Just to add, most Asian countries don't have a 4th floor in hotels too due to superstitions.

I think the main thing for Baj now is to just get some minutes under his belt, regardless of the level. Salzburg would be a decent choice since there'll be less pressure on him and he can focus more on getting fit especially as he's been out for over a year. There have been some questions raised over his professionalism though so hopefully this loan spell would do him good in that regard as well.

Looking at it, VDB is on his way out as well since he wasn't in the squad yesterday too. If they both go, getting in a CB, preferably an LCB, becomes paramount. We can't go into the season with only three senior CBs, especially when one of them is known to be injury-prone.

I'm not sure about the over inflated ego part but I agree with VV about him bring over paid and over rated. I don't think he is what we need currently.

A simple look at the accounts would tell you that, Teddy. Don't need to be someone who is a financial genius. We had, I believe the second highest wage bill in the league at that time and was paying the most when it comes to agent fees when Edwards was with us. I'm not sure about you but for me, that indicates that paying a lot of wages means that our expenses were high. And if expenses are high in one area of a business, it would impact other areas of that same business as well. A lot of our expenses were tied up in wages that could have been freed up with the sale of those players.
Btw, I am not regurgitating other peoples' opinions. These are my own that are formed with whatever information that I have access to.

I'm from Singapore and the usual kick-off timing of 3pm is aired at 10pm here, so it's hardly bed time for us. Maybe Australia since it would be around midnight for them but not that difficult to stay up for, unlike CL games which are in the wee mornings.
Besides, fans would catch games regardless of what time it is if they really want to and interest in the club won't be lost just because of the kick-off timings not matching to our schedules here.

@Ron, there are also indications that the authorities are in on it. I suggest reading about the Fuentes case because it really is interesting and extremely shady.
During the trial, he offered to reveal all the names of the athletes who he doped but the Spanish court, where his trial was heard, declined his offer stating that he was under no obligation to reveal those names. They subsequently sentenced him to one year in prison (suspended) and barred him from being involved in sports for 4 years, a verdict that was formally overturned 3 years later. The blood samples that was taken from him were initially ordered to be destroyed but was subsequently turned over to the World Anti Doping Association for further tests but only after the statute of limitations had already passed.
Like I said, extremely shady by the Spanish courts and absolutely reeks of a cover-up. If I recall, Ed001 did write about this in the Lance Armstrong article as well.

Just on Guardiola and cheating, I think it goes beyond just money since there has been suspicions of doping going on in his teams, especially the miraculous recoveries from injuries weeks before the projected dates. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't there whispers that his Barcelona team (and the Spanish FA at that time) engaged the services of Fuentes to give the players an additional boost? That and his players going to Spain for "treatment" during their injuries is extremely shady.
{Ed001's Note - yes and at Bayern he dismissed the medical staff to bring in his own, all of whom have been implicated by Fuentes. The medical staff he dismissed have also been vocal in claims that they were dismissed because they would not utilise doping, but that could easily have been sour grapes.}

I think that is Ed's point Lowe. His signing makes no sense if it is for a number 2 keeper as we already have Kelleher and Jaros who are good enough to be number 1 elsewhere, let alone number 2. Besides, he is ill-suited to play the way we do, with a keeper who sweeps up danger and sets us on quick counters, so it makes little sense that he is to be Allison's replacement even if Allison is to leave. And Allison has indicated that he has no plans to leave.
All in all, even though he is a good young keeper in his own right, we spent money in an area of the field where we didn't really need to when it could have been better used elsewhere. We're not flush with cash and £30m is not an insignificant amount of money.

I don't think it's Kelleher's fault that he didn't leave in the summer. If I recall correctly, there were a few offers for him but all of them were rejected by the club.
