Does seem complete rubbish but seen some places like the echo reporting that we are monitoring pulisic?

jordz

{Ed002's Note - What does "monitoring" mean?

1.) 12 Mar 2021 19:00:03
They put one of them ankle bracelets on so he doesn't leave the country.

27 Jul 2020 08:24:49
Seen German outlets like the Bild linking lfc with the CB at Schalke Kabak. Is there truth to this Ed's?

jordz

{Ed002's Note - I don't know - I will try and find out later. Obviously not first choice for Klopp.}

1.) 27 Jul 2020 11:10:09
I actually typed his name and i can see you responded two years ago about him on this page. You mention he is a good CB and host of clubs were interested the likes of man city and united.
I know Diego Carlos was first priority, I wonder if he is the clubs second alternative due to C.V.?

{Ed002's Note - I think Llorente would be second choice as I say. Never being HG is a big deal as the rules will tighten. That is why clubs will continue to look at the likes of Ben White, Dael Fry and Ben Godfrey. If Liverpool simply want to replace Lovren then Nat Phillips should be considered - he is well thought of in Germany.}

2.) 27 Jul 2020 11:31:24
I’d like to see Phillips given a chance to impress in training at least, we don’t know how long we may struggle for income and as a 4th choice player who would cost us nothing would be great.

Our annual wage bill is HUGE, and if we can lose some of the higher earners who don’t play as much with young talent internally that would be a big bonus.

3.) 27 Jul 2020 11:36:59
Does being English on its own count as being homegrown? For example, Jonathan Panzo; a young, English, LB and CB, really well thought of but playing in Belgium this year on loan from Monaco. I believe he came through at Chelsea so would he count as homegrown?

He's spent a few of his developing years outside of the country. This is just an example, I know you've not mentioned him. Although if we've been looking at those three then I think we could've and probably should've looked at Panzo.

{Ed002's Note - Nationality is not relevant, the player needs to spend three years bwteen 16 and 21 playing for clubs in the same Football Association - so England and Wales. Panzo could yet become Home Grown in England if he moved back this summer, or even next. But there is no intention to do that and he was at Monaco's feeder club to gain experienced and returned to Monaco with the othe half dozen players they had on loan there. Liverpool has shown no interest.}

4.) 27 Jul 2020 12:14:54
Thanks Ed. Interesting and with some top talent deciding to uproot and get game time in other countries at the start of their careers now this could force clubs to start listening to their demands, especially the big clubs who want to fill their homegrown quota with the best of the homegrown talent.

{Ed002's Note - Right, and keep in mid that it more a case of when not if the quota will change in the PL.}

5.) 27 Jul 2020 12:08:16
I see this Kabak kid recieved the "rookie of the year"prize in his 1st season in Germany beating Sancho among others to it. must be very highly rated.

6.) 27 Jul 2020 12:32:46
Good to know that Nat Phillips is getting good reviews in Germany. It will only enhance his stock with the coaching staff should we not sign a CB and just fast-track him into the first team.

7.) 27 Jul 2020 12:28:17
So ed just hypothetically, if we loaned out Elliot for 3 years now until he’s 21 aboard - is he no longer considered home grown? Or as the parent club, does it still count?

{Ed002's Note - He would not be registered with Liverpool so it doesn't count.}

8.) 27 Jul 2020 13:20:25
ed002 I can't see how Nat Phillips could be any worse than Lovren at 31 still seems to make the same mistakes every time he plays. what a dream pair Lovren and Luiz would be.

9.) 27 Jul 2020 13:26:39
ed002 if his loans are in England would he be ok.

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

10.) 27 Jul 2020 17:23:25
Thoughts on sepp van de berg Or hoever stepping up as cover with matip and gomez playing with VVD?

11.) 28 Jul 2020 00:43:42
The Fat Kid says we're close to agreeing a deal. So that obviously means that we're not interested in reality.

12.) 28 Jul 2020 01:25:46
sepp van de berg looks shaky to say the least, therefore I personally haven’t been impressed so far. Hoever to me looks like he could be class but maybe needs a bit more time or even a loan to help him kick on. I like the way he can play RB as well, he looks like he could be a real gem.

13.) 28 Jul 2020 11:47:37
Red8 - with these kids it's never a maybe lol they always need time and opportunities!

07 Aug 2019 15:41:33
Have any of the Ed's heard about any interest in shaq? Read a report saying Monaco are interested. Just wondered as I don't think he's been mentioned on the potential outs list.

jordz

{Ed001's Note - there has been a few inquiries during the summer. Shaqiri has said he wants to stay and fight for his place, so I don't think he will be going anywhere with the difficulty in signing a replacement.}

1.) 07 Aug 2019 16:22:44
Better to have someone who wants to fight for his place. Hopefully we can see early 18/ 19 season Shaq again.

2.) 07 Aug 2019 16:28:31
I would personally drive the lad their . I get the fact it’s hard to sign a replacement with such little time but surely their is an option outbtheir for us now unless klopp is being klopp again and quite clearly sees only certain players arriving . I felt the laziness crept in to his game towards the end
Of the season again . Hopefully if he stays he proves me wrong.

{Ed001's Note - actually at the end of the season he picked up his workrate after a dip midseason.}

3.) 07 Aug 2019 18:28:45
One of the better players when he got the chance.

4.) 07 Aug 2019 18:40:30
If they wanted him, they should have acted sooner. No doubt we'd have let him go for the right price and replaced him, but it's too late for us to do that properly now, so it's likely a non-starter.

5.) 08 Aug 2019 10:35:15
Sell him next summer for me if Wilson has shown enough at Bournemouth, ready made replacement.

6.) 12 Aug 2019 00:05:35
Personally think Shaq has a lot to offer if given the chance.

05 Jul 2019 19:22:56
So the Lille president has said to RMC sport that there has been discussions between lfc and Pepe reps. Seems a strange one as Ed002 has said that Pepe will leave this summer and don't see him getting in our first team.

Is there any reason for the president to make such a statement? Is he just trying to drum up some interest?

jordz

{Ed002's Note - He doesn't need to drum up interest. Nicolas Pepe (RW) three sides are in discussions with Lille and they have had two firm offers from one side and a tentative verbal offer from another. Liverpool has not spoken with Lille and have not submitted an offer – if they did it would most likely be as a Salah replacement – I would still not hold your breath.}

1.) 05 Jul 2019 20:19:05
Thanks for clarifying Ed.

Not too fussed about him tbh would rather Salah stay for a further year. Just wondered with the reports in France saying there president had said we had talked to Pepe. Obviously rubbish, probably miss quoted. Thanks again.

{Ed002's Note - I very much doubt Liverpool has talked directly with the player - but they have, as have many sides, spoken with his agent. Other sides have moved on to talk with Lille.}

2.) 05 Jul 2019 21:05:07
So we have spoken with his agent Ed to confirm a certain level of interest to the player. Can I ask please typically how and what might be said when agents are involved? Would it be a case if we have interest in your client. Would he be interested. What are his demands, and in this instance would he be available next year if or when Salah moves on?

Just not sure I fully understand us speaking to his agent if we are not looking at signing him this summer, also knowing that our chance will more than likely be gone as he will move elsewhere?

{Ed002's Note - Clubs and agents talk all of the time. Players are offered, clubs make enquiries - it is simply business as usual.}

3.) 05 Jul 2019 21:12:00
Thanks for the clarification. Hope you have a good weekend.

{Ed002's Note - And you - have a blast.}

4.) 05 Jul 2019 21:15:01
Ed02, it gives me joy when you're in this sort of mood. Your info is highly appreciated. Do have a lovely weekend.

{Ed002's Note - And you - keep it geasy.}

5.) 05 Jul 2019 21:17:53
Thanks Ed002.

6.) 05 Jul 2019 21:17:55
Ok Ed thanks for all your efforts as usual and reply’s to lots of questions today.

Enjoy your evening.

7.) 05 Jul 2019 22:22:47
Are there any Salah developments. We know his agent has been approaching clubs but have any of these approaches progressed any further?

8.) 06 Jul 2019 08:52:31
I don't think Salah will go this summer hence, the Pepe deal won't happen. Like a poster said earlier, I'd rather keep Salah for this season and should he go next season, we will have a whole season to find suitable replacement even tho I'm pretty sure they have been working on his replacement.

09 Jan 2019 23:22:27
Hey Ed's,

Noticed a poster on West Ham rumours IRONMIKE sometimes has decent / fairly reliable info on transfer. He's saying Liverpool have bid 65mil for Tarkowski I mean I really hope he's wrong on that one. Crazy fee.

Any Ed's bearing anything regarding that?

jordz

{Ed002's Note - No, of course not.}

1.) 10 Jan 2019 06:44:14
£65m for Tarkowski would be absolute madness. He’s barely a footballer. Championship standard player with one good season in his career.

2.) 10 Jan 2019 08:34:13
I haven't seen the lad play enough to have an opinion really, the few games I have seen, I've not been impressed one bit but Ed1 did a profile on him back in June, I'll trust his opinion on him and hope we stay well clear.

3.) 10 Jan 2019 09:49:09
Its all good guys i think he just forgot a decimal point.

4.) 10 Jan 2019 10:41:58
.65mil then?

5.) 10 Jan 2019 13:21:40
He may be avergae, but would an avergae youngish cb not be better than two who can’t play more than 5 games In a row. We’ve said even Matip and Lovren can look good next to Van Dijk!

6.) 10 Jan 2019 13:29:54
Nice one mk lol.

7.) 10 Jan 2019 14:43:26
I have never commented on a transfer rumour on this site before but if you give any credence to the nonsensical link to Tarkowski, totally fabricated by the worthless rag of a tabloid which we all despise and picked up by other lazy media outlets, then I suggest you seek urgent medical attention.

8.) 10 Jan 2019 23:38:19
Personally don't think he's good enough and I would worry if we spent that amount on him.

9.) 12 Jan 2019 11:39:53
VVD type money for Tarkowski, OP? You need to drop that WH poster as a decent source, mate cos clearly he is pulling your leg. I would not pay 6 pounds 5 pence for that poor, shambles of a footballer.

Lots of positives in this weekends performance. If we can keep that level of performance we should have a fun season.

Shame about the refs and var, I can understand mistakes happen but one has blatant as this is unbelievable.

It does question whether the game has improved, I watch a lot of championship football and though the level of football is not as good feels less controversy.

When a goal goes in you celebrate and you don't see many goals and think it shouldn't of been given.

I feel if we just stayed with on field decisions but had automated technology for offsides we would have a better game.

For example in the LFC vs Spurs game it would of been 10 vs 11 as Jones would of got a yellow as the ref first choose, but LFC would of got ahead with Diaz.

jordz

1.) 02 Oct 2023 12:37:19
VAR on paper should work perfectly fine. Other leagues don’t seem to have the issues we have. The common denominator being our dodgy Refs.

2.) 02 Oct 2023 16:42:15
That's it Mikey, on paper VAR should be a great tool, but somehow it is just being used to reinforce wrong decisions made?

Then we see the PGMOL praising the officials for 'correct' decisions made and explain why, according to the rules, this was the correct call.

The PGMOL seem to ignore the fact that in the previous week (s) an identical incident (s) occurred and the opposite decision was given yet the officials were still praised for making the 'correct' call according to the rules.

How the PGMOL does this is a mystery and it has led to many of us watching the game to have no clue anymore what is a penalty, a handball, a freekick or a red card as it just seems to be a coin toss as to the decision given each week.

3.) 02 Oct 2023 16:50:25
And a dodgy dictatorship known as the PGMOL.

4.) 02 Oct 2023 20:00:53
VAR is not the problem, it’s the idiots operating and interpreting it. People say scrap VAR but I don’t agree. If we’d had no VAR on Saturday, the linesman would have flagged, Liverpool would have been disallowed a legitimate goal, we would all be none the wiser, and the officials would have got away with their incompetence.

It is a must that the unedited audio is released post match for all controversial decisions. Only that will convince people it is incompetence and not corruption that is involved.

On referees in general, too many start refereeing when they are still kids. They never play football, even at school. So they know the laws but don’t know the game. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a footballer, not a bloody referee. So, although I never made it to professional level, I knew a good or bad tackle when I saw one.

Many years ago, I saw Mark Lawrenson make one of the best tackles ever made, on Eric Gates of Ipswich, who was clean through on goal. The tackle was from behind but took the ball cleanly. Today, some of these clowns would have awarded a penalty and given Lawrenson a red card.

29 Aug 2023 08:37:30
Seems the most likely we will try to buy in Gravenberch. Only seen he play a few times along with some clips. Hard to say how good he could be.

More interested in where he gets in our current 11? Or someone that plays in that similar position. Does Endo drop to the bench?

Meaning mac allister is the deep playing midfield with Trent when we are in possession?

jordz

1.) 29 Aug 2023 09:00:48
Jordz, I don’t no wheee he fits mate he is versatile and can play anywhere across the midfield but he isn’t a specialist DM.

2.) 29 Aug 2023 09:19:42
No one else coming through That door our business is done.

3.) 29 Aug 2023 09:29:55
Surely ( with certain exceptions) everyone is a squad player these days?
We can't expect the players to play every game! He would come in and take his place alongside our midfield so that we don't flog every player and they are knackered by the end of the season.

4.) 29 Aug 2023 09:35:56
Gravenberch seems like a ridiculous signing. He can’t play DM, he’s solely an ‘8’ Obviously doesn’t get a game over Szobo or Mac, he’s nowhere near as good as Thiago or Bajetic, similar profile to Curtis Jones but not as good as him either and Harvey Elliott is a better midfielder than him despite not really being a midfielder.

So a 7th choice 8 while we’re crying out for another DM and/ or CB. I’d rather just not sign anyone at all.

5.) 29 Aug 2023 09:44:02
It'd depend on what our current eleven is.

6.) 29 Aug 2023 09:46:36
Jay, want to bet your whole year's salary on it? ? A CM is coming in for sure. Even Klopp can see he can't depend on just Elliott (since Thiago and Jones aren't always fit or available) . And I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't Gravenberch or one of the often cited targets.

7.) 29 Aug 2023 09:52:38
Have to agree with Thomas.

I don’t think we need any more players in his position.

We need more defensive players, that should be clear to everyone I think.

I’m worried they won’t sign one until one leaves though. And we don’t seem capable of selling our defenders (Phillips, Matip, tsimikas) .

8.) 29 Aug 2023 10:03:32
The idea that we won't sign a CB in this window is self-defeating.

9.) 29 Aug 2023 10:09:09
Seventh choice 8!?
We can't moan about squad depth when we've got a seventh choice 8 ?.
Let's see if we sign him first and then see what Klopp's plans for him are.

10.) 29 Aug 2023 14:16:43
@Fandamonium - honestly a genuine question. What do you mean? How can an idea that we won’t do something be self defeating?

11.) 29 Aug 2023 15:29:26
Faith apparently per Ed02 for a CB to come in, a CB has to go according to and we know that ain't happening.

12.) 29 Aug 2023 23:40:44
As it stands we have VVD, Konate, Matip, Gomez, Quansah and Phillips on the books, why would we sign another one until we get rid of at least two (Phillips and Matip would be my choice) .

I think midfield should still be our priority.

21 Aug 2022 15:41:36
Feels like there's a good chance Keita will move.

Reports out of Germany saying that tomorrow is a big moment if he is not picked as he's not happy with his game time.

Not ideal before a big game seems that agency that he shares with Mane like to leak stories days before big games.

Personally don't like that he expects to be picked when he's yet to prove himself and doing that number 8 shirt no justice.

jordz

1.) 21 Aug 2022 15:49:56
If Keita is unhappy with his game time he could try playing better when he is picked.

But it's all media buzz atm, isn't it?

2.) 21 Aug 2022 16:19:00
You’re asking a bit much there Something, come on.

I understand that the story has been pushed by his agents to a journalist they know in Germany, so I’m minded to think there’s a grain of truth in it.

3.) 21 Aug 2022 18:15:24
I don't see why his being unhappy with game time is a big enough issue to leave. He's being rewarded financially far beyond his dreams. Game time didn't bother him the 3 previous years. He knows what he has to do to start every game; he's been a professional footballer long enough. And on any given game day, there are 14 players in every single one of the 20 EPL teams that are just as unhappy, as him, for not starting. Where is the unique defining issue that makes his case different?

I think Keita leaves only if Klopp wants him to. And I don't believe one word of what Klopp says to the media. He'd be a fool to tell anyone, outside of club management, what his real thoughts were. Why should he? Guardiola, has said, that he doesn't know if Bernardo Silva will be there after 1st September or not. To me, that's the open door " go with my blessing, son" announcement. Klopp can't afford to talk the same way for fear of not getting maximum value for his player.

4.) 21 Aug 2022 18:39:37
I’m unhappy with his game time as well, he’s played far too much for my liking.

5.) 21 Aug 2022 20:45:38
He can't play anymore minutes. he's always frigging injured. . and rubbish.

22 Apr 2022 09:45:27
I love Salah but another interview about his contract breaking. This time he says it's not just about money.

Critical time of the season yet these interviews keep coming up most months. Hope it doesn't distract rest of the team.

jordz

1.) 22 Apr 2022 10:39:54
Jordz he did one before the city he was in the midst of one of his worse goal runs at the club and it goes quiet now he scores 2 goals and it’s starts again right before the derby and the champions league semi.
I think if he wants to sign sign the deal or with everything that is going on he should just say we are at the wrong time to talk about these things with all the important games coming up so I will not talk about contract negotiations until the end of the season.
Then if he does not want to sign thank you Mo for the memories and he can move on and so can we he has not been great since the AFCON but we have still won most games without Salah’s goals so am sure Klopp will still have us up there because this is Klopp’s team not Salah’s.

2.) 22 Apr 2022 10:52:07
Are these old quotes being dug up?

3.) 22 Apr 2022 11:00:38
I think it’s important to know when these interviews were done. Because it is the press that then chooses when to release them to fit their agenda.

A few weeks ago a press snippet of a Salah interview was broadcasted in the main media that was from something like Oct/ Nov last year.

4.) 22 Apr 2022 12:02:28
It’s been reported in the athletic and four four two today. Fair enough there is no dates on the interview but seems recent.

Either way Bobby and Mane in there final years too aren’t they yet you don’t here the quotes from them.

Like I said I would Salah to sign just not keen on the statements and I’m not sure the club will either. It’s always been about the full team with Klopp not one person.

5.) 22 Apr 2022 12:10:35
Grino we may win games without salahs goals but don't under estimate his contribution to the team dragging defenders creating space etc he's an integral part of the team.

6.) 22 Apr 2022 13:11:49
It's all about posturing and being in a better position at the negotiating table. There was a standstill, then his agent posted some sarcastic cryptic things online, then Klopp talked about the "Salah situation" (which he admits he should have never done), then Diaz got signed, and then now there's news that Mane's contract is being worked on. And when you factor in that Salah absolutely wants to be the club's "main man" (that's my opinion), then there are bound to be some sparks from time to time. It's like a chess game.

Ideally, everything should have, and still be, done in a more quiet manner. We never heard a sound about VVD's renewal until it was done, and all this while he was injured for the year. Same with TAA, Robertson, Alisson and Fabinho. It's not like these guys don't have ambitions too, but neither they nor the club went about it the way this "Salah situation" is unfolding. And to me it's not just the Afcon that had caused Salah's slight drop off in form, I'm sure the contract situation has unsettled him a bit. I blame the agent and the club for all this. Both should have told Salah "listen, focus on the football, stay quiet, and let us handle it". And Salah should stop answering contract questions. He may not be happy about the progress (or lack of), but he should just set questions aside. Because journalists will always add the spin that suits their agenda, to it. And that's 100% guaranteed.

7.) 22 Apr 2022 14:05:19
Just a general question to see everyone’s thoughts?

Out of the 3 (Mane, Salah and Bobby) what’s everyone’s order on retaining them? Personally for me I’d be over the moon if we resigned all 3 in the summer but if we were to lose 1 who would it be and what if we were to lose 2.

My view (1 being most important and 3 least)

1. Salah - I think the guy is currently irreplaceable due to his numbers. And that’s number of appearances, goals, assists and the fact he draws at least 2 players to him at a time which allows Trent huge smoothed of space.

2. Mane - despite being written off numerous times he seems to have a new lease of life down the middle with 5 goals and 1 assist in his last 6 games. The fact he is our 12th best paid player tells me money is not a big issue for him so he would likely sign a new contract that falls in line with players who contribute far less but currently get paid a lot more.

3. Bobby - I think Bobby is enjoying far more rest this season and his numbers are at some of the best he’s had for us with the exception of appearances. He’s currently the 3rd or 4th highest paid player in the squad so for him to resign I’d imagine would need to be on reduced terms as I think he’s currently Klopps 5th choice forward (just going off the 2 selections v City) . He’s currently recovering from his 4th separate muscle injury of the season as well so with all 3 forwards not getting any younger he’s currently the one this season showing that age might be catching up with him or maybe he’s just been unlucky with injuries.

For me though if we announced in the Summer that all 3 had signed new contracts along with Klopp it would probably be the biggest and best transfer window in the clubs history.

8.) 22 Apr 2022 14:30:21
Redjoe I love Salah and hope he signs but since the AFCON he has been way off the pace and we have been fine and as much as I want him to sign it does not worry me if he doesn’t as am sure we will find a replacement and Klopp will turn him world class because that’s what he does.
But I do think that Salah and his agent need to stop and keep things to themselves at least till the end off the season rather than trying to score points with the fans like he wants to sign but it’s the club holding everything up it’s not like you keep seeing Runiger doing this and there seems to be more interested clubs in him.

9.) 22 Apr 2022 14:42:30
JK23 I’d just be happy with Klopp signing another extension. What he and his team have done I don’t think we will ever truly realise until he’s gone.

10.) 22 Apr 2022 14:49:27
JK23, id lose Salah before Mane and Bobby.
Would get more money for him and it seems like he's happy to do his contract negotiations in the public domain via interviews. Despite what everyone is saying, i think Salah is replaceable. There are strikers and wingers out there scoring 12-15 goals a season that would find their opportunities multiply in this team. The way Klopp has them playing and the space that is created means a natural finisher should score more with Liverpool than in less mobile teams. Jota wasnt a 20 goal a season player before he joined. Nor was Salah.

11.) 22 Apr 2022 16:41:30
Totally agree Gin. Goals are coming from all over and although I'd love Salah to sign no way do we pay him 400k a week. That's more than Mane Jota Diaz combined and I'm just not ok w that. 300 max and Mane needs a big raise imo. Unfortunately I don't pay the wages lol but playing for this club is a privilege.

12.) 22 Apr 2022 18:11:41
Salah's the best player out of the three. He has 30 goals this season despite just finishing a barren run, with 9 or 10 games left to score more. Could break 40 goals again. Players like that don't come around very often. The only reason to not want to retain him is this whole convoluted and increasingly public contract saga.

Mane's not far behind. He's playing as well as he ever has, has definitely shown that reports of his demise were premature and can play in any position in the front line. If Salah leaves, he could well end up playing RW for us again. And he'll do just fine there because he is a good player. We should keep him.

It's hard to judge Bobby cos he's been injured this season. I think he's played well whenever we've picked him and that shows in his 'per minute' stats. Personally I'd still put him ahead of Jota for the harder games where we need to graft more for control of the ball. I think the biggest problem for him now is that Mane has shown he can do the central role, including the link up play and graft, as well as he can. And carry a bit more of a goal threat in the process.

Being honest, as a fan, I will be upset to see any of them go. I think a bit a bad form here or there, coupled with being accustomed to the very high levels that these guys have played at consistently for 4 years, occasionally makes it easy to forget just how good these guys are. They're 3 of the 5 best forwards we've had in the PL era. But if we keep them all, we will be in a situation up the line where we need to replace three top quality players who themselves have little value due to their age. So unfortunately we can't keep them forever.

I think if it's up the club and Klopp, Firmino will be the one to go first. Unless the Salah situation ends up not being resolved.

I have a gut feeling that Bobby will leave when his contract expires in 2023, and that would be THE most emotional final home game since Gerrard's last game.
Mane will renew and probably stay till he's 34-35, and Salah is anybody's guess.

I can’t see Klopp wanting any of them to leave. Origi and Taki leaving frees up some space and we have 5 top players to rotate the front 3 positions. All have preferences but they can all play in multiple positions so I think any mix of them would work. Just hope Salah signs on.

People keep saying we have been fine since Salah’s drop in form, implying if he goes he won’t be missed. I think you’ll also see that when he doesn’t score, he creates. Losing Salah would create a huge dent in Liverpool’s attacking prowess.

16.) 23 Apr 2022 08:05:48
Salah's presence also affects the opposition. They often have to double up on him as they're worried that he'll run them ragged on that side.
There isn't a team on the planet that wouldn't miss a player of Salah's elite calibre. He'd make even Everton and Manchester United better which is a colossal task on its own.

17.) 23 Apr 2022 18:23:58
Salah is an elite player and immensely talented. But more than that, he’s consistent and keeps himself in top condition. Anyone who even remotely thinks he wouldn’t be missed or is easy to replace is deluding themselves. I can’t think of many capable of replicating what he brings. To replace a talent like him costs a lot of money and certainly a lot more than the transfer fee we’d get for selling him.

Spot on, Redjoe21 and Flash. We may win things with Salah but anybody who thinks we will win things this season without Salah’s goals or his aura and presence on the pitch esp in the run-in is fooling himself, IMO.

Well that's a wrap for this summer. got to say I feel the club needs to have a better strategy for outgoing players but it is what it is. Hopefully the squad stays fit and if they do should be an interesting season.

Thanks a lot Ed's for all your hard work can't be easy seeing some of our messages 😂!

Either Lavia or Andre I think are good options for the DM position.

Perhaps the club are looking to bring in another player and budgets look better with Andre deal.

We've know the terms around Lavia for a while now. They just need to make the choice now and get the player in for as much pre-season training as possible.

I don't think the move would be right for Gravenberch. Not sure he wants to be fighting for first team football. Competition could be tough with Szobo and macalister.

Agree with FlyPelicanFly. I see starters in Mcallister and Szobo. So that leaves one other midfield space to be thought between Elliot, Jones, Bajectic, Thiago and say one more midfielder whether that be Lavia or Thuram. This is also presuming Trent won't start any games in midfield.

I think Lavia and Llorente makes sense. As Lavia seems to have plenty of potential. He will push Bajectic, Llorente can cover multiple positions well.

Marcus Llorente that ed002 told us about doesn't sound as a bad of an option now ?.

If reports are correct Caicedo wants to move to london. Best to look else where if that is the case.

Very odd.

I've not watch him play but hardly feels like a first team player certainly not one for the future.

Maybe the club are looking to make do with Thiago and Endo and hope Bajetic has a break out season.

Agree it just shows the mistakes that Klopp and his team made deciding not to invest in previous years.

I am sure it isn't the simple case but it does feel like Jorg may of come in and been pretty honest with it all.

Maybe I am old fashioned but I have always thought of a club captain being a starter every game when fit.

Hendo isn't that anymore. He has been one of the most successful captains in years. If he wants a move a last pay day I think he deserves it.

In terms of losing his leadership skills, sometimes others step up when given the chance. We have players that are used to being captains for former clubs and countries.

It really depends I guess on if the club is going to start selling players when they have any value. Not saying now is the right time for Robbo but for example we have four players leaving on a free this season. Would of been better selling for 5/ 10mill.

I saw it the other way. Trent wouldn't be able to play that role if it wasn't for someone like Konate being so capable of covering like he did.
