According to Paul Joyce we want Jorginho from Napoli in the summer. Would be some deal if we can get him in.

1.) 24 Feb 2018 21:55:14
Now we’re talking! Hope so.

2.) 24 Feb 2018 22:10:57
With him being so popular we’d probably have to steal him to get him😏.

3.) 24 Feb 2018 22:02:41
Nah. Just another name not mentioned by the eds. Not having it.

4.) 25 Feb 2018 00:24:14

5.) 25 Feb 2018 01:57:27
Seriously. What player in world football wouldn’t look at what Liverpool are doing right now and not want to play for them if they come knocking? The only things to hold them back are money. The trophies will come. Believe.

6.) 25 Feb 2018 03:04:07
Perfect midfielder for our system. We get a proper No.6 and allows Hendo to move into his preferred position and as a utility player.

7.) 25 Feb 2018 05:44:23
Jorginho lob balls to the Fab 3 will be nightmare for any team. Imagine having to mark Salah, Firmino and Mane all at once with lob balls falling from all sorts of place. This guy can defend and turn it to lightning pace counter. To me we must get him at all cost!

8.) 25 Feb 2018 14:26:02
Jorginho (if true) would be a spectacular addition. The Xabi Alonso type of player to sit alongside Keita and Hendo/ Wijnaldum (choose one) .

9.) 25 Feb 2018 15:26:25
Kwkhong, then add into the equation that if teams drop deep to stop the runs in behind we will have Naby to pick the ball up in the spaces. Fingers crossed we really push on in the next window and get some top top talent.

24 Jan 2018 12:29:30
Ed002, is there going to be a sharkopod going up soon? Not thinking of just Liverpool but teams like Arsenal and Spurs. Always interested I listen to them even when it's not to do with Liverpool.

{Ed002's Note - For a few other clubs hopefully.

1.) 24 Jan 2018 13:19:14
Okay I look forward to hearing them mate.

06 Jan 2018 12:15:35
Ed001, are you able to throw any names into the ring about who you've heard we're interested in? We've heard from ed002 but it'd be interesting to hear what your contacts are telling you about any additional targets that we have.
Thanks mate.

{Ed001's Note - right now I have nothing to add to what Ed002 has said, but I am still trying to chase up people after having had a couple of weeks off. There is the possibility of Keita, who wants to sort out a deal to come now, if not we are considering Ceballos or another central mid and a replacement for Coutinho. As far as I can find out, that is all for January, unless someone suddenly becomes available Klopp wants.}

1.) 06 Jan 2018 12:39:43
Is Goretzka completly off the table, if it was ever there? Would love to see Keita join in january, but wouldn't mind Goretzka or Ceballos at all. As for Coutinhos replacement if you will, would that stand between Mahrez or Lemar, or do Liverpool have got other subjects up their sleeve?

{Ed001's Note - Goretzka was the other central mid I was referring to, I just couldn't think of his name! I do not know of any interest in Mahrez but there is interest in Lemar.}

2.) 06 Jan 2018 13:12:24
Cudnt we give Leipzig grujic on loan or some other players on fringes in exchange for keita now great experience for him, also seeing as emre can leaving do u think we will replace him like for like as in tall powerful enforcer I like that type of player in our midfield and I am sure we would feel the hit of not having them attributes in central midfield areas, at one stage I thought grujic might b one answer but he doesn't seem to have adapted or progressed I hope he does.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

3.) 06 Jan 2018 13:32:56
now that ed01 and ed02. have given all the info we need can we please stop throwing random names and questions of when it will happen its taking too long to sift through all the nonsense that people are posting and no doubt the ed's are just fed up with it all.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 14:42:13
It's a rumours site.

I appreciate the frustration but some of us don't visit every day and the search engine isn't consistent.

5.) 06 Jan 2018 15:45:53
You don't visit everyday!? Wow! 😂.

6.) 06 Jan 2018 16:32:31
Giantkey you should be visiting hourly let alone daily!

7.) 06 Jan 2018 17:04:26
Thanks ed, that's great mate!

{Ed001's Note - glad to help.}

8.) 07 Jan 2018 17:04:43
To be fair lads when VVD was flirting with us over the summer I spammed the refresh key like nobody's business.

I'm just jealous I can't be on here all the time to keep up to date 😂.

02 Jun 2017 20:20:06
Lyon and Monaco are the latest clubs linked with Origi. Someone mentioned yesterday that Lazio are interested too. Ed is any of this true?
Also regarding Mendy, are we willing to change our stance or is it looking increasingly unlikely?

{Ed025's Note - i have heard nothing on origi daredman, and city look in the box seat with mendy at the moment but its by no means a done deal yet mate..

1.) 02 Jun 2017 21:25:22
Cheers ed, I know you must be sick and tired of answering about mendy now. He is the left back we need imo.

{Ed025's Note - no problem mate..

2.) 03 Jun 2017 10:19:19
It seems a shame for us to miss out on Mendy if what Macca says is true and he did want to join us.

As annoying as it is we can't afford to match the wages City can offer and we have to live within our means.

14 Dec 2016 17:02:07
Brannagan loan to Bolton seems to be on the cards in January. I really hope he can kickstart his career and make a big impression.
Are any other loan deals on the cards for January?

U19s are in action away against Man City in the Youth Champions League. 1pm kick off today and it's on bt sport 2 so it shouldn't be too difficult to watch if you're about. Huge game for the youngsters.

1.) 14 Mar 2018 13:02:46
Good shout 👍.

2.) 14 Mar 2018 13:38:19
Nice touch by miller to leave his man behind, looks promising.

3.) 14 Mar 2018 14:05:12
1-1 half time. Not many chances but pretty tense and I feel this game could go either way.
Curtis Jones scored for us and a deflected free kick equalised for them. Adekanye looking good, as to is Jones and Millar. Adam Lewis having a tough time with their right winger.

25 Feb 2018 13:15:54
Hey ed002,
About this time last year you said that Klopp briefed certain members of the media about transfer targets etc. You said yourself this was a bad move and I agree 100%, but does Klopp see it as a bad move and will he be doing it again this season do you think?
The reason I ask is because Paul Joyce, one of those that was briefed last year, came out with a bit of transfer news last night and mentioned a couple of names even.
Thanks in advance!

{Ed002's Note - It backfired on him and I would think that the club would be livid if he did it again.)

1.) 25 Feb 2018 16:41:10
Thanks for the response ed.

2.) 25 Feb 2018 16:51:02
its February the summer is way off, the only thing klopp needs to be doing atm is making sure Liverpool finish in the top 4, we need to learn from our past mistakes, not go on repeating them.

3.) 25 Feb 2018 17:41:20
Klopp has learnt. He has kept the squad fitness levels much higher that they were last season.

4.) 25 Feb 2018 18:52:54
Don't See him going to Blackpool anytime soon!

5.) 25 Feb 2018 21:38:27
He'd better not be doing that again.

22 Feb 2018 18:26:24
I dunno about everyone else but I'm looking forward to the next sharkopod😄.

1.) 22 Feb 2018 18:51:01
Really hope there is one before too long :)

2.) 22 Feb 2018 20:46:40
It seems like Ed2 has told us what he knows so far, I think it might be worth leaving it closer to the summer then he may have more info on other targets. But yeah, I still wouldn't mind one now :)

{Ed002's Note - I am technically homeless and need to be in Israel for about a week - prod me in a couple of weeks but as you say I think you have much of what I know. But you are all clearly in need of a little musical education still. Perhaps we can roll out the Caretakers of Deception - or maybe the Painted Ship's "Frustration" would be more suitable.}

3.) 22 Feb 2018 22:07:52
Two things I like about Sharkopod:
(1) Ed002's dulcet tones.

(2) The music. It's always excellent.

4.) 22 Feb 2018 21:30:39
Yeah Ed, stick some 'Caretakers of Deception - Cuttin' Grass' in there ha ha! - Have fun in Israel mate, who we signing from there then? lol :)

5.) 22 Feb 2018 21:41:44
Where in Israel Ed, spent some time in Tel Aviv in the last two years. Interesting country and city, both positive and negative. Getting there is the drama to end all dramas, lol.

{Ed002's Note - I am in Tel Aviv.}

6.) 22 Feb 2018 23:48:37
Hey ed002, I’ll put you up when you’re back from Israel. 👍.

7.) 23 Feb 2018 09:44:45
Great sports bar Mikes Place on the beach front, lots of tvs all showing different global sports. Watched some PL in there, decent American style food too. Puaa in Jaffa is great value and fantastic food, was a regular haunt and Hakovshim Bistro also great value and good food.

21 Feb 2018 14:49:23
The U19s are playing Man United in the UEFA Youth League (youth Champions League) on bt sport 2 in a few minutes if anyone is interested. Woodburn is starting and our attack looks very fine. Should be a cracker!

1.) 21 Feb 2018 15:49:59
Keep us updated if you can please.

2.) 21 Feb 2018 15:55:20
Reds 1-0 up at half time, Ben Woodburn header.

3.) 21 Feb 2018 16:49:21
2-0 89 mins.

4.) 21 Feb 2018 16:53:16
Finished up 2 - 0 to the young reds. Comancho with the 2nd. We were under pressure a lot in the 2nd half which was our own doing with a lot of stray passes.

5.) 21 Feb 2018 16:53:49
2-0 full time, cracker by Camacho, who came off the bench for the 2nd. Quarter final v Man City in store for the Reds, next month. I can post the goals on sightings page if it's ok with the Ed's.

6.) 21 Feb 2018 16:55:24
Just saw the size on sightings page Ed's, no worries.

7.) 21 Feb 2018 16:57:36
2-0 win, Camacho scored the second. We were the better team for most of that game and deserved the win. Woodburn played well and looks way too good for this level. Bobby Adekanye was quality as well.
I was actually a bit unsure about this game when I saw the lineup but we played very well.
Man City in the quarter final for the youngsters.

8.) 21 Feb 2018 16:57:36
2-0 to Liverpool U19s at FT. Ben Woodburn header and a great strike from Camacho. Our U19s face City U19s in the next round.

9.) 21 Feb 2018 18:32:10
Very low quality game. Maybe the pitch didn't help but still not a good watch. Its clear that Woodburn is well above that level and Curtis Jones is a real talent too. Adam Lewis had some good distribution of the ball but otherwise unimpressive. Adekanye a typical quick winger who doesn't enjoy passing. Good result and experience for them and for Gerrard a a coach too I guess.

10.) 21 Feb 2018 20:03:40
Butt must be feeling really sore right now.

14 Feb 2018 21:41:28
Permission to dream? Granted.

1.) 15 Feb 2018 02:42:02
Easy, just close your eyes and sleep, you will soon start to dream. If your talking about the champions league, well too many big teams still in it to get too over excited, we beat a poor porto side, nothing more.

2.) 15 Feb 2018 08:19:41
You are truly clueless if you think Porto are poor.

3.) 15 Feb 2018 08:49:58
I just noticed you said in an above post that we need to give them respect, so i apologise as this was most likely just a poor choice of words. I assume you meant a 'weakened' Porto side as they were missing the spine if their team in Felipe, Danilo and Aboubakar to be fair.

4.) 15 Feb 2018 10:58:44
Yes mk that's exactly what i meant, weakened and hence poor on the night. We do need to show them respect in the next leg.

Great assessment ed, thank you mate!
Does the club take players aside and give them this sort of feedback or do they generally let them learn for themselves?

{Ed001's Note - they usually get regular feedback, analysis after each game, to look over. I did have some sample ones from various teams to look at which I was meaning to upload as part of an article. Sadly when my laptop went on the fritz I lost loads of files including them or I would have put them up for you to look at.}

I want to play one of the 'big sides' in the semi final personally. Otherwise it would be 5 very hard games to win the competition and that's a big ask for Klopp and the players. Although, that being said, I would love us to send out a message to the rest of the teams by battering was of the 'top' teams.

Great article MK, I'm not usually one to praise but I enjoyed reading that!
With regards to Grujic, I don't think he's burnt his bridges at all and his performances with Cardiff are earning him another chance at the club. If Cardiff go up, which they surely will now, I'd hope that he goes back on loan there for another season unless Klopp thinks he's ready to play regularly for us. He needs regular gametime so hopefully he's managed correctly.

Such a shame for the youngsters. They played really well from 60 mins and probably deserved a win but these things happen. Woodburn wasn't at his best but I was really impressed by Curtis Jones and Bobby Adekanye yet again in attack. Camille Grabara looks a good keeper as well.
I haven't seen much of these lads this season except in this competition. Last year I regularly saw the u23s so it's good to see the development of some of the players out there.
