Hi Eds, I was wondering if you could explain whether there is a significant difference in the time it takes to sign a player (of course that varies) and the time it takes to agree a loan. Rather than replacing Adrian who was on the end of some wicked reflections and a malfunctioning defence last night, I'd be happier if we could bring in a safe pair of hands in the Raggy Klavan mould for just a year. I like Matip but he's made of glass and Plan B seems to be the inexperienced Nat Phillips. Is it too late in the day? Cheers!

{Ed002's Note - It takes less time to orgainise a loan and there are a lot fewer things to sort out. Agreements (contracts) are much simpler but Work Permits and International Clearance is still required. Klavan might be in his early 30s now but that is no age for a goalkeeper.}

Ed02 is there a list of loan goal keepers we could get?
Knee jerk or not Adrian is a good shot stopper but he’s made more mistakes then karius and he was gated in no time!

{Ed002's Note - There are out of contract goalkeepers who are available as Free Agents and goalkeepers who have been informed that they are available on loan and their agents have been hawking them around - like the two goalkeepers Liverpool have loaned out.}

Adrian will be the guy moving forward, IMO.

I don't think you can accuse Adrian of Karius level howlers, he's more than an able deputy. Add to that his presence in the dressing room and he's a very good option imo. He made a mistake for the first goal, sure, but I don't think you can really blame him for the other 6!

{Ed025's Note - i have to say fornax i think alisson saves at least 2 of them mate..

Just for clarification, do you mean that we can't sign Garay specifically, or can we not sign any of the current free agents at all?

{Ed002's Note - Can't sign any free agents.}

As barakdee points out the rumored deal would be a minority stake in FSG, not LFC, which is quite a difference. If this actually happens, on one hand I would expect FSG to use some of the money to improve the Red Sox team, which has had a woeful system. On the other hand, if it boosts the coffers of our owners instead of saddling the club with debt like the Mancs it can only be a good thing. With no immediate end to C.V. in sight, stability is a major plus. I don't think this would mean we've hit the jackpot but I don't see it as en excuse for the tedious "yanks out" brigade to crawl out the woodwork.

Kloppdog, just to clarify, I wrote that he was the "worst buy" in our history, i. e. in financial terms. I don't think anyone would argue that 4 assists in two years is a poor return on investment for 54M! I think the majority of fans are just fed up with Keita, and feel sorry for Grujic. It's not really hypocritical at all. And yes, I do unfortunately remember Babb, Dundee, Poulson and many other candidates for the 'worst player' in our history. Cheers.

Feel so sorry for Grujic, the way he's been treated is as embarrassing as losing 7-2 to Villa. He's been pushed from pillar to post but always worked hard and never moaned. He must be a strong character, the sort we need. Meanwhile Keita, the worst buy in our history, strolls out on to the pitch on a red carpet each week. Crazy. Baffling. I simply cannot believe that Keita is playing on merit, I'm sure it's just because of his price tag and to avoid the people at the club responsible for signing from losing face. We've seen managers stubbornly giving playing time to below par players before, and it's always ended in tears.
