Arsenal back in for Lemar?

Ed001 any idea whether that is true?

jordz

{Ed001's Note - not a clue sorry.}

1.) 31 Aug 2017 13:38:24
Thanks for quick reply.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 13:38:55
Apparently they believe they can get him for Β£70 million

Why would they accept a lot less then they told Liverpool they must be dumb over in London.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 14:04:12
90m is the rumoured arsenal bid.

4.) 31 Aug 2017 14:12:29
" they must be dumb over in London. "

What are they smoking?
:-)

20 Jul 2017 22:33:44
Fresh reports from the newspapers that there is a 72mill bid for Cout from Barca.

Any eds know if there is any truth to this?

jordz

1.) 20 Jul 2017 22:57:13
If Keita is valued by us at 66/ 70. we shouldn't be entertaining nothing under 100 million, even then I wouldn't want to sell, Coutinho at this current time is irreplaceable and we'd look like fools yet again to be selling our most influential player.

{Ed002's Note - The prices of players are unrelated - but yes there is an offer and yes it is less than Liverpool would want.}

2.) 20 Jul 2017 22:58:54
We should launch a Bid for Neymar as a counter and hand em a sticky note that says get lost.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot afford Neymar - they would be making themselves even more of a laughing stock.}

3.) 20 Jul 2017 23:07:57
Couts plus Sakho for Neymar.

Fair deal.

(Joke)

4.) 20 Jul 2017 23:12:28
You obviously have a serious problem with Liverpool as a Football club.

{Ed002's Note - I don't have any problem with them at all. Everything I have said is true. Liverpool cannot afford Neymar - it is very simple.}

5.) 20 Jul 2017 23:13:52
Straight swap for neymar so Eds πŸ˜‚.

6.) 20 Jul 2017 23:14:50
Β£110m. That's what I'd be happy to take and let him go. Would prefer he stayed though.

7.) 20 Jul 2017 23:23:21
Get Keita and Van Dijk in and we'll be no laughing stock.

8.) 20 Jul 2017 23:30:02
Ed02 I thought Barcelona are looking at bidding for Kylian Mbappe? Have you heard anything like this?

{Ed002's Note - This is the Liverpool page. Try the European pages or the Barcelona page.}

9.) 20 Jul 2017 23:50:36
No chance of coutinho leaving :) can't wait to see him smash a couple past Barcelona in the champs league semis.

10.) 20 Jul 2017 23:50:56
I think that was a joke ed002! Relax! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

11.) 20 Jul 2017 23:55:20
I thought from using this site that Lfc were the only team in the world who attempted to low-ball when trying to land players.

12.) 20 Jul 2017 23:51:04
What is the local time over there mate lol! It's night here. How could you have fresh reports at nights!

13.) 21 Jul 2017 00:01:33
It's already done.

As is keita and vvd.

It's exactly the same as Everton buying all there players for 90 mil and all of a sudden getting exactly that back for lukaku.

Spurs buying all there players for 106 mil and just happening to get 96 mil back.

There is no way on this planet we go from 60 mil last year with ed002 whose always spot on saying we were over spending and couldn't compete with the likes of United and city. To over spending them near 150 mil without actually being in the champions league yet, counting on sakho, Lucas, Stewart and Moreno sales.

All that's holding it up I think is the unexpected stubbornness of rb.

Mark my words as soon as keita is announced, cou will and then vvd will.

I'm sad because if we were in United's position and didn't have to sell we would be winning the league with Keita and vvd added and no-one leaving.

14.) 21 Jul 2017 00:12:24
coutinho is better than neymar. what's more he would be the worst fit for our team. don't think I have ever seen him make a tackle.

15.) 21 Jul 2017 01:20:11
I would be extremely disappointed if cout leaves Even For 200m. I Just want to see cout play For us week In week out.

16.) 21 Jul 2017 01:27:59
Spidermane, you're not taking into consideration any of the money we got for TV rights and finishing 4th in the league. Go and do some research on the amount we got this year conpared to last and you'll realise why we can spend more.

17.) 21 Jul 2017 01:35:13
Was just being facetious. cheeky way of saying not for sale, I know it wouldn't work and if actually done would raise some unwanted eyebrows. Barca always get their man in the end though :/.

18.) 21 Jul 2017 02:19:06
From all accounts Coutinho is way more professional than Neymar who looks in danger of following Ronaldinho's path. If true, then a straight swap would be our loss.

19.) 21 Jul 2017 03:44:17
Coutinho is not for sale.

20.) 21 Jul 2017 05:52:40
Suarez, straight swap?

21.) 21 Jul 2017 08:21:36
Nor is Keita PowerLFC.!

22.) 21 Jul 2017 08:41:48
We are not selling our best player at any price. That should be the mantra.

23.) 21 Jul 2017 09:23:47
Please end the transfer window now! I don't want another 6 week's of worrying if Couts might go!

24.) 21 Jul 2017 11:16:15
Ed002.

You mention Liverpool cannot afford Barcelona, .

Now deep down, I know you have a soft spot for the mighty reds.

I'm sure I read somewhere that you lived in Monaco, so must have a few bob Ed002! So why not share some of that wealth with the club, enhancing our chances of signing Neymar, and helping LFC not to look a laughing stock

😜😜😜.

{Ed002's Note - What I said was that Liverpool cannot affort Neymar.}

25.) 21 Jul 2017 10:50:26
72mil + Suarez will be tempting.

26.) 21 Jul 2017 12:15:57
72 plus suarez would be impossible to turn down and we would be mad to.

27.) 21 Jul 2017 12:05:05
True enough Ed002, but with your money we could buy Barcelona too ;-)

28.) 21 Jul 2017 13:38:40
Greg 150. I can't honestly see that. is it likely we can afford to spend that without at least recoupingn half back?

13 Jun 2017 13:05:05
Sky reporting that Hull have received bids for Maguire and Robertson. And both will be close to leaving the club.

Are we about to lose out on our third choice left back?

jordz

1.) 13 Jun 2017 13:18:14
Maybe LFC are the bidder?

2.) 13 Jun 2017 13:21:05
Would make a welcome change to actually make an offer for a player before giving him a parking space.

3.) 13 Jun 2017 13:24:14
Id take Robertson as a back up left back but not so sure on Harry.

4.) 13 Jun 2017 13:29:41
Why would we inform Hull that we wanted to buy their player? Surely sending an aeroplane with a wage offer on a trailing banner over robertsons house would be a more appropriate action?

5.) 13 Jun 2017 13:49:05
I hope it's not us.

6.) 13 Jun 2017 13:51:48
Bloody hope so.

7.) 13 Jun 2017 13:54:38
None of those players are good enough. Better they stay away from LFC as far as possible.

8.) 13 Jun 2017 14:14:19
I would be pleased to have Robertson at Liverpool. Maguire I'm not sure of. Martin keown is a big fan of harrys so he must have something. Eds, any info on these two? Do you see maguire as the answer to our CB problem? Or do you still feel vvd is out man?

{Ed001's Note - I don't rate any of the 3.}

9.) 13 Jun 2017 14:17:22
Liverpool made a bid of 12 mil for torres! Do you think we will get him? I heard he is wanted as a squad player and an extra option in ucl. Don't know whether to be pleased or not.

10.) 13 Jun 2017 14:20:53
No chance it is LFC speaking to Hull. We haven't agreed a contract with the player yet!

11.) 13 Jun 2017 14:49:09
Is Maguire not going Leicester?

12.) 13 Jun 2017 15:57:23
really? I mean really? Not giving Mendy proper wage but bidding 35m for Carrol. hurts.

13.) 13 Jun 2017 17:32:10
Thought it was Burnley that's bid fir Robertson?

14.) 13 Jun 2017 18:42:34
Jonny Torres is out of contract why would we bid 12m for an out of contract player. or have I missed something.

07 Jun 2017 10:52:35
SSN reporting we are talking to sporting lisbon about Gelson Martins.

Any of the Eds no anything?

jordz

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

1.) 07 Jun 2017 11:20:13
Maybe trying to force Romas hand?

2.) 07 Jun 2017 11:27:11
Seems very odd been as ssn are reporting that we're not willing to go to Β£35m for Salah so have changed to what would presumably Ben our 3rd choice that would look to cost around Β£40m. Why would we choose a more expensive option for 3rd choice. It's not like salah is at the end of his career and therefore doesn't represent a good investment.

3.) 07 Jun 2017 11:30:10
Looks like a talented chap, but isn't he another right winger?

4.) 07 Jun 2017 11:34:33
Hardly tearing things up the Portuguese league though is he? 11 goals in 60 odd games in a fairly weak league? I'd rather we focused our efforts on getting Salah.

5.) 07 Jun 2017 11:37:18
Maybe Klopp moving mane to the left.

6.) 07 Jun 2017 11:37:58
He looks like he would be a step down from Salah, looks like a tactic to get Roma negotiate on the price a little. Also it looks like the Wingers we are looking at now mainly play on the right. Does anyone else think we will be moving Mane over the the left and then sign a RW as there aren't many decent LW about, plus Mane has played on the Left in his career a lot i believe?

7.) 07 Jun 2017 11:43:01
Mane has played on the left more than he has on the right. He's only really been consistently played on the right since joining us.

8.) 07 Jun 2017 11:46:34
We won't Spend 35 Million on our first target who is by far a better player who has proven it in a better league (Serie A) with more goals and assists but we will try buy an alternative for 40 Million which Sporting Lisbon are looking for, who has scored just 6 Goals. Anyone else confused? If we can't get Salah just give Ojo or Wilson.

9.) 07 Jun 2017 11:49:33
Gelson Martins would be great. ynwa.

10.) 07 Jun 2017 11:52:44
We could do with this link falling flat on its arse and moving onto Douglas Costa a proven Lw who along with VVD and a LB would push Liverpool to the next level.

11.) 07 Jun 2017 12:00:49
Average at best and someone has to tell the lad you cannot dribble past all 11 players. He has pace but hardly any end product and has no vision to pick players or their movements. He is exactly what Markovic was 3 years ago.
We should go back to Julian Brandt and mind you Martins should be the Plan C.

12.) 07 Jun 2017 12:27:12
Southampton are interested in him right? maybe we want to save our moneyπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

13.) 07 Jun 2017 12:35:15
I hope it is just a tactic to speed up negotiations with Roma for Salah. Gelson Martins may well have potential but he's nowhere near the level of Salah in my opinion. Martins is definitely not worth more than 15million.

I'd be very happy if we can get VVD, Salah, a quality lb and Rb, then depending on outgoings maybe add Keita and a striker like Werner or Lacazette. That would be an excellent summer for us.

14.) 07 Jun 2017 12:44:00
Ed, is FSG up to their usual money antics again or is Ian Ayre back on the scene?

15.) 07 Jun 2017 12:55:41
Wouldn't it be better to give the nod to Brandt?

16.) 07 Jun 2017 13:06:43
Ed001, Echo reporting that we are monitoring Keita Baide, Martins and Douglas Costa as alternative to Salah. I was just wonderig what is you opinion on them, who would be your choice?

{Ed001's Note - I have never seen Martins play, seen very little of Keita and so it would have to be Costa due to him being the only one I have seen. Though he is supposed to be a bit of an arse, he has shown he can be top class on his day.}

17.) 07 Jun 2017 13:34:19
Keita Balde is supposed to have agreed a move to Juventus? Martins doesn't look a top class player at all from what I have seen of him, like a substandard Nani and that is not saying a lot.

18.) 07 Jun 2017 13:35:39
Apparently rick parry is consulting on transfers. were doomed.

19.) 07 Jun 2017 13:53:22
Make no mistake, Douglas Costa is a great player with magic in his left foot and can strike a ball with deadly precision. However as Ed said, he is a piece of work which is part of the reason BM may want rid as his attitude stinks.

As for Salah and Martins, it's just a ploy to let Roma know that we won't be messed about cos they need the money so this is just another negotiating tactic. I think the deal will still be done.

20.) 07 Jun 2017 14:03:59
Douglas costa i think would always of been the top choice for a nrw winger.

Everyone else is below his level.

Not thay there bad players or won't improve us but costa on the left and mane on the rivht would be ruthless.

21.) 07 Jun 2017 15:00:42
I hope we get Salah, if not I would like Keita Balde, always wanted him as a liverpool player.

22.) 07 Jun 2017 15:09:38
Gelson is 14 assists and 6 goals in 32 league games. Not bad stats is it?

23.) 07 Jun 2017 15:33:03
You have to remember he got them stats in the Portuguese league, which is like the championship minus a couple of teams, so Jordan Rhodes is a must buy if we keep looking at stats.

24.) 07 Jun 2017 16:01:00
We simply don't need a RB. End of. If someone amazing becomes available for a decent price then fair enough. We should focus on LB and securing our new CB (who I believe is undoubtedly on his way to melwood) We were amazing this season against teams who wanted to play football. We don't want to change the balance of the team too much by replacing half the personnel. LB is now priority and then a proven striker and then CM. Although I won't be worried if we don't buy a CM. If lucus leaves (legend) then perhaps we need a scrappy midfielder but really don't think we need to spend 50 mil. I'm very pleased to see salah in a liverpool shirt. Anyone creative and quick I'm pleased with. I understand he is a hard working footballer and that makes me smile. Better think of a song boys.

25.) 07 Jun 2017 16:14:51
I'm not sure how spending more money on a secondary or in this case a 3rd choice can be a ploy to get Roma to play ball. Surely Roma will just turn around and say 'you value your 3rd choice at Β£40m so surely your 2nd choice is worth more'

26.) 07 Jun 2017 14:08:06
Ed's People saying Roma need the money, haven't they agreed a Β£40mil deal with Inter for Nainggolan? meaning technically they don't need the money?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Roma are putting pressure on his agent at present to find out if Liverpool has made an illegal approach to Salah. They have set a price for the player but Liverpool has not made an acceptable offer.}

27.) 08 Jun 2017 01:19:17
Didnt ronny come from sporting. Wasnt a decision also made to not throw money down the drain on such a young player, didn't we also get cisse instead.

Im feeling abit of deja vu here.

Listen im not saying he's a ronny. But just because he comes from a weak league doesn't make him a bad player.

Coutinho came from there afterall. Along with other players from weaker leagues. Lallana was in league 1 a few years ago. Firmino was in the dudgeons in brazil. Mane was in switzerland i think, maybe lower end french league. Hendo at sunderland.

01 Jun 2017 18:06:08
Hi Eds,

With all these players being linked with specially like midfield do you think we could see one of our big players move out? Perphaps Coutinho?

Chasing both Brandt and Salah would make more sense if the club knew he was perhaps going to leave.

jordz

{Ed025's Note - i cant see couts moving in this window jordz, liverpool are looking to strengthen not weaken the side mate..

1.) 01 Jun 2017 19:17:32
Thanks for the reply. Fingers crossed!

{Ed025's Note - no probs mate..

Breaking that Ancelloti has been sacked. Is it too early for them to make a move for klopp eds?

jordz

{Ed002's Note - I have answered this already on the European pages.}

1.) 28 Sep 2017 18:39:57
It was only a matter of time as he has been dreadful for them.

{Ed002's Note - They are the current German league and cup champions - try not to share your ignorance of this as well. It is simply embarrassing.}

31 Aug 2017 18:40:15
Sakho to palace fee agreed. 26mill.

jordz

1.) 31 Aug 2017 18:49:34
Good news!

31 Aug 2017 16:01:27
What time does the domestic transfer window shut?

Heard it shuts at 1am? Does this mean we can buy anyone in the english leagues right up until 1am?

jordz

{Ed001's Note - 11pm BST.}

30 Aug 2017 17:41:29
Ox seems done his agent has tweeted it as has melissa reddy.

Macca said VVD, Robinson, Keita and maybe the Ox.

Three out for four so far. Hopefully the club can get a CB over the line, pref VVD.

Any updates Macca?

jordz

28 Aug 2017 14:40:54

I'd expect us to go for someone more like Meyer or Brandt now.

Lemar will be cup tied and 92mill for someone cup tied would seems steep for me. Just an opinion tho.

It isn't down to other clubs valuations. It is down to ourselves not picking targets that we as a club can achieve to sign.

LFC have been told for months now VVD is not for sale. Yet they seem to have all there eggs in one basket.

I know not every deal is possible but we need to improve in the right positions. The CB position is a huge flaw in our side. It is the difference between finishing in the top 4 and actually winning a competition.

Believable but I just hope we spend the money on trying to get some reinforcements. A CB and a cout replacement.

If not it won't matter how they tried to paint it to the fans that Coutinho forced the move, the majority of the fan base won't like it.

I would give him the chance once there is no one in the playing squad that he has played with.

Wish clubs would give managers time like Utd did with Fergie. I know the game has changed but constant sackings don't seem to offer years of success. Consistency is hard to achieve with new managers every 2/ 3 years.

You really think Ancelotti would want to come to us at the moment?

I don't see why any top 10-15 managers would want the LFC job at the moment. Premier league is ruthless and we can't compete on the transfer front like Utd, City and Chelsea can.

Think most top managers would rather be patient and wait for those jobs before LFC.

Whats the eds opinion? Given our current reputation in transfer dealings and failure to win anything in a while can you see us attracting 'top' managers still?

jordz

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware that Liverpool are in the market for "top" or any other managers at this time so the question is moot.}

I don't want Coutinho personally.

I will be disappointed if the club let's him go and doesn't replace him as its been going on for a while now.

But yeah don't have anytime left for Coutinho. He's shown he will be unprofessional don't need that in the dressing room.

I don't. Squad wise I think we are haven't improved. Yes we have a left back but we won't have anyone that can pull the strings or a CB that will be able to command the back line.

I still think we can push for top 4. But we won't win anything.

That's the difference between us and the likes of City and Utd.

They've bought in all the areas they need.
