Eds,
Do Liverpool hold any interest in Cunha? Reminds me of a more athletic version of Bobby and would slot in nicely as a false 9 or AM given the way we play.
Some reports he may be one to watch in January but are you aware of anything specific for Liverpool?
Thanks!

v12bax

{Ed001's Note - we have been following him for a while, but I don't know of any move in the offing.}

1.) 21 Jan 2025 10:45:15
Clearly a bag of talent but his actions towards the Ipswich member of staff were appalling, him arguing with his manager on the pitch last night and his absolute lack of tracking back means he falls into the Klopp “no divvies” bracket for me.

Clearly gifted, suspect attitude.

2.) 21 Jan 2025 11:29:17
Didn't he storm down the tunnel at the end of the game and refused to acknowledge the fans or players. Sometimes, as good as a player is, bringing them in and can upset the apple cart and destabilise a steady squad.

3.) 21 Jan 2025 12:01:04
Hughes has been stalking him and looking in his window at him but he's now wore and needs a rest as all this stalking, monitoring, keeping an eye on is hard work.

4.) 21 Jan 2025 12:13:20
I think the 'attitude' comes from being so much better than the rest of his teammates and them wasting potential chances by taking stupid shots etc. He's just back from injury so that might be why he didn't track back as he usually does because i've seen him cover every inch of grass in other games.

5.) 21 Jan 2025 12:19:36
And what will his attitude be if he arrives at Liverpool and isn’t as good as his teammates?

Will he throw his toys out of the pram as well?

Too many question v not a huge return for me.

6.) 21 Jan 2025 12:44:20
Fair enough mate.

7.) 21 Jan 2025 12:46:53
He will be very expensive.

Eds
Many thanks again from all of us for your valuable insight throughout the window.
Assuming free agents can still be signed after it closes, are Liverpool still looking at reinforcements? I understood there was some interest in Rabiot and wondered whether we might look to the likes of Matip on a short term contract for until the summer?
I’m not suggesting that we should by the way, Just wondering!
All the best.

v12bax

{Ed002's Note - There is a couple of weeks where they could but unless they up their offer to Rabiot significantly he will head elsewhere. Matip will likely move elsewhere.}

Eds,
Some suggestion that Goretzka is surplus at Bayern. I know we looked at him years back before his move there.
Any interest from Liverpool or is he a different type of player to what we are (supposedly) looking for?
Many thanks.

v12bax

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool has no interest.}

1.) 19 Aug 2024 11:07:33
He’s well past his best. Hard pass.

2.) 19 Aug 2024 16:49:48
He is on extortionate wages, is injured all the time, doesn’t perform well when he is picked, and hasn’t shown himself to have much hunger since he earned his big payday in the year Bayern won everything. No way should we go for him.

Eds,
Do Liverpool still hold an interest in Bakayoko or Chiesa? Seems all the winger talk is Gordon still which I don’t understand.
Also, will a move for a winger be determined by departures and do you see us still making a move for a CB? Seems Inacio is the only one left!
Thanks again for all of the credible info.

v12bax

{Ed002's Note - Gordon is the preferred LW over Chiesa. Bakayoko is attracting considerable attention from elsewhere - it will depend on Salah I would think.}

1.) 11 Aug 2024 09:37:39
I’d rather keep Salah for RW this season and then bring in a replacement next summer if he leaves at the end of his contract.

Another 20+ goal season is on the cards for Mo again. He might be slowing down but he’s still one of the best RW in the game.

2.) 11 Aug 2024 10:41:17
Ed002, do you think if there will be an offer for Gordon now that Carvalho is gone or the Carvalho money would go for Zubimendi's release clause?

Thanks for your answers and info.

{Ed002's Note - That is not how it works.}

3.) 11 Aug 2024 10:06:39
Hi Ed, would an attacking addition for RW depend on Salah going? We do seem a bit light that side especially if Doak is to leave as suggested, or would back up fall to the likes of Elliot and even Szoboszlai who are both capable? Again for Gordon to come in would that mean one of the left sided players is going to have to make way as that side seems much more stocked with Diaz, Jota and Gakpo.

{Ed002's Note - Doak cannot of played more than a handful of games for the first team and clubs typically don't buy to replace players going on loan. If Salah decides to run his contract down the club will look to one of the RW they have in mind, but there would not be a huge urgency to add a player this summer.

Liverpool will try again for Gordon. Diaz wants out and his agent is pushing him to Barcelona as an alternative to Nico Williams, their preferred target.}

Eds,
Any concrete interest / update re. Calafiori and Liverpool?
Seems to fit the bill re age, left footed and can play CB or LB.
Thanks.

v12bax

{Ed002's Note - Riccardo Calafiori (CB/LB) Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea have a declared interest but he is not first choice for either although Chelsea may well look to two additions and push for the player. Newcastle interest has gone. Spurs, Bayern Munich and Brighton have sent scouts but Juventus has held a number of discussions with Bologna and are offering cash and a part exchange. They will also have an edge because of Motta although Bologna have now secured CL football they insist they do not need to sell their prime assets. A wildcard may be Real Madrid. Liverpool have shown no interest that I am aware of and have very specific targets of their own.}

1.) 28 Jun 2024 13:45:57
Would Madrids interest be dependent on signing Yoro?

{Ed002's Note - No, it is dependent on something else - hence it only really being a wildcard option.}

Any reason why such positive news hasn’t been announced by the club then?

Always appreciate Macca's posts but hope this one is way off. We're deluded if we think he is an upgrade on what we have. Isn't this the keeper van gaal subbed for penalties a few years back and preferred Tim Krul!?
Feel like we have missed a trick with the likes of Rui Patricio going on a free to Wolves and we're paying £20+ million for a lad who has warmed the bench at Barcelona for 2 seasons.
Disappointing if true.
J.

v12bax

{Ed002's Note - Patricio wasn't free.}
