1.) 19 Jun 2018 23:12:44
Thank you Benny.

2.) 20 Jun 2018 00:19:14
Great occasion, great game, awesome kits and the cameramen were at worst, brilliant! Hope you double your ambitions. Well done to All of you!

3.) 20 Jun 2018 08:48:53
mk scouser isn't a scouser? bizarre username.

4.) 20 Jun 2018 08:58:44
im sure you are not a bamboo.

5.) 20 Jun 2018 10:47:37
Pretty sure it is a reference to being an adopted scouser for having supported Liverpool probably most his life. Not that it matters.

6.) 20 Jun 2018 11:13:21
Nailed It, Adam.

7.) 20 Jun 2018 13:18:46
Is it too late to sign up for the next game?

8.) 20 Jun 2018 23:50:05
Also MK for Milton Keynes after moving a few years back if I remember correctly.

9.) 20 Jun 2018 10:47:37

Ed001/ 002. Clear your diaries for June 15th 2019 if you can? We will see if we can hold on to OUR cup.

Ps, highlights will be on YouTube tonight.

benny baller

{Ed001's Note - it was a fluke you got it!}

1.) 18 Jun 2018 16:38:38
Guys appologies for the drop out things still not sorted but life goes on.

Any chance of securing a stadium for the day and perhaps a tournament on there?

2.) 18 Jun 2018 17:12:22
Hi can we have highlights of the event?

3.) 18 Jun 2018 17:55:14
Stg Ken’s speech and captains hairdryer on Mahfuz were the absolute highlights of the day mate, closely followed by his swan lake dive on the edge of the box. He is the nicest Man Utd fan in the world mate, unless of course he has made good on his promise to burn the official Liverpool Mo Salah Egyptian King crown 👑 we gave him, in which case he’s a stereotypical manc after all 😵.

4.) 18 Jun 2018 20:26:01
what is the match called on YouTube? Ps well done around lads.

{Ed033's Note - Benny Baller hasn't uploaded it yet

8 months of prep comes down to this 😋
Firstly, I would like to thank the editors for their support and help in getting this set up.
Secondly, their are 3 spots left, so if you'd like to play the game, based in north Oxfordshire on the 16th, give me a text : call on 07719565417 for more details.
The opportunity to be in a 50/ 50 with MK Scouser is too good a chance to miss surely?
If you can't attend but want to watch the match, we have you covered, the game will be streamed live on the football-rumours Facebook page, so get following today guys.
Fingers crossed Ed002 is in the country and can attend 🤞🏼.

benny baller

{Ed002's Note - The kit is being shipped to you today Benny - I will be away from the UK at that poing but I can get back in I will.}

1.) 01 Jun 2018 10:58:05
Brilliant stuff, sorry I can't be there but will be watching. Have fun guys 😎.

2.) 01 Jun 2018 11:00:39
Best of luck with it all Benny and everyone involved, I would offer to play but my feet are like 20p's (my first touch really could go anywhere) to the point where my own team would be trying to leave one on me out of frustration! Plus i would be out of breath just putting the kit on.

3.) 01 Jun 2018 11:05:27
Brilliant. I’m slightly worried we are going to have 11 shirts with your face spread across the front.
I know it’s a slim chance of you being there, but if you did, as a thanks to everyone making the effort to play and travel, do you think we could have a live Q&A where each player gets to ask you one question after the game😇 obviously there will be ground rules, I. e no talk of work, no camera phones and obviously no #wonderdogsparkyout banners.
I’d assume with your schedule you’d have to shoot off after, but you don’t get if you don’t ask.

{Ed002's Note - As long as they are kept in cages. I will try.}

4.) 01 Jun 2018 11:27:43
Best of luck lads would love to be around for it.

What's the rumours Facebook page? Can never find it, although to be honest prefer looking at the site anyways but would like to see some of this match.

5.) 01 Jun 2018 15:47:14
This is so great. Really want to come but not certain on travel arrangements and getting there etc. Would love to play if I could.
With the Facebook page, does anyone have the link or exact wording for the page. When I search it, I get Liverpool FC latest/ transfer news but I am not sure if that is it and the other pages are out of date?

6.) 01 Jun 2018 15:52:43
I wish I could come and support you guys but my circumstances will not permit this time.
If I have a few quid spare I will try to donate a small sum.
I really hope I will be able to participate next year.
Me and Harry in the same team please.

7.) 01 Jun 2018 16:01:12

8.) 01 Jun 2018 17:01:38
Just realised I'm only an hour or so away but I will be in lanzerote when the games on, would have been a good craic. Hope you have a great day.

9.) 01 Jun 2018 18:11:32

Ed002: read the F. posts 😄.

10.) 01 Jun 2018 18:32:31
The link Benny showed for the Facebook link appears to be incorrect. I tried it as want to watch the game next week but says no link found.

11.) 01 Jun 2018 19:13:29
Thanks for the link. Worked fine search that in the search bar Walter and it’s the first. Benny baller right there so you know it’s theres.

With the match. I might try and make it but it will be super late notice. Don’t hold anything for me but I may be a late introduction :)

12.) 01 Jun 2018 19:54:19
Imagine that Ron 😂.

13.) 02 Jun 2018 08:16:32
The link is working now.

22 May 2018 13:06:36

There are a few spots left for the Site Posters charity match next month.

As I want full squads and we are getting close to the date, the match fee will be whatever you are happy to donate to SEVA foundation and Macmillan Nurses.

Details are as follows:
16th June, 3pm KO
Wroxton Sports Club
Horley Road, Wroxton, Oxon OX15 6PY
There are cheap local hotels, and as some of the lads have already mentioned, plenty of beer joints!

I am in the process of adding all current participants to a whatsapp group. So I will put my back up phone number here, god forbid I put my usual number :)
Whatsapp / text me asap, if you can attend and play.

The game will streamed live on the football rumours facebook page.

If any one reading this wants to donate to the above charities, there is a football rumours just giving donate page.

benny baller

{Ed002's Note - Benny, let me know what is needed from me.}

1.) 22 May 2018 14:55:23
This is brilliant and a great cause, really gutted I can't make it (my brother is home from foreign lands for first time in almost 3 years) .

To put faces to names on here would have been great (even those I don't agree with on much lol) - lads, I really hope you all have a great day at this!

2.) 22 May 2018 15:38:21
I wanted to donate but I m too scared of privacy and details o my card etc I m no from UK is their any safe method of donations.

3.) 22 May 2018 15:41:03
This is such a great idea. I hope there will be some photos or videos of the match!

4.) 22 May 2018 16:02:51
Adam it will be live streamed on the football rumours Facebook mate.

5.) 22 May 2018 15:36:39
Why don’t you an your brother play Irish :)
Ed if you’re still happy to supply your teams kit, that would be class. If not i have an old blue kit from when I ran my clubs. Entirely up to you, you have my email x.

{Ed002's Note - I am happy to buy a kit for the team, let me know where you want me to ship it to. Also, I assume large or extra large. Let me know. What colour are the other side wearing? Thanks Benny. If I am in England I will try and come along.}

6.) 22 May 2018 18:03:37
Okay Ed002 thanks a lot. I have emailed your PA my address. The other team are in red, so a blue kit would be nice. As for sizes I’d say 10 large 4 XL should cover all our beautiful figures. I’m hoping this becomes a yearly cup so will use the same kits each year. Some of the boys may get stage fright if you attend, hopefully you don’t give us the hairdryer treatment at half time 🙈.

{Ed002's Note - Leave it with me Benny. Obviously if they are Liverpool fans playing they will need the extra long knuckle-dragger sleeves - I will get the ones with the hump on the back. I will speak to Coral in a few days when I get back to England and she will get it in hand right away. I will also get something that does not clash with the red. So may plan for electric cerise is probably down the pan. Really appreciate your efforts and will see if I can maybe fly back for this.}

7.) 22 May 2018 19:57:36

I’m available to play 😃
I live in Oxfordshire.

8.) 22 May 2018 20:25:14
Why don’t Liverpool rumours buy 2 kits. Get go fund page and make it an annual thing. Each year get all players/ contributors to sign their name and something they can all look back on in how ever many years.

I know some spots left but if you are going do it Benny do it properly and leave a legacy pal.

9.) 22 May 2018 19:50:14
Hump back, knuckle draggers, love it. Good to know your acerbic wit has not deserted you. Never reign it in or tone it down ED2. If you wind up a few bigots on the way, all the better.

10.) 22 May 2018 20:46:46
Hey Taffy. I do take a little offence to the doing it properly comment 😂

1. It is going to be an annual thing. We have two new kits, kindly bought by Ed002 and Ken.
2. Up till a month a go I had Dermot Gallagher refereeing ( he’s now on Hol, but I’ve emailed another efl referee )
3. We have named it the Matt Hawker cup, a legacy to Ed001s best mate who died from leukaemia.
4. We have a lovely little venue
5. It’s being live streamed on Facebook
6. We should have raised a thousand pounds for the charities
7. We will all be wearing black arm bands in honour of grumpy from the Everton page.
And finally we have people flying in from abroad to play in this game, with the possibility of meeting THE ed 002.
I don’t know to do it any more properly lol.

Liver1980 that’s brilliant. Please can you text me on the number above when you’ve read this.

11.) 22 May 2018 21:58:05
Benny your efforts are appropriated. Stellar job mate and for a fantastic cause.

12.) 22 May 2018 21:38:26
Could somebody post a link to the Facebook page please? I’ve search football transfer rumours, and as expected, hundreds of search results appeared.

13.) 22 May 2018 22:42:53
Hi Benny, I can play if needed, let me know what I need to do! Cheers.

14.) 22 May 2018 22:44:26
What a guy you are Benny and what a gesture from Ed2, your a legend mate. I wish I could attend such an event but life is far too busy these days, hope everybody involved has a great time.

15.) 22 May 2018 22:49:45
Wit: if you look at the banter page, an identical post is there where you can click the links. It may be on page 2 but I think it’s still main page.
John: text me mate.
Salah + navy. Thanks :) let’s hope it all goes smoothly!

16.) 22 May 2018 22:51:43
Should have used the search engine haha, emailed you benny and texted, cheers.

17.) 23 May 2018 10:10:23
Benny, get me a medium kit if you can 😂 I'm 5ft8. A large will drown me 👀.

18.) 23 May 2018 08:51:01
Long time watcher of the site but only an occasional poster. Really applaud what you are doing and would gladly make a donation. My football days are long gone but I always like a good cause that has some effort behind it.
Is there a Just Giving page link or something similar?

{Ed033's Note - Yes, football rumours just giving

19.) 23 May 2018 14:55:13
I only live 3 miles from Wroxton. May well come down and give you guys some support but I've not played in years so I'll leave that to the rest of you. Good job in sorting all this by the way, Benny.

20.) 23 May 2018 19:06:20

Would love to get involved with this.
Don’t live too far away so if you are still looking for anyone to get involved then let me know!

{Ed025's Note - just text benny on the number above morro..

21.) 23 May 2018 21:07:50
Awesome cheers Ed’s. Messaged you Benny!

22.) 24 May 2018 07:51:14
Gutted to be missing this, flying in from Asia just a bridge too far. Hopefully one of these days it coincides with a business/ holiday trip back home.

One request, can you record the game somewhere so we can watch back? Oh, and at the start can we do a team lineup with each persons site names so we can put a face to Ed’s, Benny, MK, Waro etc. would be fascinating I’m sure.

Finally, make sure if Ed02 turns up, can we arrange for a throne to watch the match and make sure he/ she is suitably dressed in androgynous clothing and wearing a stig helmet. We don’t want to destroy the mystique.

23.) 25 May 2018 16:24:03
Benny I see there's 11 days to go and 30% of the target has been reached, please remind me a couple of days before the date and I'll try to make up whatever else is needed to reach the target.

24.) 25 May 2018 16:24:03
Benny I see there's 11 days to go and 30% of the target has been reached, please remind me a couple of days before the date and I'll try to make up whatever else is needed to reach the target.

30 Apr 2018 10:30:51
Gerrard to become Klopp assistant.

benny baller

1.) 30 Apr 2018 11:04:27
It wouldn't surprise me in the least, I think he'd much prefer to be assistant to Klopp then going and managing Rangers or one would've thought so anyway? A lot going on at the moment.

2.) 30 Apr 2018 11:20:16
It would utterly baffle me if SG were to be made assistant given that Buvac has not left as an employee at the club.

3.) 30 Apr 2018 12:30:49
He hasn't done anything to warrant such a job, not even close.

4.) 30 Apr 2018 12:32:12
Hey Benny, I said this first 😡.

5.) 30 Apr 2018 12:42:56
Anyone for bringing pako back!

6.) 30 Apr 2018 12:46:24
Is Liverpool FC some sort of pantomime it always happens too us crazy drama before big games, coutihno before champs league qualifiers and premium start, now buvac before massive week, and pako wid Rafa, come on lads sort it out will ya's.

7.) 30 Apr 2018 13:38:05
From, by his own admission, gradually learning his trade with the Liverpool youngsters, to second-in-command at LFC / Rangers manager?
Neither, for me.
He should just carry on where he is, perhaps with the occasional input to the first team, and learn from Klopp and the staff at the club.

I can't believe that Rangers would ask him, they're too big for that.
Or that Gerrard would accept, it's a mammoth job, with trouble written all over it.

8.) 30 Apr 2018 14:03:25
Club legend SG maybe but tactician?

9.) 30 Apr 2018 15:19:26
Why do people keep over exaggerating the position rangers are in as a club? They are nowhere near title challengers, just look at how many points they are behind yet again. It’s going to take a number of years for them to close that gap, through good player recruitment and development of a squad which can compete with Celtic’s far superior squad. Surely rangers fans are not all so caught up in their past glory’s not to miss these facts? Yes Gerrard has no 1st team experience, but why not go manage in a league where there is almost no competition, where he can only really make things better for the club? Rodgers has revived his reputation up there (now linked with the Arsenal job) .

10.) 30 Apr 2018 17:17:09
There’s no chance he’s getting the assistant job and rightly so. Why do people think cos he played for us for years he should become assistant boss? . completely baffling what experience does he have for the role absolutely none at all.

Let’s stop the silly ideas he’s going to be liverpool manager one day, never going to happen.

06 Mar 2019 13:57:43
Not Liverpool related but I'd like a post to discuss the new football laws coming in next year.

1. Accidental handball goal won't stand
Now to me, I kind of thought that should of been common sense anyway. I guess the one thing it does rule out is "interpretation of deliberate"
Any time the ball goes in the net off a hand it's auto ruled out, which VAR will help with. I like this, however, my query. What if it is an own goal of a hand? Something I can't confirm until I receive my new ifab laws book. So wait to be seen on that.

2. Substituted players can leave the field anywhere
Big thumbs up from me, nothing more frustrating than players going to the other side of the pitch before being subbed and doing the long slow walk across. Big thumbs up on this one.

3. No attacking players in the wall
You'll be surprised a lot of people have said why can't the CF join the wall if he's really tall 😂🤦🏼‍♂️ To clarify, if it is your teams free kick, you cannot stand in the wall. I like it, why should you be allowed to impede the defending team/ player? So another thumbs up.

4. Coaches will receive cards
To me, a bit pointless in terms of effectiveness. I mean if a manager is being a tit, id talk to them an give them a warning, and explain that if I have to come back over they will be removed. I guess now I just show a yellow so everyone knows they've been warned? I guess it shows the players and fans they're on a warning, however in terms of referee game management, pretty pointless.

The rumoured rule about no follow up on penalties, was nonsense. Not sure why sky and others reported it? Lazy journalism I guess.

So, personally I think they're all well thought out in each way. Still loads more to be done, but that's for another thread lol.

What's your guys thoughts? Ed's?

benny baller

1.) 06 Mar 2019 14:41:01
I just can't see point 2 working.
If an away player leaves the field on the far touchline and walks back to the dugout there's a huge possibility some or all in the stands will be incited. Just imagine the abuse a Liverpol player would receive walking around the pitch at OT. Likewise any derby.

2.) 06 Mar 2019 14:48:55
Am with you on them Benny however with bringing in the VAR at the same time am sure the refs will get confused there not the sharpest knife in the draw. Apart from you of corse 😉😉.

3.) 06 Mar 2019 15:09:56
Digger you have hit me for 6 with that response. Never even thought about that. Well played! I guess the only counter I could bring is that if players don’t want to be abused walking around the pitch, they won’t go for the old time wasting trick? If they want to do the winding up, eg Walcott, then they risk the danger of cautions. But you bring up a great point that potentially could cause problems this season.

4.) 06 Mar 2019 16:52:58
Nice one Digger 👏

1) It has to be a player from the attacking side otherwise it’s a ridiculous rule.
3) absolute nonsense rule with no benefit to the game whatsoever. What constitutes a ‘wall’? Can you have 1 player in a wall? So an attacker can’t stand next to them. How close can an attacker be before he’s deemed “in the wall”? Can you have more than 1 wall? How is it enforced?

4) agree utterly meaningless except if a coach gets a ban for 5 yellow cards like the players - otherwise pure theatre.

5.) 06 Mar 2019 17:09:42
I agree with Ron. I don't understand #3 at all; makes no sense.

6.) 06 Mar 2019 17:25:02
Not sure about the wall one, as Ron said what distance will the attacker have to stand from the wall, can he stand in front of the wall to obscure their view etc?

7.) 06 Mar 2019 17:33:48
2 works on he basis if players are punished for inciting the fans and also on the premise that football fans are decent human beings and don’t do anything stupid (which sadly we have seen too much of recently.

I like the rule personally. It saves time on substitutions particularly when they are just playing down the clock.

The only other alternative to that is to effectively stop the clock during substitutions.

8.) 06 Mar 2019 18:32:13
The worst rule in football is when a player gets a Yellow for celebrating a goal taking his shirt off or jumping in the crowd. Abysmal.

9.) 07 Mar 2019 01:29:56
And if a goalkeeper saves a penalty the game will be stopped there.

10.) 07 Mar 2019 23:51:09
Sorry Ron and Stone but I disagree. I like 3. It will stop all the nonsense of opposing players blocking and pushing players in the wall out of the way to create a gap for the kicker to score through (which is a foul by the way! )

01 Mar 2019 09:16:01
From next year, dissent sin bins will be in place from step 5 and below. Including the FA vase.

Some leagues have trialled this, and now ALL leagues at grass roots will have it implemented as law. IFAB have allowed the sin bin for any offence, foul tackles etc, and some countries have taken up that option, however the FA decided, rightly, that's too much to soon, and it will only be available on dissent, by word or action.
In a 90 minute game the sin bin will be 10 minutes, this is 10 minutes of football, not shoe lace tying or rolling around injured time.

The 10 minutes can carry across half time, and into extra time, however doesn't exclude the player from kicks from the penalty spot.

How the system applies to one player. I will use D for dissent and F for any other foul.

1D = sin bin and return
1D 1D = after the second sin bin, the player must be subbed, his game is done.
1D 1F = just the sin bin and return.
1D 1F 1D = Probably never happen, but this is the case. If you are sin binned twice, with a normal yellow in the mix, your game is done AND you CANNOT replaced. Leaving your team with 10 men.

My opinion; I wish I had this when I came through grass roots. Would of been ideal, all the stats from the trial leagues show huge reduction in dissent ( c2 ) so it works. Players will get on top of their own playersto be quiet, rather than the referee, it's a huge turning point in the game.

What's the Ed's and posters views? Any questions?

benny baller

{Ed025's Note - i like it in principal benny but feel it will be very difficult to implement, change is not easy and i imagine there will be a lot of confusion early on, thanks for the info mate..

1.) 01 Mar 2019 09:33:21
I think football has been crying out for this for a long time. I also believe, if used correctly, it can get rid of players surrounding the referee having a whinge that a decision didn't go their way. Get in their face, off you go, wouldn't take long before it stopped all together, same with diving.

2.) 01 Mar 2019 10:05:53
I do have a question Benny.

I like this in principle.

But especially at younger levels I found the main sources of abuse and language are the parents/ adults.

First does the ref have any standing at the moment to remove a non participating adult from the sidelines?

If not is anything being looked at in this regard? I would say punishing the adult throwing abuse would be difficult and I'm not sure how to fairly say something like "you abuse the ref while supporting team x then team x get penalized in some way" is it possible to implement something like this. Thoughts?

3.) 01 Mar 2019 10:33:35
Would have been great 15 years ago. We could've played the 3 utd players left on the pitch!

4.) 01 Mar 2019 10:45:55
The first thing I’d suggest Shanek, is to never send of a parent directly, it normally just turns into an argument. All youth teams have qualified welfare officers, normally the manager. If there’s a knob in the crowd, referees should stop the game and talk to the benches, and put it in their hands to resolve the matter.
If this fails, we definitely do have the tools to remove them, but that comes down to the witt of the referee. Our trump card, is the threat of stopping the match, if you use that card wisely, youll soon see all the players and parents who have given up their morning, turn on the abuser.

A great initiative to protect younger referees is coming in next season. All referees under the age of 18 will be wearing the purple shirt option. This is to remind aggressive managers and supporters, that who they’re abusing is just a kid themselves. Unfortunately they don’t come in men’s sizes : ( lol.

5.) 01 Mar 2019 12:00:05
Nice one Benny appreciate the response, hopefully over all things will change and progress as it seems to just go hand in hand with the game at times.

6.) 01 Mar 2019 12:37:07
Benny, do you see it making it to the Premier league mate? If so how long do you think?

7.) 01 Mar 2019 12:41:51
Also, does it mean var will be involved to show that dissent was made. Change to our beautiful game can be scarey, especially for old sea dogs like myself but I go for progression over conservatism every time.

Benny, do you see it making it to the top leagues anytime soon?

8.) 01 Mar 2019 15:51:48
No mate. VAR will not be used for dissent. I’m just taking it one game at a time mate. Next season is huge for me.

9.) 01 Mar 2019 20:27:15
I’ve been saying we need a sin bin for simulation and dissent for about 10 years 😄.

Question for ed002. Does Man City going with puma over their Nike shirt sponsor, open up a potential gap for Nike to approach Liverpool?

benny baller

{Ed002's Note - Nike are talking with another side and Liverpool have held some discussions with New Balance but may well want to see if others are interested.}

1.) 28 Feb 2019 16:38:00
Thanks ed. would be nice to see us in a nike kit. I read the potential new balance- new contract- could end up record breaking? That was before this new puma deal with city however.

{Ed002's Note - It will be significant.}

Nike kits are dreadful. They take the same 2 or 3 templates and just recycle them with minor changes.

3.) 28 Feb 2019 17:52:29
Spot on, Smeg. Nike kits are awful.

4.) 28 Feb 2019 18:44:56
I quite like the idea of a nike kit. As long as we don't have one like the Chelsea and Spurs third kit we'll be alright lol.

{Ed002's Note - You would prefer the Galatasaray or Barcelona 3rd kit then?}

5.) 28 Feb 2019 18:46:25
Nike kits are dreadful, but money isn’t. So there is that.

6.) 28 Feb 2019 20:26:06
My sons new balance kits have peeled off on the labels which is a shame as i'd like to keep them for sentiment. Nike or adidas please.

7.) 28 Feb 2019 20:47:07
Would love to see us back in an Adidas kit, to be fair more than happy with NB. Not a massive fan of the Nike kits.

8.) 28 Feb 2019 22:40:58
I am really up for Adidas, loved the the one that Alonso wore, my fave Liverpool shirt, I think that it would bring us good luck .

9.) 01 Mar 2019 03:18:00
Anything but Nike. Would rather we just use body paint than get into a deal with them. Their kits are utterly atrocious. They're all the same and even when they're 'different' it's the same. Would much rather stick with new balance. I can't think of a single kit Nike has made that I thought was even ok. and I'd be happy to hear some examples to prove me wrong.

Maybe he just wants no distractions for the run in. Wouldn’t worry.

Glad we are looking at Ramsey tbh. Good player, adds strength In depth. Of course he would want first team action regularly, which will probably put an end to a deal being possible.
Hopefully he sees how our midfield 3 keep rotating this year and he bites.
Milner and Lallana can’t go on forever, unfortunately!

Ah okay bud, fair enough.

{Ed001's Note - otherwise I would agree with what you are saying. And there were signs that a partnership was developing at the weekend. It is just my heart can't cope with Matip at the back.}

But trisy. Pre vvd, you hated how klopp/ Rodgers kept swapping cbs about and always said that for any sort of partnership between cbs they had to play together. So whilst I agree, matip is not great, he and vvd have built something the last few weeks, and Lovren is not that much better to alleviate that work. Obviously if it’s gomez, he comes straight back in, on talent and his partnership with vvd.

benny baller

{Ed001's Note - I just disagree completely that Lovren is not a hell of a lot better than Matip.}

That wasn’t the question bro :p.

{Ed001's Note - Matip is awful, I really do not feel comfortable when he is playing.}
