We need a new cb. Lovren now has injury issues and Matip is not the long term solution. Why not go in big for de ligt that would give us the option of a back three ie Gomez Del ligt Vvd with trent and Robbo as wing backs. It seems senseless to wait just 4 months when we know we will need to buy for next season. Btw De ligt would be my choice but if we can't get him someone of that quality. It also gives the likes of Hoever time to learn. He will only be 21 in 5 years.

Acered

{Ed002's Note - De Ligt will not be moving to Liverpool and I doubt they have the money available to buy him.}

1.) 12 Jan 2019 19:41:47
This defence is the best defence in the premier league for years and years for any team and you think we need to make changes?

2.) 12 Jan 2019 20:05:12
We’ve got 1 first team RB and today had 1 fully fit CB Mikey. Gomez and Matip are both yet to go a season uninjured for LFC and Lovren is a liability.

Yes we are keeping lots of clean sheets, but we very clearly need some new blood too.

3.) 12 Jan 2019 20:07:41
We already have a world class defender in Van Dijk and a potential world class defender in Gomez, why would we spend a fortune on a player to sit on the bench?

4.) 12 Jan 2019 20:10:12
1) We don't play a back 3

2) When Gomez is fit, he has to play. As does VVD (obviously)

3) De Ligt won't sign for anyone to sit on the bench

4) I don't see what the commotion is about De Ligt. He's looked rather ordinary when I've seen him. But I have to admit, he can't be a full international and Ajax captain at 19 without merit. I just haven't witnessed it myself.

5) See 1, 2 and 3.

5.) 12 Jan 2019 20:18:23
We have money if needs be and we have players who can be sold so I would not worry about money if klopp needs it I think he will get backed no matter what van dijk and Allison prove that.

6.) 12 Jan 2019 20:29:30
I think he more means about how injury prone the other 3,are bar vvd! It’s frustrating how soft and fragile they are I have to agree although play gomez with vvd when fit.

7.) 12 Jan 2019 20:34:58
Totally Jay.

8.) 12 Jan 2019 22:14:40
We have the best 2 center backs in the prem in VVD and Gomez why go out and get another, the back ups are Ok in Matip and Lovren, don't panic.

All will be good in a few weeks.

9.) 12 Jan 2019 23:33:03
So, buy like 100 CBs in case they all get injured?

10.) 12 Jan 2019 23:37:32
Play a back 3 when we have about 75% possession in most games? God give me strength, good night and well done for getting the tough 3 points on offer today.

11.) 12 Jan 2019 23:55:58
We need a backup which will remain fit but it isn’t going to be a top cb like de legit.

Hopefully some of the younger players can make that step up next year. Maybe Phillips or Hoever. Maybe both.

12.) 13 Jan 2019 01:54:42
Haha man can some of ya hear yourselves!? So basically we need someone who is good enough, fit enough, has wolverine powers of recovery and will be happy sitting on the bench.

13.) 13 Jan 2019 02:36:27
Who's to say if we were to buy another CB that he'd be fit all season anyway? All teams have certain areas of the pitch that have injuries to more than 1 player at a time. It happens. None of them are long term and the only times we have moved to a back 3 with klopp is in the dying stages of games to try and hang on to a win. Gomez's broken leg was an unlucky impact injury and not muscular, vvd hasn't made it through a full season with us yet either (touch wood he does) . We are not city who can buy world class players to sit on the bench and find a convoluted way of offsetting it to escape ffp. And we have the best defense in the league and still had a clean sheet with a midfielder playing there. We are in good shape.

14.) 13 Jan 2019 03:11:29
Gomez, lovren and matip both have injury concerns. We only have one fit and top cb.

15.) 13 Jan 2019 08:19:20
Van Dijk isn’t bullet proof like some are making out, his injury record at Saints wasn’t great.

16.) 13 Jan 2019 13:31:05
Angus - these are the challenges of a season. An injury crisis would have been juat one fit CB for the rest of the season. Then ok, maybe u look at a solution then.

17.) 13 Jan 2019 14:18:59
Personally, I think we should take a punt on Lloyd Kelly, he’s a really good English prospect and can play left back or centre back very comfortably. He is very rarely found wanting and dominates players much older than himself.

18.) 14 Jan 2019 06:26:54
I agree FMS. I'd put a bid in for Lloyd Kelly. If we get him then ship out Moreno since he has "many offers" and apparently wants to leave for more football, which is fair.

Kelly has this VVD calmness/ cool domeanor to him and is very skillful. Could almost fill in as a winger in an old school 4-4-2. Not that we'd need but he looks like a very versatile and mature young player. I'd take him for the right price!

21 Nov 2018 18:48:11
Probably a question for ed1. Warlock has always waxed lyrical about clyne since his days at palace and there are whispers that Cardiff would be looking to take him in the January TW. How would they fund that type of transfer?

Acered

{Ed001's Note - they have a decent amount of money and Clyne would not be that expensive as we could do with getting his wages off the books.}

1.) 21 Nov 2018 19:10:12
Thanks Ed1 Do you think it will happen?

{Ed001's Note - I certainly expect him to leave and his options are limited, so it seems the most likely move for him right now.}

2.) 22 Nov 2018 09:25:03
Thought Leicester were also interested in Clyne right? And i hope we get a sale than another loan for every Tom, Dick and Harry in our squad that has no future at the club. Hopefully a BPL side with a 12-15 million pound bid comes in and takes Clyne off our hands.

3.) 22 Nov 2018 13:24:08
He's hardly played for about a year and a half, if we're hoping to get any money for him, it won't be much. The saving is in his wages, and giving him a chance to continue his career.

31 Dec 2017 16:49:44

Acered

{Ed025's Note - OK

1.) 31 Dec 2017 17:06:56

2.) 01 Jan 2018 11:43:35
He as only just done a solo tour.

20 Jul 2017 22:07:17
Eds any truth in sacko going to stoke?

Acered

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine please.}

1.) 20 Jul 2017 22:18:06
Fair comment.

2.) 22 Jul 2017 12:47:00
And if the search engine doesn't work, try searching for Sakho instead xD
Makes me mad to see 'fans' still get our players names wrong 😒.

01 Jun 2017 21:17:10
The saga with RS from Fulham I'm totally ok with if he decided to choose spurs instead of us then good luck to him anything else? s need to be asked!

Acered

1.) 01 Jun 2017 21:24:46
We only offered him the chance of under 23 football next season and some cup runs, Spurs have told him he will be competing for a first team spot.

Cheers

Macca.

2.) 01 Jun 2017 21:41:01
That the real macca? Glad your back if this is the real macca!

3.) 01 Jun 2017 21:43:32
Welcome back macca.

4.) 01 Jun 2017 21:43:34
The big man is back is it true ed?

{Ed025's Note - seems that way belfast..

5.) 01 Jun 2017 21:45:28
so yet again we screwed up .

6.) 01 Jun 2017 21:46:51
Any word on clynes future macca and the right back position.? Lacking serious quaility in both wing back positions. Robertson will just add to the problems.

7.) 01 Jun 2017 21:47:41
Also 17 year old lad either staying in London or uprooting, you know it makes sense for him to stay.

8.) 01 Jun 2017 21:48:31
Yep that's the real Macca.

9.) 01 Jun 2017 21:48:32
Macca,

So good to see you posting again mate.

Anything you can add to the transfer news?

All the best.

10.) 01 Jun 2017 22:15:31
Thanks for your reply Macca hope your keeping well and business is good.

11.) 02 Jun 2017 09:38:54
Finally, Liverpool actually tell a player their plan honestly. Good news for the future, better players join us knowing where they stand and are happy and comfortable with it then lying to everyone about being our first choice superstars and having them moaning on the bench all season.

I feel that a player like Bernardo silva is the difference between us and city. Who is that player who could make the difference?

Acered

1.) 10 Jun 2019 19:42:51
Kieta.

2.) 10 Jun 2019 19:55:42
Hopefully virg.

3.) 10 Jun 2019 20:00:21
Fekir or Fernandes hopefully. Would've liked Brandt but they're both decent options too.

4.) 10 Jun 2019 22:29:00
Maybe I'm being overly optimistic after his injury, but I still have very high hopes for the Ox. His goal against City is etched in my brain and he was developing a really good relationship with Salah.

5.) 10 Jun 2019 23:12:52
I agee eamonsf. he is like a new signing.

6.) 10 Jun 2019 23:52:36
Could well be Keita or OX.

KDB is also pretty special.

02 Jun 2019 21:41:09
Do any of the Ed's know why any of the so called big six haven't gone after Acosta from Dc united. Closest player I've seen to Hazard.

Acered

{Ed002's Note - This is the Liverpool page, but as a special treat, Luciano Acosta (AM) has been watched by PSG, Manchester United, Genoa, Lyon and Newcastle but Fenerbahce have made an enquiry. A WP would be difficult for England and DC United will look to renew his contract.}

1.) 03 Jun 2019 10:51:56
Haven't really seen him play properly but heard decent player. MLS is a hard gauge though to know really if a player can go straight into a top European side. Almiron looks a real talented player to me, I thought moving to Newcastle was sensible, play every week, improve yourself in a much faster aggressive league and earn your big move then. Is acosta similar in regards ability wise to how almiron looked in mls?

2.) 03 Jun 2019 10:44:43
I do love an 02 treat!

02 Jun 2019 08:00:25
Really chuffed to see Hendo lift the trophy
. A framed photo of Hendo lifting OLD BIG EARS is on its way for you to take pride and place above your mantle Eds25.

Acered

{Ed025's Note - i would sooner have a tape of the game ace...for when i cant get to sleep mate..

1.) 02 Jun 2019 08:42:24
Oh crate of Boddingtons too 😀😀.

{Ed025's Note - you know im not bitter ace..but a quality reposte mate..

2.) 02 Jun 2019 09:29:43
Yeah, not that any of us are bothered but it wasn’t a particularly great game of football was it ed.

{Ed025's Note - understatement of the year that hopeful, but when your up to your eyes in san miguel and lovely women are jiggling their bits all over the shop....who cares.. :)

3.) 02 Jun 2019 09:48:18
Ed25, you can always watch your arch-nemesis Divock Origi's brilliant winning goal if you are are having difficulties sleeping. Don't hold your breathe, tho as doing that will only bring pain and enormous mental and physical suffering. BOOM!

{Ed025's Note - i felt no pain last night redwolf i can assure you mate..

4.) 02 Jun 2019 09:58:36
When did streakers start wearing clothes? Bloody millenials.

5.) 02 Jun 2019 10:04:23
Hope they didn't charge too much Ed!

{Ed025's Note - i never pay mate...they are glad to do it for me.. :)

6.) 02 Jun 2019 10:49:04
It must kill the toffees seeing us back on our perch again an I'm sure fergie must of downed a bottle of his favourite last night.

{Ed025's Note - im a toffee K4 and its not killing me mate, now if you win the big one, the holy grail, the big cheese (premiership title) that may change, until then keep polishing them micky mouse trophy,s my friend.. :)

7.) 02 Jun 2019 12:42:30
And we will send you a tape of the 2nd Barcelona game for those mornings when strong coffee just isn't enough ed025.

You must be glad the trophy is coming up north and not to london?

{Ed025's Note - i am actually robbie..

8.) 02 Jun 2019 13:24:18
Nice on ed025. Like you mate.

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate..

30 May 2019 08:52:09
Morning Eds2 well done to your boys on picking up another trophy. Hazard will be missed by the premier league if he does depart, what a player just wish Liverpool would have signed him.

Acered

{Ed002's Note - Hazard has done well and it is time for him to move on.}

1.) 30 May 2019 10:35:45
I felt they should have let him go last summer, but its good that he leaves lifting a decent trophy.

He as a player strikes fear into every defence and every fan that face him.

2.) 30 May 2019 10:36:25
Yes congratulations to Chelsea, it’s not the page for them but have to take my hat off to them, through there continuous managerial issues they still put trophies in the cabinet, well done.

3.) 30 May 2019 13:21:53
Be interesting to see who they buy to replace Hazard if he does leave - arguably their best player and a big loss. I see Coutinho linked today, not sure he'll be able to fill Hazards boots, certainly in terms of goals. Big summer for them.

4.) 30 May 2019 13:37:24
They do have Pulisic coming in. I think he'll do really well in the Premiership, he's a great signing for Chelsea.

I'm not sure you can really replace Hazard; he's possibly been the best player in the league over the past few years.

It'll be interesting to see if Sarri leaves and who is brought in to replace him.

5.) 30 May 2019 15:14:44
Madness to replace a proven manager so soon if they go down that route, no stability.

6.) 30 May 2019 15:32:05
Congrats to Chelsea for the EL win. They were the better team and deserved it. Hazard did not even have to play his best game to be effective which just tells you how much of a shambles Arsenal are esp. at the back. I mean, the gaps they were leaving at times were just insane. No wonder, they get pummeled majority of the time.

As for Hazard, he has done very well for Chelsea as a whole and like Ed02 said, it's time for him to go. Thay don't have to replace him like for like even tho, he is always the X factor in big games. They can just change the way they play as a unit, just like Klopp did when Coutinho left. I also agree that Pulisic will be a very good player for them as even I wanted him at LFC. he is the real deal, IMO.

7.) 03 Jun 2019 00:30:48
I think coutinio could be better for chelsea than Hazard. Couts is way more suited to our end to end football. Our speed of counter attack. He saw Barcelona as the bright lights, but his dream turned to s##t, he found a dressing room of egos, in a team that spends as much time posing for pics and making adverts than they do playing football. Should have never left, should have never even thought about it. Should have done what Mane did "its nice to have big teams interested but my focus is at liverpool. Most won't agree but i reckon we would have won the league this year if he didn't leave.
Remember the draws, the parked busses. that's when the little magician could come in handy. And he worked hard in midfield. The only thing our team lacks is a world class midfielder. We have a wc gk, wc cb, wc forwards. We have a brilliant midfield, industrious, technically sound they never give up. With the exception of hendo, possibly, we have no one who is famed for their creative passing. Shaq maybe. Maybe if we had had the ox we would have won it.

08 May 2019 09:14:55
Well Luis sewage was right when he said he would not celebrate at Anfield. Think Barcelona would have done better if they played couts.

Acered

1.) 08 May 2019 09:28:35
Cout who? nio.

2.) 08 May 2019 09:31:45
It puts to bed any resounding goodwill any fans should have for the player at this point imo. His behavior was typical of who he is. I’ve no issue with his celebrations and there’s nothing wrong with passion but ugh, the diving, the calling for cards, the nasty kick out at Robertson. Just a reminder of what he was like at the club.

3.) 08 May 2019 09:58:07
A lot of us had those red tinted lenses when he played for us but the guy is a disgrace. I don’t want him anywhere near our club even if he was a free transfer and on the lowest wages!

4.) 08 May 2019 10:14:05
I agree but let’s not rewrite history entirely. He pulled all the same tricks when he was playing for us and was loved for it by many (most? ) Liverpool fans, including me. It all looks so different when he is viewed as an opposition player, rather than one of our own.

5.) 08 May 2019 10:27:15
Wirral, he was an excellent footballer for us, and still is a good one, but he is a disgusting human being, even when he played for us, he caused the club many embarrassment.

6.) 08 May 2019 10:37:00
Suarez is a fantastic player but he has the moral compass of an alley cat. Always has. And to think we used to defend him at his worst. Shows love is blind.

{Ed0333's Note - not sure Suarez still is a fantastic player, I think he was one. He’s very ‘costa-esque’ if he’s on you’re team you advocate for him till you bleed and if he’s an opposition player he’s the pantomime villain.

7.) 08 May 2019 10:46:26
Spot on, WW. Suarez did the exact dirty tricks while he was here with us and I am one of those who defended him. I will say, I did not defend him on the biting incident as that was just reprehensible and creepy. Had we won the PL that 13/ 14 season, all would have been forgiven and swept away. IMO, Suarez was a phenomenal footballer with us. That does not remove from the fact that he was a complete disgrace and a stain on this club.

He got Sir Kenny sacked as he lied to KK about the whole Evra situation. He told Sir K that he would shake Evra's hand and he did not. Suarez only cares about himself and has ONLY cared about himself and dragged Sir K's and LFC's name thru the mud just to get a move to Arsenal of all people and that was there for all to see last night. I hope I never see this true piece of work (along with his petulant, treacherous sidekick Coutinho) at Anfield again.

{Ed0333's Note - Fowler called him out last night and said he doesn’t know why the Liverpool fans idolize him so much because he tried engineering a move away from the club. Fowler went on to say and I’m paraphrasing now that Owen has done more for Liverpool than most fans know and doesn’t get the supporters adulation. Playing for man united probably doesn’t help Owens cause Robbie lol.

8.) 08 May 2019 11:28:36
I supported suarez when he was eating defenders, but truth be told, if he had been a utd player i wouldve been calling for him to be banned. Did you see the way he slunk off last night.

Anyway, barca? Barcelona who (good move pipco by the way, bet your so pleased ypu pushed so hard to leave. Since you left we have made 2 cl finals)

Words can't express what happened last night, well, they probably could but im still all over the place. I don't live in liverpool but i wouldn't be surprised if anfield heard me when divok scored his second. i've lost my voice.

Fair play to the utd fans giving their respect. I cheered all those years ago when ole scored against munich tbh.

9.) 08 May 2019 11:21:34
Ed, I guess Fowler should have just quit while he was ahead, lol.

{Ed0333's Note - yes but it was an interesting because allegedly Owen preferred to play with Heskey over Fowler and made that known to Houllier effectively ending Fowler’s time at the club but judging by robbies comments he bears no malice. I would throw the poisoned dwarf head first off the gantry.

10.) 08 May 2019 12:57:09
just shows how classy Fowler is.

11.) 08 May 2019 15:01:33
Do the fans idolize Luis though, Ed? All i could hear on the TV last night was 60,000 people chanting ‘Fck off Luis Suarez’.

{Ed0333's Note - Yes I think he was revered by the majority of the Liverpool fans until the game at camp nou last week, not only for his genius but his street fighter never say die attitude. There is no doubt in my mind he had hero status amongst the fans had it not been for his raucous celebration, which I don’t hold against him I hasten to add.

Must be the first time in many a year that I can remember that any player we lose would not be a problem. I say that for two reasons.1 if any of our so called A list players were to leave we would command a colossal transfer fee which I’m sure Klopp would spend wisely. And secondly we have Klopp. Any manager who can keep up with Man City’s squad re their wealth is nothing short of brilliant. Now losing Klopp I think that would be a problem.

Where is lookman off to think he could be a really top player with the right coaching.

Acered

{Ed025's Note - there are a few after his services ace, i really like the guy and see him as very talented, but none of the managers at everton have ever given him a sustained run in the side so maybe there are flaws in his personality or something, he has a lot to offer i think mate but im not privvy to what goes on within the club or in training..
