Thinking of everyone affected by that horrible day 36 years ago. Victims, survivors, their families and the people who have done wonderful work to help and support them ever since.

Always in our thoughts. Never forgotten.

{Ed025's Note - yeah me too Tuzza..

Just when you think you've cracked this game, it will bite you in the arse.
Poor all round.
Really hope we don't limp over the line - or worse.

The limp is guaranteed, but how bad it is will be up for debate.

2.) 06 Apr 2025 16:37:16
We ain't going to limp over the line. This was indeed the game I dreaded the most of the next 5. I thought based on our 2nd half performance, we deserved something from that match but it was not to be. We had a cross bar situation plus Mo and Jota could have done better with their sitters. The guard of honour from Arsenal is still on. Ynwa.

3.) 06 Apr 2025 16:48:40
I was over the moon when Arsenal dropped points because I just knew we’d lose some of that cushion today.
We need to sign some players that Slot will actually use. He clearly doesn’t want to play a chunk of these players so they should be sold in summer.
If they ain’t going to play, whether us fans think they are decent or not, they should be Sold because we need rotation and he’s not using any of them!

4.) 06 Apr 2025 17:16:37
Extremely poor today. From dugout to captain.

5.) 06 Apr 2025 17:17:55
I mean we are quite literally limping Ugbes, and come on we know spurs will be a game and have far more quality than fulham.
Beyond horrendous defending fulham did next to nothing.

6.) 06 Apr 2025 17:34:53
Fulham stayed in the game and took their chances when they were offered to them. Nothing wrong with that, that’s football.

This result again shows what a tough league this is, irrespective of what Ed025 will have you believe. ?.

{Ed025's Note - i have never said its not tough FF, just that the standard is not as high as normal because to be fair Liverpool have walked it without being at their best mate, but thats just my take on things, City have fallen off a cliff, Arsenal are ....well Arsenal, United and Chelsea are a shambles so nobody has put any pressure on the reds really..

7.) 06 Apr 2025 18:22:21
You’re right Ed, this Liverpool side would not have won the league in recent times in my opinion. It’s far from poor though, just not quite to the amazingly high standards set in recent years.

It’s not Liverpool’s fault though, no one gave them a chance at the start of the season. To win when it’s expected is fair enough, to win when no one gives you a chance is a real achievement.

Massive kudos must go the Slott and the players this season to achieve above expectations.

Liverpool definitely need some key additions in the summer to be able to compete again though.

{Ed025's Note - listen Liverpool will totally deserve this title FF. they have been the best team all season but I would have expected a few other teams to have given them a better run for their money mate..

8.) 06 Apr 2025 18:39:29
Yep, I agree.

Those teams have spent hundreds and hundreds of millions and still not been able to compete with Liverpool this season mate.

It’s not Liverpool’s fault that they’ve spent badly, or can’t get the most from their players, that’s part of football.

I think this League will come with more respect than others though, as Liverpool have a new manager after saying goodbye to a legend, and haven’t spent big for years.

It’s all about opinions though.

{Ed025's Note - very much so mate..

9.) 06 Apr 2025 19:09:35
Ed25 but Utd and Chesea have been a shambles over the years so for me, they don't count, same for Spurs. City? Yeah, the same thing that happened to us in 20/ 21 and 22/ 23 happened to them. We were the model not to copy and their hubris got them into they are in so that's on them. Arsenal? Same thing. They did not do the work necessary to take the chance offerred them so again, that's on them.

On the other hand, teams btw 4th and 11th have really stepped up they game in terms of recruitment, styles of play, and the ability to cause the big teams issues. The big teams I mentioned that I were non entities last season wehre lambs for the slaughter for the Brightons, B'mourhs, Villa's, Newcastle's, and even Wolves of this world. We on the other hand, beat up on most of these teams and that is to our credit, IMO.

We are the most consistent team in the league and that has nothing to do with City or Arsenal falling off. It has more to do with us being able to win points vs these improved teams, IMO.

{Ed025's Note - i have never decried what you have done this season Oli, you have been by far the best team and deservedly will enjoy your day in the sun, but you must admit that the inconsistency of the bigger teams has really helped your cause, in recent years it has been a lot tighter mate whereas this season the league has been a foregone conclusion for a long time and thats credit to LFC, but below them its very close because all those teams are much of a muchness which contains no serious title contenders..

10.) 07 Apr 2025 01:18:08
Tbf Ed, a lot of the past seasons where it was tighter was mainly due to us pushing City all the way. If not for that, the PL would have been won by Jan with a margin of maybe 20points separating 1st and 2nd. Granted, Arsenal stepped up the last few seasons too and pushed City all the way to the last day but the league has not exactly been competitive bar one or two teams for a long while now.

Midtable is where it's usually more exciting though with so little points separating the teams. Like this season, the gap between 3rd to 10th is the same as the gap between 17th and 18th. Even Everton is closer to 4th than they are to 20th despite being 15th.

{Ed025's Note - for the past number of years Drac the league has been competitive at the top and been a close run thing, its been in the balance up to the last few weeks and sometimes won on the last day but not this season, the league was virtually over a month ago because only Liverpool have been consistent and thats credit to them..

11.) 07 Apr 2025 04:17:30
I get where you're coming from, Ed25 but I see things a bit differently - every top team has had its fair share of problems this season.

Arsenal, for instance, have been heavily impacted by injuries, and their lack of a clinical striker has cost them dearly. Those two factors alone are probably why they’re not sitting top of the table right now.

City’s squad is aging, and although they clearly needed some fresh additions last year, they didn’t really address it. Add to that Rodri’s absence due to injury, which disrupted their rhythm massively.

As for us, we’ve had our own issues. Despite that, we’ve still managed to stay in the mix. The fact that we didn’t strengthen the squad last summer or in January is frustrating - especially with Ward and Hughes showing no ambition. Slot, too, hasn’t rotated key players enough, which has taken its toll.

We’ve also had to adapt to a new manager, a new system, and the uncertainty around contracts, all of which can mess with morale.

At the end of the day, the best team will win the league - and somehow, that’ll be us. But truthfully, all three squads need work.

In my opinion, the inconsistency of the big teams isn’t the defining factor. If anything, we’ve arguably faced more challenges than both City and Arsenal on paper, and still come out on top. That for me makes it all the more special. Many people are saying that if City and Arsenal didn't have their issues we wouldn't be top but they are ignoring the fact we've had tons of our own issues.

I think it's been a very scrappy season but I'm delighted with how it's gone obviously. I'd much prefer we didn't have to keep thinking 'But Arsenal won't win every game' we're relying on them dropping points but this is just how this league is now, it's so competitive it'll always be the case I think.

{Ed025's Note - it used to be competitive Salah but this season has been a cake walk for for the reds mate, i dont even think you have been at your best really and if you had would have won the league by February. every team has injuries so Arsenal can moan all they want but that wont wash, they never strengthened when they should have and its the same for city..

Good signing if true.
Manager knows him, relatively cheap option, versatile. Looks like a good fit on paper.

I think we were talking to his agent - who is also Gordon’s agent (which makes more sense) .

I’ve watched a bit of Bundesliga (admittedly on tv) and he looks ideal for us.

Could be awesome, but i watched him a fair bit at acov and i don’t think he’d suit us.

At Cov he was the main man and everything was set up for him - usually by playing a low block and springing him in acres of pitch. Against low block packed defences, his first touch usually let him down.

He has improved at Sporting, but i’m not sure he’s what we need.

I like the look of the lad Read at Feyenoord - but he’s only 19 and in his first proper season.

If Trent has decided to go, good luck to him. Absolute legend and always will be in my eyes.
