Harvey on loan to Brighton?
1.) 14 Jan 2025 07:20:07
Surely not without a replacement.
2.) 14 Jan 2025 07:24:56
I would try and swap him for Baleba.
3.) 14 Jan 2025 07:25:18
If there was an obligation to buy that would make sense, if not then not sure it’s in our interest to let him go.
4.) 14 Jan 2025 07:46:15
I would not let him go anyway think he is a great squad player who is happy at the club. Feel he deserves more minutes than he has got this season though.
5.) 14 Jan 2025 07:52:39
Slot looks to be scything the squad down with little emotional attachment.
6.) 14 Jan 2025 07:54:24
Slot doesn’t seem to rate Harvey. Surprising in a way because Harvey could probably play a Zubimendi type role, although Zubimendi is a bit more mobile and more experienced right now.
7.) 14 Jan 2025 08:04:32
Harvey is nothing like zubimendi.
8.) 14 Jan 2025 08:21:47
Do people forget he was out for months with a broken foot, he'll get plenty of minutes it's a long season and loads of games coming up.
9.) 14 Jan 2025 08:35:49
Elliott's just too weak to play in our midfield and too slow to play out wide for us. Very few players are good enough both technically and tactically to get away with having no physical attributes. I think he should go to Germany or Spain personally where he could probably play for top club. If he stays in England, he'll probably need to go to a midtable side like West Ham, Brighton, Tottenham or Man United ?.
10.) 14 Jan 2025 08:45:08
I think harvey is perfectly capable of being a star in this league and this club. I think its only a matter of time before slot brings him in more. I do think fitness is an issue. I could be massively wrong but I truly think he could end up becoming a captain for us.
11.) 14 Jan 2025 09:03:22
I agree MKS, it’s a shame because I love Harvey.
I think his physicality can be offset by his determination. However, combined with his lack of pace makes him a peripheral player at best. And I am not sure he wants to be a peripheral player here.
Still have no idea of how Slot wants his midfield setup because he seems to be almost playing with Klopp’s midfield. Grav sitting at the base is a change in style but not personnel. Both McAllister and Szoboszlai being played out of position still. Weird how successive managers have not thought about swapping the latter two around.
12.) 14 Jan 2025 09:14:52
I agree with MK and St Etienne, he hasn’t got the physicality to make it with us, he’ll be on the bench unless we get injuries. The only reason I see him potentially working better centrally is his lack of pace isn’t quite as critical there, and he’s got good passing range. His physicality would still be a problem though .
13.) 14 Jan 2025 10:13:09
I think Szoboszlai is wanted further forward for his pressing qualities and Macca is wanted deeper for his passing qualities and tenacity in a 50/ 50. It makes sense, but against certain team with a powerful runner in the no.10 position, Macca can and has struggled (Wolves/ Cunha, Newcastle/ Joelinton, Forest/ Gibbs-White etc) . He turns slower than milk.
With what slot wants from his midfielders though, Elliott has no real place in there as a regular. He's totally ineffective in the press as he's too slow to close someone down and too small for them to be intimidated by him running at them; he just gets brushed aside. If he sits deeper he has the passing range, but he looks genuinely hurt after nearly every 50/ 50 he contests and we've never even seen him there to know if he has the defensive awareness to cope. I honestly think he needs to be in a team that don't press so he can be a purely creative No.10.
{Ed001's Note - Harvey can't lack that much physicality when he did so well in the Championship - a much more physical league than the Prem. He is not as slow as you are making out either.}
14.) 14 Jan 2025 10:37:06
Ed001, he played RW in the Championship for Blackburn though, not in midfield. I only saw him a few times for them but in those games he was also playing very wide so he had time and space. He's not slow, but he's not quick enough to beat a Premier League full back, and he just gets brushed off or side stepped when he tries to press. I hate being harsh on him, but no matter how hard I try I can't see how he fits into the midfield in a Slot team. I'd love him to succeed here but I can only be honest. I appreciate you prefer him to Mac Allister though and respect your views on it. If he stays here then I think it's purely as cover for Mo Salah unless a new manager comes in and has a different idea.
{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't play him as a winger, but he is plenty mobile enough to play in midfield and the modern game doesn't need much in the way of physicality in the press. At least he doesn't roll around on the floor pretending to be hurt while the opposition overruns the rest of the midfield.}
15.) 14 Jan 2025 11:15:49
To be fair I do wish Macca would cut that out Ed001. We’re a big club, we’re not Arsenal!
16.) 14 Jan 2025 11:29:56
Personally think Elliott has the same attributes as Bernardo Silva, only he isn’t a complete c**t.
17.) 14 Jan 2025 13:20:27
Right VV.
Eliott is a better player and has shown it here than what MKS is saying. We all see things differently and that is the beauty.
He is ahead than Jones in attributes and game intelligence. (includes maccallister) . all my pov.

Thoughts on pep joining pep?
1.) 10 Jun 2025 16:02:09
No thoughts whatsoever. It is what it is.
2.) 10 Jun 2025 16:12:51
Doesn’t really bother me, it’s not like it’s a player or former manager, he’s just an assistant manager and he’s entitled to work where he wants. We just had a former Everton player as our assistant manager and nobody batted an eyelid.
3.) 10 Jun 2025 16:18:10
Narcissstic runt who took advantage of klopps kindness, played our worst football of the klopp era with him as assistant, hopefully city listen to him as I think they will struggle again this year as cherki and the other lad aren’t exactly world class.
4.) 10 Jun 2025 16:26:14
I wish people would stop doing these emotional interviews where they say how much the club means to them and this is the kind of thing they do just a year later.
Just say, "I always tried my best because I'm a professional" and leave it at that. It's not hard.
5.) 10 Jun 2025 16:36:49
Not sure if Pep Ljinders was ever really the ‘Liverpool type’. Without taking anything from his contribution to the achievements under Klopp, he was a little too ‘visible’ for me for a number 2. Completely opposite to the boot room gang from back in the day who were very effective but not too public. Even Slot’s team were understated. He may well suit the City or Arsenal way where the assistant or set pieces coach love the limelight but not for me and not for Liverpool. Then again I’m a grumpy old git!
6.) 10 Jun 2025 17:48:56
Fully agree there jonbon, far to visible.
22 May 2025 23:14:14
Just want to say, agent Amorim, keep doing what you're doing!
1.) 22 May 2025 23:55:57
The best thing is the united fans backing him, imagine spurs chucking 11 behind the ball and sticking with 3 at the back and one up top, clueless in game management.
2.) 23 May 2025 07:38:50
He Joined midway and there is no way he was going to agree to the job without proper assurances from the Top.
3.) 23 May 2025 12:02:23
The “Top” at United couldn’t organise a p! ss up in a brewery. They might have brought him in part way through this season but 5heir problems have been there and gradually getting worse for the last two decades.
13 Jul 2025 17:41:18
Agreed klopp4 but we shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bathwater either. Robbo may want away for different obvious reasons, but if he feels he can contribute to cementing the group after Diogos passing, then maybe that’ll be worth more than we’d ever get transfer wise…just sayin.
25 Jun 2025 00:20:37
His shirt presumably.
11 Jun 2025 14:40:51
Surprised we haven’t done much trade with your lot ed025, given some of the dross and deadwood you’ve overpaid for in recent seasons!
{Ed025's Note - but im sure you would love Branthwaite and Ndiaye Avit, and you could have had Tom Davies mate who would have been a massive upgrade on the likes of Curtis Jones.. :)
02 Jun 2025 23:19:38
A pound was a lot in those days victor!
02 Jun 2025 06:29:16
Nice one Patrick…. challenged us to define Gordon’s attributes then shot your argument down in the next 4 words! What have the romans ever given us!
13 Jul 2025 17:33:10
Just a shout out to Claudia maguire, serious set of pipes on that lady today! Hope she gets the chance to repeat at anfield at some point.
09 Jul 2025 23:36:35
Something your lot won’t have to worry about ed025.
{Ed025's Note - not yet Avit but it is a coming mate.. :)
01 Jul 2025 11:58:29
Or maybe it’s part of his dissertation for stating the bleeding obvious.
16 Jun 2025 07:15:40
Don’t tell him Pike!
15 Jun 2025 05:32:39
Common denominator? Manchester…I rest my case, m’lud!
