Where's Harry when you need him?

Tip quality Red-top reporting LFC in talks with Real to sign.

Kovacavic!

1.) 21 Aug 2017 22:54:07
I believe he is currently going by "we can't defend".

Really surprised he isn't going by "why so Seri us" but you know, give him time.

2.) 21 Aug 2017 23:40:46
I suspect he's cleaning up his PC and desk right about now.

3.) 21 Aug 2017 23:45:38
Is he any good?

4.) 21 Aug 2017 23:46:54
And will we only sign him if coutinio goes? If that is true it doesn't say a great deal for our supposed no sale stance.

5.) 21 Aug 2017 23:58:55
he is one of my favourite players I hope we get him either way.

6.) 22 Aug 2017 00:24:49
Ed wat about ziyech of ajax we were linked wid him does he play central also personally we should go for mahrez box of tricks has vision also has played in this league knows the score, also is ben gibson not worth a punt.

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine.}

7.) 22 Aug 2017 05:43:33
Don't tease me boys 😎😎😎😎. If he comes then I ll have a separate page here 😌😌😌😌.

8.) 22 Aug 2017 06:13:36
If he comes then I bet you both will.

9.) 22 Aug 2017 08:10:10
Good suggestion MK, unfortunately it seems he supports the Reds, not Pink 😉.

10.) 22 Aug 2017 08:28:45
Yep, I knew Harry was We can't Defend. You seem to always know who harry is based on his posts and their tone regardless of him using his upteenth username.

11.) 22 Aug 2017 09:47:30
Why all the usernames harry just out of intrest.

12.) 22 Aug 2017 11:16:18
I quite enjoy the tease of Harry and the name changes never quite sure what's next but for me he makes this site a lot better.

13.) 22 Aug 2017 13:36:31
Am I the only one who doesn't know who Harry is?

14.) 22 Aug 2017 16:29:23
Belfast red Harry is a legend on this site right up there with edds and macca. Harry often changes his name to keep us all on our toes.
There are a few regular posters on here that tend to disagree with him but for me he is the best poster.

15.) 22 Aug 2017 17:35:24
Negative of my brother! Owe you my life! 😎. You are one of the standout poster on this site. With that username to survive on this site is something even I couldn't dare!

Apparently we are interested in Matt Hale.
Great signing and would save us significant sums of money in the long run
Await another official complaint.

1.) 27 Jun 2017 23:24:27
Who is Mattie Hale?

2.) 28 Jun 2017 06:09:38
He runs the Academy for Southampton.

3.) 28 Jun 2017 10:10:58
Must have been tapped up then.

Quick snippet for fellow Reds.

Heard from an HP that Clyne is being investigated by HMRC.

AggerDo

1.) 03 Apr 2017 22:14:15
He's wealthy = they'll let him off.

2.) 03 Apr 2017 22:52:42
He managed to pull the wool over the eyes of the entire English media, so the muppets at HMRC should be a piece of cake ;)

3.) 04 Apr 2017 22:00:41
On the ball MK

He is being investigated for fraudulently obtaining monies.

Am onto thinking about next league campaign already

Would just urge caution to those stating it will be another 2-horse race as Us and City were miles ahead of the competition

We are living proof that you can close a 25 point gap.

AggerDo

1.) 13 May 2019 08:12:32
I think the other teams are so far behind at this point that they're all going to have to spend vast amounts to catch up and I'm not sure Arsenal and Spurs have the appetite for that in one go and United simply need too many new players - they are currently were we where in 1991.
Maybe Chelsea are the ones who'll be prepared to splash the cash perhaps. We really need to take our chance to break this league title thing soon though because they will catch up eventually. I reckon we've got a couple of seasons.

2.) 13 May 2019 08:16:46
We had a core group of players, used to the managers style and philosophy, and brought in a few quality additions. Other than Spurs, i don't think there's another team in the top 6 who are in the position. Chelsea can't sign anyone and will possibly life their best attacking player. Man Utd are not looking good and need rebuilding, and arsenal will need a whole new defence to challenge. I expect a top 3 of Liverpool, man city and spurs next season, in that order.

3.) 13 May 2019 08:44:24
Chelsea won't be spending anything.

4.) 13 May 2019 08:54:43
I forgot about the Chelsea transfer ban but aren't they still fighting that? So yeah, if that stays in place then they won't be spending anything!

5.) 13 May 2019 10:45:17
I think Spurs will be dangerous again next season and Arsenal will be much improved personally. I can also see Wolves and Everton potentially overtaking Man U next season.

6.) 13 May 2019 11:30:09
Fully expect Arsenal to be challenging, might close the gap to around 10 points this coming season.
Just a few new additions and watch them take off.

7.) 13 May 2019 13:18:16
Stone, at this rate I see Burnley and Norwich over taking United next season.

8.) 13 May 2019 21:45:30
I think there is a fair argument that none of the chasing pack will catch up to Liverpool and Man City in a year. They surely have to be closer but all 4 won't just jump by 25-30 points. That's just unrealistic.

Chelsea are the closest to us, but they have a transfer embargo looming and potentially will lose their star player. They have a lot of good young players, but that doesn't close a 25 point gap. Hinges on keeping hold of the likes of Hazard and Kante really which they could easily do to be fair.

Spurs are probably the biggest threat. They were well in the title race before their team burnt out. They're also worthy Champions League finalists and may yet beat us to the crown. If Levy pulls his finger out, they can make strides next season and eat away at that gap. I don't know how the stadium debt will affect them but you'd think they have money to spend after 18 months of inactivity and their European run.

Arsenal need an entire new team in between Leno and their strikers. The whole defence and midfield are not up to the required standard. Emery has a bigger rebuild job than even Ole does. I can't see them getting close to Spurs or Us, let alone City.

Onto United and it fair to say they could go either way. They have a lot of good players, but their only world class players don't want to be at the club. They also have a lot who think they're better than they are. They will throw money at the problem as they always do though. If they get the recruitment right you have to say they will be better next season. How can they be worse?

And finally I don't think we should rule out Leceister. Rodgers is a very good coach and Leceister have some of the brightest talents in the Premier League in Chilwell, Ndidi, Barnes, Maddison and Tielemans. Throw in good players like Pereira and Vardy and they arguably have a better starting line-up than Arsenal and Man Utd pre-transfer window. And they will spend big too.

It is okay to praise this squad of Liverpool players. They are the 3rd best team in the divisions history. The gap will be smaller next season, but I don't expect it to be closed and I don't expect a 6 horse title race. I think Spurs will make it a 3 horse race, and Leicester will make it a "Big 7" by breaking into the pack.

Don't for one second think that City and Liverpool will stand still this summer though. Liverpool want the League next year and City want Europe. So they will also be making forward strides! Promises to be another blockbuster season whatever happens so we need to be at the races from GW1.

26 Apr 2019 21:23:46
Not going to lie
I'm already devastated that we haven't won the league already with 91 points.

Unreal season.

Only difference between 2 of the best sides the league has ever seen is a couple of drawn games.

AggerDo

1.) 26 Apr 2019 21:48:54
incredible, to go from the leaky defence we were renowned for, to a +64 goal difference. Outrageous really! We're 19 points above the 3rd spot, crazy season!

2.) 26 Apr 2019 22:18:07
If we don't win the league I'll still be very proud of this season. We're not going anywhere, aslong as we don't go selling Salah Mane etc, we'll be exactly the same next season.

3.) 26 Apr 2019 22:37:50
Whether we end up trophyless or not it's been a fantastic season and the team is one of the best Liverpool sides I've ever seen.

4.) 26 Apr 2019 22:43:11
Thats the worry FC8 will they all stick around? When one goes they all want to go.

5.) 27 Apr 2019 09:13:38
There is always a worry at every big club that a player wants to leave. Even with all their riches, City are terrified that Leroy Sane will go as he has not signed a new deal and does not want to sign a new deal cos well, he is on the bench a tonne. Same for Mahrez and I think, Jesus. This is normal.

If a player wants to leave us then, they go BUT I doubt it. I don't think they will for right now cos we are ALREADY a great team even tho we are not the finished article yet. We are the MOST dangerous team in Europe right now and on the same level with City overall. If a player wants to go to RM or Barcelona then, they can go IMO.

6.) 27 Apr 2019 10:49:47
The only player im worried about losing is Mane. Dunno why, zz back at real. He wanted to sign mane last summer before losing his job. And its a massive deal because mane is massive for us, not just his goals but his interplay and imagination. That back heel that lobbed the saints keeper. God i hope the group stays together coz it IS coming. Perhaps sonner than many believe.

7.) 27 Apr 2019 12:47:02
IMO, Mane is going NOWHERE and even if that, RM can't afford what LFC would want for him which IMO, should be more than what we got for Cou (as Mane is miles ahead of him right now) otherwise, NO DEAL.

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid have no money problems at all and will be paying a lot more for players this summer than Mane is worth.}

Time for Gazzaniga to have an absolute blinder 👍.

AggerDo

1.) 20 Apr 2019 15:00:56
For all of you who were celebrating city crashing out there's your down side 1-0 down after 4 minutes, city knock them out and spurs don't play that side. Hope Ajax do a number on them now and they miss out on top 4. Don't say that could of happened regardless, that result has took them into that game with a totally different mindset.

2.) 20 Apr 2019 15:35:37
What happens with other teams happens, we can only control our own destiny, and that's all we should be focusing on.

3.) 20 Apr 2019 16:13:44
Spurs played well and were unlucky not to get something. I’m as gutted as anybody and it has put a proper downer on my day but there are still 4 games left. United need to produce some kind of reaction at some point and hopefully it willbe in the derby. I know the fans won’t want them to win neccasarily but those united players and ole don’t give two monkeys they’re all playing for their careers and for a champions league place. It was unrealistic to expect spurs to do us two favours in one week.

4.) 20 Apr 2019 16:35:18
United absolutely have to get a result Wednesday, or they will more than likely finish outside of the top 4. I expect an inspired United Wednesday. I hate to say it, but I'll be cheering them on. I hope you all forgive me for that. I have to go take a shower now, I feel dirty for even thinking about cheering for United.

5.) 20 Apr 2019 17:03:59
Spurs were the ones I thought would get a result. City will rout United. I expect City to win the league.
The Champions League on the other hand has Liverpool's name on it.

6.) 20 Apr 2019 17:15:25
Stone I'm totally with you. If it brings home the trophy we crave I'll cheer as loud as any utd fan if they get a result. My dad's the same and he's been going to Anfield since 1962. It's disgusting and makes me feel violated but I think it is justified, just this once surely. Spurs are throwing all their eggs in one basket, just look at their team today. Klopp is saying we're not tired Cs the players have a goal so are motivated so I can't see a difference for a team fighting for top four. I think ajax will knock them out, if not, we'll have them in the final and show them a winning mentality, come on the reds.

7.) 20 Apr 2019 17:48:45
Waro, your gloating is unwarranted, as if City winning in the CL would automatically give Spurs confidence, something that Spurs' perf. today completely debunked. I was one of those who wanted City to lose to Spurs on Wed and I was happy they did. Why? Cos City would be shattered and terrified of going another 12 rounds against Spurs again today and judging by the way the game panned out, I was correct.

City were shattered and utterly terrified of Spurs today and this revealed in how many chances Spurs created not by carving City open, BUT by the amount of simple defensive mistakes City made. Any ball over the top and the "Best team and Best manager in history" were panicking like a female escort during church on Sundays. If City give up that many chances in the game vs Utd (who HAVE to get something from the game) and Rashford and Martial have their shooting boots on then, they are NOT winning the derby, that much is for sure.

Had Son and Moura had their shooting boots on then Spurs would have routed them, FACT. Son alone, could have buried them had he taken two if his three clear chances. Hats off to Spurs who did their fans proud these past 10 days. As for what they do vs Ajax, I'm not arsed one bit about it cos we have to deal with Barcelona on our end. We keep the faith!

8.) 20 Apr 2019 19:43:59
Could not agree with you more RedWolf. Great post that.

9.) 20 Apr 2019 19:45:57
Lol stone, I'm with you too mate, I feel guilty for it but yeah!

10.) 20 Apr 2019 22:33:44
I think he answered that quite quickly by letting in their first goal.

11.) 20 Apr 2019 22:35:43
Seano_ the league is over. We lost it ages ago. The only competition we have any chance in is the champions league.

12.) 20 Apr 2019 22:38:56
Redwolf, what are you talking about, gloating? Gloating about what? You've totally lost me! I wanted City to go through the other night because of the extra games they'd of played and the pressure that was building for the quadruple and the fact spurs probably would of gone to city for at least a point to more or less guarantee top 4. Yet most of you on here were celebrating.

Unbelievable! Don't know what game you were watching but city were the best team for long periods and the young lad foyth was getting ripped by sterling all day, how he wasn't subbed at half time showed spurs weren't really bothered about the result. Oh and by the way, why are you all saying you feel violated etc wanting United to win? Does that make you a bigger Liverpool supporter or something? I hope they win 15-0 and will cheer every goal they score and care not a jot, we need city to drop points ASAP so stop with the faux guilt of wanting a united win.

13.) 20 Apr 2019 22:51:06
salah, we must be long lost relatives, us and AOE for sure.

14.) 20 Apr 2019 23:05:56
I agree with you there, Waro la.

I also wanted City to lose and the one and only upside of a spurs win was to dent their confidence enough to drop points straight after. However they won today (I didn’t see the game or the highlights) they won.

The hope that is United is one I will cling on to!

Now to pull back some Gd against Cardiff.

15.) 20 Apr 2019 23:49:32
Not bothered too much about the City Spurs CL game, I wanted extra time and penalties but that was gone after about 5 mins 😄
Now we rely on City dropping points and I think they’re more likely to drop them at Burnley than Old Trafford.
I want LFC to win the league and CL and if that means I want ManU to win a game then so be it 👍.

16.) 20 Apr 2019 23:52:07
Hahaha, I think you might be right stone mate!

17.) 20 Apr 2019 23:30:04
Why stone? Is it because the three of you are delusional and just keep saying how Great we are when we've won nothing for years? I can't believe how some fans can say we've won the league for sure when it's not in our hands, if we don't win it then I'm sure you'll put some ultra positive spin on it and say we are certainties next year and we'll never lose a game, I can see what your doing, if we win you will float saying "I told you so" but if we don't you will say we'll do it this year and anyone who disagrees is negative and not a red.

18.) 21 Apr 2019 04:49:51
Delusional Waro? more like we're just not negative buggers and can see how good the team are, we believe in the team. If you want to be miserable and ignore that then you go ahead and be that way but don't expect everybody else to follow suit.

Sure we haven't won anything for years but if you can't see how close we are, if you can't see how much this team has improved and are capable of winning stuff now then there's only one delusional one here mate.

19.) 21 Apr 2019 10:23:48
We are a fantastic side Salah and I'm proud of the team and the manager regardless of what happens in the next few weeks, but these "we will smash them" "we will win this league no problem" "they are scared of us" comments are totally delusional and rank up there with "it's our year" nonsense, have that arrogance when we've actually won this league again and are consistently challenging for it. At this moment it's making the three of you look silly and leaving you wide open to stick if it doesn't happen.

20.) 21 Apr 2019 22:19:40
You think I'm bothered if I get a bit of stick mate from people on a website? you think that'll bother me? hahaha you misunderstand mate. If we don't win the league and I get hassle from people like yourself trust me when I say this, I won't be losing any sleep mate lol!

I'll just do it again next season to do your head in.

20 Apr 2019 09:01:29
Have to say I'm more worried about our game @Cardiff rather than City v Spurs.

They are now only a couple of points from safety

Warnick hates us after we seemingly single-handedly relegated him from the PL previously

The game will be full of fouls, set pieces and stoppages to play.

Just hope the Boys keep their focus and don't rise to the bait.

AggerDo

1.) 20 Apr 2019 10:23:10
Keep your head AggerDo. If you think Cardiff will be fighting think about how our lads will be. Who has more motivation? The team who half expects relegation anyway or the team that needs to fight for every ball to win the title? I know who I’d back in that situation. Come on you Redmen!

2.) 20 Apr 2019 10:25:05
Colin will bluster and try to fight dirty but we will steam roller them.

3.) 20 Apr 2019 10:39:11
We will zed, I reckon we'll absolutely hammer them mate. Not worried one bit about the game. Bring them on!

4.) 20 Apr 2019 10:51:53
Thanks to ed002 for the update on next year.

Ed001 I tried looking down a few pages on banter, discussions but couldn't find anything. Can we get the Newcastle game moved to the Saturday, Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - I believe it is possible to request a change but they would have to agree with that and it is unlikely they would want to, but you never know.}

5.) 20 Apr 2019 11:09:38
I think it might have just come through from Sky that it has been moved to Saturday, so looks like good news. Our other fixtures look like they are well placed.

Great time to be a Liverpool fan, thanks ed.

Come on you Spurs.

6.) 20 Apr 2019 11:57:24
Spurs’ Monday game which was 2 days before Ajax game just got moved to a Saturday. Whisper it quietly. Maybe tv does care about English football?

7.) 20 Apr 2019 14:42:57
"Warnick hates us after we seemingly single-handedly relegated him from the PL previously"

In that case. he's going to hate us even more after today!

8.) 20 Apr 2019 17:52:54
AggerDo, of course it is okay for you to be nervous about any game LFC plays. It simply means you care and that you want us to do well. We supporters are allowed to be worried and nervous What you should not do is to let that normal nervousness turn into fear and overreaction. Our boys and manager are fully focused REGARDLESS of all the madness going on around them cos if that was not the case, they would not have been able to put us in the position we are in now. As long as I know that the players and manager are fully focused on what is required of them, my nerves and worries tend to subside.

9.) 20 Apr 2019 22:30:08
Ultimately none of this is in our hands so even if we win all of our remaining games it won’t matter because City are likely to win all of their remaining games, particularly given Pochettino’s latest comments, he’s pretty much said that he’s putting the youths and stiffs out against them this weekend and I’m expecting that’s what City will get for the rest of the season.

05 Feb 2019 20:21:44
Hang in there folks- keep believing
After 18 games we were 4 points clear
After 25 games we are 3 points clear

So City have narrowed the gap by 1point where we have struggled with injuries and form

For me it's about keeping your noses in front.

If City continue to close the gap at the rate above - they'll run out of games.

AggerDo

1.) 05 Feb 2019 21:23:43
AggerDo, that's the spirit, man. We are top until e are not and even if City win vs Everton, we still have a game in hand on them and the longer we keep our noses in front, the more desperate City will become.

2.) 05 Feb 2019 22:55:06
It's disappointing not to capitalise on City dropping points and us not picking up a full 3 but true!

I kinda thought it wouldn't be that easy for us to win it. Liverpool never make it easy XD.

3.) 05 Feb 2019 23:52:34
At that logic, in the next 14 games they will narrow it to one point and played an extra game! We’ve won!

4.) 06 Feb 2019 12:35:51
That’s the best post ever AD 👏🏻.

Who knows

Perhaps Buvac was saying it’s impossible to play that way for a whole season without hitting a dip as the players tire

December we won every game we played

No mid-winter break like in Germany and January/ February we dipped (only slightly-but enough)
