Hi Ed002

I know this a hypothetical scenario but who do you think would be realistic targets as replacements for Liverpool if both Mane and Salah were to leave?

Looking for your own opinion as much as anything.

But if there's known interest in replacement options, please do tell.

Appreciate you greatly as always.

Your biggest fan,

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - I think targets for replacing Salay would remain as previously discussed. If Mane were to leave the club would have to think about options they already have in Diaz and potentially Jota.}

1.) 16 May 2022 23:52:15
Cheers Ed. I picked up on the following options from searching -

Gnabry, Bowen, Raphina and Diaby.

Did I miss anybody from the options discussed?

{Ed002's Note - Try searching.}

2.) 17 May 2022 14:34:14
Klopp has been flirting with Dembele for years. Sarr from Watford has also been of interest.

3.) 18 May 2022 04:50:04
Gnabry is the one.

4.) 18 May 2022 08:12:09
Gnabry would be a brilliant signing if Salah was to leave. Imagine the torment opposition teams would be subjected to, facing up against Diaz and Gnabry every week. They're both so direct.

Hi Ed002, any chance of one of your summary posts of Liverpool's interest in incomings for the future.

I know you've been giving us lots of details on different players lately however your summaries are always a great read and there's always one or two that haven't been discussed largely.

Your biggest fan,

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to try and do too much yet but a couple who don't get a mention and are worth thinking about are:
Calvin Ramsay (RB/RM) has attracted Premier League and Serie A scouts to Aberdeen with declared interest from Bologna, Sassuolo, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Mikel Merino (CM) Real Sociedad will not be looking to sell Merino but if an offer of more than €40M were to be made then they would I am sure consider it. Struggled a little in Germany and used as a DM at Newcastle. Real Sociedad say that Merino has been watched by Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and again Newcastle this season. The player has made his desire to play for Real Madid clear.
Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty (RW) Toronto FC's 17-year-old player has been watched by a number of European clubs including Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester United. He has been in Europe have training sessions with Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen, and attempts are being made to arrange others. Cannot move to England before the summer but could move to Germany.}

1.) 06 May 2022 15:12:21
Any latest around dybala eds? He signed a new contract or anything.

{Ed002's Note - Paulo Dybala (F/AM) - selling was seen a way to raise the money to buy Verratti or Milinkovic-Savic last summer but he is out of contract at the end of the season and his demands for a new one are very significant - which delayed any agreement. Juventus will try once more but Dybala will be available as a Free Agent in the summer if a new contract is not agreed and as such, clubs outside of Italy can talk with him already. Liverpool may make a proposal although there may be lingering concerns over injuries and both the wage and signing on costs are significant. For me, a very good player but getting older and very expensive and I would have thought Liverpool may look toward the future although at 28, Dybala would make a very good replacement for Firmino. Manchester City may also offer an option and Manchester United perhaps a wildcard option although interest has waned. Atletico could look to him as a Joao Felix replacement if they were to lose him. Spurs with Paratici and Conte offer a very viable option but I would think that there will be better options available. Arsenal made an enquiry with his agent but were rebuffed. Those representing the player have spoken to many leading clubs in Europe but it seems prior interest of PSG has waned. Inter are the only Italian side who might be interested and Italian tax laws make them an attractive option. The player wants to move to Real Madrid or PSG, but that seems unlikely.}

2.) 06 May 2022 16:20:21
Hi Ed. thank you for always sharing your thoughts and updates about liverpool transfer rumour. Is there any news on Carlos Soler (Valencia)? Is he also one of player that we interested? Thanks Ed.

{Ed002's Note - Carlos Soler (CM) Financial issues at Valencia mean that they will listen to offers for players but want to hold on to Gaya whilst they have told interested sides that neither Carlos Soler or Maxi Gomez would be sold cheaply. However, Soler has so far not signed a new contract and is being encouraged to run down his contract next season and then seek a significant signing on fee when he is a Free agent. Barcelona has a sustained interest but have already agreed the signing of one Free Agent midfield player for this summer and they want to hold on to their youngsters. If they were to sell de Jong to raise funds, then Soler will become a target for this summer. Interest of Manchester United and Juventus has moved on to other targets. A wildcard option might be Spurs but it would likely depend on Champions League qualification and the coach at the time. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool.}

3.) 07 May 2022 11:29:58
Thanks for the reply Ed. personally think dybala could be a very good signing for us. injuries are a little bit concerning but those South Americans graft. Any younger Brazilian forwards looking good?

17 Mar 2022 20:33:57
Ed002, any chance of a St Patrick's day treat.

Could you provide a player or two that you think is likely high on Liverpool's summer transfer list of targets?

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - The club will push for Fabio Carvalho. I would not rule out a move for Jarrod Bowen. Renewals will be important.}

1.) 17 Mar 2022 21:44:59
Cheers Ed.

2.) 17 Mar 2022 21:44:59
Cheers Ed.

3.) 17 Mar 2022 21:54:21
Whao. If we do get Bowen, we’ll have a super strong front 6 that can rotate a lot more and keep things fresh.

Would you say midfield will be our priority? As it stands, we are pretty strong and stocked in all other areas of the pitch but midfield may need some upgrades in there.

{Ed002's Note - The club will look to making changes but I doubt there will be significant changes. The forwards are getting older and something will need to be done before too long. I can see one or two midfield changes.}

4.) 18 Mar 2022 00:05:28
If we're bring in Bowen would it be to soften the loss of Origi and Taki going?

5.) 18 Mar 2022 04:20:18
I hope taki can stay
He is a good utility man for front 3 and midfield 2.

6.) 18 Mar 2022 21:35:48
Personally would sell keita ox and taki to sign bowen. Maybe west ham would take keita and a big fee.
Either way ox has to go unless he really proves it now till end of season he can get back to where he was.
As for taki. maybe 1 more year? He took us to that cup final after all. If we get a good offer though I'd sell. he's easy worth 20mill to someone mid table in prem.

7.) 21 Mar 2022 14:34:32
Bowen makes perfect sense if Salah doesn’t re-sign. It’ll be almost impossible to replace Salah so we need to be careful not to hold any incoming players against that standard, but Bowen could easily be another Jota type signing and he seems to be a perfect Klopp style player IMO.

14 Mar 2022 12:18:20
Some rumours about yeremi pino if Salah refuses to sign extension. Can you provide any update on interest in yerimi pino please ed002?

Appreciate it as always Ed.

*Still hoping Salah signs of course.

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. Yeremy Pino (RW/LW/AM) His agent spoke with Manchester City and Chelsea last summer about the player but he agreed a new contract at Villareal with a significant €80M buy-out clause and a contract to 2027. Barcelona could still maintain interest in a player they looked to sign as a kiddie but the price is an issue. Real Madrid have him on their lengthy list of potential replacesments for Eden Hazard.

15 Aug 2021 08:58:04
Hi Ed002, seen some rumours, of aurelien tchouameni of Monaco. Do you think he could be a player on Liverpools radar?

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - No Davey - unless Fabinho is leaving.}

It would be a massive injustice if Minamino does not have a league cup and FA cup medal. He was a massive part of the journey. I hope the club or someone confirms soon he has both medals.

He can 100% call himself an FA cup and league cup winner and he deserves the medals to prove it.

Davey Sulls

1.) 16 May 2022 17:54:01
Call me old fashioned but for me the medals should be for who plays in the finals only.

2.) 16 May 2022 17:55:07
Wasn't he the top scorer in both competitions this year.

3.) 16 May 2022 18:04:02
Clearly seen him celebrating the league Cup win with a medal around his neck. Some1 else give him theirs?

4.) 16 May 2022 18:20:33
Omg this is terrible. He played a huge part in getting us to the final in both the cups. I cannot believe this.

5.) 16 May 2022 21:39:02
I thought the squad get a certain amount to dish out these days?

6.) 16 May 2022 21:44:54
Why am I not surprised that unapologetically negative has no concept of team and why Taki deserves a medal

This is stupid, but nothing really surprises me with those who run the game.

7.) 16 May 2022 22:25:23
The club gets 40 medals to distribute as it pleases. Taki was wearing one on the night.

8.) 16 May 2022 23:08:18
Walter is on the wind up again I see 🤦🏼‍♂️.

9.) 17 May 2022 06:42:56
None of our players would have a medal if it wasnt for Taki’s goals.

10.) 17 May 2022 08:47:43
I genuinely don't see the problem with only those who played getting medals.
I can remember Souness saying once when we won the league the medals were put in a box and was told by the gaffer if you feel like you deserve one take one. How times have changed.
I remember I came fourth in a school cross country run around 500 kids the top 10 got a plastic medal I felt I didn't deserve one coming fourth so declined. I don't see what all the fuss is about personally.

11.) 17 May 2022 10:55:35
you win and lose as a team. no idea how this compares to an individual event where you finished 4th.

05 May 2022 22:07:06
Awesome stuff. Thanks a million Ed.

15 Apr 2022 16:25:52
My goodness. Surprised Burnley sacked Dyche. I did not enjoy watching them but what choice did they have with the budget mismatch.

Obviously I have no clue what goes on behind the scenes but imagine he won't be out of work for long.

Davey Sulls

{Ed0666's Note - Everton?

1.) 15 Apr 2022 16:35:33
I'd do it. Everton need to stabilize for a few years and I could see Dyche being the man to do it. Fancy him more than lampard.

2.) 15 Apr 2022 17:16:33
Everton good call Ed0999.

3.) 15 Apr 2022 17:48:05
Dyche would get more job satisfaction being on the dole than going to Everton.

Amazingly this sacking now makes Klopp the longest reigning premier league manager.

4.) 15 Apr 2022 17:54:17
Can Everton afford to sack Lampard?

5.) 15 Apr 2022 20:10:29
What is the difference between Dyche and Big Sam who did a better job than all the Everton managers after him without the money to spend.
I am sure if they had stayed with big Sam and given him the money they had wasted they would be fighting for too 4 now rather than bottom 4.

{Ed002's Note - Sam is much taller.}

6.) 15 Apr 2022 22:54:23
002 😂.

7.) 15 Apr 2022 23:06:47
Local chippy owners love Allardyce.

8.) 16 Apr 2022 01:16:40
Fat Sam drinks his wine out of a pint glass, Dyche drinks it out of a bucket. That’s how you can tell them apart.

9.) 16 Apr 2022 09:26:38
They love Dyche in Burnley. And rightly so he’s done incredible.
I remember an away day there and even the pub next to the stadium is called something like the royal lord dyche 😂.

11 Apr 2022 13:12:59
If someone put a gun to my head to predict the prem winner if Liverpool would be given all 21 points now for last seven games and city have to play their schedule. Pick wrong and I die. I would pick Liverpool.

Don t question it. This crazy man has unspeakable power and has for some reason decided to target me for some sick life and death game.

Point is think if we pull off the unbelievably difficult task of winning all our remaining games, I think we LL do it.

Davey Sulls

1.) 11 Apr 2022 18:26:30
Got my eye on City drawing against Wolves away.
Wherever they put that fixture it’ll be a very tough game.

31 Jan 2022 09:38:45
Hi ed001, would be very interested in your opinion of Fabio carvalho. He looks to me like a really exciting one that could contribute as a squad player right away and be a star in the future.

Davey Sulls

{Ed001's Note - no idea mate, never seen him play, sorry.}

1.) 31 Jan 2022 11:39:18
Me neither, Ed. Never seen the kid play.

2.) 31 Jan 2022 14:25:20
Same here ed1, only heard of him yesterday lol but apparently a good player. We shall see. I hope you are well mate. Take care.

{Ed001's Note - all well and good here, how about you?}

Absolutely agree Ed. Anything could cause it. For me, I just needed to drop a level in job to focus on family stuff and boom. Takes a little time once issue is fixed to come out of it but was fairly quick for me.

Everyone has different issues that may take longer. And I might be a minor case. But I know one thing, if I didn't talk to someone, I would never have made the changes. To have that support of professionals gives you courage to make the changes neccessary.

I had a very brief moment of depression that happened a few months ago. For about five months I was waking up at 3 in the morning worrying about life's problems. Constantly anxious and agitated. Completely unlike my normal self. Speaking to a doctor early gave me the clarity I needed to make some changes before things got bad. I'm so happy I caught it early thanks to my amazing wife's encouragement (an even unluckier woman than the one we spoke about earlier Ed😀)

Never in a million years did I think that could happen to me. Couldn t even fathom it. I was an absolute fool to think that. Sometimes life just gets a bit complicated and it can bring you down out of nowhere. No one is immune. Not even the highest paid successful people.

I applaud people like Calvert-Lewin and other sports people for high-lighting the issue and normalizing it. I really do encourage anyone here suffering to just contact your doctor. It gets better once the first step is made.

Also, my doctor was not in the least bit surprised when I came to her. She said she gets plenty of cases. It's like any other sickness. You just got to treat it.

3 months on and it's like a 360. Couldn't be happier.

Davey Sulls

{Ed001's Note - well said Davey, it is something that can hit you out of nowhere and it doesn't matter if you are the richest or the poorest person on earth. Glad you got the help you needed, most are not so lucky. In some respects the likes of Calvert-Lewin have less of that help than the poorest, as most people around them are just sycophants looking to help them spend their money, rather than genuine friends. So I don't agree when people try to trivialise their problems by saying they are ok as they have money. Sometimes money can be a huge part of the problem.}
