Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

01 Jan 2018 22:17:34
Ed01, is mane unhappy for some reason?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Mane is Mane, he plays well for a season then sulks and moans and turns up when he feels like it. This is exactly what he did at both Salzburg and Southampton. Up to Klopp to sort him out and get him going again.}

02 Jan 2018 00:20:14
Crazy isn't it we just can't win our best players are divas.

02 Jan 2018 00:44:08
There will only be one winner if it becomes klopp vs mane.

02 Jan 2018 02:28:48
Am sure the proportion of divas increases amongst the worlds best players.

02 Jan 2018 08:56:43
Think we are a being a bit harsh guys on Mane he did play whilst not well yesterday and we all know of players who break a nail and cry of sick
yes he has been put out by Salah, who wouldnt? he has taken his mantle of best player at liverpool from last season but I for one will not forget how brilliant he was from last season and at times carried us and when he was missing how much his absence was felt.
fingers crossed he get back to that form soon and this theory of him being upset/ unhappy is just a myth.

01 Jan 2018 23:03:24
Have LFC got an official teeth-whitening product?
From watching JK running across the pitch to embrace Ragnar he's got on the Bobby and Couts bandwagon.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

02 Jan 2018 11:41:21
Klopp is a heavy smoker, that's how good the whitening is.

01 Jan 2018 23:00:05
I've always said that a true "2 footed player" is one who can slide tackle with both feet. Adam lallana, 18 minute mark. Take a bow son.

Believable14 Unbelievable0

02 Jan 2018 04:19:58
did well. Missed it with the first foot but got it with the second. I liked his effort - starting to get his energy back.

02 Jan 2018 11:42:03
Replay show he caught the man rather than the ball.

01 Jan 2018 22:41:31
Did anyone see wonderdogsparky's Twitter?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

01 Jan 2018 22:56:56
Haha sparky is such a tease, we knew couts was gone when he was ommited from the squad tonight but sparky hinted that we had a new house guest and posted a picture of hand cream to suggest we would like who it is lol. Love it ed02 oops i mean sparky.

{Ed002's Note - sparky tells me you should look at all of the clue.}

01 Jan 2018 23:13:19
Damn you ED.

You are killing me here.

I am far to stupid to even begin deciphering the clues left behind by Sparky. Guess I will wait on the edge of my seat until something happens.

Hopefully that will not be too long for the sake of my legs :D.

01 Jan 2018 23:17:04
LFC-S MANGO - I was waiting for somebody to say it before me lol all I can think of is hello kitty and a bloody thunderbird.

01 Jan 2018 23:20:31
Lol same Mango, mascara, hello kitty shea butter, Virgil and a 6ft 4in tranny. Got absolutely no idea as well, far far too stupid I am.

01 Jan 2018 23:22:03
In the hand cream post there was Shea butter. you think we are bringing in John from Sunderland? Good experienced defender. 😁.

01 Jan 2018 23:39:53
Has the Brazilian Alfred Borden performed his last trick and ended up near the owners of NYX Cosmetics headquarters.

01 Jan 2018 23:48:43
Shea Given, to sort our goalkeeping woes 😁.

01 Jan 2018 23:52:09
Talisca Coz he's 6ft 4 that's all I've got. But doesn't match other clues, I'm off work so I've now got something to do haha.

02 Jan 2018 00:05:56
Oh i get it Virgil tracy, thunderbird 2, van dijk, 6.4 tranny etc. So vvd is the new housemate, sparky was not refering to someone replacing pipco on the pitch just in the house.

We just have to wait for the next sparky update to find out who else MIGHT be coming in to take pipcos place.

02 Jan 2018 00:10:24
adz28 I'm with you its john oshea.

02 Jan 2018 00:52:21
Its a coming - I think you've hit the nail on the head mate.

02 Jan 2018 08:10:17
I thought it was referring to van dijk, as he officially moved yesterday.

01 Jan 2018 23:26:34
Haha been on here an Twitter about 50 times today
Trying to figure it out still no further along .

Anymore clues ed.

02 Jan 2018 00:48:08
Gerrard pique is 6,4 looks like he’s always got
Mascara on other clues I’m lost on am I right ed lol.

02 Jan 2018 06:43:23
Could it not just be Virgil ed?

{Ed002's Note - All of the clues do pto him don't they.}

02 Jan 2018 11:11:21
The picture shows thunderbird 2 which is piloted by Virgil.
The reference to 6ft4 height is a reference to VVD who is also 6ft 4.

The incoming player reference in sparkys tweets is about vvd.

I believe the surprise is reference to the fact the eds did not see the deal happening.

Vvd does look like he wears mascara lol and maybe the soft hands is reference to cout in the Nivea adverts?

01 Jan 2018 22:28:55
Klopp said the boys clapped mane when he came into the dressing room, for the goal, as they know his forms been struggling.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, he has built a team. And the word team means a lot. Everyone is involved in this journey, some will get off the bus on the way (pc) but it doesn't even matter, their seat will be replaced and the team will keep going forward, we will get to a trophy at the end. Talent without hard work and desire is nothing. Cheeky fiver on us winning the CL tonight.

Believable11 Unbelievable2

01 Jan 2018 22:37:40
I agree benny, tonights performance was case in point, no salah, coutinho henderson, firmino and they went out there as a team with belief in themselves.

01 Jan 2018 22:44:19
Best status of the year mate. Completely agree, Mane will be fine every player has rough patches, Salah probably will as will anybody else, that's football.

For the first time in a long time I can see Liverpool as a team, a real team, a force and with Keita and VVD added it makes it more so. It's no longer about one player, it's about the whole team as a unit and that unit is thriving in my opinion, I'm very satisfied with the current setup we have. The players are acting as they should, true professionals, we're getting the results we should be getting, we're improving positions needing to be improved, I'm chuft. Get us some silverware and I'll be delighted.

01 Jan 2018 23:15:40
Spot on, OP. I was never worried about Mane really and he just reminded that form is temporary BUT class is permanent.

As for Klopp, the team he is building is taking shape nicely. There will be bumps along the way and we have to learn to rise above them and get around them in many cases and if we do falter, have the grit to come back stronger. It is for this treason that he got shot of trouble makers like Sahko. We will be fine under Klopp, IMO regardless of whatever issues we may have at present in the team.

01 Jan 2018 23:21:55
If Mane could get back to the level of last year or the level he started this season we will be a much better team for it. I think there have been signs in the last 2 games. I agree about Keita and VVD I think they improve the team a lot.

When PC goes (looking like soon) we will need to buy a new player or players, but I don't mind what position they play. The main thing is they are real quality footballers, if it's a gk or cb or midfielder I don't care. It will just be one player less to buy in the summer.

01 Jan 2018 23:23:49
Benny what a waste of a fiver. We've got no chance of winning the CL tonight 😜. Maybe in may though.

01 Jan 2018 22:03:40
Just seen Klavan's name on the Nike website! Orders by the 6th Jan!

When will it ever stop!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

01 Jan 2018 22:17:06
Lovren, lovely cushion header for KLAVANNNN.

01 Jan 2018 23:06:53
Isn't it one N? 🤔😁✌.

01 Jan 2018 21:52:45
So Ed002 when is the big reveal from sparky haha .

Believable2 Unbelievable0

02 Jan 2018 11:10:20
It's vvd.

01 Jan 2018 21:12:09
Hi hope you had a great Xmas. and happy new year. question for ed002 I follow sparky on Twitter haven't the foggiest what he's on about but trying to read between the lines it's looks like Liverpool have phils replacement already lined up. thanks for all your hard work.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

01 Jan 2018 21:28:05
Who is this sparky people talk of? I don't use twitter is there a link anywhere? is he reliable? most of twitter is teenage kids wanting followers. This guy seems to be reliable?

01 Jan 2018 21:42:34
Wonder Dog Sparky is Ed002 on Twitter.

01 Jan 2018 21:45:58
Oh I see, cheers stoneage.

01 Jan 2018 22:30:37
Next you'll tell me my mum puts a quid under my pillow when I lose a tooth.

01 Jan 2018 23:09:52
A quid lfcfan? Rich git 😉✌.

02 Jan 2018 00:33:56
I thought the 6"4 tranny might was probably referring to VVD. Thunderbird 2 is certainly Virgil.

02 Jan 2018 11:08:29
What does the cryptic clue say?

01 Jan 2018 20:41:50
Thomas Lemar v/ s Christian Pulisic
Who is better suited to replace Coutinho and why just based on footballing abilities and nothing else?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed0333's Note - pulisic all day long for me. Can play anywhere along the front 3 and marketing opportunities in the States would be huge. I just feel he has a larger ceiling and doesn’t need to be bedded into the Klopp way.

01 Jan 2018 20:58:45
To me the marketing thing is a non issue. Lemar can play either wing, number 10 and number 8 in midfield, he’s performed well at club and international level and has a fantastic long range shot and dead ball ability in his locker which Pulisic doesn’t have. Plus Pulisic has said that he’s a big Man United supporter and only wants to play for them if he moved to the Premier League. Whereas Lemar is keen on a move.

01 Jan 2018 20:59:23
Pulisic for the reasons Ed033 said. It would mean he could play in a few positions at a very high level.

01 Jan 2018 20:59:33
I believe the same. Pulisic all day long for me.
I really would prefer it if we could
go all out for him by June.

01 Jan 2018 21:08:30
There are quite a few players linked to us who could replace Coutinho, mostly though they are best suited to replacing him in the front 3, rather than when he plays in midfield as our play maker, Phil is really two players in one.
If we do sign one of these front players as a replacement I wonder if we do need another creative force in midfield, Lallana can fill the role but not in same class as Coutinho.

01 Jan 2018 21:12:28
Between the two it would be Pulisic all day long.

01 Jan 2018 22:29:13
Pulisic for reasons i have explained in another post. Good little player who could be great.

01 Jan 2018 22:39:43
Pulisic would be an American marketing gold mine. As an American I can attest we are starving for a legit star in the world game an pulisic appears to be one that has that real potential. I am tired of the bums who could not cut it in Europe then come to the Micky mouse league of MLS and end up being on our national team who could frigging beat Trinidad. Sorry for the rant.

01 Jan 2018 23:19:15
Pulisic, hands down. People in America think Donovan is the best player in U. S football history. That is inaccurate, IMO. Talent wise and raw skill and ability, Pulisic is the real deal (Donovan is not a patch on him) and is still learning the game so his ceiling and upside is thru the roof. Pulisic any day over the others like Meyer, Lanzini and the like even tho, I would not mind Julian Brandt as he can play in a front 3 and in the no. 10, where he currently plays at Leverkusen.

01 Jan 2018 20:52:15
I agree Ed333.

02 Jan 2018 03:06:55
I'm in America and I don't see Donovan in our top 5. Claudio Reyna. Miles better. Donovan only wanted to be the big fish in a small pond. No fight in that boy. Puli Pulisic is not the best yet but he will be before long. Would love to have him as a red.

01 Jan 2018 20:25:35
Ed is sparky referring to javier pastore?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea. Is he a 6’4” drag queen who drives a Thunderbid, has sof hands and wears a lot of mascara?}

01 Jan 2018 20:37:20
Lmfao Ed2 class.

01 Jan 2018 20:38:36
That's Ibrahimovic ed, easy mistake to make.

01 Jan 2018 21:13:08
virgil tracy drives a thunderbird :)

01 Jan 2018 21:14:02
Virgil?

01 Jan 2018 21:06:28
Is it just Van Dijk an we’re all getting our hopes up it’s
A new signing lol.

01 Jan 2018 22:20:53
Thats lord bendtner.

02 Jan 2018 11:04:55
VIRGIL van DYCK (or Dyke if you prefer)

Also has hair in a nice bun.

That's your patsy!

01 Jan 2018 20:24:49
Hi Ed’s,

Assuming Coutinho now leaves, who (if you had the choice) would you like to replace him in the squad, or which couple of players, as I think people have said there isn’t a direct replacement.
I know you maybe reluctant to answer due to people reading to much in to it, but thought I would ask.

Thx

Andy O.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Try going through the summer posts when I answered this on many occasions.}

01 Jan 2018 19:59:59
When Coutinho leaves, I think Klopp will go after Pulisic. Eds, how much do you guys rate Pulisic?
Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed0333's Note - Absolute cracking player. Would fit in perfectly at our club. Has the potential to be world class.

01 Jan 2018 20:16:25
Unlikely but would be tasty! 👌.

01 Jan 2018 20:26:31
I'd love Pulisic to join just can't see it some how lol the lad is on another level, he'd fit in perfect with Liverpool.

01 Jan 2018 21:02:46
Surely he can't be totally out of the question. If we get £130m for PC give them £100m for the best we can get. Pulisic must be very very close to the best we can get.

{Ed001's Note - it is nothing to do with money.}

01 Jan 2018 21:07:09
If it possible one in January and one in summer if we don’t get Goretzka or Meyer.

01 Jan 2018 23:20:21
Pulisic or Brandt for me. Meyer is not a patch and any of these players, IMO.

01 Jan 2018 21:58:59
Ed001 if we can't attract Pulisic then we are not doing some things right. I can understand we can't attract the really top top level players but Pulisic is just really starting his career.

I hope you are talking about another reason.

{Ed001's Note - seriously? You really do need to learn some humility.}

02 Jan 2018 11:05:25
If there's another player our US owners will break the bank for, its a young American superstar. Not as unlikely as some seem to think.

However, for the same reason, I would imagine the Glazers are after him too, especially as they have to spend another £300m.

01 Jan 2018 19:36:10
Hi Ed001
I very rarely get to see any games these days, just what gets written in the media and on here.
I’ve always quite liked Lallana and read today that he dropped deeper when we went ahead.
Do you see him being used or, more critically, being an important player in a deeper position, sorry to compare but a bit like Gerrard became in his latter years.
He’s often had his fitness issues so maybe in a less mobile role, he can keep himself off the treatment table.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I think he will have to as we are short in there right now, so he is going to have to be utilised there until we can address that.}

01 Jan 2018 19:34:47
Another vital 3 points. Get in!

Believable8 Unbelievable0

01 Jan 2018 23:21:08
Best 3 points garnered all season, IMO.

01 Jan 2018 19:20:28
Anyone know more about the approach to spurs for dele Ali by all accounts its another club record deal if it were to be accepted.
Altho he has not been great this year I think he is a sexy little player when at his best.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

01 Jan 2018 19:49:11
What approach? Club record for Ali I bloody hope not. One of the most over rated players in my opinion.

01 Jan 2018 19:58:38
@Klopp2017 I completely disagree with you. Dele All is absolutely brilliant, wish we signed him.

01 Jan 2018 20:01:54
Lpool page guys! ✌.

01 Jan 2018 20:01:56
Unless I have missed something, who has said we have approached Spurs?

01 Jan 2018 20:03:49
I’d be disappointed if we bought him now. If it was from MK Dons as a youngster, then yes, but now? Waste of money, rather we bought Eriksen.

01 Jan 2018 20:14:28
Sorry ninnja123 I'm sticking to my opinion on Ali I didn't say he wasn't good just not world class like all the pundits and spurs fans think.

01 Jan 2018 20:17:11
I'd have him at Liverpool tomorrow, he's a good player. Doubt that'll happen mind.

01 Jan 2018 20:18:41
I'd take Alli in a heart beat. He is still only 21 and a big Liverpool fan.

No way would i touch Eriksen though Dennis. He wouldn't get in our team for me. Mane and Salah are better wide players, and he's a total liability in midfield. Respect your opinion though mate, I just don't rate CE.

Alli would be perfect behind Firmino in my opinion. It would be painful for opposition players trying to cope with a forward dropping into midfield, and a midfielder breaking into the box. It'd confuse the hell out of the best defenders in world football. Won't happen though. Alli is worth £150m in todays market. He's in the top 5 u21's in the world.

01 Jan 2018 20:36:42
Again has anyone actually said we have approached Spurs or we plucking random names out the bag? I think he is a class player who is only 21 but has been off the boil this season. Would I have him at our club, the answer is yes as he has the potential to be world class but Levy would take us to the cleaners in regards to transfer fee.

01 Jan 2018 21:17:05
Alli would be the world class signing to replace firmino alright. Agree with mks 100% him and firmino would terrorise defenses in the league and champions league. whatever money we get from coutinho id give every penny for him. have a bad feeling we are getting rafinha off Barcelona instead and that would be a major disappointment. limited footballer and not in the same league as Lallana let alone coutinho.

01 Jan 2018 21:30:48
Alli replacing Firmino? Have I missed 6 months or something?

01 Jan 2018 22:24:18
Ha apologies Ron. All over the place with all that's going on. Coutinho can go. Firmino is ours forever.

02 Jan 2018 11:06:25
Totally with you there Adam, I really wish someone had given Stevie a holler a couple of years ago! Most costly nap ever!

However, given you follow a lot more football than me, if we had the choice of Pullisic at, say, £50m, or Alli at £150m (I don't disagree with that approximate valuation, btw! ), which would you go for?

01 Jan 2018 17:27:50
Is it just me or did mane look unhappy today his body language was of or something.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

01 Jan 2018 17:31:01
Scored a worldie but looked like he had just scored a consolation goal.

01 Jan 2018 17:31:30
Yeah I saw that as well. I hope we are not reading to much into it but he could be just unhappy with his own performance.

01 Jan 2018 18:26:32
Think that's his general demeanor. he's been inconsistent and in and out the squad for a while. He was a sulk at Southampton, but he's got to realise he's part of a bigger and better squad. I think Klopp won't risk anything on Friday. He'll play the so called Fab Four provided PipCo is still here which i highly doubt.

01 Jan 2018 18:26:44
He said after the game he’s unwell which was why he came off early, he’d been unwell before the game.

01 Jan 2018 18:28:44
Is the old dummy/ bench attitude kicking in?!
Hope not but it could be?
He has been a tad off his usual levels of late!

01 Jan 2018 18:37:43
Think we read too much into body language, especially erring when we look for only perfect signs of positivity lol

He's had a tough patch, been criticized and has fallen out of the linelight. Thw goal did him good and unfortunate he was brought off. He may have used the extra time and momentum.

01 Jan 2018 18:43:32
I don't think Mane likes Salah.

Against Leicester, Mane played a beautiful pass in to Salah for a goal. Then on two separate occasions Salah should've set up Mane but wasted the chance by trying to chip the keeper.

On the first one, Mane pointed in front of him and features that Salah should've cut it back. On the second one, Mane just looked up at the Sky in despair and jogged off.

I think he feels as though Salah doesn't want to set him up. Mane needs to realise that he is just as greedy at times though (see the Everton game for reference) .

Mane was a fan favourite last season and widely regarded as our best player. This season he has been over shadowed by not one, not two, but 3 other players! I think he's taking it badly, and Klopp benching him isn't helping his confidence. Mane still has the quality to beat anyone on his day though and I'm sure he'll get over this.

01 Jan 2018 19:34:45
Mk I totally agree with that salah could have set up many goals with chances he has missed. Still a brilliant player for us would be even better if he passed more often rather than take a half chance.

01 Jan 2018 19:38:14
He’s been the same since Klopp brought him on in the 89th minute against Chelsea and they had a post match tiff on the pitch. I think it’s a tad disrespectful to bring him on in the 89th minute tbh.

01 Jan 2018 19:49:30
Walter, i don't mind him being a bit greedy if I'm honest. I am just trying to put myself in Mane's shoes and making a total guess at why he seems down right now.

Ron makes a good point too though. Mane has been repeatedly left out for Coutinho who has actively tried to force a move. To then sub him on in the 89th minute rubs salt into the wounds.

He's not even playing badly. He has 8 goals and 5 assists at the half way stage. Last season he finished with 13 goals and 5 assists. So he is at least on course to match his goals tally and certain to beat his assists tally. He's still playing to a good standard. Salah and Firmino in particular have just set the bar higher this season.

01 Jan 2018 19:54:21
Mane and Salah are best mates apparently.

01 Jan 2018 20:27:56
Yeah I'm sure I read that Salah said him and Mane are best mates in one of his interviews. Even as best mates though they will still get frustrated with each other on the pitch. It's that winning mentality.

01 Jan 2018 23:24:35
Everybody needs to calm down. Mane reportedly said that he was not feeling well before the game and btw, we need him for Everton so it was normal for him to come off if true tho of course, he would have been disappointed to come off. BTW, Klopp said the whole DR applauded Mane after the game for the goal so in the end, there's nothing to see here, IMO.

02 Jan 2018 11:02:27
Mascara . mascherano perhaps? Only guessing. The others seem obvious as coutinho going and Virgil (thunderbirds) vd.

01 Jan 2018 17:16:53
Wonder dog sparky some cryptic clues need a few degrees to figure them out haha.

Phils gone and as we’ve done with fowler . Torres . Suarez we’ll carry on we’re more than a 1 man team now no ones bigger than the club all the best Phil .

Hope we get Barcelona in the champs league now an do them . YNWA.

Believable12 Unbelievable0

01 Jan 2018 17:26:10
Do you understand what Sparky is trying to say? Does anyone?

I can't work it out at all. Does it mean he is getting house ready for someone arriving? Rafinha? Any help ed002?

01 Jan 2018 17:31:43
From what I make of it Somone is moving in but could just be Virgil or were getting another 6ft 4 beast coming in who knows haha.

01 Jan 2018 17:47:30
Argh yed your probably right Belfast. It will be Virgil.

01 Jan 2018 18:34:49
It's very simple.

It means Couts will be leaving this month.

Nothing else in that above. ☝.

01 Jan 2018 18:43:54
On that mascara post one of them is called “big eyes” is that ozil? Lol.

02 Jan 2018 11:01:04
The car is TB2 whose Captain was called Virgil something.

Calm down.

02 Jan 2018 11:03:38
Virgil, hence reference to Thunderbirds!

01 Jan 2018 16:56:28
Not a great performance, but I'll take a dirty win during the Christmas / New Year period no problem.

Made up for Klavan to score the winner. He's filled in for us very well over the last couple of months and deserved that, imo.

And now we get to watch either Man U or Everton, or maybe even both, drop points. What a nice start to the New Year.

Believable15 Unbelievable0

01 Jan 2018 17:06:09
And let's not forget Mane's cracker of a goal either. Hopefully that'll give him some confidence back and remind him that he's still one of the best players in the league on his day.

01 Jan 2018 17:12:00
I'd like to see Klavan next to VVD to be honest. Klavans weakness is his speed. VVD is an ideal partner for that.

01 Jan 2018 17:22:29
Im with you there Jayden, Klaven before Matip and Lovren for me.

01 Jan 2018 17:25:45
Agree Jayden klavan is our most consistent and solid defender. I would like to see him as well partner with big Virgil. I would even argue Lovren should bump matip down he pecki g order to the bottom. And go figure, Lovren and klavan create the winning goal.

01 Jan 2018 17:27:25
Lovren all day. Much more comfortable on the right side CB.

01 Jan 2018 17:23:34
Exactly the kind of win that the top teams would get And you have to pick up for top 3 finish.

01 Jan 2018 18:25:31
I’ve been critical of those two before but it is undeniable that they’ve been reasonably consistent on this run, going to Burnley and winning is no mean feat. Imagine if they played in front of a decent keeper eh?

01 Jan 2018 23:26:22
I guess Klopp was right all along. Our CB's are more than coachable and Klopp has done a bang up job of improving them.

01 Jan 2018 16:56:20
Massive well done to the lads today, I saw the lineup and got slightly worried and expected maybe a draw. Once they equalised I lost all energy, I never expected us to get another goal. Get in! another great 3 points, on to Everton!

01 Jan 2018 17:18:17
Salah mate, when they scored I was like that's my evening written off as I couldn't see us scoring but when Klavan did, I think all my neighbours heard me shouting. 2018 onwards and upwards, bring on Everton! but first if they can do us a favour against Man U tonight.

01 Jan 2018 17:25:09
Lol Alonso I know mate I was the same, woke the baby up and made the next door neighbours dog bark but it's all good! can have a chilled night now! Great start to the year :)

01 Jan 2018 17:35:48
hahaha same here my wife went mental at me for screaming so loud that i woke up my 5 months old son.

01 Jan 2018 17:49:40
KloppDaKop - mine boy is 5 months as well mate on Friday lol he kicked right off, poor little bugger was probably dreaming about a rabbit or something woken up to me going ape sh*t lol.

01 Jan 2018 23:27:58
Salah, even my wife who does not care for football, was hurling abuse at the TV when Burnley scored, trashing the LFC players for screwing up YET AGAIN and then. Klavan happened.

01 Jan 2018 16:19:07
If we were to sell Coutinho in January do you expect us to replace him or leave in till the summer?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

01 Jan 2018 16:28:23
Id I was paid a quid every time I read that question the past few weeks I'd be a billionaire.

01 Jan 2018 15:06:49
Quick question for ed01 if poss, I appreciate the reasons behind rotation but do you find seven changes a bit excessive, also, we knew as soon as the final whistle at Leicester that salah picked up a niggle, didn't hear anything on coutinho, do you think it's a genuine knock or have we seen coutinho in a Liverpool top for the last time against Leicester?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - I am not a fan of rotation, so yes I do, but so long as we continue to pick up results and avoid defeats, then I can't really argue. If we are going full pelt this month, unlike last year, then it suggests the rotation is working.

As for Couts, I have no idea, impossible to say.}

01 Jan 2018 17:00:16
I'd say rotation is good for protecting our players from major injuries. Yes salah and cout did miss today but its nothing like the scale of injuries we have had in recent years despite having more fixtures from the CL too.

01 Jan 2018 23:30:20
IMO, Klopp is being vindicated for rotating during this past month as our rivals in the top 6, have struggled mightily in certain games during that span and even their managers have been complaining of fatigue. We have had NO such issue so to me, Klopp is playing a blinder for now overall BUT as Ed01 said, we'll see what happens in Jan.

01 Jan 2018 14:50:36
I see we've been linked with Dani Ceballos and Ed002 has confirmed his representatives have approached Liverpool. I really hope the club act on that if it is the case.

Ceballos is absolutely fantastic. He reminds me of a young De Bruyne. It is not just luck that meant he had the choice between Barcelona and Real Madrid in the summer. He is a supreme talent who can run the show from midfield.

The main concern is that he apparently regrets not choosing Barcelona. So if we sign him and he has a great 18 months, we lose him before we've all learnt to spell his name 😂 however, with his relationship with Madrid now sour, and Barcelona potentially aggrieved by him rejecting them in the summer, maybe we could hold on to him in the same way City kept hold of David Silva; by winning things.

It'd be a great signing if we pulled it off, but Ceballos will likely have the pick of every team in Europe. So I'm not going to get my hopes up. He's potentially top class though.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

01 Jan 2018 15:05:33
I agree. MK. For those thinking he is not a direct replacement for coutinho I would agree in some ways.

But Coutinhos best games for us this year have been when he's playing in a wide position upfront. We have mane and salah for those positions. A good ball playing midfielder would be a good option. Lemar would still be my first choice just struggle to see anything happening in January.

01 Jan 2018 15:07:25
Winning things would seem to cure most things for us MK.

01 Jan 2018 18:35:14
To me he looks like a happy shopper Redondo. To me we’re just bringing in potential to replace the finished article which is not a good move. When we sell Coutinho the player coming in has to be of the quality to hit the ground running.

01 Jan 2018 19:53:37
You are correct Dennis we need the players that come it to be ready to play at a high level almost straight away. Just Like Salah has done, we don't have the squad to carry PC's replacement for 6 months.

We have to start to win things in order to keep Salah and our other good players otherwise we just drift for the next 5 years. People on here all seem to be wishing PC luck with his move. Once he has moved and mainly for the way he has acted I hope he crashes and burns big style.

01 Jan 2018 14:39:19
Liverpool to 'take Nike to court after they 'reveal' Coutinho's Barcelona switch.
Is it true?

{Ed002's Note - Popped along this morning did they?}

Worried about today’s game, I’m not convinced by the team selection. Burnley are having a good season, hope they’re aren’t underestimated.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

01 Jan 2018 14:23:00
Lallana and Solanke linked up superbly in pre season so i am optimistic to see them start together for the first time this season.

I can see today being the day Solanke opens his account and i wouldn't be surprised if it's a header from a dinked Lallana pass!

01 Jan 2018 14:26:47
Good team selection, best team to play in derby 👍.

01 Jan 2018 14:31:34
You have to give the players a rest during a busy period of games. I will take any sort of win at all. As long as we continue our momentum. Plenty of changes up front today, Mane to score but i think it might be a draw, which won't be the worst result i guess.

01 Jan 2018 14:32:37
No Coutinho and Salah is a huge concern. Given they are our biggest goal threats and we’ve struggled against Burnley on many occasions. The worst thing is that the lack of Coutinho in the Matchday squad as it implies that it’s now a done deal.

01 Jan 2018 14:39:56
Why change the keeper again. I just don’t get it 😕.

01 Jan 2018 14:49:47
I knew fans would read into this that he's as good as gone.
It's a reasonable rotation given how close the fixtures are at this time of year.

We will see him in a red shirt again, hopefully until May.
This team is strong enough to give Burnley a game. The change in set up may well prove to be the advantage.

Mane needs a goal, as does Solanke and would expect them to be hungry today.

01 Jan 2018 20:04:30
Irish - why do you say a draw wouldn't be a bad result? I just don't get it. We are playing Burnley, their team probably costs less than we paid for the OX. We have already had 8 draws in the league we can't afford many more dropped points.

I think we will need to get 80 points to get in the top 4 so no we can not afford to drop any more points in games we should be winning.

01 Jan 2018 14:15:25
I can't stress how much I hate changing keepers. just give karius his run of games.

Ed002 i remember a couple of years ago you mentioned a few players who were well thought of and presumed potential big stars of the future. Was wondering if you think they are still on that path or if not what has been the reason they havn't lived upto thier potential

Max Meyer
Martin Benitez
Nathan Ake
Sheyi Ojo

Are the 4 i remember mostly.

Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - This was in 2013 and Meyer is playing at the highest level in Germany with Schalke, Ake is aging in the Premier League in England, Ojo is on loan but a decision needs to be made about his future this summer. Benitez is still doing well in Argentina and a number of European clubs remain keen. So all in all they are oink fine.}

Happy New Year to the Ed's, regular posters and lurkers. Loving the LFC roller coaster under Klopp and FSG. Here's to more of the same and maybe some silverware in the not too distant future ✊🏻.

After the Coutinho/ Barcelona shirt, would Liverpool not be looking for an explanation from Nike? It just seems pretty strange if the club weren't a just little annoyed or is it a case of Nike/ Barcelona can do what they want?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - This is not a conspiracy against Liverpool - move on. And why do you think it is anything to do with Barcelona? Maybe you should go to a store and have them make you up a Liverpool Rafinha shirt and I promise I will post a picture of it here.}

01 Jan 2018 12:58:54
ESPN Brazil are reporting that LFC are "taking Nike to court" over this.

01 Jan 2018 13:12:07
So it means we are after Rafina Alcantara?

01 Jan 2018 13:15:32
I am not saying it's a conspiracy against Liverpool but Nike, Barcelona and Coutinho were involved. It was on Nike's official website. If they were hacked why not just say it? It's unprofessional in my eyes. It's like the company I work for putting a new employee in the company newsletter before, he handed his notice to his curret employer.

{Ed002's Note - How was Barcelona involved? How was Coutinho involved?}

01 Jan 2018 13:15:49
*current.

01 Jan 2018 13:44:16
On the Nike website "Philippe Coutinho is ready to light up the Nou Camp. Get your 2017/ 18 FC Barcelona kit with the Magicians name on it. Act fast - free personalisation only available until January 6th " They might not be involved directly but certainly indirectly and if that doesn't warrant an apology I don't know what does.

{Ed002's Note - They are not involved at all. What is wrong with you?}

01 Jan 2018 14:05:22
Fair enough.

01 Jan 2018 14:39:21
The I question at law is what made Nike put such a statement on their website. What is the source of their information. To the best of my humble knowledge Barcelona is certainly involved! I don’t see the reasons why Edd 002 keeps on denying that Barcelona has been very dirty with their media in their pursuit of Coutinho. It’s very clear! They have been far from clean and doing everything to get the player.

{Ed002's Note - I don't understand what "questioin at law" means. It is nothing to do with Barcelona whatsoever. Please point me at any post where I say anything along the clines that "Barcelona has not been dirty with their media" or "Barcelona has been clean with their media".}

01 Jan 2018 12:24:23

how likely is it that we will wish Coutinho farewell this month? Imo it wouldn't make sense to sell our best player mid-way through the season. If we could arrange a deal for the summer that would be better.

Happy New Year All,
For the New Year I would like to propose the following resolution if you agree ed.
An instant sin bin to anyone who uses the following phrase
1. Cheeky Bid
2. Smoke screen
3. Anything copied from Twitter
4. Swap Deal
5. The request for feedback from the Eds of any random name never associated previously with the club which someone had a dream about and woke up all sweaty and excited.
6. Pipco or any other abbreviated nick name
7. Anyone who didn't use the search function before asking a question.
8. Anyone who the Eds had to respond to with 'FFS'
9. Anyone who doesn't know what means
10. Any money questions whatsoever (hasn't anyone notice Ed gets a bit touchy about that one by now)
11. Anyone who between now and the end of the transfer window asks the Eds if we think Phil will leave.
I think that should clear that all up nicely Eds.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

01 Jan 2018 12:37:15
Well this is awkward, As i heard we was making a cheeky bid for Rafina, But that was just a smokescreen for sergi roberto according to twitter who is involved in a swap deal with pipco. I didn't use the search funtion but when i asked the eds ed2 responded RTP which i have no idea what that means, Hopefully that were moving for mbappe which i dreamed would be perfect for us. Hopefully the eds can clear up how much he would cost or if couts is leaving?

01 Jan 2018 13:08:38
Lol love it scarry.

02 Jan 2018 01:03:01
Always a gag, you missed out:
‘Statement of intent’
‘Buy-out clause’
‘Buy-back clause’
‘How likely is it. ’.

01 Jan 2018 11:36:10
Hi eds, hope your good. Having signed VVd I still think we need another CB to be honest, now Gomez may have potential, but matip gets injured too often and klaven and lovren are not good enough imo. I used to say Rudiger long before he moved to Chelsea but that ships sailed.

So the player I've been looking at recently is Nathan Ake, he looks very good at Bournemouth, and they have to defend a lot. Pace power good on the ball and great passing range. Are we looking for another CB? And I'm judging the player nothing to do with him been Dutch like VVD.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

01 Jan 2018 12:10:51
Between now and the summer I would start to give Gomez the odd game next to VVD with TAA on the right, only in the “easy” games at first, try and blood him in slowly.
I wouldn’t just chuck Gomez in centrally for the rest of the season because I believe TAA will struggle if given the place full time and I don’t want to see Clyne back in the team.
Then in the summer you make a decision, if Gomez is ready then make him your centre back for next season and look to bring in a first team right back, then TAA will be back up for right back and right wing next season, if not then put Gomez back into right back with TAA as back up and consider your options for centre back, persist with what we have or buy someone experienced until Gomez is ready.
That’s what I would do anyway, looking forward to how this pans out, we have 2 excellent young prospects in Gomez and TAA and their development needs to be very carefully considered.

01 Jan 2018 12:13:35
Ake has been awful this season. Chelsea let him go despite being desperate for a centre back. I know Chelsea have let good players go before, but Ake just seems different. Salah, Lukaku and De Bruyne still got moves to big clubs when they left. Nobody in the top echelons of the game would touch Ake though. I wonder if he has attitude or application issues off the pitch because of this.

He hasn't improved in 3 years and has actually got worse this season. I wouldn't touch him until he proves himself a bit more. I've seen nothing in 18 months from him now. Howe might be a bad coach defensively, but Ake can't blame his manager for basic mistakes and lapses in concentration.

I'm still hopeful we retain interest in De Vrij. I think he'd be a great partner for Van Dijk. If not though, I'd just stick with Lovren/ Klavan alongside Van Dijk until the summer and the try Gomez in the centre in pre-season to see if he is ready. He's probably going to start as a centre back in a back 3 at a world cup this summer, so he'll get some vital experience there.

Matip isn't good enough by the way (as you implied he should partner Van Dijk when fit - apologies if I've got that wrong though) . Ed002 said when we signed Matip that he was a back up player at best who should replace Kolo Toure. Sadly, the Sakho debacle happened and Matip ended up first choice because of it. Klopp must set aside his loyalties now though. Matip and Mignolet are the biggest liabilities at the club and we need to move them on.

01 Jan 2018 11:30:47
Do you see us trying to sign Lanzini as a replacement for Coutinho?

Believable0 Unbelievable8

01 Jan 2018 12:12:45
I hope not, we need to look bigger than that surely.

01 Jan 2018 12:16:55
Lanzini is a cracking player, but he's inconsistent and only brilliant in flashes. Having said that, Coutinho was exactly the same when we signed him and still is to a much lesser extent.

Is Lanzini at the same level? No chance. He is a similar player though who would likely come cheaper than Lemar and is proven in the division. Maybe he'd be better alongside a higher class of team mate? I'd give him a chance before i got the knives out, but he wouldn't be my pick.

01 Jan 2018 12:33:49
He doesn't tick any of the boxes on the criteria.

We need to replace Couts with someone who has CL experience for a start. We want to push on to the next level and so we need to sign players that allow us to do that.

Brandt, Lemar and Draxler are all much much better fits in that regard.

01 Jan 2018 12:56:17
He is a good little player, just not quite the tier we should be going for, for that CAM role. I think there's better available.

01 Jan 2018 13:47:22
Think Lallana is the immediate replacement to be honest.

01 Jan 2018 11:21:43
Happy new year to all the Ed's. How does club decide how much a player is worth to buy and sell. I know taken into account is internationals and if the player is very good winning things this will also be part of the price. But say for example and this not about his transfer fee. If spelling is right Kieta the midfielder we have bought for next year. Last season he had a good season but before that was not heard off. Please explain using any player that has never won anything how they set a price.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - there is no set system for doing so. The club just decides how much a player is worth to them.}

01 Jan 2018 10:57:53
Is sarah the tea lady? 😜.

01 Jan 2018 10:45:11
Serious injury ed1? And could I ask about de bruyne's fitness?

{Ed001's Note - they don't think so, but it takes about 48 hours for any swelling to go down to allow a proper scan to take place. Same with De Bruyne, nothing will be sure until then, though they usually have a better idea within about 24 hours.}

01 Jan 2018 11:09:51
Can we play Salah instead?
Or Coutinho-Lallana-Mane in behind Firmino?

Or we could perhaps be conservative and play AoC, Can, Milner and Gini. 😩.

01 Jan 2018 11:11:53
She’ll be back for the derby, Joe told me.

01 Jan 2018 11:14:29
All joking aside reports are saying he could be out for 2 weeks and is a risk for the City game. Wonder if this changes the Couts situation (if he's going this window perhaps we may drag the transfer out a week or 2 now)

01 Jan 2018 12:49:25
Jayden
If we drag out for 2 weeks it may have negative effect on finding a quality replacement.

01 Jan 2018 13:18:37
Agger that's very true, that's if we are going for a replacement. Perhaps Kieta, Ox and VVD are the Coutinho money spent in advance.

01 Jan 2018 10:27:27

We only got to see the Philippines and then Thailand before we had to get back to see the Khalifa like but it was good.}

01 Jan 2018 10:48:00
That must must have been a sight, Ed01 with the way you describe it.

{Ed001's Note - it was great mate, certainly worth it, though I wouldn't have wanted to even try and be in the crowd by the Khalifa. However I am lucky enough to live in a place that you can see it from.}

{Ed001's Note - very difficult to compare the two, Butland is almost always injured or just coming back from injury whenever I have seen him play. While he is a good, solid keeper, he is so injury prone it would be idiocy to pay a fee for him, imo.

Trapp, on the other hand, has just lost the plot since joining PSG and, for whatever reason, has developed all the bad points of Grobbelaar but few of his strengths. He is incredibly erratic and error prone in a PSG shirt. Another one to avoid.}

Still stand by my opinion that Karius should be given a full season to show how good he can be. De Gea, Ter Stegen, Navas all took time to settle at bigger clubs and now they are some of the finest GKs in the world. Why can't Klopp and the LFC fans show the same faith and patience with Karius?
And no point talking about Ward as he seems to have fallen out completely with Klopp so will be the first GK out of the door.

01 Jan 2018 05:28:55
Lord Pinto to the rescue!

01 Jan 2018 09:28:26
I'm of the same opinion IB mate.

01 Jan 2018 09:46:44
IB I believe LFC fans are willing to show Karius faith mate and want him to be starting games. Its not us who pick the side though. He needs faith off 1 man and 1 man alone.

01 Jan 2018 10:57:28
With you there, IB and Jayden. Karius needs to be playing now and the two GK's we are linked with are NO upgrades on Karius IMO (Migs is already a non-entity) as the Ed has just described. Butland is overrated is average and injury prone while Trapp who unseated Sirigu (the better GK, IMO) and got Areola (the current no. 1) loaned out to Villareal (he played against us in the EL), at PSG has been so poor that Areola got his job back and is now in the frame with Les Bleus.

Sorry, I don'l want other team's dross or average players. This idea that other players other players (dross or average) are better than ours simply cos they don't play for us, is a fool's errand, IMO. We have a young GK with potential who is ready to make the jump and as Jayden said, it is up to the manager now to play him or let he and Ward leave.

01 Jan 2018 11:02:48
Jayden, I fully agree with you that many fans want Karius to be playing. . The prob is tho, is that there are many other fans on other fan sites (I check on these as well) who simply loathe this kid (II'm 41 so he's a kid to me) . The guy cannot do absolutely anything right in their eyes.

Can you believe that some have the nerve to blame him for the LC goal or how he could have done better after being exposed by his defenders? Or how he was blamed by one fan who said he should have done better with the pen vs Sevilla? Or how his kicking is now a problem whereas it is his biggest asset? Yeah, these are the types of "fans" we are dealing with. It is these types of fans that get on his back and will jump on him as soon as he makes a mistake. Shoot, He does not make mistakes and they are on his back. Lord help us, Jayden.

01 Jan 2018 11:22:43
Br in that case mate Karius needs to build a set of bigger shoulders and brush it off. Not saying it's right but all football players have to deal with this especially now social media is around. Karius did receive some abuse last year but it's nowhere near the same scale that Hendo, Milner, Lovren, Moreno and Lucas have in the past. And you only have to look at other teams players like Rooney he's had a whole nation on his back most of his career. It's how they react to it that defines them. I'm sure if Klopp picks Karius he will allow his performances to do the talking like he has already done the games he's played this season.

01 Jan 2018 02:42:11
Was watching closely Firmino and its just amazing how he recovers possession. The way he just makes a little kind of jump at the last moment before stealing the ball from left/ right/ behind is a thing of beauty, specially for the coaching staff. There is a plan to every pressing but it seems that it's been done instinctively which must be the work of training as everything happens soo fast with our play there isn't time to think. that's why there are only certain players who can fit to our style. I see Lallana doing the same and wish Mane and Salah start learning the technque as it's soo efficient for the counter pressing. They r not bad but can go a level or 2 up and match the other 2. Ed1 Im sure u spotted this so do u think it's vital other pressers learn the technique (for which they should also improve their general pressing as it's always a buildup. ) ? We can be devastating even against sides like PSG or Man City as it's near impossible to get away from 4/ 5 players pressing like Firmino.

01 Jan 2018 08:56:09
How do you expect Salah to chase around all the time pressing and still be at the right positions and in the correct shape to score all his goals. Salah is the forward player the team should be trying to emulate. Be in the correct positions and score goals.

I think he has 17 league goals in 21 games he doesn't need to do anything different. The other forward players need to score more and take the burden from him. The other forwards need to get some winning goals between them, far too many draws. We have only won half our league games.

{Ed025's Note - i cant believe you are complaining mark, liverpool have been excellent not only effective but entertaining as well, try being an evertonian mate and you might just have something to moan about..

01 Jan 2018 09:49:54
I can actually see what Marks trying to say Ed25 and don't think he's trying to have a moan. If ever I decide to give up watching football then I might become an Evertonian 😉.

{Ed025's Note - we are a really good club jayden, absolutely crap at footy but still a great club mate..

01 Jan 2018 11:11:33
Mark, I agree with Ed here. IMO, There should be nothing to complain or implicitly slate the other forward players for. They are doing their best and feeding off of each other's hard work. The fact that Salah scores most of the goals is a non issue for me personally, as he does not and cannot score them w/ o the huge work his team mates do to get him in such positions.

And us drawing games has NOTHING to do with the other forwards not scoring as much as Salah is nor why we have won half our games or have too many draws or whatever, IMO. That part of your post sounds like a counter productive moan, IMO.

01 Jan 2018 11:12:49
Ed25, I know Everton is a good club even tho, you have been cursed with Big Scam. Having said that, is it too much to ask that you guys do Utd tonight? Pretty Please?

{Ed025's Note - they are no threat to liverpool brover, liverpool will finish second because they are the second best team in the league mate and united will be slugging it out with arsenal and spurs for that 4th spot..

01 Jan 2018 11:59:29
Salah doesn't even score "most" of our goals though. He is top scorer, but he's scored 23 out of our 77 goals. Hardly a majority is it? It's not even a third of our goals. Compare that to Spurs who have relied on Kane for 24 of their 49 goals (basically half of their goals) and you can see exactly why we don't need a traditional striker.

Our system is great because it spreads the goals through the team, making it impossible to (for example) just man mark Salah out of the game. Teams have tried putting 4 defenders on Salah at times. He usually just dribbles through the lot of them anyway, but think of the space that is creating for others. I'd rather have Mane (7), Coutinho (12) and Firmino (16) who all score plenty of goals (35 combined), than Eriksen (6), Alli (8) and Son (9) who score far less (23 combined) because they're constantly trying to give it to Kane. Despite that Kane still only has 1 more goal than Salah.

Klopp has changed my opinion on football. I no longer see a main striker as a necessity. Firmino and Klopp have revolutionised the role in my opinion. Bobby is the most unique player in Europe. Salah is a great goal scorer and Coutinho and Mane are just genius on the ball at times, but Bobby is the glue and the man that makes it tick. The whole system hinges around him. I'll just say it, he's now world class. People always said he had everything except goals. Well now he is outscoring Aguero, Lukaku, Hazard, Sanchez etc and people have no issues with calling them world class. Firmino is the best false 9 in world football, in my opinion.

I love Salah by the way and think he is absolutely brilliant. Equally world class. Coutinho at 50% effort is averaging a goal/ assist a game for the last 20 odd appearances and will soon be Barcelona's record signing. World class? I think so. People can try and dispute this, but we're the third highest scoring team in Europe behind Man City and PSG. So if our forwards aren't world class, then whose are?

Salah is one quarter of the third best attack in the world. So i think it's time we spread the plaudits around equally myself.

01 Jan 2018 12:11:27
Good post Mk. Enjoyed reading that.

01 Jan 2018 20:18:35
It wasn't a complaint Ed025 probably I just have higher expectations that you mate. If you get satisfied with challenging for 4th all the time then you will never get any better.

Lets start talking about the league where we are doing average IMO. All the goals in the CL agains't pub teams are gone now. To me the league is everthing for the next month and Brover of course our forwards haven't scored enough. Our team is set up to outscore the other team. Out of 22 league games we have failed to outscore teams in the league 10 times, YES 10 TIMES ALREADY.

Off the top of my head PC 6 goals
Firmino 9
Mane 6 or 7

in 22 games because none of our midfielders score goals we need more. That works out a goal a game for the 3 of them. Maybe you weren't around when Liverpool used to win trophies.

01 Jan 2018 01:34:01
No way should Liverpool sell Coutinho in this window. If it happens in the summer, so be it. Better players than him have left Liverpool, Keegan, Souness, Rush and Suarez to name 4. Others who left who we wanted to stay include Torres, Mascherano, McManaman and, dare I say, Owen. Liverpool F. C. will go on no matter who leaves. Who we replace them with is the key to success. Sometimes we’ve done it well, with Dalglish to replace Keegan, Molby to replace Souness ana Aldridge to replace Rush. Other times not so well with Nunez and £8 million to replace Owen and Lambert to replace Suarez.

Nobody can replace Coutinho exactly but we need to get someone who can do things he can’t do. Owen and Torres regretted leaving Liverpool and I think Coutinho will live to regret leaving to become Messi’s bitch. Neymar has gone, Messi, Iniesta and Suarez are all close to the downward spiral and if Coutinho goes missing in some games, as he has done here, he’ll find than the Spanish supporters are not so forgiving

I accept his choice to leave if that’s what he wants but I thinkIll get my old Torres voodoo doll out and put Phils head on it and stick needles in it every night. It worked on Nando for 4 years.

Summer might be too late, they have other targets, do you want us to be lumbered with a player who doesn't want to be here?

I believe if we get rid now, we can bring in a suitable replacement by the end of January, should we not, it is what it is. We'll get by.

Nevermind what you think, it's what Coutinho wants, it's his decision, let him be he wants out so let him go, it's the inevitable. Though I have lost respect for him somewhat, I wish him the best of luck WHEN he leaves. There's no real point in rambling on about it or keeping him until the summer, he's going whether we like it or not. It might as well be now whilst we can get a good price for him.

01 Jan 2018 02:23:22
Man Utd could with De Gea so why can't we? We are not bigger than them anymore. I'm just sick of Barca's antics regarding deadlines (there must be a dozen of them every year) . If they really want Pipco than they should do like our owners who showed them how it's done .

01 Jan 2018 03:15:15
I hope we keep him no matter what but if he goes it will be nice to get LEMAR or try to get KEITA early.

01 Jan 2018 04:10:41
If Coutinho goes this month itself, then would like to see the Kieta move being fast tracked and another wide player like Draxler or Brandt signed.

01 Jan 2018 09:53:55
it will be a gamble to keep Couts this window. If we do then it's a case of does his recurring back injury show up again whilst he looks for his dummy or does he continue this current form he is in. Either way it could make or break the season and it's a risk to sell or keep. I'm sure Klopp will have his say and then Henry will make the final call.

{Ed025's Note - i think he will go jayden and will be a big loss to the reds, hes been a bit of a dick head but still a quality player..

01 Jan 2018 10:45:45
Ello ed do u have an idea if we will look too replace him with maybe a lemar, kovacivic, draxler or someone of that nature if he is sold or do u think we have already spent the coutihno money with vvd, also I should imagine studge will leave so do u think we will look too replace him also I know u ain't a wizard a can't predict future but it all helps, all the best by the way for new year.

{Ed001's Note - transfers do not work like that, we cannot 'spend the Coutinho money'.}

01 Jan 2018 11:14:14
Which ever way this ends, I just hope we can keep going and make top 4 this season.

01 Jan 2018 01:33:10
Fun post for the start of the window (in honour of Leon G. ) - let's list them players that through this site's years were "all but done" or "announced imminently".
I will get the ball rolling with Arda Turan, Simao and kun (or maybe Ken :-) ) Aguero.

01 Jan 2018 11:46:53
Didn’t the blues say they're getting simeone and instead got samione?

My last post was a reply too (Europe is yellow) few posts up (Salah) (Noski) am referring too my friend he was the original poster of the kun Aguero shout under his name Barryproudfoot even though most here thought it was funny at the time he was in a lonely place and come on here for his love of the site and unfortunately couldn’t take it any longer. In his note he left it was clear he just felt lonely and couldn’t take people taking the p*ss out off him with the post that’s why everytime i see the reference to it (kun) it upsets me anyway he was a lovely lad am sure his head wasn’t in the right place and it just tipped him over the edge R.
