Hi eds

Is there any foundation in the rumour flying around that Benteke has agreed personal terms with Besiktas?

savvyxone

{Ed002's Note - Whilst Eris Kismet agreed a personal package with Besiktas after Crystal Palace stepped back and Juventus declared that they had no interest and asked him to stop bothering them about Benteke, Besiktas want a loan with an option of buying which might not suit Liverpool. Any agreement to buy him would need Liverpool to reduce the significant asking price considerably.}

Thanks Ed002.

Is it true is it true?

Balotelli's agent is in talks with Jiansu Suning in regards to a €15M per year move?

Or has there been any interest in him at all so far

Great news if it turned out to be true

Fingers and toes crossed.

Any news on this one Eds?

{Ed002's Note - His agent is not in China nor having any direct discussions with any interested clubs although there have been enquiries from Turkey and from China - but there is no firm offer. His agent has been in Naples and Turin dealing with matters surrounding three other players and is coming to England to see three clubs about potential transfers.}

4.) 31 Mar 2016 13:51:47
Would Liverpool be on that list of 3 clubs?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Hi Eds

Various reports in Italian media just appearing online of reported interest in Sturridge from Napoli for €25m.

Surely we are not going to sell now after all the drama of his injuries and recovery times?

would the club be open to offers or will Liverpool wrap him in a bubble for the summer
(hopefully he gets through the Euros)

Or is this complete tripe?

Personally really hope it's just made up nonsense.

savvyxone

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach by Napoli.}

1.) 15 Mar 2016 23:31:29
Has anyone shown interest in Sturridge ed?

{Ed002's Note - No Sturridge has been sidelined with a lengthy injury problem.}

2.) 16 Mar 2016 07:43:49
I think if the asking price was that low a couple of people would be interested if he stayed fit until the end of the season.

3.) 16 Mar 2016 10:59:19
Who said what the asking price was?

4.) 16 Mar 2016 12:49:29
Well EdFar seeing as you decided to be anal about it:

'They are interested in signing at x price' indicates that they believe they can sign at x price. It would therefore follow that they believe that x price is the asking price.

Should this not be the logical following then the core of the statement becomes absolutely meaningless - y team want to sign z player at x price is even more of a non-report than it already is for good players because of the ability to sub prices in and out at will e. g. Barnet FC are interested in signing Messi for £500 - maybe true, but it's also nonsense.

The exception to this is when the 'report' goes on to state that this is short of the valuation of the player by their current club (or states an alternative valuation)

We good here?

5.) 16 Mar 2016 14:32:30
hjikle

😂😂😂😂😂😂

That about sums it all up, well done mate on that ever extremely detailed answer. 👍🏻

Ed02

You may have an apprentice who may be of interest to you here.

Reply of the year contender in my opinion.

Don't forget to close that tiny box you just put him into.

😁.

6.) 17 Mar 2016 03:27:24
Hey hjikle for someone who obviously regards him, her or itself as something of a logician you might want to try the first sentence again .

" They are interested in signing at x price' indicates that they believe they can sign at x price. It would therefore follow that they believe that x price is the asking price. "

You are, of course, making an assumption that there actually is an asking price (and you were going so well until the last bit. Why because somebody may want to buy something do you automatically assume that the current owner wants to sell it? As you say, if you don't accept the assumption or the assumption is false then the rest is just meaningless word play.

Whilst it is very refreshing to find somebody who believes press reports I think I'd have to disagree with your evaluation of the current situation.

However, let's accept your assumption as being true . I'm going to make an assumption that you may never have been involved in [ I'll be kind and say 'complex '] financial negotiations - if the assumption is erroneous then do please accept my humble apologies - but to assume that an opening bid matches the seller's expectation is, to be kind, quite naive. Rather (if the selle is any good) it sets the field for the seller to announce their (much higher) price. I believe that this opens the door to what is called negotiation or 'bargaining'

Of course it is also quite possible that a mischievous little imp has let slip a figure to various members of the fourth estate to 'test the waters' so to speak, perhaps to draw Sturridge's agent out into the open. That again would suggest that the assertion that it would "therefore follow" that the figure mentioned was the "asking price" was slightly wide of the mark

So I'll ask you specifically - how do you know there is an asking price for Sturridge and, if there is, how do you know what it is?

{Ed001's Note - obviously, for all your attempt at being clever, this is going over your head. No one has said it was the asking price, what was said is that if it was that low there would be no shortage of offers. You are so busy trying to pretend to be clever you are making a fool of yourself.}

Hi eds

Quick question

It's being reported Xabi Alonso will be moving on this summer, would he be a potential option for Liverpool this summer for maybe one season I think Emre Can could do with a player of his stature and experience within the squad as he could learn so much from him, I know he is 34 now but the guy is still world class and a true hero here as well would be great to see him back even if it was coming on off the bench imagine himself hendo and Lucas in midfield while Emre could learn so much from him especially on his defensive area where he still seems poor in that area in the current position he is played in, don't get me wrong I personally am a fan of Emre but I do think someone like alonso in the squad competing for the same place could only help Emre as he is very young and has huge potential for the future

Would really appreciate your opinions.

savvyxone

{Ed002's Note - It makes zero sense at all - a backward step to presumably placate the large numbers of fans that live in the past. Disruptive to the team moving forward and any plans Klipperty Klopp has. Certainly adding him and his vast wages to the squad would displace the likes of Can rather than help him.

Makes zero sense.}

1.) 15 Nov 2015 16:35:07
Ok thanks

Was just thinking out loudly is all not living in the past I do hope can can work hard on his defensive work as I previously said he has really good potential but is young so presuming he is willing to learn from his mistakes take them on board and work hard, that goes for the rest of the squad as well bar a few

Mingolet
Skittles
Loren
Moreno and Clyne to an extent

Who just are stuck in their ways or just not good enough for where we need to be

Thanks again for your input.

2.) 16 Nov 2015 07:48:38
You know players have coaches to learn from right? And in terms of defensive work, Can has Lucas to learn from if he needed to be copying another player.

3.) 16 Nov 2015 11:13:11
We should have brought him in this or even last season (if that been feasible) .

Makes less sense now that Lucas playing well and Can, Rossiter, Chirivella will have had another year under their belts and can be considered credible backup.

4.) 16 Nov 2015 11:32:45
Hjikle I don't think there's any advantage from copying another player, when can is younger and can also be potentially in the long term a better player than lucas, Zimbo I totally agree with you it would have been great but like ED02 said it doesn't really make sense for a lot of reasons, let's just hope Klipperty and his coachin staff can work him hard on his defence as he has all the attributes of being a top class midfielder like rossiter, both ones to hold onto and ones to watch for the future

( I REALY HOPE WE CAN HOLD ONTO PLAYERS LIKE THESE AS WE NEED STABILITY IN MIDFIELD WHICH LOOKS LIKE ITS GETTING THERE NOW BUT WILL TAKE TIME ) HOPEFULLY DURING THE SUMMER WE CAN REARRANGE OUR DEFENCE AS IT SEEMS STILL OUR WEAKEST PART OF OUR GAMES EVEN THOUGH AND i HATE SAYING THIS BUT SKITTLES IS ACTUALLY PLAYING A LOT BETTER AS OF LATE.

5.) 16 Nov 2015 18:28:24
Alonso have not even legs for qatari league at this point.

14 May 2017 13:03:13
Here we go again 😂😂

The Moaners and whingers are back with a bang and still 2 games to go and a whole summer remains for transfers.

Last summer they were all giving it loads about many of the new signings and then after Xmas just passed they are if the opinion the same squad members they were berating are the best thing since sliced bread. Typical of Liverpool supporters (not all thankfully)

So here we go again since 3 names are thrown around this morning for instance and the same are yet again doing the same as always. Personally I hate that but others seem to get off on that kind of an attitude.

My personal opinion. If you consider yourself as a true and honest supporter of the club stop the nonsense and get behind the club now and if you don't like my opinion and many others who think the same as myself why not splash out on a brand new Utd jersey toddler over to old Trafford and indulge in some rather nasty Prawn cocktail sandwiches with the rest of the Moaners.

Anyway fingers crossed for 6 pts in the remaining games.

savvyxone

1.) 14 May 2017 13:48:45
Roberston od be happy with left back and hoepfully we can get the guy on loanat lille as options for right and left back and bring through TAA. Luan is an unknown really and preferably id like a european proven striker but will support him of he comes in. As for Kjaer the story is utter rubbish and am glad of that as we might as well bring Carra out of retirement than putchase this guy.

07 May 2017 13:29:08
Sadly the end of Sturridge is probably here now.

Why you may ask.

90mins. com have posted pics of Sturridge presumably they say in Birmingham on a night out and coincidence would have it also that this was also the night before our loss to palace at home.

If it's true or not it's not good for him and tarnished the image of this club once again by irresponsibility from yet another player.

😡😡.

savvyxone

1.) 07 May 2017 15:38:49
So just to be clear a player who wasn't in the match squad, is out injured and was not in contention to play went to his home town for a night out with some friends before his club played a match? Disgusting hang him now! (Yes I am being sarcastic in case anyone isn't sure)

One thing that caught my eye was the last bit from the Birmingham Mail.

"An onlooker said: “He was having a great time. He was in the VIP section where all the celebrities like boxer Floyd Mayweather visit when they head to Birmingham. "

All the celebrities?

2.) 07 May 2017 15:51:57
"tarnished the image of this club" . really?

What's more damaging is our fans buying into gossip culture published by substandard media outlets and then sanctimoniously spreading it online.

3.) 07 May 2017 18:30:55
I think one of the Eds replied before that Sturridge doesn't drink.

Hope he wasn't dancing with his thigh issues LOL.

02 May 2017 11:35:20
Somebody this morning mentioned that Firmino is only able to link up with Couthino.

This kind of rubbish really gets under my skin when I see comments like that, for the simple reason it's just a really silly thing to say if you know anything about the game and player positioning and movement and also spaceial awareness.

Watch what Firmino does when he realises Can is looking for the liberal behind Firmino and how Firmino takes 3 strides towards his midfield away from the box to. create enough space for Can to overlap and take that wonder goal last night. He has done this type of thing all over the field all season and is one of the best in the premier league at the moment with his movement.

savvyxone

1.) 02 May 2017 12:20:05
I see where both sides are coming from, but I watch Firmino a lot during matches and he gets more involved in games with Coutinho than when he is isolated up front. Yesterday, most of his play was with Milner or making runs to make space for others. Either way, he is a vital component that needs more help in these kind of matches so that we can play to his strengths.

2.) 02 May 2017 15:26:48
Spot on, Savvy. I saw that play as well. It is normal that Firmino will have a better affinity with Couts as they are not just good footballers BUT best mates off it. That is human. But to say he plays better when Couts is on the pitch is laughable. The guy is a genius REGARDLESS of who he plays with. Now can he feed off Couts when both are on the pitch? Absolutely BUT that is where it ends.

3.) 02 May 2017 19:49:54
Firmino plays better when Coutinho is on form. As does every other attacking player in Liverpool and Brazil. He's a phenomenal player, that's what phenomenal players do - release the talents of others even while making their own impact.

4.) 02 May 2017 23:35:29
FIrmino cannot play on the flanks and it doesn't change with the inclusion of Couts in the team.

There was an interesting article regarding why Rafa really left the club and how it came about, just wanted to ask any of the eds in the know.

Have any of you read this article and is there much truth to it?

Cheers.

savvyxone

{Ed001's Note - how would I know if I have read the article when you didn't even give us a clue as to where it is or who wrote it or what it contained?}

1.) 23 Apr 2017 07:44:41
It was about the outrageous 34% tax increase on sausage rolls that almost bankrupt him ed.

{Ed001's Note - ah that was nonsense, Rafa hated sausage rolls, it was gravy and chips that was his downfall.....}

2.) 23 Apr 2017 08:18:15
Could be the recent article from the Liverpool Echo where they interviewed Martin Broughton.

Apparently Broughton wanted Rafa to stay and after discussions Rafa's lawyer asked Broughton what Rafa's terms were for Rafa going.

There was also mention that Rafa kept on talking over and over again in all meetings about what was wrong with the club and eventually Broughton had to ask Rafa to put all his requirements on paper as he was hardly given a chance to move his lips as Rafa was repeating himself without coming up with solutions.

Broughton also said that the relationship between H and G, H and G and Rafa, Rafa and Purslow were all toxic.

So to end off, Broughton said that Rafa chose to leave.

At the end of the day, in order for the club to move on, H and G, Rafa and Purslow all had to go in order for the club to move on.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok, I stopped reading the Echo when Mirror group bought it, as it became utter turd after that.

Rafa wanted Purslow out (rightly in my opinion as he was a real anchor on the club), which was not going to happen. He also wanted more control, which could not be given with Purslow there. The pair were involved in a constant running battle. Rafa was also unhappy with H&G and they were unhappy with him airing their dirty linen in public.

You are right, they all needed to go, but it would have been better if it had happened more amicably, as Rafa deserved much better.}

3.) 23 Apr 2017 08:55:39
Yeah, the way it was all dealt with was like running a circus. The club at the time was in an awful state from top to bottom and all attention was put into the sale of the club. Anything else that still needed to be dealt like seeing Rafa leave was obviously not as important. It was handled like just another issue being scratched off the list.

4.) 23 Apr 2017 09:44:15
To be fair Purslow, Ayre and Broughton played vital roles in getting rid of Hicks and Gillett.

In most cases like that an Asprin may not even be needed just a slight change to diet and close monitoring is the norm for circulation issues like that.

Zero to worry about you can be sure the dietician has sorted this already.

Personally I would say Klopp was right in the way he went about things but it was the idiots that call themselves fans that pushed for Karious to be dropped and wrongfully so. Was Klopp right to drop him due to fans pressure? Absolutely not but that's the joys of Liverpool and the certain cretans that call themselves supporters.

It will be firmino in the centre instead of sturridge with mane on the right and what you mentioned abkut the formation has already been worked on why do people think we are after Brandt and similar players for that area. Its not directly as a replacement for Couts but allows him to drop deeper.
