Hey Ed's, itks and fellow reds anyone got much info on angelo stiller. He seems like he's got a bit about him.

 2

14 Jan 2026 10:07:07
Really good deep lying playmaker him. Superb passer of a ball.

 4

14 Jan 2026 10:48:35
Definitely something about him alright, there's also something about Mary.

 6

14 Jan 2026 13:06:45
I just keep thinking of The Fockers each time I see his name.

 1

14 Jan 2026 13:17:17
I wonder whether they have him on the list but want to see what happens with Adam Wharton first. One thing for sure, Xabi Alonso really likes Angelo Stiller and wanted to take him to Real Madrid to replace Kroos' passing range.

13 Jan 2026 19:49:20
Ed001 Sorry to bang the same drum Mate but do you expect us to sign a senior CB for the first team this month?

 1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - unfortunately, no. Though there is always the chance Palace sign a Guehi replacement, so that can be done.}

 4

13 Jan 2026 21:48:02
Every time Semenyo scores it's going to annoy me given we struggle to score and not having Guehi has annoyed me since we are short on defenders. Premier league champions and it's gone pear shaped very very quickly.

 20

13 Jan 2026 23:56:20
For now WarMachine, for now. Have patience we will come good.

 11

14 Jan 2026 00:18:14
I was just thinking the same about Semenyo WM.

 4

14 Jan 2026 08:42:25
It feels like bullseye with semenyo, see what you could've signed.

 4

14 Jan 2026 08:51:54
Agreed WM and Bazza. We missed a good 'un there and he'll be a big success at City IMO.

 3

14 Jan 2026 09:12:59
We were never really in for him though lads were we? its not as if had a choice, contracts on the table from us and City and he chose them. And if we showed no interest being bitter about him starting well at City is just like throwing a random name out to the eds, asking if were signing some bloke.

there's no point. We obviously have targets and he mustn't have been one by the looks of it.

 2

14 Jan 2026 10:13:39
What you need to remember is that Semenyo has gone into a team playing fluid attacking football. Had we signed him there is no guarantee that he would scored goals for us. He may have joined, failed to score in 10 games (as was the case recently when he was at Bournemouth) and everybody would have been talking about him being a waste of money.

Good luck to him. We obviously have other plans.

 0

14 Jan 2026 11:15:09
Florian, the ITK's said were were definitely in for him; and it was a no brainer given we lost Diaz, Salah is on a slope, we don't have enough goal scorers and Slot said in a press conference he wants to play attacking football with wingers. And the guy is proven in the premier league and the price was amazing.

 2

14 Jan 2026 13:59:59
shanklys ghost - We didn't really miss out, he waned City, so long as they were in for him, we never had a chance, it's not like we could have coaxed him, you wouldn't want him if he needed coaxing anyway. We pulled out because we were told City was his preferred destination. WarMachine73 - If we were definitely in for him, as the ITK's claimed, we would have tabled a bid. Apparently we haven't even make contact since November, that tells you all you need to know really. ITK's have been wrong on countless moccasins over the years, no disrespect, I fully appreciate the effort, but football changes hard and fast.

Semenyo could have shown serious interest back in November, only for City to come in and turn his head. Or his agent could have been playing the old game, rumours of him being keen to join LFC puts pressure on City to offer a larger pay packet. He was a no-brainer, I agree, but either way, players don't move to their 2nd choice club. For me the issue is the fact that we wait too long for stat men to do their thing, we should have had Semenyo signed up last season and Olise 2 years ago. Could have brought in both players for the cost of Isak. Now we have neither. We wait far too long to make moves.

 0

14 Jan 2026 15:22:20
ITK's and know journalists also said if LFC showed an interest tbey would get their man so we must not have shown interest.

Hello all, By popular demand, I wanted to give you a update. I chose a frozen Margarita. I had seven of them. Ta.

 32

13 Jan 2026 17:36:54
You lucky guy.

 2

13 Jan 2026 18:14:19
Hope they used quality tequila.

 2

13 Jan 2026 18:30:23
One for each shot on target we've had this season? Nice one Carra ;)

 7

13 Jan 2026 19:16:11
Are you sure it wasn't 6 / 7 Margaritas? 🤷‍♂️.

 3

13 Jan 2026 19:47:27
LEG-END.

 1

13 Jan 2026 19:49:33
Seven frozen pizzas? I can only eat two, at the most.

 6

13 Jan 2026 20:28:59
I'm surprised you can type after that - was there alcohol in them at all? 🤣 Just jealous - enjoy mate.

 0

14 Jan 2026 07:02:00
Margarita? Can he play CB carra?

 2

13 Jan 2026 15:42:24
Anyone else notice Dominic Szoboszlai looking a bit sheepish last night in the game? When he scored he didn't really celebrate, and then I could see macallister kind of having a go at him. Yes when Barsnley equalised he looked nearly in tears.

Am I reading too much into this or has something happened? As he seems to be the most consistent performer and don't want him to feel pushed out of the club.

 6

13 Jan 2026 15:56:50
I think you are reading too much into it. He looked happy enough when Frimpong scored. He was gutted when he gifted them the goal to make it 2-1 and it knocked his confidence but I wouldn't worry about it and by all accounts he will be signing a new contract in the near future.

 10

13 Jan 2026 16:09:55
I felt it was more of a complacency which got the best of him.

 2

13 Jan 2026 16:17:15
I noticed this, well the Macallister interaction anyway. I just watched it again Dom kind of snaps back, doubt there's much in it though other than holding a team mate accountable for something earlier in the game.

 0

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - i dont think Dom did snap back at him LC, otherwise McAllister would have been rolling around the pitch holding his chest mate.. :)

 27

13 Jan 2026 16:24:18
Pushed out? He plays every minute and has a contract on the way. He knows he has vice captain in the pocket and captinacy if or when VVD steps back. I thought he was sheepish and safe after his silly back heel. Most would.

 2

13 Jan 2026 16:39:07
Spotted that also, it was almost like Alexis was tell him off or complaining but I can't see what about. Unless they are so drilled and conditioned under Slot that Dom should have passed and not tried a rocket for 25 yrds (All glad he did) but could be something, probably nothing.

 2

13 Jan 2026 16:40:09
I think he was just playing it cool because it was a worldi of a goal.

 5

13 Jan 2026 17:15:41
I noticed that too. I put it down to a delayed reaction to scoring, as the fans started cheering about 10 seconds after the ball went in as well. Maybe everyone was bored to death because of the slow and dull football being played that they were all asleep.

 1

13 Jan 2026 17:27:53
The forum should put together a calendar and market it with funds received going into the upkeep of the forum. We could each submit a new worry everyday. It would be incredibly popular and it won't matter if the worry is actually real or not.

 3

13 Jan 2026 17:34:03
Ed25 😂.

 1

13 Jan 2026 18:00:32
Aye Macca was not happy because Dom shot instead of passing to him.

 4

13 Jan 2026 18:07:26
Just before he scored he was having an arguement with vvd.

 0

13 Jan 2026 19:04:57
He looked the same in the tunnel before the game as well, stood well back from the rest of the team.

 1

13 Jan 2026 18:30:13
Love that bants edd25 excelled there lad 🤣🤣.

 1

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - cheers Chrisy..

 0

13 Jan 2026 19:56:03
It never rains but it pours 🙄. He's probably been tapped up by Real Madrid and he'll run down his contract and leave on a free now. What a clown show of a club, we are.

 2

13 Jan 2026 23:44:43
The Everton side is full of real men, though, eh, Ed025? Three red cards this season: One for fighting with his mate. One for pulling hair. And one for clapping. 😂.

 2

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - fights between players happen Rigsby...a sign of passion maybe? the hair pull...the big tart shouldn,t have had a pony tail in the first place maybe? The happy clapper, showing appreciation for an official should be applauded maybe?....you did ask mate.. :)

 2

14 Jan 2026 14:12:17
What a load of nonsense. They were playing a side fighting relegation 2 divisions below them. They're simply not bothered. Macca was clearly pissed because Dom swindled him out of a few shiny Match Attax with his shrewd negotiating skills.

13 Jan 2026 13:39:27
Klopp in the running for the Real Madrid gig?
Can't see that happening but who knows?

 2

13 Jan 2026 14:10:59
I wouldn't think its the kind of gig that attracts him, and if the "Galacticos" didn't like the work ethic Xabi was trying to install, and are not keen to press, they won't like Klopp, but it is Real you never know, I hope not.

 6

13 Jan 2026 14:32:44
RD, I've more chance of getting the RM job! 🤣🤣.

 5

13 Jan 2026 14:36:54
Id be very surprised if that happened. I don't see Klopp managing again.

 5

13 Jan 2026 14:54:47
Don't think Klopp would want to risk his health losing his temper at the likes of Vini and Mbappe after seeing what happened to Xabi at the club.

 4

13 Jan 2026 15:27:16
I see Klopp waiting until after the World Cup and then getting the Germany job, I think he's always wanted that.

 14

13 Jan 2026 15:36:21
Salah, I see him taking an international management role at some point, likely the Germany job in a few years. A lot less stress than club management.

 7

13 Jan 2026 15:36:53
100% salah, unless its the German NT.

 3

13 Jan 2026 15:40:31
Perez, Vini, Jude. I don't think Klopp could stomach them. Klopp wants Bobby Milly Hendo lol.

 4

13 Jan 2026 18:33:10
If Klopp took RM job I would show my arse in Lewis's Window.

 4

13 Jan 2026 19:16:50
Spoken like a true scouser.

 2

13 Jan 2026 21:45:32
OP where did you see Klopp saying he's in the running for the RM job?

 0

13 Jan 2026 23:32:04
couldn't give a hoot who klopp manages. He will always be a legend but what he chooses to do now is none of our concern. well, as long as he doesn't manage any team that are ever likely to play against us in any competition. like ever!

 1

14 Jan 2026 10:23:08
I'll take the town hall steps then Chrisy!

 0

14 Jan 2026 10:57:39
I didn't say Klopp said he was in the running, it was reported on SPN.

 0

14 Jan 2026 14:13:29
Agreed, he has a seriously cushy number at red bull.

 0

12 Jan 2026 23:40:51
Hello all,

Left the missus at the bar, hope all is well.

It's now very unlikely we will get Xabi untill the summer.

A joint decision at the minute as the club would love a full pre season to whoever potentially joins. Also feels Xabi needs time too.

Enrique's situation has thrown a spanner in the works. That would be a very hard one to do but again not impossible.

At the moment it's the correct decision to keep the management the same. Had a long chat today and it's made things a bit clearer.

Would be very shocked again if we jumped ship now, summer and pre season is vital.

I know I said we would pull the trigger, we still could but a deal is a two way thing.

On more pressing terms, what shall I order for a drink? Rum Punches are beautiful.

Ta.

 31

13 Jan 2026 00:11:51
Makes sense to wait and review the season and assess options. Slot must get us top 5 and UCL. Alonso, Enrique would be ideal. Iraola would be out of contract with prem experience and I do like Hoeness from Stuttgart.

 4

13 Jan 2026 00:19:55
Tequila sunrise, chin-chin.

 5

13 Jan 2026 00:20:07
Cheers carry.

 0

13 Jan 2026 00:26:33
Get yourself a neat Balvenie 12, Carra! thank me later.

Thanks for the info mate.

 7

13 Jan 2026 00:43:13
Lilikoi Mai Tai.

 1

13 Jan 2026 01:35:53
Mojitos all day for me Carra.
Alonso will be more likely than Enrique but I honestly wish it was the opposite.
My worry is you have said Slot knows the situation and that would certainly demotivate most people, I see it happening with him too.

 3

13 Jan 2026 01:51:10
Cuba Libra.

 2

13 Jan 2026 04:34:18
There is no finer rum cocktail than the Painkiller.

 1

13 Jan 2026 06:39:42
Long Island ice tea guaranteed to finish your night.

 3

13 Jan 2026 07:09:52
Old fashioned for me please.

 6

13 Jan 2026 07:14:20
I'd get a Slot on the Rocks… hopefully with him leaving soon regardless of who comes in.

 3

13 Jan 2026 07:39:10
Cheers Carra, enjoy your hols.

 1

13 Jan 2026 07:40:49
Cheers Carra, knew you'd be on the cocktails! 😂

Think that sounds the best scenario, I can't see how they change midseason whilst we're "getting through" games.

I do feel there's been some improvement in some of the players and not having a proper No 9 has certainly shown in the last couple of games and we've done the best we can with what we have available. Lovely to see Ekitike and Wirtz complement eachother last night.

 3

13 Jan 2026 07:55:17
Cheers Carra! French75 all day 🥂.

 3

13 Jan 2026 08:14:06
Ta, Carra.
What do you mean by 'a joint decision at the minute', please?
Who made the decision and what is it? To replace Slot in the summer, regardless of the rest of the season, and with Alonso or Enrique?
Have they given any indication that they would be willing to take over?
Sorry for all the questions but don't be talking about jumping ship when cruising.

 1

13 Jan 2026 08:42:58
So the question is…

What did you choose to drink Carra?

 0

13 Jan 2026 09:13:52
Carra thanks as always for your info but I hope sometime changes quickly because with this squad if we can change our manager quickly and get some fitness into the players and some more aggression into our play we would still have a great chance to win the champions league.

I think if we keep Slot there is a better chance we don't finish top 8 in the champions league group and lose the play off and go out rather than winning it.

 0

13 Jan 2026 09:17:48
Thanks for the info Carra and enjoy the break. Agree with Stuie. Old-Fashioned all the way.

 0

13 Jan 2026 09:19:53
Thanks for the update Carra,
Baileys and cherryade is the way to go! Enjoy!

 4

13 Jan 2026 10:41:24
When on a sun holiday I quite enjoy a Caipirinha. Try one if you haven't before!

Thanks for the update Carra. I just get the impression the players are not enjoying the football at the moment so we need to change. Szoboszlai hardly celebrated a worldie last night and the nonsense for their goal is symptomatic of a team that's not focussed.

Maybe Slot can turn it around but it doesn't look like a united dressing room. I could be over reading things though. Just don't want us to turn into RM where the coach has lost the players.

 0

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - i disagree Jon it does look like a united dressing room to me mate...a Manchester one.. :)

 8

13 Jan 2026 10:41:30
I said this the other week after Carra had said we were looking at replacements for Slot and would happen before the end of season if the right candidate became available and was torn apart.

Carra is right, nothing will happen before summer and as the owners see it, they have no issue with Slot, therefore not considering his replacement, be it Alonso or Enrique.

Hopefully we can all just watch and enjoy the football now, without the weekly calls for Slot to leave.

 4

13 Jan 2026 10:49:56
Cheers, Carra.

Coach/ Manager situation aside, we really need to bring in CB cover this month.

Ornstein suggesting nothing will happen now. If this turns out to be true then we are clearly writing off the possibility of winning something despite the CL being wide open this year without a standout team.

 2

13 Jan 2026 11:15:24
I have been reading that Alonso is in current discussions with Spurs, so all the above may just be spurious info. I don't know for sure obviously, but like Utd, Spurs seem to be taking action to try to improve their situation.

I reall y don't think we are in the ball game here.

 0

13 Jan 2026 11:03:37
Carra, from your knowledge would Xabi want the job this time. It's obviously common knowledge it was turned down last time round has he given any inkling that we would be the preferred option this time over City, United and whoever else possibly come knocking this time.

 4

13 Jan 2026 11:05:26
Mojito with white Havana Club is my personal favourite.

As for single malts, love Salah's recommendation but prefer an Ardbeg myself.

 3

13 Jan 2026 11:50:40
I don't know if Alonso got so far as turning us down last time.
I did read though that Hughes had heard he was staying at BL for another season so moved on to other targets.

I wasn't surprised that Alonso moved to Madrid the season after but I don't know if that was always his plan.
We need to consider whether Alonso would want to join us anyway.

 4

13 Jan 2026 12:02:48
Ty for inside info Carra. World Cup is coming up this summer, so I guess a proper preseason is off the charts. It might be an idea to get a new gaffer (pref. Xabi) in charge a couple of months before end of season, he'd get to know the players and set a stamp on the team before next season.

 3

13 Jan 2026 13:29:25
Love The rum punch,

 1

13 Jan 2026 16:55:01
More flip flops than a Gandhi world tour, thought Slot was a goner last year and was told he was cooked but agreed to stay on anyway and prove himself?

 1

12 Jan 2026 21:44:49
Hi all,

Xabi Alonso will remain without a job until the summer. Then, he will assess his options. Manchester City are interested.

Szoboszlai should sign an extension this month.

Liverpool are discussing a possible deal for Yan Diomande, however it is difficult due to the obscene asking price Leipzig are asking. There has been talk of Harvey Elliott being included in a possible deal.

Arsenal are pushing hard with Marc Guehi's camp for a move. I expect a four-horse race for his signing.

 10

12 Jan 2026 22:24:05
Hi mate just on a good few of these. Alonso will not get a job till the summer you're correct. However Manchester City are either Keeping Pep or getting Maresca. They have had many discussions with him since his departure at Chelsea and pep has recommended him to the city board. Harvey Elliot could most definitely be involved in a separate deal to Yan Diomande with Liverpool not really interested in doing a swap deal.

From what I hear Marc Guehi wants either city or Liverpool. Arsenal simply have too many defenders.

 2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - City were speaking to Maresca months ago, long before he left Chelsea.}

 7

12 Jan 2026 23:03:19
Seems mad, Maresca didn't set the world on fire at chelsea. I would have assumed Enrique would succeed Pep but just a pure guess that one.

 4

13 Jan 2026 07:31:27
Ed001 I thought Maresca did a good job at Chelsea they are not like the old Chelsea all about winning for me all there managers are going to struggle under this situation.
How did you think he did Ed?

 0

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - he is terrible. He can't organise a defence, has no discipline and plays mind numbingly boring football, far worse than we are playing. They spent 2bn and you think he did a good job to come nowhere near challenging for the title? I can't understand that view.}

 4

13 Jan 2026 07:50:32
Good piece on Xabi by Guillem Ballague this morning. It's a perspective on his time with RM. It doesn't shed much light on his credentials or not to coach at the top level, but does give an angle on why he failed at RM, and wasn't really ever wanted there.

It reinforces why this era of the coach with little influence is a difficult one, as Arne's is finding out.

 2

13 Jan 2026 08:55:41
The club backing the players and not the coach they hired to lead them was always going to end badly for xabi.

 5

13 Jan 2026 11:32:16
ED25, do you have any ITK's on the Everton page?
Maybe you could borrow one of our many for some info, as i'm sure they would/ may have multi club info?

 1

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - we do have a couple who supply information from time to time RD but like all sites its difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff mate, some come off and some dont but sometimes you can just tell over a period of time who you can trust..like Carra on here..

 2

13 Jan 2026 13:50:00
RD, I get info about most clubs in the league. I don't post that because I'm only a fan of LFC 😂.

 1

13 Jan 2026 16:46:53
that's fair enough fields and 25.

 1

12 Jan 2026 20:32:43
Hello all,
Right I have to start by saying I'm not in the know or linked with Liverpool at all (apart from being a die hard fan) and after speaking to colleagues I've been given the green light to say this.
I was lucky enough to have a conversation this weekend with Darko Ristic he is linked to a company called International Sports Office (ISO) and is the agent of Dušan Vlahović. While having a conversation I asked if Vlahović was coming to the prem, he replied by saying possibly and also added that he has had conversations with Liverpool regarding Vlahović (not sure what that means).

He also said that if Chiesa joins juventus (which isn't likely) then it's possible a move could be made, with Vlahović coming the other way. Whether this is the agent trying his luck and make something of it but thought it was worth sharing.

 9

12 Jan 2026 20:47:51
Its just rubbish isn't it

I get its a rumours site but that's just full of tripe and jargon.

 17

12 Jan 2026 21:21:38
Is it tough, lfc1312? How do you know whether it is or not?. You are on the 'Rumours' section of the site. I'd suggest you treat Nellys post as just that. You've got a lot of learning to learn.

 22

12 Jan 2026 21:34:27
Show neily some respect lfc1312

It's a rumours site and he's taken the time out to post a rumour.

 17

12 Jan 2026 21:44:47
Always appreciate a rumour but having Isak Hugo and Vlahovic makes zero sense. Vlahovic would be coming to be THIRD choice.

 8

12 Jan 2026 21:58:51
Cheers for passing it on Neily D.

 5

12 Jan 2026 22:04:26
funky061 - Isaks out till next season and Hugo is a 70 minute man, bringing in another striker makes perfect sense, especially if Chiesa is on his way out. I'm not commenting on this particular rumour but we definitely could do with another striker at the moment. I;d rather we got a RB and a CB first.

 5

12 Jan 2026 22:38:02
Chewy that's great for the next 3 months but if we sign him what about the next 5 years? If Isak and Hugo are both fit he never gets a game.

 4

12 Jan 2026 23:04:33
Cheers for sharing Neilly!

 4

13 Jan 2026 03:52:51
Thanks for sharing Nelly.
Nice to see rumours on here, shame some don't realise that's exactly what this is about.

 3

13 Jan 2026 11:25:42
Vlahovic is technically a very limited player, plus the fact that his movement is not great and his linkup play with his team mates is even worse. He's a shadow of the player that he looked like in Fiorentina, I'm pretty sure Juve fans want to get rid of him as soon as possible.

 2

13 Jan 2026 12:27:22
Rumours are one thing claiming to have had conversations with a players agent is another

As I stated I know its a rumours site but it appears more and more are connected somehow.

I think it also disrespectful to the likes of Carra and the fields who seem to pass on genuine knowledge

That's just me though.

No plans to sign Alonso this winter, this will probably change in the summer, Liverpool will be looking to replace both manager and sporting director in the summer, but i am aware that talks with Alonso have been ongoing, and he was obviously the main target before Arne.

Slot was blessed that there were no suitable alternatives when we went though our run of losses but the pressure is about to crank up big time on him now that Alonso is available! Let's see does this give Slot a fire under him to get this team performing and playing decent football because it's been p.

poor all season and it can't continue one way or another.

This winter. mmmm so when is spring start?.

I think the other factor that's in play here is then negotiation between RM and Alonso of settling his termination of contract, due to this factor summer is the most realistic timeframe, may even be a clause in the termination.

12 Jan 2026 19:40:18
Thanks Robbo but god I hope your wrong. It would be nice to get Alonso in even if we don't win anything and just finish in the top 4 with him and just got to see a better style of football for the last part of the season because this has been a very hard watch for the last 11 months.

 8

12 Jan 2026 21:07:12
I doubt we'll sack Arne if we get top 4, although he'd only have 12 months left on his contract in the summer so it's decision time then anyway.

Cheers Robbo, thanks for the info.

Good call @Dow-ney, 11 unbeaten and counting. I suspect, given the history of football, we will at some point lose a game. At that point, Slot should be dragged out of the club, horsewhipped on the steps of St George's Hall and sent packing back to Holland.

For those asking, don't expect us to suddenly change manager. Nothing has changed, Slot will be here until the end of the season unless something mad happens.

 17

12 Jan 2026 18:58:25
Slot to Real Madrid.

 14

12 Jan 2026 19:00:46
Barnsley banana-skin first.

12 Jan 2026 19:16:56
No Fields

Come on. something mad has happened. for the last 11 months!

I want your update to be along the lines of Slot out. Xabi in. so he gets a couple of months looking at the squad.

Only messing.

It's going to be mad on here. literally after every game.

12 Jan 2026 20:47:25
Slot out and Xabi in, errr been reading Mills and Boon Mighty? 😂.

 2

12 Jan 2026 21:11:01
Mills and boon.

That's going back some. strangely mum and sister were fond readers of that stuff.

 1

12 Jan 2026 22:23:07
Mills and Boon! They played upfront for Mansfield Town in the 80's. Great partnership they had. Top lads.

12 Jan 2026 17:28:23
Crickey. Xabi Alonso has left Real Madrid.

Do you think this will have heads turning on our board?

 9

12 Jan 2026 17:44:17
It must do. he was the number one target. He can unlock the wirtz and frimpong partnership.

 9

12 Jan 2026 17:36:58
Hope he isn't off to Man United 🙁.

 7

12 Jan 2026 17:39:54
Surely a little chat about his future plans at the very least.

 3

12 Jan 2026 17:40:23
Can you imagine if we don't go for Alonso and he takes the Man Utd role, then we don't try to sign Guehi who ends up Arsenal or Man City, and no defender is signed!

Let's hope none of the above happens and LFC make some sensible moves.

 2

12 Jan 2026 17:45:24
Good question. He was are number choice before we appointed Slot. If he does want to the job maybe more likely at the end of the season than mid season?

 1

12 Jan 2026 17:52:53
Alonso won't manage Manchester United. If he does he's basically closing the door to ever managing Liverpool.

 8

12 Jan 2026 17:52:55
Here we go!

 3

12 Jan 2026 17:56:48
Well the no1 target is now available let's ser.

 3

12 Jan 2026 17:59:22
Interesting to see former red, Alvaro Arbeloa taking over at Real.

 4

12 Jan 2026 17:59:55
Id happily wait until summer for him. Now he got Madrid out of his system i think in his mind and heart we could be his one and only long term. I think a few months of a reset would benefit him. Our only compeitition would be city but i think we are safe with his connection to the club.

Plus Pep won't go out with an L to his apprentice. He will want to win the lot and go on his terms.
On the otherhand, you get him in now and you can run potential January transfer by him (which i think we need) he gets a few bonus months with the players before next season. Interesting.

12 Jan 2026 18:01:48
24 wins from 34 games at Real is pretty bad.

 5

12 Jan 2026 18:07:02
Cant see him moving till the summer myself. give him a bit of time to analyse us,

 1

12 Jan 2026 18:08:28
I imagine he'd have a preference for Liverpool or Bayern Munich. I'd personally give him the rest of the season to bed in and then at least he'd be able to hit the ground running for next season especially given with the World Cup the preseason will be short.

 3

12 Jan 2026 18:10:43
Forgive me for not remembering the answer to this and not having the energy to RTFP when there will be about a thousand relevant ones.

How seriously did the club pursue XA when Klopp announced he was off? Was he first choice, second choice after Slot, thought to need more experience under his belt (which he now has), or what?

 0

12 Jan 2026 18:21:15
I think that could happen Ron.

12 Jan 2026 18:37:49
Take over Liverpool and beat Madrid in the final of the CL.
Would be magical.

I wouldn't expect any movement till summer though although I imagine someone from our recruitment will be meeting him for a few lunch beers in Spain somewhere.

 2

12 Jan 2026 18:43:48
Nobody in their right mind would want to manage United. City, on the other hand….

 2

12 Jan 2026 18:52:26
As much as we we all loved Alonso what about the prospect of having Luis Enrique! He has said he's leaving PSG so maybe?

 2

12 Jan 2026 18:54:53
Hold on here. Whilst I'm a big fan of Xabi the player, he couldn't get a tune out of one of the most, if not the most gifted football squad on the planet. They were tactically a shambles and it seems he was unable to manage the egos there, or get them to play the attacking football demanded by the fans. I've watched RM a few times this season and the players looked completely disorganised at times whilst the crowd roared them on to attack. There forwards, apart from Mbappe were out of sync, their midfield porous and their defence at times a shambles.

Does any of this sound familiar?

 3

12 Jan 2026 19:00:17
He is being linked with United this evening. Even if he doesn't come to us surely he wouldn't go there.

 3

12 Jan 2026 18:13:19
Is Xabi that good a coach? Yes, he did really well in Germany, but some on here refer to it as a pub league. He's struggled a bit at Real, but that can be a poisoned chalice.

Ed01, could you do a review pretty please?

12 Jan 2026 19:31:00
Why not Hugo. They are a shambles, but still one of the biggest clubs in world football. They are also managerless right now.

Also, I think Slot will be here until the end of his contract.

 0

12 Jan 2026 19:18:37
I back Slot but i also love Xabi Alonso. "if"slot was replaced i'd want it to be xabi. What'd happen if Slot wins the Champions League though?

 6

12 Jan 2026 19:11:02
Some of the stories I'm hearing are interesting. The RM players never felt like they had to listen to him and ownership never really backed him against the players.

Sounds a bit familiar from the rumors thrown round.

 2

12 Jan 2026 20:12:41
Ed01, I did mean a profile (long day). Thank you!

12 Jan 2026 22:39:51
@KBL, United have had 8 managers in the last 10 years (9 if you count Fletcher), with Carrick soon to make it 10. It's pointless being a manager at United with the Glazer / Ineos money grabbing sh#t show in full swing.

Hello all,
Not much news from me really, as I've said before I'm not expecting much from this transfer window (bar a few youngsters).
As Cara has said, I've heard similar that we're looking at Givairo Read. Not sure how concrete it is but I've been told he is one to keep an eye on this window. According to some, Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read when asked to pick between Man United and Man City:
"Liverpool, for sure. Nothing else, no one else! So I'm not sure if that's what is driving this rumour but keep an eye on it.

As for Guehi it's increasingly likely that he stays put till the summer. City are trying to push for a deal with injuries to Diaz and Gvardiol but what I'm getting is he's wants to stick to his word. Whether that means he sticks to his word and joins us or not is still yet to be known ( BUT I have been told his preference is Liverpool). As for now tho it is very, very likely he doesn't move this window.
Also want to add, as far as I know Xabi is leaving Madrid.
When I get anymore I shall update again.

 8

12 Jan 2026 17:32:33
Thanks for the update. Guehi has made it clear he won't be moving during this winter window. He be mad to given he can name his price in a few months time when he leaves Palace on a free.

The risk for us is he ends up at Arsenal his boyhood club.

12 Jan 2026 18:14:54
Didn't this guy say that his source thinks that man city and psg have the same owner?

 4

12 Jan 2026 18:16:32
My work means I meet a lot of people in the world of football. Like this weekend, I was in France looking at players possibly moving to the prem, does that mean I'm in the know, no but I do get to talk to a lot of players and agents.

 2

12 Jan 2026 19:51:55
Most of the ITK's 'as Carra said, I've heard the same' we all did boss he posted it here.
