Eds - I wonder what part do clubs take in reigning in social media posts from their players?
Without politicising this forum, a tweet went out today from Mane that I (and others) will strongly disagree with nad find upsetting.
Is it a free reign or monitored in some way?
Once more, not looking to start a debate here (likely to be quite boring) rather curious how these thing work.

Thanks!

The Jurgenator

{Ed002's Note - Typically the clubs have all players briefed about their responsibilities at the start of the season and will remind them if issues arise - that should be enough. Mane has raised a religious and political issue which will attract attention. If he were to make any symbology in front of the press at a game he will need to be punished as many others have been.}

1.) 11 May 2021 18:16:22
That particular issue is probably one of the thorniest in world politics today. More twists and turns than a twisty-turny thing, and probably best for most people to keep out of, as Mane should have done.

Thanks for the reply ed.

Hi eds,
After today's events, I am wondering who might foot the bill?
Playing devils advocate only - can a subscriber ask for their relative subscription?
If so- can Sky demand it from the mancs?
Is there insurance for these sort of stuff?
Or is it just a case of playing again when rescheduled and no repercussion?
Many thanks!

The Jurgenator

1.) 02 May 2021 20:58:18
What bill exactly? Is this the best you can do?

2.) 02 May 2021 21:24:21
I’m quite happy it was cancelled, thought we were in for a pasting. Unpopular opinion, but those fans are unsung heroes, the likes of which should be carried on the shoulders of townsfolk wherever they go, if only for making my afternoon a bit happier.

3.) 02 May 2021 21:26:30
I think he means the catering bill, all those wasted prawn sandwiches.

4.) 02 May 2021 21:47:46
I’ve heard their prawn sandwiches are terrible. No wonder it broke out in violence. Quite frankly I’d be putting my foot through the f***er and sending the executors of Malcolm Glazers estate the bill too.

5.) 02 May 2021 22:34:48
I kindly propose you reread my post.
It is written in pretty simple English (hint - it is not to do with any prawns. )

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not sure the legalities of any compensation and who is the culprit. I’d assume it’s the police as they get paid to by the club to keep this kind of thing from not happening. Good luck getting you’re refund tho

6.) 02 May 2021 22:35:31
Eh, extra policing, damage to stadium, damage to pitch, damage to grounds, lost TV revenue, lost advertising revenue, bringing the game into disrepute, failure to control fans, extra costs of rescheduling fixture if it comes to that costs to clubs. Manu fans have totally let themselves down and embarrassed themselves and their club on a national and international scale. Huge huge fine, points deduction, public apology and automatic defeat are punishments that must be dished out.

7.) 02 May 2021 23:43:45
Thanks but wasn't looking for one 😃
Nothing but a devils advocate query.
If adverts are paid for an not ran because the game is cancelled, I would have to assume that someone, somewhere will not be happy and ask questions.

Can muster even half of the outrage about this CSL (for the record - oppose it like everyone else) to start talking about the 6500 (and counting) people who died building the outrageous Qatar WC?
Or do we only care when it comes to our own backyard interests?

Mate no one cares. These people talk about values, but they only mean their own and when it impacts them. Which I guess is a human thing, but it still comes across a bit high horse when these people also make it sound like they are of the highest virtue in all walks of life.

Ed1, Ben Davies posts in mind - how about an article on "best champo to premier League 11"?
Vardy in attack comes to mind - others?

The Jurgenator

{Ed001's Note - added that to my to do list for you mate.}

1.) 01 Feb 2021 11:30:05
England’s likely centre back pairing in the summer will be ex Championship in Maguire and Stones, or even Gomez.

2.) 01 Feb 2021 11:32:58
Ooh, good one that, Jurgnator.

Vardy is definitely on that list!

What about Antonio at West Ham? Deenie? Bolasie? Joe Hart? Our very own (for a while! ) Danny Ings? Although a lot of those were loans early in their career. I'll leave the research to Ed001!

3.) 01 Feb 2021 12:00:34
By the way, a decent analysis on Sky Sports of Ben Davies by Stephen Warnock if anyone's interested. Obvs picking out some good moments, but he seems to have the attributes that we need an possibly not as leftfield as we originally thought.

4.) 01 Feb 2021 12:14:32
Thanks ed man!
There I mention Tim Cahill? 😬
Amazing business at (from memory) £2 million outlay.

{Ed001's Note - aye what a leap on him! Showed that you don't need to be tall to win headers.}

Didn't Robertson play for a relegated side and Gez for Charlton?
Silly to judge a person just because they are from Preston.

Ame should spend less time on twitter and more time on the training pitch to get hus form back.
Oh and once again, I just love everything about Nate Phillips! Could have dropped his head after the own goal but thought was great again (even Williams pitched in with an outrageous pass at some point)
