hi Guys just to clear something up, Joe has been dealing with something in private that I won't disclose since the start of the season, well actually before that goes some way as the reason why he's not been in the team but he's fine! , doesn't reflect how he's been training or whatever, Matip would be playing now regardless of how good he's been (I know he's injured but you get my point) The sterling thing has not made anything easier but these things happen. Cheers.

1.) 15 Nov 2019 15:16:02
Thanks for the update.

2.) 15 Nov 2019 15:42:04
He is class and will be world class without a doubt. We love him, screw the dumb fans that boo’d him.

3.) 15 Nov 2019 16:37:34
YNWA is our Motto and will never change ST.
We are with jo though think and thin. Please send him our support😘.

4.) 15 Nov 2019 16:52:12
Thanks for the update ST, Gomez is a quality player and we are all behind him.

I hope things sort themselves out and he is back in the team asap.

5.) 15 Nov 2019 16:54:04
Pass on our best to Joe if you talk to him. Absolute class player and attitude. And hope he overcomes whatever the issue is. Y. N. W. A.

6.) 15 Nov 2019 16:57:33
Joe will always be admired and respected whilst he gives his best at LFC.

Some England supporters are just plain idiotic.

I can understand Joe wanting to play for his country and I wouldn’t want to stop that but for me seeing Joe alongside Virgil is what really counts.

7.) 15 Nov 2019 17:36:26
I hope Joe is okay! He's a top player and showed more maturity over the past few days than some players do in their entire careers. Pass on all our energy to him! :)

8.) 15 Nov 2019 18:58:13
Tell Joe that we ALL love him ST.

9.) 15 Nov 2019 19:46:21
Send our love ST! Lotta respect for big Joe!

10.) 16 Nov 2019 00:16:12
Hi Square Tomato, Send Big Joe all our love from the Redmen Down Under - no one here questions his ability and we look forward to him being back when he is ready! YNWA!

11.) 16 Nov 2019 06:53:05
ST, look at all the responses. Shows he has the support of most fans. let's hope in time stuff sorts itself out.

Thanks st.

12.) 16 Nov 2019 12:30:02
Hey ST I would like to echo everyone else’s assessment of Gomez, fantastic player and sorry he’s going through whatever he is going through atm. Hopefully he’s okay and back to the starting 11 as soon as! Really disappointed at the **** who boo’d him, just a minority that should spur him on to be even better!

13.) 16 Nov 2019 13:57:06
Tell Joe it doesn’t matter if non lfc fans boo him, tell him it doesn’t matter if people think he’s a “big man” or not.
All that matters is that he keeps his head, keeps improving, and wins the f@&£ing league this season!

Seriously if the lad keeps grounded he genuinely has the world at his feet.
Life can be sh! te from time to time, and I hope the issues that have caused him problems dissipate (as they all do over time) .

He is on the right track, I just hope he has the determination, patience and good people around him to realise this.

14.) 17 Nov 2019 13:22:14
Big up to big Joe, currently the best CB England has. Cheers for update ST.

15.) 17 Nov 2019 17:54:09
Much appreciated ST, best regards and wishes to him and his family.

16.) 18 Nov 2019 16:55:28
Hope he recovers and draw strength from the club and the fans. Joe'll never walk alone.
Thanks for this update Square.

26 Jun 2018 12:43:09
Ings leaving shouldn't be a surprise I said this months ago, Newcastle still interested as are Bournemouth.

Square tomato

1.) 26 Jun 2018 13:02:17
Even if you hadn't it shouldn't be much of a surprise. Good luck to him.

2.) 26 Jun 2018 13:09:05
I'm sure no one appreciates what it's means to be on the pitch playing more than him after his injuries. Wish him all the best and his attitude will infect other's I'm sure.

3.) 26 Jun 2018 13:36:26
Been so unlicky.

4.) 26 Jun 2018 14:23:06
Pleasure as always ST! Hope Gomez is feeling all good and positive about the new season!

5.) 26 Jun 2018 14:54:26
just passing on what I was told before, Hjikle.

6.) 26 Jun 2018 16:44:14
Personally I think Ings can only get better, if he signs for Newcastle.

Im always singing, ings can only get better.

7.) 26 Jun 2018 16:47:20
I agree Willo and he does love a good Lick as well.

8.) 26 Jun 2018 17:25:28
Square Tomato hope your doing well mate just wanna know if you have heard any incomings as well?

9.) 26 Jun 2018 22:38:53
Thought might go rangers.

10.) 27 Jun 2018 09:51:23
Sorry ST wasn't having a pop, just pointing out that it should have been obvious to everyone.

19 Feb 2018 07:51:37
Probably not news, but I think Ings is off in the summer.

Square tomato

1.) 19 Feb 2018 08:29:46
All the best to him. So very unlucky, hopefully he'll find a home somewhere and be back to his best.

2.) 19 Feb 2018 09:20:19
The poor bugger, I really feel for Ings, he's had nothing but bad luck since joining. If this is true then I wish him all the best, I hope it's not though, I still think he has something to offer.

3.) 19 Feb 2018 10:47:39
Not surprised. He needs to go for his own career. We don’t play with any out and out striker or poacher. So like Sturridge, Ings and Solanke has any future at the club! I love the lad myself and his attitude has been fantastic but unfortunately the team is moving to another direction. Best wishes for him!

4.) 19 Feb 2018 10:49:29
Seems likely, at his age he's never unlikely develop into a first team player for us now and should still be wanting to play every game. If he does, good luck to him.

5.) 19 Feb 2018 12:46:41
Lets hope he can at least pick up a CL medal.

6.) 19 Feb 2018 13:24:02
That's interesting but it suggests we'll be bidding for a back up striker in the summer. I wonder who's on the short list.

7.) 19 Feb 2018 13:41:09
Amzoun from Rubin Kazan maybe, Luan is another one maybe.

8.) 19 Feb 2018 14:19:53
I hope we don't buy a striker. We don’t play with one! Why buy a back up? Couple of wide forwards who could play anywhere across the front three!

9.) 19 Feb 2018 15:13:29
Square Tomato, great to hear from you.
I just saw an interview with Klopp discussing ings and although the media outlet interpreted that Klopp implied he is in his long term plans, I couldn't help but feel the opposite. Be a shame as I think he's a good back up, notably his attitude which is vital in a back up role. But at the same time I'd love for him to be able to crack on in his career!

10.) 19 Feb 2018 16:35:05
Send him back to Burnley and call off the tribunal 😄.

11.) 19 Feb 2018 18:41:15
Newcastle if they stay up.

12.) 19 Feb 2018 19:26:09
Evening Square Tomato hope your ok mate
just wanted to know (as you seem to have your ear to the ground squad wise) who in your opinion would you say Klopp sees as number 1 left back out of our current two Moreno and Robertson
cheers in advance mate.

13.) 19 Feb 2018 20:05:02
Hard to answer Johncrow sorry, don’t wanna just make stuff up all I know is klopp really admires Morenos tenacity to not give up on making LB is own, he had plenty of chances to leave last summer which would have been the easy option.

14.) 19 Feb 2018 22:16:02
Can I ask why you think he’s off?

15.) 20 Feb 2018 00:58:44
Shame. Seems to have a great mentality. Hope his injuries won't hamper his progress.

16.) 21 Feb 2018 11:09:30
Klopp always play with a striker. It just happens that it's Firmino.

20 Apr 2017 19:34:15
Evening all, I doubt Joe Gomez will play again this season ( he'll probably start against palace now and make me look stupid) apart from maybe a cameo now and then, Klopp wants him to have a proper pre season, he's a big part of the plans going forward he'll be pushing lovren and be ahead of Klavan from what I can gather, sturridge looking likely to leave which seems to be common knowledge right now not that he particularly wants too, also Klopp really wants TAA to be a regular 1st team player next season not sure what that means for Clyne but I just know Klopp wants Trent in the team, it could mean nothing as we know he's very versatile.

Square tomato

1.) 20 Apr 2017 20:10:20
Always good to hear your in ST.

2.) 20 Apr 2017 22:17:35
Thanks for the info.

3.) 20 Apr 2017 23:35:51
Boss thanks la.

4.) 21 Apr 2017 02:37:17
I think TAA would make a good RM/ RW. best crosser of the ball I've seen in a Liverpool shirt for a long time. Once players like origi get used to where he is going to put the ball it could be a deadly move. Or maybe klopp is thinking 532 which in my opinion would suit TAA more than clyne.

5.) 21 Apr 2017 04:33:44
TAA is so important to the future of the club but also the future of Klopp. By bringing players like TAA through the ranks it allows Klopp to really build HIS team in his mould and allow him also to say "look at the players I've brought through". There is big focus on this at all clubs but when top clubs can do it, its huge.

6.) 21 Apr 2017 08:26:47
Cheers for the info squareT send Joe our best as always and again thank you for the info much appreciated and great to hear about Joe and Trent.

7.) 21 Apr 2017 11:26:34
Does anyone else see us playing 3 at the back next season

Matip lovren Gomez or hopefully VVD that would be a dre

TAA would be perfect for the Rwb position- Klopp ready said he needs to work on the defending side so playing 3 at the back would allow him to push forward.

Milner and hopefully the Fulham kid also are better attacking.

Hendo Gini can can fight it out for the cm postion

Coutinho postion would not change because he likes to play inside.

Mane can play the other side

Lallana can play any of them 2 postion

Firmino and Origi can also fight it out.

8.) 21 Apr 2017 11:57:32
I think Klopp will continue to play the 4-3-3 but I've noticed that against sides that set a low block and aim to hit on the break, our deep midfielder is increasingly sitting almost between the CBs to create a defacto 3-4-3 and provide a bit more protection against the counterattack.

In more balanced games where possession is 50/ 50 and play frequently switches between attack and defense, he seems to use the high press more and keeps the 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1 shape to cut down the space.

9.) 21 Apr 2017 15:02:59
Cheers Square Tomato, Surely Gomez will play against Palace seens as all other defenders are injured mate?

10.) 21 Apr 2017 15:20:07
Big game for the lad.
Klopp has said he's been the complete package in training for the last few weeks.
He may know some of Benteke's tricks from earlier training sessions.

I hope Migs and Lovren help and not hinder the lad.

11.) 21 Apr 2017 15:21:34
i would think sturridge wants to play, and he has every right to leave to seek for first team opportunities if he's not getting it here.

ive seen players come ago, and i feel like he genuinely loves the club.

12.) 23 Apr 2017 12:52:10
The thing is that the lad is never fit for long enough to warrant first team opportunities
It must be hard for any manager to plan a team around Sturridge.
The lad has ability by the bucket load but needs a less intense league.

Pretty sure Matip is getting a new deal, good news I think.

Square tomato

1.) 17 Aug 2019 09:52:24
OP, he has to. He really stepped up his game late last season with monster performances. I did not think he had it in him cos he was pure rubbish before that IMO but credit to him for picking himself up and getting it done.

2.) 17 Aug 2019 09:53:43
Rumour mill today saying Shaq could leave this month before window closes. Would be a dent to our squad depth If it happened but cannot blame the lad as I cannot remember the last time he had any run of minutes for us.

3.) 17 Aug 2019 10:00:38
Well deserved and a far better player than he is given credit for. Took an undeserved amount of criticism on this site, some were blaming him for goals conceded, when it clearly was not his fault. He proved a few so called fans wrong.

4.) 17 Aug 2019 10:00:41
Apologies for going off the subject in my last post. Redwolf agree mate I thought he was brilliant last season and so was Gomez. Both will learn so much playing with VVD and in front of Allison.

5.) 17 Aug 2019 10:35:42
He was good for parts of last season, I'm not singling anybody out but some have short memories. Yes, he stepped up when needed and impressed more than I thought he ever would so I'm not slamming him and I do believe he deserves a new contract (thanks for the info ST) all I'm saying is, he wasn't great all season. He scared me half to death every single time he was on the pitch, I'm not as bad now but I'd still prefer Gomez any day.

6.) 17 Aug 2019 10:58:33
Absolutely deserves a new contract. I’ve also liked Matip but cannot lie that when he goes on one of his runs and loses the ball or passes the ball to the opposition repeatedly like on Wednesday I do question his thinking.

The other night he majestically ran through Chelsea team and got to the edge of the area. I was shouting for him to shoot but he never does even when in a good scoring position. I’d rather he shot and missed than pass and give ball away and be out of position.

Actually I’m sounding negative about the guy. I’m just drawing out he can step up a notch still but I’m very happy for him to be in the first 11 or sub bench.

7.) 17 Aug 2019 11:08:11
JK23, Matip made several mistakes last season so let's not play the short memory card here, with all due respect. What he did do was cut those errors out and just play his game and in fact, he would later become more physical, aggressive and developed a lot more bite in his challenges and interventions. This was when the penny dropped for him, IMO cos I always saw him as a stroller, not a true CB who gets stuck in or make his presence felt. Now, he is much better and long may it continue.

8.) 17 Aug 2019 11:28:55
Redwolf loads of our players made mistakes last season so there's no short memory from me. They are all humans they make mistakes. Matip played in 22 league games and 8 CL games and we are champions of Europe and had our highest every league tally. He massively played his part in that. When I say he was brilliant that is not me saying he is a brilliant player because he’s not but for me he was brilliant in what he did and again it’s not me saying he was brilliant for every single minute of every single game. Gomez was also brilliant for us until his injury. Certain players in our team cannot have a bad word said about them and posters come out with their pitch forks if someone dosay anything. It’s just a shame those same posters don’t offer the same protection to the players they then criticise themselves.

9.) 17 Aug 2019 11:34:34
Matip is improving in every game. Deserves a new deal.

10.) 17 Aug 2019 11:38:00
Thanks ST, send our love to joe!

11.) 17 Aug 2019 11:59:41
He was very good JK23, and improved as the season went on. As you say, an integral part of the CL winning team and PL team coming 2nd with a great defence.

Credit where credit is due. He got stick when he wasnt so hot, so he is due a bit of praise.

12.) 17 Aug 2019 12:41:36
good for him!

13.) 17 Aug 2019 14:00:42
Jk23 well said, I also do not have a short memory. Matip is not a great defender and it is difficult to find even a good defender these days. We all know he made mistakes but so did other players.

I stand by what I said because he received dogs abuse off some posters, he was the scapegoat even when he was not at fault.

05 Jun 2019 16:11:54
Just a quick shout out to Sturridge, what a player so many good memories, also what a fantastic human being, I lovely man who was inspiring to the young players, he helped pretty much all the kids in and around the first team, I know first hand he was instrumental in helping joe settle in, he'll be missed massively by all the players, and I wish him all the best for future YNWA studge.

Square tomato

1.) 05 Jun 2019 17:17:01
Good post ST, he was a class act on the pitch on his day and sounds like he was the same off the pitch too. Injuries did for him as we know, massive shame really.

2.) 05 Jun 2019 17:49:30
Good post that
Up the pool.

3.) 05 Jun 2019 17:49:55
ST I cannot deny that he scored many top goals and was a good squad member in the past couple of seasons.
However whilst in Madrid on Saturday there were rumours that his cousin was knocking tickets out for £6k, which pi**ed me right off, no need.
Decent player on his day though.

4.) 05 Jun 2019 19:05:15
I'm sorry shughes but that's nonsense. How can you judge Sturridge based on something his cousin may or may not have done?

5.) 05 Jun 2019 22:38:51
I know nothing about his cousin.

6.) 06 Jun 2019 06:59:48
My uncle's an Everton fan.

{Ed025's Note - at least there is some sanity in the family then ravi.. :)

7.) 06 Jun 2019 19:03:58
Insanity more like it, Ed25.

{Ed025's Note - they are not far apart redwolf..

14 May 2019 18:54:07
What's everyone's opinion on Brewster pushing the front 3 next season? Ready now or do we need to buy a replacement? Sorry if it's been discussed I'm in and out.

Square tomato

1.) 14 May 2019 19:22:38
It seems the coaching team are big fans of him.

2.) 14 May 2019 19:22:45
Hello ST, hope you're now feeling better? Give the kid a chance, he looks special to me.

3.) 14 May 2019 19:23:53
I'd imagine he'll be capable of filling sturridges role, maybe a versatile forward could be added with origi likely to stay too. He's still young so no need to expect Brewster to deliver just yet, bleed him in to the squad and hopefully he can shine when given the chances.

4.) 14 May 2019 19:24:41
Ed01, is Steve Nicol on the legends list and if not would you mind doing a player review as i'd love hear your thoughts on him and his strengths etc. Anyhow, hope you're well!

{Ed001's Note - I have added him to the list, he deserves to be on there. Terrible pundit but he was a fantastic player.}

5.) 14 May 2019 19:29:27
Hi ST, I think we need some cover mate and Brandt certainly fits the bill as can play anywere across the front 3 as well as a N0.10. I think Brewster will get chances though mate as Stidge will move on so I would think Brewster and Origi vying will get some chances but Brandt would be a welcome addition. I just hope we can pursuade him to join as he wasn’t interested last summer as we couldn’t guarantee game time.

6.) 14 May 2019 19:58:44
Ye id love to give him a chance, think he’s excellent, Brandt is top class tho and klopp has wanted him forever.

7.) 14 May 2019 20:01:08
The proof is in the pudding. Let Brewster show it on the pitch. And not just once but several times and on a regular basis. We know that Klopp gives chances when he is convinced to do so. Then we'll know we have something. Fingers crossed.

8.) 14 May 2019 20:37:12
Great badge you have there ST!

9.) 14 May 2019 20:39:41
Firmino, Big Div, Brewster

10.) 14 May 2019 22:19:58
Cheers Ed happy to help!

11.) 15 May 2019 15:59:54
A square tomato post without anyone asking him what Gomez had for his tea last night? Madness.

08 May 2019 06:46:16
Unbelievable ye completely believable with this team! Wow what I night, the best game I’ve ever been too at Anfield YNWA.

What is Gomez saying?

2.) 08 May 2019 08:42:51
Hello ST, I hope you are well? glad you had a good time at Anfield, you lucky bugger, I'd of gave my left arm to go to such a game lol. Good to see you on here again mate, as always.

Really great read, love Nuno and you can tell the plates are just eager to please him, wolves are so hard to beat at times and play attractive football, spot on with pep i've said before, failed his job at Bayern by not winning the CL, and so far you could say the same with city they won the league before he got there the owners want the big one! But he’s lorded over when he can literally ask the club to sign anyone he wants, never really been impressed by him.
