Question for anyone with us repeatedly linked to Real Madrids Rodrygo (at 90mil euro) and TAA linked to move to RM maybe even a bid in January?

Would you accept a deal of Trent moving in Jan and Rodrygo joining us for £50mil in Jan?

Kloppiche

{Ed002's Note - That is not an option.}

1.) 15 Oct 2024 19:40:59
Sorry ED. Never an option. I meant it for banter. Would fans here accept that TAA move with this option or no way it etc. it’s international break I was bored and interested with people’s opinion with possible ways to soften the blow. We were linked again with Rodrygo as a Salah replacement. Even though he’s still playing every game at RM. Next time I think of something like this I’ll add for the rumour pages. Thanks. Enjoy your evening.

{Ed002's Note - You seem to have a very strange vie about transfers. Real Madrid will look to take TAA on a free transfer - unrelated to Rodrygo. If Liverpool progress their interest in Rodrygo without flip-flopping to alternatives, the cost will be huge.}

2.) 15 Oct 2024 21:48:27
@Kloppiche, understanding that it’s a ‘what if’ banter I’d consider it if it were Tchouameni (sp? ) rather than Rodrygo.

3.) 16 Oct 2024 10:50:56
Reckon Trent is prob thinking along same lines as Owen - go for a few years then come back to Liverpool worst case scenario if it doesn’t work out. Can’t blame him but such a shame imo - would have loved to see him transition into midfield and captain us after Virg but doesn’t seem like either will happen.

4.) 16 Oct 2024 21:31:12
Walking away from a club who made you who you are and as a local lad for free is unforgivable imo, still think he'll stay.

5.) 17 Oct 2024 14:34:10
Should have given them Trent and cash in the summer for Rodrygo.

6.) 17 Oct 2024 23:25:56
You say that now. But if that had happened everyone would be mad at the club for selling a local lad.

7.) 18 Oct 2024 02:31:53
i am of the opinion if they want to go for free next year rot in the reserves til you go coz you aren't what we need, we need all our players working on the same waveleght, i would rather have a dip in quality and moree commitment to play than someone solely driven by the wages.

8.) 18 Oct 2024 09:57:48
Trent is not walking away from the club if the club does not have a new contract on the table for him. Unless you are expecting Trent to continue playing for us without a contract from next season onwards.

Good Afternoon EDs. Question for ED002 if that's ok? Given the time left in this window would you expect Chiesa to conclude incomings? Do you think or know of any moves for a final signing in defence, or is that purely if Gomes leaves? I just hope a CB/ LB will finish the window by Friday. Thanks.

Kloppiche

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool will do what they can to add a DM.}

1.) 28 Aug 2024 16:28:56
Ed002, No centreback then?

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps if Gonez departs.}

2.) 28 Aug 2024 16:37:30
Ed002, do you think any of our 5 main forwards will leave this transfer window.

{Ed002's Note - Hard to say.}

3.) 28 Aug 2024 16:16:33
What happening with Inacio Ed? Are we still talking with his agent or has that ended? Or any other CB for the matter. Time is running out. Honestly thinking a CB is more important than a DM.

{Ed002's Note - There were talks with his agent about 10 days ago.}

4.) 28 Aug 2024 16:53:22
Why is everyone calling chiesa a Rw? He is a LW, am I missing something here, I thought I was imagining it but checked transfer market and been looking at a lot of videos at juve, and he a LW. A good one.

5.) 28 Aug 2024 16:57:21
Inacio is not for sale then? Risky going into the season with 2 injury prone CB's, and one who is learning his trade.

6.) 28 Aug 2024 17:00:40
How is a CB more important? Gomez is top quality for a second choice and can cover 3 positions. If he is willing to stay at that role, it is great for the team.

On the CDM however, Slot obviously does not see Endo as his type of player and we cannot risk the whole season on the shoulders of a newborn DM in the face of Gravenberch.

Let us hope the Varela talks heat up in the next days.

7.) 28 Aug 2024 16:47:46
Maybe not leaving it til the last few days of the window would help ed.

8.) 28 Aug 2024 16:48:40
Thank you ED, for this reply and all your work throughout this window. So You see a final before window shuts for a DM and nothing on the Defence? Ok thanks. I guess this is Gomes staying so CB/ LB not really required? Best of luck for the rest of this week while window open.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained what I know. Clearly lessons will need to be learned.}

9.) 28 Aug 2024 17:13:49
Philips can also cover defence too.

10.) 28 Aug 2024 18:45:28
Philips should have been sold years ago. We are in a dire dire mess if Philips has to play.

11.) 28 Aug 2024 19:07:18
Any interest in Caqueret, Ed? Similar style to Zubimendi and looks to be on the move.

{Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool and Lyon has rejected an offer from elsewhere.}

12.) 28 Aug 2024 20:46:20
Cheers Ed.

Hi Does anyone know of the last 9 games, how many Chiesa has to appear to get a medal if we do win the title?

Kloppiche

1.) 01 Apr 2025 14:14:40
Another 2.

2.) 01 Apr 2025 14:28:55
You can still get a medal if you don't meet the automatic criteria. The club are given 40 and as long as any player who has made at least 5 appearances gets one, the others can be given to anybody (including manager, coaches, staff)

29 Jan 2025 16:51:24
Looks like zero will happen this window and is all but confirmed by Slot in interview with Lineker. Working on strengthening in Summer.

Kloppiche

1.) 29 Jan 2025 17:24:35
We’re the leap year club. We only sign players every 4th window.

2.) 29 Jan 2025 17:48:09
Maybe wait until tomorrow and then start another new thread with the same statement.
Might force the club to buy someone.

3.) 29 Jan 2025 18:45:59
In the last year and a half we have made 6 signings and that’s not including the youth team. I genuinely think people just like the concept of the club spending money for no reason other than excitement of a new face.

Szoboszlai, Endo, Gravy and MacAllister were all bought in the summer of 2023. Mamardashvili bought in the summer of 2024 along with Chiesa. The squad right now is firing on all cylinders, best team in Europe. Yet people want more flashy signings for what reason exactly?

If slot and co say they’re strengthening in the summer, trust the process. The process so far has us on course to win the league.

4.) 29 Jan 2025 19:32:23
Good - everything is under control by the experts regardless of what concerned fans think.

5.) 29 Jan 2025 20:29:56
“People want flashy signings for no reason”. Utter rubbish, people feel that strengthening would solidify our chances of winning on several fronts and for seasons to come. Additionally, given we have one title in nearly 15 years under FSG some scepticism wouldn’t be remised. We were top 27 games in last season and fell off a cliff… I’m sorry if I want another body to reaffirm confidence.

6.) 29 Jan 2025 20:58:21
Your right there @Frode - you know we’ve only won one title in 35 years - it’s a disgrace what’s going on.

7.) 29 Jan 2025 21:07:47
Frode - ironically, we made lots of signed a lot of players last season. still fell off a cliff.

did we fall off a cliff due to needing to make more signings, or a combo of other factors?

To me, there seems to be far too much weight put to signings having the most impact on our performance and outcomes.

8.) 29 Jan 2025 22:37:00
We signed 4 midfielders in one window. and that's supposed to be a positive? We lost 5 midfielders that same window. how did that happen? And it was hardly a roaring success last season trophy wise. Maybe if they'd got another shiny new toy, we'd have won a major trophy or two.

I think many fans are capable of seeing the bigger picture, learning from history and understanding that standing still is not progression. Unfortunately there are some who like to cancel those arguments with their shiny toy comments. So I thought I'd join the party!

It's not a bad thing wanting to improve the squad. and if there is a plan in place to improve the squad then fine. But I fear our transfer strategy is more aligned to obtaining a bargain rather than what's needed.

9.) 29 Jan 2025 23:20:25
What if a £25/ 30m signing in January means there are less funds for players that are seen as strengthening us even more in the summer?
Sometimes you have to be patient and wait for the player that you want. Van Dijk is a prime example. It doesn't always work but I don't see the sense in signing players for the sake of it on the premise that they always make you stronger.
And posters are always talking about positions that need strengthening not names that are attainable and that will make us stronger.

10.) 30 Jan 2025 00:46:40
What if the £25-30 million pound player gets us over the line and we win the league? Can’t keep planning for the future. The future is now.

11.) 30 Jan 2025 01:39:01
@sirshanks, it depends what you mean by progression. A turnover of playing staff can, undoubtedly be good, but I can also be bad if it destabilises the group spirit.

I’d say the entry of a new coach with a different perspective has been very beneficial to the current squad and there is a marked progression in the squad this season.

If the clubs aim is to improve season on season they have been successful without spending much money (they did sign the keeper and Chiesa) in the summer window.

12.) 30 Jan 2025 03:24:53
I've just taken a look at a few of the transfers this transfer window and most of the players that have moved are less than impressive and I don't feel we have missed out. The only two that I would have liked join us ar Marmoush and Kvaradona. So I think that shows just how poor the value of this window actually is. Admittedly, I would have liked a CB/ LB and a CM to be brought in but if waiting for the summer window would ensure that we get good quality players who would actually improve us, then I'm all for waiting.

13.) 30 Jan 2025 06:12:49
Hilarious - maybe some should have been watching the game back in the early 90’s to 00’s when when we were really held back.

14.) 30 Jan 2025 08:25:13
Good question, john.
Signing a £25/ 30m player now to get us over the line would be great but there are no guarantees.
My question was about compromising in the summer to bring in another body now. The club will have a budget and I'm asking would you dip into it because we are in a good position and just because we can.
Getting over the line is not the issue; we all want that. If a player was available and affordable and help get us over the line we should do it.
Is such a player available and who is it?
We'll probably never know but I can understand us not gambling now thus giving us more to gamble with at a better time. The situation in the summer could be very different with the three contracts being just one consideration.

15.) 30 Jan 2025 10:39:54
Think the key thing is signing the right player - if a player is available, will improve the squad in a position that we need then go for it.

The worry is signing players we do not need, or for positions we are well stocked in - the right player improves the team, other signings could take funds away so that if a player we have scouted and want then becomes available, we cannot afford him - also, if we overpay in wages for a 'shiny new' player, that can destabilise the rest of the squad too

Still think the priority should be the 3 contracts though.

16.) 30 Jan 2025 14:13:34
Drogie, you ain't never lied. I wonder how all these people taking about "standards" and how mediocre we are right now after all the success we have had in the last decade overall, were able to keep their sanity during those decades.

But he doesn't play, another season of injuries. Hato or the Moroccan Kid would be under £25m and probably less wage too. Either maybe more reliable.

Cant think why. He's 19 and played about 9 games in 2nd division. Surely we have better in our U21s.

Kloppiche

{Ed001's Note - he has been outstanding and is extremely highly rated, we have not got anyone at his level or even close to it. If we did Quansah would have never been anywhere near the first team. Surely the fact that he was the shining light of the young defenders at the club should tell you that we don't have good defenders?}

I really like Harvey and he is still young, having 2 league titles in his locker. I think he is a really good player, not great. My only negative about him is what is he? winger? 8? 10? if he had stayed in one and I think he could have mastered it. Bit like Foden, what is he and without it clear is this why he also isn't the result people was expecting?

I'm sure I read somewhere Hughes had nothing to do with the recruitment or signing of Either Huijsen or Kirkez, so I doubt there is any relationship there.

Would he be fit enough for his testimonial? I Wish he would stay fit and play more, I'm a big fan but if someone offers money in the summer we should bite their hand off, we need a CB who is available to play games. Real shame but he just cannot stay fit to stay as a player for us anymore.
