Happy transfers deadline day everyone.
This is my first time posting despite being a regular follower since the football-rumours days prior to their being specialist pages for each club (has to be over 15yrs) .
Just had to register to express my delight at the signing of Chiesa - what a potentially awesome player to sign on what is a very modest fee in today's market. In my 30+ years supporting the club I don't think I can remember having such quality in depth in the attacking third, we really do have 6 quality options up top. Early indications are that Slot is a very proficient coach, although I don't envy him having to keep all 6 happy. With the new Champs League format it looks like the whole squad will get their chance this season.
Finally, I just want to thank all of the Ed's for their efforts, particularly at this time of the year. For the majority of reader's your time and efforts are greatly appreciated and long may it continue.

Chiesa. What a refreshing signing and what a happy fella. I've never seen a new player look so happy. If he can stay injury free I can see him becoming a huge success and a massive fan favorite.

Was excited before but even more so now that is has even made you comment after 15 years! Love the enthusiam of fellow reds.

I am so ridiculously excited by the lad. Been a fan of him for years. I think we were interested in him a few years back and it was either nonsense or didn’t work out. Regardless, I was gutted. I truly believe we have something special here. (Even coming from the italian league)

Like many of us, Yes, I wanted a CDM, and I am struggling to see how the club feels it’s supporting a new manager who has to follow the great man, but not giving him more than one player, while allowing at least 7 fringe squad players to leave. With more games this season. EDS… I wonder if the only reason for this is to allow wage bill space to give Virg, Mo and Trent uplifted extensions that will keep them. There has to be some logic here.

Or the right players are not available and Slot wants to properly assess the riches at his disposal.
Jones, Darwin, Dom, Grav and a few others have a lot to prove for different reasons, so let's give them a chance to shine.
CB does concern me, but SVDB refused to stay as a rotation player when he likely would have got a fair few games this season.

I think signing Rodrygo Goes makes a lot of sense particularly with his ability to cover the front 4 positions - definitely a Slot type player.
