Hello eds. Just wondering what you think might be in the future for Yarmolenko? I used the search and saw some chatter months back about him but I value your folks great input. Surely he is set for a big club soon but honestly what are our chances? I know you've explained our Financials but wondering if he is on our radar and whether we realistically have any shot. Big thanks for this rocky Mountain red.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has shown no interest.

Dynamo Kyiv managed to persuade Yarmolenko not to move this past summer and managed to get him to sign a new contract. There has been interest over the past year from Roma, Spurs, Stoke, Fiorentina, Everton, Inter and Dortmund.

Bayer Leverkusen, Valencia, Napoli and Manchester City all dropped their interest and PSG, who were considering Yarmolenko as a possible option to replace Lavezzi this past summer, seem to have done the same - at least for now but there is a reasonable chance Lavezzi could move in January. Yarmolenko has expressed a desire to move to Barcelona or Chelsea - and there has been more than one approach made directly to the Chelsea to gauge their interest. Right now it looks like Barcelona are considering their options for a January bid, but much will depend for them on an entirely separate matter. Whilst an approach was made to the agent of Yarmolenko by Arsenal in the summer, nothing could be done.

He spent the summer screwing everyone around and there is still a lingering view he could do the same in January. I don't know if anything can be done or if Arsenal or Barcelona will push, but Piero Ausilio was at a recent game to look again at him - so Inter might still be in the mix.}

Hello EDS,

I saw the bleacher article talking about players out on loan and guys like Lazar and wisdom who could be of use andor interest to Klopp. What type of contractual issues do our loaners present IF we recalled in Jan? Do you realistically see any of them coming back based on need Or will the finances dictate.

{Ed001's Note - we would have to agree a deal to end the loans with the club that have loaned them. It would really depend on if Klopp thinks they are what he needs and if they are getting games for their team. For some reason Alex Neil is not using Wisdom, even though the alternative is the worst right back in British football, Steven Whittaker, who is absolutely hopeless. So it would probably be a bit easier to sort a deal out with them.}

Hello Eds and all. What is the game plan when couts comes back? Firmino is such a talent but the last few games when put wider he just does not seem nearly as effective. His goal rate is lower than Origi who seems to score every game but. well we all know what he brings. it would seem unfortunate for origi or firmino to be taken out of the 11. T
Also what is the plan when mane leaves. It does not seem we hhave anyone with that pure speed other than ojo. Might this be time to force a firmino and origi front line?

1.) 12 Dec 2016 06:18:36
Two up front would be the best way to go forward. Firmino is not a wide player which is clear by now. You are wasting a world class talent aumply playing him out of his comfort zone. He need to be between defenders where his movement is world class.
I have said it in the past we need another Mane.

2.) 12 Dec 2016 10:14:38
Agreed harry.

3.) 12 Dec 2016 19:07:16
If origi Carey's on scoring I don't see how klopp could drop origi for couts, firmino has been awful so he should be dropped. Love to see a rear striker on the pitch.

Eds what are your thoughts on klavan thus far? I think it was Nichols last night on the American broadcast that said something along the lines of solid. nothing fancy but consistent and solid and exactly what you need in a center back. I have been pleased with what I have seen thus far. He seems to be
Solid defensively, does not get burned alla lovren, no rash challenges like skittles and his pasing doeant raise my blood pressure like sahko. I hope he has a chance to start. Thoughts.

{Ed001's Note - I don't watch friendlies, they are irrelevant and tell you nothing about how a player will perform. I gave up watching them years ago when I realised how false an impression they give you of players' abilities.}

1.) 31 Jul 2016 16:32:27
Will be interesting to see how our defenders perform against Barcelona when the likes of Suarez and Messi will be playing, but so far there hasn't really been much of a challenge for our back 4. Moreno didn't even look bad last night.

2.) 31 Jul 2016 18:26:36
Thanks ed. Totally understand. Hope this translates to the regular season as he has been rock steady this far.

3.) 31 Jul 2016 21:42:47
So you won't even watch us play against Barcelona ed next week?

{Ed001's Note - even? Barca do not interest me in the slightest. They are one of the reasons football is being destroyed. I really can't stand them or Real Madrid.}

4.) 31 Jul 2016 22:40:52
'Friendlies are irrelevant', absolute rubbish Ed001. Tell that to the youngsters trying to get a look in!

{Ed001's Note - whatever, they are just training matches.}

5.) 01 Aug 2016 08:12:39
Firstly sakho has the best pass completion rate of all or cb's so quiet why he raises anyones blood pressure i don't know.

Second i agreed ragnar looks solid and neat in possession, but also agree with ed. We will not see what any of our players are made off until the season kicks off. We will then see who is really up for the fight when the going gets tough.

6.) 01 Aug 2016 09:40:52
Why? You not go the games much? He's like Bambi on ice in situations, especially when he dillies on the ball. I think people recognise his talent and ability, but there is that element of doubt based on those moments.

7.) 01 Aug 2016 09:49:48
I agree ed. I stopped taking them seriously when I seen Torres completely useless, and Voronin amazing.

8.) 01 Aug 2016 13:31:11
Carlitoc i guess i'm not as flakey as some people and recognise that he rarely gives the ball away and more often than not he finds his man. Believe me there are plenty of other things in my life that warrant raising my blood pressure which is already too high.

05 Jul 2016 02:01:38
Hello eds. I see posters referring to Henderson having been injured and how, when healthy, he is a step above what we have. Is his injury one that can or has healed? I thought it would not be better or at least pain free until it ruptured. If that is the case what can we expect from him this season?

{Ed001's Note - it should be healed now it has ruptured.}

26 May 2016 17:20:52
Question for eds. Is there a different mentality with players now compared to years back? It seems so many base their movement on champions league. Totally get that champions League gives a bigger profile but is seems more often than not youngsters moves backfire as in they are not starting, their developemnt slows, etc. Are agents pushing them? Are they just naive, stupid or cocky? Just wondring because it just seems like a poor career move for anyone unless they are just really that good or that age or develoment state were they are near their peak. I come from a fan prospective obviously but still baffeled.

{Ed001's Note - yes it has changed a lot.}

19 May 2016 02:48:30
Eds, now that we did not secure champions or europa how do you envision this impacting the squad next year? You have consistently said that the squad needs trimmed but wonder how you envision things now that we will have less games per se.

Pete not feeling so rocky Mountain high.

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't worry mate, it will not make a major impact, not this season. If we failed again next season it would, but we got to two major finals and there are clear signs of a rebirth under Klopp.}

1.) 19 May 2016 05:17:26
He's already said he doesn't want a player that only wants to play in the champions league. Kinda with him on that.

No way firmino is on borrowed time. Yes he has not been stellar but has talent and needs time to adjust. Next year we should see whether or not he has the ability to remain. How many players from other leagues needed a year to adust? Lana I'd another case. He has been in the EPL a whole now and probably hot his peak
A good player but not quality enough for LFC unless he is an impact sub.

Was it me or the minute Coutihno stepped on the pitch you could see the return of a great bromance w/ firmino? Seriously. you see how we tick much betters with couts and Firmino center. Yes. HendoS return was equally important.

Agree with MK but united have a hx of winning ugly so we can't take the lightly. They are not playing great but they showing signs of promise unfortinately. The top six is going to be tight. If couts and matip can come back and stay healthy I think we will get top 4.maybe even (won't jinx us)

Agree but how do we integrate him w/ o taking out the untouchables; coutihno, firmino, mane and lallana? It's a good problem to have for sure!
