Any Eds or posters know where the rumours of PSG interest in Lallana has come from? Surely nonsense.

Nick

1.) 27 Nov 2016 14:44:33
Paper nonsense. I can't see Lallana switching to Paris.

2.) 28 Nov 2016 08:32:49
Another daft story but I believe if he keeps playing like he has been (once he's back) then a lot of clubs will be interested come summer.

3.) 28 Nov 2016 09:14:12
Can't imagine he will want to go anywhere, Klopp has turned his career around in a way, he will want to stick with Klopp as long a possible.

4.) 28 Nov 2016 12:51:40
Pretty sure I saw S*n as their source so.

5.) 28 Nov 2016 13:25:56
Why would he go there?

6.) 28 Nov 2016 14:59:49
Very true Mikey, why change when you've only just began. under Klopp he's something else, it'd be stupid for him to want elsewhere unless of course it's only the wages he's bothered about.

7.) 28 Nov 2016 20:40:28
He's 28, his contract ends in July 2019, and I just read a story somewhere that LFC is going to offer him a 3 year extension. So I don't see much in this story. Unless Adam decides he really wants the money they through at him. Can happen.

8.) 28 Nov 2016 21:29:25
The lad has always been a good player. He struggled to adapt at first because of expectations, but having good/ better players around him makes life easier, and isn't necessarily down to the manager.

I'm sure that many teams sniffed around him at Southampton.

{Ed001's Note - they did Davey, Arsenal tried to buy him a number of times, and we did.}

9.) 28 Nov 2016 21:36:55
I can 100% understand the Arsenal link and think he would have been an valuable addition to that squad.

10.) 29 Nov 2016 21:46:15
As he was to ours :-)

11.) 03 Dec 2016 02:45:31
There's great lap dancing clubs in Paris so he may be tempted. .

22 Aug 2013 09:41:46
Sorry to ask the eds, but is there any substance to the Will Hughes story? I hope so, he has a lot about him. {Ed002's Note - There is certainly interest from Liverpool.}

Nick

1.) If we pay 10 mil for him i'll give up. honestly

2.) 22 Aug 2013 12:52:55
Then you are not much of a supporter. What if we do pay that amount and he goes on to be a new Dalglish. Will you come back as a supporter then?

3.) LionRed - have you seen him play? I watched him at Brighton a couple of weeks ago. The kid is a class.

Just wanted to say what a prospect Ithink TAA is. Some players look out of their depth when they first go into the first team, and some players look comfortable. TAA to me looks like it is just the next step for him. The lad oozes class and composure. Really hoping he continues his progression, as he looks the real deal to me.

As a side note, don't forget how young Can is please people. Inconsistent yes he is, but if people can't see his potential they need to give their heads a wobble! Many other midfielders his age better than him? Can't think of many to be honest. I hope we get his contract sorted out.

Nick

1.) 04 Apr 2017 18:20:08
I was impressed with TAA in the Derby when he came on, he got on the ball a few times and took a couple of shots so he didn't let the occasion phase him so fair play to the lad. There's something about Can too that I like, I really hope his contract situation gets sorted.

2.) 04 Apr 2017 19:37:51
If he keeps developing and remains humble and hard-working, he will be a good player for us at RB as he is great on the ball and has good end product on his crosses. Also, Klopp rates him highly so here's to hoping he can put it all together.

Anyone else feel a draw against Newcastle coming up?

Nick

1.) 26 Oct 2016 12:13:24
No, we' ll beat them.

2.) 26 Oct 2016 15:05:37
Would be great to see Rafa back at Anfield. And yes Annie - hopefully we will do better than a draw if we are drawn!

3.) 26 Oct 2016 18:25:08
I said in the live chat room yesterday that Newcastle was the only team I didn't want simply because of the Rafa factor.

But I hope we meet in the finals! I think we'll get one of the teams playing tonight.

4.) 26 Oct 2016 19:03:16
We`ll be fine wherever we play them.

25 Jul 2015 12:31:30
If West Brom get Diaby on a pay as you play deal, they have a great player. Only problem with him is injuries, but when he is fit he is one of the best players in the PL. Shame we have too many midfielders already, would have taken him in a heartbeat.

Nick

1.) 25 Jul 2015 12:49:00
That's a joke, right?

2.) 25 Jul 2015 12:59:14
Injuries always make players better than they ever were. People make this kind of ridiculous statement it's the same for sturridge it was the same for wilshire flanno etc

3.) 25 Jul 2015 14:00:27
Torres??

4.) 25 Jul 2015 14:17:19
It's pointless even on a pay as you play. Even if he was fit he may not be the player he was, he also takes up another place in the squad that comes at a cost to someone else. You couldn't build a team around him and would just end up using more resource trying to get him fit. He's made 32 appearances in 4 years ( including as a sub) he's never managed over 30 in a season. Every club should steer well clear.

5.) 25 Jul 2015 14:43:08
Would be another BR masterstroke. Would be nice for Sturridge to have a friend in the physio room though.

6.) 25 Jul 2015 14:10:57
Sam

Injuries create a fear in your mind of not repeating it again. People often become cautious and doesn't try enough.

Lucas is the biggest example.

7.) 25 Jul 2015 15:17:43
So it was a joke, then.

8.) 25 Jul 2015 18:29:42
He is decent, but nothing more. As for players trying less after injuries, EG, that is a massive generalisation and it depends entirely on the player in question.

9.) 26 Jul 2015 00:46:41
And the type of injury fornax. Harry is being harry best to just ignore him when he is in this mood.

It's not easy to make City look poor. For those criticising Raheem, just ask Kompany if he thought he was poor! Don't ever remember Kompany looking like that before - he was all over the place. If a 20 year old can make one of the best defenders in the world look like a park footballer, he must have done alright. He's not the finished article but give the lad a break.

Nick

1.) 01 Mar 2015 17:58:24
Well said nick . Can't believe some people can still complain after we just beat the champions .
YNWA

2.) 01 Mar 2015 18:49:21
I've no complaints. Was a good performance. Now we have to keep it up.

3.) 01 Mar 2015 19:02:09
Kompany has been poor all season and was erratic last season but because he is widely accepted as one of the best defenders around, no one ever really questions him. Need an example? See how Terrymakes so many mistakes but is still the greatest to all media.

4.) 01 Mar 2015 22:32:01
Sterling was good today BUT his decision-making and precision shooting in the final third STILL needs tonnes of work. Kompany has been poor but defender like him and Mangala he was aweful as well) do not like strikers like Studge, Sterling and Lallana who are constantly on the move and drag them into wide areas where they are vulnerable and each time they were, they looked terrible. BR shouldget the credit for getting the boys ready after a gruelling week and for attacking City where they are most vulnerable.

I reckon that it is players like Flanagan that have helped galvanise our team performance. We used to be a bit faint hearted playing away from home (which was a constant source of annoyance for me) but in the last 4 months we have found the necessary steel in our belief when playing away from Anfield, and I know it's a bit of a weird thing to say, but I think at least some of it is down to Flanagan. Not just in his performances, which have been spot on apart from a few errors, but the rest of the team seem to want to put in an extra bit of effort to see him do well. I might be seeing things that aren't there, but I hope that he continues pushing for a place in the first team for a long time. That turn to set up Coutinho was inspired. I am made up for the lad, and I also confess that I didn't think he would make the step up. I hope he keeps rubbing my face in it.

Have to agree with MK. You'd have to be half witted to pay to pay anywhere close to that.

Interesting about Millie Ed 2. I would have thought he would be pretty much un-move-onable due to his high wage. I hope we keep him for all sorts of reasons, but I didn't think that there would be many clubs that could afford him that would need him.

Nick

{Ed002's Note - His wages are irrelevant if he moves.}

Interesting question really in who screwed up most and least last year. Conte must be said to have screwed up least, although it did look a bit wobbly for the first few weeks. But, he had a title winning squad. Spurs overperformed more than anyone.

IMO, pep probably did worst out of the top 6, followed by Wenger. They both really should have done better. Next worse, Mourinho. Europa saved his bacon, but in fairness he won it. Would have been a disaster for Utd as a club if he hadn't won it and got into CL.

So my order of managers who screwed up last season, in ascending order is :

Poch
Conte
klopp
Mou
Wenger
Pep.

I never felt nervous when Danny Murphy was taking a penalty. Best penalty taker I have seen.
