Has Carra been around since the wi Dow closed? Know some gave him the gears.

Appreciated his news.

Agree6 Disagree0

26 Sep 2025 06:47:19
He is around as he was on the banter page asking about pubs showing games, but no transfer goings on so assume nothing really new given proximity to the window shutting.

Agree6 Disagree0

26 Sep 2025 10:06:08
Its how he gets all his info Westwood.

After a successful window delivering great info, he heads to a pub in Liverpool and waits. Never leaving. Staying in the one place close to the action is key.

Hughes, Slot, Edwards, coaches Kitmen, Physio's, ex players might rarely visit such an establishment. It might be only once a year on a special occasion.

But once they do, our Carra is waiting patiently to buy them a pint and before they even know what's happening they are flapping all our transfer secrets.

Its a time consuming process. Its ruined many of his relationships. He is in a financial mess because of this. but my god is it worth it at the end of transfer window after delivering great info and he gets the

"Nice one Carra"

From all of us.

One theory on how Fabrizio Romano gets his transfer information is that he monitors private jets from which airports departing and landing for instance Frankfurt and manchester/ JLA then guesses the players involved, for the above reference Hugoals, i think airport staff tip him off for "coins of the realm" he's basically a private detective.

No clubs would ever tell anyone their transfer activities! they are tighter than a glass blowers Arse with regards to transfers.

{Ed001's Note - selling clubs often tip people off to get a bidding war going.}

Fair play Davy you’re a character mate.

Eds,
I see that Upamecano is in his final year at Munich. Have we shown any interest, given he is free in the summer, especially if Ibou leaves or as a Guehi alternative?
Thanks.

Agree5 Disagree26

{Ed001's Note - no, thankfully not in a long time as he is nowhere near good enough. Awful defender. He is an accident waiting to happen.}

25 Sep 2025 19:44:47
Real should be in for him.

25 Sep 2025 20:01:06
Pacino is dog awful, why would you want him to join the reds?

Agree4 Disagree0

Pacino isn't a great defender but he's a decent actor to be fair.

Agree4 Disagree0

26 Sep 2025 14:14:25
Do people watch a lot of other teams or do they hear / note down names for future reference because of transfer fees - and then after a qualifying period say: are we in for Stephen El Shawary?

Upamecano is bum holes. He’s rubbish. If you find fault with Konate, Dear Lizzy mouldering undies you’d hate Dayot. Shorter, slower, more mistakes than you could believe.

This is a big NO.

Agree5 Disagree0

27 Sep 2025 05:51:37
Upamecano, so echo Ed’s sentiments, is woeful. Extremely haphazard, positionally dreadful, he is athletic but has zero footballing intelligence. I watched one of France’s games and he made Konate look like Van Dijk, he was abysmal. I’d be worried if we saw him as a good option.

Agree5 Disagree0

28 Sep 2025 15:04:46
OP, Upamecano's overrated as hell and this, for years now. He hasn't improved at all so why would we be in for him? The CB's are out there. Upamecano ain't one of them.

Agree4 Disagree0

28 Sep 2025 19:18:34
I remember when Konate and Upamecano used to play together (forgot the German or Austrian team they were in), and Konate was always regarded as the better player. No reason to bring Upamecano in whatsoever.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Sep 2025 19:54:55
Well we need to replace Konate, he won't be with us next season.

Agree3 Disagree0

29 Sep 2025 00:03:45
You don't need to find fault with Konate. It's like looking out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window with a sea view.

Looks like FSG are closing in on the purchase of Getafe.

Agree13 Disagree1

25 Sep 2025 23:30:16
Can they play in defence and hold a high line?

Agree15 Disagree0

26 Sep 2025 03:01:16
They are the polar opposite of how we play haha, the most hated team in Europe with the ugliest style of football imaginable. Interesting team to read about and watch on occasion.

Agree6 Disagree0

26 Sep 2025 05:30:24
No more loans to clubs that won't play our up-and-coming players.

Agree5 Disagree0

26 Sep 2025 06:07:48
Good move by FSG and good news for a lot of our youngsters. If the business gets this right, they will use the knowledge of the existing management team and pair them up with the best in Spain to ensure the model works for both clubs amicably.

Agree4 Disagree0

26 Sep 2025 10:42:26
If this does go through, it’ll help with the South American market for youngsters they can be bought via Getafe and played then brought across to us.

Rumours that Ekitike is to be fined two weeks’ wages.
I’d be surprised if that was entirely true, but I can’t say I’d have much sympathy with him if it was.
The celebration was entirely unbecoming of a Liverpool player having scored an open-goal tap-in against a lower division club in the Carabao Cup, and such a self-absorbed display cannot be happening again - he needs reminding that we don’t do that at Liverpool, the team is the main man.
We needed him this week, because the trip to Palace just became substantially harder.

Agree22 Disagree1

25 Sep 2025 15:27:34
Sky Sports knocked two days out of the story. Talk about lazy journalism.

Agree11 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 15:40:36
Everyone is acting like no Liverpool player has ever been booked for a celebration before. Bobby for sure did it in the past.

He’s getting hammered a lot more because it’s was a second yellow.

It was a moment of stupidity, but Jesus Christ let’s try not to go OTT and lynch the lad.

Goodness people, the lad made a mistake. A stupid mistake but my word the inquisition that's followed has been embarrassing.

dont clubs have internal rules on this kind of thing? like every suspension costs a player a set amount etc? maybe just too much football manager in my life!

Agree5 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 16:40:28
I think that Slot should let it go this time, the guy has said that the emotion got the better of him, but I think that he will learn from it.

Agree13 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 17:38:16
I trust 2 things:

1) Slot will deal with it in the most appropriate way

2) Unless it is reported by the club, all other media outlets are probably just making stuff up to get clicks.

Agree22 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 20:18:57
Young lad gets a big money move and a second chance at a big club. He has real competition for is place from the record British signing. His start at LFC has been good, the fans have taken to him and he is delighted to score the winning goal for the club.

A bit of a mistake removing his top but this a non story.

Agree13 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 20:27:17
First yellow shouldn’t have been a yellow. The second was just naivety and plain stupid but he isn’t the first to behave that way and I would rather he builds some passion and support with the fans than run off smiling for the cameras.
Hugo is Boss!

25 Sep 2025 22:19:14
I have a vague memory of a stat that At one stage salah had more yellow cards from taking his shirt off at old trafford than manu had scored goals against us. Personally I think it’s an out dated rule. Id much prefer them to start handing out cards for flops.

Agree7 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 22:53:30
Anyone think he did it cos he was angry starting on the bench?

Agree5 Disagree0

26 Sep 2025 05:31:49
He has shown a touch of Darwin there - the fine is a good call and should help him learn to reign it in. He seems quite egocentric and needed a dose of humility, it will serve him well in the long run.

Agree4 Disagree0

26 Sep 2025 14:16:57
Did anyone watch Slots press conference where he clearly stated he wouldn’t be getting fined?

Prolly worth a watch before you all start putting out your fiery knickers.

Agree5 Disagree0

27 Sep 2025 05:54:43
It is very common for players to be fined for getting red cards - think I heard Ben Foster talk about this in his podcast - and given how needless it was I am sure Ekitike will get fined. I get it the emotion of the moment, etc etc but he’s a pro, and we’re now an important player light for our next game - he has to make better decisions.

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Sep 2025 11:42:50
Key in his response

If he comes back and does more of what seems like self-absorbed me-me-me behaviours, then yeah go in

The fallout from some fans is way OTT imo. Save it for if there becomes a pattern.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Sep 2025 15:10:28
@Why, So you're saying that Eki-Techy wasn't going to get fined after all? So it was all fake news from the beginning? That tracks.

As for the overblown nature of the story, a mountain out of a molehill, really. Must have been a lot slow days at the office for all these days after the storm in a tea cup happened.

29 Sep 2025 14:44:18
OliRed

Yes, it was a lie told by a liar who works for the Daily Mail. As people where on here being all aggrieved about this fine and its nature Slot was in a press conference saying “we have not fined him”.

My point is, don’t believe liars from the Daily Mail, if you do choose to believe liars don’t let their lies get you all outraged and frustrated. That’s a daft course of action.

Hi ED,

I assume LFC will definitely go for a CB in Jan. any idea who they have concrete interest in on the assumption Guehi will not join in Jan. (or is he likely) CP will prob up the price even if he want to join as we a now desperate for cover.

Agree3 Disagree21

{Ed001's Note - I still expect Guehi.}

24 Sep 2025 19:11:11
We are just one CB injury away from this season turning into a nightmare. Should have prioritised CB. Pretty sure endo and bajetic will end up playing CB in some games for us.

Agree14 Disagree0

24 Sep 2025 19:39:35
Do you think we’ll go for guhie now in Jan ed001?

Was at the match last night, such a shame with Leoni, he looks decent, understand why there were a few clubs after him

Cheers
Drogie.

Agree9 Disagree17

{Ed001's Note - I thought we would do so anyway.}

24 Sep 2025 20:03:48
I can't see us offering anything more than around £15m in Jan for guehi. I wonder from a palace point of view, considering how well they've started the season and I've no doubt they will progress to latter stages of conference league, that they just hold onto him to the summer? That he is more valuable to them staying for 2nd half of season as opposed to the fee they will get with only 6 months on his contract.

Agree8 Disagree0

24 Sep 2025 20:30:29
I thought we tried to sign Romero Indy?

Agree6 Disagree0

24 Sep 2025 21:41:47
I think we will go for a centre back, I think it’s clear that we have learnt from the past, it’ll probably be Guehi, and I think we’ll pay what it takes. Either way, no reason not to trust Hughes.

Agree6 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 01:33:35
If we did find ourselves in a pickle because of injuries to Centre halves do you know of any out of contract defenders we could maybe sign on a short term deal.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 05:43:23
Out of contract players are out of a contract for a reason. Don't think there are any out there who can come on and improve us.

Agree5 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 05:57:54
Six - Tomiyasu is the only one that springs to mind, that said I am unsure what his injury status is, but he's certainly not a bad player. I think it more likely that either Robertson or Endo cover at CB and we recall either Tsimikas or McConnel respectively.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 08:15:49
Did I just read a post that was critical of our summer window? Geez.

Agree5 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 08:37:43
maybe that's why slot was trying Robbo at CB in pre-season.
I am not too concerened that we have lost a player that hasn't really played for us yet.
Think positive guys.

Agree3 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 09:24:33
Maybe Steven Caulker is still out there somewhere.

Agree11 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 10:51:56
This is why I said the Hato deal made sense. He can cover CB/ LB. Gutted about Leoni but that's the nature of football. Young quality options that can cover and push the team makes sense.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 13:39:27
@PatrikBurgher - Caulker currently plays in Iceland from what I read recently….

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Sep 2025 17:06:19
Palace are not going to play ball with us and there will be other teams happy to pay the higher price.
Bizarre that we didn't buy Hato or Hincapie. Did we not learn from the previous debacle re lack of CBs?
Gomez is made from crepe paper (lovely lad and all that but proved again against lesser quality opponent why we can't rely upon him) and Konate will shortly start doing the dance with Madrid. This could cost us.

Agree1 Disagree4

{Ed001's Note - neither of them wanted to be van Dijks back up.}

25 Sep 2025 17:40:19
Guehi has his heart set on Liverpool I thought that much was obvious. Surely the only reason he’s taken the disappointment so well is that they’ve told him he can go in January?

People need to learn to read between the lines. Can you imagine how he would’ve reacted if we’d said it was now or never and Palace blocked it mid medical? He’d be a hell of a lot more angry than he is now.

Palace have asked him to stay until January, we have said we’ll sign him in January so he’s happy to wait a few months. Not the end of the world and a pretty obvious scenario.

That being said I do find it funny how people are so invested in Guehi like he’s the next coming of VVD. I think he’s a decent player but I wouldn’t be too worried if a rival signed him which is always the acid test for me.

Like if Arsenal or City had signed Wirtz and Isak I’d be terrified. Guehi? Not so much.

Agree4 Disagree0

26 Sep 2025 14:47:45
Not sure the path will be any easier for Hincapie to first team opportunities at Arsenal ED001.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - they only have Calfiori who can play left-back long term, Lewis-Skelly is a midfielder who was stopgap cover. They brought in Hincapie so he can play in midfield. Players like Timber, who have played there, are right-sided and only really used there in an emergency. And he covers at centre-back as well.}

26 Sep 2025 18:08:51
One CB injury away from a “nightmare” but 3 left backs was “far too many”.

You big sillies.

Sadly, Giovanni Leoni will be out for months. He has a Ruptured ACL injury. He is to undergo surgery and the long rehab soon. I believe Romano has already reported on it.

Agree10 Disagree2

24 Sep 2025 15:46:09
Terrible news for the young lad, especially after moving to a new country and settling at a new club. I ruptured my ACL 22 years ago and despite the op it was never right again, thus ending my football and rugby playing days. Hopefully he will have the best of everything to help get him back on his feet ASAP and can pick up on his very promising career.

Agree13 Disagree1

24 Sep 2025 16:12:43
The only positive is he’s at a great club, with leaders who have suffered the same and is young enough to recover fully and still have the career his talent should afford him.

He was genuinely excellent last night. He will be again one day soon.

Agree17 Disagree1

24 Sep 2025 16:33:35
Oh what a massive blow.

The fact that we have VVD at the club, who is I'm sure a role model for the lad, and who himself came back from a similar injury 5 years ago and got back to the same heights he was at before, and he was 10 years older than the YLFP, is what is giving hope of a full recovery.

Good luck Giovanni, we are all rooting for you.

Agree25 Disagree1

24 Sep 2025 18:59:11
Well said Zed! Giovanni looked great last night. What an unfortunate yet devastating injury but there's huge support around him currently and a full roadmap for full recovery already moving. He's with the very best; in all and every sense of the word. The very best of luck Giovanni, I'm already looking forward to seeing you back on the Anfield turf.

Agree8 Disagree1

24 Sep 2025 21:43:20
Well said Zed and Why. Hope the young lad recovers quickly. He looks absolutely top class.

Agree6 Disagree1

25 Sep 2025 09:48:00
I'll second that sentiment Zed and of course he has Chiesa with him who has also recovered from and ACL tear and further resulting injuries. Leoni is very young and will most definitely be back next season stronger and with better English and a taste for a bowl of scouse.
