Good day Eds.

Sorry about throwing in a random name, but have we or any other team looked at Youri Tielemans of Anderlecht. Been following the Belgian league and saw him in the Champions League. Very composed for a 17 year old. 18 tomorrow.

I feel he has the potential to be one of the best in his age range in the coming years.

Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - Lots of interest from clubs but not Liverpool.}

1.) 07 May 2015 05:50:16
Hasn't he agreed to join Atletico?

2.) 07 May 2015 06:24:56
Has he agreed to go to Barca in 2016? Saw that on another forum.

Not the ideal result, but we're the only ones to have played the other 5 teams in the top 6 and we're 6 points behind second place.
What we need now is to win consistently.

1.) 25 Nov 2017 19:43:57
B. S. keep thinking that if you want. We have massive massive problems in midfield, defence and goalkeeper.

When we have these problems I wouldn't care if we were 3 points ahead we are not getting top four this year.

And I can't see us getting what we need in Jan.

2.) 25 Nov 2017 19:56:32
Massive problems. calm down geez.

3.) 25 Nov 2017 20:01:55
Wow, Davey. I understand your frustration BUT you are overdoing it, mate. Had we gotten 3 points today, you would be happy and would not be saying that you don't care if we got 3 points or not so I know that crap is BS. Also By the logic in your post, we might as well pack it in and not bother turning up for the next game with that defeatist attitude of yours.

4.) 25 Nov 2017 20:04:37
Is it Davey Sulls or Davey Sulks? Either way we ended up not winning because the current champions scored from a lucky cross. If we beat Barcelona 5-1 you are the kind who would just bitch about how bad we are because messi scored a wonder goal.

5.) 25 Nov 2017 20:10:30
We do have massive problems.

Mignolets left hand, Mignolet right hand, Mignolets left foot and Mignolets right foot.

In all seriousness though, Salah was the only player who played well today.

We would've gotten away with it, if it wasn't for that Mignolet kid.

6.) 25 Nov 2017 20:19:48
Couldnt care less what ye think lads. Sorry.

We won't do anything with a bunch of top class wingers, no. 10s and Joe Gomez. They are amazing but they simply won't carry the rest to top four.

It's just too much weight.

7.) 25 Nov 2017 20:26:11
I don’t think salah was the only player. We defended better as a unit but had our usual scary moments. I think Ox has to play more forward or he is wasted.

Poor Milner was lost though, I needn’t say more.

But Moreno/ Gomez were good, and will only continue to improve. I’m just disappointed we drew to a goal of that lack of quality. Still a lot to play for this season!

8.) 25 Nov 2017 20:28:04
You are blaming Mignolet for the goal MK? I thought it was an excellent chip myself!

9.) 25 Nov 2017 20:40:14
Watch it again rover. His footwork was horrible, was like he had no idea were the posts were.

10.) 25 Nov 2017 20:49:40
Right. I overstepped the mark with one comment when I said I could care less what ye think. I read the site everyday and I'm always intrigued by the insight of fellow reds.

I'm sticking with everything else though. It would be a miracle if the forwards can Carry the rest to top four.

Surely now is the time for Ward. I would love to see him get crack.

Mignolet shod have saved that. His slow feet cost us again.

Henderson was awful.

Klavan a bag of nerves.

Moreno and Matip were decent but they 'll haunt us in another game.

Milner can't pass.

Wijnaldum just far too inconsistent.

Lovren is having a mare of a season.

I mean honestly. I know our forwards are class but they can't carry them. I HOPE they do but can't see it.

We urgently need a dm gk and cb. That is critical.

11.) 25 Nov 2017 21:33:01
So just to clarify, Davey. Same old doom and gloom with the typical self defeating attitude from your initial post and now this one. Roger that, mate!

12.) 25 Nov 2017 21:34:34
MK, I agree with you that Migs could have shuffled his feet better and would have had a better chance at reaching the ball cos w/ o shuffling his feet, he got 3 fingers on the ball. Had he actually moved them quicker, he prolly would have gotten a much fuller fist to the ball. Oh well, we move on as frustrating as it is.

13.) 25 Nov 2017 22:24:26
But Davey, if we were that bad why did Chelsea not hammer us . Plus Migs did make 3 good saves to keep us in the game . and yes we should bring in another keeper, but that won't happen till next summer .
I do feel that when Chelsea brought on their 3 attacking players, we should have went 5 at the back, they were going for our left side a lot .
I don't think this was the game to introduce Lallana back after nearly 4 months out,
I also think that we should have started with Mane, Milner was a bit lost in midfield .
having said all that, we could and should have hung on for the 3 points .
I don't think that we used our subs the best way,
but we were only 5 mins away from a massive win .

14.) 25 Nov 2017 23:49:35
Taxi for migs, lovren, moreno, hendo, and sturridge.
Sure I'll be slated but these players are just not good enough in my opinion.

15.) 26 Nov 2017 03:21:32
I think we need to put karius or ward in ASAP. Right now i don’t think either is better than migs and they will make mistakes of their own. My hope is they will learn from them and hopefully by season end or even next season will be better than migs is right now. Migs had 4 years to improve and is still making the same errors as he was day 1.

16.) 26 Nov 2017 04:39:51
tj red. "defended well as a unit but had ouy usual scary moments" your contradicting yourself in the same sentence.

17.) 25 Nov 2017 21:09:29
Agree totally - other than salah and a good goal lfc were poor tonight. A jumbled selection consisting of several who are just not up to scratch produced a disjointed performance with little creativity (salah apart) . klopp may have got away with it tonight . just.

18.) 25 Nov 2017 21:13:53
Also Peterm, please don't call me David sulks again.

At first I saw it as a low level dig but it grew 😀.

19.) 25 Nov 2017 22:47:33
Happy, Klopp said in his post match comments, that he was trying to bring Lallana and Mane on earlier so we can go 5 at the back (I guess with Klavan, Gomez and Matip in a back 3 with Milner and Moreno as wing backs) BUT the ref kept delaying and delaying then the goal came for Chelsea hence, Klopp's ire.

I disagree that he did not use his subs well. Like Sevilla, the changes he made there and today was spot on. People are simply looking at changes as a zero-sum issue as in, if we win then the changes worked. If we did not win then the changes did not work. That is a very shallow way of looking at football. Klopp brought on Wiji to strengthen the midfield. You have to see the intent behind the changes being made so you can judge the thinking behind it and on that front, Klopp's intention was very understandable and cos we did not win does not, mean the subs were wrong. That is simplistic thinking.

On the goal, the defence actually did its job to force Willian well wide and then w/ o looking up he just chipped in a cross to the back post where Alonso and Morata were and it went in. Frustration BUT we move on.

20.) 26 Nov 2017 07:49:33
Swisch, Karius is light years ahead of Migs in every level of theGK position and that much is clear esp. after his brilliant perf. vs Sevilla where his saves at 1-0 allowed us to go 3 nil up and his overall performances this season have been encouraging. The fact that he is not playing right now is down to Klopp's mismanagement of the GK position and per Ed01, the fact that he is afraid that the fans will turn on Karius again if he makes a mistake. I disagree with that BUT I understand it. In the end tho, Klopp has to act cos Migs will hurt us again this season. That much is clear.

09 Sep 2017 17:49:40
Ed02 is in fine form today with his banter. as if he has been waiting all year for Liverpool to lose by a wide margin.
It's all good though. At the end of the day, it's still 3 points.
Hope Klopp has learnt and would stop playing Klavan against pacy strikers. His lack of speed makes him want to drop deep even if everyone is pushing up.
Not bashing Salah, but this is probably the 3rd straight match he's one-on-one with the 'keeper - on that right side - and he's trying to curl it round. Perhaps he should work more on his finishing.
I know it's only the 4th game, but I hope we're looking at bringing in a CB this January. I think the top 4 teams of last season will finish in the top 4 again. but a CB can be decisive w. r. t where we finish.

{Ed002's Note - They might be a bit rough around the edges but there is no rhyme or reason to hang them out to dry just yet.}

1.) 09 Sep 2017 18:05:45
Salah was the only player today that had any chances. Those chances were created by his speed and runs. Without Salah there would have been no chances to talk about.

{Ed002's Note - Sadly he zigged when he should have zagged.}

2.) 09 Sep 2017 18:43:41
Exactly Ed. Hindsight is perfect sight but he needs to vary it a bit and just ping it into the nearer post with his right foot a la Michael Owen. Still ok with Salah tho. Wasn't our day today and I thought City were better even before Mane walked.

{Ed001's Note - he doesn't need to vary it, just be more precise, as he was not putting it wide enough.}

3.) 09 Sep 2017 19:47:36
Salah beats men and gets chances - when that stops it's something to worry about - not now!

4.) 09 Sep 2017 20:08:54
Suarez went through a part of a season where he struggled to hit the target with consistency. Salah is not Suarez, I'm not saying he is, be patient, he is getting chances and in the right positions. He will come good.

5.) 09 Sep 2017 22:05:02
Rumour has it salah has a glass eye 👁‍🗨 and that is why he is so one sided. Can you clarify this eds?

6.) 10 Sep 2017 01:06:11
youd think they would have him just practising that same shot in training because he gets into that situation so often.

7.) 10 Sep 2017 01:07:42
he could get 30+ goals a season if he mastered it.

31 Aug 2017 19:03:56
If Ox is the last transfer, would've been a good window. Got in players for the positions we need - outside CB.
Hope the players that want out will get good deals to the clubs they want.
Icing on the cake would be Emre Can signing a new contract. If only he hadnt agreed to move to Juventus.

30 Aug 2017 10:54:29
Barcelona going for Lemar. Lazy journalism, I suppose. But it would be interesting if they got him and left Pipco. Imagine the scene when Pipco resumes. Lol.

29 Aug 2017 17:23:36
Why not Draxler instead of Lemar. Cheaper option, been able to adapt in a different country, so adaptation might not be a problem (Just saying. Not bashing Lemar)
And why does Klopp want 3 goalkeepers. He's going to stifle the development of 1 of them. Still hope Ward leaves on loan.

1.) 29 Aug 2017 17:39:11
Lemar will flourish with us look wat we did with coutinho, suarez, firminio, mane an many more when the quality is there we as a club bring it out the players especially under klopp, jus hope we get a good centre back hopefully u know who!

2.) 29 Aug 2017 17:46:14
Coz he snubbed us once!

3.) 29 Aug 2017 18:40:28
Incorrect, Harry. He did not snub us cos we did not and were never in for him. If I'm not mistaken, Ed02 mentioned that repeatedly in January when many were moaning as to why Klopp did not sign him before he went to PSG.

I'll go for Goretzka with or without Keita. I expect to lose Coutinho and Can. Goretzka-Hendo-Keita.

Barcelona bidding at 7:30 would be interesting though. 15 mins before kickoff, with the players wondering if he would be sold before the end of the 1st half. Lol.
Unless they don't get to see the news.

I doubt we can get Donnarumma Ed01. Wouldn't he be crazy expensive? Like €100m expensive or something insane like that?
Secondly, I believe it would be difficult to sign an "acceptable" left back. There are very few who understand that as defenders, they're meant to defend first.

{Ed001's Note - his contract is running down, he would have been available for a reasonable price.}

Ox and VVD. 90m wasted if we get both. Just go all out for Mendy and prepare for next season.

I'm one of those that think Guardiola isn't that fantastic of a manager. What can't be denied though is that he has an idea of how he wants to play (especially in attack) and he goes after those players. Having large transfer funds obviously helps, but at this stage, his success can't be denied.
I don't rate him among the top tier coaches like SAF etc, especially seeing the way he destroyed a balanced Bayern team, but I must say I've a better opinion of him than I used to.

If Coutinho goes, I won't look for a like replacement. I'll go for Leon Goreztka.
But then, even if Coutinho stays, I'll still go for Goreztka.

I'll go with Juan Manuel Lillo and Juup Henyckes.

Juan Manuel Lillo because his ideas are brilliant and will bring out the best in the attacking lineup.

Juup Henyckes because he'll bring balance and control to the team.
