Good evening Ed02,
Inter's Alessandro Bastoni has come up in various places connecting him to Liverpool.
I haven't found much on this site's search archive about him, nor in the Italian media and he seems to be tied up nicely with Inter until 2028 having renewed only last year.
Anything to it?
{Ed002's Note - No.}

thanks, obviously dredging the barrel.

I would've loved us to have signed Alexandra Bastedo. One for the older posters.

Ed02, if I may. Back on May 31 you shared your list of defensive possibilities stating that Gvardiol wasn't going to happen (with other clubs circling him) even though he was Liverpool's preferred choice.
Just out of interest sake, is/ was the reason because of price (other clubs causing an unrealistic auction scenario) or for other unmentioned reasons?
{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have moved on. Others offer either a significant fee this summer and one has discussed a lower fee and taking him next summer.}

Off to ManCity.
2.) 21 Jun 2023 09:22:59
Is this a case of being able to buy 2 for the price of 1/ the search for value in an overinflated market Eds?
The question is, Is Gvardiol twice as good as VDV2 or Colwill, whom we could probably both buy for the same price as Gvardiol.
I like the idea of buying Colwill, although I doubt CFC would entertain .
{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not one of the clubs who have approached Chelsea about Colwill.}

Colwill looks a real talent. Apparently Brighton bid £40m but we're told he isn't for sale.

Anyone think there could be any shock sales this window? For example, i don't know, McAllister to RM ?.
1.) 16 May 2025 14:09:07
Mac isn't available for free so I would not worry about RM.
Plus he has a decent contract length.
Ali would be the one I would perhaps have an outside chance however i think he will stay another season then take the saudi money for GM to take over.
2.) 16 May 2025 14:23:15
Real Madrid paying money to buy a big player? Nah.
3.) 16 May 2025 14:30:07
Why would you think Alison is money orientated? He will be here for a few more years yet. When he does leave he will go back home. Did he not say that?
4.) 16 May 2025 14:30:25
Almost every player will have their price. You can never rule out surprise departures but even then it would likely only be if a replacement could be sought in time. I think Konate is the most likely first team player to be sold.
5.) 16 May 2025 14:47:56
I reckon Alisson will see his contract out with us, he may even sign another contract yet. He's going nowhere anytime soon. Thankfully.

With you WDW. Magical thinking to think Wirtz will guarantee future success. Just like it's magical thinking to suggest that this is a calculated risk given that he, like Chiesa, is post-ACL (they did them 2 months apart in 2022).
I'm personally wetting myself thinking that he might become a Liverpool player but I'm also aware that I have to temper that. If he does come, though, he's going to be a great piece in the overall puzzle.

Don't know about you but I've decided Carra is God incarnate.
21 May 2025 13:27:10
What tha. ?.
20 May 2025 16:24:33
Why would Kerkez want to play in the Championship?
20 May 2025 07:48:14
Gazzetta dello Sport are normally on top of this stuff. They're schtum at the moment.
22 May 2025 05:46:47
Are they Baci chocolates next to the king's goblet? Oh, the kit. Yeah.
15 May 2025 05:12:06
Why would he want to play in the Championship? #115.
30 Apr 2025 16:51:55
Not so weird, Olired. I agree with you. For about 5 minutes there Chiesa was seen as the future of Italian football - and he comes from pedigree stock too. And then came the ACL.
He's a proud italian who would want to prove himself away from mum's kitchen - and the cluster**** that is italian football. He's not going to let Tonali take all the italian headlines.
I was dead against buying him but now that we've got him, I say let him show us what he's got.

Noble words, MKS, and I wish I could be as adult about it.
No one would ever expect TAA to be a one-club scouser but it's the going on a free to RM that sticks in my infantile throat - like eating tapas with Sergio Ramos. I'll get there. Eventually.

Yeah, great post @NOTSOZIPPY.
You're magnanimity is what we should all aspire to.
I personally am saddened how the TTA saga has played out - i wish it wasn't RM (whose b**ch we have become of recent years) and I wish he would just break cover and announce it rather than media manage the situation, creating hysteria in the process.
But, as you said, ". it is what is, lads, we move on. ".
Let's work towards, and savour, n.20.
