We remain locked in talks with PSG for Barcola.

We have moved on from Diomande.

We enquired about Akliouche early in the summer and that was about it.

We've been looking at a Spanish Right back but can't get a name. Will keep pushing.

Cheers.

Djimi.

I love this, some ITKs that are very reliable saying one thing, other reliable ITKs saying another, I'm genuinely excited to see what pans out. :)

2

22 Jul 2026 20:22:47
I completely respect the poster's views.

However, we have not moved on from Diomande. He is the priority target. If a deal can be done, it will be done. Personally, I'm certain it will.

We won't be signing Barcola.

And there is nothing in the rumours about Akliouche.

Over and out.

22 Jul 2026 20:35:04
A Spanish rb called Carvajal?

0

22 Jul 2026 20:48:34
Spanish RB is obvious- Arnau Martinez.

1

22 Jul 2026 21:00:17
The Spanish RB in question is El Trente.

22 Jul 2026 19:01:19
Illia Zabarnyi was offered to Liverpool a while ago as I previously stated a month or so back.

He could be made a pawn in all the PSG & LFC madness.

Let’s see.

Sorry for pestering the timeline.

Ta.

22 Jul 2026 19:22:12
You pester away, mate, any news is always nice to hear. πŸ‘πŸ»

Shut yer face, Carra, pester away!!

8

22 Jul 2026 19:30:02
Yes, any news is great to hear, keep it coming.
Legend...

2

22 Jul 2026 19:31:10
Thanks Cara, did we not want to take Zarbanyi at the time? Or even now, I would have thought he would be a good fit for us, mate. Thanks.

3

22 Jul 2026 19:35:00
Pester away, Carra. Your posts are always looked for before anyone else's.

5

22 Jul 2026 19:45:14
Carry on Carra. King Pawn. Let's see if it's sweet or sour.

I'll get my coat.

5

22 Jul 2026 19:55:53
Cheers, Fields and Carra. I do love to see your posts. Zabarnyni would be a steal. Diomande, imo, apart from the noise, would be an unreal signing. I don't get the armchair critics.

3

22 Jul 2026 19:59:06
King pawn Carra-y.

I'll grab my coat, spectacles and testicles.

2

22 Jul 2026 20:00:10
How on earth haven't LFC jumped at the defender, we need him and his prem experience !!!!

1

22 Jul 2026 20:06:51
Keep on posting, Carra.

3

22 Jul 2026 20:08:22
No problem, Carra. If I'm being honest, I normally scroll down this page looking for your, VG, the Fields & Stupid sexy Flanders posts.

2

22 Jul 2026 21:05:22
Carry on, Carra... I think there's a film to be made here. πŸ€”

1

22 Jul 2026 21:10:39
He'd be my most wanted signing of all mentioned.

0

22 Jul 2026 18:45:09
There are a lot of rumours and whispers going around at the moment in regards to signings. Most of which are because we haven't done much business so far. I would take most rumours being reported by click bait and social media view farmers with a pinch of salt.

I know we have bid for Barcola but it's expected to be rejected. If it hasn't already.

Diomande, I've heard both we are still interested and we are not.

A fair amount of work was put into it, so it wouldn't be surprising if we were.

I've heard about 15 different names being linked for midfield, all seem to have a similar profile of a sitting midfield that are either playmakers or ball winners. Nothing concrete to go off tho, so no names.

Some outlandish ones as well like Vini Jr. πŸ˜‚

16

22 Jul 2026 19:23:00
Cheers, Fields. πŸ‘πŸ»

3

22 Jul 2026 19:25:45
Thanks for the info @ Thefields & Carra, keep up the good work, very much appreciated.

2

22 Jul 2026 19:32:43
Much appreciated, Thefields.
Keep em coming.

1

22 Jul 2026 19:36:14
Brilliant, TF, thanks a million. πŸ‘

3

22 Jul 2026 19:45:36
Thanks, Fields.

I'm going to rename him Schrodinger Diomande.

6

22 Jul 2026 20:20:46
Vini Jr links are outlandish, but it's absolutely not something Liverpool categorically ruled out immediately. His contract situation at Madrid was reviewed, but ultimately the club opted to carry interest no further. No chance of it happening, but again, due diligence.

4

22 Jul 2026 20:46:01
Long, long, long time since I've posted, but still an avid follower.
However, I have re-registered (hence the 2..) just to tip my hat to Ron. Schrodinger Diomande? Class.

1

22 Jul 2026 15:13:05
Liverpool have made an approach for Maghnes Akliouche of Monaco.

21

22 Jul 2026 15:47:09
This just gets curiouser and curiouser. πŸ˜‚

9

22 Jul 2026 15:53:13
I actually prefer this as a signing.

I like Diomande, but not actually seen much.

I like Barcola, having seen a lot more.

I have seen almost none of this guy or Munoz, really, but I just think profile wise, and price bracket wise, this is the type of market I actually prefer us buying.

Like if Diomande or Barcola get 3 games in without a hattrick, the media narrative gathers. With both of Akilouche and Munoz, if they come in and help the team be better, that's all that matters.

Like most teams, you really only want 2 or 3 stars and then players willing to work for the collective. This is usually the best formula for actual team success.

And arguably we have our stars or people who could / should be stars in Isak, Ekitike, Wirtz.

Even Wirtz, I don't think he fits a star role and is more like what can be the most effective cog in the wheel.

13

22 Jul 2026 15:58:15
This article out today was referring to a much earlier approach on that player. It's not recent news. He is off to PSG.

9

22 Jul 2026 15:58:34
Thought he went to PSG?

0

22 Jul 2026 15:58:54
Doesn't look any better than Gakpo from what I've seen - would be a disappointing signing but the market is very poor.

3

22 Jul 2026 16:01:19
I just want whoever the best players are. Don't care about media narrative and rival fans been able to have a pop. That's all part of the game.

5

22 Jul 2026 16:19:33
PSG want to hoard all the available wingers, and they have this arrogant approach to the market, low-balling the selling clubs and thinking the players will wait for them under any circumstances.
Imagine if we end up snatching both Maghnes Akliouche and Diomande off their hands.

4

22 Jul 2026 16:26:01
@Be Kind, - various ITKs and our Carra (below) say differently.

Seems we have at least enquired.

I'd say Barcola is the better player but Alilouche plays predominantly on the right wing where we desperately need someone. Barcola plays mostly on the left.

5

22 Jul 2026 16:43:05
Would be happy with this.

2

22 Jul 2026 16:59:41
It's strange that PSG would be genuinely interested in Akliouche if he plays on the right side, given they have Doue and Dembele.

You can slightly understand their interest in Diomande, given his bigger profile. He plays left and right, and they seem willing to offload Barcola, so they will have a need for a left sided player.

From our point of view, getting a deal over the line for a player who's PSG linked, or Barcola, will need a lot of pieces to fall into place. A lot of deals are complicated at the best of times, but all of these seem difficult because of the parties involved, which makes you wonder about our strategy.

1

22 Jul 2026 17:06:06
But having the best players mostly does not work. If you have an 11 of the best players in the world, egos almost always get involved and cause issues. Plus, we have even had issues when we had our amazing front 3 of actually getting any decent back up, because they know they have almost 0 chance of breaking into the team.

Like it or not, it is now more than ever a team and systems game, so I want the best players to fit our system and tactics.

This is not always as easy as the best player available, in my opinion, anyway.

Look at the 3 best 9s in the world currently, Haaland, Mbappe and Kane, arguably none of these are directly interchangeable without changing style of play.

4

22 Jul 2026 17:17:10
Akliouche interest has legs for possible reasons:

It's in the Liverpool Echo! The Liverpool Echo sports reporter Paul Gorst was at the Chicago press conference yesterday. He was also on the flight from JLA airport with the LFC squad. Would he disrespect those very kind LFC invitations to cast malicious rumours? One says not!

6

22 Jul 2026 17:31:26
I don't mean the best players in the world. I just mean the best players from the ones we are targeting. Just happens, the better ones usually cost more money.

2

22 Jul 2026 17:35:39
Is right, Pickle. It's not worth rocking the boat too much, and there's less risk. It could be argued that a significant signing might take the attention away from others, but the PL, its media and fans are ruthless, and, with fans being fickle, leads to failure.

I still like the bargain finds - the "steals" brought in on intense scouting, faith and justification. I'm never comfortable with these City or Chelsea size signings as it doesn't feel right.

3

22 Jul 2026 17:44:13
I think we play 3 behind the striker. Wirtz, Szobo and a new winger. If it's a LW we sign, then Szobo plays on the right with Wirtz as the 10, but if it's a RW we sign, then Wirtz plays on the left and Szobo as the 10 (better setup I think). Then you have Rio, Gakpo, Munoz forward cover.

2

22 Jul 2026 18:03:07
Other than a bit more height, he offers nothing more than Harvey Elliott does. He's pretty slow too. More of an inside forward.

3

22 Jul 2026 18:10:51
@Overkill, They're all flexible. Dembele mainly plays through the middle for PSG, but can play either side as well. Doue can play either side, but I've heard PSG see his future in the midfield 3. Diomande can play either side. Akliouche can play on the right, or more centrally as a 10.

Then you have Kvara and Barcola, who are both predominantly left wingers, but in reality could fill in anywhere across the front line, tbh.

So to me it just looks like they want 6 extremely high quality forward options who are pretty flexible.

0

22 Jul 2026 20:20:50
Fair enough, Flo! You were the inspiration of my post but not necessarily the target as I do think there are a lot of people who do just think if we had Mbappe, Haaland and Kane up front we would obviously win every game ever!

But, yeah, obviously for the most part better players equal more money, but I also think more than ever there is almost no signing that is no risk. Especially at 100 mill plus range! At this level even one injury of any significance arguably makes it too risky. But also not my money and just insane numbers to begin with.

22 Jul 2026 14:04:34.
Hi all,

Liverpool very tentatively enquired about the availability of Ferran Torres a few months back - as we have done with many players. It’s all due diligence and I do not expect us to move for him this summer.

22

22 Jul 2026 15:15:57
According to Sky, we have made an approach for Akliouche, a PSG target. I wonder if this is the same tactic we used against Newcastle for Isak last year, basically telling them we will take their target if they don't let us sign Barcola.

For what it's worth, I rate him highly. I saw him live vs. Lyon last season, and he was the best player on the pitch.

11

22 Jul 2026 15:20:33
Thanks, mate... I think I will just enjoy the prem this season. No demands. I think youth will play a lot more, but it's gonna be hard this season, folks, really difficult, but I don't think the signings are gonna go the fans way.

4

22 Jul 2026 15:30:20
It appears to be true.

We have enquired about Magnes Akilouche and, in my opinion, we're playing a seriously risky (borderline silly) game here.

From outside in, we're attempting to recreate an Isak & Ekitike scenario.

All good doing that to Newcastle United, but PSG?

I did think there would be games, and now they've well and truly begun.

Ta.

27

22 Jul 2026 15:39:57
Reds,

I've just asked my source, and second Carra on this.

Liverpool are testing the waters with (PSG target) Maghnes Akliouche's agent about a possible move.

Interesting to see if this is the RW we'll go for.

Β£40 million fee.

10

22 Jul 2026 15:40:39
Hi Carra,

Do you know if it's Diomande we really want? Also any news on other positions? Worried we are ignoring a glaring problem at Rb.

0

22 Jul 2026 15:44:32
Blimey... The plot thickens....

Cheers for the updates, Carra/VG and others!!

6

22 Jul 2026 15:48:13
We have worked for months to unravel the legal mess that Yan Diomande finds himself in.

That was all un-weeded, the player said he wanted us only, but agents started messing everyone around, opening the doors for PSG (who he has agreed higher terms with).

Leipzig also were gunning for a bidding war. That won't happen, as both teams have a similar price marked on the player.

The whole saga became crazy, and we decided to leave the chat, that's according to the club.

If there was a way to get a deal back on track, we may entertain it, but would need guarantees and assurances from player and agents that he only wants us.

But yes, Yan Diomande has been the number one target of the club, but as you'd expect we are looking to other options right now as well.

Ta.

19

22 Jul 2026 15:57:50
Cheers for the updates, Carra. πŸ‘Š

4

22 Jul 2026 16:03:07
Nice one Carra and Vic.

3

22 Jul 2026 16:08:18
Don't mind this, even with PSG. If it means they have to prove they're willing to match our bid and get a move on, I'm all for it. Then, whether he picks them or us, at least we can move on then to other targets.

2

22 Jul 2026 16:23:17
Thanks for the info. Maybe PSG don't want Jan, just agent tomfoolery to drive the price up.
Just a thought!!
The way they played last season, would you play around with that team and upset the dressing room? Don't think this Jan guy is good enough for them, looking at WC games.

Frimpong Mark 2...
Being played here !!!
Look for someone more experienced or use youth and spend elsewhere.
Thanks again for the update.
Much appreciated.

22 Jul 2026 16:40:02
Cheers, VG and Carra.

I have always said these guys like to play the transfer window like a game and genuinely get off on it.

0

22 Jul 2026 17:11:14
Cheers, Carra and VG. Just gets curious and more curious.

1

22 Jul 2026 18:21:49
I really wanted Diomande, but if he isn't excited about joining us, then we should move on. Akliouche seems like a better fit for us, and I can see him excelling here.

1

22 Jul 2026 09:26:36
Morning Gents

Efforts are being stepped up to sign Diomande this week, proving to be difficult but it's still ongoing.

Cheers.

58

22 Jul 2026 09:54:16
FFS he's s****.

20

22 Jul 2026 09:55:26
Shame. When others have said we've walked away, I felt that's the best thing to do. We should be in for Barcola, as he seems (agents etc) a lot less hassle.

18

22 Jul 2026 09:57:16
Carra said we had walked away?

Does this mean we aren't going after Barcola then?

6

22 Jul 2026 10:01:39
Thanks, Robbo. Diamonde is quality, I hope this happens. Barcola is also quality, just feel he won't be leaving PSG. Ideally we get both.

9

22 Jul 2026 10:06:44
Thanks, Robbo... At this stage I just want us to walk away and snap up 2 of Barcola, Rayan, and Torres.

11

22 Jul 2026 10:07:31
@RobboLFC, What happened to the Joao Gomes deal? I thought it was a done deal for LFC. Just a question.

17

22 Jul 2026 10:20:19
Folks, again with the criticism...

Carra said very clearly that he thought the club might be playing the game re. Diomande (can't recall the direct quote).

Robbo said about Joao Gomes - Ok, so? We know and have seen these are multi layered, complex deals that can turn any second.

Robbo, Carra, VG, Neddy and others proved themselves time and time again, and I for one am excited every time they post, as they are invaluable to this site.

Rant over. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

56

22 Jul 2026 10:23:24
Robbo is usually right. Thanks for the update.

15

22 Jul 2026 10:24:25
@ Robbo, you've opened Pandora's box. Love it and thanks for the info, mate. Always appreciated. Same goes for every poster on here actually, whether I believe or not / agree or disagree, love this site and all its content.

13

22 Jul 2026 10:25:55
Carra also said that this may be all part of the dance. With the amount of work already gone into this transfer, I believe that it will eventually happen but perhaps more so on our terms than his. Regardless, I'd actually prefer Rayan but I don't think that's going to happen. It'll be clear by end of next week, I'd suggest.

6

22 Jul 2026 10:30:19
"FFS he's s***".... said someone who plainly has years of experience of analytics, watching players train, follows every element of a player's regime.

I'm sure FSG, Iraola, and all the current LFC players will get behind your assessment of a professional footballer, who plays in one of Europe's top leagues and is wanted by I suspect, a lot of teams, but who can't afford the amount being asked.

Which, wouldn't be being asked for, is he was s***.

smh.

24

22 Jul 2026 10:34:28
@LFCYNWA00,

S*** happens, unfortunately.

Was a disappointment.

Cheers.

38

22 Jul 2026 10:37:06
Jurgenator, didn't really see much criticism, just people interested in what happened with certain deals that didn't go through.

9

22 Jul 2026 10:40:48
Like I have previously mentioned, as has John Barnes is god, LFC want both Diomande & Barcola that has always been the goal... hopefully it gets done!!

15

22 Jul 2026 10:44:38
According to what I've read, Barcola is not for sale without a purchase. I reckon PSG don't sell Barcola this window.

1

22 Jul 2026 10:45:22
I know the agency situation is a mess and the deal is incredibly difficult, but Diomande is still my first choice winger target.

2

22 Jul 2026 10:54:04
Hi Robbo,

Thanks for your time and sharing your knowledge.

Do you know if we are looking at any rbs or CDMs? I'm really concerned with our lack of movement atm.

Thanks a bundle, mate.

2

22 Jul 2026 10:54:25
I do agree with Pelican there. I've been put off by his consortium and not actually the lad himself. Which is a bit unfair really.

9

22 Jul 2026 10:55:37
@CoolerThanTheFonz, That was our chief data analyst speaking. πŸ˜‰

3

22 Jul 2026 10:58:00
It's the drama that keeps giving. He'll end up sacking his management to try and get a move somewhere, because if he doesn't, he's staying put as it's just too risky with the management team being from Mars.

Loving the info as always, Carra.

2

22 Jul 2026 11:01:48
Cheers Robbo.

As I predicted.

Over and out.

10

22 Jul 2026 11:05:36
Pretty sure I've said this about twice weekly, for a few months.

We will sign Diomande.
We won't sign Barcola.

Over and out.

11

22 Jul 2026 11:11:05
Agreed, @raceylfc. And thank you for recognising previous posts.

I do believe, from what I've been made aware, that we were in for both.

Moreover, as I've stated for a while now on this forum, I am certain we will sign Diomande; however, I'm as confident that we will not sign Barcola.

Over and out.

7

22 Jul 2026 11:13:05
Thanks for the update, RobboLFC
Regardless, if we sign him or not, if Diomande is worth the money or not, it's always good news we get these snippets from you.

5

22 Jul 2026 11:13:29
@KHA123, Absolutely - we need maybe one versatile defender to sign, loan or deal. As for Barcola, I'm still not sure how he fits without blocking Rio's path and he's not much of a right winger. Great player, but where does he fit in the team?

1

22 Jul 2026 11:20:56
From what's been mentioned, the plan at the start was to have Diomande and Barcola, so hopefully that's still the case!
Thanks for the info, Robbo.

2

22 Jul 2026 11:21:17
What this does show is how long this stuff is taking, when I think we should go after other positions.

But it looks like it's gonna go all the way down to the last day of transfers.

0

22 Jul 2026 11:25:57
Iraola has said this morning that we need a winger, defensive reinforcement, and maybe others depending on injuries, etc. It's been said Connor's out for at least a couple more months, for example, so it's good to hear Iraola give clarity on his expectations. It makes sense we focus on a right winger.

1

22 Jul 2026 11:29:00
I'd test the waters with City to see if they'd sell Semenyo, genuinely think we messed up by not having a punt at signing him given the slim pickings and wild prices at the moment, he would have been an excellent signing.

6

22 Jul 2026 11:33:50
John Barnes is God.
Not doubting what you say, but you seem desperate to be one of the ITKs and that will look to others like you aren't one.
It takes a long time to be recognised and you may notice that the few we have on here that get clear info and share it don't go round bragging that they knew things afterwards.

Anyway, I hope you are one of the genuine ones and can continue to share what you know.

12

22 Jul 2026 11:41:14
Cheers Robbo, appreciated as always.

Here we go, checking the site every half hour for news.

2

22 Jul 2026 11:42:52
ViktorVaughan

There is more chance of Coutinho coming back to Liverpool than Man City selling Semenyo to anyone let alone LFC.

Chance has come and gone and we missed the boat.

13

22 Jul 2026 11:47:47
Thanks for the info, Robbo.

3

22 Jul 2026 11:51:59
@LFCYNWA00, Sounded like a loaded question to me.

3

22 Jul 2026 12:01:58
@Robbo,

When you say 'it's proving to be difficult' is that basically down to wages and a fee?

0

22 Jul 2026 12:02:25
Aside from City not selling to their rivals, Semenyo (and Guehi for that matter) wages are beyond our wage structure.

1

22 Jul 2026 12:03:03
Diomande and Barcola are both needed.

4

22 Jul 2026 12:04:12
Cheers Robbo, mate.

1

22 Jul 2026 12:07:36
Vv Semenyo was definitely the 1 to replace Salah all day.

4

22 Jul 2026 12:13:31
Am I the only one here who is not really impressed by Diomande, or Barcola, for that matter?

Diomande is a 19y/o who is nothing more than potential at a horrendous price. And Barcola is just a more exotic looking version of Gordon, only at a higher price (allegedly).

They can both run, I give them that, but I just don't see all the hype with the pair of them.

As VV said above, we should have got Semanyo. He was the one to get, and we stuffed it right up. Now we're trying to sign inferior players for more money imo.

6

22 Jul 2026 12:21:31
Is this before Bezos purchase and a dual announcement?

Let the chaos begin.

1

22 Jul 2026 12:25:14
@bulk, The market for a winger or wide forward is really poor. I wouldn't be surprised if we stick with what we got and go again next year.

2

22 Jul 2026 12:34:25
Cheers, Robbo!
To all the people having a pop at Robbo, they are only sharing what they have heard, as does Carra, VG & TheFields. If you don't like, then you can do one and stop having a go at these contributors.

8

22 Jul 2026 12:44:19
Incredible Bulk - I think Diomande's interesting because he's genuinely two-footed, presses and works back impressively with good goal/assist numbers.

Yes, he's young and the sample size is not massive, but unfortunately, that is where the market is now and it's unlikely to change given the way RBL, Brighton, Bournemouth, City and Chelsea snaffle all the young talent before the sample size can increase, leaving us with huge fees to pay.

6

22 Jul 2026 13:10:27
@FPF, Maybe so, but I'm not convinced at the price and level of experience he has in top leagues. Not to mention he has baggage in the form of gangsta rappers. Like I, and others, have said, we messed up with Semenyo.

1

22 Jul 2026 13:17:49
I've only seen small bits of him, but I've not seen anything to think he is a Β£100m footballer. And, for me, the agents he is with seem more trouble than he is worth, and if he does turn out to be as good as they seem to think, I feel he will be even more trouble with them agents always looking for the next move to get their % of the transfer.

So I would say thanks for the info Robbo, but I hope it goes nowhere and we try and get the lad from Bournemouth.

22 Jul 2026 13:57:32
Jurgenator is very right. Give people who post rumours some slack. Transfers are a super fluid thing, they can change at any moment, and we all know this from the past. Done deals become undone in an instant. Deals that we absolutely know nothing about become done.

Some patience and tolerance would not be a bad thing.

5

22 Jul 2026 14:04:43
Good man, Robbo. Not sure what I make of Diomande deal with all the whispers of how troublesome his reps seem to be. But cheers for the update.

Good luck with that Semenyo swoop. πŸ˜…

22 Jul 2026 15:11:16
Also like unless an ITK's contact is Michael Edwards in years gone by or Richard Hughes last year (I'm not even sure who would be actually making the main decisions this year), but, like, for example, SquareTomatoe, who we know is good mates with Joey G. Joe could tell him 100% that we are signing Diomande today. That would be better inside information than basically anywhere would be available. But Joe would still be like 3 degrees of separation from the people directly in the meetings.

And even the people in those meetings think deal is 100% gonna be done tomorrow, they could get a message back from the other party (because there are multiple parties involved in the transfer), and the agents or someone, for example, completely shift their demands.

That doesn't mean that yesterday Liverpool were 100% confident of getting the deal done. And also doesn't mean the person sharing that information is wrong.

Some people act like these people should be psychics. And I guarantee you if they legitimately could predict the future accurately they would not be wasting their time on rumour sites, they would be insanely wealthy breaking the stock market and winning the lotto!

Let's just appreciate the wealth of information we do get on this site from people with years of a track record and enjoy the ride!

If what I'm reading is true, I don't want him.

22 Jul 2026 07:52:26
Not ITK but have dealings with LFC over multiple layers given that I work with investments with FSG, Dynasty, and funnily enough Redbird too.
A minority sale has always been on the cards and this has never been hidden given that both Redbird and Dynasty are private equity funds where asset sales for profit are part and parcel of their business. FSG in fact would prefer in fact to sell the entire stake to one buyer, likely Middle East, although this may still come later on in a few years once that area of the world clears up from this geopolitical fiasco. FSG although has a strong affinity towards Liverpool is not against selling for profit, as they only see Boston Red Sox as their untouchable crown jewel. This minority sale may also be to appease their shareholders given the mess they have been dealing with regarding their Pittburgh Penguins sale that was meant to happen end of last year.
If the sale is 30% as stated in the news to Bhatia, expect him to have a board seat and some say in the operations going forward although FSG want to retain status quo as much as possible.
The only sticking point currently (especially by Dynasty) is that the current price mooted is not enough of a step-up from when Dynasty, a close friend of FSG, invested a few years back; subsequently which we've won the league as well as invested heavily into a new squad (Ed can get more into details about player amortisation and how that goes into an investment of a company).
Will try to get more info as well as on the potential Bezos links. We have some dealings with him too but obviously not close and only met the bloke once in my life. Surprisingly interesting and more down to Earth than you could expect from someone with 300b net worth. If I were to hazard a guess likely rubbish from Sky but will check.

Until then YNWA
Kopchu

22 Jul 2026 08:53:30
Cheers kopchu.

4

22 Jul 2026 09:47:45
Yeah, great stuff, Kopchu. Much appreciated and just as important as transfer goss. In fact, arguably more so. Look forward to your next post. Cheers.

22 Jul 2026 09:28:34
I'm hoping there is no truth in the Bezos rumours, he is a major Trump donor, and therefore has blood on his hands. Amazon workers are treated disgracefully, like slaves really. Taking money from him would be a major embarrassment in my opinion.

I think it's LFC that are the jewel in FSG's crown, not the Red Sox, although that is for their own financial reasons, not anything sentimental.

9

22 Jul 2026 09:31:31
"once that area of the world clears up from this geopolitical fiasco".

Yeah, that's not happening. I mean, you could've said that in the early 70s. It's a business they're running. War makes money and their testing ground for strategies, weapons and ideologies has been the Middle East for over a hundred years.

8

22 Jul 2026 09:52:46
Cheers, on Sky one of the reporters there said Bezos claiming a stake is likely to happen.

22 Jul 2026 09:56:31
At least FSG have a very solid professional management structure of their assets and have proven to be a safe pair of hands. Any change in ownership will throw that up in the air; may be ok, but also may not. We will have to see.
As for Bezos, his intention with Amazon was to make it the company with the best customer service on the planet - in doing so, he's transformed the market and reaped the benefits, obviously, at an environmental cost, which seems wrong on every level, but, like most people, I still take advantage of it at times.

However, I'm with Brian Clough when it comes to the owners - they're there to pay the bills and leave the staff and players to get on with things! Not sure a high profile, heavily involved owner will really help...

8

22 Jul 2026 10:53:04
As soon as they namedropped Bezos, the credibility of this approach to invest got weaker imo.

John W. Henry et al. don't need a Mittal consortium to invite Bezos to invest.

4

22 Jul 2026 11:46:24
Cheers, Kopchu, great insight.

1

22 Jul 2026 13:40:56
In fairness the Bezos thing has been reported in the Guardian and they don't tend to be sensationalist gutter press, so I think this may have legs. I think any investment into the club at the level Bezos can give is worthwhile and there's no accusation of sportswashing either.

1

22 Jul 2026 15:04:03
Funny when I hear ppl don't want multi billionaires at the club, why, because their politics don't align with yours haha.

2

22 Jul 2026 15:27:09
If FSG do sell, they have undoubtedly made the club as a whole much better and will leave it miles better than when they bought it.

My only query is, how will new owners push the club forward? Expansion capacity has been reached. Training ground is pretty much brand new. How will new investors make the club more profitable for them?

2

22 Jul 2026 05:40:12
Bozos rumours are to break today, been approached to be part of consortium to buy a minority share.

I have a feeling FSG could be tempted to sell, Bezos is a Liverpool fan, kind of, his family originally are Liverpudlians, beleive his grandparents.

If he was tempted again, how would you lot feel?

3

22 Jul 2026 06:00:00
Sick, tbh. But then what billionaire buyer wouldn't nauseate?

19

22 Jul 2026 06:28:42
Doesn't really matter what money they have, I mean, look at Newcastle situation. Loads of money, can't spend.
Think FSG are doing us just fine.

21

22 Jul 2026 07:30:21
Hasn't Musk got links to Liverpool as well, like his grandparents or great-grandparents are scousers?

2

22 Jul 2026 07:30:35
Fowlher, is it not Elon Musk you're thinking of, who has roots in Liverpool?

1

22 Jul 2026 07:31:57
I know FSG have their detractors, but John Henry seems a reasonable person and has earned his money in an 'honest' way (for a capitalist billionaire, at least!)

Amazon have caused so much harm - to the environment and to smaller businesses, (initially booksellers, but now to all other retailers), and have treated large swathes of their vast staff poorly, especially those in their distribution centres.

Bezos is effectively the modern-day equivalent of a Victorian factory owner. To top it off, he's mates with D*nald Tr*mp. Bleurgh!

I think it's been a case of 'better the devil you know' with FSG as owners...

24

22 Jul 2026 07:40:45
I think Musk's nan was from Liverpool. TBH I wouldn't want him or Bezos anywhere near the club. I've been 'FSG out' in the past, but I'm in total agreement with Stouffer.

12

22 Jul 2026 07:43:09
FSG will sell at some point. It's just when.

3

22 Jul 2026 07:48:02
Stouffer, one of my lads works at Amazon, working at the warehouse goods in department at the Warrington dept, and has been there for years. As long as you keep your and work, there are no issues. He gets a good bonus, good work / life balance with his hours and he's very happy there.

How many folk do you know that are happy at work?

The irony of it all, I would bet... most of your family have used Amazon at some point.

17

22 Jul 2026 08:17:25
@Stouffer, Yes, working at Amazon really is a mirror image of a Victorian workhouse. Arms and legs have been ripped off by a spinning mule from 8-year-old boys and girls, doing work for nothing, apart from a roof over their heads.

I despair. πŸ™„

See @Drogies' comment for the irony. That shouldn't need spelling out.

7

22 Jul 2026 08:29:58
@LiverpoolFC8, Unless Henry, Gordon and the boys live forever eh?

3

22 Jul 2026 08:56:10
We can't rule that out, WDW. Henry does look a bit like a turtle. And those things last forever.

5

22 Jul 2026 09:14:57
Most people with extraordinary wealth have a reason to dislike them.
There's one exception that I can think of: Charles "Chuck" Feeney R.I.P.
So my point is, whoever buys the club from wherever in the world, there will be a good reason to dislike them for someone. There's nothing we can do about it so don't worry about it.

5

22 Jul 2026 09:33:54
Like all business, football will be homogenised and subsumed into one, massive, money making enterprise. It's been going this way for decades. Now it's at a point where you are just another money making cog. Thank you for your custom.

1

22 Jul 2026 09:34:21
The oh so virtuous casting judgement on potential buyers' morality.

We do love to feel superior to others, don't we.

6

22 Jul 2026 09:42:23
If Musk or Bezos took over ownership, that would be it for me with football. It's already lost its soul, and that would be the final nail in the coffin.

2

22 Jul 2026 09:52:49
Bozo the clown?

1

22 Jul 2026 09:56:45
There are quite a few people who don't like the Mittal family. There are no perfect owners. Someone like FSG would be ideal, pretty anonymous financial investors.

2

22 Jul 2026 09:58:31
On a different note, did anyone see the pics of Hugo watching a recent LFC training game in America, the pics from behind him and his legs from ankle to top of thigh are stick thin, know he's been off his feet a long time now, but still a bit of a shock to see how much muscle has wasted away already, poor sod.

1

22 Jul 2026 10:40:40
@Taurus it could be Bozo Texino

2

22 Jul 2026 11:12:45
DarrenA, and that's his good leg.

0

22 Jul 2026 12:22:07
Chewy, hahahaha, very good.
Hopefully not though.

22 Jul 2026 13:03:50
I would take Bezos or Musk as owners in a heartbeat.

Yes, they are highly successful and morally questionable at times, but if you dig into any major investor or investment company, you find its detractors.

What you also get is a person who accepts nothing but pure success. At that level they are not looking to sell quickly, but they would push the limits of global expansion, income and stability more than a standard investment firm.

As a fan, I get it... but as a global sports brand who wants to be a success, we need to look with less blinkered eyes. Let's face it, they are all corrupt and ruthless in their own way. With Bezos or Musk, you just get men who only accept 100% success and strive for it day in day out, but assembling winners within their businesses. I'd take that!

Just my opinion, controversial but quite a realistic one imo.

1

22 Jul 2026 13:24:16
Maybe Henry, Gordon & the boys will live forever.
Before people shoot me down, I said maybeeeee.

2

21 Jul 2026 17:51:28
Hi all.

Keep an eye on Liverpool and John Stones. Talks took place yesterday with him.

33

21 Jul 2026 18:23:43
I mean. I want it, yes. But no bloody chance.

9

21 Jul 2026 18:26:08
Hahaha, course they did.

11

21 Jul 2026 18:28:55
Be good to help bring on the youngsters rather than throwing them in at the deep end, but I'm not convinced a) that this will happen and b) by his injury history.

1

21 Jul 2026 18:31:00
I think it would be a good deal.

9

21 Jul 2026 18:31:12
I would take him, seems a good fit for us and on a free, but the Everton connection may make it difficult, plus I think I saw Arsenal interested also.

5

21 Jul 2026 18:38:05
To be fair, I'd take him. He would be a decent back up & can also play DM.

6

21 Jul 2026 18:53:28
36 Prem appearances in the last 3 seasons. Says it all.

29

21 Jul 2026 18:59:15
*Another Andoni Wonderkid in the Bag*

Samuel Martinez, a 17 year old midfielder, will join the LFC Academy for pre-season 2027-2028, after officially signing today for Liverpool Football Club.

12

21 Jul 2026 19:00:43
Regarding John Stones, I've just spoken to my friend who's ITK; he has said Stones was in contact with Everton today!!

9

21 Jul 2026 19:03:24
@Florian that's probably more than Gomez. 🀣

7

21 Jul 2026 19:18:28
Stones only played more than 20 times in 4 seasons out of 10.

7

21 Jul 2026 19:23:15
Do we not already have an experienced centreback who's not available when needed?

10

21 Jul 2026 19:26:39
Off to Chelsea.

4

21 Jul 2026 19:30:20
Alls I'll say is he's better than Kanate. If that's a measurement you can use.

8

21 Jul 2026 19:51:31
That would make him a Stones Bitter, Racey.

9

21 Jul 2026 20:01:43
I'm sure Stones agents are contacting literally every club in the league. Means nothing. The chap can't stay fit for 3 weeks. No chance.

4

21 Jul 2026 20:05:53
My claim to fame was pushing a 5 year old John Stones into my nan's Greenhouse... I've suffered ever since..... Those who throw Stones in glasshouses.......

Raceylfc is spot on.

11

21 Jul 2026 20:19:21
Can't believe some people want this to happen, probably big wages and rarely available, a truly awful signing in my view anyway. Good player, don't get me wrong, but absolutely not what we need at the moment.

10

21 Jul 2026 20:38:11
Any movement on Barcola/Wharton/Jones? Season starts in a month.

Rather have Kidney Stones which I just went through this past week. : ) For Ed025 YNWA

6

21 Jul 2026 20:39:49
Medical staff have all fingers crossed.

2

21 Jul 2026 22:23:40
If he was fit for both derbies and both City games, imagine the fume.

1

21 Jul 2026 22:39:22
Surely the kidney stones went through you, KVD... painfully, no doubt.

Are those onions?

1

21 Jul 2026 23:25:42
Stones is made of glass, but I suppose he could keep Joe Gomez company. πŸ€•

3

21 Jul 2026 23:45:15
I feel like Djed Spence is a much better option as we probably need a versatile defensive player. Unfortunately, LFC don't seem to be going for him.

4

22 Jul 2026 00:52:22
Please no, we have enough injuries in the back line. Bradley and Frimpong injuries for days. Gomez always injured. Leoni coming back from major injury. Jacquet just recovered.

Please just get the Ukrainian CB from PSG on loan. I'd take him over Stones on a free with huge wages and poor game availability.

4

22 Jul 2026 05:52:36
We need to be getting rid of the injury prone players, not buying more.

1

22 Jul 2026 07:45:41
Djed Spence looked pretty fit to me and is for me a much better option than John Stones.

1

22 Jul 2026 10:01:34
Don't understand why Gomez hasn't been sold or given away already, wages for sitting on treatment table year after year, should have gone 4 years ago !!

1

22 Jul 2026 13:30:52
He's unlikely to pass a medical with us because of a problem with his veins.
That's where the expression "like getting blood out of a Stones" comes from.
