Eds, Deschamps has said the Rabiot has multiple offers in the table and he needs to decide which one to take.

If this is the case do you know who has made offers?

ShipleyKopite

{Ed002's Note - Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester United, MIlan. I have answered this multiple times.}

1.) 30 Aug 2024 11:27:35
Rabiot being a free agen doesn't affect the transfer deadline also? I think I'm correct?

{Ed002's Note - There is a couple of weeks to go.}

29 Aug 2024 14:07:08
Lots of reports that the Chiesa deal is now complete!

Welcome to Liverpool!

ShipleyKopite

1.) 29 Aug 2024 14:14:45
Is he available for sunday ed02?

{Ed002's Note - If he was registered by midday.}

2.) 29 Aug 2024 14:28:53
If that’s the case we have now spent £40m in the window (give or take) and I mention thi# because, according to Sky this morning, Man City have only spent £34m in the window, to date. Does this mean that Hughes is now classed as better than his counterpart at Citeh?

3.) 29 Aug 2024 14:58:26
Thank God this window is nearly over.

4.) 29 Aug 2024 15:12:45
Let’s not excited by these signings guys. Doesn’t change the fact we need a number 6 and CB and have once again failed to address those issues.

5.) 29 Aug 2024 15:26:20
Welcome to our new number 14!

He is the 2nd in his family to play at Anfield.

6.) 29 Aug 2024 16:05:32
Welcome to the fambo Frederick church.

7.) 29 Aug 2024 17:15:07
Man City aren't playing catch up though are they?

8.) 29 Aug 2024 17:30:02
WDW3 you still don’t get the sell to buy model do you? If we win the league you can stake your moral high ground.

9.) 29 Aug 2024 17:43:04
We're also not facing 115 odd charges of cheating.
Where's the moral high ground there?

10.) 29 Aug 2024 18:04:24
We also don’t have 6 PL trophies.

11.) 29 Aug 2024 19:44:51
We also don't have an owner whose family is worth $1 trillion, as in a thousand billion.

12.) 29 Aug 2024 21:37:31
@Endo - a lot of experts on this forum have been very, very keen to impress upon the less gifted of us that if you don’t buy you don’t improve. Given City have spent less than us then surely we will improve more than City and thus narrow the gap. This must be true as I read it in a book called the Dummy’s Guide to Football - freely available at your local al Social Media outlet ….

13.) 29 Aug 2024 22:59:39
@Mark, as 6 seems to be a significant number for you, how many European. Ups have we won?

23 Aug 2024 10:59:31
We have signed a DM!

Alvin Ayman - 16y/ o for £2m from Wolves.

Big price for a youth player. hopefully he has a big future!

ShipleyKopite

1.) 23 Aug 2024 11:33:23
Ayman to that.

2.) 23 Aug 2024 11:35:51
I read he was a CB but few sites have him down as a DM too. Hopefully he’ll reach his potential. Best of luck to the young man!

3.) 23 Aug 2024 11:44:36
I think he plays both MK.

4.) 23 Aug 2024 12:35:04
Give him a year or so, loaned out and never to be seen again.

{Ed002's Note - He cannot be loaned out next year.}

5.) 23 Aug 2024 13:08:33
Ed, do you get a sense that LFC is turning focus inward on improving their academy? And, is there a sense they're doing smart things? Or is this just more of the same, misguided spending on guys who will struggle to develop within the club.

{Ed002's Note - All clubs have academies that they hope can provide players who can succeed. Some will move on.}

6.) 23 Aug 2024 16:03:35
Haha, hope isn't worth much without a sound strategy! :) Have a great weekend, Ed!

22 Aug 2024 14:35:22
Ed's, With time running out and Newcastle still clearly desperate to sign a new CB do you see any chance of them putting the previously discussed Gomes/ Gordon options back on the table?

ShipleyKopite

{Ed002's Note - They have already made an approach about an alternative to Guehi if that move cannot happen.}

1.) 22 Aug 2024 17:00:03
Are Palace most likely to get Gomez if Newcastle buy Guehi?

Also you said Inacio and other targets about the CB position. Is Schlotterbeck one of them?

2.) 23 Aug 2024 09:39:31
Slot speaking in glowing terms about Joe at the press conference. Perhaps reports of Gomez leaving may be a bit premature?

20 Aug 2024 15:44:44
Looks like there might be some movement with Mamardashvili.
According to Fabrizio Romano we are in the final stages. Looks like we will sign him now and loan him back to Valencia for the season. Bournemouth are now out of the equation.

ShipleyKopite

1.) 20 Aug 2024 16:17:24
As smart as this, we're all agreed as this isn't a signing for this year AND as it looks like we will net £100m in sales, that this simply isn't enough for this transfer window?

Still praying for a couple of signings, but very sceptical.

2.) 20 Aug 2024 17:58:16
Bournemouth have never been in the equation OP and as for listening to anything that man says you can take with a pinch of salt, he’s never been right so far.

3.) 20 Aug 2024 22:46:41
Looks a v good goalkeeper in fairness. Alison I presume has made his intentions clear he would like to move on in next year r 2.

4.) 21 Aug 2024 00:33:59
Where is the £100m in sales coming from?

A couple more loans arranged. Doak to Hull and Scanlon to Millwall.

Interesting that we rejected the Leverkusen offer to loan Morton. Apparently they guaranteed to give him 50% of available game time. so I can only assume that he is well and truly in Slots plans for this season!

ShipleyKopite

1.) 29 Aug 2024 21:41:09
I doubt the guaranteed 50% of games, I like the player but Leverkusen are competing at the top of the Bundesliga!

Now he’s staying I hope he can prove he’s a decent player, I can see him moving above Endo by Jan.

22 Aug 2024 19:20:34
Sepp to Brentford confirmed.

ShipleyKopite

1.) 22 Aug 2024 23:19:01
£20m + add ons.
You used to be able to get a Sepp for 10p and that was with a match.

16 Aug 2024 10:15:59
I don't like to read too much into press conferences but Slot did not sound happy when questioned on transfers and particularly on contracts. Hopefully he is just fed up of being asked the same questions but he sounded genuinely angry when answering.

I did like the fact that he corrected the journos question and explained to him how he should have phrased the question. Impressive to do that in a foreign language!

ShipleyKopite

1.) 16 Aug 2024 10:30:11
Perfect command of the English language, Shipley. He handles himself really well.

2.) 16 Aug 2024 10:43:25
He was excellent in his presser. Calm, thoughtful, respectful and a couple of moments of humour. A far cry from the other follically challenged Dutch coach.

So far he’s been spot on.

3.) 16 Aug 2024 21:42:30
Pelican, That other follically challenged Dutchman is one of if not the most incompetent coach in the PL and with no style of play after near 600m spent? Sorry, absolute dumpster fire, imo.

The only reason he’s still even in a job is cos they couldn’t find someone dumb enuff to replace him with as they all ran for the hills, as soon as they were contacted so with the way he talks, he really thinks he’s that dude.

4.) 17 Aug 2024 01:17:57
Whatever you think of Ten Hag, he has won two trophies with Man Utd.

5.) 17 Aug 2024 03:04:04
One of the most impressive things about Slot is he has all the excuses in the world to dampen expectations yet he doesn't go there. He could come out with the ‘year in transition’ faff or ‘team needs to adapt to a new style’ or even ‘need to work within financial constraints after last summer’s spend’, etc.
Yet in all his press conferences he refers to how great a squad he has inherited and how transfers are difficult because replacements need to be exceptional.
Hopefully he walks like he talks but initial impressions are that he is not one to hide.

Definitely silly seasoning the media. Lots of Liverpool stories this morning.

Apparently, although still confident we will get Zubimendi we have drawn up a 4 man shortlist just in case. This is Andre, Ederson, Varela and Joao Gomes.

One story claims we are considering Rabiot as a back up plan.

Another story claim we will move for Antonio Silva for £85m once Zubimendi is complete.

My favourite though must be the story about us going for Gordon and Guimaraes after we have signed Zubimendi.

I think it's safe to say that we are keeping out dealings quite close to our chests and that in general the media have absolutely no clue.

ShipleyKopite

1.) 09 Aug 2024 09:53:52
So the press has no idea what’s going on.

2.) 09 Aug 2024 10:33:01
Or maybe there isn't anything to report and Liverpool are going to take a let's see how it goes with what we have approach.

3.) 09 Aug 2024 11:33:28
People haven't cottoned on that they just make stories up.
There’s an old saying, throw enough sh£t and eventually some will stick.

4.) 09 Aug 2024 11:04:36
Once you've read the story the media have done their job.
We all sit there sometimes and think 'why did I just read that' ?.

5.) 09 Aug 2024 11:55:50
Football journalists and politicians are the only two lines of work, were you can say or write a story and then the next couple of days completely change the narrative n make a new one up, take both with a pinch of salt, ill take Ed002 for transfer news. n Ed 25 as PM.

6.) 09 Aug 2024 12:57:46
@Rigsby, funny you should say that ?.

24 Jul 2024 20:26:29
I see VAR has hit new heights at the olympics. Disallowing an Argentinian equaliser in the16th minute of stoppage time over an hour after they thought they had scored!

ShipleyKopite

1.) 24 Jul 2024 20:46:05
That’s not quite what happened though, so you’re wrong, when Argentina equalised the Moroccan fans ran onto the pitch so game was abandoned for 2hrs, then the game was finished behind closed doors, then that was when VAR intervened with the goal.

2.) 24 Jul 2024 21:34:00
Wind your neck in buddy. I’m not wrong. I know what happened. My point was that VAR took over an hour from the point that the ball went in to say that the goal was disallowed. Yes the game was suspended at the time but it is is another example of VAR making situations worse.

3.) 24 Jul 2024 21:56:02
Morocco led the Group B clash 2-1 and in the final stages of the game Argentina hit the frame of the goal twice before Medina struck in the 16th minute of stoppage time to level the match in Saint-Etienne, his equaliser sparked objects being thrown onto the pitch and players were taken off for their safety as Morocco fans invaded the pitch, supporters were then asked to leave the stadium with a message being projected on screens, after almost two hours without play, the game resumed behind closed doors with three minutes left on the clock and Medina's 106th-minute leveller was chalked off for an offside in the build-up, VAR couldn’t intervene as the game had stopped and could only advise the ref at the restart “buddy”.

4.) 24 Jul 2024 22:21:19
You're reaching hard there, Shipley.

Fans invaded the pitch after the equaliser which caused the game to be stopped. That has nothing to do with VAR.

5.) 24 Jul 2024 22:42:34
Shipley seems like a prickly chap.

But hey, why let silly things like facts stand in the way of a sensational point well made.

All power to you, brother!

6.) 25 Jul 2024 06:47:20
Shipley seems to have stuck his "neck out" a bit too far there.

7.) 25 Jul 2024 09:21:13
Not only that, but the ref had the option to stop the game at 2-2, but he wanted the VAR check so he continued the game for the 3 minutes of extra time afterwards. Var was nothing but helpful here.

8.) 25 Jul 2024 10:57:26
I’m not a fan of VAR but there’s really nothing to see here. Seems to me everybody did the right thing.

9.) 25 Jul 2024 11:33:31
Got to wonder about the hysterical mindset that wants to make a big deal about that.

10.) 25 Jul 2024 11:54:32
Looks like VAR worked, as intended.

Players more capable than Quansah and Gomes expect to start games. They aren't going to sign to sit on the bench.

He has given the club his best years and given us far more in return than the £36.9m we spent to bring him in. He will go down as one of the Premier Leagues best ever transfers. I would love to see him stay for another couple of years but if he walks off into the Saudi sunset next summer I will clap him out of the door and thank him for his service.

Great player, great professional and a great man. He is and always will be a Liverpool legend.

What way Red? Does he like head-butting Italians? If so we should steer clear as we don't want any trouble with Chiesa!

I suspect ETH is too delusional to believe Slot and realise that his tactics are a problem and so all Slot has done is tell everybody else how to beat them.

We will have to see how this new format pans out. I suspect Real, us and Leverkusen will all get through relatively comfortably but one of us will need to play an extra round of games. The fact we play both at Anfield is hugely in our favour.
