Eds seeing lots of reports that Citeh and Aresnal have moved ahead of us in the chase to sign Palhina from Fulham. Are we interested? and if so is that story true? thanks.
{Ed002's Note - Joao Palhinha (DM/CM) Only moved 18 months ago and Fulham will not look to sell unless a huge offer is made and the player asks for a move. All interest except that of Bayern Munich, Arsenal and possibly Newcastle will have gone with the signing of a new contract although Manchester United and Liverpool have had a will respected ex PL and high-end independent scout watch the player on their behalf - although both have other targets. Agent has spoken with Manchester City and Chelsea, and Manchester City may offer an option. Fulham will still look to replacements as they fear the player could have his head turned by Bayern Munich or Arsenal, who see him as an option to Trindade, who Fulham are also keen on.}

I think this is a cracking bit of business if true.
He seems very highly thought of and is likely to replace matip long term who can’t be trusted with his injury record.
From what I have heard he seems pacy and can play out from the back but I think ed001 said his weakness his aerially. Which long term can be developed, in our situation we were never getting the perfect cb for peanuts.
But at 2m for a 25 year old he has resale value if it doesn’t work, and if it does our likely 4th choice hasn’t massively damaged the coffers. Plus I presume he’s home grown which is a bonus.
The club have a fairly good track record and I have no reason to doubt them on this. Rival fans will no doubt mock but the proof will be in the pudding. If we can get one of Hendo or fab in midfield it can only be a positive imo. Plus ed047 will have to try flog mustafi to someone else 😂.

LIDAR - Same as radar but using light from lasers. Car's use it for all sorts of safety features. But there are loads of applications for it.

Alderweireld could easily fetch 50 million £ and more, look at Bonucci who is 2 years older. Defenders could play for the same level much longer than a midfielder or a forward, CB's in general playing for top teams run around the least and cover the least distance.
He could give his next team 5 seasons of top performances and would be considered a bargain in the long run considering what defenders are starting to cost nowadays, 79 million € for van Dijk, 65 million € for Laporte. 45 million € for Bonucci and that was before the Neymar deal which made the market 30-40% more expensive!

I think we'll get Davies in and Long on loan. Long is looking like it may be a difficult deal to get done on time though. Should have had business done before now. Sky will be loving the viewing tomorrow to see if we can get deals done.

Im more the same age group as ED025, some amazing players over my lifetime. Sometimes forget just how good we have been. So hard to say best plater overall, but best keeper has to be Clemence. A keeper ahead of his time, Ali runs him a close second. Best Manager, PAISLEY always.
