Private plane just landed from Brighton to Liverpool tonight landed at 9.29 pm.
Tracked on X by Nicholas Bieber.
He guessing it's agents to thrash things out with Minteh.
So maybe this was is a quickish deal.

21 Aug 2026 23:19:43
I hope this isn't true.

4

21 Aug 2026 23:27:19
Baleba on the plane.

1

21 Aug 2026 21:19:27
Rumour has it the Minteh deal is done.

7

21 Aug 2026 21:38:16
Says who?

4

21 Aug 2026 21:53:07
The interweb probably.

3

21 Aug 2026 21:53:13
Alan, his brother.

4

21 Aug 2026 21:58:49
Titus Bramble.

4

21 Aug 2026 22:02:52
His brother Polo or his cousin extra strong.

11

21 Aug 2026 22:04:50
Marcus Aurelius.

4

21 Aug 2026 22:15:44
I'd take Minteh. People have become too pessimistic. Klopp took players and made them superstars and we loved it. Let's hope for more of the same.

13

21 Aug 2026 22:18:43
His dad ….. Everton Minteh.

12

21 Aug 2026 22:25:07
I thought his dad's name was Spear, married to his mum Peppa.

I think Lamar confirmed it.

10

21 Aug 2026 22:30:49
Looks like the Andy Carroll transfer window to me.

1

21 Aug 2026 22:35:10
The OP might have a Minteh source.

3

21 Aug 2026 23:07:26
Anyone remember when Lee Bowyer was nailed down as a transfer, and Houllier killed the deal? Said he was not convinced the player had the personality we needed. Fans were disappointed.

Right call.

He was also right about Anelka. Total t***.

2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - Anelka was not a total t***. You clearly do not know him.}

2

21 Aug 2026 23:08:21
Kaka, you mean the one where Suarez also arrived?

1

21 Aug 2026 23:13:00
Justa Minteh.

2

21 Aug 2026 23:17:45
I loved Ged as manager and probably more so as a person, but he was 100% wrong on Anelka.

4

21 Aug 2026 21:16:41.
Flight EIX39P just left Brighton for Liverpool. Could be Minteh? Or could be Baleba on way to Utd?

5

21 Aug 2026 21:45:24
Which airport is that then? Gatwick or Shoreham?

1

21 Aug 2026 21:47:48
Baleba to Utd.

I will be surprised if Minteh happens. Nothing but my gut tells me that, mind. 😂

10

21 Aug 2026 21:52:08
I reckon Pinkie Brown has some business on Scotty Road.
If you know, you know.
You ain't seen me, right?

1

21 Aug 2026 22:02:02
Baleba would be flying to Manchester, not Liverpool, surely?

1

21 Aug 2026 22:11:40
Are we still tracking planes. 🤣

2

21 Aug 2026 22:15:18
They can "flypool" ... we can save something on the rate of the flight. Minteh and Baleba in the same plane.

1

21 Aug 2026 22:32:08
Rodri used John Lennon for Barcelona, so why can't someone use Liverpool to get to Manchester? Not that anyone with brains would go to that place or clubs over our amazing beach sided city and club. 😉

2

21 Aug 2026 17:35:35
Gambian media saying a second bid rejected for Minteh apparently.

6

21 Aug 2026 18:30:55
Surely, we're not going to put in 70 mill for a player who's all about speed, and is currently out for 2 months after leg surgery on an 'unspecified issue'?
Would anyone else have gone for Marmoush?

26

21 Aug 2026 18:36:59
70mn for him is really not, I would pay either, anything close to 50-55 was what I felt was genuine value for him.

6

21 Aug 2026 18:38:09
First bid 50 and now second bid 60. Apparently Brighton wants 70 mln?
Insane... but Brighton simply looks to other transfers/players. Cannot blame them, but we should walk away and not simply pay out of desperation, leaving it so late in the transfer period.
Sign Barcola, keep Gakpo, and look in January again. Minteh is out until November anyway.

22

21 Aug 2026 18:50:59
Rayan's £86m release clause kicks in January. To waste the best part of that on an injured Minteh now would be ridiculous.

30

21 Aug 2026 18:51:13
Nah, walk away at that price. Although to be fair I wouldn't have bid anyway.
Offer Elliot in the other direction, maybe?

8

21 Aug 2026 18:54:01
If we've specifically scouted Minteh and think he has the attributes we need, we should not be put off because he's currently injured. If we signed him, he'd probably have spells out injured too. It's part of the game.

I personally don't rate him, but it's not my job to scout players.

12

21 Aug 2026 18:56:44
Shipley, Rayan's release clause is £130m, not £86m.

12

21 Aug 2026 18:44:12
Hughes is a joke. I suspect PSGs price for Mbaye is going up and up whilst they watch on and laugh at him throwing out panicked offers for mediocre RWs.

13

21 Aug 2026 19:01:50
I think Minteh has the potential to be a really good player for Iraola. He's strong, quick, high work rate, and good in small spaces. Yes, his goal output and end product require improvement, but this lad has a lot of potential.

Salah hardly set the world alight prior to arriving at Liverpool. Iraola and his coaching team have a good reputation for bringing on young players, and Minteh fits this profile...

12

21 Aug 2026 19:06:14
Offering Elliot in a deal, but are any teams interested in Elliot atm?
Yo me, he looks out of shape, or he's following what would Jan Molby do or eat?

7

21 Aug 2026 19:07:58
I can see why Brighton want £70m when Savinho has gone for £75m and you got players like Diomande going for €125m, but I don't think he's worth it.

It reeks of desperation this late in the window for an injured player that, in the best case scenario, we can use in 2 months.

There can always be setbacks, though, and he ends up taking longer... Just wait till January and look for someone on good form. Look for the new "Diomande" somewhere, that's what scouts get paid to do, no?

10

21 Aug 2026 19:10:53
@zedd, You say potato, I say potato lol.

1

21 Aug 2026 19:13:12
There has to be better options out there for £60 million.

3

21 Aug 2026 19:13:34
Patience would be prudent now. Keep Gakpo and let him, Barcola, Rio, Munoz, Wirtz, Koumas and the forwards fight it out. Edwards rushed the Isak signing and look how that went. Frinpong was bought to cover two positions also, and whilst all of the above bar Gakpo and Munoz lack strength, better to wait and see who might be available in Jan.

5

21 Aug 2026 19:28:58
Have you seen the market this summer, Red Jones? You won't get anything for £60m.

Savinho has just sold for £85m FFS. I don't particularly rate Minteh, but I'd be a lot more worried if we'd just spent £85m on Savinho!

9

21 Aug 2026 19:29:52
Really need to walk away from this one.

3

21 Aug 2026 19:32:26
When you look at the players PSG brought in and the prices paid, you really do have to look at the Minteh fee. Like the player, but it's getting steep. This is the price we pay for failing to prepare for Salah's departure! If Hughes wasn't jumping ship, he should have been pushed because his failure to plan for the squad is criminal.

Spent a fortune last year and left our squad wafer thin in the process.

2

21 Aug 2026 19:35:08
From my source, he tells me that Liverpool have offered 65 million and Elliot and Chiesa.

Brighton have countered it by asking for just 65 million.

20

21 Aug 2026 19:47:54
Why are you hating on Elliot and Chiesa? Elliot can still become a very very good squad player, Chiesa can play his part too.

9

21 Aug 2026 19:48:38
Why do people care so much about money? Seriously, we are an incredibly rich club.
It's all swings and roundabouts. We have sold some players in recent years for stupid money who had barely played a game for us.

7

21 Aug 2026 19:50:50
Elliott
Is a Championship level player unless managed by Klopp.
With a dad like his it's no wonder he's melting away.

1

21 Aug 2026 19:54:29
Calm down, Skezza, it was a joke.

I'm sure both will appreciate your support at Anfield this season when they're racking up the appearances.

6

21 Aug 2026 20:05:00
Some really mad stuff on here lately. People wanting a back rub for predicting what has been in the public domain for months now.

As for our club: while optimists like me will excuse anything, the fact that we are once again looking to sign players after pre-season is beyond stupid. Barcola, Minteh etc won't be up to speed until next season.

0

21 Aug 2026 20:06:47
It's almost like other clubs can smell our desperation.

4

21 Aug 2026 20:11:37
Totally calm, mate, just think it's odd that people have completely written off players like Elliot and Chiesa, who have both won us some big games over the past few seasons, and will probably do the same again this season.

5

21 Aug 2026 20:20:05
Skezza, I hope they do, mate. It was only a joke.

I'd like nothing more than them both to have a great season. Having only started 3 Premier League games between them in the last 2 seasons, I envisage it being more of the same this season, though.

4

21 Aug 2026 20:27:18
I was a big fan of Elliot, but he looks like a broken man.

4

21 Aug 2026 20:39:23
Elliott and Chiesa are not at the level we need to compete with Arsenal, City, Chelsea and possibly even Spurs now, with the greatest respect to what they have done for the club that can't be a reason to keep them.

4

21 Aug 2026 20:46:24
Both Elliot and Chiesa need to be moved on at the very earliest opportunity!

6

21 Aug 2026 21:01:08
The problem is they'll probably be needed due to us being so utterly shocking at buying players, so I'm just hoping they can come good for us again.
Sorry, JK, I know it was a joke, just hope they get up to speed with Iraola's tactics, get fit and become a valuable option for us.

2

21 Aug 2026 21:09:28
The whole window has been all about LFC desperate moves, utterly disappointing.

2

21 Aug 2026 21:21:51
How would you sign an injured player without a medical?

2

21 Aug 2026 21:28:13
No need to be sorry, mate.

1

21 Aug 2026 21:31:47
When do player swaps ever happen anymore? C'mon now.

2

21 Aug 2026 22:02:33
The Lid, I think you are misunderstanding what a medical is. The player doesn't have to go run laps or anything.
It's to check underlying conditions or serious injuries, doctors/physios, and I'm sure lots of expensive high tech machines will check for serious injuries and be able to say his injury is what it is, and that it will recover.

1

21 Aug 2026 22:04:13
Brennan Johnson/Dwight McNeil?

2

21 Aug 2026 22:09:36
Rayan's release clause would be worth paying for what he'd return. I think he'll prove it too this season whomever he plays for. That's the player we should be buying. Obviously only my opinion.

1

21 Aug 2026 22:39:13
Remember, fake names will be pushed this week, and boom the fsns falling for them all, trust the names on this, and be patient, and see who moves in the empty homes on pre order and I don't mean blu ray.

Hi Diddly Ho,

Just had a message… Cryptic but you all should get it.

🇫🇷 🛫 = 🔜.

Unless the French are invading, I think my flight radar subscription will finally get that use.

Also, not a fan of the whole emoji thing, feels too modern - but hey, direct from my source.

21 Aug 2026 17:07:53
If it's Wednesday and I predict the next day will be Thursday, does that make me a psychic?

1

21 Aug 2026 17:40:18
Expect to hear something official in the next 24 hours. Flights are being arranged, presumably not tonight.

21

21 Aug 2026 17:51:31
Hopefully, we get it done so he can get integrated and stop all the moaning... Then show everyone what can happen playing week in and week out, he's as good as anything out there in his position, I can see, and we need players... I'm backing him.

3

21 Aug 2026 17:11:01
Who knows the flight details then?

0

21 Aug 2026 18:03:08
Is right. Le Tallec coming for a legends game.

5

21 Aug 2026 18:04:56
There are a fleet of pigeons being prepared as we speak.

4

21 Aug 2026 18:05:53
New bid for Minteh rejected. 60m.

1

21 Aug 2026 18:10:57
Minteh overtaken the other press machine Mbaye since PSG think we should.
Pay 15m more than Dortmund.

3

21 Aug 2026 18:11:34
Copter watch '26! A yearly LFC tradition, whether real or not. : p

2

21 Aug 2026 18:13:58
I love these cryptic ones.

Is there a player called Fraplane Equalssoon?

4

21 Aug 2026 18:19:01
Thanks, Ned...

Any chance of 2 French flags in your cryptic clue????

2

21 Aug 2026 19:15:29
Fraplane Equalssoon is off to Saudi. His missus doesn't like the shop in L1.

2

21 Aug 2026 19:33:10
This is the same "soon guys" that has been posted for the last three weeks by various sources.

Eventually, it will be correct or not!

1

21 Aug 2026 20:26:58
Nedders, the bringer of happiness. I salute thee!

0

21 Aug 2026 20:31:54
French bird coming soon. 🤔🤔🤔 My dream about Vanessa Paridis is coming true.

0

21 Aug 2026 20:43:24
So the Bablecopter has been replaced by Barcolair Lingus.

1

21 Aug 2026 21:22:37
A boat after that flag would be more appropriate.

0

21 Aug 2026 22:58:52
Fabrizio said a few days so hopefully he is wrong, although tbf to him he has been pretty on the money with our stuff this year after getting the exclusive on Munoz and Araujo.

Ken.

David Ornstien: "PSG have reached an agreement with Liverpool over the transfer of Bradley Barcola, deal worth up to €150m including add ons, Barcola will travel to England on Saturday to complete his medical checkup."

16

21 Aug 2026 16:34:32
That's not from Ornstein. It's from a fan account...

9

21 Aug 2026 16:40:26
Not seen anything on Ornstein's feed!

21 Aug 2026 16:29:38

1

21 Aug 2026 16:47:07
Up to 150 million euros???

In the words of Richie Tenenbaum. You cannot be serious!

Please tell me that figure is a lie.

7

21 Aug 2026 16:56:27
It's gone up while we been waiting for it to come down.

3

21 Aug 2026 17:22:15
That's what she said, Kloppiche.

3

21 Aug 2026 18:15:18
It amazes me how many of you get caught out by my fan/parody accounts.

6

21 Aug 2026 12:31:00
Rumour has it that Minteh wants the move with Liverpool set to up their offer.

8

21 Aug 2026 13:21:56
Minteh wants to move from BHA to LFC.

That's a rumour I can completely believe.

32

21 Aug 2026 13:27:08
Long term, this would be a good signing if we pull it off and, in my opinion, all the people throwing their toys out the pram about it will look very silly. Minteh is the exact kind of winger Iraola has had success with. Fast, direct, aggressive and good in 1v1 duels. He lacks end product right now for sure, but at the same age, Salah scored 5 goals in the Swiss Super League for Basel, so it's more about what the scouts believe Iraola can get out of him in terms of increased output.

As a side note, I think we'll surely see Chiesa and Elliott leave if we sign Barcola and Minteh as well as keeping Koumas.

31

21 Aug 2026 13:27:22
Just feels like the FSG era is fizzling out and we're just basically waiting for the Take-Over.

£60m on a Salah replacement who's got 3 goals all last season is just depressing.

If we really want him, just sign him in January.

He's out injured for 3 months anyway.

Our season was over in November last year. I just don't see the point in signing players who are gonna miss a third of the campaign, chucking this new manager right under the bus already.

26

21 Aug 2026 13:37:59
To be fair, if Minteh didn't want to move from Brighton to Liverpool, I'd be quite worried about his ambition as a football player.

Be a great move for him. I like him, agree with the posts that he's not done enough to warrant the money, but the money is mental, and, given Isak and Ekitike's profiles, we might not need as heavy of a reliance on goalscoring wingers. He definitely brings pace... I'll admit, I was a bit unsure at the time as to whether we were overpaying for both Mane and Salah, particularly Mane, and, by God, did he prove me wrong, 60mil now is probably 30/35mil then so seems about fair.

Injury wise, not ideal, but again, you don't sign players for a couple of months. I'd have slightly bigger concerns about his injury record, while I can't claim to be an expert on him, I believe he's been injured a decent amount over past few seasons. (Happy to be proven wrong, though.) Very hard for wingers to just pick up momentum after constant injuries as well, one thing we underappreciated with both Mane and Salah was how available they were all the time.

Anyway, happy to see new bodies, whoever they decide on, and hopefully Iraola can work his magic!

4

21 Aug 2026 13:41:39
Don't sign injured players. This rarely works out.

You don't spend £50m+ on an injured player.

16

21 Aug 2026 13:42:10
@LiverpoolFC8, we aren't trying to replace Salah's goals though. Iraola plays using his wingers to create for the cf so we are looking for someone more likely to create chances for Isak / Ekitike.

If your mentality is that you'll be depressed unless we replace Salah's goals, you were always gonna be disappointed, because there is not currently a winger in world football that can replace Salah's Premier League output.

26

21 Aug 2026 13:50:06
I'm not excited by any means, and the injury is a concern, but with the way the market is going he could very well be a 100m right winger in 2 years.

1

21 Aug 2026 14:03:35
Wirtz and Isak are the Salah replacements.
Barcola too, if we get him to a degree.

This will most likely be laughed at, but Minteh is a better complement to those 3 than a player like Olise.

We need a balancing act with those 3 and I feel like Minteh does that. Speed, hard work, defends well, good dribbler. And pretty solid at everything else without being amazing at them.

11 stars rarely works. You need the workhorses that don't have egos to do the dirty work. I'm very ok with Minteh from a team/squad balancing perspective and confident there's enough there on the ball to do a very solid job also.

If he goes up a level on the ball he could be a superb fit but I think he is already at a good level.

The fact he would come injured really is annoying. But he will hopefully be here for far longer and he is not that injury prone otherwise. Gives Munoz/Rio/Koumas chances to shine before that. Could end up an astute buy in my book. I know I'm probably in the minority but I almost like the signing.

28

21 Aug 2026 14:06:22
Absolutely detest anyone trying to compare players to Salah. You will never ever get his numbers in the last what 9 years again from a wide forward, it just won't happen and it's impossible to replace that output, he was a freak. The club are obviously trying to move in a different direction and get fast pace wingers so Isak and Hugo get the goals.

15

21 Aug 2026 14:07:30
So we're ignoring goals, and you wanna concentrate on creating chances, fair enough.

Minteh: 4 assists in 34 games last season.

It's not good enough no matter which way you wanna spin this. It's a terrible signing.

11

21 Aug 2026 14:18:54
No, LFC8. Klopp's team was set up in a way to compliment Salah's skills. Salah was poor when Slot changed the system last year - the system didn't make the best use of his skills. AI's set up will be different than Slot's, and the way we play will suit Minteh's skills, one of which is setting up chance# for the CFs - Isak, Eki or Munoz - rather than him scoring the vast majority of goals.

Minteh will suit the new system - a system that wouldn't have relied primarily on Salah.

10

21 Aug 2026 14:28:40
He's injured for 8 weeks for Christ's sake. We need fast, hardworking wingers, of which he is one. Needs to improve his output, but I can see the thinking behind it. Would rather Mbaye myself, but I don't mind Minteh.

13

21 Aug 2026 14:31:58
MK is right here, guys.

By that logic, nobody would have signed Ronaldo. He had no end product until a good coach got a hold of him. He was about 22 before he exploded.

I'm not saying he's the next Ronaldo, just that, if he improves that aspect, we've a player on our hands.

7

21 Aug 2026 14:36:37
Minteh may be fast, and he may work hard, but his first touch is woeful and his second touch is usually a foul. He is not god enough for Liverpool, he's not even a guaranteed starter for Brighton. This smells of desperation, poor planning and lack of scouting.

7

21 Aug 2026 14:49:30
Just trying to justify the Minteh bid, and wondering if AI would like Minteh and Mbaye to play RW, and Barcola supported by Rio on the LW, a lot of money to pay out, but would give us plenty of coverage when we needed to rest players, even after 60min, such fresh and fast players could cause chaos against a tiring defence.

3

21 Aug 2026 14:49:44
Agree with MK, this will be a good signing. He is not a Salah replacement, he is a provider. Everything under AI is to get to the striker. Minteh is in the 97% for crosses into the box.

Swap Isak for Welbeck, and those assists will rocket. He gets balls into the box. He's direct and only 22. Look what AI does with his coaching of young forward players.

5

21 Aug 2026 14:51:56
Over him or Rayan, which would you prefer? 30m more say for Rayan? Not really seen much of Minteh to really have an opinion, but signing an injured player doesn't sit right with me.

4

21 Aug 2026 15:05:57
Why doesn't Iraola just keep Elliot, Chiesa and Ramsey and improve them.

Save the club a fortune.

Is this the same Minty from EastEnders?
Seriously, though, if he signs he gets my backing 100%. Too much dissing players, even before we see how they play in an Iraola Liverpool team. Trust that IA is approving these, and he knows what he is doing.

21 Aug 2026 15:20:40
Because neither of those are good enough, that's why, JK. Not that I believe Minteh is the answer either.

2

21 Aug 2026 15:22:08
Agreed, Magico. We just start off on the back foot.

Davey Sulls, Stop making deep sense! So many fans want world class talent for each position and will be quick to criticize the club for paying premium fees for them. It never works! You need to balance things up and at 21, Minteh fits the bill. Great addition for me.

21 Aug 2026 15:44:06
I don't understand why some people persist in believing that every replacement needs to be like for like. When we signed Mo and Mane, and the majority of the goals started coming from the wings, were you also complaining that Bobby wasn't as much of a scoring threat through the middle as Suarez or Torres?

4

21 Aug 2026 15:47:45
Shankly, but the defence every player gets who we are linked with is they are young and Iraola will improve them.

2

21 Aug 2026 16:02:36
I do wish people would stop talking about a Salah replacement.

The only thing we can do realistically is bring in a couple of players who can help serve the attackers better.
Mo really was one of a kind imo, I mean his numbers were unreal.

I'm not overly sold on bringing in an already jiggered player, but saying he's supposed to be a Salah replacement doesn't quite work.

21 Aug 2026 13:23:06
What rumour would that be?

21 Aug 2026 14:51:54
Sounds like a tramp from yorkshire

21 Aug 2026 15:13:27
The balls up that is Richard Hughes should have had this sorted from last season when Mo said he was leaving. Instead of faffing about last min dot com. I'd stop all transfers til January get dickie out and the next sd in to take the lead. Shambles if you ask me

LFC8, exploring your point (I don't agree, by the way, we are changing the shape of our team, and indeed the age profile of our team), who would give you a happy glow on the RW? Money no object, but I'd like to understand how you think they would help the team.

From my point of view, I completely agree that we shouldn't buy injured players, or especially loan injured players (even if they are Melo!), but we would be buying Minteh for 5+ years not just the next few weeks.

Just to clean up the point on Minteh's injury - he was injured 1 week ago with an injury that takes around 8 weeks to recover from, plus up to 4 weeks to get back up to fitness.

So, if we bought him, he would be available from mid-October (give or take a couple of weeks). So he would miss 5-8 PL games. Not 1/3 of the season or anything like that.

Overall, I would be happy with Minteh - I have been watching him (being a lesser-spotted left footed RW) for a couple of seasons as a potential RW for us. Haven't seen as much of Mbaye, but he comes with the advantage of being available right now (not in a few weeks) but the disadvantage of having no PL experience.

@ScouseJohn, Did the FA change the rules so that Hughes could talk to any agents, clubs or players wherever he wanted? None of us know what was / is happening behind the scenes, and the slagging off of Hughes is tedious.

The club have bought Marma, Woodman, Kerkez, Frimpong, Leoni, Jacquet, Ndukwe, Araujo (loan with option to buy), Wirtz, Chiersa, Ekitike, Isak, Munoz and, seemingly, Barcola, and with at least a couple more players before the end of this window, since Slot joined two years ago. That’s 14 players who would be expected to hold down places in the first team squad. It was said by the club, when Jurgen left, that there would be changes in playing staff, and this would take a number of transfer windows.

It seems to me that they are following their stated plan.

Not all of the signings have worked out - that’s life - and a couple more still have to turn their massive potential into actual performance on the field, but they are a good chance of doing so in the coming season with AI in charge.

Criticism has its place, especially if constructive, but things like name calling and calling management "the idiots who run the club" just sound like petty childishness.

Any chance we are going for both Minteh and Mbaye to rotate RW with BB and Rio on LW. Would certainly help with the amount of games we will be playing.

1

21 Aug 2026 17:35:19
He will improve players and the team, definitely. JK, but some players are just at their max level and cannot be improved. It's time to move those boys on.

21 Aug 2026 18:33:28
WDW: Hughes doesn't have to talk to any agent/ club to have a list of targets. Instead of faffing about. I haven't called anyone an idiot... yet.

21 Aug 2026 19:17:42
@LFC8, Those are his numbers in a team which doesn't create as many chances as any of the top 6. I imagine they'll be better with a couple of 100m players to pass to....

I think it's fair to say you have doubts, but we know he can handle the pace and physicality of the Premier League, and he is already settled in the UK.

Those are big factors. I know because a big part of my job is identifying player adaptation issues and helping them overcome them.

Minteh should be plug and play.

2

21 Aug 2026 21:10:43
Lol in a normal window, no one would have paid more than 40 million for Minteh.

Don't shoot the messenger.

I've just received a message from a friend who works for a major bank in France. Apparently terms and payment structure have been agreed for Barcola.

As VG said yesterday, it could be a big news day today.

47

21 Aug 2026 11:30:11
Thanks, Fields.

21 Aug 2026 11:36:14
Last time I shot the messenger, I got my posts deleted. 😂 And I'm good to avoid that.

But I can't resist.

Bang Bang. You're my third messenger shooting.

21 Aug 2026 11:38:18
Thank the lord, Fields. We are looking very thin in the squad!

4

21 Aug 2026 11:45:09
Finally!! Thanks, TF.

4

21 Aug 2026 11:59:44
Thanks, Thefields, appreciate the update.

2

21 Aug 2026 12:06:18
Cheers, Thefields.

1

21 Aug 2026 12:06:50
Hope this long saga is over today.

2

21 Aug 2026 12:07:03
Cheers, Fields...Fingers crossed an announcement today.

1

21 Aug 2026 12:05:13
Fields if we shot you how would you be able to attend another retreat

2

21 Aug 2026 12:26:47
This Barcola deal feels like the longest drawn-out transfer ever.
It feels like it has held up all our business, and the place he plays is probably our least concerning, with Gakpo, Munoz, Rio, and even Wirtz.
I hope we sign a right forward as soon as this soap opera is concluded.

5

21 Aug 2026 12:30:39
The fact 3 of the main ITKs have all spoken up in the last 24 hours. Things must be moving fast behind the scenes. Maybe the club minority sale was holding things up? 🤔

7

21 Aug 2026 12:33:05
Yes! Thanks, Thefields. Hopefully this saga is coming to an end.

2

21 Aug 2026 12:34:27
It's about time we got this one done, finally! Thanks, TF

1

21 Aug 2026 13:05:47
I don't know if anyone has said it yet, as I'm not online, but thank you to TheFields.

3

21 Aug 2026 13:06:56
Has it held up all our other business, though? We got Araujo in on loan, put in a bid for Minteh, and enquired about Mbaye while waiting for Barcola, who knows what other things are going on in the background.

6

21 Aug 2026 13:11:36
Bdog, I doubt it very much. The minority stake sale has nothing to do with the transfer staff.

1

21 Aug 2026 13:17:01
Barcola 'done deal' then?

1

21 Aug 2026 13:32:58
Simao, I don't think this deal will happen today.

3

21 Aug 2026 13:50:28
Is it a Bogof with Mbaye?!

1

21 Aug 2026 13:58:45
Can Bogof play CM?

1

21 Aug 2026 14:00:09
Razor, I wouldn't mate. 😂

Just so you know, the deal won't be complete today, not enough time for the medical, etc., and we tend not to announce signings on a weekend. It's just the finances being agreed, which should trigger news of a deal being agreed.

The Barcola deal has not held others back from being completed or worked on. A new shortlist needed to be created with all the stuff that happened earlier in the summer with Slot and Edwards leaving.

13

21 Aug 2026 14:09:34
It's Barcola plus:

A torch, a CurlyWurly, a book of stamps, a free digital watch with a denim strap, a vodka miniature, a Bic-style razor and a copy of the Daily Express. Ooooh, it's a s*** paper!

2

21 Aug 2026 15:35:04
Overpriced!

1

21 Aug 2026 16:42:13
I would never shoot the messenger.

Nor did I shoot the deputy.

3

21 Aug 2026 16:57:23
@Kaka, seems the club has a different opinion than you. Until Bezos comes knocking on your front door for a contribution to transfer fees I wouldn't worry about it.

2

21 Aug 2026 21:13:34
West Derby, we were never a club who would make such desperate moves in the transfer market. One thing I loved about LFC, specially under Klopp era, was we made smart transfer decisions, had an eye for talent, signed and scouted players who could come and become stars, rather than just buying any XYZ who did well in a farmers league.

1

21 Aug 2026 22:08:29
Kaka. Keita, Nunez, Karius, Grujic, Arthur Melo, all fit the xyz category under Klopp.

He wasn't immune to not getting every transfer right, no manager ever has been or will.

0

21 Aug 2026 22:40:53
Lol Lofty your analysis is soft as a softy.

Kieta and Nunez were the only high money signings but none of them were stars when they came in or closer to a star signing and yes they didn't live up to the expectations but both of them could have become stars had they performed to the expectation. Kieta was injury prone and lacked physicality, nunez had poor finishing but people on this website still wanted him back. The good part was we made big potential signings early in stage at good price and that showed our scouting ability and apetite for risk.

All the remaining signings you mentioned again were big potential signings and not at all expensive, grujic infact was sold for profit. BTw arthur who was on loan and was just signed last minute to have midfield cover so you completely lost your plot there.

I think Endrick is recycled old rumours.

I've heard nothing about him coming to Liverpool. He doesn't want to be sold. Madrid don't want to sell him.

But both parties would be open to a loan at the right club. I can't see that being us as both Madrid and Endrick will insist on a minimum playing time clause in the loan.

14

21 Aug 2026 06:31:12
"He doesn't want to be sold. Madrid don't want to sell him."

Well, if that's true then he definitely won't be sold, thanks for the info. 👍

6

21 Aug 2026 07:35:02
Endrick gets up late. He mucks about. And attracts enemy radar.

7

21 Aug 2026 09:14:34
His brother Jimi was some player though.

37

21 Aug 2026 11:26:03
I'll just add that I'm not sure where the rumours about bad behaviour come from. He got criticised for getting married while he was 18 or so, some people felt it was too young and ruined his focus. She has since filed for divorce and is asking for 70% of his assets, to his credit he has said nothing about it to the media at all.

He's never had any major disciplinary issues. He received one red card at Lyon which was later overturned to yellow.

Fonseca (Lyon coach) criticised him for a lack of defensive work, but the whole team was in a slump at the time, and putting the blame on a young loanee is honestly a failing of Fonseca.

6

21 Aug 2026 11:46:58
Personally, never believed the Endrick rumour.

5

21 Aug 2026 12:47:25
Baldrick wants to stay at Real and then prepare Gatorade drinks for Teenage Mutant Turtles.

0

21 Aug 2026 13:06:34
He always wants to sit at the captain's table.

0

21 Aug 2026 13:08:32
I think part of the stuff about him being a knob stems from the challenge he put in on Ibou and then his reaction after that, Nevada.

1

21 Aug 2026 13:44:42
Considering two of our biggest club legends were famous for knobhead challenges (Gerrard and Souness), I don't think Liverpool fans can necessarily moan about dirty players.

3

21 Aug 2026 21:08:35
I think Endrick's'd be a tonic for us.
