Is there any legs in these Gavi links? Story doesn't seem to go away and he still hasn't signed a deal. To be honest I haven't watched much of him so couldn't say how good he is.

Jones red

{Ed002's Note - Gavi will not be joining Liverpool.}

1.) 20 Apr 2022 21:53:28
Cheers, had to ask.

24 Mar 2022 20:45:20
Ed's would you say Klopp still has any interest in Dembele at Barca? He's playing really well and can still agree a pre contract now with foreign teams.

Jones red

{Ed002's Note - As far as I know there is still interest but he won’t be first choice - and obviously until a decision is taken over Sarah nothing much will happen.}

1.) 24 Mar 2022 21:28:08
Thanks Ed. Appreciated.

2.) 25 Mar 2022 20:25:22
Sarah. SARAH.

17 Mar 2022 21:06:48
Can anyone confirm if this interest in Gavi of Barcelona is true? Constantly linked with us of late, which I know means nothing, but reading now we have allegedly offered a 6 million euro contract.

Jones red

{Ed002's Note - Gavi (CM) Barcelona will not sell and that has been shared with Manchester City, Chelsea and PSG who enquired. Liverpool and Bayern Munich have sent scouts to watch him. He will get a new contract with a Buy Out clause which will make him pretty much untouchable. Still a kiddie.}

15 Jan 2022 00:12:15
Rumours surfacing that we have made the best offer to Dembele than anyone else. Not saying it's true just that I've read it.

Jones red

1.) 15 Jan 2022 08:18:07
As long as he brings his dance troupe with him.

2.) 15 Jan 2022 08:34:18
Another sick note to the list.

3.) 15 Jan 2022 09:01:55
Ed002 said that he prefers elsewhere unless Salah or Mane leaves. I would doubt we have put any offer forward at all taking all into account.

4.) 15 Jan 2022 10:11:54
For me it's a high possibility that mane will be on his way in the summer and while dembele has a poor injury record I'm not going to put down any player the club signs and will support them. If the manager that's brought us this far likes and wants a player then get behind them. Only if its true obviously.

5.) 15 Jan 2022 11:11:44
It’s not just his injury record that’s poor RedJoe, it’s everything, his attitude, his general fitness and just a complete lack of professionalism. Has Balotelli mk2 written all over it. I don’t want him at the club and if we sign him he’ll be flop of colossal proportions who we’ll be unable to get rid of when it inevitably turns bad.

6.) 15 Jan 2022 08:53:25
If we signed him, it would be as stupid as that time we signed Balotelli. That went well didn’t it?

7.) 15 Jan 2022 11:48:28
Dont think ANYBODY can compare to Balotelli, on a free i wouldn't be totally against it.

8.) 15 Jan 2022 11:51:54
I completely agree the attitude is awful mate but maybe he has the wrong people around him and klopp and the team believe they could get the best out of him. He's still young as well mate when I was younger I made allot of mistakes but it's how you move on from them that makes you a man. My view is if he comes well get behind him gice the guy a chance cause there's an absolute beast of a player there.

9.) 15 Jan 2022 12:08:39
The signing-on fee would be astronomical. I can't see FSG being willing to pay out a lot of money for anyone never mind Dumbellie!

10.) 15 Jan 2022 12:40:05
@meagain :Like the £145m they spent on Becker and Van Dijk you mean?

11.) 15 Jan 2022 13:09:44
The problem with Balotelli was we were playing attacking football and we sold the most astute and mobile striker we ever had and replaced him Balotelli, who was about as mobile as a washing line. Dem else is not that type of player and given how poor our squad depth is, he is worth a loan punt.

12.) 15 Jan 2022 13:42:15
To be fair I trust Klopp, so if he thinks he can get a player out of him then I don’t mind. No transfer fee and we do need to add in this area. I wouldn’t be against Dembele free and Diaz coming in at all.

13.) 15 Jan 2022 14:40:22
no chance. Diaz appears to be the target.

{Ed002's Note - They play in different positions.}

14.) 15 Jan 2022 14:57:51
Ed002 have only seen glimpses of Diaz but where would he play in the team I thought he was playing on the left of a front 3? Would signing Diaz depend on the sale of salah or mane?

{Ed002's Note - Luis Diaz (LW/LM/AM/F) Porto rejected an offer from Spurs in 2020 and Mr Mourinho is thought to be keen on taking him to Roma and moving Justin Kluivert on permanently. Spurs do remain keen and Atletico have a declared interest. The player has been offered to Chelsea and Everton and has been scouted by Newcastle, Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund at the behest of his agent, although with Ancelotti gone Everton are not an option. His agent would like to organise a move to Real Madrid but they will not be looking to spend the required €80M cash on him so has now approached both Manchester clubs. There is certainly interest from Liverpool and he is, although versatile, largely left sided. It would not be a shock to see him edge Firmino out.}

15.) 15 Jan 2022 15:12:51
No player is free. Dembele isn't going to play for free.

16.) 15 Jan 2022 15:21:17
"I don't want". Doesn't matter what anybody wants apart from Klopp and whoever signs the cheques.

17.) 15 Jan 2022 20:07:01
In the multiverse theory, there are infinite numbers of universes where infinite possibilities occur, however in every single one of them Ousmane Dembele is injured and waiting on a home delivery from McDonald’s while playing PlayStation.

The man is an absolute waster and not fit to wear the shirt.

18.) 15 Jan 2022 20:26:13
I hear that they put people in prison these days for eating fast food and playing play station - absolutely disgracefully when human beings eat or enjoy free time in my opinion. I hear the judgemental are not safe now either.

19.) 15 Jan 2022 22:32:53
I have to say a lot of people questioned the attitude and ability of Mane on here before we signed and that turned out not too bad. I understand what you are all saying but as has been said we don’t sign the cheques or decide who we sign.

We have an attack that requires rejuvenation as there is an obvious decline in this area over the last 18 months. Sorry but I would be more than happy to have signed both Dembele and Diaz in the summer. Both are still young and have great pace I think Klopp could improve both whilst also given our attack much better options.

I would say if this were to happen we would at least move on one of Mane or Firmino if not both which to be fair I could live with both moving on. Both have been excellent but in my opinion both have declined over the last season and a half and it’s no time to be sentimental.

Selling both would no doubt release two high earners also, which would be needed if we were to sign both Dembele and Diaz. A front four of Diaz, Salah, Jota and Dembele would be a great four.

Add a midfielder and a couple of frees such as Carvallho and Munai and I’d say we would have strengthened significantly.

I fully expect to lose Williams, Phillips, Milner, Karius, Adrian and one of Keita, Ox or Tiago.
We don’t need to strengthen defence or goal as we are well stocked and if we sign the above two attackers then we just have midfield to concentrate on.

08 Jan 2022 22:40:00
Any legs in the Gavi link?

Jones red

1.) 08 Jan 2022 22:57:49
there will be on this website! :)

2.) 08 Jan 2022 23:27:33
£50m on a 17 year old? Pigs are more likely to sprout wings and fly. I can see City spending the money as they can afford the risk, we can’t afford the risk.

3.) 09 Jan 2022 03:17:36
@VVVV can you give it a rest mate? It’s a rumour on the rumours page and to be honest you have no real idea. - like the rest of us - as to what the owners are willing (or not willing to sanction) in terms of finances for transfers.

In this instance, for example, the assumed. ( though not necessarily accurate) fee of £50m for a 17yr old could quite easily turn into £300 or 400m sell on for the same lad at 22 or 23 might be considered a worthwhile investment by the owners, although again this is just supposition on my part. However, it might be true that whilst the club won’t spend tens of millions on fully developed back-up players the story might be completely different for a youngster who has the potential.

Anyway, it’s a rumours page and it would be a shame if people’s fun was spoiled by one or two just saying “we won’t sign them’ over and over again every time a name is put up.

4.) 09 Jan 2022 06:10:03
WDW - I've described VVVV before as the necessary accountability partner for all of us. It just won't go away lol it is good to have that reality monster keeping us all in check haha.

5.) 09 Jan 2022 12:00:49
Good glad he gone, I have it on good authority that we have our bids accepted for haaland and embappe and now all we have to do is set up a go gofund me page. The page is called saveourseason#VVVV.

6.) 09 Jan 2022 12:12:07
To add ALL transfers are a risk irrelevant of age of the player.

7.) 09 Jan 2022 12:12:41
I agree with VVV, Liverpool are struggling financially, I doubt the club would pay a hefty fee on nothing more than potential, which is what a 17 year old is.
If the owners were willing to sanction significant sums for transfers, Klopp would have already strengthened our midfield.
There have been several windows to do so and quite a few players who have shown they are simply not good enough for us, but we persevere with them because we cannot afford to improve them.
It must be so frustrating for klopp, especially when he had finally closed the gap on Man City. Always Strengthen when you are on top.

8.) 09 Jan 2022 12:22:07
These kind of unrealistic types of signings never happen, we’re never going to risk spending £50m on a kid who may not make it (probability wise there’s as much chance he’ll turn out to be a Krcic or a Pacheco as there is a Messi or a Xavi), so no, we’re not going to spend £50m on a 17 year old prospect. Sorry that’s just the cold hard truth. I’d imagine it’s nonsense put out by his agent to try and get a bigger contract out of Barca, or to try and get other more likely parties involved. The reality of our situation is pretty stark, we simply can’t financially compete with City, Chelsea or United when it comes to signing players, as it stands we can’t even compete with Arsenal, Spurs or even Villa (given their interest in Bissouma) so any talk of players with big transfer fees is pointless, and it’s not going to get any easier as we come up the point of having to replace Firmino, Mane and Salah for various reasons (age, contracts coming up etfc) as well as refreshing our increasingly decrepit midfield, both of which we don’t have the funds to be able to do and are patently unable to raise the necessary funds to do from sales as barring TAA, there’s no one that we have that could really give us those funds. Add to that the loss of Michael Edwards from the recruitment team (which I’d imagine he’ll be on gardening leave imminently), and can you say in all honesty that everything in the garden is rosy? As it looks far from it, even at just a cursory glance.

9.) 09 Jan 2022 12:35:18
Christ, you really do just moan for the sake of moaning. People can't even post a silly rumour during silly season without you going on and on about how the club is imploding and we're going to get relegated and we might as well sell Anfield while we're at it so we can afford Adama Traore's signing on fee.

10.) 09 Jan 2022 13:54:22
I know I got depressed reading that. It’s a football site we’ve been linked with him so why not post it.

11.) 09 Jan 2022 16:05:18
Because some people get literally ZERO joy outa supporting their team.

12.) 09 Jan 2022 19:52:19
Kinell I feel like walking into the sea after reading VVVV’s posts. You make C.V. sound like fun! Come on mate let’s get some good old fashioned rumours going. Or support another team. We area where we are it’s no one’s fault. We aren’t being mismanaged. We’re suffering the effects of a global C.V. mate. That’s the reality. Cut our cloth accordingly. We can win the league or CL every year.

13.) 09 Jan 2022 21:32:40
My wife's sisters boyfriends uncles daughters cousins son is in creche with Gavi's little sister. She told him on Friday just before nap time that Klopp thinks her big brother is very talented.

14.) 10 Jan 2022 02:37:42
@VVVV - you are missing the point, actually missing several points not least that being a fan means you support the club and hopefully get some fun out of it.

However, in this instance the binary approach all good vs all bad is false. You are correct in saying we don’t have the consistent shed loads of money that City or Chelsea or PSG or Real Madrid have but that doesn’t mean to say that we don’t cherry pick from the ‘top end’ when needed - Ali, VVD as prime examples or that we don’t buy medium level players with a view to our manager turning their unrealised potential into world class form on the pitch - Mo, Sadio, Bobby, Fabs for example, or that we don’t buy bargain basement players again with our manager working with the potential they have to turn them into top notch players - Robbo being the prime example.

I won’t bother with the kids coming through the Academy system as that’s a different issue in that a lot of them weren’t transferred in and have been developed from within.

Obviously the club have signed players who haven’t worked out - Keita primarily due to attitude (if gossip is correct) and Ox and Thiago primarily due to injuries as recent examples but the point is whilst the club doesn’t always shop at the top end of the market, in the vast majority of cases it shops in the right part of the market when a player with potential, temperament or whatever is identified for what the manager wants in terms of the way his team is set up.

In a lot of cases in recent years nobody has really been any the wiser about who we were targeting so rejecting a player out of hand because you either don’t like some of the traits of the player or because he doesn’t fit the monetary framework that you use is just pointless as the club doesn’t work to the same song sheet. If I may offer a pice of advice perhaps you should try and empathise with Klopp when a players name is mentioned and perhaps post how you would see their talents being used to best effect? Just a thought.

15.) 10 Jan 2022 15:53:44
West derby, I agree wholeheartedly with your reply. This is a rumours page that far to many people think they run and what they say is absolute gospel, when in fact they have about as much clue as the rest of us about what transfers will and won’t be sanctioned. It’s the same people the jump on posts with try the search function or RTPS.

Reports West Ham are looking at Raphina from Leeds.

Jones red

{Ed0666's Note - why would they when they have Bowen that plays in that position??

1.) 28 Jan 2022 22:05:50
Just what or read before, don’t shoot the messenger.

2.) 28 Jan 2022 22:09:21
I doubt very much if he would want to go to West Ham. Also I doubt they have £65m to spend on one player.

3.) 28 Jan 2022 23:07:17
He was linked to Bayern a couple of weeks ago. Bayern to West Ham is some come down.

What next Diaz to Everton 😜.

4.) 29 Jan 2022 00:05:20
He wouldn’t be going for £65 million.

5.) 29 Jan 2022 00:18:37
North of £50m 100%.

6.) 29 Jan 2022 00:51:00
We should sign Rafinha to cover for Diaz who we should sign for Mane.
FSG are selling us short.

7.) 29 Jan 2022 02:14:12
Proper BS or they are resigned to lose Bowen in the summer. West Ham needs defenders and a striker.

8.) 29 Jan 2022 22:28:40
Raphinha wants to play in the CL. If that is true then what in blazes would he be doing WH?

28 Jan 2022 11:36:52
Great day for the us in the window. got to think now a couple will leave before Monday.

If Origi goes to Atalanta it will only be a low fee, so assuming at least one other will leave from Phillips, Williams and/ or Minimino.

Not sure if true but apparently Carvallho is also a possible arrival this window.

If we do get both Diaz and Carvallho this window you have to say it's been a good one.

Plus now we will hopefully have the prospect of Mane, Salah, Jota, Firmino and Diaz as an attack for the run in. More than happy with that.

Jones red

1.) 28 Jan 2022 11:54:18
Haven’t signed anyone yet lads.

2.) 28 Jan 2022 12:21:51
I did say hopefully.

3.) 28 Jan 2022 14:01:01
Origi is injured.

26 Jan 2022 20:53:41
Ant legs in Dybala on a free this summer. Must admit haven't seen that much of him to be honest but his goals assists records looks decent.

Jones red

{Ed0666's Note - I don’t think he’s that good tbh

1.) 26 Jan 2022 22:20:17
Ed0666 I think he's a smashing player and does work off the ball which would suit us but I suppose we all do see the game and players in different ways. For me maybe it's an alternative to paying a huge transfer fee for a player and getting good quality in. I'd love it to be true.

{Ed0666's Note - I hear ya mate about viewing players with different lens’ that aside he won’t come cheap tho. There’s the signing on fee which will be steep and a salary upward of £150k a week at least. I love his back story tho he really deserves his place in the world because of how he got to where he is now. Experienced poverty & sacrificed his family unit to get where he is now.

2.) 27 Jan 2022 02:38:53
Juventus can't reach an agreement with him over the wages and why do you think we would?

3.) 27 Jan 2022 04:59:05
Dybala looked a superb prospect until Juve signed Ronaldo, as until then Dybala had been developing into one of the best players in Serie A. Ronaldo being signed completely changed what should have been the years he went from top talent to world-class attacker.

4.) 27 Jan 2022 07:01:17
Cant really see Lfc signing ANY player seen to be going into the 1st eleven for any less than £150k a week. that's just the modern game we have to accept that. Not just talking about Dybala in particular but when were weary of signing an out of contract player good enough for our squad because we'll have to pay him a sign on and decent wages we may aswell give up.

5.) 27 Jan 2022 07:29:43
Dybala is not a winger or a striker. He needs a free role in the midfield area and that goes to Mr. Elliot.

6.) 27 Jan 2022 08:23:47
RedJoe I’ve seen a lot of him and can assure you he doesn’t work anywhere near enough off the ball for Klopp. Flits in and out of games. Is quality but doesn’t work hard enough. Also a few injuries and a bit too old for FSG big money move that he would cost with fees and wage.

7.) 27 Jan 2022 12:15:13
It might have been living in poverty that gave him Ant legs.

25 Jan 2022 21:10:51
I'm reading Sheffield Utd are looking at Williams and Phillips. Don't they have Davies on loan as well?

I doubt Phillips but could see Williams going. Does anyone know how Davies is getting on there?

11 Jan 2022 11:58:38

With so many strikers either set to leave their current club or becoming free agents, where do people think the below will end up?

Mbappe. Madrid

Origi. Milan

Haaland. Dortmund

Kane. City

Raphina. Leeds

For me I'd take a punt on above, I couldn't place all so for fun what are peoples opinion?

Jones red

1.) 11 Jan 2022 12:52:09
I don't think City will move for Kane unless Levy let's him go for a price that reflects his age, he is 29 in July. There are 49 Dembele's currently with European clubs but if you mean the lad at Barcelona whose legs can't take two consecutive games, I hope for his sake that he moves to a less competitive league.

I don't know who Munai is. Probably a good call on Mbappe for the summer, I think Origi will go to Newcastle this month.

2.) 11 Jan 2022 14:11:17
Just for fun remember, yeah the Dembele of Barca.

Kane. City.

Origi. Milan

Munai. Newcastle

Mbappe. Madrid

Haaland. Dortmund

Vlahovic. Possibly us or Chelsea.

Dembele. PSG.

I’ll go with above.

3.) 11 Jan 2022 14:20:05
I don't know why city would want Kane? He's hardly special. They will look elsewhere unless they get an absolute bargain on him. Even then it'd be a waste of wages

Haaland I see being a City or Chelsea player next.

It's all speculation at the moment, it'll certainly be interesting this month but I can't see much happening, summer will be the big one, many big names moving. All I'm bothered about is us and if/ when origi departs then I wish the lad the very best of luck.

4.) 11 Jan 2022 16:17:08
I don’t think we’ll buy anyone this window, but I think we’ll replace Gini in the summer. The midfield has had a shocker this season for one reason or another.

5.) 11 Jan 2022 17:19:48
All this was intended to be the summer window not the January window.

6.) 11 Jan 2022 18:19:22
I would like to see us buying Raphina from Leeds, I think he would be brilliant attacking a packed defense .

7.) 11 Jan 2022 21:55:42
To be honest I can’t see Leeds allowing him to leave.

8.) 12 Jan 2022 05:29:42
Raphina will move in the summer but many teams will be after his signature. I would love Liverpool to get him.
I would also look at Bissouma and Neuhaus at BMonch.
Both an upgrade on our current midfield injury prone crop!
I would also like to see the evolution start with possibly Mane moved on and Lautaro Martinez brought in.

{Ed077's Note - Lautaro Martinez signed a new deal in October which ties him down till the summer of 2026, without any buyout/release/termination clause. So I would think a move this summer to be improbable.

9.) 12 Jan 2022 19:47:32
For me I’d be happy with.

Carvallho (Fulham) free.

Vlahovic (Fiorentina) or Diaz (Porto) . If we could afford both then both

Munai (Reims I think) free

Two other midfielders.

Keita or Ox.

Tiago maybe.

One of Firmino or Mane.
