Any truth to the rumour that Kai Havertz has been visiting Melwood with the view to join?

Gingerlfc

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any visit and if there has been I have no doubts at all that Bayer Leverkusen would complain to FIFA if Liverpool has made another illegal approach for a player - one who signed a long-term contract in the summer and is not for sale.}

1.) 09 Nov 2017 17:04:44
Apparantly Leverkusen allowed the visit to take place.

{Ed002's Note - That would be truly astonishing given he has only recently signed a new contract and he is not for sale.}

2.) 09 Nov 2017 17:44:51
Him signing a new contract could be just be Leverkusen protecting an asset but if you say he's not for sale then fair enough.
Thanks for your opinion.

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what you are talking about. What makes you think Bayer Leverkusen agreed to this - and who accompanied him?}

3.) 09 Nov 2017 18:32:22
I'm talking about about a rumour that Kai Havertz visited Melwood with Leverkausens permission. Apologies if that was not clear from my previous posts.
I have no idea who accompanied him.

{Ed002's Note - who has said Leverkusen gave their permission?

4.) 09 Nov 2017 19:14:23
Nothing but sass from Gingerlfc, offt.

5.) 09 Nov 2017 19:13:37
I believe it is from an article from Football Whispers written by Sam McGuire Ed002. Here is where he says it.
"Havertz signed a new five-year deal at the BayArena in July but it appears as though this was more to protect his value after the Bundesliga side granted him permission to visit Merseyside"

{Ed002's Note - Maybe Liverpool will be letting Ben Woodburn have a look around the Arsenal training centre at London Colney?}

6.) 09 Nov 2017 21:23:00
Abit bitter there Ed.

{Ed002's Note - Try not to be a cretin.}

7.) 09 Nov 2017 21:43:40
Strange,

Ask if there's any truth.
Get a pretty strong indication that there isn't
Then argue against the answer.

Fair play to ed002 for giving his informed opinion 🤝.

8.) 09 Nov 2017 21:51:48
Big prospect but he's at a good club for his early development he should stay for at least 2 more years, that is of course only if no other club would steal him in the iterim in which case you would have to act.

All hearsay anyway.

Ed2 chill man.

9.) 09 Nov 2017 21:54:59
How can anyone even believe this rumour. Why would Leverkuson allow a contracted player to visit another side. It makes no sense it would be blatant tapping up.

10.) 09 Nov 2017 22:09:51
Load of rubbish, probably from a social media site or a click bait link, ooo it's getting to that time again, silly time, almost January.

11.) 09 Nov 2017 22:18:39
Sam Mcguire is reporting it. He's got very good sources and his info is normally spot on.

12.) 09 Nov 2017 23:19:51
Again apologies.
I was under the impression that this was a rumours site.

{Ed001's Note - you seem to be missing the point, it is not for people to spread crap, it is for the crap to be debunked. If you want to read clickbait trash then this is not the place.}

13.) 10 Nov 2017 06:16:03
From what I can find on the web, the fact that Leverkusen allowed the visit to take place is a direct quote from the This is Anfield site, who themselves have put it in quote marks. Not referenced to anyone particular at Leverkusen, so it could've just been a random punter who said that!

No idea how reliable that site is nowadays, but it also suggests that Havertz met with Gerrard, Klopp and Couts, and that we are also courting Goretzka for a summer move on a free.

14.) 10 Nov 2017 09:22:39
Why some people have to be so aggressive? I have no idea if true or not but it's being reported on few places and worth asking.

I don't think there's anything wrong in asking personally, asking here shows you respect opinions of those here.

I guess you got your answer though.

15.) 10 Nov 2017 09:52:22
I asked a question about a rumour I had heard about from a coupla different sources.
I then went on to explain a bit more, from what I had heard.
Evidently from your attitude you seem to have some sort of problem with that.
I’m not sure that’s the most conducive way to engage with your posters.
Thanks for your time.

16.) 10 Nov 2017 17:45:43
Aside from everything else: Coutinho's trying to leave the club and may have taken to feigning injury. Strikes me as unlikely that we'd wheel him out to meet a new recruit.

17.) 11 Nov 2017 07:29:47
The way Coutinho's career is ending at LFC reminds me of what happened to Torres.

04 Jan 2016 00:14:25
Eds, I know you's have previously mentioned a possibility of Allen leaving in Jan. Chris Bascombe now stating this also.
What I'm wondering is would he be replaced from outside or would a youngster simply fill his slot? I understand Grujic is signing but being loaned out again so if Allen leaves we'd be a player light especially in the middle of this current injury worry.
Have we another midfielder in our sights?

Not really an Allen fan so can see why he needs to go.

Gingerlfc

{Ed001's Note - surely you have answered your own question?}

1.) 04 Jan 2016 05:32:37
Rossiter and Brannagan can fill in for Allen till the end of the season. We also have Grujic joining in the summer, so Allen's already been replaced.

2.) 04 Jan 2016 08:14:15
Thanks for all your help there, I really appreciate it.

26 Nov 2015 11:34:08
Tonight's teams I'm reliably informed will be.
Migs, Clyne, Toure, Lovren, Moreno, Milner, Lucas, Allen, Ibe, Benteke, Firmino.

Gingerlfc

1.) 26 Nov 2015 12:17:26
Dissapointed to see no youth at all - would much prefer to give Branagan another game over Allen.

2.) 26 Nov 2015 12:52:27
Crucial Ibe gets a good game tonight. His width should compliment Benteke.

3.) 26 Nov 2015 12:56:36
Qualify then give youth an opportunity.

4.) 26 Nov 2015 12:57:37
But will his crosses compliment benteke? His final delivery has been poor so far, hope he improves in this area and proves me wrong!

5.) 26 Nov 2015 13:13:34
If we win today, we qualify for the next phase with a game in hand, and Klopp can put in the kids for the last game if needed.

6.) 26 Nov 2015 13:57:01
'Qualify then give youth a chance'. Very similar sentiments to the dual paradox of 'you can't risk youth when you're fighting for a title' coupled with 'if you're losing you can't put the pressure on youth to turn it around'.

Play youth when its sensible to. Like when you're other midfield option is the terminally ineffective Joe Allen.

7.) 26 Nov 2015 14:41:32
Think ibe will be on the left, milner will be on the right supplying benteke crosses.

8.) 26 Nov 2015 15:23:28
If we qualify tonight, won't we want to avoid a champions league team and try and win the group?

9.) 26 Nov 2015 23:07:53
As I said, Ibe has terrible distribution, oh well, good result though, also firmino had a shocker after how well he played at city!

12 Jun 2015 10:28:42
Eds, any further info on Aubameyang???
I think he could be a really good fit for us and not cost a fortune but unsure of his availability???
Thanks

Gingerlfc

{Ed001's Note - he would want Champions League.}

1.) 12 Jun 2015 11:58:23
Ed, now that Dortmund don't have any Euro football would he "settle" for Europa league?? Would it be a case of CL or nothing?
Thanks

{Ed001's Note - it really depends on what offers are on the table. We have not shown any interest so the question is a bit pointless really.}

2.) 12 Jun 2015 12:38:11
He can have CL football the following season, top 4 here we come! BOGDAN,!!

3.) 12 Jun 2015 12:52:00
He is happy to move to Milan, who doesn't have CL, so every chance he could come if we look to bring him in.

{Ed001's Note - but Milan are selling the hope of future CL qualification, we are selling a club in 'transition' without a coaching staff set up that makes sense.}

4.) 12 Jun 2015 13:46:49
This is a depressing scenario. Talk about a club just treading water for the last 20 years.

5.) 12 Jun 2015 19:15:11
Ed001 - I understood from previous posts that we were interested in him. Has that interest now gone?

{Ed001's Note - shelved rather than gone. Once the Kovacic deal has been finalised then maybe we will revisit the idea, hopefully, but it is impossible to say now.}

6.) 12 Jun 2015 19:41:56
Aubameyang creates so much space for himself and others with his pace. A constant worry for oppositions. Back that up with service from Coutinho, Lallana and Kovacic and we've got ourselves a pretty serious looking attack.

I'm a massive Dortmund fan and his movement is really intelligent and because of his pace it is very difficult for opposition to defend with a high line which in turn would suit our pressing game to a tee. Pace and power is so important in modern english football. I'm getting excited about next season :D

06 Aug 2014 14:29:42
Eds, is there any truth in these new Lavezzi rumours?
Seems quite old at 29 for us to be paying approx £18mil.

Gingerlfc

{Ed002's Note - Lavezzi is available - I am not aware of any bid from Liverpool.}

1.) 06 Aug 2014 22:27:06
i don't think this will happen.

i think FSG will only pay this sort of money to younger players. they've been quite explicit about that. resale value or at least 5-6 years of action

With rumours that Newc and Burnley are prepared to offer circa £10mil for Philips would anyone have any further info on whether this is accurate and are we prepared to sell for around this price?
My immediate reaction is that we might be able to get a little more or put on an add one clause.

Gingerlfc

1.) 15 Jun 2021 23:28:59
Nat Phillips was born to play under Sean Dyche. It is written in the stars and every holy scripture from Bootle to Jerusalem.

2.) 15 Jun 2021 23:47:53
Think he’s worth more than 10 million.

When you hear stories of the Notts forest CB (Worrall I think? ) being valued over 15 million and he’s inferior to our nat!

3.) 16 Jun 2021 06:09:14
Personally I would keep him as a proven and homegrown back up as opposed to Matip despite the latters quality when fit and on form. WHEN being the key and decisive word there for me. That said Klopp loves Joel so if Nat isn’t going to play at all best to say thank you by securing him a deserved move to a decent club where he can play regularly regardless of income for ourselves.

4.) 16 Jun 2021 06:25:11
I'd keep Nat for a season as a security blanket until VVD and Joe are back to full fitness and recovered 100% from their injuries.

5.) 16 Jun 2021 06:55:00
£10 million does feel a tad cheap, but if that is the price on offer and the club are happy to accept then it is what it is.

6.) 16 Jun 2021 06:55:48
Agree, Buzzer. Gomez and VVD won't be back to their best for a while and Konate and Matip have had recent injury issues too. Nat has been one of the players of the season and we need to keep him in case we have another situation where are best 3 CBs are in the treatment room. he's not guaranteed to start when everyone is fit but he's a fine back-up and a better option than Fab or Hendo.

7.) 16 Jun 2021 07:14:58
If Michael Keane, James Tarkowski and Tyrone Mings are worth upwards of £20m, then I think we should ask the same as he’s at least as good as any of those. Personally I’d keep him as he’s earned his shot.

8.) 16 Jun 2021 08:00:01
£10 million wouldn't cover the amount of walls we need to rebuild around the training ground! Easily double that.

9.) 16 Jun 2021 08:46:44
Not sure that Maguire offers anything more than Nat so what does that mean for Nat’s transfer value?

I think Klopp trusts Nat to do his job and Nat has developed really pretty impressively over the season.

Nat is a great squad option for us.

10.) 16 Jun 2021 09:19:52
I know we all want to get a fair price for our players, but you have to put Phillips price into context.

VVVV you mention Keane, Tarkowski and Mings - they have 80-200 appearances for top flight clubs under their belt, Phillips has £125m for Couts. If we see £10m for Phillips as decent enough value not to keep him, then I guess we need to be happy with that.

Personally, I would keep him as I think he has a role to play in 21/ 22 whilst VVD/ Gomez get back to full fitness and Konate settles into the team. I'd then sell next season if Nat wanted more first team appearances.

11.) 16 Jun 2021 09:22:30
If Liverpool need the money, and it helps get a midfielder in, he has to go.
I estimated he’d be worth in the region of £10-15m a few months back, so this valuation is in that range.
His, and Klopp’s, call though. I’m cool with any decision made because he did enough to stay if it’s an option.
He would be gambling on his own playing time though.

12.) 16 Jun 2021 09:46:40
I think some of my message dropped out!

I meant to say - "Phillips has.

13.) 16 Jun 2021 09:58:19
hahaha!

14.) 16 Jun 2021 10:01:14
I'd be gutted if we sold him. It just seems to make too much sense to keep him, HG and cost us nothing.

15.) 16 Jun 2021 10:37:28
I’d keep Phillips and move matip on simple as that. I know matip is good defender but made of glass and high wages it makes no sense keeping him matip and selling Phillips.

16.) 16 Jun 2021 15:15:48
10m for Nat Phillips? They must be having a laugh. Tarkowski is for sale at around 40m and he is barely better than Nat, IMO. They can jog on with such a rubbish offer.

As for Matip, Ed02 has said Klopp is not anywhere near moving him on so it will be he and Konate to start the season if VVD and Gomez are not ready yet.

Paul Joyce has confirmed Liverpool’s interest in Bellingham.
That doesn’t mean Liverpool can/ will follow through on that interest or that Dortmund is open to selling him particularly when it looks like they’ll lose Haaland next summer.

Liverpool played Ajax twice last season and Jones outshone Gravenberch in both games albeit he’s 18mths older. That’s not to say Gravenberch won’t become the better player.

I distinctly remember Mané and Firmino struggling to put away the most simplest of chances. That has nothing to do with defenders missing or midfielders playing outta position.

Jota didn’t take a while to settle in. He hit the ground running and was one of our best players early last season. His injury knocked his momentum. Don’t see how that impacts Mané and Firminos finishing ability and decision making in the final third which at times was appalling.

Yea, instead of being short/ light at the back we’re now short/ light up front. I seem to remember the front 3 struggling at least as much as our defence last season. Seems like we’re willing to gamble on this season like we did last.

If Allen was 4inches bigger and stronger he'd defo have a Liverpool future. As it stands I don't think he can consistently stand up to the physicality of this league.

Ojo, while promising, is nowhere near ready to be starting and probably even featuring in the Prem on a regular basis.
He doesn't start regularly now with the team he's at.

Bolasie does not provide loads of assists.
His goals and assists numbers are actually quite average.
Just because he continually troubles our defence doesn't mean he's great. Our defence has just been poor.
He's 26 now and not going to get a whole lot better. His end product is generally poor.

Gingerlfc

{Ed001's Note - I really don't get the love in for Bolasie. He troubles everyone, but his actual effectiveness is very low. He does some fantastic things, but usually in 99.9% of cases, he follows it up by giving the ball away.}

Markovic did start before his injury and this was his first game back, much like Sturridge being on the bench on Sat. He's very fast indeed which suggests you're either talking about a completely different player or don't know what your talking about.
The problem Markovic may have in the Prem is that he's so slight, not that that's stopped other players, but it is a disadvantage.

Gingerlfc
