So let me get this straight - fans are telling gini to grow a thicker skin and not get upset with the online abuse he receives, and then in the same breath are clearly wounded by him taking a swipe at fans as a collective?

It can’t just be me who sees the irony in this? 😂.

Shaq Attack

1.) 25 Jul 2021 09:17:35
Wonder how Keita feels looking at his online reviews!

2.) 25 Jul 2021 09:28:34
Er yeah Shaq Attack, 99% of footballers have their critics. Leave with a bit of dignity and say thanks for the support. I would further add he was motivated by money in his decision making, not his love for the club.

3.) 25 Jul 2021 09:58:03
It's the satirists I feel sorry for.

4.) 25 Jul 2021 10:40:59
Given the abuse that footballers get, I think we should all take it a little more serioualy.

5.) 25 Jul 2021 10:59:23
Clearly the irony is lost on you IPC mate. The same people who telling Gini to get over the criticism are crying because he’s criticised our fan base. It’s hilarious 😂.

6.) 25 Jul 2021 11:10:44
It’s the self entitlement era. We can say whatever we want about people online but if they dare say something back we get all offended.

7.) 25 Jul 2021 11:23:47
Gini was dead right you only have to read some of the comments on here by folks that wouldn't get a kick in a horsebox yet think they know it all. Would love to see the reaction if some strangers walked into their job and told them they were sh*te at it despite not being qualified to say so. I'm quite sure they'd just accept it alright.

8.) 25 Jul 2021 12:21:00
Spot on, Shaq. The other Sky Chuckle Bro Carragher said something similar, telling Gini he was wrong to say he got abuse from fans on SM and telling him to get off SM if ghe abuse was getting too much. So in other words, Gini was wrong in calling out the LFC fans who gave him vile abuse. So in essence, Carra would rather tell people to not talk about their struggle with SM abuse rather than actually attack the problem of SM abuse and itself. That is abject victim-shaming.

Who da heck does this guy think he is? Carra or anyone else (IPC12, as well) is in NO position to tell Gini or whoever how they should deal with the abuse they get or tell him or whoever to leave any public space, go that matter if the abuse is getting too much. That is Gini’s decision and his alone. Telling him to suck it up or leave SM, is not addressing the problem of vile abuse or cyber bullying itself.

9.) 25 Jul 2021 20:08:40
There ain’t no irony as it’s the fans that pays for his wages which for the last 12 months we’re not worth the performance hence the criticism. The whatever hundred grand a week he got is enough to live with the criticism from the people paying his wages. And yes, I know it’s not just match day tickets and memorabilia that brings in income. He can say what he wants but if he thinks he’s beyond criticism for his performances from the people who pay his wages then he’s wrong.

10.) 25 Jul 2021 20:22:46
Gini is probably too classy to respond to Carra, but he could always drop in that at least he doesn't spit on fans.
That would put him in his place somewhat.

11.) 25 Jul 2021 21:30:01
Flash, how Carra kept a job after that disgraceful act is STILL beyond me. And you know what’s worse? The fact that there were actually people out there defending him by saying he was provoked by the kid’s father or some other rubbish.

Now that’s the guy lecturing Gini about how to handle online abuse or abuse in general. This is the lack of self awareness we are being afflicted with of late. As they say, “It is better to be silent and be thought of as a fool, than it is to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt”.

12.) 25 Jul 2021 22:21:59
WarMachine - it isn't just the criticism, it's what was being said. the team were struggling, people were talking as if he isn't making an effort cos he halfway out the door. For him, he was obviously doing everything he needed to remain fit and available, but wasn't get that recognition. Sure criticize a guy if he misplaces a pass, but I think fans always make this jump towards intention and motivation that is really impossible to say if you don't know the player.

13.) 25 Jul 2021 22:27:32
Being fit and available is nowhere near enough to pull on the red shirt for me Faithworks. Quality, 100% effort and match winning performances should be the criteria. And if he was doing that he wouldn’t have been criticised.

14.) 26 Jul 2021 02:40:31
well last season, being fit and available it was the standard lol but seriously, he is saying that it wasn't a fluke he wasn't available to play. I think fans need to decide what they want and also perhaps focus on positive aspects to a player instead of picking holes where they see fit

let's take 100% and match-winning performances, which are subjective. but let's roll with them. Gini is saying that he did everything to be available and make a difference for the team. Yet there were trolls out there who chose to say otherwise. And how do any of us know anyways? tbh I am surprised that he was impacted so much, but then again we need to be mindful that these guys are human too. In his eyes, he was giving 100% effort for the team that wasn't being seen. It'd grate on me too.

15.) 26 Jul 2021 06:20:58
Oil Red you’re talking about different issues now. Cyber abuse and not feeling valued are different things. If a player is cyber abused e. g racism and personal attacks it should not be condoned. A player being critiqued for their performances is something else. I personally never rated the player. He was a work horse yes, but he didn’t score enough, create enough, or penetrate enough and I have every right to offer that opinion. If you or he doesn’t like it, they can be on their merry way. He was motivated by money for me. We’ve lost vastly superior players and done far better. You’re trying to muddy the conversations with your nonsense.

19 May 2021 22:09:07
Officially in our hands now. Win and Leicester need to win by at least 5.

Well done boys from where we were.

We’re in a great run of form now, started the season extremely well, just that middle section and those 6 games at Anfield killed us.

Shaq Attack

1.) 19 May 2021 22:18:22
Wow how did we win that game? We did everything to lose it. Nobody was able to control the ball and pass it to a team mate. Going backwards putting everyone under pressure. Nobody wanted to take a shot outside the box. Thought ox did well for the time he was on. Well 3 pts on we go . well done boys.

2.) 19 May 2021 22:31:27
Thaiboy I don't know what game you were watching we had over 20 shots on goal and had over 65°/ ° of the ball. We should have been out of sight at half time, if our forwards were on song we could have won by at least 5.

3.) 19 May 2021 23:18:25
I think people expect the lads to come out direct from the first minute and take the game by the scruff of the neck. we haev 90 minutes + to pull a result. I thought the performance was alright compared to what others are saying. good interchange, players are trying to get in between the lines. that it is not coming off sometimes shouldn't detract from the fact the players are gaining confidence to persevere more often. especially with Thiago there we have been seeing way more balls to feet with a defender right on the back, and we are prone to losing the ball. but over time that will get better and it will help us break down these stubborn teams as those tight spaces are, ironically, where we are more likely to find a create space for opportunities.

good on the lads, solid performance got the goals to match.

I seem to remember a an ITK reporter claimed Kinsey would be announced yesterday 🧐.

Shaq Attack

{Ed001's Note - ?}

1.) 02 May 2021 20:40:57
Think he means Konate.

2.) 02 May 2021 20:41:30
OP is probably talking about Konate, not Kinsey (probably autocorrect) .

3.) 02 May 2021 21:07:41
Is Kinsey the new Navy Keith?

4.) 02 May 2021 21:12:45
Yep bloody autocorrect!

5.) 02 May 2021 21:45:12
Not very in the know then were they?

{Ed0666's Note - I think it’s an open secret konate is pretty much done

6.) 02 May 2021 22:05:46
Possibly Ed but as with Fekir it's not done till its done.

{Ed0666's Note - true dat

7.) 02 May 2021 22:32:25
Do you believe it is nearly done Ed0666? What does your ITK contact say mate?

{Ed0666's Note - mate I would put money on the fact it’s done.

8.) 03 May 2021 09:33:11
Just had a look he played the full 120 minutes of their cup game Friday night. Hopefully that's a good sign regarding his fitness.

20 Apr 2021 07:43:48
Obviously a lot has already been sad on the matter.

The bit that baffles me, is that all of these owners didn’t have the foresight to consult players and managers about their feelings on the breakaway? If for instance Klopp, Allison, VVD, Salah and Hendo aren’t down with it, then there really is no super league.

Shaq Attack

1.) 20 Apr 2021 08:03:22
Biggest thing that baffles me is, people are shocked about this. Greed has been part of the sport for a very long time now and it's only proving to get worse. If a miracle happens and this doesn't go ahead, it's only a matter of time before it does. The staff, the players and the fans opinions clearly counts for absolutely nothing when it comes down to the rich getting richer, can't be getting in the way of that now can we? god forbid!

2.) 20 Apr 2021 08:57:58
Because they view football as business and business only. All other stakeholders are a complete and under inconvenience. Players, coaches, staff, fans, local communities, they’re all just assets who must be bent to their will.

3.) 20 Apr 2021 10:27:33
Mate owners don't usually ask their employees before making multi million or billion dollars deals. If VVD, Salah, Klopp doesn't like the idea they will replace them with some one who will have access to more money than the above said people.

15 Apr 2021 07:46:29
I constantly see people professing that athletico showed the world how to beat us. When people say this they are referring to their defensive display.

Yet, the result at Anfield was 3-2 was it not? We scored 2 goals against their defensive display. Adrian had a mare that night otherwise we would have been through.

We look more like the Liverpool of old last night right up until the crucial finish. We lost that tie in Madrid and gave ourselves too much to do.

I went into the game last night with low expectations of a turnaround, but by the full time whistle I felt deflated because of the chances we had.

Let’s put all our focus into making top 4 now. Which is very achievable. I think Leicester will drop out of top 4 when you look at that run in, so 2 places up for grabs!

Shaq Attack

1.) 15 Apr 2021 07:54:06
we are not good against teams that sit tight and make it compact. we don't have natural goal scorers from midfield. our entire game plan is to pass to TAA and Insha Allah. Other than Salah we don't have a genuine goal threat (Jota is an exception)

2.) 15 Apr 2021 08:25:11
Last nights result was disappointing. In whole the season has been disappointing especially since the Palace game. Up until then we were top of the league. Our most embarrassing result for quite some years came though before all the injuries. 6-1 to Stoke a few seasons ago was bad but that team weren’t current PL champions at the time.

We still have top 4 to play for and then Klopp has a massive summer. Problem is quite a few of our players will be involved in the Euros and then come next season the African Nations.

Every time it looks like we are turning a corner we seem to take another step back. We’ve gone from a team that couldn’t lose in the league to getting beaten 9 times this season.

We could put it down to CV, No fans, injuries, too windy, grass was too long, Var, Tv schedule, kick off times, officials, Allison’s feet being too cold, Utd having to many penalties or individuals.

The truth is the only thing we can blame is performances as a collective throughout the season. And the fact we just haven’t been good enough and in a lot of games we’ve stunk the place out.

Personally I cannot wait for this season to end.

Some people will be red tinted glasses and some will be doom and gloom but the league table does not lie. And neither does the fact we will end the season trophy less.

CL qualification can salvage something in what’s been a poor season. Failing to finish in the top 4 would personally make this season a disaster. Europa leave football is not what this team needs next season.

3.) 15 Apr 2021 08:12:44
Anyone would wonder how we won the premier league and champions league then 😕

It’s been an awful season by the lofty standards this team has set recently, but not near as dire a future situation as most like to make out.

4.) 15 Apr 2021 08:28:48
yeah I think it becomes a convenient narrative to say that teams have figured us out. does figuring us out including letting Salah, Firmino, Gini and whoever else have free shots in the box? No.

Now there is no one saying that we are Barcelona tiki-taka level at breaking teams down, we have more work to do, but it's lazy to say we can't do it. Problem is that people can't separate performance from the outcome, too easily confuse the two.

5.) 15 Apr 2021 14:15:40
Spot on, OP. The whole “Atleti did this or that” or “Atleti was the blue print for this it that” is just tired rubbish coming from people who simply cannot analyse football. The worst thing about it is that Atleti don’t even believe that. After the game, the Madrid called their win “Gloria” meaning Miracle in Spanish. How can it be a blue print if the team admitted that it was a miracle they came out if the tie unscathed?

Also, teams have been low blocking us since Rafa was here so what on earth are the “experts” talking about as if this is something new? Oh and if teams figured us out then how did we get to we win all those games in the PL and CL to win both after 270 points gained and two successive CL finals? Seriously, I can’t be arsed about such nonsense.

Mane did not stand out at 21. No-one on this forum would have had a scooby doo who he was then.

Salah stood out a Basel yes, got his move to Chelsea and flopped miserably.

It’s incredibly remiss to write him off just yet.

The huge difference Grino is that Jim is coming from a place of complete ignorance. There is also a blatant tone of disrespect and derision in his post.

Jim is choosing to frequent these pages, if he doesn’t like what he reads from its editors he can always frequent another site. No one is forcing him to read it.

FFS Jimthered, why are some fans so touchy when they hear negative feedback about Liverpool FC. Ed2 has no agenda against Liverpool, this is simply a Liverpool forum where he provides warts and all info about our club, and i for one am extremely grateful. If you don’t like his info you can always feck off.

I personally see no value in buying an out and out winger. We have Elliott and I think Minamino deserves an opportunity this year.

I personally think a versatile forward who can play wing and CF is more what we need. Clearly Not these players necessarily, but in the mould of Malen or Chiesa.

I’ll bite Waro:

Alison - no need to replace for at least 5 years, probably a lot longer

Trent - a decade

VVD - we have Gomez and Konate as the future pairing

Robbo - I’d say a good 5 years at his current level

Fabinho - 27 and of no concern for a good while

Hendo - yes, we need to start thinking about a successor and I beleive that’s why we’re looking at the likes of bissouma

Thiago - another one who isn’t a spring chicken, much will depend on Curtis Jones I suspect but will likely need another cm to come in at some point in the next 2-3 years

Mane - we have Jota who will hopefully be at his peak around the time Mane begins to fade in the next 2-3 years

Salah - probably our biggest concern of how to replace. Perhaps young Elliott is that man? Perhaps an expensive purchase will be needed.

Firmino - yep, we need a replacement for him.

I personally don’t doubt all of these areas will be addressed in the next 2-3 years in a phased approach. The difficulty with replacing mane and Salah is that equivalents are not cheap, so realistically you have to sell to replace. I imagine we’ll sell 2 of the front 3 next summer and bring in replacements. Then phase the 3rd out the following year.

How many senior games did carra play as a striker IPC? That is a false comparison. Firmino has played his entire bundesliga career at AM (4 years and circa 140 apps) .

Klopp turned him into the striker role. It’s hardly outrageous to suggest playing him there could be an option.

Think you’re being unfair on Jota, he returned to pre season this week so is way behind Salah and Mane in his return to fitness. He showed last year that he can be a vital player for us who scores goals when called upon.

From what ed2 has said, the priority is a versatile forward before a cm.
