Keep an eye on Toney this window, know a couple of people around him, his team are pushing for LFC to come to the table, depends on whether Iraola and Hughes want to action. Wage demands would be much less than currently on in Saudi.

Not sure another CF is what we need. 🤣

3

19 Jul 2026 08:53:59
He was rubbish last night, but would be a good Ekitike replacement and then a 3rd striker. Would it be on a free? How many years does he have left on his contract?

2

19 Jul 2026 08:55:08
Not what we need, and not on last night's performance either.

9

19 Jul 2026 09:00:14
Taurus, we absolutely need another striker. Isak is always injured. Ekitike is out long term. Who else have we got? Gakpo? Or play Munoz up there? I've been hoping on a bid for Igor Thiago. Toney would be ok too, but I'd pick Thiago if it was a choice between them.

Looking at VG post about Rayan, that would be very interesting, but a lot more risky as he is so young. Anyway, I would be very surprised if Iraola goes into the new season with just Isak as our striker.

7

19 Jul 2026 09:00:30
So Toney has said to his pal, "I wouldn't mind playing for Liverpool this season."

His agents contact Liverpool.... no answer.... (tumbleweed blows past his window).

Social media says Toney is possibly signing for Liverpool.

Toney doesn't sign for Liverpool.

Over and out.

24

19 Jul 2026 09:01:02
Can he play RB?

12

19 Jul 2026 09:01:11
Doesn't seem like a deal we would want to do, but he is a massive Liverpool fan and would probably jump through flaming hoops to join us, so nothing's changed there.

3

19 Jul 2026 09:27:28
If there is the option on a free and he is happy to play back up or to even pressure Isak to perform, then it's not the worst idea. Many, including myself, are/were open to a Nunez return, and Toney is much the better finisher. Maybe not the work rate, but depends what you are buying him for. But he was awful last night.

1

19 Jul 2026 09:30:01
If Toney could be brought in and his expectations managed until he a) plays so well that he justifies regular starting selection, or b) accepts his role as finisher / squad player, then I can't see a negative.

A confident prem proven player that wants to play for the club.

If the numbers can be made to work I'd be all for this!!!

8

19 Jul 2026 09:36:17
I can assure you.

Liverpool will be nowhere near Toney.

Cheers.

35

19 Jul 2026 09:43:51
No way Liverpool move for Toney, even though I do rate him. That said, we definitely need another forward who can actually do a decent job as a 9 because anyone thinking Isak won't pick up injuries and miss a significant chunk of the season is utterly delusional.

6

19 Jul 2026 09:46:03
Robbo, any chance of Igor Thiago?

0

19 Jul 2026 10:04:54
Mateta would be a better shout for Isak rotation. 1 year left on his Palace contract.

5

19 Jul 2026 10:13:36
Brilliant Robbo. 😂👍🏼

1

19 Jul 2026 10:20:47
Soccer Fan, we don't need someone on high wages to be third choice striker. Someone versatile who can play across the front line is more desirable as a rotation option.

0

19 Jul 2026 10:59:17
Taurus, I can assure you if Thiago was signed he would become a regular starter. Isak is a real worry for me, he's very injury prone.

0

19 Jul 2026 11:20:54
Absolutely no chance we sign a 9 like Thiago. We didn't spend over £200m on two 9s last summer to spend another £80m+ on another 9 this summer who would be third choice when everyone's fit. Bizarre shout that if I'm being honest.

0

19 Jul 2026 11:28:26
"Ivan The Terrible", based on last night's performance.

2

19 Jul 2026 11:30:24
It's not how football works though with wages and such, Soccer Fan. If we wanted a new first choice striker, we would need to sell Isak, who we spent a fortune on, and his wages are very high.

0

19 Jul 2026 11:50:53
I know we need backup.
I know he's Premier League proven and a goal scorer.
However, one day we're going to have to start trusting our younger players. They should be back up.
If Isak gets a long term injury, then revisit it in January.

4

19 Jul 2026 12:10:13
Isak can't play every min of every game.
Nor can he be expected to play 3 games a week for weeks.
We most certainly do need an option for him but don't think Toney is that option.
As far as I can tell there are no youth players fit, available or able to be that option.

2

19 Jul 2026 12:32:50
Has he had a bet on himself joining Liverpool?

3

19 Jul 2026 12:42:53
Don't rise to the trolls, Robbo.

1

19 Jul 2026 12:43:51
Uncalled for, Steve G. And why are you waiting for Robbo to poop?

1

19 Jul 2026 12:48:52
Madness to start the season expecting Isak to play twice a week until Ekiteke is fit, which is likely well into 2027. I suspect nearer the end than beginning of the season.
So a decent backup striker is essential imo, and not an option.

Needs to be physically robust, PL proven, and not stupid money, as ultimately he will be 3rd choice.
Toney not a million miles away from fitting the bill.

19 Jul 2026 12:27:32
Awww Steve G, little butt hurt over the Diomande signing? Tell you what, release your frustrations out on fellow posters. that'll change the Yan's mind.

Steve G

Grow up mate.

Cheers

Hi Eds, why is there only a Thumbs Up icon, why not a Thumbs Down Icon? Then we could see how many agree and disagree with rubbish comments from posters such as Steve G above

Introduction of a thumbs down would end up with the trolls just disliking any of our ITKs posts.

0

19 Jul 2026 13:14:23
It's funny that folk seem to think we need to spend big numbers on another striker just in case Isak gets injured. The team has quite a few players who can fill in if needed, e.g. Gakpo, Munoz. Everyone had a downer on Gakpo, but his overall stats for us are decent. He wasn't great last season, but tell me who was?

I'd happily take a Litmanen/Riedle type signing (remember those) to provide some kind of backup but shelling out £100m when other positions are more desperate - no thanks.

Hi Diddly Ho,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to comment or message me after my last post.

I’ve been genuinely humbled by the response. The kindness, support and togetherness this community has shown over the last day or so has been incredible, and it’s reminded me why I’ve enjoyed being part of this site for so long. It’s easy to let the negativity drown everything else out, but you’ve all proved that those voices are very much in the minority.

Maybe deciding to walk away was a bit of a rash decision. How can Ned Flanders ignore a response like that?

So, thank you all.

It really has meant a lot.

As for transfer updates… nothing new from my end at the moment. The expectation is still that the Barcola push becomes formal early this week.

I do have a nice little session with my golf buddy shortly, hope he has a little more for me to pass on.

Wonderful to see that Szoboszlai has been announced finally, I don’t know why the club waited so long to finalise it. He’s going to be integral over in our new era & I expect to see him taking up more in a leadership capacity.

Again, thank you all.

Diddly back.

19 Jul 2026 09:04:37
Good to have you back, mate. This site is for every Liverpool fan and we appreciate your posts.

Now coming back on transfer strategy, I don't quite like one big money signing after another. I am more fond of the Munoz type ones. But that is just me, it isn't my money, so I wouldn't care as long as they don't push the costs back onto the public. Some big money signings are probably required every now and then which was what we did for VVD and Ali and for a player like Wirtz (at least based on what he was expected to achieve at that time, which I still have hopes of.

I think he was starting to flourish before the injury, and then the morale of the entire team was down. I still expect him and Isak to come good), but then we spent quite a lot on Ekitike too, and now we are linked to more 100m pound players. So I wouldn't mind if we moved from all these and unearthed some real gems.

Good to have you back, Ned. Don't ever desert us like that again.

19 Jul 2026 10:44:36
Welcome back, Ned. We all know things in football change quickly. This time yesterday we all thought Rodgers was on his way to Arsenal and Chelsea come in from nowhere. We appreciate your posts along with Robbo, Carra, Victor, etc. I think people just get frustrated when things don't happen quickly, so they jump on you guys, which is totally unfair.

I'm just happy we have a good Manager and I'm sure we will get a couple in before the season starts and let's face it, it has to be more exciting than last season, as it was truly awful.

19 Jul 2026 00:06:20
Ed1, do you have any info on our pursuit of wingers or Salah replacement? It seems like the one we are interested in are either too pricey or have problematic agents.

2

19 Jul 2026 09:43:05
No worries Ed. Have you post Iraola manager's profile or last season review? I think I might have missed it if you already post them. I've not been able to check the site daily for past few weeks.

0

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - I haven't had a chance to get either done, the sites have been insanely busy through the world cup. All through the night as well, so there is no quiet times to work on anything else but editing.}

19 Jul 2026 00:28:09
Hi all,

New to posting on here, and had this name for a while but there was no point posting it while they were still in the tournament.

Keep an eye on Malo Gusto, definitely been looked at and open to a move with Chelsea signing Palestra. Club like him a lot but won't pay the heavy fee quoted earlier in the window.

Cheers.

16

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed078's Note - Welcome. Lately, any rumour poster has to have thick skin. Be nice, people.

15

19 Jul 2026 03:19:07
Wouldn't be a terrible signing, he's kinda a Ireola type player. Would rather have Neco Williams back though.

5

19 Jul 2026 03:54:12
@Vik, over to you...

7

19 Jul 2026 06:17:21
West Derby Wanderer IV, once Vik wakes up from his coffin sleep, he'll give us the lowdown on Malo Gusto, which means bad taste in English.

2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - I am sure he will have a long list of Gusto's inadequacies as he is terrible. Even the Chelsea fans don't rate him.}

10

19 Jul 2026 06:20:20
Gusto? Has Man City written all over it, surely?

Thanks for posting though, as all rumours are appreciated.

2

19 Jul 2026 07:14:39
Agree with King Kenny, Gusto looks to be on his way to City to play under his former manager if the two clubs can agree a fee.

2

19 Jul 2026 08:11:01
Welcome. Keep posting, mate. 👍🏻

2

19 Jul 2026 08:35:08
I was going to watch Gusto last night.
Couldn't see him though.

1

19 Jul 2026 08:58:58
Thanks for posting, Ken. Not sure on Gusto, but if he can stay fit, a Doni can coach him into the player he needs to be, then why not.

0

19 Jul 2026 09:13:03
Nice rumour, Ken Rogers, keep them coming.

1

19 Jul 2026 09:23:08
I really like Spence. I know lots of negative comments on here, but he's quick and feisty, never gives up, and has a great engine. Could cover both left and right back.

I'll get my crash helmet on!! Give me a minute, cos it's in the shed.

. 🫣

3

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - he is an awful defender, who doesn't work back, he gives up constantly which is why he is so far out of position constantly. Watch him on the Argentina goals - one of them he is literally just stood watching for ages making no attempt to close the cross down. Terrible player, even when he goes forward he just runs until he gives the ball away. I don't know what people watched as he was woeful.}

6

19 Jul 2026 09:26:15
We seem to be even thinking of adding players who need to be coached into what we need. This is crazy stuff.

Everyone can improve and evolve, but we shouldn't be contemplating too many newbies who need intense coaching; we need some experience.

0

19 Jul 2026 09:58:44
Gusto is crap and Chelsea want about £75m for him so we can safely say, we won't be singing him. Might end up reunited with Maresca.

As for Spence, I wouldn't mind him for the sort of fee floated around a few weeks ago (£35m), but I imagine he'd cost us £60m+ which doesn't make any sense tbh.

Great 1v1 defender with incredible athleticism though, will do very well at the right club. Supposedly major attitude issues too.

0

19 Jul 2026 10:12:58
Spence can run quite fast that's about the best you can say for him. Best left where he is.

2

19 Jul 2026 12:31:49
Welcome mate. Really hope you're wrong. Don't see a player in Gusto at all. Last night he was the worst player on the pitch, closely followed by Konate. No idea how he lasted full 90 and ended up costing France the comeback with a stupid tackle to compound his performance.

Even with our current options I'd rather try Ramsey than spend money on that lad.

Keep the posts coming though, mate, thanks for sharing.

18 Jul 2026 22:30:20
Hi guys,

After Szoboszlai, the club are starting to put things in place to offer Rio a better deal next season. This would be improved terms, potentially a fresh deal which he will be eligible for as of end of August. Early doors yet. Could go in any direction currently.

In terms of exits, Harvey wants to stay but we may have to sell him. The obvious outliers are Chiesa and Endo. Club haven't been able to get decent offers for Endo, Chiesa is not pushing for an exit either.

For those interested, I did mention about a few players causing issues last season, Jones was one of them.

Still unsure if he stays or goes. At the moment I think he'll stay another year but let's see. Hard to call.

Quite a few youngsters will go out on loan later in the window.

I am told at the moment that there is nothing new on Diomande, I don't know anything about Barcola either, I'm not sure there's even interest there, literally heard nothing.

Edwards leaving had really thrown me - I get my info from somebody who knows him and that was never discussed, I can only assume there were disagreements over Slot and other things that led to him resigning!

Cheers.

15

19 Jul 2026 00:34:52
Rio will take a major step forward this season, I actually still see him and Cody being our left wingers this season.

1

19 Jul 2026 01:05:18
#YWGORS.

0

19 Jul 2026 08:06:56
Chiesa might well find a fan in Iraola, but whether he'll get the game time is another matter. Jones too. Has shown a versatility that coaches love, even if he's not no.1 in any position. They both tick a lot of boxes for AI. Their futures are v much in their own hands.

I hope Harvey stays, but he needs to play, so could well be sold, or loaned out to somewhere he'll play. Bacjetic is another who desperately needs competitive matches. I'm looking forward to them featuring in the US tour. After then, we'll have to see.

1

19 Jul 2026 08:44:54
I would love to see him be the player he could be in a Celtic shirt. A stretch, I know, but he would be amazing up here and would obviously prosper with regular playing time. He'd find a home there.

1

19 Jul 2026 08:51:21
*Was referring to Elliot in my previous post... it's early and I'm tired!

1

18 Jul 2026 21:53:36
Hi all,

Arsenal have re-entered negotiations for Barcola and the rumours of their enquiries about Diomande are correct. I predict this will force our hand. Big developments inevitably inbound in the next few days, I imagine Barcola’s future will be decided very shortly. We remain his first choice and considerably ahead of Arsenal in the race.

27

18 Jul 2026 22:34:25
We won't do a thing. We've effed around and will now find out. Just hope we don't sign dross like Neto in desperation, as that would be absolutely unforgivable.

17

18 Jul 2026 22:48:52
I think people can relax on the Neto speculation. Chelsea don't want to sell to us, we are not interested and Neto isn't either.

21

18 Jul 2026 22:59:56
Cheers, Victor. Need to move quick. Players being snapped up now and big money being thrown around again. Need to land our top targets fast.

4

18 Jul 2026 23:01:49
Why do we have to wait for clubs to force our hand, if you want him, just go and get him.

7

18 Jul 2026 23:03:06
Don't be disappointed when they bring out the old "no market opportunity" and "keeping our powder dry" excuses. The problem is, if we leave it and write another season off, that means Ali, VVD, Endo, Gomes will more than likely be gone. On top of those areas, we already have to strengthen now.

6

18 Jul 2026 23:08:36
Everyone knows we have a new manager, right? And there's a World Cup on that means he hasn't had the time to assess the whole squad?

8

18 Jul 2026 23:38:39
Iraola will want to assess the squad, Zed, but there are obvious positions we are short in regardless. It would be very concerning if the recruitment team don't know that.

9

18 Jul 2026 23:46:19
Being objective, Kopite, we've lost Salah and Konate and brought in Munoz and Jacquet.

I know there are positions we would want to strengthen based on last year, but how much was last year based on the coach, fitness and tactics?

Iraola is best placed to see/find that out.

13

18 Jul 2026 23:58:49
Exactly Zed, I'm not overly stressed. Didn't these players only struggle last year because of the management team? And they still got Champs League. I'm not expecting to be Champions this year no matter who we get in, but even if we bring no one else in I still expect top 5, so for me, if the club don't wanna pay silly money for players undeserving of it, I'm happy enough.

7

18 Jul 2026 23:59:21
I get what you're saying, Zed, but we were short on the right even with Salah still here. We ran Salah into the ground due to not having a decent backup. To think we can recruit one player in his place and expect the same super-human fitness from his replacement could prove to be very short sighted.

Still plenty of time in the window left though. Hopefully Iraola has time to assess, then recruit where we need it, with time still left in pre-season to bed the players in.

5

19 Jul 2026 00:04:12
Iraola said in his first press conference, we need players, Zedd.

8

19 Jul 2026 00:05:39
Panicking about Arsenal moving for our targets would suggest the legwork our so-called best football operators in the business have been doing was pretty useless.

Alternatively, we are sticking to whatever the plan is and are executing.

3

19 Jul 2026 00:20:38
Personally don't think there is a plan. Edwards had a hissy fit. Hughes is on his way out. It feels like a clown show.

4

19 Jul 2026 00:36:46
Why do you think that, Victor? Bearing in mind there's a WC going on and a new manager at the club.

2

19 Jul 2026 01:08:39
Zed,
Konate ➡️ Jacquet
VVD ➡️ Leoni
Matip ➡️ ???
Gomez ➡️ Ndwuke or Ndiaye?

1

19 Jul 2026 00:54:51
I'm not even sure where the Neto rumours came from, to be honest. Seems like a made up rumour that kind of snowballed.

5

19 Jul 2026 04:01:39
Isak, Wirtz, Kerkez, Leoni, Jacquet, Munoz.

Perhaps if the club sees a player they want, they just go and get them. Perhaps because us fans who read social media really don't have a clue who the club actually want, or are considering bringing in.

Knowing this site, all the people saying don't touch Barcola will all of a sudden lose their minds about him going to Arsenal!

I'm a fan personally and hope we do get him.

7

19 Jul 2026 10:47:07
Vik said that we'd sign one player last summer.

19 Jul 2026 11:08:42
He looked decent last night when he came on. Absolutely rapid, and it was a decent finish too.
I personally don't think he's worth half the money being suggested, but the market is so inflated right now that every deal feels like a crazy one.

Hi all,

As you have most likely seen by now, the Morgan Rogers deal has been hijacked by Chelsea. I’m not sure how this affects the Barcola deal, but it almost certainly brings Arsenal back into the fold.

I will update you all as and when I can.

32

18 Jul 2026 20:09:56
Cheers pal, though I reckon Barcola would pick us over playing LWB in Arsenal's 6-3-1 formation. Rogers picked Chelsea over them and they've got no European football at all.

Arsenal are a horrible club to be at right now if you want to play football as an attacker.

21

18 Jul 2026 20:13:43
I asked this in another post, then checked again and 10 other people have asked the same. 🤣 Thanks for the update. We hopefully have our eyes on some alternatives if we miss out on Barcola, maybe some cheaper, hidden gem alternatives.

18 Jul 2026 20:14:38
Barcola going Arsenal.

He'll choose us over them.

5

18 Jul 2026 20:15:24
Chelsea were the only club that had a bid accepted, so not sure that counts as Rogers choosing them over Arsenal.

2

18 Jul 2026 20:15:45
I recall one of the itk saying that Barcola prefers us over Arsenal, so hopefully that doesn't complicate things. I am most hoping for Rayan, I think this kid could be special!

6

18 Jul 2026 20:19:57
Kind of obvious. Let's see.

0

18 Jul 2026 20:22:46
Get Estevao!

5

18 Jul 2026 20:24:22
We need to start moving fast if we're going to sign Barcola.

4

18 Jul 2026 20:24:58
Oh, I know how this script goes. Our dithering lets Arsenal in to sign Barcola. We then fanny about in desperation, and either overpay for someone not very good, or we don't sign anyone and then there's a James Pearce article along the lines that "...having explored all the options, the club felt there was no value in the market and with the additional game time available, it was also felt that Elliott would be like a new signing...".

21

18 Jul 2026 20:26:45
It goes to show no one sits still in this league. Apparently Chelsea are interested in Wharton as well.

I'm not convinced he's right for us, but if we hover around waiting for Curtis to move, rather than acting decisively, another target could be missed.

Without CL football, they can concentrate on the league and could be a threat to our top 5 ambitions this season.

Villa are keeping active, and both Manc outfits, Arsenal stronger squad wise anyway, so it's going to be a lively season.

1

18 Jul 2026 20:28:36
That's who I'd love FPF.

2

18 Jul 2026 20:31:17
Honestly FPF, Estevao is not worth considering. He had a grade 4 hamstring tear, which is the worst of the worst. He is absolutely finished at the top.

3

18 Jul 2026 20:32:49
Rumours this evening that Arsenal are close to securing Alvarez. It's hotting up out there, good job Richard H is keeping cool under pressure.

3

18 Jul 2026 20:37:38
Barcola going Arsenal already agreed personal terms with them. Let's see how much influence Iraola actually has regarding the Rayan file. Still think we end up with Pedro Neto, unfortunately.

0

18 Jul 2026 20:47:49
I'd absolutely hope we don't go for Neto, absolutely crap him. Nothing footballer and has had some horrendous injury issues.

3

18 Jul 2026 20:52:05
Hope you're wrong, VV, but that has been our playbook from time to time. There are already noises coming from somewhere that we aren't pursuing any right backs, despite ITKs saying we were at the beginning of the window, and also now more noise about selling Curtis before we buy anyone for midfield, which is a new one all round.

Funnily enough, when we departed from the playbook last summer, our recruitment decision making didn't prove to be great, so perhaps it's better not to let RH have too much money to spend before he heads off to Saudi. Maybe let Iraola bed in, sort the wheat from the chaff, and then do some business in Jan.

0

18 Jul 2026 21:23:56
We will probably wait until the last day of the window, try and nab him cheaper, and he will go to the other club... like Guehi and Semenyo.

3

18 Jul 2026 21:05:58
VV - is there a legitimate source for that grade 4 hammy for Estevao? He seems to be participating in preseason when you'd expect surgery and at least 4 months out, if not more.

1

18 Jul 2026 21:30:10
Vik, it's not Monopoly money. If Iraola wants to review the squad before spending more money, then so be it.

If we want Barcola and he wants us, then I don't see an issue. He's still in the US after all.

6

18 Jul 2026 21:31:48
Like every other window, Rogers goes to Chelsea, and soon Barcolla will sign for Arsenal as a cheaper option than Rogers. LFC will miss out on filling the RW position, end up over paying for Wharton out of desperation.

We play Chiesa and Frimpong on RW for rest of the season and the saga continues. The last time we did a smarter business with signings of Salah, Mane, VVD was when Klopp had full control as a manager on transfer decisions.

1

18 Jul 2026 21:38:04
Another team signing someone else's target sends us into meltdown.

11

18 Jul 2026 21:39:26
Was in The Athletic. He's not worth consideration. Any sprint is going to be a risk, he'll be compromised any time he stretches himself the same way Owen was. He might appear to have made a recovery and be in training, but an injury that severe can never be fully recovered from. Very, very hard pass.

1

18 Jul 2026 21:50:00
Create a shortlist, find out if the player wants to join, make an offer, and if we can't agree on fee and contract, walk away!! I don't want any player that isn't 💯 wanting to sign for us. I'd rather player number 5 on the list that wants us and us only.

3

18 Jul 2026 22:03:54
I'm not too bothered about Rogers going to Chelsea, but you've got to admit they always seem to have that pull when it comes to signing top players. Arsenal missing out probably means they'll go even harder for a winger or another attacking player now. Could make the rest of the window pretty interesting for us.

The English tax is still alive.

1

18 Jul 2026 22:05:13
Just get Rayan, forget about Barcola, Rio is a few months away from being first choice LW anyway.

2

18 Jul 2026 22:58:48
Arsenal was willing to pay 105/110 million for Rogers & Chelsea knew this, so went in higher, knowing Arsenal wouldn't go higher. Rice, Saka, Eze & Noni have all been in his ear during the camp, but it's the Chelsea boys who are laughing. Apparently, this could see Palmer or Enzo being sold.

2

19 Jul 2026 00:04:13
Owen still wasn't a bad player after his big hamstring pop. Might never have had the absolutely electric pace he had beforehand, but was still ours and England's main man for years. Managed to grab a Ballon D'Or.

1

19 Jul 2026 00:12:42
Chelsea winger Estevao suffered a severe grade four hamstring tear during a match against Manchester United on April 18, 2026. Despite initial fears and medical recommendations for surgery from Chelsea, he avoided an operation and underwent conservative rehabilitation in his native Brazil, eyeing an early August return to action. New York Times.

18 Jul 2026 23:08:51
My god Vik you are tediously negative aren't you? I normally just scroll past your posts but this one caught my attention.

The doomsday predictions are so bloody boring. I bet you're a real hit at dinner parties.

7

19 Jul 2026 00:41:15
That's very unfair, Rio.. I often read Victor's posts multiple times when I need my day brightened up.

1

19 Jul 2026 01:33:39
VV, I can always sign for LFC, get Hughes to call my agent.

1

19 Jul 2026 00:49:24
Owen was as good as useless after his hamstring went. As Estevao will be. He's finished as a footballer before his career has begun, grade 4 is the absolute worst and by all accounts his hamstring was hanging by threads. Why anyone would seriously want someone who'd been through that kind of injury beggars belief.

Barcola will end up at Arsenal as we've been twiddling our thumbs and they won't want to lose out twice. Normal service resumed.

As for you Riosstepover, just because you lack the capacity for critical thought, don't assume others are at your exceptionally low bar. And don't act like this has not happened before. Because it has, multiple times. We are very likely to either sign someone woeful (like Neto) in desperation or sign no one citing "no value in the market" and writing off another season.

Personally I've very low expectations from Hughes at this point as he's got one foot out the door. I feel for Iraola as it feels he's being set up to fail by lack of suppprt by those above him.

1

19 Jul 2026 02:47:55
111 goals in 5 seasons after his hamstring injury, and was still only 24 when he left for Madrid. Bloody useless.

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed078's Note - sat next to him on a flight to Hong Kong in 2018. Was very generous with his time. At one point an attendant asked if it was OK for a kid to come upstairs and say hello. He got up and went downstairs to meet the kid and his family. I reckon he was gone for a good hour or more (I finished off his Chateau Briand, it shouldn't air for too long as we all know). I asked what kept him so long? He said he was playing fifa with the kid on his console.

7

19 Jul 2026 07:01:05
What you didn't see, ed78, is that he beat the kid 12 nil an laughed in his face after every goal 😂 but in all seriousness, that was a nice gesture and something that kid will remember forever.

Michael Owen, doesn't watch films because they're not real, but he'll play video games haha.

19 Jul 2026 09:23:10
Jesus Christ, AI has already said we need more players in, so expect him to get them. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes, so just chill, follow the information on here, no need to be panicking.

0

19 Jul 2026 11:15:23
It's common to lose your pace after a serious muscle injury, but you can adapt. R9 is a great example. It's also not as serious today, as surgical interventions are much better than they used to be. Estevao will be fine, his game isn't built around speed anyway.

0

18 Jul 2026 18:54:42
Reds,

Chelsea signing Rogers means Arsenal are now heavily interested in signing Barcola after they missed out on Rogers.

I hope we make the move very soon and get in before Arsenal before it’s too late.

Player side, he is keen to join.

9

18 Jul 2026 20:31:54
Well, continue to monitor as he joins Arsenal.

6

18 Jul 2026 21:51:36
Let him go if that's his choice, move on, quality players available everywhere. Desire to play for us should be the priority!!

4

18 Jul 2026 23:01:10
@vv, is your glass always half empty?? I don't think I've ever read a positive post from you. 🤣 🤣

No idea how legit he is, but Pipe Sierra has just announced that Samuel Martinez (17) is travelling to the UK along with his family and agent to complete the final steps to join Liverpool. The Colombian midfielder was highly sought after by a number of big clubs, but opted to join Liverpool in the end.

A big get, apparently.

It was said that Hughes had success when dipping into the South American market, so fingers crossed this all works out.

16

18 Jul 2026 15:32:39
Giving Iraola the squad he needs to be successful.

3

18 Jul 2026 15:44:29
I suspect it'll be the manager after Iraola that enjoys the fruit of all these youth signings - unless Iraola is successful enough over the next 2 years to sign an additional contract, which, of course, is the hope.

9

18 Jul 2026 16:12:49
Hw was the one that announced the Diaz transfer

3

18 Jul 2026 16:33:30
Seems a decent prospect. Agreeing a deal now to complete next summer (2027), as he doesn't turn 18 until April 27.

3

18 Jul 2026 16:36:52
I suspect it'll be tough til Christmas, then we'll only lose one game in 2027. 2027/28 PL winners. 2028/29 PL and CL winners. 2029/30 completes the hat trick of PL titles plus 5 other trophies.

7

18 Jul 2026 16:46:09
James Pearce has just confirmed that we are set to sign him, but he won't join for another 12 months.

2

18 Jul 2026 18:57:22
@OP, When you say he's 'a big get' just how tall and heavy is he? Sorry can't help it.

3

18 Jul 2026 19:53:45
I did wonder if he meant get or git.

2

18 Jul 2026 20:22:21
