A few points on tonight’s game.
The diving from athletico was unacceptable. If that’s what Spanish football is really like you couldn’t pay me to watch a game.
The ref seemed to favour them for freekicks. Didn’t listen to the linesman and no added time for time wasting.
The defending was exceptional. 11 men behind the ball and closing TAA and Robbo too fast to stop any whipped in balls
Origi and the Ox just didn’t want to run when coming on. Only Bobby looked like a player who wanted to play with speed and penetration.
Anyway rant over, West Ham next then a huge atmosphere at Anfield for another big European night.
Ps Klopp has never lost a 2 leg European match with Liverpool ;)

I hate blaming officials when we lose a game as it comes across as bitter excuse-making. The result was a fair one but that was a very timid performance by a FIFA ref. He looked like he was petrified about upsetting the crowd.

Spanish football has always been like this. Drama queens donning football uniforms and doing their thing to gain the maximum advantage any way they can. Nobody is really surprised.

I would only take coutinho if we were going to lose him to arsenal or spurs. He’s a great player and could be the difference. I really think in midfield if there are a few injuries we will struggle. The Ox and Lallana and Shaqiri are all injury prone. Where would the creativity come from?

Hopefully he'll start against city I feel his defensive work will be needed. Also having two players if TAA plays then we have two players that can cross the ball which is certainly a weakness of Manchester city's in recent times.
