Good morning Ed’s…. just a quick question for yous. Are Andre, Thuram or Kone still of any interest for January or next summer would you think. Especially Andre in January. Cheers guys.
{Ed002's Note - Andre Trindade (DM) Recommended to Liverpool as Fabinho cover a couple of years ago. Arsenal have scouted the player and may well make a move prior to the January Window with Edu being praised as being more respectful than a representative of another club. Prior interest of Barcelona and Braga has gone. Fulham are keen to take him if Bayern Munich return and they lose Palinha - but there is a catch for interested parties who have been told must be resolved. Fluminense only own 80% of his rights and that would need to be addressed. They will also seek perhaps €40M including add ons. I would not rule out Napoli but they may be some way off meeting the transfer fee or indeed Manchester United who will need a Casemiro replacement. I am not aware of any agreement between Liverpool and Fluminense just yet but there is the possibility of completing the transfer for January although they will have competition. Fluminense have a replacement lined up.
Khephren Thuram (DM/CM) Nice felt they were messed around by clubs in the summer and then the player picked up an injury. Interest of Spurs, Liverpool and, in particular, Juventus remains. Interest of Newcastle will likely fall away. If interest further grows his price will rise and the club would sell given the emergence of Alexis Beka Beka and an impressive youngster in Reda Belahyane. Real Madrid have him on a list of potential additions given they are facing midfield departures in the summer - and I would not rule them, or indeed Manchester City, out. Player wants PSG but they have no interest at this time - but his representative is pushing PSG and will encourage the player to wait out the year and see what happens.
Manu Kouadio Kone (CM/DM) Prior interest of Milan has gone. Newcastle did approach Borussia Muenchegladbach but they will resist a sale although Newcastle remain keen. RBL were keen to add Kone to replace Laimer but that interest, like the interest of Bayern Munich has gone. Juventus and Liverpool may have a continuing interest but I expect both to look elsewhere.}
25 Jul 2023 13:13:59
Any truth in this eds? Andre Trindade, a 22-year-old from Fluminese. Holding midfielder apparently. New name drop. Doubt it myself.
{Ed002's Note - Andre Trindade (DM Recommended to Liverpool as Fabinho cover a couple of years ago. Prior interest of Barcelona and Braga has gone. Fulham are keen to take him if the lose Palinha and Liverpool could potentially add him to their list of options - but there is a huge catch. Fluminense only own 80% of his rights and that would need to be resolved. They will also seek perhaps €40M including add ons.}
1.) 25 Jul 2023 13:55:11
I like the look of this player. Good against the press and breaking up opposition play. Looks like he can beat a man too.
2.) 25 Jul 2023 14:58:46
Do you think it would be a risk Ed002 compared to others we’ve looked at?
Wolves signed a highly rated Brazilian holding midfielder last season (Joao Gomes) from Flumieense in the Brazilian league who has taken time to settle into the PL.
I would prefer we target premier league proven or at least European league proven players.
{Ed002's Note - There has to be a level of risk given his age and experience, and as you say it may well take time for him to settle. And yes, I think that there are better options on the list for Liverpool.}
3.) 25 Jul 2023 15:46:44
Thanks Ed. Palinha out for a while with his disclocated shoulder? and did we seriously have him on the list of possible targets. Decent player.
4.) 25 Jul 2023 16:14:19
Klopp did say he wished the club would take more risks re transfers, Trindade could be a viable, Ali could aid his settling.
However, playing both sides of this debate, SB is already in the first team, Lavia has experience and 3 years younger.
I’m not the person to say how Trindade will develop or Lavia either, but SB looks an awesome prospect to me.
5.) 25 Jul 2023 18:54:40
Kew17, we did take more risks in the TW last season for the disaster that we all know off with 3 of the 4 signings we made being gone already while Darwin as well was a huge risk so IMO, we are taking the risks in this context, IMO.
However with the way things panned out last season, it would not be strange to hear that we are being a bit more pragmatic in this window, making sure that we have all our ducks in a row before we pull the trigger.
6.) 25 Jul 2023 19:35:05
Good points Oilred, wasn’t thinking of last season windows, cheers, can’t disagree with your points.
23 Apr 2023 21:33:59
Apparently. jude really really wants liverpool this summer. judes representatives been talking to liverpool for ages
We did offer a little over 85m in the last couple of weeks
Dortmund want him to sign a new contract with a release clause of 80m next summer.
This is not over.
1.) 23 Apr 2023 22:22:51
It won’t be over until the lad retires from the game and even then it might not stop.
2.) 23 Apr 2023 22:40:38
I think we should sign him and play him at right back. Trent is our new midfielder now.
3.) 24 Apr 2023 00:40:05
Thank god Joaquin is retiring at the end of the season, otherwise he'd be on his way to Anfield this summer (! )
4.) 24 Apr 2023 07:04:57
Forget it OP. It’s not happening.
5.) 24 Apr 2023 09:31:39
Lets hope it doesn't get wheeled out by the likes of James Pearce and Paul Gorst as an excuse for a half-baked rebuild this summer.
28 Sep 2022 10:30:07
Keep hearing rumours of keita nearly agreeing new contract. surely not eds?
{Ed002's Note - I know no more than I have previously explained.}
1.) 28 Sep 2022 16:07:36
Klopp clearly wants to keep him so.
2.) 28 Sep 2022 19:42:30
Keita has 'nearly agreed a new contract' since the middle of last season.
3.) 28 Sep 2022 20:43:18
You do realise that the club also uses the contract to get a fee should then the player be sold. Just cuz he's signing a new one doesn't mean he won't be gone come the summer. The Naby Keita project is done for me. Good luck.
4.) 28 Sep 2022 22:33:16
Why would he sign a new contract, only to be sold in the summer! Not in his best interests at all would make no sense for him.
5.) 28 Sep 2022 22:20:53
New contract also makes him harder to get shot of if he’s on an improved wage. I’m hoping it’s all just newspaper nonsense as there’s no logical reason for extending his contract.
6.) 29 Sep 2022 18:43:26
He doesn't deserve a new contract. that's the point. We give him a new contract and he'll just play sick for another 3 years the waste of space. Let the clown go for nothing or try and offload him in January for minimal fee.
7.) 29 Sep 2022 18:43:26
He doesn't deserve a new contract. that's the point. We give him a new contract and he'll just play sick for another 3 years the waste of space. Let the clown go for nothing or try and offload him in January for minimal fee.
8.) 29 Sep 2022 22:40:10
Jimble how often does it happen that someone is given a contract extension and then sold the following window on the basis that he's not needed?
I'd wager it's at best an infrequent occurrence at PL level.
9.) 30 Sep 2022 00:49:02
Suarez left in the next window after his new contract, but didn't we give that to him to take out that ridiculous £40m+ fee clause that he had in his old one?
{Ed002's Note - No.}
10.) 30 Sep 2022 23:55:50
Both Suarez and Coutinho left shortly after signing new contracts. I'd wager that both player and LFC knew that the player was moving on and that the new contract was signed to enable the club to ask a higher price and for the player to ask for a higher wage, from the new buyer.
05 Jul 2022 09:33:39
Is sangare of serious interest to us eds?
{Ed002's Note - I have no way to measure "serious".
1.) 05 Jul 2022 10:22:23
Minor interest:
Our scouts have watched him.
General interest:
We've spoken to his agent.
Interest:
We've enquired direct with his club.
Serious interest:
Klopp has illegally met with him in Blackpool for fish and chips.
What stage are we at Ed002?
2.) 05 Jul 2022 10:34:15
A measurement is an observation that quantitatively reduces uncertainty. Measurements might not yield precise, certain judgments, but they do reduce your uncertainty.
3.) 05 Jul 2022 11:40:54
It's not major interest until Ed002 tells us Klopp has had his tongue down his throat!
4.) 05 Jul 2022 11:52:25
Unless you are asking if the glass is half empty or the glass is half full.
5.) 05 Jul 2022 12:41:16
I'll take all that as q no then lads.
6.) 05 Jul 2022 12:47:54
Hi ed,
Thank you for always providing us liverpool's transfer information. Some of news has mentioned and linked lfc with Matheus nunes and Cody gakpo?
Appreciate if you can share your thoughts Ed.
Thank you once again and have a great day.
{Ed002's Note -
Matheus Nunes (CM/DM) Manchester City, Newcastle and Spurs have all sent scouts but it has gone no further. Manchester United see him a financial more viable Matic replacement than other options. Wolves will look to add him if Neves is sold after losing out on Palhinha. His agent has offered the player to Barcelona. Everton interest was rebuffed last summer and whilst it still remains, a move to Everton seems unlikely and Wolves could win out after discussions. Player needs convincing about a move to England.
Cody Gakpo (W/F) Versatile forward having his best season at PSV. Rejected the option to move to Bayern Munich last year as they would not give any guarantees of game time as he wants to be a starter. Leeds will offer him that as a Raphina replacement. Atalanta had an approach rejected. Has been watched by a number of Premier League sides, including Manchester City, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool (who opted for Diaz) and Arsenal (who now have Martinelli doing well). Arsenal have been looking at more versatile players but their real need is for a Pepe replacement in the summer in addition to a Lacazette replacement - so they could yet look to him again - but would he start over Martinelli?. Gakpo extended his contract in January and PSV together with their new coach want to keep him regardless of the interest. They will work hard to avoid a sale.}
7.) 05 Jul 2022 12:50:32
The issue with not signing someone like Sangare is that Neither Ox, nor Jones nor Elliot are defensively minded, plus 4/ 5 of our MF's are injury prone .
Look what happens when Fab is injured or playing at CB.
8.) 05 Jul 2022 19:45:29
Eds2 i will send you a ruler.
9.) 05 Jul 2022 21:23:09
Hello spaceman, your impeccable standards have resumed once more, you are correct we do require a more defensive midfielder, any chance TAA could perform that role if needed? but think you will say he's also too attack minded, it's not a bad trait to have you know, on the lines of "Who Dares Wins" (Jurgens Football Motto) .
10.) 06 Jul 2022 01:03:59
When we have this conversation you have to include Matip 007, or at least, that’s what we normally do.
Sometimes we go on to say that Liverpool aren’t, according to the club themselves, aren’t going to buy anybody else in this window. Then we have a bit about ‘never say never’ (usually inspired by those who play Prmier League Manager) who say that the club are just providing a bit of dis-information and that we will be signing whoever has been mentioned on social media within the last quarter of an hour.
I believe Ed02, who is by a distance far more informed than the rest of us on such matters is (or at least was) of the opinion that the club is in the market for a midfield player should an appropriate opportunity arise and, as I say, he is nearly always on the money.
Watch out for someone mentioning Jude Bellingham coming in or Naby or Ox leaving - they are generally the triggers for this daily conversation ??.
11.) 06 Jul 2022 08:22:11
Any chance of us selling Naby and Ox to get Bellingham in?
12.) 06 Jul 2022 11:35:53
Next season Flash promise ??.
13.) 06 Jul 2022 11:50:41

So who's available for the match tomorrow? Trent, thiago, konate still out? Obviously vvd is still missing. Anymore updates.
1.) 15 Sep 2023 13:31:31
Trent out. Thiago out. Virgil suspended. Nunez a doubt.
Konate available.
Source: Klopp's press conference.
2.) 15 Sep 2023 14:15:55
--------------Wrong page ----------------
3.) 15 Sep 2023 15:49:38
Cheers. What's up with nunez then. Gomez rb.
4.) 15 Sep 2023 16:18:19
Seems that way. My expectations would be Gomez RB, Matip and Endo at CB, with a midfield trio of Szobo, Macca, and Jones.
5.) 15 Sep 2023 16:54:31
Endo at cb instead of konate? I can't see it myself. Be good to have a decent look at him. 3 points lads.
6.) 15 Sep 2023 18:18:18
Muscle problem for Nunez I heard. Plus being relatively late back means the club haven't been able to assess it properly yet.
7.) 15 Sep 2023 20:27:31
We might be surprised with Gravenberch starting at either DM or CM (because of Mac Allister's late return) . I'm aware that's not the usual Klopp way, but then what's a squad of 25 for? And plus, Bajcetic is fully available now.
8.) 16 Sep 2023 00:06:07
@Magico, if needed I can get there at midday with my boots.
9.) 16 Sep 2023 00:12:52
I’m actually enjoying wondering what the team will be - it’ll be really interesting to see who starts and in what position. I’ll go with
Ali,
Joe, Joel, Ibou, Robbo
Dom, Endo, Curtis
Mo, Diogo, Luis
With Baj, Ryan and Cody getting time (Endo replacing Ibou at the back with Baj @ DM, Ryan replacing Curtis and Cody replacing Diogo) depending on how the match is going.
10.) 16 Sep 2023 00:54:03
My bad. Slipped my mind that Konate was already back. In that case, it'll most likely be Konate with Matip at CB with Gomez at RB.
14 Aug 2023 09:09:15
Eds who would be your preferred dm out of Fernando Luis and sangare? I'd be happy with either.
{Ed001's Note - I have not seen Sangare play.}
1.) 14 Aug 2023 10:49:08
Luis is a wily operator with a very similar style to Fabinho. He's very good at reading the play and likes to use those telescopic legs like prime Fab did.
I don't see the fuss about Sangare other than him being a unit. He's not even that good in the air for someone that is 6'3. He'll also be off to the AFCON.
Lavia and Kone for me.
Luis could be really expensive.
11 Aug 2023 09:37:35
{Ed025's Note - seems like it Oli, you could say you are stuck between a stick of rock and a hard place mate. :)
Love it mate.
1.) 11 Aug 2023 10:05:01
You are not alone! You are with multiples on this site unfortunately. Always trust in your club I say…. they WILL get it wrong sometimes but they will also get it RIGHT but then so would you and all the others that over-analyse, over-criticise, etc. the difference they do so with more credential. We are not professional in this game and of course we are right to have a view but there are a lot better ways of articulating that view with patience, diplomacy, and control which entices people to enter into discussion rather than get drawn into more aggressive argument or, like I do, take little or no notice of the posts if I can (as soon as I see stupidity) but skip over and unfortunately risk missing a good read from a decent post. The difference here with you though is that you make point that you criticised and feel proven wrong - I haven’t read your posts but based on your latest I suspect that you are a true red and that they were far from the worst ones?!
YNWA.
2.) 11 Aug 2023 11:05:10
Magico, you better believe it, lol. Ed25 can be a riot as much as he can be a crank at times but all good for sure.
@Metrored, that’s how I see things mate. I always said that we should allow the process to play out and then judge from there. Many can’t seem to grasp it and are so impatient that they do their own heads in with things they literally have no control over. I’ve been over it, man. Onto Chelsea.
14 Feb 2023 07:07:15
Good game last night lads.
Thought the starting front 3 were excellent, midfield solid. Baj nunez and gakpo really really good. Some 1 said on live chat Cody could be more a midfielder. have to agree his ball retention and skill taking 3 or 4 players on was quality. Finally looks like the new guys are gelling into this system. Hendo coming back was good especially for Stefano baj. He looked excellent. Bit lucky with the header onto post but that counter was superb. What did you think of pickfords position ed.
{Ed025's Note - I can’t really blame Pickford for the defeat magico he was sold down the river by some very naive defending mate..
1.) 14 Feb 2023 08:35:29
Pickford wasn't to blame for the defeat but he was at fault for the first goal. His positioning was terrible.
2.) 14 Feb 2023 08:54:38
Bja was outstanding last night and made the win over Everton so much more enjoyable. I really do think we have saved ourselves big money bring him though to the first team. What a player for 18 years old!
3.) 14 Feb 2023 09:04:25
Finally gelling Magico? Gakpo has been there for 5 games. We are way too impatient, not everyone hits the ground running like Diaz (who for me still lacks refinement on his finishing) .
As for Nunez, always puts a shift, scared the crap out of Coleman all night and creates havoc wherever he goals. Yes, he doesn’t score enough but again, it is his first season and most forwards struggle in their first season in PL.
4.) 14 Feb 2023 09:45:49
Ed25 in the last podcast, weren't you the one claiming to the other Ed's that Pickford was top 5 in the PL? Yeah, not sure you believed that and I don't believe that your defender cost you the game. Pickford was abysmal on both goals, end of. If that was Allisson, I would blame him for both too and you would do the same.
On the first goal, what that football was he doing that far from his goal on the Nunez cross? On the second goal, he comes out, doesn't get the ball and starts scampering back like a lame chicken. Sorry, Pickford is just a weird GK who does things ONLY he can understand.
{Ed025's Note - I think he’s still top 5 oli. Not the best but far from the worst mate..
5.) 14 Feb 2023 10:48:56
ED25, he's terrible. If he actually focused on being a GK rather than engaging in stupid antics and trying to whind up the oppo. crowd for reasons NOBODY else on the planet understands then, he could end up being decent at best.
{Ed025's Note - most keepers are dead from the shoulders up oli, pickford is a decent keeper i believe mate and certainly not the reason we are struggling, our problems lie in the creation and finishing departments..
6.) 14 Feb 2023 11:03:39
Have u started smoking something mate???stay off ot if u have?? pickford top 5 but nunez is andy Carroll ?.
{Ed025's Note - i believe pickford is top 5 liverbird, just an opinion of course... on the clown, he is very quick...and thats it...brains of a goldfish for me mate..
7.) 14 Feb 2023 12:10:04
Not sure why my replies aren't coming through on any posts? If Pickford went to a top 6 side he would be out in 6 months, he is bang bang average, as an ex keeper he is massively over rated, he has a good kick, big wow, he is eccentric, rash and makes the simple look awkward, given Everton aren't decent at this point he looks better than he is, Top 10 Keeper in the league? Nah, he would be No.3 at Liverpool for a start haha, never used to mind Everton at all, used to go Goodison with my dad to watch Coventry play but since money came and a lack of success with it, the fans have turned very bitter, any inkling why Ed?
{Ed025's Note - bitterness is dictated by how well the team is doing i suppose lancaster, the world is a great place when you are fling high but if your team is in the doldrums your mood seems to be too mate, after liverpools losses to brighton and wolves the super fans of liverpool became very toxic but are now as happy as larry because they beat everton, fickle is not the word..
8.) 14 Feb 2023 12:45:10
Losses should be accepted as part of our game at the minute, the owners are a big problem for me, i can't hide it and have questioned them for years lol.
9.) 14 Feb 2023 13:05:40
Good banter and all is fine but hooliganism is not fine at all. i mean in that city match someone was seen abusing a handicapped kid for gods sake. Brings up the question of how people are being brought up to be honest. definitely other supports might be same but that doesn't excuse our guys to b lowing to that level. last couple of weeks have been tough but definetly jurgens the one for job. in jurgen we trust.
10.) 15 Feb 2023 11:09:56
Always love beating Everton though, Ed. Even if we were 19th and yous 20th.
{Ed025's Note - bragging rights have always been a big thing in the city rambo. but in the end its just football mate..
Bit lucky with the header onto post but that counter was superb. What did you think of pickfords position ed.
{Ed025's Note - I can’t really blame Pickford for the defeat magico. He was sold down the river mate by some naïve defending..
1.) 14 Feb 2023 08:01:19
Pickford really isn't a top class keeper, he makes the comfortable look awkward, it's standard bottom table thinking that a keeper has some decent matches because he's busy in a poor team, he isn't in the top 3 of English keepers, if he played for one of the top 6 i guarantee he would be replaced inside half a season as he would get exposed for lack of concentration, ability and mentality, sorry ED 025 lol.
{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions lancaster, i think hes a decent keeper myself and the fact that chelsea and spurs are chasing him backs that up, i would say he is probably in the top 5 in the prem myself mate..
2.) 14 Feb 2023 09:48:22
Ed25, and the other Ed's laughed their heads off after you made the same comment on the last podcast about Pickford being Top 5 in the PL. Loved it.
Oh n btw, Pickford is the weirdest GK I've ever seen in a while. The guy likes the limelight and like whinding opposing fans up. If he actually focused on doing his damn job rather than these other wretched shinanigans, he could actually be top 5 in the PL. Weird as hell, your GK, man.
3.) 14 Feb 2023 12:14:10
Love different opinions, opens up the eyes to look at things from a different point, i don't watch Everton every week but when i've watched him he just doesn't seem composed at all, he's definitely a camera keeper Ed.
{Ed025's Note - oh he does love himself lancaster, but as keepers go i dont think hes bad mate..
4.) 14 Feb 2023 15:21:53
Awk in fairness Pickfod is a decent keeper, he shows that for England and they have tried others but never looked as solid as they do when he plays
We're blessed to have Allison, but there's not many really better is there? City, Utd probably yes but Lloris isn't great, I'm not convinced on Pope or Ramsdale either.
5.) 14 Feb 2023 15:22:46
He is a good shot stopper that's it i would not put him in top five keepers there always looks like he has a mistake in his game
as he did last night for first goal.
08 Sep 2023 10:39:01
Why don't the Saudis just but lfc and have done.
01 Sep 2023 17:50:16
We never learn though ed. I'd be offering Jones and cash for him. Worth a try. He's too good for fulham.
01 Sep 2023 17:40:53
I'd of been on palhinha 1st. but obviously they won't let him leave as they can't get the player they want now. Too late.
{Ed002's Note - A lesson learned.}
31 Aug 2023 17:36:20
JAG where you been haha. Nice one becker.
31 Aug 2023 17:34:29
He was a good player before joining city. so I wouldn't say no. he's been treated badly there and deserves another chance at a top club but they'd try to have our pants done if we tried.
Pep seems a bit of a nob the way he treating some players.
19 Oct 2023 12:58:19
And also some of you who think Reece James is better than Trent…. have a serious look at yourselves. Trent is a generational talent and should be treated accordingly. He will be in that England midfield 100% 1 day, and in ours also.
19 Oct 2023 12:48:11
Well I’ll just say so far this season and still early days but I’d of picked Trent over macallistair in our midfield.
05 Oct 2023 13:12:41
IT question about VAR……have they tried turning it off and on again?
03 Oct 2023 18:34:31
reports saying they have released it is to Liverpool already. And will make it public also. Probably been busy all day doing a reconstruction.
28 Sep 2023 17:28:47
No he isn't humble. 6 games 5 goals for real madrid in league. 1 game 1 goal in champions league. Come on get realistic. Dom has all the makings of a really great footballer but don't pretend that Bellingham isn't serious top drawer at 20yrs of age.
Now you could say yeah but la liga is easier than prem and all that but he was captain of dortmund at 19 and best player they had.
And this isn't putting dom szob down because he's been excellent since he signed and long may it continue. And maybe 1 day Barcelona or real will come for him.
