I posted around a week ago that we have made a bid for deli Ali. Only got the info from a friend.
With what has been going on over last 24 hours my friend is insistent that it's Ali but we are quite short on the asking price.

1.) 12 Jan 2018 13:04:01
Alli is over rated and over priced.

2.) 12 Jan 2018 13:06:00
We should never have let him slip the net. He supports liverpool and if my memory serves me correctly the MK Dons manager at the time all but delivered Alli to Rodgers who declined the offer.

3.) 12 Jan 2018 13:33:12
Well that's a lie brez

Brendan met with Dele at the Hilton and everything was all but sorted apart from deeming 5 million to much.

4.) 12 Jan 2018 14:10:11
Did we offer the right wages this time.

5.) 12 Jan 2018 14:32:15
Clearly my memory didn't serve me that correctly.

6.) 12 Jan 2018 15:22:45
Wasn't Rodgers fault over the money he wanted him to sign it was others at the club wouldn't sanction payin the extra.

7.) 12 Jan 2018 16:23:51
In response to Ali signing for Liverpool, I read that the reason Ali didn’t sign for us was Stevie G was in the hotel where he met Rogers but it was late and he was in bed. Ali took it that he wasn’t valued and signed for Spurs instead.

I await the replies but I am sure that’s what I read.

8.) 12 Jan 2018 16:55:32
Forget about the Ali to Liverpool saga. I'm sure there are hundreds more examples of clubs including others at Liverpool where a bargain was let slip through the net because of a simple under sight.

It also works the other way. Look at Inter. They sold whatshisname to us for around the £8 million mark.

9.) 12 Jan 2018 18:00:26
Yeah and man u sold pogba to Juve for peanuts.

10.) 12 Jan 2018 18:09:20
Interesting reasons. The only one I’ve ever heard or seen is that we thought the wages he wanted were too high otherwise the deal is done. Anyway on the pitch he’s a petulant and dirty player who has been lucky (or protected) to date otherwise he would have 2 or 3 more straight reds to his name by now.

Personally I’d rather see Eriksen as he seems to have been the one really making them tick.

11.) 12 Jan 2018 19:06:54
My understanding of the Alli situation was that Rodgers wanted to buy him and put him in the under 19s or under 23s and Potch wanted him for the 1st team so he chose Spurs.

12.) 12 Jan 2018 19:08:31
Ali does have a bad attitude, and he will get caught out soon, yes he is protected, why, well the powers that be, want the top four teams in every cup semi final, and to stay in the top four, making more TV money, yes, money talks .

13.) 12 Jan 2018 19:10:00
Forget all I it's greizmann.

14.) 12 Jan 2018 19:15:55
If rodgers had been to one to coach alli, and not pochettino, i doubt he would be the same player he is now. I think he has unfairly come under criticism for no good reason, he has the unwanted burden of being english and being built up for every small good thing he does, and knocked down for every tiny bad thing he does. Gerrard was always getting sent off at his age. He has a lot of talent and by his mid twenties will have developed into a great player imo, so long as he keeps his head down. He is an unfair victim of the culture of two extremes we have here in england.

15.) 13 Jan 2018 00:10:45
Kwhizz I remember reading the same thing about Gerrard being in bed and Ali not feeling important enough because of it 😂 good ol silly journalism lol.

16.) 13 Jan 2018 00:15:56
Apparently you are correct. Mystery Player X is Dele Alli. but Spurs unlikely to sell to us.

17.) 13 Jan 2018 13:46:51
The story which has been confirmed by Rodgers was that personal terms where agreed with Alli but the club would not match Spurs bid of 5m which seems insignificant now but at the time it seemed a fairly high price for a player in the third tier.

Alex twiddle has told me rafa benitez has asked his representation to put the feelers out for a return to lfc.
Apparently rafa is hoping to take the hot seat if klopp was sacked, quit or at the end of klopps contact.
Apparently he would be considered but certainly not 1st choice. Apparently the Watford manager is the one the powers that be are keeping their eyes on.

1.) 11 Aug 2017 16:29:16

2.) 11 Aug 2017 16:34:16
Negative Red Walter fulfilling his namesake!

3.) 11 Aug 2017 17:14:33
I think something funny is going on. That guy from sky said the other day that klopp's agent, who is agent to a number of players in Germany, did not want to send players to liverpool. Why? I expected klopp to bring in a few German players or former dortmund players. It hasn't happened and why has klopp not brought more quality to liverpool this window? There are only two available players who would improve us? Rubbish, and they aren't even available are they? . Perhaps klopp has his sights set somewhere else? B Munich? I hope not as I love the football we play under JK.

Something doesn't ring true about us this summer, I don't know what's going on. Klopp surely isn't looking at getting the sack, that's for sure. So why is rafa talking about lfc. Would take rafa over silva all day. Although rafa style is not as good to watch, it did bring us a hell of a lot more trophies.

Is klopp lined up for international team?

4.) 11 Aug 2017 17:21:33
I strongly suspect that Rafa would've left Newcastle over lack of transfers by now, except that he thinks that Klopp will be tempted away from Liverpool in the next couple of years and he doesn't want to either be out of football, or be only a year or two into a new job when the Liverpool vacancy arises.

I can't see FSG going for him though.

5.) 11 Aug 2017 17:27:21
Youre are all chatting bubbles. Klopps going nowhere.

6.) 11 Aug 2017 17:51:19
FSG + Benitez = ice cold water into a pot of boiling hot oil.

It ain't going to happen. Benitez had his time at Liverpool so let sleeping dogs lie.

7.) 11 Aug 2017 17:52:31
Jimble, they said the same about Pipco. But we know how that's going.

8.) 11 Aug 2017 18:34:50
Jeez it's early to be on the drink isn't it?

9.) 12 Aug 2017 03:32:33
For one I'd love to have Rafa back over klopp any given day. He was a genius. No LFC manager since 98 gets even close.

10.) 12 Aug 2017 03:34:44
One day, if klopp ever goes I'd love rafa to come back. Brilliant manager. But I'd rather klopp stayed for a long time as he WILL win the league if given time. It could happen this year, I'm not sure. He'll get us there. Fickle British press are underrated at your peril though.

23 Sep 2015 01:16:42
Ok this will be worst rumour of the year but my friend belives it's none other than Jimmy Floyd hasslebaink that's being looked at and might also be at the start of next season
I asked for his sourse but got the reply you just wait and see.

If salah does beat the record of Premiership goals he has to win player of the year.
I know De Bruyne has has been exceptionally good and will win the Premier league but salah performance warrents the award more.
He has smashed my prediction of goals and in my opinion deserves to be recognised with the award.

1.) 18 Mar 2018 09:49:13
Yeah KDB had been exceptional but there's no doubt about it, Salah has been the better out of the two.

2.) 18 Mar 2018 10:14:50
Salah has nearly as many assists and has a bucket load of goals, playing in an inferior team, Salah deserves it.

3.) 18 Mar 2018 10:42:48
It might be selfish but I'd take the CL trophy over Salah wining player of the year 😉.

4.) 18 Mar 2018 11:09:59
Jayden - I'm pretty sure Salah would take that compromise too!

5.) 18 Mar 2018 13:20:00
Jay pretty much every LFC fan or player, would take that.

6.) 18 Mar 2018 14:22:16
I always look at it in this way, if you take KDB out of city’s team would they still be top? Whilst being considerably worse I do think they’d still be winning the league.

Take Salah away from us and I’d argue we could be below arsenal, purely hypothetical I know but there has to be a stronger case for Salah right now. Maybe the quarter final will swing the votes with who comes out on top.

{Ed001's Note - I think David Silva has a better argument than De Bruyne personally. He makes City tick and they struggled while he was out.}

7.) 18 Mar 2018 16:09:10
Thats a good point eds, Silva is a genius, KDB has had a top season but Silva has been running that MF for years, he's 32 but it doesn't even look like that has had any effect on him.

I would give it to Salah though, top goal scorer from a wide position. beating the likes of Aguero and kane who are the main men. Additionally has bags of assists. Plus his first season in the prem, was not expected he would have quite as much as an impact and tbh has made the entire world of football stop and think, yeah he's pretty special.

8.) 18 Mar 2018 21:59:03
Second season in prem tbf, if he takes the golden boot I think he will win player of the year, if we won ucl it's defo. If City win ucl it will probably be kdb.

9.) 19 Mar 2018 13:13:53
Lads if and I say if we win the champions league. Salah is on for the balon dore!

He s on 37 goals with a potential 12 games left. He could hit 50 this season and 35 in the league, he could even go for Ronaldos 36 prem goal record.

Forget poty let de bryune have that even though he has been nowhere near salah. It's been aguero and Silva leading the way for them!

17 Mar 2018 18:53:21
Well I got my prediction wrong. Let's hope Mane can get on the score sheet.

1.) 17 Mar 2018 19:38:15
Its all good in the hood though, another one you got wrong btw, 33 goals? 36 and counting.

2.) 17 Mar 2018 19:42:07
no one to gloat mate but the front three were on fire today next time have a little faith in the team you claim to support
it will go a long way mate trust me
have a lovely evening mate enjoying our victory.

3.) 17 Mar 2018 19:42:23

Just want to thanks to mk for his write up. Guys if you not read it give it a read. Good on you dude I hope to read more.

1.) 07 Mar 2018 00:15:34
Cheers Walter. Very kind of you to go out of your way to post this.

01 Feb 2018 10:48:30
Mr edd 2 if I may ask a few people seem scared to ask about the potential buy out for lfc. The ccp from China want to buy the club. Is there any truth to this.
I understand if you wish not to comment but thought I'd ask. Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of the Chinese Communist Party looking to buy Liverpool.}

1.) 01 Feb 2018 12:55:29
Thank Mr 2 all the best.

2.) 01 Feb 2018 13:02:25
The reds taking over the reds? Lol.

3.) 01 Feb 2018 13:31:29
All the fans can have 100k a week to level it up with the players. That's how communism works right?

4.) 01 Feb 2018 14:16:13
"Chairman Mao has never seen a greater show of Red strength".

5.) 01 Feb 2018 14:25:38
I hate noodles .

6.) 01 Feb 2018 15:36:58
Please no, when we sign Neymar and Messi it will bankrupt the club.

16 Jan 2018 18:37:13
Genuine question here, does anyone else think we have peaked during the man City match?
I have a sneaky feeling that other teams will be picking up points and adding to their respective teams which in turn could cost us a top 4 place.
I am very pleased with how we are currently playing and our position in the league and the vvd addition should help us loads.

1.) 16 Jan 2018 19:22:37
No, quite the opposite. I think we will have a much better second half to the season than the first.

The first Man City game derailed us a bit - lost a bit of confidence, lost Mane who was in the form of his life, and just generally lost our way a bit.

It seems to have taken us to just about pre Christmas I would say to get back to where we were mentality wise. Now we seem to believe in ourselves again. I actually believe we will get second this season.

{Ed025's Note - so do i nick..

2.) 16 Jan 2018 19:42:17
Good post Nick, I also think second place is ours for the taking.

3.) 16 Jan 2018 19:52:56
Nick, interesting point of view. Obviously I hope you are correct. Let's wait and see what the season has is store for us.
We have many lower teams coming up and history will show we can struggle against the so called lesser teams let's hope we pick up a good portion of the points on offer.

4.) 16 Jan 2018 19:58:48
Good old negativewalter always looking for the positives!

5.) 16 Jan 2018 21:44:32
Its all in the lights lads, believe in the red and green and yellow and blue and orange etc well you get the picture. 😊.

6.) 16 Jan 2018 23:33:15
I thought this season we'd put the struggling to beat lesser clubs to bed for a while, and we now couldn't beat top teams, oh wait that was last week, give me strength.

I think lallana should be given at least another season quite a useful player when fully fit.
Sturridge ings mignolet possibly moreno would be my guess as to the favourites to go. I think milner keeps a squad place due to the number of positions he can play.

I'd be happy with that midfield but I'd keep Llanna too.

I have stated that I thought salahs goals would dry up about a month ago I was of the opinion he might be a 1 season wonder.
The feller is beating all expectations. I hope he can continue for at least another season. Really hope he picks up player of the year award.

Big high 5 from me.

I think lallana should be given one more year. Maybe not a starter but a little bit of quality off the bench. Have a great day heir to matuidi.

It's not a fair system he has to be in the top 5 players in Europe. Ronaldo who I believe to be the best player on the planet is nowhere near salah performance wise this year.
Looks like its messi this year.

If he can get a garuntee about a % of games played then that would be good. Failing that maybe a team like Newcastle or saints to get his carrer back on track.
