Ornstein reporting that Wirtz favours a move to us assuming we can agree a deal with Leverkusen!

According to Sacha Tavolieri, who reports for the Swiss edition of Sky Sport, among others, Wirtz has decided to transfer to the Reds. According to the report, the 22-year-old personally informed the FC Bayern management of his rejection today.

Ornstein reporting we've made contact with Florian Wirtz camp.

Crikey. what a signing that would be!

Lol, just realised everyone has already commented on this much further down the page! Sorry, had a long day!

2.) 15 May 2025 08:53:21
There’s no way any Liverpool fans are ever falling for this ?

The BabelCopter only just got back from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s house.

3.) 15 May 2025 09:07:20
Classic FSG/ Athletic (FSG mouthpiece ) PR.
How many times?

4.) 15 May 2025 09:19:09
More chance that anyone posting on these pages will be a Liverpool player next season than that happening. Seems like we’ve got our Bellingham/ Caicedo/ Zubimendi type sorted out early.

5.) 15 May 2025 10:10:36
Once again, the faith in the club that has just won the PL knows no bounds.

The lad might well sign for Bayern Munich but you can’t (or should I say ‘shouldn’t’) blame the club for at least trying.

@Vic, I see the effects of yesterday’s positive pills has worn off.

6.) 15 May 2025 10:53:14
The lack of faith is from other pointless and fruitless pursuits of so called big name players, including, but not limited to, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Caicedo, Zubimendi. Joining the party late after others have already done the legwork (ie Bayern and City) is only likely to end one way.

Plus, it makes absolutely no sense spunking £100 million plus on a floaty number 10 when there are other more pressing issues. Can’t help feeling the story is being put out there as a distraction, as I can’t see that there is any real intent or possibility of actually signing the player.

7.) 15 May 2025 12:09:22
A floaty number 10! The lads just turned 22 and is a fantastic player who can play in several positions. He'd be a brilliant addition to the team and adds goals and assists and can be the difference against low block teams! Unlikely we get him, but can't believe anyone's against getting him!

8.) 15 May 2025 12:30:20
The top players are more difficult to get purely because they have lots of options and let’s be honest with ourselves here, as much as we all love Liverpool there are more attractive places in the world to live.

So if we do go for top players it stands to reason that our success rate will be much lower than if we go for lesser known players.

Does that mean we shouldn’t bother trying? Or worse, we should all criticise the club for not getting these deals done and claim they are duping us in some way.

We should aim high, it won’t always work but we should definitely try.

I quote the great American football coach Vince Lombardi ‘Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence’.

9.) 15 May 2025 13:10:46
Mad how people expect every approach for a player to be successful - like it’s impossible to say no.
Zubimendi chose not to come to Liverpool the week Liverpool was on fire due to race riots. Do you think that might have made an impact?
Bellingham and Tchouemani went to the biggest club in the world - the big weirdos.
Caicedo went to Chelsea for more money and lives in London, which is a big deal for wives and family etc.

It’s not like they said “nah, I’m off work on the Ferries rather than play for Liverpool”.
I’m also fairly certain two of them might regret their choices.

Hi Ed,

Have you heard any whisperings at all from the club with regards to "The 3".

Just hoping you might be able to bring a bit of light to a disappointing week!

No worries if not, I suppose it should be a good thing that nobody knows anything and most are just guessing. Just a bit surprised that there's been nothing agreed one way or another yet.

Really buzzing about the title being within touching distance but it feels to me that the shine has been taken off of what excitement I should have because of the uncertainty with the contracts and I'm still staggered nothing has been sorted out!

Pleeeeaasseee. Give me some encouragement :-)

Appreciate anything you've got, I know you're a very busy man! (What I wouldn't give for an ED002 RTFP right now)

2Shoes

{Ed001's Note - I would be very surprised if there is any kind of movement during the international break while both Virgil and Salah are away mate.}

1.) 19 Mar 2025 12:13:19
I genuinely feel we are not going to hear anything about any of them until the league is finished, but I would expect us to hear quite quickly after that (so, I'd guess by end of May) .

I do not share other's fears that all 3 are off as a result of hearing nothing so far.

We know none of them have signed pre-contracts with any other club as I doubt that would have been kept under wraps.

So I remain optimistic that we will keep at least 2 of them - based on nothing other than gut feel!

Of course tabloid websites, which we all pooh-pooh when they link us with positive stories (Mbappe, Lewandowski, Alonso as manager, Alonso as player coming back to us, Bellingham etc) should also be pooh-poohed when it comes to Salah's off here, or VVD's off there type stories.

I intend to enjoy the next few weeks, hopefully crowned with no 20, and then see what happens.

2.) 19 Mar 2025 13:01:58
I think it’s highly unlikely all three will sign. If they had there wouldn’t be much point in keeping that quiet.

So that makes you think at least one of them hasn’t and they aren’t revealing the others not to put pressure on that. They could obviously all be going and the logic will still be the same.

I think we will find out as soon as (hopefully) the league is wrapped up because if any of them are leaving they will want to give them a send off at anfield as part of the (hopefully) celebrations.

3.) 19 Mar 2025 13:49:01
I reckon we’ve made our offers and they’ll wait until the end of the season to see if any other offers blow ours out of the water. None of them know what they want until it’s offered to them.

4.) 19 Mar 2025 12:28:06
Really appreciate the reply Ed, I know you're getting bombarded with questions (and I did see that you'd answered at least two or three times recently about Trent after I posted so apologies for the continued questions)

Just keeping fingers crossed at the moment. Must be tough for Slot to be constantly asked about these things and the club just keep letting him have to answer the questions. Just get the contracts sorted one way or another, make an announcement and then the media can go and look for another story!

{Ed001's Note - that would have been the sensible way to deal with it.}

5.) 19 Mar 2025 13:53:30
V interesting ed1 the other day when this topic came up that u still felt all 3 would resign, particularly trent as the general consensus is he's gone don't think I've seen 1 other person bar yourself think there chance he will stay. Hopefully u are proven right, don't think he will myself but I'm only guessing.
I'm losing faith in vvd+ salah staying now as well, I'm thinking if it going to be sorted it would've been. Hopefully u right as give us great chance next season if we could add 3r4 along with the 3 staying.

{Ed001's Note - I can see what you are saying, but the fact they have not announced they are joining anyone else yet surely has to be a good sign?}

6.) 19 Mar 2025 14:17:00
OK- genuine question, since we're talking about this again. What if all three sign two year extensions. Would you then be happy if we sold them on next year for a fee, or are we going to have to go over all this again in two years when the recruitment team are again 'failures' for letting our three biggest assets leave on a 'free'?

7.) 19 Mar 2025 14:42:32
Stoneage, we want to sign them to play. Mo should retain resale value to Saudi, should he wish to play there and we could put a buy out clause in his contract, which might detract European rivals but protect us should his form drop off the edge of a cliff.

With regards trent I think if we offer to make him caption he will stay but then I don’t know what that would mean for VVD…. I ultimately hope all three stay, otherwise there is massive pressure this summer to address the gaps left by them but also strengthen other areas.

8.) 19 Mar 2025 14:53:09
I agree i'd love Trent to stay, but any hint of offering him captain would be lunacy.

He is just not captain material at the moment (not saying he cannot become it) . To offer a player such a position just to appease them into a new contract, i am not a fan at all of that being anywhere near the contractual table.

9.) 19 Mar 2025 15:40:46
If we gave Salah and VVD both 3 year deals and they performed at the world class level they have been for about a decade then dropped off in the 3rd year I’d be happy with it. We’ve got our moneys worth a hundred times over with what they’ve given us and I feel like if they decline a year into say a 3 year deal we could still get good money from Saudi. That league almost feels like a get out of jail free card they’ll throw money at big names.

10.) 19 Mar 2025 19:59:51
Yes I suppose that true ed1,take it as positive anyway! Really and truly what are club messing about with vvd+ salah over contract length for? they both fit as fiddles and play more minutes than 95% of the squad and hardly ever injured. If salah form fell off a cliff all u would have to do is drop him for 5/ 6 games and he would be looking a transfer, no way he would sit on bench. Bloody lunacy on clubs behalf.

Morning Eds,

Apologies for asking (as I know it's probably still quite raw with Ed002 no longer with us to answer our transfer questions)

Ed001, will you now be our "go to" ed for info on who we're looking at and were you or the other eds given any info from Ed002 prior to his passing as to who/ where the info comes from so that we're able to be kept up to date?

With that in mind, do you have any insights as to who we're currently looking at? I know ideally a midfielder but anyone you've heard we're interested in?

Would love Baleba and Inacio (Summer if not now? )

Thanks in advance and as always, really appreciate the time and effort all of you eds put in :-)

2Shoes

{Ed001's Note - Ed2 was the go to for info and without him there will not be the same amount of info available, sorry.}

1.) 06 Dec 2024 12:06:18
No worries, I thought I'd ask. Thanks for the response anyway. Hopefully we'll still get the same great insight but with less. RTFP's!

2.) 06 Dec 2024 14:15:17
Unfortunately it will never be the same again. The knowledge and contacts ed002 had can’t be matched. My thoughts are with his family.

3.) 06 Dec 2024 18:34:39
Difficult times my thoughts are with you Eds1.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Ace.}

4.) 06 Dec 2024 20:27:21
No problem Ed001, we can all wonder and dream together. Thanks in advance for whatever info you do manage to share.

{Ed001's Note - cheers Wokka.}

5.) 07 Dec 2024 00:38:46
Been off for a while but just noticed the messages about ED2 not o their site anymore.
Is everything ok?

{Ed001's Note - he passed away mate.}

6.) 07 Dec 2024 10:40:05
I think Ed002 left us with enough info as not to believe the click bait sites . we will have to be more patient n read between the lines . I for one will not be jumping out my seat when the media say we want this player n that player.

7.) 09 Dec 2024 09:10:28
Surely time for Macca to step up ?.

Interesting that he hasn't been heard from since. I know it's a rumours site but if you get something so spectacularly wrong you deserve to get mocked.

2.) 12 Jun 2025 19:32:07
He’s flying Ryanair, so it’s anyone’s guess what airport he’ll end up at.

3.) 12 Jun 2025 20:25:41
Florian's wife, Di, booked his flight.

4.) 12 Jun 2025 20:35:34
Good one, Rigsby. It would work better if he was married!

5.) 12 Jun 2025 22:00:43
Rigsby, respect, Di Wirzt, or divert.

I bow to your word play.

Fingers crossed for David Villa!

I have a sneaky feeling we are going to be disappointed.

2.) 02 Jun 2025 16:12:57
7th June or 7th July?

3.) 02 Jun 2025 16:40:33
Sorry, yes 7th June!

No chance I'll be able to wait until 7th July!

4.) 02 Jun 2025 16:52:43
I don’t know if it’s relevant. But we’re now favourites at all the bookies to sign Gyokeres.
I personally don’t think he fits, nor do i think he improves us much. But i suppose since every Manc has pinned their hopes n dreams on him it’d be quite funny more than anything.

5.) 02 Jun 2025 16:53:33
Meeting is 7th June. Not the decision.

6.) 02 Jun 2025 16:54:41
You think it's Villa, then it turns out to be N'Gog.

7.) 02 Jun 2025 17:03:28
Rashford?

8.) 02 Jun 2025 17:07:51
Do you think Simao could do a job up front in a fluid front three.

Could be arda turan. Major Liverpool fan.

9.) 02 Jun 2025 17:13:44
It’s Sean dundee, I knew he was world class.

10.) 02 Jun 2025 17:20:56
I’d be surprised given age and likely price tag. But world class surprise no one is talking about could be Lauturo Martinez?

Would be perfect as a Slot forward IMO.

11.) 02 Jun 2025 17:31:05
Bendtner.

12.) 02 Jun 2025 17:31:48
Arda Guler, young Turk, still not getting much of a look in at Real Madrid?

13.) 02 Jun 2025 17:33:19
Are we finally going to get Shearer? That’d be a kick in the teeth for ole whisky nose.

14.) 02 Jun 2025 17:38:47
Mad Erik Meijer ?.

15.) 02 Jun 2025 17:59:36
Stephen Caulker?

16.) 02 Jun 2025 19:14:21
Oh, and Lineker doesn't currently have any work commitments.

17.) 02 Jun 2025 21:20:33
Could we ACTUALLY have a reveal, like a baby shower?

If the confetti is black and white, it's Isak, if it's blue it's Osimhen (Napoli not Gala! ), blue and red for Barcola etc?

18.) 02 Jun 2025 22:10:35
I’ve heard we’ve been scouting a player from the Saudi league. Assume it’s a mix up as can’t think of anyone there who’d be good enough or affordable? Any ideas?

19.) 03 Jun 2025 00:33:36
Arda guler started 14 games, got subbed on 14 games and was unused sub in 10 games, meaning he was in all 38 game squads this season in the league. He still only 20 years old, I wouldn't say he's not getting a look.

01 Jun 2025 16:46:51
Kelleher to Brentford done.

Wish him all the best, really nice lad and done well when he's stepped in. Glad he'll be No 1 somewhere else. Linking back up with Van Den Berg.

Good luck Queef!

2.) 01 Jun 2025 17:29:44
Thats how his name is pronounced Semi. Good lord ?.

3.) 01 Jun 2025 17:48:39
Sorry, ASB, it's not- correct pronunciation is Key-veen.

{Ed025's Note - Kevin..

4.) 01 Jun 2025 18:17:42
Do you know what a queef is? It's the noise made by escaping air, a lady emits from her front bottom after a vigourous session.

5.) 01 Jun 2025 18:47:40
I think, Ed25 is correct. it's Irish for Kevin as I read that somewhere in the past.

Well best of luck, Kev. You did us proud and hats off to the club for respecting his wish and not price him out of a move.

6.) 01 Jun 2025 18:53:40
Queef ? love South Park.

7.) 01 Jun 2025 21:17:30
ASB my parents are Irish and that's not how you pronounce his name! :)

8.) 01 Jun 2025 21:54:52
Name pronounced differently in Ireland ASB, up north, where I live, it is pronounced Key-ven, down South, where he is from, it is pronounced Quee-ven.

HI Ed,

Quick question (if you don't mind answering?

I know we need a left food centre back and ideally a left back as well along with a midfielder but not sure if anyone has asked your preference on a new striker should Jota and or Nunez leave by the summer?

I like Danns but he's obviously still young and I think would be a great option to have off of the bench but who would you be looking at in that position, if you had a choice?

Thought I'd ask as I'm getting bored of scrolling through the very tedious and repetitive posts about contracts and disappointed fans who wonder why we're not signing everyone and their mother! (Not quite sure how you and the Eds manage to deal with the barrage of crap on a daily basis)?

2Shoes

{Ed001's Note - Cunha.}

1.) 17 Jan 2025 12:54:09
Christ, my grammar was awful. I'll blame the stupid handset I was using!

Yeah I like Cunha, I didn't realise he was a centre forward and thought he was more of a winger! I wouldn't be opposed to that!

Fingers crossed we make so good moves both in and out in the coming 6 -8 months and sort those bloody contracts out!

2.) 17 Jan 2025 14:56:15
Cunha is a beast, I’ve actually watched quite a bit of wolves this year and he is always a stand out performer for them! I think he would thrive in our team and although I think he plays quite a bit in that 10 position he has all the skills and attributes to be out No9. Do you think we have any genuine intent for the player or is it wishful thinking, you would assume that with Nunez almost out the door whether it’s Jan or June we are scouting for a replacement and he must be featuring heavily? I was surprised to see Macca state that we could look to Osimhen if Nunez goes when Cunha is Premier league ready and would surely cost a similar fee with lower wage demands?

{Ed025's Note - Cunah has stated that he wants to fight the good fight with Wolves this season Dow-ney so maybe summer seems the best bet for him to move mate, mind you if the money is right that could all change i suppose..

3.) 17 Jan 2025 15:49:46
Would him and Mbueno be a good option to replace Jota/ Nunez as well as fill the Salah void should he go?

I'm refusing to get excited at all about Isak yet until I see a couple of sales and some money generated as it seems we'll be unlikely going for him unless we generate some dosh coming in.

Fingers crossed we can find a home for Darwin and Co and have enough come in that we can approach Newcastle with a good offer.
