Eds read a few reports saying we are interested in sesko from leipzig. Any truth or complete rubbish as usual? What's your opinion of him also. Must say he's never really impressed when I've watched him, sooner stick with Darwin in fact.
{Ed001's Note - we have watched him, but so have half of Europe, but not sure of any more than that. I don't know if he is good enough at the link up play to make him a target for us to be honest. Decent enough goalscorer though.}
1.) 06 Mar 2025 22:53:00
Ed001, do you see any possibility in Nunez and Alvarez swap plus cash? Darwin seems the perfect striker for Simeone, while Alvarez would suit Liverpool so well.
{Ed001's Note - no. None.}
15 Jan 2025 16:56:06
Lots of rumours around saying salah is going to be the highest paid player in the world by Saudi, could be BS but could see it happening.
1.) 15 Jan 2025 18:30:16
He will if he goes on free. We end up with Wilfred zaha. Opportunistic signing.
2.) 15 Jan 2025 18:31:31
It is not BS sadly. Obviously the club can't pay those crazy wages, but i still blame them for allowing it to reach this point where he is free to get these offers. So easily avoidable with an earlier deal as he so badly wanted a new fair deal to break more records and win more trophies with Liverpool. Now he can choose between 350k a week or 4 million+ a week. (to be the best paid player he'll have to exceed Ronaldo who's 39 and makes around 3.9 million £ a week)
3.) 15 Jan 2025 19:49:23
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they try and get him to fight Usyk as well.
4.) 15 Jan 2025 20:20:54
And run the Grand National.
06 Jan 2025 19:42:48
Is Marmoush nailed on for city? We have no interest?
1.) 06 Jan 2025 22:26:13
Yeah, he won’t be joining us. Apparently we’re keeping our powder dry and assessing our options for the summer whilst being ready for an opportunistic signing.
2.) 07 Jan 2025 03:21:37
He'll cost a fortune and to me he's worth it but I don't see us doing it because we like our bargains lol which I have no problem with to be fair, it's worked out for us.
3.) 07 Jan 2025 07:55:24
We have missed out on the big trophies in the last few years, failing to get over the line. We do need players to help the squad, a midfielder or a cb/ lb would help a lot.
4.) 07 Jan 2025 08:59:14
Markp08, I wouldn’t hold your breathe. Apparently the budget for the next two summers is “limited”.
5.) 07 Jan 2025 09:02:49
I think we probably are taking a good long look at him because he does everything a slot no9 would need to do, and looks like he has the physical profile for the premier league. For city, buying him would simply be making up for the arrogance and idiocy of letting go of Alvarez in the first place.
6.) 07 Jan 2025 11:32:50
I am obviously expecting nothing to happen, but fingers crossed something could happen. Midfield is probably the priority.
7.) 07 Jan 2025 12:10:14
The LB position is a priority for me as robbo’s legs have clearly gone. Every game he is getting done big time and making huge mistakes trying to rectify it. Sad times but it happens to us all in the end!
8.) 07 Jan 2025 13:28:31
I would rather it went back to the lb’s sharing the position for now. In midfield we are an injury away from a real problem just as happened to us last year.
05 Dec 2024 13:06:09
Ed’s what’s the likelihood we go into the January transfer window for a couple of additions? Does it all depend on how we fair from now till then? Or are there plans in force anyway?
{Ed001's Note - we will try for at least a midfielder.}
1.) 05 Dec 2024 14:13:19
At the summer, we should go all in on A. Bastoni. he's going to be an amazing fit for us. Ed01s been spot on again. He was one cb he was high on since long ago.
2.) 05 Dec 2024 14:26:31
Bastoni is inter through and through, pretty sure he would never want to leave his club, barella, another we’ve been admiring for years, would probably be the same.
3.) 05 Dec 2024 13:36:18
Ed001, you reckon Endo might be shipped out to make way? He doesn’t seem to be favoured right now.
I fear for Quansah as well to be honest, I think mostly pure bad luck sadly but he’s having a shocker this season and I wouldn’t be too surprised to see him moved on and someone else brought in either in Jan or the summer.
{Ed001's Note - yes, I expect Endo to go, sadly.
As for Quansah, he is just not as good as some fans thought. He has ability and physicality, but he is trying to be like Virgil and that is not what he needs to do. He needs to be himself as he is ending up being less laid-back and more lackadaisical.}
4.) 05 Dec 2024 13:38:10
Any idea who Ed?
I don’t think the Zub one makes sense tbh.
Thanks in advance.
{Ed001's Note - I don't know, it will be based on stats, they are looking for someone to help keep possession in the middle of the park.}
5.) 05 Dec 2024 14:16:24
Cheers ed, definitely 1 needed for me and also a cb, not sure which we are most desperate for though.
6.) 05 Dec 2024 14:34:04
Do you see us going back for Zubimendi Ed001? Or has that ship sailed?
{Ed001's Note - I would be surprised if we went back for him.}
7.) 05 Dec 2024 15:53:24
I would love us to get zubimendi eventually, he has been scary scary good for sociedad this year, uses the ball perfectly and gets into the final third a lot too, though I think ed001 is right, his game is quite similar to Mac allister this year though he is also making a lot of interceptions in midfield.
8.) 05 Dec 2024 16:42:40
Absolutely doubt we’ll spend money in January. Just can’t see us doing it.
9.) 05 Dec 2024 16:57:30
Quansah I think definitely won’t be our level and will probably move on or he stays as a 4th choice.
10.) 05 Dec 2024 17:08:54
Whats the chances that LFC go for Amad Diallo in the summer on a free?
Or Tottenhams Son on a free?
11.) 05 Dec 2024 17:37:50
Fatwallet-Quansah was excellent last season, and lest we not forget his age.
He has plenty of time to develop into a top level player.
Id be selling Jo Gomez ahead of Quansah.
12.) 05 Dec 2024 18:04:40
Vango why?
He’s of a good age, not expensive on wages, non verbal about playing time, gives his all when he does play. Plays two positions brilliantly and can also help out at left back,
Well liked by the squad.
It makes no sense to sell him.
13.) 05 Dec 2024 18:51:05
Also, I’d be gutted to see Endo go.
I said before the match yesterday Endo should be getting minutes to be better prepared for the tougher matches coming. He’s a warrior!
Saturday is prime time for him.
Last Derby at Goddison Park, them slowing down the steam train were riding on top of the league?
Two huge reasons on top of every other reason they have (Yes we have the same reasons) to win!
I would have given him minutes yesterday to have him available and ready for a start Saturday against Everton. A surprise may be strung and he starts. I genuinely think this is a game he was made for!
GK dependent on Allison
Trent Gomez VVD Robertson
Endo Gravenberch
Salah Jones Diaz
Nunez
Sent with a smile All
We’re top of the league YNWA.
14.) 05 Dec 2024 18:59:45
Unfortunately the injuries look like they caught up with Joe. For me he lacks that consistency that is required at the very top. He seems to be a world beater one game and a Championship player the next. Brilliant servant to the club but I think we need an upgrade now if we are to push on.
15.) 05 Dec 2024 19:02:14
Evening ed001…
Any idea on who ( midfielder ) we might move for?
Cheer
Drogie.
{Ed001's Note - no mate sorry.}
16.) 05 Dec 2024 20:30:51
Sad to say but Darwin needs to move on (and with a 3 year write down it wouldn’t be as financially bad as it could be) He was totally out of his league last night and running around with loads of effort and industry doesn’t make you a PL player. ? Alex Isak would score aboat loads of goals and I’d love us to go balls out for him?.
17.) 06 Dec 2024 00:38:25
I haven't been convinced that we need Zubi because of his similarity to Jones. But in recent games, the one-touch football has noticeably increased between our CMs and the wingers / fullbacks. So got me thinking that we do need to increase that kind of skillset into the team. eye for pass, create angles, triangles etc etc. Zubi would be good for that and would compliment Szobo and Jones well in that sense.
18.) 06 Dec 2024 00:44:31
Some who keeps the ball? How about Youri Tielemans?
19.) 06 Dec 2024 01:02:16
@Schultzy, you are correct but I think it’s very, very sad that a phrase like ‘with a 3 year write down it wouldn’t be as financially bad as it could be” is being used when talking about footy. The beautiful game is over the hills and long, long way gone.
20.) 06 Dec 2024 11:08:58
How quick a young lad like Quansah gets written off, not at our level now? when most people were perfectly happy to have him start the first game at Ipswich back in August? Same people probably still making excuses for Darwin who cost a fortune and who let's face it has to be the worst finisher ever to play upfront for the reds. Makes Heskey look clinical.
21.) 06 Dec 2024 21:31:44
Bit tough on Heskey
More akin to Voronin.
22.) 07 Dec 2024 21:12:57
Was never confident with quansah at Ipswich tbh, I’d rather keep Gomez, it’s my opinion that he’s not good enough.
23.) 09 Dec 2024 10:40:00
@Ed001 would you take Frenkie de Jong considering he was top statistically for % of ball retention under high pressure until his form fell off a cliff this season? Available for cheap so low risk possible high reward?
{Ed001's Note - god no, he is earning something like 400k a week after tax. He is not that good either. Very much like Mac Allister, lacks the mobility we need.}
14 Sep 2024 08:40:25
Eds what was plan for mexican winger César 'Chino' Huerta who allegedly had his bag packed ready to join in window just gone, . Report I read said he was going to Sunderland on loan for a season but it fell through on their end, so deal wasnt completed. Is he someone just for the academy or to make a profit on? Never seen him obviously. Cheers.
{Ed002's Note - He is certainly not for the academy
Cesar Huerta (LW) Right footed LW who Liverpool, according to his agent and manager, were interested in taking and sending him on loan to the Championship as he is borderline in being eligible for a Work Permit for the Premier League. Austin enquired after him and Lutz Pfannenstiel considered him as an option. If FSG could purchase another side in Europe or the MLS it would help with loaning him out.}
1.) 14 Sep 2024 15:04:02
So the loan to Sunderland was to gain make work permit an easier process and then join our first team the season after maybe? Love a South American me, grafters.
{Ed002's Note - Possibly.}
2.) 15 Sep 2024 01:48:42
Magico
Hope you love North Americans as much as South bud.
3.) 15 Sep 2024 11:25:15
420FL, that made me smile.
4.) 15 Sep 2024 22:28:52
Haha sorry pal.

05 Mar 2025 17:53:03
What score we going for tonight lads. I'm going 3-2 to us.
{Ed025's Note - 0-2 for me Magico with Slobz scoring the first goal..
1.) 05 Mar 2025 18:43:25
1-1 I think mate with us winning the second leg at Anfield 2-0.
2.) 05 Mar 2025 19:05:50
I think it’s going to be a very tough game tonight hope we win but would be happy with a draw.
3.) 05 Mar 2025 19:10:34
3-1 Salah, Mac, Van Dijk.
4.) 05 Mar 2025 19:11:19
Think we'll nick it tonight, 2-1, then finish the job at Anfield.
5.) 05 Mar 2025 19:22:48
Think the winner of this tie wins the cup to be honest.
6.) 05 Mar 2025 20:53:10
lucky to not be 3-0 down already. hopefully we tie our boots and actually try to play second half.
7.) 05 Mar 2025 18:25:03
Deffo think they'll score ed25 mate.
{Ed025's Note - Liverpool done really well Magico. But if I hear any supporters moaning about a team parking the bus or using the low block. I swear I will scream mate ?
8.) 05 Mar 2025 23:14:19
We did an Everton on them. ?.
{Ed025's Note - no you never FF, we battered you more than PSG did mate.. :)
9.) 06 Mar 2025 07:30:59
To be fair to Ed25, Everton did bust out the handbags at the end of our last match with them and did their best to batter us with them ;-)
{Ed025's Note - we do have you on our mantle piece at the moment Phil, we own Merseyside but im hoping we take it easy on you in the derby mate, we would not want to derail your push for the Premiership title now would we?.. :)
10.) 06 Mar 2025 09:33:18
Ed25, that was a perf. that Jose in his bus-parking pump would be proud of.
{Ed025's Note - it was definitely the right way to go against a very talented PSG team Oli, there is more than one way to skin a cat as they say mate..
22 Feb 2025 17:31:27
Question for ed1 and all the regulars, I know Nunez is getting a lot of stick and rightly so currently…. but would any think he’d be better suited playing 2 up front like the olden day system of partnerships like crouch and defo, Cole and York ect… Personally think he needs to go and replace him with Isak although cunha much more likely for me but still want him to succeed. Also do you think the fact we don’t seem to have a settled front 3 apart from mo is unsettling the system some how.
{Ed001's Note - yes, but it probably wouldn't be better for the team to play two up top like that. And yes, the lack of a settled front line is causing problems with the link up play. The problem is that injuries keeps unsettling it, so not a lot Slot can really do.}
1.) 22 Feb 2025 18:14:16
Apparently we’ve offered Newcastle 120 million and Nunez for Isak.
They’ve come back and countered saying they just want 120 million.
2.) 22 Feb 2025 18:29:20
Shouldn’t that be they just want £120m to take Nunez JK?
3.) 22 Feb 2025 18:34:43
Robbo ??.
I think I’ve had a few too many. Took me a few times reading that but I got there in the end.
4.) 22 Feb 2025 19:16:48
I’ve mentioned it before but would Nunez not be considered on the Left - if Diaz goes and we bring in a goal scorer does that not open the door so scoring goal pressure is off, and he can compete with Gakpo when he comes in he provides that energy, causing some chaos and providing - didn’t he play on the Left against us and was a nightmare?
5.) 22 Feb 2025 19:30:15
They put clause that say no counter offer with Jota, Jones and Eliot or Quandah either.
6.) 22 Feb 2025 19:46:16
Sofa I think it’s because Darwin is a pretty high sellable asset mate.
Of course he could be a back up left winger. But does the club want 70 mill sat around on 140k a week as a back up.
7.) 22 Feb 2025 22:24:21
The system has been perfect for him he's gotten plenty of chances when he’s played he just can’t finish them.
22 Feb 2025 17:15:50
Just out of curiosity if city won their last 13 games how many would us arsenal and Forrest have to lost for them to be champions?
1.) 22 Feb 2025 17:32:08
More chance of Darwin suddenly been able to hit the target.
2.) 22 Feb 2025 17:37:39
Magico if City did that they would finish on 83 points
If we win seven games and lose five, we would finish on 82 points
Don’t ask me about draws though, despite being as good looking as Rachel Riley her maths are far better.
{Ed001's Note - I would say you are probably closer to her in maths than you are in looks.}
3.) 22 Feb 2025 17:39:18
Funnily enough, I was just working on this calculation (well I was approaching from the pov of how many points do we need to be certain) .
If all teams in the top 7 won their remaining games (not realistic, I know as some are against each other like us and Arsenal! ) then our potential max points are 97, Arsenal and Forest 89 and 86 respectively (albeit us and Arsenal can't both get to 97/ 89!)
City's max is 83 points, and if we get a result tomorrow it will drop to either 81 or 80.
City have a game in hand on us and Arsenal atm so we'd have to drop 14 points out of our remaining 36, in fact 15 points out of the remaining 36 as our GD is much better than City's, for City to get past us. I just can't see that happening, personally.
They are also 9 points behind Arsenal (with 1 game in hand, so call it 6) and Arsenals GD is also significantly better than City's. So Arsenal would need to drop 7 points out of their remaining 36 for City to get past them.
I could see City getting past Forest if they get on a run as Forest are 3 points closer to them than Arsenal.
Still not counting any chickens until we are at least 5-6 games closer to the end of the season. If the gaps are still similar to what they are now, I will start getting a bit more confident!
4.) 22 Feb 2025 17:54:13
Haha face for radio me Ed001.
{Ed001's Note - so I heard. But you can't all be as pretty as me mate.}
5.) 22 Feb 2025 18:13:14
Funny reply Ed1, definitely an improvement on Vorderman.
6.) 22 Feb 2025 18:16:19
Ed001 I’ve heard you are a handsome one mate.
Apparently Oli has a poster of you on his bedroom wall.
{Ed001's Note - and who could blame him? Slim as well.}
7.) 22 Feb 2025 18:25:24
Why are we still even talking about City? There’s some scars that take way too long to heal.
8.) 22 Feb 2025 18:40:07
I'm not getting into the 'Tris's looks' debate as you may remember you connected with me on LinkedIn many many years ago, so I do recall what you looked like!
{Ed001's Note - that explains why I deleted LinkedIn, I couldn't remember what it was, but now I remember it was a lovesick puppy stalking me on there!}
9.) 22 Feb 2025 20:12:38
Zed are you sure that was LinkedIn and not grinder ?.
15 Jan 2025 10:14:48
Ed’s what’s your take on the lack of game time Harvey Elliot is getting or not, last season every time he came on or started he seemed to bring the tempo of the game up. Believe he had a great pre season though I never saw any. Seems a waste to me, as for jones I don’t know what slot is seeing in him.
{Ed001's Note - every manager has their preference for the way they want to play and Harvey likes to push the play and take risks. Slot is more cautious, particularly early in games, so I think the two just are incompatible. Jones will keep the ball better, which Slot sees as a key part of his game plan.}
1.) 15 Jan 2025 10:26:54
I think our weakness is in the 1st half of games were we are very passive, we came alive yesterday because we scored after it was looking mission impossible then we got a spring in our step and looked dangerous, last season elliot came off the bench multiple occasions and saved us i am sure he had 11 assists most from the bench its a shame he isn't being trusted.
2.) 15 Jan 2025 10:29:05
I think it’s a matter of slot’s conservatism again, which is either a good or bad thing considering it’s what got is to this point at the top of the table in the first place. I think that if we didn’t have the pressure of winning the league right now Elliott might get more of a look in, but slot himself has said that he is more inclined to use players he trusts and who have been training for longer to win games. His injury came at a very unfortunate time because he missed the period when slot was figuring out who his core rotation options should be and when players were coming into form over a run or games.
3.) 15 Jan 2025 10:42:53
Cheers ed, jones might keep the ball better but does nothing with it imo. Last few games have shown that too.
{Ed001's Note - he did ok as a sub last night and started the season well. He just gets too cautious at times and dallies on the ball. If he stuck to moving it quickly, he would be fine.}
4.) 15 Jan 2025 11:02:59
We have seen how important Szobo's physicality is to our game. Where does Harvey fit into this team? I expect he will move on in the summer. If Brighton like him, then perhaps there is some horse trading opportunity on one of Baleba/ Pedro.
I couldn't help laughing at the final sentence I wrote.
5.) 15 Jan 2025 12:51:04
I'd be more concerned that Slots not using Endo enough in games, he would make a difference against a midfield like Forests.
6.) 15 Jan 2025 12:57:32
PatrikBurgher, I gagree with you re: Elliott. I think he had a great preseason and I thought he would carry that over into the start of the season. Sadly, that injury set him back and with the way we started the season an for a new manager, he has trust in certain players and not in others.
And with the way things are going now overall, the trusted players remain trusted and the untrusted ones remain as such, rightly or wrongly. It is what it is. I do believe that Jones and Szobo (key to the way we play, like @Pelican says) need to be more decisive in their decision making in addition to speed of execution of said decision, whatever it is.
7.) 15 Jan 2025 12:57:53
Yes, Pelican. That last statement was pretty funny in isolation, lol.
8.) 15 Jan 2025 13:10:16
Jones needs three years on the ball and that’s fine against passive teams but Newcastle and Utd the midfield was bulldozed and he looked out of his depth in all honesty.
9.) 15 Jan 2025 13:19:08
On Szobo - I wish he would take a chance on himself from time to time. He always opts to play Mo in when breaking forward with the ball. From time to time, I would like him to crack a shot off. We know he can.
10.) 15 Jan 2025 14:24:18
Been saying the same thing all season, Pelican.
18 Apr 2025 07:15:24
Kdb is finished, injury prone legs completely gone. He'd get less minutes than chiesa in his current state.
{Ed025's Note - age creeps up on all of us Magico, but he has been a fantastic player mate..
17 Apr 2025 19:15:49
Whyowhy I'm done with buying players and loaning them back out. He'd be 3rd choice behind virg and konate. and konate gets regular injuries so he'll get plenty of chance to become vvd partner. Gomez should be sold and quansah still needs time and used as 4th choice.
No more buying players and loaning them out. What a waste of valuable funds.
17 Apr 2025 19:03:40
Only 1 man can make them great again. Said it last summer it would happen. Jurgen is going to real Madrid 100%. Finally gets the players he wanted. And many more he wants. No financial restraints there.
17 Apr 2025 18:59:16
Real Madrid are no longer a team. And just as well ancelloti only signed a 1 year extension last year as he'd be getting sacked now anyway. Bellingham going around screaming and blaming everyone 1 but himself is absolutely disgusting, who does he actually think he his? Believed the hype people of given him. Vini junior just wants to be the best. Sod his team mates. Touchemi and camavinga raved about by some. Bloody rubbish. Mbqppe is a real talent but not with that lot. Arsenal wiped the floor with them just as we did in the group stage.
Onl.
04 Apr 2025 18:00:23
Wouldn't he be a jota replacement?
16 Apr 2025 19:14:59
Both are klopps teams. But the 1 in 19/ 20 season were much better. Also even say Brenda s team when Gerrard slipped with suarez in the the team was a better team than we have now. Attacking wise 100%. Klopp would of had this league wrapped up earlier if he still was in charge and had the enthusiasm for it.
14 Apr 2025 19:59:42
Lee bowyer springs to mind.
11 Apr 2025 12:54:06
Southampton valued him at £100 million……he impressed in that game, definately a talent but wtf 100 mill are they smoking crack down there?
11 Apr 2025 07:47:01
Give your head a wobble lad……cunha ready to take the next step up? And you think United are a big upgrade? Give over.
09 Apr 2025 13:12:42
Keep Elliot and replace robbo and kostas and I’d take that list.
