A friend of mine who has contacts has said we are going all in for Wharton palestra Diomande & Barcola.
25 May 2026 18:37:16
Might as well sign Susan Boyle while Slot's in charge.
25 May 2026 18:48:32
Wharton will make no difference to that midfield. Needs physicality alongside him, as do all our current midfielders.
25 May 2026 18:58:37
We need a proper manager first. Nothing will go right till Slot is relieved of his duties.
25 May 2026 19:06:38
Wharton is so overrated imo.
25 May 2026 19:07:25
Madmax, is Susan Boyle single? Asking for my friends uncles, aunties, cousins, dad's budgie ...
25 May 2026 19:08:17
When did he swap his glasses for contacts?
25 May 2026 19:08:25
Quite like Elliot Anderson.
25 May 2026 19:11:01
Makes no difference who we sign if Slot is coaching them.
25 May 2026 19:19:26
The midfield won't be sorted until we play as a team. The attackers press and the defence drops deep. How do we expect the midfield to cover all that space? We could have the most physical midfielders in the world and they'd get run ragged.
25 May 2026 19:30:42
Wharton is a special talent and immediately solves our progression from the back problem - he will greatly help us escape the opposition press. A cheat code like Trent
But he enhances our off the ball softness. Tough one.
25 May 2026 19:33:53
Excellent appraisal, ItsSlotallthatbad.
Teams are built of units. We were so good under Jurgen, from a defensive perspective, because Mo, Bobby & Sadio were so aggressive.
Teams sat further and further back, as those three could hit on a break. The midfield allowed Trent and Robbo to play like wide men, which left Virg, Ali, and one other to clean up if a team dared to attack us.
Now that we have no one who can press up top, midfield is wide open, and that exposes the defence.
Also, no Trent means teams can play a much higher line and squeeze our midfield, which has exposed Mac10 this season.
The midfield will only improve if the attacking unit starts running Way more.
25 May 2026 19:41:33
Wharton doesn't improve us off the ball. He's just as slow, immobile, weak and defensively inept as our current crop. Teams will still play straight through us.
25 May 2026 19:42:43
I agree with Davey. We could have the modern day equivalent of 1970 Brazil and Sloth would screw it up.
25 May 2026 15:15:43
Kenneth Eikhorn.Being linked.Anyone know if he is any use?
25 May 2026 15:26:51
Not sure if he is any good, as he is only 16, guess one for the future. But he is a defensive midfielder.
25 May 2026 15:29:10
Kennet Eichhorn, another one for the future if links are true.
25 May 2026 15:41:06
The shadow squad will no longer be built from crocks or misfits who rarely play. The young side being assembled will be top tier, which will also serve to highlight that the pathway from youth set up to the first team is open. This is a big part of the new drive.
Why waste cash on Fede's and Gomez's who cost a lot but rarely play - it serves no purpose and pushes up wage outgoings.
This all points to a different manager incoming, since Slot has done nothing over two seasons to prove he has the balls to involve youth.
25 May 2026 15:51:56
Eikhorn is Fabinho, Fabinho is Eickhorn! (Ace Ventura voice)
25 May 2026 16:00:43
Seen as a real talent already in Germany. Playing first team football already at 16 years old and 6 foot 2.
Definitely one for the future, but we badly need midfielders ready to play now.
25 May 2026 16:32:15
Yep, Molby, we do but if he's a big talent and we can do it aswell as buying for the here and now we should do it. These are the kind of signings we give out about the club not doing.
25 May 2026 16:42:28
Totally agree, Florian, as long as we get that physical, mobile midfielder in the summer window.
25 May 2026 17:06:37
Last Kenneth we signed worked out well enough.
25 May 2026 17:10:09
What we're doing with youth feels a lot like what we did under Rafa in the noughties. We went around nabbing all these players from academies around the world who were supposedly the top young talents and filled our youth teams with them.
How many of them actually made it?
Ironically, our academy did best in recent history when we focused more on developing local talent who have been on the books since they were kids.
25 May 2026 17:24:24
Doesn't matter who's linked. U know the rest. Mission to convert u, Florian.
25 May 2026 17:30:23
Not getting what you mean, Flyer. Has been a long weekend though the auld noggin isn't in the best of shapes. 😆
25 May 2026 17:39:17
Only watched some YouTube videos when Bayernspace linked him a few weeks ago. My type of player. He's playing 2nd division football, so it's hard to see what level he really is, but he looks to have good anticipation, very good at looking after the ball, can run with it, and play nice early balls to spring attacks.
Declan Rice vibes. Get him signed and loan him back for a season.
25 May 2026 17:52:33
Surely we should be looking at signing Man Utd target Ederson from Atlanta?
25 May 2026 17:58:14
@Pessimistic Dreamer,
What about Mr Aguero?
25 May 2026 18:01:34
We need a new coach/manager, Florian.
25 May 2026 16:47:24
Doesn't matter who we sign at all because Slot is a complete waste of space and will ruin the talent or completely disregard them.
Still can't get over his excuses. "Injuries" he is full of the brown stuff
25 May 2026 18:20:30
Oh ok. That's for the higher ups to decide. But, with every day Arne is still in the job, I think the likelihood of him being sacked decreases significantly.
25 May 2026 09:58:46
Just heard a rumour Klopp is to come back on a short term contract, spend a year getting the intensity back into the team, help the club find a manager then take over as DOF at the end of next season.
Not sure I believe it too much but it is a rumours page after all. Personally I would take it but I have always been reserved when it comes to returns whether it be players or managers.
25 May 2026 10:30:56
If Carlsberg did rumours...
25 May 2026 10:31:26
Nice rumour. J W Henry is on his yacht off Ibiza. Could this be a meeting with Klopp, who lives on Majorca? Or is J W Henry there for a bit of Ibiza hard core rave? Certainly not for the duty free.
25 May 2026 10:34:01
It's a bank holiday. RW5 is a bit bored.
25 May 2026 10:36:32
Taking Slot to Amnesia.
25 May 2026 10:41:52
I like the idea of Klopp returning to the club. I always wanted him to take the DoF role after taking a sabbatical.
But first we need the announcement that Slot is done with LFC, either sacked or through mutual agreement, for this not to be another 'leak' to keep fans off Hughes, Edwards, and Slot's backs guessing until the start of next season.
25 May 2026 10:44:01
Think if Slot wasn't or isn't fired last night or today, he's going nowhere. Don't buy this two weeks to make a decision lark at all. For me, Alonso going to Chelsea is a clear sign he'll be staying. Alonso would have been first choice, and they didn't even get onto him when he was linked to Chelsea.
25 May 2026 10:54:33
I disagree, Flo, I don't think Alonso was much in our thinking, but I don't think it necessarily means Slot is definitely staying. Any decision for Slot to stay or go will be made this week.
I think if by 1st June we have heard nothing, then I'm inclined to agree Slot stays.
25 May 2026 10:56:14
It'll be like when Clint Eastwood took over the recruits as Gunnery Sergeant Highway in Heartbreak Ridge.
25 May 2026 10:57:49
Didn't Henry meet Klopp last week?
Not saying it's to do with the Klopp coming back (maybe his view on Hoeness as Robbo said or Nagelsmann).
If we were going for Enrquie in 27, it would be great if we Klopp for a year till then, but I highly doubt this unfortunately.
25 May 2026 11:08:26
I'm sure this is nonsense But Klopp may look at the state of the prem and think coming back for a year is basically an open goal.
25 May 2026 11:17:32
I think it's nonsense meself. Klopp will not be coming back, he's happily retired.
25 May 2026 11:18:48
Klopp returning is as likely as Alonso doing a u turn and becoming our next manager. I think a signing or two is more likely before any manager change.
25 May 2026 11:19:54
I don't think Klopp wants to go back to management. I'd love to have a fully committed and passionate Klopp back, but competing against financial cheats and a crooked PGMOL broke him. Let the man rest. He owes us nothing.
25 May 2026 11:19:59
Liverpool have had opportunity enough to hire Alonso, but the Data-Tron3000 hasn't ever spat out his name. He is not seemingly an option as highly thought of as Slot or Amorim.
Apparently the Data-Tron2000 is still saying we need to hire Villa-Boas or Jesse March.
The issue is partly Slot. His inadequacy is writ large over this, but it's also the nerds. We have given the nerds free rein, and they buy players "who get on base".
No stat displays character, so it's no longer a factor.
If you get the chance, watch when Flo was subbed in yesterday. He walks/saunters all the way across the pitch. He doesn't sprint; there is no excitement, there is no "I have 30 minutes to win this game." He looked like he'd been asked by his Ma to tidy his room just as Thundercats comes on the telly. His attitude stinks.
25 May 2026 11:27:49
I wish this was true - but I can't see it happening.
I did hear, maybe on here, Gordon wanted Klopp back, and Klopp was advising him on Hoeness.
If there is any movement on Slot, it shouldn't be long to wait - but I've a horrible feeling he'll be here in August, delaying the inevitable sacking in November.
25 May 2026 11:28:51
Sounds like a dream. However, I think if this was the case, both Robbo and Mo had gladly stayed for another year to help nurture and mentor the new players into the way Liverpool should play.
25 May 2026 11:29:35
Wasn't Alonso first choice when Jurgen left?
25 May 2026 11:30:52
If Klopp was incoming, Mo and Robbo would not be outgoing.
25 May 2026 11:43:43
Alonso was never coming to Liverpool. He wasn't first choice when we appointed Slot, so why would he suddenly become our number 1?
I think it has become clear we need a coach with passion and energy, including on the touch line, but more importantly on the training ground. That's why Alonso was never number 1. Hopefully the owners now realise you cannot go on data alone.
Slot may have been a good choice on paper, but his personality does not suit. So if Slot is to go... he has 12 months left on his contract... his successor will have to have the right numbers and personality. Maybe the owners know who they want, and maybe they will have to wait for the guy from Paris or the guy who has just left from City.
25 May 2026 11:44:36
Nope. As Alonso has stated, God knows how many times, the club have never spoken to him about being head coach.
This is a conclusion fans and pundits have arrived at over and over again.
Neville happily stated Slot was third choice. This is false. It was always Slot. Amorim was second pick, but the adherence to a back three was an issue.
The club don't think Alonso is the man for the job.
25 May 2026 11:59:47
Even if it is a rumours.
But I like this kind of rumour.
Bling back Jurgen.
25 May 2026 12:19:21
Whilst it's very reassuring starting the day with the same conversation, wouldn't it be nice to wait and see what comes out of the season review? Although I do enjoy how people see Slot's future in the most tenuous (imaginary?) connections. The number 32 bus was five minutes late so Klopp will be rejoining, Slot will be kept on as head of the match ball boys....
25 May 2026 12:25:38
Ha ha Flange. Excellent!
25 May 2026 12:26:22
@mcheshi, I never noticed Klopp being that Blingy myself.
JK back, yes and yes, alas a romantic notion imo.
25 May 2026 12:36:35
This rumour makes me happy. I have imagined the great man's return & how it would pan out into glorious success next season.
Whether it happens or not, nobody can take away a dream & the feeling it created. 😀
25 May 2026 12:37:18
I think The Goonie has permanent amnesia. 😂
25 May 2026 12:45:28
I thought Alonso turned us down to stay at Leverkusen before we appointed Slot.
25 May 2026 13:06:45
Florian, as a club that's very well known for taking their time to make data-driven decisions, especially when it comes to those that affect long-term planning, is there a genuine reason why you think the club would go completely against that philosophy and intentionally rush such a big move as potentially changing manager?
25 May 2026 13:37:55
Looks like wishful, made-up thinking rather than a rumour, but it's nice to daydream at the end of a season like that.
25 May 2026 13:47:06
I bet you Florian Musiala is delighted that Slot is staying. Been singing his praises and defending him all season.
25 May 2026 13:47:46
Nope, what you've done, Florian, is conflated two individual things in order to arrive at a wrong conclusion.
Alonso opted to stay at Leverkusen - yes.
This does not mean that by doing so this is him rejecting Liverpool.
If I decide to go to Skegness in July, that doesn't necessarily follow I turned down two weeks in St Bart's in July.
We never discussed or offered Alonso a job, so his deciding to go on for another year (and have the arguably the best season any manager has ever had) is a separate thing.
When he said "I have never discussed the Liverpool job with Liverpool at any point", what he meant was the thing he said.
25 May 2026 13:50:15
Why would they be waiting till now to start their data driven decisions, Chewy? Why wait until now when there's a WC starting in a couple of weeks that most, if not all, of our potential targets could be flying out to? Take your time to decide, alright, no problem with that, but there's no reason why that process would have to take until now to start.
They know what direction they are going forward with, they would have known before yesterday's game. If the decision was to part ways with Arne, it should be done as soon as. imo I don't see any reason why he wouldn't have been gone by today.
25 May 2026 14:09:24
Im sorry, Why0why, was Alonso, or was he not sounded out about the LFC job while he was at Leverkusen? I was under the impression he had been seen, as it is common knowledge he was Edward's first choice.
Now I salute Alonso for staying at Bayer, I like the loyalty. I was under the impression, though, that if he had wanted the LFC job back then it was his.
25 May 2026 14:18:59
Now we enter the realm of "sounded out" as opposed to "offered the job" or "rejected".
Alonso, the person central to this, stated he has never interviewed for or discussed the Liverpool head coach role with Liverpool.
Now, did his agent have contact with Liverpool representatives, maybe? Has he "rejected" Liverpool, nope, has he "turned us down", nope.
As I said, staying on at your current club does not necessarily mean you've "rejected" another club. Blythe Spartans weren't rejected by Alonso, as they probably never interviewed him or made him an offer.
25 May 2026 14:44:18
Dream positive, fellas. I'm going for no announcement yet because they have promised Enrique's agent not to create any hint that he will leave PSG. Then, after the CL Final, PSG announce him leaving, Slot announces he's off & the rest writes itself.
I know it's a long shot, but it's far better than imagining Slot will be the manager when next season kicks off. 😀
YNWA - Dare to dream.
25 May 2026 14:53:33
If they're going to sack Slot, it will be once his contract ticks over to one year remaining. As the pay-out will be significantly reduced, which makes sense considering the outrageous money we spent last summer.
25 May 2026 15:07:55
SzSz8
This is the only viable conclusion I am entertaining.
Isak to Atleti, swap for Alvarez.
Wirtz to Bayern, swap for Olise.
Gakpo to the farm for imbeciles, cash insurance, buy Diomande.
Mac10 to Madrid, buy Anderson.
Frimpong to Dortmund, buy Munoz/Kayode.
Kerkez to Newcastle, swap for Hall.
Buy Quansah back (£30m).
Buy Barcola (£80m).
£110m expenditure. Enrique, win the lot.
Re-sign Robbo and Mo.
25 May 2026 15:17:10
Why0Why, I'm with you, accept we should keep Wirtz & Isak, obviously still getting Alvarez & Olise. 😀
25 May 2026 15:20:12
Would we not have to wait until the 30th of June for that, hsl? Isn't that the date most contracts end?
25 May 2026 14:03:17
We're just going back through Rodgers 14/15 season again only Slot was lucky everyone else was worse, Rodgers was found out in exactly the same way and also only just scraped 60 points while losing double digits in matches. Slot will cling on to his job like a stubborn turd that just won't flush away due to weak and poor leadership at the top of the club. The players we are targeting and likely to bring in will not make a blind bit of difference(forget Barcola & Diomande, I reckon we end up with dross like Minteh & Nusa, as for midfield along with the painfully slow Wharton, Slot wants a reunion with Koopmeiners by all accounts and he's absolutely dog muck, as well as also wanting Dumfries, I can only refer to Ed001's assessment of him), if Slot isn't fired and continues it will be the same poor results only with a smattering of new faces.
Just like 15/16, I think it's fair to say Slot will probably be getting his P45 before the start of November, only there isn't a Jurgen Klopp to save us from this mess.
25 May 2026 15:39:00
SzSz8 - Trust me on this, I've seen a lot of players put on the red shirt and a lot have just worn it. Some players fill it.
Wirtz & Isak aren't Liverpool players. There is nothing about them that looks and acts like a Liverpool player. They're both missing something - Isak looks scared of his own shadow and Wirtz looks like he needs special headphones when it thunders. They both have that vague lost look that Timo Werner had.
There isn't an inch of fight in them. They will go down as our two worst ever signings. Flo is plying futsal and Isak needs a team built to feed him chances. That's not Liverpool. Flow would be great in Spain or Germany.... Isak would do well when he fancies it in Italy or Spain.
Season 27/28, you'll be praying we can sell them for reasonable money. Awful signings.
25 May 2026 15:56:49
@whyohwhy
"Isak would do well when he fancies it in Italy or Spain"
His record in the Premier League for Newcastle surely speaks for itself?
25 May 2026 16:09:16
Why0Why, Wtf should I trust you. 🤣 I'm 50 years old, been a Liverpool supporter since 1981 & have a pretty good idea of what makes a Liverpool player.
Wirtz already took the Bundesliga by storm & Isak smashed in goals for fun in the EPL (so your statement is redundant)! I'm positive they will both be super stars at Liverpool, they just need tactics that allow them to play their game.
Whatever happens I will never be praying over any players sell on or purchase fee ffs. 🤣
25 May 2026 16:18:40
How good is it, Navy Keith? His career has two good years, two. He's 26.
He was good in a team that was entirely designed to get the ball to him as soon as viable. We don't do that. Every player (Barnes, Gordon, Murphy, Willock) were tasked with doing his running for him.
He scored 52 non-penalty goals in 109 games. That's about the same rate as Mane, a winger.
He's a decent player, but he's not right for Liverpool.
If Edwards wasn't hell bent on proving Klopp wrong, we'd never have spent so much on him and had Slot admitting he didn't know how to play Hugo and Isak at the same time.
Went on strike, won't press, exhausted after 20 minutes, always injured - he wasn't great business.
25 May 2026 16:30:25
Nice that you used Mane as a winger who basically scored as many goals as a lot of CFs. 😆 52 outa 109 with no penalty kicks is actually good going. Are we discounting penalty goals now, like Bruno setpiece assists?. 😆
25 May 2026 16:32:11
So did Werner, so did Sancho, so did Havertz - excelling in Germany isn't a litmus test.
Flo has been terrible. Genuinely awful. If he wasn't to be valued based on this season, he'd be £40m.
Isak has a one in two goal return for two seasons, and he's 26.
His return is the same as Mane, but Mane was a winger and did so much.
Isak just scores goals and isn't super at it.
So, given that you have seen this, and arrived at the conclusion we need to keep them, then I cannot trust your decision making.
Let's revisit next March. I will wager any money you will say, "but how could we know".
25 May 2026 16:38:34
Didn't Mane share the Golden Boot one year?
25 May 2026 16:55:35
I'm not sure anyone in Spain would want Isak, he's a crock. Also, why let the men that bought all of these flops sell them and buy another load this year. That is quite insane.
I do agree, though, that Isak and Frimpong and Kerkez should be sold. I'd maybe hang on to Wirtz cos he'll be built like Arnie by the time preseason is over. We could stick him in CDM lol.
25 May 2026 16:56:58
Yes, because he was exceptional. Isak isn't.
As I said, if you watched him h ing to do sprints at half time because he didn't run enough, if you watched him have zero impact on a game. If you watched him sat on the bench not watching the match, watched him refuse to go on preseason, watched him break down physically time and again and thought "yep, he's mega" I have a bridge to sell you.
See you in March 27. You will all deny you championed him.
25 May 2026 17:34:24
Who's championing anybody? Just not ready to write off a bloke who's been injured half the season off yet. Comparing anybody in their position to what Sadio Mane was in his is a waste of time. The bloke was outrageous. Second only among wingers to the Egyptian King.
25 May 2026 17:55:02
I'm with you, Why0why. Isak is our new Andy Carroll. But possibly worse, or on a bigger scale. Alarm bells were ringing as soon as I saw the links and I thought. Our club would never waste that sort of money, even on a good player with an excellent fitness record. Then it happened. I really have no idea what they were thinking of. He is so lazy and permanently injured.
It was a very odd transfer window when we really needed a CB and a CDM and a right back, and we went and spent £450m on players that don't fit or we didn't need, then scratch our heads at the end of the season and wonder why or where it all went wrong. It was almost like Isak was bought to show off or to stop another team getting him. I don't like him, he's lazy.
25 May 2026 18:32:08
I honestly feel the Isak deal was Edwards and Edwards alone.
He left after Klopp pulled rank to sign Nunez over Isak. He's back, and he's paid so far over the odds to sign a suspect player, and I think he wants to win that argument.
As is, he's not. I say this honestly. I want to be wrong, I want to watch him score 30 goals and win the league, but he's just not a Liverpool player. Robbo is the archetype, he's a nark who will run himself unconscious to win. Isak doesn't have that aggression. I'm not writing off an injured player. Early in the season, before his injury, he was spectacularly bad.
I used to watch him at Newcastle a lot, and at no point did I think "we need him". We don't do well with target men nines who need to be fed. That's never been our way for 30 years, and if one of you says "what about Rush" - that man invented a forward press, he ran his blood to water and the term "defending from the front" was coined about him.
Hand on heart, if any of you could go back in time and sign someone else for £150m would you? Not Dembele, not Alvarez, not Kane - you'd sign Isak still?
25 May 2026 18:47:40
It was £125m. So if Isak presses from the front next season, will he qualify as an LFC No.9 for you? Because his finishing is not in question.
25 May 2026 19:01:18
He's a Liverpool No.9 because we signed him to do that and that's his squad number.
If he does something he's never done, that the manager doesn't encourage anyone to do (seemingly), if he stays fit, and if he takes the chances he's been given, will I be happier?
Are you a Reform voter? You seem a bit slow.
Also, to clarify - when you say "his finishing isn't in question," it is; I am directly questioning it. I think he's had chances this season before his injury, and he's missed a hatful.
I honestly think if Nunez missed the chances Isak did this season, he'd have had a campaign from online weirdos.
So to sum this up, I don't accept your premise about his finishing. I don't think he will press. I don't think he will remain without injury. I don't think after Nov, Slot will be manager, and I don't think he will be a regular starting option after next season - and I suspect you'll all deny that you thought his "finishing wasn't in question".
25 May 2026 19:23:50
Why0Why you do think alot, take a cold shower & clear your head mate.
Throughout this thread you have made comments as facts & have been pulled up on there accuraccy. Now resorting to insults because you are losing the arguement, you are not coming across well
25 May 2026 19:41:16
Lots of opinions, Why0why, but I totally agree on Isak: it was always hard for me to see how he suits our team.
I disagree on Wirtz. He is willing to run and has skills no one else has in our team. If we get back to playing fast attacking, pressing football, I think he excels as either the advanced mid or a false 9.
Currently, he looks lost and demoralized, which I don't blame him for, cause Slot has us all demoralized.
24 May 2026 12:58:11
It looks like Liverpool have looked at GK Bento from Al Nassr for the long term. The Brazilian is contracted there until 2028 but could be available for sale next summer.
24 May 2026 14:00:30
Fray Bentos Pies?
24 May 2026 14:10:03
I love Fray Bentos Pies.
24 May 2026 14:24:04
A pie out a tin with a side of Smash... I can actually hear that irritating robot jingle now 30+ years on!
24 May 2026 15:04:26
Let's send Arne a Fray Bentos pie as a leaving gift.
As a joke, I once sent Brendan Rodgers a parcel of PG Tips teabags and a loaf of Hovis Sliced White Bread to Celtic's training ground.
Not sure if he ever received it, though, or knew anything about it, as they were probably binned by his PA.
I sent it to him because when he was Liverpool manager, it was said he would pore over tactics at 3am in the morning over slices of toast and tea.
Not that it did him any good. His tactics were still poor He should never have been LF Manager in the first place.
24 May 2026 16:51:43
We can knock Rodgers, but the football we played under him for the season we finished second was some of the best I've seen Liverpool play.
24 May 2026 17:54:36
Best. Mmmmhh, not really. Entertaining. We will outscore you. Yeh.
Until the girls dries up, and we were... pretty much where we are now, awful at the back. Stake. Lacking attacking intent... Lacking quality... Lacking... well, in pretty much every department.
24 May 2026 18:12:47
Fray Bentos pie, Smash and Marrafat peas... That's my tea sorted. Thanks lads!!
24 May 2026 18:11:08
Girls hate boring football
24 May 2026 18:58:25
One great season out of the Rodgers tenure. The rest was made bearable by the quality of tu Frontline and especially Suarez. I still shudder at the 4 CBs at home vs Southampton and losing 1-0.
West Brom battering us 3-0 and sauntering through the team when we drew 1-1 with them. Rodgers showed how out of depth he was after Suarez left. 2014/15 was as dire a full season until arguably this season.
24 May 2026 19:02:49
There's more meat on a caterpillar's c**k than there is in one of those stray Bentos pies. It even says on the tin, danger- may contain meat.
24 May 2026 20:05:32
That season under Rodgers was incredible attacking football but it was pretty much down to Suarez. Whatever your views on him, you cannot deny that was one of the incredible seasons by any player in Premier League history. 31 goals in 33 appearances with 12 assists. Insane. Just a shame he's a cheating scumbag
24 May 2026 20:10:17
HH, I'm sitting at the pool in Miami for the Memorial Day weekend, enjoying the airshow. But I'd swap this for your suggestion! You've made me hungry!!
24 May 2026 20:46:06
The only difference is Rodgers and Slot is Salah got Slot over the line. Suarez didn't get Rodgers. Suarez left, we fell off a cliff. Salah's level dropped, the same happened. Imagine that 13/14 team with VVD and Alisson at the back.
Would Slot have won last season with Mignolet and Skrtel? There is no point going into next season and making the change in November and writing another year off. He's not the man for the job.
24 May 2026 21:35:26
Bento?
I expect he commands the box.
25 May 2026 00:57:23
Is there only one pool in Miami?
That's not good. It must be a Miami Vice.
25 May 2026 01:09:32
Bento is out of shape.
25 May 2026 02:38:17
Only one Rigsby. It's crowded. 😂
25 May 2026 06:18:42
Is this a proper rumour or is it just spam?
25 May 2026 06:37:51
We are sellers. Let's see, come what may, if Bento aine coming or not. I'm Team Milly, gan to us as coach, by the way.
25 May 2026 13:32:30
RF69, sorry mate!!
I understand though, we were there for the Memorial weekend a few years ago. The aircraft flying over that beach was amazing!
Pity the beach is not good though.
Enjoy your hols. I enjoyed my tea!!
24 May 2026 10:43:03
Morning Gents.
Been told Ali has no intentions of leaving Liverpool this summer.
Some good news.
Happy bank holoday weekend.
24 May 2026 11:06:50
Heard the same myself mate. This really is good news. Just need to keep him fit now.
24 May 2026 11:12:35
Boom! The best news.
24 May 2026 11:13:50
Great news! (So long as Edwards & Hughes aren't here when we go to find his replacement.)
24 May 2026 11:17:23
That is awesome news!
One more season with The #1.
I just hope Slot or suits doesn't decide to try and push him out!
The debate for him or Clenence as our best goalkeeper of all time can be put aside until he does leave.
Never have I been more wrong about a signing. I remember him in goal at Roma when we ran riot... and were linked with him that summer and Butland... I thought Butland was the safer bet!!!!!
The man oozes class.
24 May 2026 11:28:58
Yesssss, Robbo!
Cheers.
24 May 2026 11:39:48
I'm too young to remember Clemence. Think my first goalie was James, then the Dutch guy. Neither of which will be remembered for their greatness. Reina was good, but I think Allison for me is the best.
24 May 2026 11:41:51
Brilliant news.
24 May 2026 11:46:58
Slot - "Hold my beer."
24 May 2026 11:51:40
Best goalie by a mile in my lifetime. Needs to stay fit though.
24 May 2026 11:52:59
Cheers Robbo, that's brilliant news. He's the one leaving that I was most concerned about.
If his next season turns out to be his last, then we need to use that year to either ensure Mama is coached by the best and ups his game, or we look for a better replacement.
Either way, he's almost irreplaceable as there's such an obvious drop in quality and general standards as a player.
I'm really gonna miss him when he goes. (Not been this disappointed since Torres left and Beardsley years before that.)
24 May 2026 12:20:08
Am a massive Alisson fan, best goalkeeper since Clemence, but you can't compare them just because of what Clemence won, he was outstanding and should have been England's no1 over Shilton.
24 May 2026 12:31:13
Very difficult to replace him.
I mean, to find a no1, I don't think a proper, actual replacement exists tbh.
Such a good keeper. Too good for Juve, perfect for us.
Len.
24 May 2026 12:31:53
Well, that's one we can strike off the 'players who absolutely despise Slot and can't wait to leave' conspiracy theory list for the time being, thankfully. Of course, it could be possible that he's been told that Slot's leaving.
24 May 2026 12:37:27
That to me is the best news I've heard in ages. Love him.
24 May 2026 13:06:01
The best possible news.
24 May 2026 14:44:21
I hope his fortune turns regarding injuries. It will be great to have a top class keeper available for the greater part of the season. That is one of the foundation stones for a title challenge.
24 May 2026 14:49:27
Didn't Edwards play a big part in signing him?
24 May 2026 14:57:13
Great news. Still No.1, and the longer the other keepers in the club train with him, the better!!!
24 May 2026 15:56:08
Great news!
24 May 2026 17:00:01
Mama is very poor with the ball at his feet, and doesn't particularly command his box physically. Difficult to see how he can be coached on both those aspects. He seems a decent shot stopper, but nowhere near as good one on one as Ali either.
24 May 2026 17:42:10
Alli poor for that goal today.
24 May 2026 20:11:06
Thx, Robbo. Let's hope Ali tells FSG it's him or it's me. Landslide.
25 May 2026 00:02:46
That's cool. Always hoped it would play out so that Alli sees out his contract then leaves on a free.
25 May 2026 01:12:30
I don't think we were linked with Butland at the time we were looking at buying Alisson.
23 May 2026 13:11:55.
The end of season review will take place within the next 2 weeks. I am not privy to the actual date, just that it will be in that period. Things will become more clearer then if Slot goes or stays. Currently, I'm still led to believe he is leaving.
This is from a rep of The STC.
Talk of a Reijnen being appointed is off the mark, they are considering it. Slot has sounded him out about it but nothing is confirmed.
23 May 2026 14:10:18
I don't see the need for an end of season review, or have they not watched any of the games all season? What reason could they have to keep him?
23 May 2026 14:10:48
So, Fields, may I ask why everyone says he's staying? Every reporter, every journalist. Even the Anfield Agenda guy has said he had an inside guy tell him Slot was going; he came back on air at 12.35 am and said he got it wrong. Slot stays. He's even said he will resign from Anfield Agenda. What makes you think he will go, Fields?
23 May 2026 14:24:42
@Thefields says he's staying as well as Carra, so technically that's not "everyone".
23 May 2026 14:25:29
The Anfield Agenda guy is not the person you look at for credibility.
23 May 2026 14:26:32
Grav, Romano said there'll be an end of season review. I know he's not the most reliable, but there's 1 who said so.
Also, Slot may stay, but there is always an end of season review at every club to see what went well and what didn't. Whether that points to Slot staying or going is another matter.
23 May 2026 14:27:50
Feels like the "review" angle covers both outcomes - if he stays, it's after the review, if he goes, it just backs the earlier info.
At this stage, it's anyone's guess really.
23 May 2026 14:28:15
Another thing I've listened to Craig at Anfield Agenda a few times. I would take everything he says as gospel. He may be right on this, but I still wouldn't hold him to it.
23 May 2026 14:34:36
It's mad to think that we live in a society now where if you get one thing wrong you have to quit or step down. I'm glad no one ever scrutinises my work or I'd be out on my ear.
I reckon his offer to stand down is just a bit dramatic and I doubt he will actually do it.
It's easiest if people just accept that Slot is here until he is not here. He will be sacked at some point. Maybe just not this year or the following year. It would be mental if he got his wingers and stuff and won us the league again. But I don't think he can. Not with that midfield.
23 May 2026 14:35:51
Thanks TF. How can you remain the manager of LFC having lost 20 games and seemingly lost most of the dressing room? Not to mention the majority of the fanbase. The review should be straightforward and done already. I hope you're right. We need to snap up Iraola before he gets snapped up elsewhere.
23 May 2026 14:57:13
Would be ridiculous to wait 2 weeks to make a decision. Potential replacements may be signed up by then, esp. Iraola.
23 May 2026 14:39:01
Gmil, the review is not just about football matters. It covers financial and commercial stuff as well. Hence it being an end of season review.
Grav, if your source of info is from a mentally unstable person who sells themself for views. You need to review your sources. Myself and Carra have been steadfast in our belief Slot is gone, that's not changed since before Christmas. I have a multitude of contacts from agents/reps to executives at clubs which have been nurtured over years of meetings, conferences, events and the work I do.
WTR, it does but if I'm wrong I'm wrong its as simple as that.
23 May 2026 14:42:07
Grav7, Slot staying on is a non-story. Ask yourself why the press is pushing it so hard when it's not news at all. Why has it conveniently been pushed immediately prior to big games on numerous occasions during this critical run in? If you're not sure, I'll tell you. The club uses the media to push narratives during situations of unrest in order to unify the fanbase and rally them behind the team in an attempt to quell the noise. Resounding boos can have a detrimental effect on the players and their performances, so the club does everything it can to prevent that when Champions League qualification and up to £200m in revenue hangs on a knife edge.
Craig from Anfield Agenda does not have inside sources; he regularly runs some of the worst clickbait stories out there and has no issue sharing pieces from dogrubbish outlets with zero credibility. Just look at the chaps thumbnails. He's all about generating views.
23 May 2026 14:50:00
Robbo is here talking me off the ledge. My hero (for now).
23 May 2026 15:09:10
Someone said previously that Gakpo has Slots nudes and that is why he was getting so much game time lol. But maybe slot has Hughes and Edwards nudes in a comprising situation and that is why they are terrified of firing him.
I'm not ITK, just a theory I am working on
23 May 2026 15:21:19
Inbeta, apparently Slot's tongue is more silver than the STC's.
23 May 2026 15:22:34
Inbeta1989, 🤣 Lucky man that Gakpo. Whatever they're up to, they're certainly in bed together.
23 May 2026 15:27:09
Fields, I always thank you for your quick information. I can't predict and tell you every variable that changes so quickly, as someone who does similar work in other countries.
23 May 2026 15:39:07
Not sure what's worse InBeta, our season or seeing Slot nude. 🤣
23 May 2026 16:26:23
I was told a long time ago that there was going to be an end of season review to include all football operations.
It's why I've been steadfast in my view that Slot would see the season out.
23 May 2026 16:51:02
Slot is lucky, as with a head like that it could be suggested that he has two helmets.
23 May 2026 17:38:53
Sound Fields, I hope you're right mate.
23 May 2026 17:49:39
I posted a couple of days ago that there was a massive project going on behind the scenes at LFC, of which a recently reacquainted school friend is a part of.
I suggested that this season was more a data gathering exercise. The project was prepared for roll out during Klopp's last season. Could it have anything to do with his departure? Maybe he didn't consider himself the man to carry it out.
It aims to redefine, reinvent or reimagine the game itself. It goes higher than the three amigos in Slot, Hughes and Edwards.
They are simply tasked to oversee its implementation and analyse the data.
You see Slot using the word 'evolve' a lot now. VVD saying to 'have faith in the process'.
Something big is afoot and you can expect an entirely different season come August.
Listen out for noises around 'big changes', Slot's use of the word 'evolution' or its derivatives. Anything that points to systemic change.
The only question in my mind is whether it will be drip fed or dumped all at once. Recruitment will be laser targeted to fit the project.
23 May 2026 17:58:13
It does feel like things have changed with us fans. The 2022-23 season was awful, with Fabinho and Jordan's form falling off a cliff. But I don't remember fans getting so personal, they just got frustrated.
Some of the abuse Gakpo currently gets feels quite unpleasant. Yes, he's had an awful season (along with our other winger - who seems to get a free pass - and every other player) - but I don't get why people have to be so snide about his relationship with Slot?
Yes, I think Gakpo reached his (high) ceiling last year and he is not at Diaz's level, but he comes across as a very decent guy, and was very effective last year.
23 May 2026 18:13:52
We weren't having a go at Gakpo, it was just a bit of Craic. I'm having a go at the coach for playing him over and over when it is clear the guy needs a rest. I'm sure his confidence is shot to bits. I have nothing against the guy, seems like a good spud.
23 May 2026 18:19:38
Monster,
Social media is one aspect of that. However, I believe we have turned because of results.
Goes with every supporter, but if a team is playing well and winning, it doesn't matter if a player is poor or not as good. Different when you're losing.
23 May 2026 18:29:02
I am with you, inbeta. Craic is fine. I am just a bit overly protective of the players who were so great last year, and thinking more generally about the way we speak about them.
Not a dig at your banter!
23 May 2026 18:35:25
Anfield Agenda is just a click bait site, all he does is moan, knows sweet fa.
23 May 2026 18:08:38
Eda. Edit this to be presentable. i'm saying it as I feel.
Get the person out of the club. the club has lost its soul, and his style.of football ain't bringing it back
23 May 2026 18:45:31
It's the way we are losing. It's unprecedented for its dullness.
23 May 2026 19:20:21
Spot on, Karlos.
Enough is enough now.
If by some miracle this guy is still our manager at the start of the next season, then there is something seriously wrong at our club, and we should all be very concerned.
23 May 2026 19:22:42
Cheers monster. I have noticed that there has been a lot of abuse of Gakpo. But for me it should be directed at MacA, Konate, VVD, Wirtz, yeah, Wirtz and even Szobozlai at times. Szobo has saved our bacon a lot this season, but I think he can be better. Konate has been a complete disgrace all season, and wouldn’t bat an eyelid or care at all if he left for free. Never rated the guy.
MacA is probably the most frustrating one that angers me. He was so good last season and has been miles off it all season.
So, if so many players are all massively out of form, you can only assume it is because of the coaching or tactics. That is why I am giving most of these players a bye ball this season, because I think the blame lies with Slot. He tried something and it hasn’t worked, and he is not good enough to fix it or turn it around. Fingers crossed we get our m wish of a new manager and things start seeming a bit more positive.
23 May 2026 19:49:46
But something is up with Mac? He had an unspecified injury which kept him out for months. I don't think the guy is very well.
23 May 2026 20:03:55
Everyone think it's not just a coincidence that most of our players have had a stinker this season... just coincides with Slot putting his slant on tactics and things going to complete s***. People saying Konate, Robbo, Macca, Salah etc form was naturally dropping and should go.
What happens if a manager comes in and gets all the players firing again... I think we'll really regret losing Mo and Andy, as well as whoever decides to leave because of the way the team is being managed.
23 May 2026 19:00:33
@Giveisafagmax i'm not saying your wrong but the fact that Slot doesn't have a new contract in front of him I'm not sure he's the one to take the club forward.
23 May 2026 19:15:59
The Americans are coming, and they hate nothing more than their asset depreciating (PR embarrassment). A change is 100% inevitable.
23 May 2026 20:27:43
I can't believe FSG are so far from the feeling of the fans towards Slot. I really can't think of things being so bad between the manager and the fans.
FSG own two of the biggest clubs in sport, where the fans are so important, with us and the Red Sox.
They will have social media monitored, and will see how far it's gone.
They have seen bad times with us, but the last few games the feeling in the ground is toxic towards Slot.
It should have been announced that he was leaving before the last game, for fans to say goodbye to Slot alongside Salah and Robertson, but nothing, and I feel the atmosphere will be very strange tomorrow because of this.
23 May 2026 20:29:05
Dare I say it, but I think the club reckons no manager could have done well this season. Diogo's death was so awful, and so unprecedented, that no manager can be judged on this recovery programme of a season.
I reckon that the club sticks with Slot. I am not convinced that is the correct call, but I reckon it is likely. I, for one, have huge sympathy for Slot this season - it cannot be easy managing a grief stricken squad, particularly if you are also hit by grief.
I love Mo, but he has behaved like a bellend over the past few seasons - to Klopp, and now to Slot. Self-serving posts don't help the team, nor the club. I know that great performances over a decade give him some leeway, but he has behaved like a total wanker. And it's totally inappropriate given what happened to the club.
23 May 2026 20:37:22
Fields, question you don't have to answer, but do you know Carra? Just out of curiosity.
23 May 2026 20:40:10
@Giveusafagmaxineimgasping -
Can you narrow down more what you are referring to? I am led to believe the data led approach has increased even more than previous but in what way "reinvent" the game?
Ken
23 May 2026 20:47:17
I completely agree. Robbo has much more to give. So does Mo, I reckon. Clearly they can't stand Slot.
I really want Slot to go, but if he stays, we just have to hope the club knows what it is doing and has some contingencies in place for a season or two outside of European competitions and a high turnover of mediocre players like the end of Rafa's reign.
I personally don't think I can sit through another 90 minutes of Slot ball. It just bores the life out of me and is stressful. I just wish some of the guys would run a bit and pass it forwards. Just basic stuff like.
23 May 2026 21:08:15
Iago, good question. 😂 Tbh, mate, no I don't know Carra, but it's possible our paths may have crossed and neither of us would have known. Liverpool is a small town.
23 May 2026 21:23:54
I do hope that bald idiot does quit Anfield Agenda. Conner is much better. It's just fluff to listen to in the background but that bald guy so angry with the world. Jeez
23 May 2026 21:30:11
Giveusafagmaxineimgasping - The data is going beyond players, and now involves to patterns of play, trends and how to stay ahead of the curve.
As Slot, Amorin and Naby have proven though, stats mean F all if the human factors are not incuded in the reckoning.
FSG are about to elevate the data game.
23 May 2026 21:48:50
Defence of Gakpo is insanity. Opposition has worked him out, full stop. Lack of game time for Ngumoha is beyond obtuse. Don't get me started on the extraordinary amount of goals we've conceded. A Sunday league manager could get more out of this group than Slot; players have clearly stopped playing for him.
Worst period since Hodgson, and with ten times the talent. High time for an Edwards, Hughes and Slot cull.
23 May 2026 21:50:04
Football is not about data. It is a simple game, over complicated.
23 May 2026 22:00:31
Genius, don't use unusual words unless you know how to use them, eg obtuse.
23 May 2026 22:18:40
Obtuse means "difficult to comprehend". Jog on.
23 May 2026 22:30:30
Monstersouness (one word): I have an English degree and copywrite for a living. Don't be an ultracrepidarian.
23 May 2026 22:43:45
I have to say, @FSGen, you hide it well. I assume you have an understanding of the word hyperbole?
23 May 2026 22:55:15
I mean that's literally in both senses what I do for a living. But, whatevs, as you teenagers say.
23 May 2026 23:03:19
He's literally the other end of the age spectrum. It's like criticising the guy who talks about bananas to the pigeons on the seafront.
23 May 2026 23:20:29
Ok, I'm going to have to watch this guy on Anfield Agenda because it seems I'm the only one not watching.
FOMO.
23 May 2026 22:57:38
Giveusafagmaxineimgasping, sounds like a load the biggest load of waffle mate. We didn't spend £450m on some of the most wanted players in the game for a data exercise. 🤣
24 May 2026 00:09:27
Wouldn't bother Ron. He's a wally who regurgitates whatever he's read online as his own info.
24 May 2026 07:58:05
"Laser focused recruitment"? What a load of nonsense. Judging by the purported targets, we'll just have the same problems as this year, only with new faces looking inept and out of place. By the sound of it, we're not looking at bringing in a defensive midfielder, but instead we're looking at Adam Wharton & Teun Koopmeiners, who are both every bit as slow, immobile and defensively non existent as Mac Allister. Our targets for the wing are uninspiring to say the least (Nusa, Bowen, Minteh & Akliouch).
We're apparently interested in Dumfries at right back, which makes absolutely no sense given his age, injury history and the fact he's a wing back who can't defend (as well as the fact he's an utter cretin). Same old s*** next season with the same clueless manager but with players we'll struggle to get shot of when Slot gets fired due to the continuing poor results.
24 May 2026 09:11:17
I think somebody from that toxic site as infiltrated these pages. The guy has serious mental health issues, or is just a nasty piece of work.
I am just to old for all that Entitled bull, that comes from the guy. He demands this from the Owners or that from the Coach. And he has serious issues with the people from Liverpool and SOS, because they see him for what he his. Somebody who is making serious money off the name of our great club. He tries to spread division between all our fans. Making him self the champion of our global fanbase. I honestly have no prejudice against any fan, local or Global. But I will stand up for my city.
I support Liverpool football club and have been going since the mid seventies. Aged 11, I use to get up at 5.30am on a Saturday and Sunday morning with my older brother and meet the milkman up the road, then help him deliver the milk till 8.30am. I am not sure how much my Brother was paid, but it was enough to get a bus to the ground, a bag of chips, entrance to the Kop and a bottle of pop to share on our way home.
Sadly my brother passed away 15 years ago and I pushed him in a wheelchair to his final game. A midweek Europa League game, it finished 0-0 against Sparta and unfortunately my brother never saw the 2nd leg as he was in a coma and passed sometime after.
I don't watch this Craig bloke because of his fake over reactions to football matches, so he makes money from views. If he as threatened to resign, don't believe him it will be self pity click bait.
I know we all have our own stories of how we started loving the club or whatever team we stick up for.
I am a genuine guy, who has come on this site since the day it branched off from the original football rumours. Anyway have a nice day and let's hope we can finish the season with a win. "Come On You Reds." That's for you Kidder.
24 May 2026 09:27:12
Yeah agree with VV, what bright spark speaks up in a meeting and says "I know, let's make our recruitment 'laser focused'"?
The implication being that it's not already laser focused, perhaps it's just 'a bit blurred'.
I do genuinely think Jota's death had a big effect on the players mentally but the tactical approach and intention is still wrong for the Premier League.
I also think the huge summer spending sent expectations so high that they were never likely to be met. To spend 0 one summer and win the league, then spend £450m gross and fall flat on your backside shows there is something amiss.
24 May 2026 10:42:40
Recruitment will be laser targeted to fit the project? Who's project? Edwards' football manager fantasy based on data and trends?
We can already see how that's been working out by choosing Slot, Isak, Frimpong etc.
Edwards and Hughes are incomparable to Jurgen, Ian and Edwards.
This is about power gone rogue.
24 May 2026 13:08:22
If AS was getting bin bagged, I would assume that the club would be professional in their handling of the timing and we would only find out when they want us to. I like that about the club.
No dirty laundry on view.
Also, CG is a decent fella and probably would be more successful if he would just pass to Kerkez.
Finally, Itstrue, really nice post mate.

Apologies, Genius. Didn't mean to be a twat, but the way you used obtuse seemed like you were having a dig at yourself for wilfully misunderstanding Slott's decisions. In my experience, nasty people call you obtuse if you can't understand, or basically agree with, their argument.
So, it's a word I dislike and I felt it was doing the opposite of what you intended. But my response was poor.

The decent fella is a slum lord, he overcharges his tenants while they live in rat infested, mouldy and poorly maintained buildings.
Gakpo earns £250, 000 per week and charges working class people higher than the average rent.
They also belong to Jesus.

It's sensible to review everything and to do it with some time between the end of the season.
It's not the season anyone wanted and that includes Slot. But there is an opportunity to launch again into next season.
Making emotional and abrupt decisions has never been FSG's way of operating, and I admire it.
The alternative is what other clubs have been doing for years.
I'm ok with how we do things, as the alternative is no guarantee of any greater success than what we've seen.
Also, the Anfield Agenda guy saying he's going to quit if his info on Slot going doesn't pan out is just childish. But his content is often very childish.

Has Liverpool ever shown interest in Belloumi of Hull? Great talent and one of the reasons Hull are where the are today. Plus we would still have a Mo in the squad. 😊
23 May 2026 12:41:21
I would say Hull's success is mainly from Koumas.
23 May 2026 14:54:13
Tobi 3, We're the post saying that Carra says Slot is staying carnt seem to find it. 🤔
23 May 2026 15:01:19
I remember Vennegoor of Hesselink.
23 May 2026 15:29:11
That's a blast from the past, Rigsby!!!!
23 May 2026 16:28:16
Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink. 😁
Combined with Zoltan Gera for one of the best footballer crisp flavours.
Zoltan Vennegoor of Hesselink.
23 May 2026 18:32:08
Nice one, Ron. 😂
23 May 2026 11:41:37
Liverpool reached an agreement with Celtic FC yesterday for highly-rated 16-year-old Scottish defender Dara Jikiemi, who had been closely monitored by the club for months. He'll officially join the academy setup on July 1st.
23 May 2026 12:45:10
We'll have the best defense in 2030.
23 May 2026 13:24:43
He's Finnish.
23 May 2026 13:26:30
Liverpool are going down the Chelsea model. Buying young players that will never break into the first team. Utter crap philosophy.
23 May 2026 13:41:54
Bit harsh on a 17 year old MK, give the lad a chance !!
23 May 2026 14:36:49
Or maybe just strengthening our youths, TheOne. We shouldnt even be hearing about this signing. You can blame the internet age for that.
23 May 2026 16:55:45
I don't like all this. Was it Ben Doak we signed and seldom played? He was flying before us, and it can ruin a player's morale, particularly a kid. Wrong, and so is waving a new set of keys for their parents' house. I know several local kids here at Utd and City, and it makes my skin crawl.
There should be a rule. Think of your early Utd teams and Stevie and Carra coming through? Clubs are losing their identity! I'm old fashioned but I want the true reserves back; young local Scouse lads playing competitively to break into that main team, but still as a decent standard ready for that step-up.
23 May 2026 21:18:51
We made money off Ibe, Brewster, Sterling, Doak, Solanke. So buying good youngsters and giving them a platform for a season or 2 has been profitable for the club.
23 May 2026 10:15:49
Also been told Alisson & Jones are being pushed out by Slot & they want to stay but that looks like only if he goes.
23 May 2026 10:38:52
Where'd you hear that, Racey?
23 May 2026 10:57:07
Garbage. Alisson is the most low maintenance, top professional you'd find. Anytime he's fit, he's been straight back in the team under Slot. People are forgetting this group had one of the best weeks of celebration under this coach q2 months ago. He ain't perfect, but he ain't Satan either.
23 May 2026 10:45:43
I'll gladly drive the bald clown back to Holland. He is destroying the club more and more each day.
23 May 2026 10:50:13
Florian, Ed already said on the Banter page (cos I asked him) that Slot is trying to purcge the senior players/legends that have been the fly in the ointment for him since such guys like Salah and Jones (not sure about Ali but he is prolly involved) aren't just content with towing the line and will push back.
So essentially since the senior players are against him then, he is going to create and new dressing room and push out the "disidents", so to speak.
You are free to consulr Ed01 on this because I did.
23 May 2026 11:10:23
Rightly or wrongly, if there are fractures, then one of the solutions is to clean house.
23 May 2026 11:22:23
Whatever is happening - it all feels very moneyball - get rid of the old guard and use the data irrespectively of what is happening right in front of your face.
23 May 2026 11:22:41
@FM, It was the same person that told me about Slot staying. 👍
23 May 2026 11:26:28
Instead of replacing the manager who fell out with senior players from the group that won everything, we decided to get rid of the players instead. Nice clear-out, that.
23 May 2026 11:53:50
Getting rid of winners with knowledge so no one questions his ludicrous ideas. Get rid of as many players as you want, mate, you can't get rid of 60k fans inside the stadium calling you an idiot.
23 May 2026 12:22:41
I have a feeling they're going to spend fortunes again in an attempt to make Slot work...
Who knows, Fergie used to stay relevant by changing his back room staff fairly frequently, so perhaps that's the aim?
Not happy if he stays, but we have to work with it, I guess.
23 May 2026 12:34:26
It won't just be up to Slot who is pushed out or brought in, will it?
I thought he was the head coach.
23 May 2026 12:40:02
No, Oli, it's grand. Just asking where the info was from. Think it's a fair ask, or is "I'm hearing" the new standard for passing on info? Was curious because nothing has ever really been said about Alli. Only problem with him would be the injuries, as he's missed 33 Premier League games over the last 3 seasons.
23 May 2026 12:46:44
To hear that Slot is pushing players out must be some inside info.
23 May 2026 13:52:52
[Ismael Mahmoud] A source close to Alisson: "All signs point to him staying at Liverpool. He is very happy at the club!"
