Are we still interested in Inaki Williams? tormented Dejan and the defense last night.

{Ed001's Note - yes, but he is not moving.}

1.) 06 Aug 2017 06:23:39
That really ain't no good enough reason, for us not to chase him for the next couple of weeks. Seems we tend to target the unavailable players this time around.

2.) 06 Aug 2017 09:41:34
If you chased every forward who gave Lovren the run around the squad would have about 20'000 forwards.

3.) 06 Aug 2017 10:39:50
Good luck chasing him, he looks pretty swift to me.

09 Jul 2017 05:03:55
Hi Eds,

Have we shown any interest in Marvin Plattenhardt? LB from Hertha Berlin.

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

1.) 09 Jul 2017 07:18:15
I rate him, can take a mean free-kick, too!

2.) 09 Jul 2017 11:07:54
Spent most of the season injured didn't he?

{Ed002's Note - Therew has been absolutely no interest from Liverpool in the player.}

05 Jul 2017 14:16:20
Hi Eds,

Josh Tymon just turned down a new contract with Hull. Could we sign him?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 05 Jul 2017 15:02:01
He's going to Stoke.

04 Jul 2017 08:38:18
With Monaco signing Terence Kongolo, do you think that Mendy will now sign for Man City? Shame, probably the best young left back in Europe. I know this next question is repetitive, but what LB's are we considering other than Robertson. Surely we can do better than a relegated LB.

{Ed002's Note - Yes MC are pushing to complete the transfer. Liverpool are unable to sign their first choice left back and they have seemingly dropped interest in the others but remain keen on Robertson.}

1.) 04 Jul 2017 10:00:30
Thank you ed. So correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that we are paying absolutely zero attention to our defense, and will end up with an overflow of midfield players. Surely if we were to sign Ox and Keita, either Wijnaldum, Lallana or Henderson would have to consider their future at the club.

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool are keen on Robertson - I said that in my reply.

As I have said before, Liverpool cannot keep adding players without others leaving.}

2.) 04 Jul 2017 10:09:43
Ed, pardon me if this is naive, however, Is Robertson seemingly the LB choice due potential overspend in other positions being anticipated?

Thanks as always.

{Ed002's Note - No, he is a player Klopp likes. He can't get his first choice so right now he is the one the club wants. Personally I thought Joe Gomez should be given another chance.}

3.) 04 Jul 2017 10:20:51
I agree Ed02 with Gomez given a chance, but for me at Centre back, just hope he gets it!

4.) 04 Jul 2017 11:14:29
Gomez wants to play at centre half. He sees that as his best position. Likely to go on loan to a Premier League team for a season providing we buy a centre half.

{Ed002's Note - Gomez has never played centre half at this level, only at Charlton. If Gomez is not prepared to play left back then his Liverpool career will be over if Klopp adds another centre back. Being 5th choice will be no fun.}

5.) 04 Jul 2017 11:43:49
Playing Gomez at LB is just an awful idea. He played a handful of games at LB, and got roasted by pacy wingers. He is a CB and should play there. Klopp needs to be honest with the lad and let him know where he stands in the club's future. A loan to a club which will play him at CB seems the best move imo. Playing Gomez at Lb will create the same width issues that we faced when Milner played there.

6.) 04 Jul 2017 11:46:02

Can I please ask who is/ was the first choice target for left back please?

{Ed025's Note - mendy i think mate..

7.) 04 Jul 2017 15:34:44
Of all the high profile players were linked with it will be ox who signs. Vvd could be messed up already but I still think there is hope of signing him. Robertson will sign too imo.

8.) 04 Jul 2017 16:41:42
Last month an Ed said we could add 2 players before we have to sell. Can you please tell me where we stand in regards to squad size? Can't remember if they said this before or after salah and solanke. Have any fringe players gone out?

9.) 04 Jul 2017 19:40:24
Gomez is a CB and even tho he is untested at this level, he should play there cos he will be destroyed at LB cos he will be an easy target for the opposition.

05 Jun 2017 13:00:41
Lacazette rumors are false im guessing? But imagine the front line

with Phil feeding them balls.

1.) 05 Jun 2017 13:13:09
Going to need a seriously good DM if we're going to get those four and lalana in the starting 11!

2.) 05 Jun 2017 13:13:23
I think Phil's wife will have a problem with that.

3.) 05 Jun 2017 13:01:59
Chuck in Salah in there too, and I'm properly scared for the other teams!

4.) 05 Jun 2017 13:59:29

Hi Eds,

After Emre's beautiful performance last night, are the club attempting to re-start negotiations to extend his contract?

{Ed025's Note - beautiful performance?, i dont know what game you were watching benny but he did not do much for me mate, i think liverpool are resigned that he will be at juve next season..

1.) 15 Jan 2018 12:11:51
Ed025, as soon as Can was replaced by Milner our midfield fell to pieces, I’ve accused him of coasting this season but that was a top performance at the base of midfield.

{Ed025's Note - really?, they scored 2 goals after he appeared MrD which for someone playing at the base of midfield is hardly a testament to how well he played for me mate..

2.) 15 Jan 2018 12:25:07
Have you misunderstood the post Ed? Your comment seems to contradict what you said.

{Ed025's Note - yes i did mate..sorry..

3.) 15 Jan 2018 13:17:26
I thought Emre Can was everywhere yesterday particularly in the first half. Strong in the tackle and always breaking up the play which is exactly what you need from a CDM.

For my money he plays better in that position than Henderson from a defensive stand point and il be gutted when he leaves as he is a real warrior.

4.) 15 Jan 2018 13:35:19
Playing better than Milner in that position doesn’t make you world class though to be fair, Milner was god awful.

10 Jan 2018 06:43:40
Hi Fellow Reds,

I wouldn't be so worried about coutinho leaving, stats show we have a better winning record when he's not playing and bar the horrible man city display, we played ridiculously well with Firmino, Mane and most importantly Salah. Now that we have a defensive rock in VVD, we should be fine. Personally, I would love to see a midfield of Can, Gini/ Lallana and Ox, or if we sign lemar we can be a little bit more adventurous in the midfield. Fear not and trust in Klopp, I'm excited to see what the rest of the season brings.

1.) 10 Jan 2018 08:42:00
You need to look at the teams we payed in the matches we won without him before using stats like that to make yourself fell better about him leaving.

2.) 10 Jan 2018 08:43:30
Stats can be very misleading. Take Coutinho out of that midfield and look at the options we have. Lallana and Hendo injury prone, Gini is average and goes missing for large periods, OX still learning the midfield trade, Can's head is already elsewhere, Grujic can't get a game while Miner is a headless chicken. Chamberlain and Lallana are the only players worth keeping from there. The rest won't be missed one bit. We don't just need adventurous in midfield, we need real quality which separates the great teams from the decent ones.

3.) 10 Jan 2018 08:58:36
Klavy Bobby Mo - it's true that can happen with stats but this season he missed watford away, Arsenal at home, City away, huddersfield at home, west ham away and burnley away. Hardly sitting him for the easy wins!

01 Jan 2018 12:21:09
Hi Eds,

how likely is it that we will wish Coutinho farewell this month? Imo it wouldn't make sense to sell our best player mid-way through the season. If we could arrange a deal for the summer that would be better.

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

07 Dec 2017 21:31:45
Just wondering Eds why Klopp persists with Henderson in midfield and more importantly as captain. He's simply not up to scratch anymore, and is quite frankly at times a liability in the middle of the park with his continuos side passing. Is there a chance his days at the club are numbered and he'll be sold in the summer?

{Ed002's Note - He is the Liverpool captain and a commited player. Would you rather give the armband to one of those not comited who wants out?}

1.) 07 Dec 2017 22:37:58
Hear hear ed02. Rather have a team of Henderson’s than Coutinhos. Ok maybe that’s an exaggeration, Hendo hasn’t been as effective this year as he has been in previous years but he is playing much deeper with much less freedom currently than he has previously. He is a box to box midfielder being made to play the no. 6 role. He’s never going to be a Gerrard, Kante, Fabregas etc but he can be effective and cares about the shirt. Enough said in my book. When on top form he’s one of the first names on the team sheet and I’m confident he will get back to that level. If we buy a dedicated CDM that will free Hendo to play his natural position which is currently being filled by Wiji, who is nowhere near as effective as Hendo is at that role.

2.) 07 Dec 2017 23:21:05
Just wondering Ed's why certain posters persist with spouting the same sideways passing nonsense against a player who has proven more than good enough. Instead of supporting him whilst he regains his form after a horrible ongoing heel injury, you use the sideways passing speil as a stick to beat hendo with despite him being asked to perform the role Klopp has instructed him too.

3.) 08 Dec 2017 03:37:08
Emre Can should have been awarded the armband. I would have given him personal assurances and captaincy ( he is certain to be one for his national team )

4.) 07 Dec 2017 23:32:01
Here we go again. Henderson does not always pass sideways. He simply is in there to keep the ball ticking over which is what Klopp would instruct him to do and Henderson does very well. How on earth do you expect to break teams down by playing the ball forward each time. Just use your common sense and realise that to break these teams down you have to move the ball from one side of the pitch to the other, preferably with speed. Then opportunities arise to play the ball forward whether that is Henderson or the other 10 players we have. Hopefully this will now widen your knowledge of the game that Liverpool like to play. Thank you.

{Ed001's Note - it is pointless mate, if they still think that then they simply haven't a clue.}

5.) 08 Dec 2017 08:45:20
Farmer, "How on earth do you expect to break teams down by playing the ball forward each time. . "

We did just that without Henderson's side passing vs Spartak. What you talking about?

6.) 08 Dec 2017 10:21:51
Dilakh, then why continue to play him if he keeps on struggling with a heel injury? It makes no sense whatsoever to play a player who is not in good form, captain or not. Perhaps I was a bit harsh, but its frustrating to see attacks break down because henderson wants to play it safe.

7.) 08 Dec 2017 10:51:37
Some people are clueless! You can’t go forward all the time. I’ve seen Hendo play many killer balls so the rubbish about him always passing sideways is a myth and your justbusing it to try and give your argument some substance. You don’t rate him, that’s your opinion but Donte make up things to try and justify it. get behind our players, we’re in a good place and your still not happy!

{Ed001's Note - give up mate, it is a waste of time, some people just don't understand football and would have hated Liverpool of the 80s when almost every pass went sideways.}

8.) 08 Dec 2017 12:19:54
go and watch salahs goal against spurs. one of the passes of the season from hendserson. he has the ability. he is being instructed to play this way. if he loses possession the position he is currently playing it will leave us exposed.

9.) 08 Dec 2017 12:59:57
I like Henderson, and don't necessarily agree with criticism about passing sideways, but I've noticed an issue with him this season is that he tends to get dribbled past a lot, leaving opposition players running straight at our defence with no protection. It seems to me that he rushes in too quickly to close down which leaves a big gap in front of the defence when they get around him.

Has anyone else noticed this?

10.) 08 Dec 2017 14:02:17
To be honest Kyles the one time I saw him get dribbled by constantly was the Chelsea game and that was because Hazard was having a field day because Hendo was getting no help from his midfield partners.

11.) 08 Dec 2017 14:06:51
Just aswell your not manger then harry isn't it, klopp is not going to do things just to suit you! your over excitement would more than likely have us in the national league in 4 years time.
Harry you keep rambling on about this and that are you the new moyes (football genius)? .
Opinions are exactly that but I fear you really believe things should be done your way, we'll reality check for you it's not going to happening in klopp we trust in harry we doubt.

12.) 09 Dec 2017 00:06:14
Harry, good thing Klopp will never do what you want. How can you give the arm band to a player who will be off in the summer? Clueless drivel, really. Klopp will never play, sign players or employ the tactics you want and you need to get over yourself cos all you have is an opinion, which are not facts.

As for Hendo's detractors who moronically go on and on about passing sideways, they would have hated the Barcelona teams of Cruyff and Pep who passed sideways all the time BUT cos Hendo does it (which is his job to keep possession and not force a pass forward to prove a stupid point), they start moaning like triggered haters. Pep, Xavi, Alonso passed sideways a thousand times in their careers cos they played in teams that like to possess the ball a lot, you know, LIKE WE DO. Wiji plays more sideways passes than Hendo does BUT funny enuff, he gets no stick for it. The bias is deafening there.

But hey, let's beat up on the boy cos he is not flashy or does not play forward passes which is patently false cos he plays diagonals almost as good as SG did in his time. As Ed01 said, we should all give up on these haters cos this is a losing battle to talk sense to them.

31 Aug 2017 20:45:16
Hi Eds,

If Barcelona were to offer a player in return for pipco tomorrow, would we still be able to accept the offer with the player? or does it have to be straight cash.

{Ed002's Note - The window will be closed. I don't get how the Liverpool fans are struggling with this concept so much. The transfer window in England closes at 11 local time tonight. Liverpool cannot register players after this time and they cannot send back players who they purchased "subject to medical".}

1.) 31 Aug 2017 21:10:03
Ed002, i am not the brightest but are you suggesting we have agreed a deal 'subject to medical'? 😂.

Why wouldn't we be looking at him? Very similar players and Seri is better defensively.

Doesn't matter if De Vrij isn't as strong as Matip in the air, he's a ball playing centre back and is a great deal if we can get him for 25 mil euros.

You really think that Newcastle are favorite for the drop? See them finishing mid table personally.
