Hello eds. Just wondering what you think might be in the future for Yarmolenko? I used the search and saw some chatter months back about him but I value your folks great input. Surely he is set for a big club soon but honestly what are our chances? I know you've explained our Financials but wondering if he is on our radar and whether we realistically have any shot. Big thanks for this rocky Mountain red.

PeteColo

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has shown no interest.

Dynamo Kyiv managed to persuade Yarmolenko not to move this past summer and managed to get him to sign a new contract. There has been interest over the past year from Roma, Spurs, Stoke, Fiorentina, Everton, Inter and Dortmund.

Bayer Leverkusen, Valencia, Napoli and Manchester City all dropped their interest and PSG, who were considering Yarmolenko as a possible option to replace Lavezzi this past summer, seem to have done the same - at least for now but there is a reasonable chance Lavezzi could move in January. Yarmolenko has expressed a desire to move to Barcelona or Chelsea - and there has been more than one approach made directly to the Chelsea to gauge their interest. Right now it looks like Barcelona are considering their options for a January bid, but much will depend for them on an entirely separate matter. Whilst an approach was made to the agent of Yarmolenko by Arsenal in the summer, nothing could be done.

He spent the summer screwing everyone around and there is still a lingering view he could do the same in January. I don't know if anything can be done or if Arsenal or Barcelona will push, but Piero Ausilio was at a recent game to look again at him - so Inter might still be in the mix.}

Thank you sir as always for the great insight and info.

Hello EDS,

I saw the bleacher article talking about players out on loan and guys like Lazar and wisdom who could be of use andor interest to Klopp. What type of contractual issues do our loaners present IF we recalled in Jan? Do you realistically see any of them coming back based on need Or will the finances dictate.

Grazie.

PeteColo

{Ed001's Note - we would have to agree a deal to end the loans with the club that have loaned them. It would really depend on if Klopp thinks they are what he needs and if they are getting games for their team. For some reason Alex Neil is not using Wisdom, even though the alternative is the worst right back in British football, Steven Whittaker, who is absolutely hopeless. So it would probably be a bit easier to sort a deal out with them.}

Really looking forward to Lallana's return in a month or so. I think he brings that added skill to the mids that we are lacking in games as of late. Can is not a defensive mid but no doubt he is tough as nails and I would rather see him be deployed back over hendo. He might be a red waiting to happen but he does not shy away, is not afraid to yell at others and Franky I think it's time for Hendo to not have an automatic starting position unless he improves.

nothing going to change my friend we will still be the same team, Minolet, Karius or ward, Hendo or Can we will still be the same team.

2.) 20 Sep 2017 08:16:24
Lets see people cope with Mane, Firminho, Salah and a fitter Coutinho in a few weeks. It won't fix the defence but will increase our chances significantly.

Hello Eds. Quick question what do you feel the odds might be for example if we sold coutinho and went after some of our long-standing targets in the January transfer? I'm not sure of Red Bull Champions League games start but if for example they are out of it by the break might they be more willing to negotiate a transfer at that time? I know the January Market is usually not the greatest and is often overpriced but just wondering if you think there could be a chance that if we sold coutinho we might realistically have the opportunity to invest some of those funds in quality players and not have to wait for the following year. Thanks.

PeteColo

{Ed002's Note - I don't know who these "long standing" targets are.}

1.) 12 Aug 2017 00:56:27
fair point ed002.

who are our alternatives to keita and vvd. we do not appear to have any.

surely a manager would hve more thna one option for each positiion in the squad he wishes to fill.

i can't blame coutinho for wanting out. this was a perfect summer for us to sign 3-4 top quality players and no offense to solanke and robertson but the have not proven themselves to be top qualit at the highest level. lack of ambition and resultantly silverware means our besties will always seek pastures new where they can fulfill their dreams.

{Ed002's Note - We have been through this over and over. LFC could have done a lot better if they had behaved professionally - may Klopp will have learned a lesson - maybe not, The laughing clown personna has gone and he is seemingly seeking sympathy with the hobo look and alcoholic's red nose. I doubt he can keep this up all season. Keita was never going to be a Coutinho replacement - now they need to take stock and decide on the way forward.}

2.) 12 Aug 2017 01:19:26
i never expected keita to be a coutinho replacement.

but why does klopp only seem to have one individual target in mind for each position in the squad he wants to strengthen? this seems inane.

3.) 12 Aug 2017 01:57:27
Klopp will have learned a lesson? At what cost though? One of the Eds mentioned he was guilty of pulling off the same nonsense at BVB too. Did FSG not warn him when giving him the job? Or were they so oblivious to the situation?
We all pan Suarez, Sterling for bringing disrepute to the club through their conduct so why should Klopp be given any leeway for his actions? So far he has failed miserably in what is the club's most important transfer window to keep pace with the big boys but he has ballsed it up completely.
Has anyone seen the fan reaction to the whole situation now? They expected progress and instead will be treated to a untenable situation with Coutinho and failure to land any of our top targets.
Really looking forward to the Watford game hoping it will take my mind off this disaster and nothing less than a win will do.

4.) 12 Aug 2017 03:38:45
Ed002 so correct he does look like a hobo. How the hell that guy cracked the LFC job interview?
It's going to be a downhill season by the looks of him. He is out of sorts. I think he looks fed up of the job and pressure. We aren't media darlings are we. But it prepares him for Bayern only the second most hated club in Germany.

5.) 12 Aug 2017 01:58:17
Klopp has lost the laughing clown persona and looks like a hobo? I don't see how Klopp looks any different to how he always looks? He's always had stubble, he's always been a drinker and he's always been a smoker. As for dropping the laughing clown persona, yeah, because he was so unentertaining at the Audi Cup presser?! Come on ed!

Klopp has stated before that he will not force a player to stay if he does not want to be here. Couts may be conducting himself professionally but if he did in fact ask klopp to go you got to figure this tips the scale to him actually leaving.

So WHO said he asked Klopp, he wanted to go.

Don't remember him saying any of that, OP. I do remember him saying that no player he wants to work with will be sold. In fact, he vetoed Lewandowski's move to Bayern in 2013 after he had just lost Goetze to the same team (triggered his release clause), a pseudo situation we are now facing now with Lallana being injured for 3 months and Cou wanting a move to Barca.

Lewa played out his final season and left on a free to Bayern. This shows that Klopp is able to dig his heels in which hopefully, he is doing and the owners had better tow the line.

Hello Eds. Might you be so kind as to give us your opinion of our young guns like woodburn, ok, Kent, ejaria, woodburn, Solanke, etc and if you envision then going out on loan, staying in u23, getting FA cup type minutes or legit minutes with the big boys. Thanks in advance.

PeteColo

{Ed001's Note - it depends on the player and the offers that come in but most are expected to get cup games and provide depth on the bench.}

1.) 02 Aug 2017 04:58:17
Thanks sir. Its promising to know we have a good amount of youth with such quality.

{Ed001's Note - it is very promising, the issue is that the club now have to find ways to get them regular football and allow them to develop. Just sending them out on loan en masse does not really help develop them for the club, so there needs to be a balance found to get them games in the first team.}

The thing that sucks here is anytime he is injured skeptical folks like me will question if he is really injured or pushing yet again for the either door ala his previous "back injury"

Could he play L Wing? Does he have speed? I like him as a player but isn't he more of a center mid?

Sturridge has not been given enough time but when he has he has not been all that impressive. I hope this is just getting the rust off but if not then I fear his time is over. I agree all you said. Bobby to me critical to this offense and like another point out the net gain of goals is zero even if u bring in a top striker because a top striker will likely not create what Bobby does.
