First of all, a very happy new year!

I have a couple of questions for the Eds.

I have seen stories linking us to Federico Redondo (Argentinian U20 DM) . He seems well regarded in Argentina and apparently available for just £8M.

Is this a player we have looked at (presumably as an Andre alternative)?

If we have been looking at him would he get a work permit? My understanding is that it can be difficult at times when the player does not have any full caps and he is only capped at U20 level. Does the fact that he was born in Spain (presumably whilst his dad was playing for Real Madrid) change anything?

ShipleyKopite

{Ed002's Note - Federico Redondo (DM/CM) Chelsea have had the player scouted in Argentina but the player wants a move to Real Madrid, who have also sent scouts. At £8M there is little chance of a Work Permit in England. He is an Argentine citizen.}

1.) 02 Jan 2024 13:18:45
Fernando Redondos son according to Wikipedia. Injuries aside I thought he was a world class midfielder. If his son can emulate him then he's going to be some player.

2.) 03 Jan 2024 07:45:18
Ed's why are LFC not taking a punt on cheap, young Argentines like City are? Plenty of potential at cheap prices there.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Manchester City taking "punts" on any cheap young "Argentines". They are however investing significantly, as are Chelsea and PSG, in talented young players for the future.}

11 Dec 2023 11:14:48
Hi Ed's I wonder if any of you have any insight into what our plans might be for Sepp van den Berg?
I believe that he now qualifies as academy grown and from what I can tell seems to be performing well for Mainz in the Bundesliga. (he has won the second most areal duels and third most challenges in the division as well as making it into the team of the week for his performance in a 2-0 win over RB Leipzig) .
Three years away on loan has made him feel like a bit of a forgotten man.

ShipleyKopite

{Ed002's Note - He counts as Home Grown and Club Developed. However, I doubt he will get a chance at Liverpool and should look for a discussion with the club about his future.}

1.) 12 Dec 2023 08:23:29
Ed any idea if there is a recall option for ven den Berg? He'd certainly be better cover for Matip than Phillips or Williams.

{Ed002's Note - It would likely not be possible for vdB, but perhaps Rhys Williams.}

07 Dec 2023 10:05:48
With it being confirmed that Matip has ruptured his ACL and his contract being up in the summer there is a good chance that he has played his last game for us. If this is the case I wish him well. He has been a great servant for the club and will be remembered fondly.

Will this news have any effect in our January window? If we were planning to replace him in the summer anyway surely there is no downside to replacing him now instead (other than it obviously being harder to sign players mid-season) .

I am slightly concerned if we don't sign a new CB. I like Konate and I feel like most of the time he covers well when TAA steps up into midfield but it feels like he just switches off for periods in games. Last night he gifted them 2 great counter attack opportunities in the space of 2 minutes with a sloppy pass and then letting the ball run under his foot.
Gomez is probably the more solid bet defensively but we lose the dynamism of Matip/ Konate stepping into midfield and spraying a pass.

I think we now need to sign a first choice RCB to partner VVD. One who can step up into midfield and break the lines like Matip does and who has the pace and composure to cover the space at RB when it is vacated by Trent (not much to ask) .

Any of our target fit the bill Eds?

ShipleyKopite

{Ed002's Note - I don't think Liverpool will be looking to replace Konate in January but there are CBs of interest.}

1.) 07 Dec 2023 10:29:45
Thanks Ed. I wasn't suggesting that we replace Konate in January. just Matip.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect a new contract may be offered for a year.}

2.) 07 Dec 2023 15:40:26
There may be some folks who don't like the idea of Matip getting another contract - waste of money, sick note, made of crisps etc.

However, I can see the sense in that given we have Quansah who has already impressed in the first team this season and Chambers who seems to be highly regarded too.

As long as Matip realises that he will essentially be proven cover and mentoring for the kiddies, he seems a perfect fit for that role.

Quansah is 20 and Chambers is 19. Between them they would save us an average of £20-£25m each at least even if they just grow into squad players rather than first teamers. I hope that at least one of them does grow into a first teamer.

{Ed025's Note - Matip as a mentor zed?...a mentor of what exactly?...concentration lapses, turning like a tanker in the Mersey, or how to lie on a sick bed?.. :)

3.) 07 Dec 2023 15:49:04
With van Dijk, Konate, Gomez, and Quansah, I'm unsure I see the dire need for another CB. I wouldn't mind seeing someone with more reliable fitness coming in and replacing either Konate or Gomez next summer though.

What level of player are Liverpool looking at? Expensive, or more along the lines of Kabak again.

4.) 07 Dec 2023 18:26:16
Quansah unproven. Maybe he'll get more time this season to play a more prominent role. Gomez and Konate both injury prone. We need a CB in the summer. Even if Quansah makes the grade, we can't rely on Gomez and Konate to stay fit. Between them they make one good CB, not two. As for Matip, I don't see how at 32 w a ruptured ACL that we can offer him a contract. That's really unfortunate for him but this is a business.

5.) 07 Dec 2023 18:41:33
Klopp will do what he always does and what most fans fail to grasp, he will seek answers from within.
Transfer hungry fans may be disappointed again.

6.) 07 Dec 2023 19:39:45
32 never fit and on big wages. Thanks for your service but i wouldn’t even consider extending him. There looks to be some top young centre backs out there i’d be bringing in a replacement.

7.) 07 Dec 2023 20:31:29
For me, Matip should have been moved on and replaced in the summer. If there’s one part of Klopp I’m not keen on it’s his loyalty.

I think we missed a trick not going for Van de venn in the summer.

8.) 07 Dec 2023 22:36:40
You’ve just proved my point Ed025, thanks mate!

Great win for your boys tonight -gravel voice is working wonders!

{Ed025's Note - hes just what the doctor ordered Zed, its not always pretty mate but if we put that sort of effort in all the time we can beat relegation and stick it to the man, im very proud of the team..

9.) 08 Dec 2023 07:58:49
I agree with you Drogie. Van de Venn looks a very solid defender to me.

10.) 08 Dec 2023 08:21:26
Everton very very lucky that the 3 teams who came up are so poor. They have escaped once again it seems ed.

{Ed025's Note - not quite yet Marty but i think you do us disservice mate, we are a decent side and only for the 10 point deduction would be ahead of Chelsea in 10th, yes we have a limited squad but Dyche has got the team galvanized and they are giving 100% every game which as a supporter is all we can ask for..

11.) 08 Dec 2023 10:11:33
The 10 point deduction may turn out to be the stick that was needed to unite the club and have the mentality that everyone is against us…. And that could do the job and keep them up this season.

They also have the right manager to run a club that needs to fight for its survival.

{Ed025's Note - I think your spot on Tommy..

12.) 08 Dec 2023 08:59:15
@Mftonjes - the level of a player isn’t judged by expense, it’s judged by skill, ability to work hard, ability to learn, ability to lead and loads of other skills - skill and expense aren’t the same thing. Just look at the money the likes of Chelsea and Man United have spent. Maguire (him again) cost £ 80m. As a bloke standing behind me on the Kop back in the early 1980’s said about a player …. “[He’s] not worth his weight in sh#t”.

13.) 08 Dec 2023 13:57:44
Drogie
The same Micky van de Ven who's missed 22 matches/ 131 days in the last 18 months? The same Micky van de Ven who has a bang average 6.7 rating since joining Spurs?

OK.

14.) 08 Dec 2023 15:33:38
WWW, yes, obviously, but there is a big difference in expectation/ risk that comes with the price of the player. (And nobody was going to pay that price for Maguire but United. )

If Liverpool are looking to bring in a guy for 10-20M vs 30-40M vs 60-80M, it sheds some light on their current goals and strategies within the transfer market, and also internal valuation of current talent.

15.) 08 Dec 2023 20:13:27
25 - you blindly back your “best midfielder in the premier” whose name I can’t recall and we’ll back Matip ?.

{Ed025's Note - Andre Gomes faith, broke his leg and was never the same again, if i were you i would back Matip as well mate...in the donkey derby.. :)

16.) 08 Dec 2023 22:08:12
I think Matip has won it all with Liverpool. Not bad for a tanker ?.

{Ed025's Note - Djimi Traore won a champions league winners medal irish...enough said i think mate.. :)

17.) 09 Dec 2023 12:44:50
So people saying we missed a trick with van der ven, he is injured do we realise this, and quite a bad hamstring injury, we all know what happened to torres and Owen after a few of them?
Imagine if we signed him then he got this injury after 2 months, cries of another sicknote come to mind!

18.) 10 Dec 2023 00:53:33
Agree with Ed025 on traore. Even a bag of cement would have done a better job at left back. Vvd makes everyone beside him look decent.

19.) 10 Dec 2023 06:37:50
@Mftonjes, I think you are missing the point I’m trying to make. The club has said that their aim is to get the right player at the right price. Another way of looking at it is value for money. We offered over £110m for Caicedo in the summer because the club thought he was worth the money. Fortunately, he went to Chelsea …. We then offered less than £20m for Endo because that is what the club thought he was worth.

There were a few people on here that thought we had £110 m in an imaginary transfer kitty and we should have spent it on ‘someone’, ‘anyone’, but from the club’s perspective there wasn’t anybody out there worth the money that their clubs (or agents) were asking for. It may be that we sign a CB in January and he may cost a fair bit. Equally there may be a CB that the club want for less than £10m. The point is that the club (tries to) spend the right amount of money, not unnecessarily large amounts of money because fans think that makes us a ‘big’ club.

20.) 10 Dec 2023 06:42:15
What ever happened to that full back you had that you were saying was the best in the League - the French lad, Digne was it? He seems not to have quite kicked on.

21.) 11 Dec 2023 15:22:13
WWW, I wasn't really disagreeing with you at all. I'm really just here for Ed's insights, and looking for any new details on how the club are leaning in the transfer market as it sheds light into their internal evaluations of players and gives you some indication of where they may be leaning in the transfer market. I find that stuff very interesting. I wasn't really declaring what the club should do.

We are now being linked to a move for Dan Neil of Sunderland.
No idea what he is like but he is an England U20 international who plays DM.

ShipleyKopite

1.) 01 Sep 2023 12:38:21
Not a bad idea to bring in a HG midfield player with future potential. We usually surprise (positively) with purchases from the lower leagues.

I just keep wondering how and why Thiago is still with us. Another setback in his recovery, another month or two waiting for him to regain fitness. I can understand he provides experience and stability in our game, and probably why Klopp keeps him, but he hardly makes it on to the field.

2.) 01 Sep 2023 13:02:09
can i ask how you expect to sell him while he's injured.

3.) 01 Sep 2023 13:48:54
Hello Ed's. I am a big fan of this page. is this Dan Neil story true. It will be a very sensible addition.

{Ed002's Note - Dan Neil (CM/DM) Sunderland youngster Burnley are negotiating for. If Liverpool are interested it is difficult to see where game time will come from.}

4.) 01 Sep 2023 13:53:36
I think that Thiago will probably leave on a free next summer when his contract is up.

29 Aug 2023 10:05:44
Rennes apparently considering Matip as a Theate replacement.

Sounds like a good opportunity for a swap deal if you ask me.

ShipleyKopite

1.) 29 Aug 2023 10:36:29
Arthur Theate is definitely a good fit for LCB in a 3 man defence, if that is what we intend to persist with.

I am not sure about him in a two though and he's not particularly tall - which Klopp tends to like in his CBs.

2.) 30 Aug 2023 02:45:50
Klopp is not allowing Luke Chambers to go anywhere now. Wants him around the first team.

We won’t be signing or selling defenders now.

Can’t see us doing much at the moment.

Alonso taking over in the summer now that Klopp has announced that he is leaving?

Yes I pray it’s Alonso.

18 Jan 2024 14:18:05
I see the FA/ PGMOL are trying to prevent us getting to the final of the league cup by putting Simon Hooper in charge for the second leg!

I wonder how many sendings off he will invent or legitimate goals he will disallow this time!

The guy was so bad they had to change the refereeing process and he is rewarded with a cup semi final!?

ShipleyKopite

1.) 18 Jan 2024 16:06:50
Isn't it amazing that this same VAR that feels like deliberate controversies are generated around it to increase viewing of Webb and Owen show is being used seamlessly at the ongoing AFCON with no recorded controversy yet? ???.

2.) 18 Jan 2024 16:10:00
The constant moaning about referees is extremely tedious and mundane.

3.) 18 Jan 2024 20:21:08
Disagree TB2. It's hard enough pipping City to the title without losing 3-5 points from two glaring errors and having little confidence that it won't happen again. Coote Hooper and England should never ref top level games again.

4.) 19 Jan 2024 09:54:48
Spot on, RedFlyer. City are more than good enuff to win the title on their own merits and ability, end of. What we cannot have is the incompetence of the referees helping them out not by giving them decisions they don't deserve BUT by robbing their rivals of decisions they DO deserve.

5.) 19 Jan 2024 10:00:08
It really is unbelievable . There does really need to be some rules where refs have made historical mistakes, that they get suspended or at least removed from the club they impacted games. That said, I guess we would have no1 left!

17 Jan 2024 13:38:00
I see Howard Webb (and therefore PGMOL) have finally admitted that the Odegaard handball against Liverpool was a penalty.

ShipleyKopite

1.) 17 Jan 2024 14:33:53
David Coote was rewarded by being given the duties of officiating a cup semi-final! It was his first time refereeing in a big game, the commentators said.

2.) 17 Jan 2024 15:13:22
ShipleyKopite, you know it. Oh, and in other news: Gambling is legal in Vegas. That is the next piece of Webbo will have us all believe. That the Odegaard incident should have been a pen is something large majorities of fans and pundits already knew and said at the time BUT notice during and after the game, they kept saying that it was cos Odegaard slipped hence, it could not have been a pen. This is how the PGMOL and their allies in the media condition us into believing the very opposite of the what we are seeing hence, gaslighting us.

So now that Webbo has come clean 3 weeks after the fact (interesting, right? ), what's that going to do? Are they going to improve? Will Webbo put measures in place to get better training for referees to improve their perfs.? Wouldn't hold my breathe, based on the shambles we are being afflicted with on a weekly basis. So according to Webbo, it's as we were. Sound.

3.) 17 Jan 2024 17:37:36
The language he uses is just baffling to me. He said something like ‘we now realise from the feedback we’ve received that the game expects that to be a penalty’. The game expects it? What on earth does that mean?

It’s a penalty. It’s been a penalty for well over 100 years but the PGMOL have only just realised that ‘the game expects it to be a penalty’?

Like I’ve always said these officials have no idea about the game. If they need others to tell them that this was a penalty they are simply not fit for purpose.

4.) 17 Jan 2024 17:58:08
@BP, "The game expects it to be a penalty"? Wait, did he say that? Absolute porkies, man.

"We now realise from the feedback we’ve received that the game expects that to be a penalty’".

Wow, it literally gets worse with these chaps. They are relentless with their garbage and have pretty much admitted that they do not know what the rules are. I keep saying it. Us, the fans know more about the officiating rules of the game than these band of keystone cops patroling our PL pitches. Not being fit for purpose is putting it mildly, man. I would sack them all if I were in charge.

5.) 17 Jan 2024 18:11:04
Why didn't the on field officials give a penalty and then go to VAR to see if it was the right call?

6.) 17 Jan 2024 16:04:51
What I would give for Pierluigi Collina to come in right now and sort out the omnishambles that is the PGMOL.

7.) 17 Jan 2024 18:46:47
JLC - because the on-field ref decision was that it wasn't a pen.

I kinda get what Howard Webb is saying but people won't like this. The referees need a framework to base their decisions off of. The wording of the law infers that if a player falls and that naturally made their body bigger then the ref can interpret that as not a handball.

In this case the VAR clearly says that they see Odegaard slip, his hand goes to ground to break his fall and have applied that in Odegaard's favour.

Then they've said his arm has come towards his body making his body smaller. It doesn't mention this in the rules but they've applied the principle of an arm movement to make the body bigger and interpreted it in reverse, again to Odegaard's favour.

In amongst all that is what we see with our eyes how Mo beat Odegaard with skill hence Odegaard losing balance to track what would have been a run in behind the lines and ultimately we love all the advantage. So that is why "the game" are telling Howard and his robots that this was a handball.

The question for me is how to add that to the framework so that referees can apply it. I think there needs to be an additional line in there that gives the ref the freedom to infer whether all of what happened stopped a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity. Something along those lines to give them that license to apply that to the current wording.

8.) 17 Jan 2024 19:05:46
I know Oli it’s crazy how clueless these guys are. I’ve just looked up his exact words as I couldn’t remember earlier but he said ‘The feedback we got back afterwards was very clear, the game expects a penalty in this situation and I would agree. ’

But 5 of your officials thought it wasn’t a penalty so how do you explain that Howard?

Did they not realise that ‘the game’ expects a penalty to be given when someone plays basketball in the penalty area? You couldn’t make it up.

9.) 17 Jan 2024 19:30:41
Just a thought why don't they use players that have retired, they know more than these refs know?

10.) 17 Jan 2024 19:33:59
Thanks Faith. my point is about why don't officials give these decisions as handball, and then VAR will check if its correct?

I will bet anything that if the ref gave the handball, VAR would not have overturned the decision, and nobody would be talking about it today!

VAR was brought in to get the crucial decisions right, and it's failing miserably, albeit as a result of totally inept and even corrupt officials!

11.) 17 Jan 2024 20:48:33
It was never supposed to be VAR it was ARV said Phil McNulty from BBC
“My first job for BBC was to announce the new technology on X but my computer was hacked and they changed the letters around on me”
This proves it was doomed from the start and it’s all Phil’s fault.

12.) 17 Jan 2024 21:18:23
Beckers pecker Im telling you, these guys are full of it. They made a mistake and instead of coming clean, Webbo is talking absolute rubbish and incoherent dust in a bid to muddy the waters and STILL try to get away with gross misconduct for the upteenth time. Did he say what improvements will be put in place to make things better? Crickets which tells me nothing will change so it will be apologies galore till the end of the season. "Great process, boys"!

I know the likes of @Faith and @JLC are trying their best to be rational about this BUY Im sorry, I know a con artist when I see one and can smell their smelly stuff from 50 yards out. They make up the rules and as they go along and depending on the outrage the bad decisions generate. That's it, IMO. Nothing left to see yere, guys.

I bet you they will come back with some kockamame story about how Paul Tierney and VAR refused both legit goals we scored vs Burnley that they chalked off for NO reason at all. It will be interesting to know what "feedback" they got from the "game" (whoever/ whatever that is) that "expects" both goals to be legit goals.

13.) 17 Jan 2024 21:18:39
JLC - hey mate, just the first line of my earlier reply was for you. Rest of it for everyone!

But to expand on your point, we still want referees to make decisions based on what they see and then VAR is meant to then clean up the really bad mistakes.

IMO I think it is the correct approach to still allow the ref to make a decision. But where they’ve gone down a rabbit hole is the clear and obvious error bit.

14.) 17 Jan 2024 22:57:13
I've said it all along and I will continue to say it webb must he is as much use as a trapdoor in a canoe.

30 Aug 2023 11:55:33
Question for the Eds.

If we were to sign Gravenberch (as he currently seems the most likely) do you think we would consider playing a more 'total football' approach in some games? e. g. we play Endo alongside Mac or Gravenberch when we need a permanent 6 and potentially play Mac and Gravenberch as a double pivot where either can step up into the 8 position whilst the other covers the DM position?

Obviously both scenarios assume Szobo is not being rested and is playing as the 3rd midfielder.

ShipleyKopite

{Ed001's Note - the short answer is yes. But you are forgetting Jones and Elliott can figure in those positions too.}

1.) 30 Aug 2023 12:31:30
Ed001 I love Curtis Jones just like you do. When everyone is fit, do you play him over Mac or Szobo or no? Or would you change the formation to play all of them?

{Ed001's Note - I would play the three of them with Jones and Mac behind Szoboszlai having a freer role.}

2.) 30 Aug 2023 13:19:41
Thanks Ed. I'm a massive fan of both Elliot and Jones but my personal opinion is that their attacking attributes far outweigh their defensive qualities. Obviously we've not had the chance to see Jones as of yet but Elliot has looked great in the first few games as an impact sub. I just feel like Gravenberch would offer a bit more defensively stability when not playing a specific number 6.

{Ed001's Note - Gravenberch can't defend, nor is he that good on the ball. He is one of those recent Ajax graduates that are massively overrated.}

3.) 30 Aug 2023 13:47:06
There is so many games coming this season.

So many. You're talking near 50 club games maybe more or less of we go far in all comps. Which is what I want.

And we have all international superstars and captains.

Meaning it could be upwards of 60 for sob, mac, diaz, nunes, trent, vvd, robbo, Alison, endo, salah, gakpo.

Gravenberch is just more help. We get 5 substitutions now, I think. Plus he could be excellent. If its an attitude problem, he couldn't ask for a better manager than Klopp. He will cause jones and Co to step up a level. It'll help with their game and we will just get better players.

So, I'm all for it.

Plus we currently have the best midfield Klopp has ever had. The best forward thinking and technical. World Cup winner and Szob. I'm so happy.

Klopps never had a midfield this good. Let that sink in.

4.) 30 Aug 2023 14:12:14
We’re now at the “being linked with any old dross” part of the window because we left it too late and made too many bad decisions. It’s almost like we learnt nothing from last summer and the catastrophic signingof Arthur Melo or from the failures of 20/ 21, we’ll likely end up with bottom of the barrel players like Phillips or Gravenberch who’ll flop massively.

5.) 30 Aug 2023 14:20:58
Just been reported Bradley has a stress fracture in his back. Out for at least a few months.

6.) 30 Aug 2023 14:22:10
Where do you see Bajetic unlimitely fitting in Ed?

{Ed001's Note - DM.}

7.) 30 Aug 2023 15:33:17
Are we that desperate for a new toy thar we welcome spending millions on someone inferior to the young players We already have at the club?

8.) 30 Aug 2023 16:24:24
For whatever reason Klopp played Gakpo ahead of Jones. The first choice for me are the 2 signings and Baj. I do like how Elliot has performed so far of the bench though.

9.) 30 Aug 2023 18:34:04
Klopp playing Gakpo in midfield was a mistake, or at least doing so in a midfield three. It's fine dropping back from CF like Bobby did but actually starting as an 8, we weren't actually that stuck.

10.) 30 Aug 2023 18:40:32
Mark, Jones had a knock and was not fit to start vs Chelsea so he came on. He has been injured since then when he got an ankle knock in training since the CHelsea game. Just saying.

25 Aug 2023 11:02:09
Apparently we have had an offer rejected for Gravenberch.

Don't know how much truth there is to it. It seems strange for Italian media to break a story about a Dutch player and an agreement between an English and a German club.

He's not going to be making an impact in the first team in the near future. It makes sense to sell him. We will get a profit and if we think that there is a chance he will develop into a real quality player we can put a buy-back/ first refusal clause in the deal.

Yesterday TT had an article claiming an in-the-know source (i. e. a random German footballers 'feeling') says Alonso won't go to Liverpool next to an article entitled 'Next Liverpool manager: Comparing Xabi Alonso’s superb Bundesliga record with Jurgen Klopp’s'. They are covering all their bases and statistically some of them will be accurate!

As a side note they are also pushing a story about Mo having already signed a contract to play in Saudi next season.

Good luck to him. I hope he does well and the Dutch league is ready for the inverted full-back!

It's all part of the game and has been for years. As long as it stays the right side of the banter/ abuse line then just go with it.

I still smile at the memory of entire crowds singing "If Carlton Palmer plays for England, so can I".

{Ed025's Note - its all good banter and there is nothing wrong with it in my book Shipley, its even better when the player being slagged scores and shoves one right up their jaxi,s mate..

The negativity on here is amazing! It's a big game this weekend but it's just 1 game from a total of 38.

Win, lose or draw, the league won't be decided this weekend. We could be top and 4 points clear or we could be 3rd 2 points off the top - either way there will still be a quarter of the season to go and the other 2 teams will still have to play each other.

Arsenal are currently 3rd and 2 points off the top - should they be considered out of contention?

I suspect Arsenal and City fans are looking at us concerned that with 14 first team players unavailable we are still winning game after game and we are only going to get stronger as more players come back.

For me it would be a very odd choice to go to Bayern. They are currently Leverkusen's main rivals and whilst I know he would love to manage Bayern at some point you would like to think that he has more respect for Leverkusen than to jump ship directly to their main rival.

I suspect this situation is designed to be used as 'evidence' of bias when they appeal their points deduction that they will be getting in the near future.

The ref got it wrong but it is no more serious than giving a throw in the wrong way (something that happens to all teams dozens of times a match) . Our keeper got the ball and it was over 2 minutes later that we scored. Forest even had possession in that time so I can't believe that it is even being talked about as directly leading to a Liverpool goal.

How many incorrectly awarded corners, free kicks and penalties have been scored from? These are far more influential decisions but they are considered part of the game. You have a whinge and then you move on.
