Team talk claiming we have offered Alonso a three year contract with the aim of beating Munich?

Any truth in this?

Jones red

{Ed002's Note - Xabi Alonso (C) A popular choice for clubs and having a great season at Bayer Leverkusen, but very inexperienced, although there will be interest in him from Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United. Has made no secret of a desire to follow Ancelotti at Real Madrid - but that won't be until 2026 so they can be discounted at this time although he has the support of Carlo Ancelotti. Klopp has endorsed both Alonso and Nagelsmann for the Liverpool job. Bayern Munich offer a serious option. If he were to win the league this season it would likely make it very difficult for him to leave Leverkusen and there would be significant pressure to stay. There are no clauses in his contract allowing him to leave to join any other club. His agent Inaki Ibanez has said that multiple clubs are enquiring and that clubs need to work with empoyers.}

1.) 28 Feb 2024 22:32:32
I would prefer a different source, a different length of contract and news that it's been accepted but hopefully it all goes well.

2.) 28 Feb 2024 22:56:46
Teamtalk is utter garbage, they make stuff up on a daily basis.

3.) 28 Feb 2024 22:59:51
I feel a lot of Liverpool supporters are fooling themselves into thinking Alonso has some desire to return to the club.
I remember hearing back in Rafa's time that the reason Rafa turned on him was that he found out Alonso was working behind the clubs back to get a move to Real Madrid, his first love, I'm sure the Eds can confirm or debunk that.
Alonso is a Spanish national and it's always going to be on his list to manage RM.
Amorim or Lijnders I feel will be the next manager. I can't see it being Nagelsmann as he won't be available until after the Euros and that would be nuts.

{Ed001's Note - Rafa turned on him because he missed a match to be at the birth of his child, nothing to do with him engineering a move to Madrid. By the way, his kids are reds and he regularly used to come back over, while at both Madrid and Bayern, to watch Liverpool play at Anfield and he has publicly stated a desire to manage Liverpool.}

4.) 28 Feb 2024 23:38:56
I ve heard a few interviews before and I do get a sense that Real Madrid is his first love. Unfortunately.

But they have a manager. I always got the sense that we were his second love. Ahead of Bayern. I hope it plays out that we get him in. He definitely stated a desire to manage Liverpool one day. Hopefully that time will come this Summer.

5.) 29 Feb 2024 01:42:57
If Klopp wins the treble or even a double, would you want to come straight in after him? Sure as a manager you back yourself but the shoes become even bigger to fill. Esp if Alonso doesn’t win the bundesliga.

6.) 29 Feb 2024 09:32:51
Yesterday TT had an article claiming an in-the-know source (i. e. a random German footballers 'feeling') says Alonso won't go to Liverpool next to an article entitled 'Next Liverpool manager: Comparing Xabi Alonso’s superb Bundesliga record with Jurgen Klopp’s'. They are covering all their bases and statistically some of them will be accurate!

As a side note they are also pushing a story about Mo having already signed a contract to play in Saudi next season.

7.) 29 Feb 2024 11:11:29
Who reads Teamtalk?

8.) 29 Feb 2024 11:12:31
Old bloke down the pub, any pub, knows more about transfers than TeamTalk.

9.) 29 Feb 2024 12:24:21
I remember the old TeamTalk way back in the late 90s/ early 00s. I am sure I posted on that forum they had a few times.

10.) 29 Feb 2024 14:32:05
Ah Yes good old TeamTalk. more like $hitetalk!

Weren't they on tv teletext in the 1990's which mouth watering tantalising headlines/ rumours (*cough* lies) about your club followed by that all important premium rate number of 60p a minute.

Utter garbage is Team Talk on a par with Duncan Oldham.

11.) 29 Feb 2024 16:26:39
If the rumour that Alonso is keen to take over from Ancelotti in 2026 is true why should we even consider him as our next manager only for him to walk away as soon as Madrid come calling.

12.) 29 Feb 2024 20:11:42
Think about it.

Why would he hang his hat on Madrid in 2 years time? What happens if he loses half of his Leverkusen team at the end of this season then has a couple of poor seasons? Would Madrid still want him?

In life you have to take the opportunity when it presents itself and this might be the only time he’s ever offered the Liverpool job. He might never be offered the Madrid job depending on how his career goes.

He’d be very silly to dismiss this opportunity and wait for something that might never come.

I’m not saying he’s definitely coming to Liverpool but I’d think there’s a fair chance his head will be turned, then it’s down to us to persuade him to sign on the dotted line.

13.) 01 Mar 2024 11:15:55
I stopped reading Teamtalk when the infamous BB said Zidane was signing for Liverpool because Houllier was his god-father!

28 Jan 2024 20:31:05
Hi Ed's is there any truth in us expressing an interest in Bournemouths Richard Hughes for Sporting Director role?

Jones red

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of an approach.}

1.) 29 Jan 2024 10:54:43
An interesting link. A former Scotland and Portsmouth player, spent part of his childhood in Milan, Italy and started out as a youth player at Atalanta before moving to Arsenal. He played out most of his career at Bournemouth and Portsmouth as a DM.

He scored the winning goal against us for Portsmouth in an FA Cup tie in 2004. He was also headbutted by Ronaldo, which led to a red card.

He's been at Bournemouth since the Eddie Howe days - presumably involved in Michael Edwards' (who was also chief analyst at Portsmouth at one point) magic trick of selling Jordan Ibe, Brad Smith and Dominic Solanke for hefty fees.

Couldn't tell you whether he has the chops to be Sporting Director of Liverpool but you never know.

2.) 29 Jan 2024 19:12:44
Data from the interweb?

23 Jan 2024 07:26:23
Hi Ed's are any clubs showing interest in loaning Ramsey from us as yet?

Jones red

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware but someone will be looking at offers.}

1.) 23 Jan 2024 09:09:22
Hello Ed, do you know any interest in our 1st team player from other team? Apart from Salah and the usual Saudi interest.

{Ed002's Note - The summer will see departures and additions.}

2.) 23 Jan 2024 09:46:25
Love that response Ed!

You are sounding like a Michael Owen special “ultimately it’s a game of two halves”.

3.) 23 Jan 2024 12:35:02
Thanks Ed. Do you know who is showing interest in Phillips.

{Ed002's Note - Nat Phillips (CB) Time to move on come the summer - but will help with the HG problem Liverpool have now created for themselves for the rest of the season so a move seems unlikely.}

4.) 23 Jan 2024 13:11:26

Musilowski looks to be leaving also. Shame it didn’t pan out as I think his contract expires this summer. Look really promising at one point, but doesn’t seem to have kicked since his cameo in the first team.

Do you know if it’s Leeds or Birmingham who are taking him.

{Ed002's Note - Birmingham want a loan if he will sign an extension.}

5.) 23 Jan 2024 21:28:01
I read Leeds could take both Ramsay and Musialowski.

6.) 23 Jan 2024 21:50:44
Be good if Musilowski extends and the both go there and get games. I still think there’s a player there, and he’s knuckled down this season. Hope he gets a goos Run of games and then see how he does. Definitely needs a loan to get more experience.

13 Jan 2024 23:35:43
Hi Ed's are there any clubs as yet looking to take Ramsey on loan for remainder of the season? Understand he has only just got back, but is any clubs looking to take him?

Jones red

{Ed002's Note - I don't know I am afraid. He was not getting the opportunities he needed on loan so the club will look to another solution.}

12 Dec 2023 20:47:49
Ed's just wondering do we hold any interest in Florian Wirtz of Leverkusen seems to have recovered from his injury and is looking good.

Jones red

{Ed002's Note - Florian Wirtz (AM/F) Arrived as a replacement for Havertz and made an immediate impact with admirers in Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Bayern Munich all sending scouts. Newcastle have a very experienced third party continuing scouting players in Germany for them and have also looked at Wirtz. He signed a new long-term contract in 2022 but has struggled to for a long while due to serious injury. He is now recovered. Newcastle remain keen if he could prove his fitness. Both Bayern Munich and Manchester City are continuing their interest and Chelsea have him on a list of possible AM options and should not be discounted. Liverpool have not made any offer for the player regardless of what the supporters think. Expect him to stay in the summer unless an offer of more than €100M is made and then it will be up to the player.}

1.) 13 Dec 2023 13:47:35
Id imagine most players will think twice before joining the mess that is Chelsea. I guess the financial rewards are huge but its a mess.

2.) 13 Dec 2023 14:15:26
Really hope Florian Wirtz can join us. I really do see he has that Liverpool DNA.

3.) 13 Dec 2023 15:55:30
Wirtz is right footed, primarily plays on the left side when he's in the attack, so I'm unsure how people are pegging him as a Salah replacement. Seems more fit to be a Diaz replacement if both he and Salah were to move on next summer. With that said, I don't think we have reason to believe Diaz is moving on next summer.

4.) 13 Dec 2023 15t5:53:54
Can only see Bayern for him tbh. City after thatMy McDonald's App

5.) 15 Dec 2023 05:46:47
Ed02 was there any truth to the speculation linking Diaz w a move to Saudi?

{Ed002's Note - It sounds like news from last summer.
Luis Diaz (LW) Could be surplus. His agent already has one player in the Saudi league and has been offering another high profile player he has - so he may well be looking at Diaz as well given Liverpool are well stocked in the position. Al-Hillal may offer a solution. Liverpool will likely resist a deal but could look to a deal with Barcelona if they are serious about Raphina.}

Did Phillips actually go out on loan or did he stay. I. Sure I seen he was loaned to someone the other day but I can remember who it was now.

Also did Ramsey go on loan or stay?

Jones red

1.) 02 Feb 2024 01:46:04
Phillips and Ramsay joined Cardiff and Bolton respectively.

2.) 02 Feb 2024 05:01:26
Anyway, I got intrigued on the players we have out on loan, especially after the changes in the Jan window. So, if anyone is interested, this is the list that I gathered. Some parts may be wrong though so feel free to correct it if it is.

Fabio Carvalho – Hull
Tyler Morton – Hull
Billy Koumetio - Blackburn
Nat Phillips - Cardiff
Owen Beck - Dundee
Luke Chambers – Wigan
Calvin Ramsay – Bolton
Harvey Davies – Crewe
James Balagizi - Kilmarnock
Marcelo Pitaluga – St Patrick’s Athletic
Rhys Williams – Port Vale (Injured back, back at Kirkby)
Dominic Corness – Yverdon
Adam Lewis – Newport County
James Norris – Tranmere
Luca Stephenson – Barrow
Luke Hewitson - Stalybridge Celtic
Jakub Ojrzynski – Den Bosch
Anderson Arroyo – Burgos
Vitezslav Jaros – Sturm Graz.

3.) 02 Feb 2024 07:51:11
Cheers drac.

4.) 02 Feb 2024 09:28:00
Drac, now that's a lot.

5.) 02 Feb 2024 11:53:44
Blimey Dracred is there anyone left at the training ground?

6.) 02 Feb 2024 13:13:26
Absolutely spot on Dracred, but don't forget Sepp Van Den Berg at Mainz. Including Rhys Williams, that's a nice round 20.

7.) 02 Feb 2024 15:38:14
Add to the list our young training goalkeeper, Reece Trueman who joined Colwyn Bay on loan at lunchtime to-day. That's 21!

15 Dec 2023 23:22:10
What's everyone's feelings on the new CL format for next season?

Personally I don't understand why they have changed it.

Jones red

1.) 16 Dec 2023 03:02:54
Or they lose teams to Super league ???.

2.) 16 Dec 2023 03:06:45
Confusing. But will watch of course lol.

3.) 16 Dec 2023 06:29:28
It’s just a horse rubbish way to make sure they can fiddle the knockouts to have the big teams for maximum commercial gains.

4.) 16 Dec 2023 08:09:58
Why fix something which isn't broken.

5.) 16 Dec 2023 08:49:45
At first glance, it seems designed to make sure as few smaller teams get through the league phase as possible. In the group format, if a small team won against a big team, they had a chance at sneaking through, but now they have to play a handful of different big teams, they have less chance in my opinion.

6.) 16 Dec 2023 09:45:25

7.) 16 Dec 2023 10:13:35
OP, it's the Super League format that the top 6 wanted to join that everyine got all crazy about last year or so. Notice that nobody in the media like the "Voice of the People" (Neville) on Sky is talking about it. Why? Cos Sky and TNT have broadcasting rights.

8.) 16 Dec 2023 12:13:26
It's money.

Same reason they changed it from a straight knockout competition with only the league title winners, to a free for all, that statistically has the big teams in and favours them getting through to the knockout stages, because statistically, they will win more of the 6 matches tha minnows.

9.) 17 Dec 2023 13:03:08
@Madmax, it is broken though. The title of the competition is the Champions League. Which European countries were Arsenal, Newcastle or United (??) champions of? The competition is about money. They will generate more money next season therefore it’ll be better.

14 Aug 2023 09:49:11
I can't believe all the panic on here after Caicedo choosing another team over us. They're still over two weeks of the window left, and the factor people should be focusing on is if the right player is there, we are willing to spend big to get them.

Yes Caicedo is a good player and would have improved us, but there still an abundance of players out there that will have the same impact when we sign them. It's become really depressing reading this site of late. Before Friday a majority of posting were moaning we were looking at bringing in Lavia because he wasn't any good (which I disagree with) and we should be aiming higher. Then we bid a British record for Caicedo and because he has messed us around it's the clubs fault again.

We are a football club these thing happen constantly sometimes widely reported and other times never even known about. Who's to say we won't end the window with a Luis or Tchouameni along with say a Gravenberch and Ignacio. Even if it's not these players I'm sure who we sign will also bring quality to the team.

Jones red

1.) 14 Aug 2023 10:15:01
I don't think the panic has anything to do with Caicedo. The concern is that a well-run club has turned into a dysfunctional one in 18 months, with the performances also mirroring this.

2.) 14 Aug 2023 10:06:56
absolutely agree. To all the FSG and Klop out brigade perhaps we would be better off if we had owners like Hicks and Gillette with a manager like Hodgson. Oh I remember, that worked well.
We are a well run club and we are lucky that we have the owners and manager that are in place currently.

3.) 14 Aug 2023 10:16:13
No the panic is because we did a full season of no midfielders and a dodgy defence

And we’re starting another season the exact same.

4.) 14 Aug 2023 10:16:49
Totally agree …. We need to forget about players who don’t want to come to Liverpool and concentrate on players who do . There’s plenty of options who are every bit as good as Caicado and Lavia.
I trust we’ll find the right ones …. As we did with MacAllister and Szobozlai.
Onwards and upwards .

5.) 14 Aug 2023 10:21:08
What a lot of us find disappointing, is we hummed and harred about paying 50 mill for Lavia, and now if we want him we will have to pay 55 mill. I just hope there is someone out there who is a decent CM and wants to play for us, otherwise on yesterday's showing we will struggle.

6.) 14 Aug 2023 10:21:20
You are spot on, OP; but I can't believe Jones is telling us "don't panic, don't panic! " ?.

7.) 14 Aug 2023 10:28:17
Well after all that talk of how good we are at negotiating and Lavia isn’t worth 50 mill we’ve only gone and offered 60 mill for him.

Dianne Abbott must be leading our negotiations.

8.) 14 Aug 2023 10:37:36
This daily continuation of Lavia/ Caceado is so dull. Please move on this has been talked to death!

9.) 14 Aug 2023 11:09:32
Is that because of Chelsea bidding for Lavia though, JK23?

10.) 14 Aug 2023 11:19:49
Pearljam scroll past if the content is not to your taste. Sick of the post police telling people what they can and can't talk about.

11.) 14 Aug 2023 11:25:12
Rigsby it looks like we’ve forced our own hand.

We could have had him for 50 mill weeks ago but we were told the club doesn’t believe he is worth that much.

Now it’ll cost us 10 mill extra and that’s if he even chooses us after all the messing about.

12.) 14 Aug 2023 11:49:29
You're ignoring the fact that Chelsea wanted him and bid more for him than we did, JK23.
Southampton wanting £50m for him doesn't mean they have to sell him for £50m. This is not just about Liverpool, Southampton and Lavia.
And who told you that the club doesn't believe he is worth £50m?
Someone on here?

13.) 14 Aug 2023 12:17:19
whoever is responsible for singing players gave Klopp 10 midfielders and a full defense minus a reliable back-up RB. I'd say that is plenty of support.

14.) 14 Aug 2023 12:19:52
Rigsby we made 3 offers below 50 mill well on advance of Chelsea making their offer.

The club doesn’t believe he is worth 50 mill was the narrative on here.

I just think if we just put in the 50 mill bid weeks ago then we would have had Lavia in pre season and available for yesterday.

15.) 14 Aug 2023 13:18:05
JK, the narrative on here counts for very little though.
We might have got Lavia for £50m weeks ago but that would be dependent on interest from other clubs, too. We know that Chelsea have bid more than that. We could be paying more because Chelsea also want him and not just because we offered less than the asking price.
Again, it's not just about Liverpool, Southampton and Lavia.

16.) 14 Aug 2023 13:44:57
Pelican has a point. I wouldn't go as far as to say the club is dysfunctional in the last 18 months, but I would say that certain things have been chaotic and leave you scratching your head; especially the priorities in purchases of players. I value Nunez and Gakpo, so that's not what I'm questioning. Rather that midfielders weren't brought in before. I don't buy the argument that none were out there suiting us, because there seems to be quite a few now given the offers we've made. And there always are every season.

Somehow it seems the club is always caught by surprise, by one thing or another, and then has to scramble. 3 years ago it was not having CBs, last year it was inadequate midfielders and this summer Henderson and Fabinho suddenly left and once again the club is reeling and scrambling.

We need 3 more players at least before the window shuts. I wonder if we'll even get close to filling in the gaps that are blaringly apparent.

17.) 14 Aug 2023 13:52:53
A dysfunctional club? Blimey! ?
Maybe we're too ambitious with our targets. An interest in Tchouameni, bids for Valverde and Caceido when we should be looking at more realistic targets?
Arthur Melo, anyone?

03 Aug 2023 17:27:48
Any truth in us bidding for Veiga?

Jones red

1.) 03 Aug 2023 19:52:38
People putting 2 + 2 together and getting 5 because Rafa is in charge of Celta Vigo I reckon.

2.) 03 Aug 2023 20:01:24
Talk about buying him and loaning him back for a season. probably bull but you never know mate. We need players for the here and now. not next season.

3.) 03 Aug 2023 20:05:34
No, because I read a report and asked if there was any truth in it. £25 million bid made reportedly.

4.) 03 Aug 2023 20:40:22
Jones I would really hope we are not spending time, energy and money on other attacking options right now. Not saying you’re wrong, saying I’d be very disappointed.

31 Jul 2023 12:48:27
Ed 01 if you're about. just asking but could you see us moving for Gvardiol with the funds we have acquired through both Henderson and Fabinho sales, which were totally unexpected at the beginning of pre season.

I know I'm clinging to hope but £52 million out of the blue surely gives us the opportunity at least make contact regarding him., and see what terms would be acceptable to RBL.

Jones red

{Ed001's Note - I wish but no.}

1.) 31 Jul 2023 13:27:45
Ed01, I think we can get or make a real play for Gvardiol if some of the conditions I wil mention come thru. So hear me out.

Gvardiol not going to City gives us an opportunity to go get him. This is cos IF we sell Salah to the Saudis on a big fee with one year left on his deal (cos they will come for him, IMO) along with Kellerher (cos at some point, we're going to have to let him go to raise funds for transfers in general), that would give us the funds (90m to 100m) we need to go for him w/ o evn touching whatever transfer kitty we will have CL or not.

Also, we would have cleared Matip's and Salah's wages off the books so the wage bill is even lowered a lot more than this season so that won't be a prob. Most importantly, Gvardiol would be perfect for this new inverted system (don't like it, peronally) to a T cos he can play LCB in a back 3, a back 4 and LB. Ticks ALL the boxes regardless of system, IMO.

This is an easy path should we really want Gvardiol and we all know he has been "tapping" us up for months now, lol. What do you think?

{Ed001's Note - I think you are dreaming. Sorry. I just don't see it happening, no matter how much I want us to sign Gvardiol.}

2.) 31 Jul 2023 14:25:54
Our wage bill really keeps some of our fans up at night.

3.) 31 Jul 2023 14:46:55
Where does Salah come in to all of this, by the way? I don’t care how good the best centre-back is, Salah is better and more important to a team. Trading Salah for Gvardiol would be a move only someone with an IQ of below 30 would make.

{Ed025's Note - most liverpool fans come into that category Lowel.. :)

4.) 31 Jul 2023 15:26:29
@LoweLFC, thanks for the insult. Duly appreciated. All I put out was a scenario based on actual possibilities cos regardless of what you think an LFC fan's IQ is for giving hypothetical scenarios, us selling Salah to the Saudis should a deal be seen as worth it (esp. since we are stacked up top), is a strong possibility with one year left on his deal and if he won't sign a new one. A dream, I know but not out of the realm of possibility cos the Saudis have actually said they will come for him next season, I read somewhere.

Now rather than resort to childish, pathetic name-calling, you could just read the post carefully where you will realize that is is just a hypothetical yet not impossible and offer your disagreement by using actual arguments rather than the poor excuse of a retort you provided. Peace and Love.

5.) 31 Jul 2023 15:29:47
Goals win games loving the fact we’ve scored 4 in each pre season game so far
Up top we are sorted
Defensively we need help .

6.) 31 Jul 2023 15:27:26
Ed01, I know. A dream indeed but not one out of the realm of possibility should all things I mentioned come together. Just saying.

{Ed001's Note - yes but all of those things you mentioned are not going to happen are they? So it is out of the realm of possibility.}

7.) 31 Jul 2023 15:51:33
I don't understand what IQ means Ed25. Am I in that category then? ?.

{Ed025's Note - i think it stands for Immediately Quick as in tranfrers GHIAT, so yes mate you qualify.. :)

8.) 31 Jul 2023 16:32:01
So we'll sell salah because we are well stocked up top to buy a centre back. been drinking oil.

9.) 31 Jul 2023 16:53:09
Ed001, is it purely financial why we are not going for him? Or does the club not think he’s a good fit?
Because the lad seems to want us to go for him, or at least he did.

10.) 31 Jul 2023 17:07:11
@Magico1234, read the post very carefully and address the actualpoints I actually made rather than summing my whole scennitpicking a single point without providing the context in which I provided it then maybe, it will make sense and maybe you'll find that the drinking problem you are projecting is elsewhere.

11.) 31 Jul 2023 17:13:35
Has Salah a year only left on his contract?‍♂️?‍♂️.

12.) 31 Jul 2023 17:15:12
1985mikey1985, I think the club rate him and would like to sign him cos we inquired about him this summer. However as you are alluding to, we ain't go that type of money (90m plus, per reports) hanging around right now, IMO.

Hence, my scenario that if Salah won't sign a new deal after next season then, why should we keep him and not sell him to generate the funds that would be necessary to help fund Gvardiol or any other top prospect needed to accelerate the rebuild I think we will still be in even after next season? You can add Kellerher in there, as well (different situation) .

I agree that the club won't do this BUT we cannot say that there is no way of doing it. After all whether Salah is sold or not is what the club can actually control.

13.) 31 Jul 2023 18:07:32
I do think this season coming will be salahs last at Liverpool as I can’t see a scenario where the Saudis don’t go for the most iconic Muslim player ever . They are probably in his agents ear now .

Just enjoy the man while he’s here and if we sell him or he leaves on a free I really don’t care as I’ve just enjoyed this lad in a red shirt so much .

14.) 31 Jul 2023 19:07:17
Oli is right about one thing.

Salah may be the subject of a bid from Saudi.

Its probable as opposed to possible.

After that who knows?

15.) 31 Jul 2023 19:39:28
Am I right in hearing that they’ve bid over £100m for Oshimen and £1m a week wages ?

I Wonder how long it’ll last for. Is Saudi Arabia in it for the long haul? Or Isit a flash in the wok like the Chinese super league.

16.) 31 Jul 2023 19:58:58
I'm sure Salah signed a 3 year deal last season?

Ed001, is it purely financial why we are not going for him? Or does the club not think he’s a good fit?
Because the lad seems to want us to go for him, or at least he did.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, sorry. I would assume it is finances, but Klopp does like other players for that position, so it could even be a bit of both.}

So there's someone out there who has a proven history of scoring 23 goals minimum and 44 goals maximum per season over the last 5 seasons (add the assists later), almost never misses a game or is injured, and will accept a lower salary than 350K per week in the EPL. Someone tell me who?

Could look to another loan in the prem then assess the season after.

Be good if Musilowski extends and the both go there and get games. I still think there’s a player there, and he’s knuckled down this season. Hope he gets a goos Run of games and then see how he does. Definitely needs a loan to get more experience.

Musilowski looks to be leaving also. Shame it didn’t pan out as I think his contract expires this summer. Look really promising at one point, but doesn’t seem to have kicked since his cameo in the first team.

Do you know if it’s Leeds or Birmingham who are taking him.

{Ed002's Note - Birmingham want a loan if he will sign an extension.}

Thanks Ed. Do you know who is showing interest in Phillips.

{Ed002's Note - Nat Phillips (CB) Time to move on come the summer - but will help with the HG problem Liverpool have now created for themselves for the rest of the season so a move seems unlikely.}

I can see what people are saying as we have seen some players stay too long and leave for nominal fees or for free even. I think there will be a bid in the summer from the Saudi league definitely but for how much who knows. And by how much I mean transfer fee and contract offer.

If we won the title would he think of leaving on a high? It’s far too early to say either way.

Davies of Bayern would have been perfect for LB, but sadly he had no interest in us.
