Ed, is it true that Fulham still not giving the green light for Bayern to sign Palhinha yet and there's only one hour until the German transfer window close? And the Gravenberch deal still not completed because of this?

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - Fulham have had a problem brining in Palhinha's replacement and they have until 1800CET to agree the move to Bayern Munich - they can request to send the paperwork later.}

1.) 01 Sep 2023 16:25:45
That half an hour left right? If Fulham don't agree with Palhinha move, will this Gravenberch deal be off?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, half an hour. It should not be an issue.}

2.) 01 Sep 2023 17:05:49
So it is off between Palhinha to Bayern I heard. Would that mean Gravenberch is also off as Bayern can't sign his replacement?

3.) 01 Sep 2023 17:27:30
Do Bayern really need to replace Gravenberchs mins from last season?
He barely kicked a ball.

4.) 01 Sep 2023 17:28:35
If the Gravenberch deal takes a knock because of this, why not just got for Palhinha!

5.) 01 Sep 2023 17:29:48
Gravenberch deal will be off as transfer was contingent on Bayern getting Palhinha in. Could Liverpool turn to Fulham as an alternative.

6.) 01 Sep 2023 17:29:28
Ed002 - sorry to ask. Looks like Grav should be confirmed tonight regardless of Fulham and Bayern not agreeing to let Paulinho go. Are Liverpool working on anyone else? A defender be nice or Salah replacement if we unfortunately agree to a ridiculous high offer.

{Ed002's Note - Not that Ian aware.}

7.) 01 Sep 2023 17:40:53
I'd of been on palhinha 1st. but obviously they won't let him leave as they can't get the player they want now. Too late.

{Ed002's Note - A lesson learned.}

8.) 01 Sep 2023 17:41:29
Whos Ian.

9.) 01 Sep 2023 17:43:03
Gravenberch deal done and not reliant on Paulina.

10.) 01 Sep 2023 17:44:33
Don’t know where everyone is getting it’s off everyone’s who is reporting on it had said the Fulham lads got nothing to do with Graveberch leaving.

11.) 01 Sep 2023 17:50:16
We never learn though ed. I'd be offering Jones and cash for him. Worth a try. He's too good for fulham.

12.) 01 Sep 2023 17:56:18
Liverpool have been interested in Gravenberch since his Ajax days. So now they’ve got him and he’s only recently turned 20.
I wonder will we see a return for Andre in Jan?

13.) 01 Sep 2023 18:54:48
Gravenberch paid for his own plane ticket so would be very cross.

14.) 01 Sep 2023 18:55:37
Welcome to Liverpool Ryan Gravenberch.

15.) 01 Sep 2023 19:54:57
I really wouldve liked us to go for Palhinha . Could see him really making a difference.

16.) 01 Sep 2023 18:04:40
Possibly not now we’ve got Gravenberch. Ed02 what are your thoughts on the red’s transfer window and the players we’ve got.

{Ed002's Note - Gravenberch is a great addition and Dominik Szoboszlai is a very good player, but very, very expensive. Alexis Mac Allister Is a fine player for the price. Wataru Endo is a bit of an oddity for me but is a cheap option for DM. I think CB should have been addressed. The club will do OK.}

17.) 01 Sep 2023 21:22:42
@Burrows Ian aware is a spell check error of Ian Ayre, he's been working behind the scenes this window. Lol.

18.) 01 Sep 2023 21:32:54
Thanks Ed02, I totally agree on CB, I see it as an error not pushing for a LCB.

11 Aug 2023 01:40:57
So Caicedo to Liv is really happening Ed? Will it break the British transfer record?

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have made an offer above what Chelsea were prepared to pay. They also offer a sell on clause.}

1.) 11 Aug 2023 09:32:15
Sell on clause as in if we sell Caicedo in the future, Brighton will get some of the money?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

10 Aug 2023 11:21:29
Do you know if we have bid for Caicedo Ed?

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - I am aware that someone has said that Liverpool have made an offer but at this time all I know is that whilst Liverpool would be interested in the player, I am not aware of any approach to Brighton.}

1.) 10 Aug 2023 12:10:03
Do Liv have the capability to make this kind of signing Ed? In other word, can Liv afford spending close to 100M for a player?

{Ed002's Note - I really do not want to get in to the finances.}

2.) 10 Aug 2023 12:19:00
Fair enough Ed. Do you know if the player have any preferences? Read that he prefer a move to Chelsea.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea as Liverpool has not been an option.}

07 Jun 2023 11:48:18
Ed, do you know what kind of fee are Liv paying for MacAllister? Seen all kind of different reports about the fee. Some saying its 60M, some saying its 45M~50M, Romano saying its 35M. can't believe its 35M honestly.

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - The fee will be shown on the TMS after the 14th.}

1.) 07 Jun 2023 14:44:00
Get ready ed2 for the same question to be asked everyday till it’s announced
I feel a lot of RTFP.

2.) 07 Jun 2023 15:11:47
I can't imagine 35M is true. Given Fabrizio's history, it's a strategic lie thrown out there to drive attention to his social media accounts.

3.) 07 Jun 2023 15:45:01
Mate a headline and put that rtp before posting lol.

31 Mar 2023 22:33:42
Saw a news outlet saying Liv one of interested team for Khepren Thuram. Do you know anything about this Ed? Seems to be a good young player.

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - I have dealt with this before - Read The Posts:

Khephren Thuram (DM/CM) Interest of Manchester United has returned. Interest of Newcastle and Crystal Palace remains although I would discount Crystal Palace. RBL want him as a Laimer replacement and will push following initial discussions. Liverpool asked Nice about his availability given that they looking to add a more DM player and he could become foirst choice. If interest grows his price will rise and the club would sell given the emergence of Alexis Beka Beka and an impressive youngster in Reda Belahyane. Player wants PSG but they have no interest at this time.}

1.) 01 Apr 2023 10:38:58
Cut out the middle man and sign the two young lads instead ?.

2.) 01 Apr 2023 11:44:37
If Caicedo and Kone are not possible, Thuram would be a good plan C.

3.) 01 Apr 2023 20:25:30
Thuram sounds like a good choice to me.

Ndicka and Thuram would be a mighty start.

If only we could add belingham to that I'd be in Dreamland.

4.) 01 Apr 2023 23:31:03
Davey I know we need a new midfield, but I actually think the defence is even worse. It needs sorted asap. It’s okay to have a rough patch and a poor season etc, but this is a new low. This season has been one of the worst I can remember and I lived through souness and Hodgson and some of Rogers.
The mentality of the team is horrific and Klopp looks like he has run out of ideas. Before people start jumping all over me here, it’s not Klopps fault. It’s the players. Although bringing on Ox against City when 3-1 down told me all I needed to know? Klopp and the players have given up on top 4. I genuinely don’t think they are good enough, or deserve too 4 this season. There are much better teams above them. We have lost 9 games. That is absolutely shocking for a Liverpool team. Bellingham will not change this. The team is in disarray and we keep insisting in playing this stupid formation where Trent and Robbo play ahead of the strikers and Virgil is walking about and Allison basically has to defend and do keeper. It’s not even entertaining, it’s rubbish to watch and I’ve wasted so many weekends this season watching complete dross. But I keep going back because I’m a glutton for punishment. It’s not really a matter of poor form, it’s because the team has stopped trying, and that is worrying for me. They just aren’t trying anymore and it’s criminal that he doesn’t have any back up players for these muppets that can’t defend.

5.) 02 Apr 2023 13:45:24
Colin, we are playing basketball games. The opposition are able to run at our back four at will and even the best defenders in the world will struggle with the sheer number of attacks they face. We need to fix the midfield and the tactics and you'll see an improved defence.

I do agree that we need at least one new CB this summer to replace Matip and possibly Gomez if he chooses to move on for first team football.

If Calvin Ramsey can prove his fitness in pre-season then I would give him a shot to challenge Trent. If he cannot prove his fitness, perhaps bringing in a fullback that can play on both right and left side would be the smartest thing to do. Perhaps Kyle Walker-Peters could be a decent shout.

Ed1, just saw a stat where Doku dribbled past Trent for a record 8 or 7 times. I mean how does that even being count. Like how many times does "being dribbled past" amount to something yesterday. And peoples used that stat to say that Trent is being cooked by Doku. When you think about it, it is a ridiculous stupid stat.

mfahmee2

{Ed001's Note - I am not a fan of the way stats are used in the media, xG is the biggest load of bollox ever thought up. The most meaningless nonsense ever.}

1.) 26 Nov 2023 07:20:10
HaHa spot on 01 a very astute way of describing the complete nonsense being introduced by the **** at Sky.

2.) 26 Nov 2023 08:03:19
If Gary Neville can say that TAA "is the equal of Kevin Debruyne in delivery of the ball, striking of a ball and his passing, then you know something" world-class" is there. Granted Neville slates TAA for some of his defensive work, but I saw nothing alarming yesterday in the contest between Doku and TAA. Doku has special speed and trickery and he's going to get past all RB's several times a game; look at what he's done to others so far this year. He's that good. But you could see TAA was focused on the job yesterday and we didn't suffer any significant damage as most of us feared, despite ManC focusing on Doku's side for attack. The goal they scored had more to do with Alisson than with Szoboszlai and TAA letting Ake slide in between them.

3.) 26 Nov 2023 08:08:08
Trent was good yesterday defensively against a v good opponent. don't know where this narrative that doku wrecked him, got by him few times alright but trent won his share of 1 on 1s and defended well. couldve done better in stopping ake for goal but ali kick was the main problem, we weren't set at all.
I would've been critical at times of trents defending but that just a case of giving a dog a bad name.

4.) 26 Nov 2023 08:12:26
Yeah not a fan of stats really myself

Clean sheets
Goals scored and possession ( even possession means nothing really)

Are the 3 I look at .

Unfortunately it’s because we live in the age of information and everything needs labelling and quantified for it to be explained or justified.

The score and result are all that matter

Can anyone tell me our xg against villa earlier this year ?.

5.) 26 Nov 2023 08:23:47
Trent played very well. Doku offered a lot less threat than expected. Trent’s mistake was when he let Ake dance past him but he definitely made up for that.

6.) 26 Nov 2023 08:31:36
Agree with ArAy. Doku is special. He will hammer most full backs of the world. How did city sign him for that cheap?

7.) 26 Nov 2023 09:04:26
When Salah or Diaz go past full backs at will it’s because they are class.

When wingers or forwards go past our centre half’s or full backs then it’s because our defence are crap.

It’s almost like no other team can have class forwards.

Reality of it is a defender can keep a player quite for the majority of a game but once that forward scores or creates an assist it’s all turned on its head and the narrative is the forward was better for the whole game when in reality it’s not.

If a forward is that much better in 90 mins then they should be scoring or creating 10 plus goals.

8.) 26 Nov 2023 09:43:37
Habibi - I’m not sure Doku is that special, though he’s only 21 so he may well become great. City and Guardiola clearly thought Trent/ Matip would be easy pickings for Doku and Haaland yesterday, channeling nearly all their attacks down the left. I don’t recall a single instance of Foden taking on Tsimikas on the other side. Doku had chance after chance to make something happen and couldn’t. He’s a fast, tricky player but his ability doesn’t compensate for the extra control Grealish brings to Man City even if the latter is a much worse player.

9.) 26 Nov 2023 09:54:47
What I saw yesterday that was different from the way we defended and especially Trent was that we defended the flanks more and so forced city to come inside more where there was more protection, I know there was a few times they got by on the outside but that was more on the break than anything. All in all I thought we coped well!

10.) 26 Nov 2023 10:26:20
You have a point on Foden @Love. I thought he would hammer Tsmiskas. Thankfully that didn’t happen.
I like Doku and I can understand why Liveprool were keen about the player at one stage.

11.) 26 Nov 2023 10:31:11
Doku reminds me of Sadio Mane.

That’s Sadio Mane in 15 years time at a Liverpool legends match where he’s overweight with Turkey Teeth and lives off Gaviscon.

12.) 26 Nov 2023 11:15:40
Ironically he matched doku fairly well all things considered.

It was the ake challenge that was really poor defensively.

13.) 26 Nov 2023 11:36:46
I think the stat is brilliant.

You can troll Man City fans posting about it on Twatter by asking them how many goals and assists Doku, who did most of the dribbling, got.

14.) 26 Nov 2023 12:38:09
What does the "dribbling past" stat even mean? It mean sweet nothing and the lads on here have said so. It probably does not occur to this generation of fans that a winger dribbling past a RB is literally doing his job, first and foremost. it is what he does afterwards that matter which clearly, is lost on them. Sad.

Now does their stats show that Trent was ushering him on purpose into specific positions/ areas where Doku could not hurt us nor get any end product? Does their stats show how Trent was where he was supposed to be defensively almost all game to defend Doku and all the other things City threw at us? Again, tons of fans talk footie BUT literally do NOT watch football.

15.) 26 Nov 2023 12:57:38
Anybody else felt Matip had a good game too and helped Trent down the right?

16.) 26 Nov 2023 13:48:48
Matip was again like vs Brentford, outstanding Keith.

17.) 26 Nov 2023 18:41:04
I remember telling my eldest, just wish he was 25 again, as on his Day, he's a great CB.

18.) 26 Nov 2023 23:09:14
Exactly Oli, what Trent did was he allowed Doku to get the ball and run at him but ushered him into spaces where he wasn’t going to be dangerous.

If we’re looking for a RB that Doku could never dribble past then I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed as he doesn’t exist.

What Trent did well was he didn’t get too tight and allow himself to be taken out of the game. Of the times that Doku did manage to get past him he was still putting him under pressure and forcing him to rush his next move.

19.) 27 Nov 2023 09:16:18
"What Trent did well was he didn’t get too tight and allow himself to be taken out of the game".

THIS!

08 Oct 2023 23:45:26
Ed1, just curious as to why we tend to use a LB as the first man when defending a left sided set pieces and a RB for right sided set pieces? The way i see it, when the ball is keep in play after the set pieces, we have this awkward moment of a LB having to play at RB position and vice versa.

It took a ball out of play before they can switch back. Also in yesterday situation, if Trent or Gomez were the first man they.

mfahmee2

{Ed001's Note - that is something I don't understand either. I did make a point of asking after having this discussion with Ed77 the other day but I have yet to receive a response.}

1.) 09 Oct 2023 04:38:49
I accidently send the post before finishing Ed1. Yesterday for example, if Trent or Gomez were the first man, they could have clear the ball easily because they are right footed.

Watching the replay of second goal, you could see that Robbo need to slightly switch his body to clear the ball using his left leg. I don't know whether that cause some hesitation for him or he is afraid to score an own goal ala Matip last week.

Do you think this is another example of us complicating a simple things. Just like the dreaded inverted things which by the look of it we will stick to no matter what happen.

{Ed001's Note - very much so. There are so many disadvantages to swapping it seems senseless.}

2.) 09 Oct 2023 05:51:50
I was very impressed with Brighton, especially in the first half.
Where do they get these unknown players from, young, quick, extremely mobile.
In hindsight that was a bad move to put Elliott into that, although I suppose it tells us something.
His most meaningful contribution was leaving that pass alone for Salah to slot in.
Rightly subbed as the game passed him by at an alarming rate of knots.
Second half was much better and I think that was a decent point in the end, there won't be many more difficult away fixtures than that.
Gravenberch did well coming on, unlucky not to score and that may have sealed the three points.
But a draw was fair enough all told.
Good game to watch most importantly.

3.) 09 Oct 2023 05:56:40
On another note Ed, Gross should have been sent off right for the penalty last night right? He didn't make any attempt to play the ball, so a clear red I would think.

{Ed001's Note - defo red mate. No idea how he got away without a card.}

4.) 09 Oct 2023 09:57:29
Speaking of getting away with it ed001, you see them kovacic tackles? If the refs are taking big oil stained envelopes they are not hiding it very well. Lol.

{Ed001's Note - I didn't bother watching that game as those two teams bore me. So no sorry, but I am not surprised. It has always been the case for City midfielders that anything short of decapitation of an opponent was just a booking and then only if forced on the referee or it was the last few seconds.}

5.) 09 Oct 2023 11:28:14
Ed01 this is just my theory but I think the FB's are in opposite positions defensively should a counter attack occur where if Robbo or most importantly Trent has the ball and with is world class passing ability, he can find a player when he checks back to his right foot with the whole width of the pitch to aim at. I know. It sounds weird but that's all I could come up with.

As for Gross, the guy didn't even get a talking to, let alone a card. Nothing has changed.

{Ed001's Note - I have heard that theory suggested before, but as it is still used when Gomez plays at right-back or Tsimikas at left-back, I think it is more about laziness of the coaching staff. It is much easier to prepare the team to just set up the same way for every corner - whichever side it is on. Whereas trying to teach the right-back to defend the front post on one corner and the back stick on another is a lot more effort. Though they will say it is better to coach them to play the same role as they will be better at it, I just think it is too inflexible and leaves the defence open to a team mixing things up.

We do lack flexibility in defending set pieces, we do the same thing every time and that just means a good set piece coach can figure out ways around it.}

6.) 09 Oct 2023 12:28:58
"Trying to teach the right-back to defend the front post on one corner and the back stick on another is a lot more effort".

This part, I do not understand either. Too much unnecessary stuff involved here which can cause losses of concentration cos your brain could be fried depending on the way the game is going.

But hey, what are we going to do. Maybe this is a blind spot that the coaches do not think is that necessary and think doing the basics the way they see it, is enuff.

7.) 09 Oct 2023 17:19:20
The thing that does my head in is, at every kick off, the ball gets played to the right sided centre back, who hoofs it long towards the left wing area. We’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember. If I can spot it, so can every manager in the division. So from the kick off, we give the ball away every time. Maybe that’s part of the reason we start games slowly, as we give meaningful possession away at the start of every game.

{Ed025's Note - if thats the only moan you can come up with RM you must be doing very well mate..

8.) 09 Oct 2023 18:55:31
Redmersey, we have been playing this way for years now esp. with Sadio who was brilliant in the air hence we played this way and you are now just noticing it now? Where have you been for the past several years?

And yeah, pretty sure every coach in the PL has spotted this and have done so for years now includint the season we won the league. Im not sure that is the problem, mate. IMO, There are more serious issues that-n that like the plethora of individual mistakes which are actually killing us right now, rather than some old tactic that has been in place for years.

02 Oct 2023 07:32:43
Ed1, is this Hooper guy the same ref which fail to give Wolves their last minute penalty when Onana barged into Wolves player? Pgmol release an apology statement after that match right? So its the same guy with the same apology statement. Another two weeks holiday coming up for the ref team to take them out of limelight for a while.

mfahmee2

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

1.) 02 Oct 2023 08:41:23
He bottled the one at Old Trafford and he wasn't even doing his job on Saturday.
He should be given a permanent holiday.

2.) 02 Oct 2023 08:41:23
I think he should come and be the linesman for our next home game vs Everton

That’s all the punishment he’ll need.

3.) 02 Oct 2023 09:22:58
Klopp said it best. Hooper had NO control of that game whatsoever. That is what was most scathing about his conduct. He just kept on giving Spurs majority of the 50/ 50 calls including the Jones red which mind you, he saw it happen in real time and gave him a yellow.

4.) 02 Oct 2023 11:46:09
Do you know why there is no foreign referee in EPL Ed? Knowing that PL ref can go doing side job in middle east, and get back being in VAR booth within 48 hours why not take foreign ref to replace them. I'm sure they can do better job than the PL ref.

{Ed001's Note - because the PGMOL is too arrogant to admit it needs the help.}

01 Oct 2023 03:03:00
Will you make a match review Ed1? Because i don't think there is much to say other than disgraceful, utterly pathetic referee performance. I think last night is the worst refereeing performance i have ever seen.

mfahmee2

{Ed001's Note - yes I will.}

1.) 01 Oct 2023 04:00:36
What is it about the first goal Ed? How there is no line drawn at all. Is there a rule saying that once the play is resume, the decision will stand even though VAR realise they make a mistake?

{Ed001's Note - no, it is either outright cheating or the var official was too embarrassed to admit his mistake. There is nothing to stop the play being brought back, just as they can choose to have the game replayed.}

2.) 01 Oct 2023 04:31:52
I don’t buy PGMOL explanation that VAR thought on field decision was a goal and so told them to stick with it. None of it makes sense.

And even if that was the case what the heck is wrong with the culture and environment for officials that they simply couldn’t just communicate to each other and get the call right.

That is the real problem with these officials is that they’ve got so much process and guidelines around making a decision that simple common sense has become impossible.

3.) 01 Oct 2023 04:51:14
The two red cards I would understand ordinarily, though at a stretch in both cases. The disallowed goal is inexplicable, though. Completely inexplicable. The way they rushed through the VAR and didn’t draw lines like they would any other time showed they had no intention of awarding that goal. They hadn’t expected Liverpool to bounce back so soon after the first awful decision.
I believe some people other than football fans got the result they wanted today, and possibly instructed. We simply can’t keep letting these officials off with ‘incompetence’ when it often reeks of something else.
Tottenham should offer to play the game again, though I think they’d rather jump off a cliff than go another 90 with an eleven-man Liverpool. The Premier League would also no doubt refuse.

A word on Jota - I’d have him training with the under 21s for his little cameo today. Though it was the wrong tactical switch from Klopp initially (with 10 men you need players that are technically secure and rarely make mistakes in possession - Jota can’t control a football), Jota repaid his manager’s faith with the worst substitute appearance of all time. He immediately lost possession in dangerous areas, gave away silly free kicks, bumped into people as always, and offered no threat to give us an out ball and relieve the pressure on our defence. Then, the stupidest (second) yellow card ever to let his teammates’ amazing, defiant efforts go to waste.

Lastly, thank you to the other 15 players in red today. That was a remarkable display of resilience and we were so close to walking away with a massive “F U” to the corrupt souls that decided that match before kick-off. A very proud Liverpool fan.

4.) 01 Oct 2023 04:58:15
I always think it's quite funny when people overreact and say everything is corrupt whenever there is a bad decision. But, I have to admit it even crossed my mind with the Diaz goal. I am still not sure what to say. ?.

5.) 01 Oct 2023 05:00:04
Didn't macca score a pen for brighton after the game was finished last season?

6.) 01 Oct 2023 04:11:09
Did you mean the segment of the game replayed or the whole match Ed 01?

For all other decisions, they had the covering of the subjective nature of decisions. Eg not in line of sight, not clear or obvious, it depends on how physical the ref allows it to be etc. but offside has been something they kept claiming is objective science that there is no Grey area. Then this happens.

Essentially, VAR has failed what it perceives it’ll never make a mistake on.

I sat bin it.

Use goal line technology.
There is some automated offside? If it’s good, use it. If not, just let linesmen do the work.
Var should be not be involved in any decisions, be it red card, penalty whatever. Since it’s subjective.
The only time to use VAR is if the referee sent off the wrong player and just needed someone to tell him card the right person. Otherwise, it has no use.

{Ed001's Note - they can do either if they choose. They have the power to decide that.}

7.) 01 Oct 2023 06:45:07
doubt they will do it though
Wolves for one will be asking for the same and they will open up a can of worms they cannot contain
and it would take humility, integrity and honesty, something they clearly lack
when city is crowned champions again by 1 point, guess they will apologise again?

8.) 01 Oct 2023 08:53:00
for the off side and may other decisions if they say it was misunderstanding the easy solution is regardless they should simply speak the words "the VAR decision is. Goal" or "No Goal" regardless. not simply say yes go with it. and anyway wouldn't it have gone in the screen that the decision was Goal. such levels of incompetence. Ed01 do you think it is an agenda for or against a specific team or teams or just corruption in general to rig results for financial gain or SEO thing? I just can't understand the amount of easy decisions they get wrong.

{Ed001's Note - I think it is all of those things. There are different things going on all at once. There has always been an agenda, there has always been corruption and match fixing swept under the carpet. Now there is spot fixing as well involved and a certain team with a managerial team who have a history of paying for favourable treatment from officials.}

Which team ed01? City? Understand if you can’t spill the beans openly

And yes I totally reject their explanation
No way in hell a miscommunication covers it all

There was so many opportunities this could have been sorted. Let’s give benefit of doubt that the circumstance were true
- VAR thought onfield have a goal
- VAR said, check compete, decision remains
- free kick is taken, scoreline remains 0-0, screen says VAR decision - offside
- VAR should scream to onfield and say, hey idiot, what are you doing? I said check complete, it’s a goal, restart the game from Center circle!

You mean to tell me VAR decided, ah, he made a clear and obvious error, but hey, since the game moved on, let’s give him a pass, it’ll even itself out.

Then what do we need VAR for? To cover up or better still, create clear and obvious errors?

{Ed001's Note - yes City, Pep started his career with favourable reffing in Barca which is only just being uncovered in Spain right now. Those same people that were working with the refs at Barca are now in charge of the football side of City. The same City that have already been found guilty of over 60 charges of cheating by UEFA, which unfortunately were mostly time barred. Their lies about them being found innocent should have been challenged forcibly by UEFA, as it is an outright lie. City even paid a fine in acknowledgement of their guilt of the charges that were not time barred. They are facing over 100 charges now from the Prem, of which most of the previous charges they have already been found guilty of are involved, so why is it taking so long to deal with it? Simple, they pay whatever it takes because that is how it works.}

10.) 01 Oct 2023 12:28:51
Ed01, I guess the so called "conspiracy theories" about City being able to pay off who ever they want to get the result required were actually a thing, the whole time.

{Ed001's Note - clearly. That is the way the world works sadly.}

Hi Ed1, do you have any players that you would like to see in Liv shirt? I know how high you rate Jude and Gvardiol but both would obviously not going to play for Liv. Anyone out there in the same mould that you would think would transform this Liv side in the way Ali and VVD has transform us. Ignoring the tactical side of things of course.

mfahmee2

{Ed001's Note - off the top of my head there is the obvious Mbappe and Saliba. Ronald Araujo I like too but again highly unlikely. I am limiting myself to younger players rather than thinking about older players as then there might be a slim possibility of them moving in a few years. Bastoni, for example. I do like the look of Colwill as well while on the subject of centre-backs.

In left-backs there is Alphonso Davies and Kerkez has been impressive for Bournemouth this season, so could be worth keeping an eye on. Hungarian as well, so would give Szobszlai someone from home to talk to.

Right-backs there is Hakimi, obviously, not really anyone else I have seen that stands out, though there are a few that are highly rated I wouldn't put them in without watching them myself.

In midfield there is Rice, Tchouameni, Bruno Guimaraes, Florentino Luis, Camavinga.

Forwards there is Musiala, Wirtz, Vini Jr, Leao, Saka, maybe Pino (only seen him once so far but he was excellent), Bakayoko, I have to be honest from what I have seen of Hojlund he will do well in England, Balogun, Ferguson.}

1.) 08 Sep 2023 06:00:09
I thought the Balogun sale was very strange by Arsenal. Jesus can be a useful player but is increasingly injury-prone, and his ability to miss easy chances is almost as bad as Sterling’s. Nketiah is a busy, hardworking player but will unlikely ever have the quality to be the main striker for a top side. Perhaps it was an easy sale to bring in some funds after their ridiculous spending over the past 3 seasons.

{Ed001's Note - it was a mistake. They should have sold Nketiah or Jesus. In fact they should never have bought Jesus and just given Balogun a chance.}

2.) 08 Sep 2023 07:25:06
Don't mention Liv on here please.
We've had quite enough of the Saudis for one Summer ?
What happened to this £200m bid lol?
I reckon that was a concocted story by the media.
As Johnny Rotten said in The Great Rock n Roll Swindle "Ever have the feeling you've been had"?

3.) 08 Sep 2023 08:56:51
Ed1, I think it is quite likely that this is going to be Salah last season with us. To replace him, do you prefer up coming young players in Bakayoko or Pino who also are right winger by natural?

Or someone more established like Leao, Kvicha or Musiala who play more on the left and changing them to right winger like we did with Mane? Assuming they are available and we can afford them of course.

I like the idea of Szobo on the right but it would take him away from the midfield. Unless Trent fully committed to playing as midfielder, i don't think its worth taken Szobo away from midfield.

{Ed001's Note - I would rather go for Bakayoko or Pino.}

4.) 08 Sep 2023 09:18:56
Maybe Doak or Gordon or even Cannonier will have put their name forward as a potential candidate by next summer?

5.) 08 Sep 2023 23:51:06
WDW, you don’t want that type of pressure on such young and most importantly, untested young guns at this level.

How do I search for that CB list ED? Any names to search for?

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - I don't want to get involved in providing any lists at this time.}

Ed, when you say "far better, albeit far more expensive, options available" which player do you refer to?

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - I have been through this previously.}

Are they really going to throw in 200M Ed? That is really a lot of money.

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - Something like that but it will be a lower amount and add ons.}

So it is off between Palhinha to Bayern I heard. Would that mean Gravenberch is also off as Bayern can't sign his replacement?

That half an hour left right? If Fulham don't agree with Palhinha move, will this Gravenberch deal be off?

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - Yes, half an hour. It should not be an issue.}

Watching the news that Philippines get into another strong earthquake Ed1. Hoping all is well and you and you your family are not affected.

mfahmee2

{Ed001's Note - it must not have hit this island mate as I never noticed. We are all fine, well they all have flu but it is flu season here.}

ED1, you think something like composure in front of goal can be train? Its obviously different finishing in training and finishing in real match where the stakes is so different. Or it is something you develop as you grow old and playing more match?

mfahmee2

{Ed001's Note - it can be both or neither. It really depends on so much. It is certainly possible to develop it through training, in fact that is one of the main aims of training is to make finishing, passing, control of the ball etc natural. But it can also be something that comes naturally with experience, as you gain perspective on life and what is truly important.}

I would prefer us to be careful with him Ed1. Don't want us to rush him in one way or the other. I don't want us to make a mistake like Barcelona who keep grinding their youngsters to the ground.

They did it with Pedri and Gavi. Look at how often Pedri is injured. We have a gem in Bajcetic and we have the midfield now where he doesn't need to be rush to play.

Ed1, I'm just curious. The tactician that you mentioned before Ljinders is Buvac right. And Buvac quit just before a period where we won everything that is in club football. So obviously, Buvac is not the one responsible for our way of playing during that time.

My question is who is responsible during that period of time? Is it Ljinders or other coaches? And why are we changing the way we were playing so drastically. It is obviously working so well for us, so why the drastic change.

mfahmee2

{Ed001's Note - but it was his style of footie, just tweaked. It is a bit like why Everton were better the first season after Moyes left or Brighton last season. They, like us, had a solid base provided by the previous set up and added their own bits to it. Initially that paid off, but long term they move away from the original set up to their own way of playing and it gradually goes awry. That is what happened with us.}

Chambers to start today Ed1? To be honest, Tsimikas has been really poor for us this season. You agree with decision to give him new contract Ed?

mfahmee2

{Ed001's Note - I would start Chambers. As for Tsimikas, it is clear his confidence is shot and we should have signed a left-sided defender in the summer. But we all knew that anyway.}
