Hi Eds
Not a MOTD reaction, and I know its been mentioned previously, but is Lanzini an option once PC jumps ship?
Thanks.

JLCBM

{Ed001's Note - we have shown no interest previously.}

1.) 08 Nov 2017 08:51:13
He is way too inconsistent to join us now IMO. Would have minded buying him if it was two years back. We are at a point in our development stage where we simply have to buy much better players than him or see all the work put over last few years go to waste. Just my opinion of course. I might be wrong.

{Ed001's Note - that is why he is still at West Ham, that inconsistency.}

2.) 08 Nov 2017 09:27:15
He's decent at best, I have never understood why some people think highly of him. I'd rather give Woodburn his chance then sign Lanzini. I know we will be looking for a replacement for Coutinho but then we are talking names like Lemar, Draxler, Meyer etc. I don't know if Meyer is an option? Lemar is probably Arsenal bound, Draxler a bit too injury prone for me.

Ed001 what do you think of Hakim Ziyech mate? From what I have seen he looks pretty damn good but not seen him tons and I don't know what he's like as a person.

{Ed001's Note - I have not seen much of him either to be honest.}

3.) 08 Nov 2017 18:03:43
I still think Insigne would be the best replacement for Coutinho.

Unless I missed it earlier/ previously. welcome back Salah.
You've been missed on these pages
It's quite clear that some common sense is required on here. people are gitting the self destruct button already

Hope all is well your side 👊.

{Ed014's Note - I’m actually thinking of going for counselling myself as editing this page is so depressing! 😫😂

Which is why it's so nice to hear from Salah (OP) again. he's been missing in action lately so I'm happy he's back. we need more positive people like him on this site.

My god what an effort from everyone and medical staff, but some good news is just amazing.

2.) 12 Jun 2021 19:50:46
So happy he's awake. Thought the worst watching on TV. Thoughts and prays are with him and his whole family.

3.) 13 Jun 2021 22:15:52
So happy for him and his wife and fam. That must have been terrifying having to wait for him to be revived. Nobody should ever have to go thru that.

21 Feb 2021 06:56:55
Is it wrong I was more angry with the penalty decision than the loss🤔🤔🤔🤔.

JLCBM

1.) 21 Feb 2021 08:54:12
It was a penalty.

2.) 21 Feb 2021 09:01:24
Go listen to Souness rant on referees and watch the Fulham goalkeeper kick the sheff Utd player and no penalty given. May make you feel slightly better. It did me.

3.) 21 Feb 2021 09:19:13
Worst penalty decision for a long time but it didn't affect the result.

4.) 21 Feb 2021 09:48:00
We can't keep blaming decisions, maybe if we started to take our chances and played with some passion we might improve.

5.) 21 Feb 2021 09:56:43
It is a big contributing factor when they are as bad as that. As well as defending as bad as that.

6.) 21 Feb 2021 09:58:18
The Var decisions again this weekend just go to show it’s not working, we have gone from a case of having refs make honest mistakes in games (the good old days ) to a case now where even with the benefit of having slow motion replays to help, we getting more “honest” mistakes, either get rid of var or get ex players to operate it, ruining footy for me.

30 Jan 2021 18:30:27
So I'm watching Arsenal v Man Utd, and Fernandes has just scraped down the back of Xhaka's calf. VAR sees nothing wrong. are you kidding me

When is the inconsistency going to stop.?
Or is it just favouritism again.?

JLCBM

1.) 30 Jan 2021 18:36:18
I know right. Its a joke. Not even a yellow. What use is var when a couch coach can see its a card all day long.

2.) 30 Jan 2021 18:54:09
I saw it how was he not booked.

3.) 30 Jan 2021 18:59:04
I don't think VAR can get involved for a player to be booked, only if they deem it a red card. I guess they didn't.

4.) 30 Jan 2021 19:38:56
And 2 cases of a player jumping for a header and the opposition ducking underneath them causing them to land head first on the ground (I call it the Harry Kane technique) . On both occasions the player ducking under got the free kick even though they are the one committing the foul. An extremely dangerous foul at that!
It’s scary how little the refs know about the game and the tricks players use to con them.

5.) 30 Jan 2021 19:44:26
That answers that then Rover.

6.) 30 Jan 2021 19:54:42
Tylor and Neville just went flat and quiet when it happened!
He’s a lil rat that fernandes if he’s not rolling around crying he’s been a dirty lil bitch!
You’d of forgot him and Pogda where even on the pitch!

7.) 30 Jan 2021 20:35:53
With regards to the heading and ducking thing, i don't think its as clear cut it always being a foul if someone ducks or even goes to ground when a player challenges for a header. In Harry kanes case, it normally is a foul from him in my opinion as he actively backs into the other player at the same time. However if for example, like the Maguire lacazette one, you are stationary and a player come flying over in the air to challenge for a header so long as you don't go towards them i see no issue with trying to avoid being clattered by someone coming towards you, leaping in the air with little control. Equally when a player using another players for leverage in a jump i. e. hands on the shoulder (which should be given as a foul) surely it makes more sense for a player who is now impeded to duck or go to ground to prevent the other player pinning them and using them as leverage, both players therefore ended on the floor. An example of this being the west brom goal against liverpool, had fabinho of just fallen over the player would of fell to the ground with him, instead be stayed up, couldn't jump as he was being climbed on and we conceded. So i don't think its as clear cut as it all being like Harry Kane.

8.) 30 Jan 2021 22:04:47
I’d agree with that DS but in today’s game both saw the player coming and both ducked underneath them, flipping them over mid air. It was Lacazette on Pogba and Maguire on Lacazette. Both extremely dangerous challenges and both completely misconstrued by the ref.

9.) 30 Jan 2021 23:26:41
I had to laugh when miguire lucky blocked a shot because he was totally flat footed and couldn’t move. Gary Neville comes out with “Great block! Sometimes you just got to stand still when defending! ” What a load of compete and utter crap. No wonder he failed as a manager.

15 Aug 2019 04:44:50
The better team lost in my opinion.
We weren't very good but still managed a win. That's all that counts.

I thought VAR was supposed to get decisions right. that was never a penalty.

JLCBM

1.) 15 Aug 2019 05:52:03
If the penalty wasn't awarded, then it will be 2-1. The team that score more are always the better team in my opinion. Peace.

2.) 15 Aug 2019 06:27:55
I think we created more chances than Chelsea and shots on target. What surprised me is how many attempts they had! Our defence needs a bit of work. It was a good game by both teams.

3.) 15 Aug 2019 07:23:30
Not sure that was a clear and obvious error from the ref for the VAR to intervene.

4.) 15 Aug 2019 07:28:48
The whole point of technology is to get decisions right (as far as human subjectivity allows) . I think the way Premier League is implementing it is much better than Europe because in PL they don’t care about the on pitch referee and don’t only overrule clear and obvious errors (whatever that is) but will overrule on all errors.

Everyone that saw the penalty incident yesterday agreed that it deserved at least a reconsideration by the referee, except the VAR officials. Perhaps they were too worried about overruling the referee due to non-footballing reasons (first female referee and all) .

I’m glad we went onto win otherwise the referee would have come to receive a lot of abuse. And it wouldn’t have been her fault that the VAR tried to overprotect her.

5.) 15 Aug 2019 07:38:48
In my opinion we were the better team and yes I agree, never a penalty, it surprised me how quick she made the decision to give it!

6.) 15 Aug 2019 08:23:56
I thought it was a pretty even match, both teams could have won. VAR decision was rediculous.

This was a match where we needed to avoid injuries and although Chelsea looked good, we played the match in 1st gear. Looks like Chelsea will struggle upfront this season. Lampard has a massive mountain to climb and to be honest, the look he had on his face while waiting for the medals to be handed out shows he does not know what he got himself into.

Maybe Klopp is asking the players not to go all out yet, pacing the team as there is a long season ahead.

Lapses of concentration and untidiness are the reasons why our defence is not up to scratch compared to last season. Just a couple of slaps and it should be sorted.

Winning the trophy will add confidence and winning becomes a habit :-)

7.) 15 Aug 2019 10:31:09
I thought Chelsea played very well, overall and exposed our serious shortcomings that need to be addressed. Were they the better team, tho? I don't know for sure cos well, we had the better chances, hit the post. double save from Kepa from Salah and VVD and a couple of other openings. Chelsea had no shots on target in the second half so we got to consider that as well.

As for the penalty, VAR should have intervened to overrule the ref. Them not doing that in a bid to say, "protect the female" ref" stuff, is doing a huge disservice to her cos for me, I want more women to be refs and all that. I do not support the fact that they need to be protected when she makes a mistake. If a male ref should not be protected then a female ref should not, either. All in all, I'm happy we won cos it will make for a good atmosphere heading into the Saints game.

8.) 15 Aug 2019 10:46:21
Great teams find a way to win even when they aren't at their best. I don't agree however that Chelsea were the better team. They were in spurts, but overall they were not.

9.) 15 Aug 2019 11:45:06
2 games in and the majority of the first team squad have been given minutes. Only players not to get any yet are Kieta (niggle), Lallana and Shaq (plus the youngsters) . And Not forgetting Lovren but rumour is he could be off. Interesting to see that Ox who most see as a centre mid has leap frogged Shaq currently for a front 3 role.

Look at the LFC "fans" once more being the almighty know-it-alls and already writing off Adama. shame on you lot.

Let's just enjoy the ride with Klopp whilst he's here and let's see what he, and the coaching team, is able to do with Adama. IF he joins.

I don't see Nat Phillip's and Davies being our centre back options. too inexperienced

I see 1 of Henderson or Fabinho partnering either Phillips or Davies, allowing the other to move into midfield

The good thing here is that we have options.

So I see "Clever Play" in the same light as VAR.

It's brilliant when it works in your favour but fails when it works against you.
