Good day Eds.

Sorry about throwing in a random name, but have we or any other team looked at Youri Tielemans of Anderlecht. Been following the Belgian league and saw him in the Champions League. Very composed for a 17 year old. 18 tomorrow.

I feel he has the potential to be one of the best in his age range in the coming years.

Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - Lots of interest from clubs but not Liverpool.}

1.) 07 May 2015 05:50:16
Hasn't he agreed to join Atletico?

2.) 07 May 2015 06:24:56
Has he agreed to go to Barca in 2016? Saw that on another forum.

Firmino is just sensational. And he plays so well every game, you're almost tempted to take it for granted.

1.) 06 Nov 2016 17:01:47
Works so hard too.

2.) 06 Nov 2016 21:56:57
he used to give away the ball so cheaply and just in general look so casual on the field. He's not quite Suarez fiery, but he has brought some intelligent bite to his game. really good to watch him. remember when he returned frmo summer a bit pudgy!? lol.

Ed01, you gave a review of the coaches before the season started, and you didn't seem to think Chelsea would be that competitive (which I hoped meant out of the top 4) with Conte.
Is he doing something different now? This Chelsea team is playing well and here I was hoping for one less rival. I was hoping Chelsea wouldn't be part of the top 4 because of him.

{Ed001's Note - I said he would improve things and steady the ship, which is what he has done. They still had the team that won the league just a couple of seasons ago and added the best centre mid in Europe to it. Tactically he will get caught out by the top coaches, but he will be fine to get them into Europe. It is just that he is never going to win the Champions League, which is what Abramovich spends the money for.}

1.) 05 Nov 2016 19:20:54
Thanks. They can qualify for Europe as long as Liverpool finishes above them.
This season is going to be very difficult. And Man Utd hasn't even started playing well yet.

2.) 06 Nov 2016 08:05:00
He and they will be found out. This is the prem, systems rarely get 6 months before there sussed.

This is the exact same style we played and won for like 10 games under Brendan after Suarez left, December -Feb. Then we got worked out and it all went to crap.

3 at the back eaithet gets you some good results to begin with in thus league or it just doesn't work. They won't be able to stay like this.

Can someone ask Tite why Firmino isn't in Brazil's team.

1.) 06 Oct 2016 18:56:56
K. Will do.

2.) 06 Oct 2016 19:05:24
Less chance of him suffering an injury. Win win for us.

3.) 06 Oct 2016 21:11:14
He is mate . He's in the squad.

4.) 06 Oct 2016 23:00:50
did he play at all?

5.) 06 Oct 2016 23:01:14
ahh not started yet my bad.

6.) 07 Oct 2016 17:51:07
He came of the bench vs Bolivia and scored. I watched the game last night.

Still smarting from the game yesterday.
I think the club has a big problem with the full backs. Sevilla's left back was poor in the first half yesterday and considering that Clyne's "strength" is in his forward play because he's really lacking defensively, he couldn't really take advantage. For Moreno, there really is nothing to say that hasn't been said. It's shocking that a professional footballer can be that appalling.
Kolo was tremendous yesterday. The run and block when he ran past Can to stop Gameiro at 1-1 was top class. Moreno didn't help him by playing out of position everytime though.
Milner/ Can clearly won't work against top teams. We really missed Henderson. At 1-1 and playing the way we were, he would've gotten into everyone's faces and made them step up.
And Lallana has got to go. I've been a big supporter due to his pressing, but he's the worst player I've seen when transitioning from defense to attack. I watched Dortmund a lot under Klopp, and they had the best transitioning team in Europe (to me anyway) . Lallana is the antithesis of that.
Hope we can get a left back that knows how to defend, Mario Gotze and a goalkeeper that isn't afraid to come out of his or use his legs.
And finally, not a criticism of Klopp, but we need to learn how to slow down the game. Play at a really calm tempo, try to control the game. A bit of Bayern, Barca. Let the players relax and the ball do the movement. We can't gegenpress for 90 minutes.

1.) 19 May 2016 09:25:53
He'll have toadapt somehow. But its difficult to do that with players that aren't technically proficient and intelligent to do that.

13 Dec 2015 18:32:04
Personally, I would never start Benteke in a league game. Does little for the fast-pace, high-pressing game. I hope Klopp reverts back to Coutinho-Lallana-Firmino.
And getting a goalkeeper surely has to be a priority. The 'keeper should win the team points not lose points like Mignolet always does.
Playing Mignolet and Benteke at the same time, it's like saying "we want to concede and not score". and I say that without meaning to insult their abilities.

1.) 13 Dec 2015 18:50:16
Origi to start for me, until Benteke shows in cup/european games that he can offer the movement that Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana can benefit from.

All three are rendered ineffective with Benteke in front of them. We have no mid week game until the 30th, Klopp gets some real coaching time to try and change these things and fix up our set piece defending. Defending from open play not the issue it used to be.

2.) 13 Dec 2015 19:55:49
Agreed. I also think it's high time Mingo got benched because he keeps costing us goals with his errors.

3.) 13 Dec 2015 21:09:06
A keeper is a priority, we won't do too much till we get a top class keeper. just look back at the last twenty odd years, Leeds had Martyn's and lukic in the for of their lives, Everton had southall, Blackburn had flowers who at the time was brilliant, Arsenal had seaman, United had schmeichel and van de sar, all these teams had their best successes with their best keepers, no coincidence.

'Keeper, centre back, left back, left winger. To me those are the top priorities. I won't say which players should be signed, but they should be those that can slot in to the 1st team, not backups.
And Stewart should be given game time. I'd rather play him when Hendo is out, rather than Can. but that's just me. That's his preferred role, instead of shoehorning Can into a position he really isn't disciplined enough to play.
Stewart may not be ready, to some, but he won't be if he doesn't play.

A goalkeeper (which puts Wards place in question), a left back and a centre back.
I don't think we need a striker. Not with Sturridge and Origi. Though the problem this season is they haven't done enough to pressure Firmino or Klopp.

Losing 3-2 at home to Swansea is meant to be criticized. Doesn't mean fans are fickle. When should fans wait to criticize the team? At the end of the season when the team doesn't get a champions league spot?

Personally, I would prefer Bonucci or Alderweireld (Lol) .

Personally, I don't think it's that Firmino can't play without Coutinho. I think Firmino isn't suited for the left wing. He does a job there, sure. But he isn't playing at his best. Origi might have scored 5 in a row (which is fantastic) and Sturridge is hopefully on his way to full recovery, but for me, I'll start Bobby in the middle ahead of them. That's where he's at his best.
I believe the team is good as it is. Just need a CB to partner Matip and Stewart to get more gametime (cos he's the most natural backup to Hendo) . I would give Karius time and seeing as I haven't seen Danny Ward, I can't comment on whether or not he can challenge Karius next season (I still expect Mignolet to leave)
