Have Juventus now moved on from Can? And if so, there are probably not too many teams about that would be willing to meet our valuation of him. With no potential buyers, does that mean he would be more likely to sign an extension, or would he run down his contract and leave on a free next year?

Nick

{Ed002's Note - Whilst the transfer window is open and with Juventus still looking for such a player they may well come calling.}

Any Eds or posters know where the rumours of PSG interest in Lallana has come from? Surely nonsense.

Nick

1.) 27 Nov 2016 14:44:33
Paper nonsense. I can't see Lallana switching to Paris.

2.) 28 Nov 2016 08:32:49
Another daft story but I believe if he keeps playing like he has been (once he's back) then a lot of clubs will be interested come summer.

3.) 28 Nov 2016 09:14:12
Can't imagine he will want to go anywhere, Klopp has turned his career around in a way, he will want to stick with Klopp as long a possible.

4.) 28 Nov 2016 12:51:40
Pretty sure I saw S*n as their source so.

5.) 28 Nov 2016 13:25:56
Why would he go there?

6.) 28 Nov 2016 14:59:49
Very true Mikey, why change when you've only just began. under Klopp he's something else, it'd be stupid for him to want elsewhere unless of course it's only the wages he's bothered about.

7.) 28 Nov 2016 20:40:28
He's 28, his contract ends in July 2019, and I just read a story somewhere that LFC is going to offer him a 3 year extension. So I don't see much in this story. Unless Adam decides he really wants the money they through at him. Can happen.

8.) 28 Nov 2016 21:29:25
The lad has always been a good player. He struggled to adapt at first because of expectations, but having good/ better players around him makes life easier, and isn't necessarily down to the manager.

I'm sure that many teams sniffed around him at Southampton.

{Ed001's Note - they did Davey, Arsenal tried to buy him a number of times, and we did.}

9.) 28 Nov 2016 21:36:55
I can 100% understand the Arsenal link and think he would have been an valuable addition to that squad.

10.) 29 Nov 2016 21:46:15
As he was to ours :-)

11.) 03 Dec 2016 02:45:31
There's great lap dancing clubs in Paris so he may be tempted. .

22 Aug 2013 09:41:46
Sorry to ask the eds, but is there any substance to the Will Hughes story? I hope so, he has a lot about him. {Ed002's Note - There is certainly interest from Liverpool.}

Nick

1.) If we pay 10 mil for him i'll give up. honestly

2.) 22 Aug 2013 12:52:55
Then you are not much of a supporter. What if we do pay that amount and he goes on to be a new Dalglish. Will you come back as a supporter then?

3.) LionRed - have you seen him play? I watched him at Brighton a couple of weeks ago. The kid is a class.

Feels like the calm before the storm.

Nick

1.) 06 Dec 2017 17:51:05
Well, it is in Scotland 🤝.

2.) 06 Dec 2017 18:31:43
I know. The tension is unbearable. I reckon it'll finish Ed001 7-3 Ed002.

3.) 06 Dec 2017 18:49:55
Whoever gets Ron will have the most positive half time talk ever given 😂.

09 Sep 2017 14:29:16
Klopp out! Total disgrace!

Joking aside, I would prefer to lose 5-0 at City than 1-0 at home to Arsenal or whoever. We shall have to suck this one up and move on.

Nick

1.) 09 Sep 2017 14:42:57
Called it. The Klopp out bridge has been let out. Go back to bed Nick.

2.) 09 Sep 2017 14:54:23
Aw the EDs didn’t put my 2nd post through xD
I said "I forgot to add 'jokes' but soon the proper Klopp out brigade will be out haha"

3.) 10 Sep 2017 08:23:29
Forgot to add "Jokes" to the end.
Waiting for the genuine ones to pop up though haha.

So is all our squad back injury free?!? Can't remember the last time that happened. The internationals may have even done us a favour getting Hendo a bit more match fit.

Does anyone know if his heel/ foot is cured, or is it still being managed? He doesn't appear to have a limp or anything so hopefully it is pretty good now!

Nick

1.) 06 Sep 2017 17:17:02
Lallana is still injured isn't he?

2.) 06 Sep 2017 17:24:15
He is, but I was referring to our players that played in the internationals or went away and trained with their national teams.

3.) 06 Sep 2017 17:42:16
And clyne.

4.) 06 Sep 2017 17:45:54
Oh sorry nick, I misunderstood your statement. Thought you meant injury free in general. But you mean, no one got injured on international duty. Great news. And yeah, Hendo is looking sharp eh.

5.) 06 Sep 2017 17:52:47
hendo looks far better now, bt i think his injury can just come back at any time.

maybe he's abit better in managing the injury himself. hope he stays fit for the whole season.

6.) 06 Sep 2017 18:02:55
Too right kaiser. I simply cannot get my head around some people's opinion that Hendo isn't that good? BRILLIANT CAPTAIN.

7.) 06 Sep 2017 21:23:55
Injury was the only thing that prevented Lallana getting injured during the current round of internationals.

8.) 07 Sep 2017 12:02:08
I think Nick meant no injuries from the international break, Superred, which does make a pleasant change!

9.) 07 Sep 2017 12:05:46
It can go anytime and there isn't a proper cure I don't think. The only real one is rupturing the heel but I think ed said that's something like an accident and still not even 100%.

I have the same thing so can actually relate. It's a joke nth. So painful and debilitating. Oh and there s no warnings of it. And yes even after years it can come back with a vengeance.

So even though he's good now, there isn't actually anything he is doing to stop it coming back or is past it. So fingers crossed it stays away for him and he can crack on.

The only thing that I did was stop wearing studs and move to blades and where jell heel pads. Nth I didn't suffer much afterwards but not contributing it to that. Just something i did. Oh and starting trying to run more on my toes than heels, just a tad but stopped crashing down on my heel so much.

Question for the Eds or anyone who knows, regarding Emre (or any player whose contract runs down) .

Is it assumed that if a player runs down his contract and isn't sold before it comes to an end that he will be leaving the club? Or would the club (LFC in Emre's case) be happy to pay the player the equivalent of the signing on fee that he would get if he went to a new club?

Obviously not great financial management but does it happen?

The question is asked because I don't want to lose hope of keeping the lad, especially as I read earlier that Man U were taking a look at him!

Nick

{Ed002's Note - No it doesn't happen Nick.}

1.) 05 Sep 2017 16:22:37
It must be very financially beneficial to the player to let his contract run down, and being a bit cynical I am surprised that more players don't do it. I remember reading that Sol Campbell never got sold by a club, but always left on free transfers. He must have got paid as much in signing on fees as he did in wages over his career.

2.) 05 Sep 2017 17:40:41
Players get a fairly decent wage rise these days each time they sign a new contract though so it probably balances out.

02 Sep 2017 21:53:01
Am hoping that we don't lose Emre, but I have convinced myself that he is off to Juventus next year.

A question for Ed 2 - do you think there is any way in a million years that Can doesn't know what contract Juventus will be offering him in January?

Nick

{Ed002's Note - He will likely know.}

1.) 02 Sep 2017 22:11:41
Hes a great player and is now confident enough to stake a claim to be 1st name on the team sheet,

I reckon that he will see how it goes berween now and Jan.

2.) 03 Sep 2017 08:40:19
We have to do all we have to keep him as it would be a shame to let him go now after he has come good.

Just give him the 100 grand a week and a fair release clause and be done with it. Cheaper than buying a replacement and he is going to just keep getting better.

Nick

{Ed002's Note - I have not said that they have no legal basis in the UK. You all need to forget about clauses.}

If VVD wants to move, it's up to him to decide what to do. He's a grown man with a team of very well paid advisors, and I am sure he will do what is best for himself. Obviously we have handled the situation like a gang of imbeciles, but I wouldn't get too teary for VVD or Southampton. Players join clubs and they then leave.

As many have said, if Couts decides it is best for him and his family that he moves to Barca, we will have to accept that too. Top level players decide where they are going to play - contracts mean very little.

Have to agree with MK. You'd have to be half witted to pay to pay anywhere close to that.

Interesting about Millie Ed 2. I would have thought he would be pretty much un-move-onable due to his high wage. I hope we keep him for all sorts of reasons, but I didn't think that there would be many clubs that could afford him that would need him.

Nick

{Ed002's Note - His wages are irrelevant if he moves.}

Migs isn't the worst, but he's also light years from great. I don't like knee jerk reactions, but he has had 3 full years. Face it, he isn't going to get any better and he simply isn't good enough. You don't have to be a great GK critic to see that.

I have only seen 3 or 4 games that he has played in this season, but he looks absolute tripe. Not worth 7 million let alone 70. Are you having a laugh? World has gone bonkers. It's like the Emperors clothes - no one seems to want to say how cr*p he is.

I thought the coefficient malarky had stopped, and England was now guaranteed 4 places in the CL no matter what.

That's what makes it so exciting! Edge of your seat stuff - even 3-0 up at half time and you just never know.

The thing is I'm not sure how long my heart can take it - it's never an easy ride!

I have to say I agree with you, but I would go a bit further tbh. He is way better than all of our CB's and I find it hard to imagine exactly what he must have done to be sent packing like that. Surely it can't just be for being late a few times and such. If we were mown out with good cb's then fair enough, but we have been kind of desperate in that department, partly because Klopp banished him.

I hope there is some other reason for the whole saga, cus from where I am sat it's like having a porsche in the garage but choosing to cycle to work in the rain.
