Oliver Bond saying Ruben Neves in Liverpool today. Unsure how reliable he is. Eds i trust you guys, any truth or potential truth in it? Thanks in advance.

Coco9

{Ed001's Note - the question is, where is Mendes? Because Neves is not going to be signing anywhere just because he is there without Uncle Jorge to tell him what and where to sign. The last I heard we had no interest in Neves for this summer and Mendes wanted him to play a season in the Prem for Wolves to boost his price. Oh and the player wanted to stay one more season himself.}

1.) 30 Apr 2018 16:02:59
Pity but just as i expected Ed001. that's why asked you guys. Thanks for swift response mate.

{Ed001's Note - as far as I can find out right now, nothing is happening over transfers until after Wednesday night. At the earliest. I really don't expect Neves to go anywhere this summer though.}

2.) 30 Apr 2018 16:03:43
Maybe he's in Liverpool for work permit related issues at the immigration office?

3.) 30 Apr 2018 16:40:21
He’s Portuguese shouldn’t need a work permit.

4.) 30 Apr 2018 16:55:06
Ed seeing as can leaving we will be missing a physical presence in midfield which I think is important, what would be the chances of getting loftus cheek I think he is a quality player what's your thoughts on him as a player an availability.

{Ed001's Note - about the same chance as there is of Coutinho returning in the summer. He is lazy, not a Klopp player at all. Very talented but doesn't do running.}

5.) 30 Apr 2018 17:49:12
He's Portuguese and doesn't require a visa to work in the UK so he won't be in Liverpool for that reason.

6.) 30 Apr 2018 18:03:18
Ed 1 what do you think of neves would he suit us? Do any of you look at the wolves page there more deluded than us some of the names they mention for signing is crazy 😂😂.

{Ed001's Note - he has been absolutely outstanding in the Championship, way above the level of anyone else. I think he would be a very good signing for any team in the Prem.}

7.) 30 Apr 2018 19:05:48
Thanks. I had no idea about the visa requirements.

8.) 30 Apr 2018 19:16:29
Thanks ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

9.) 30 Apr 2018 20:40:11
Heard Neves was getting a flight to his home town of Porto, you can fly direct from Liverpool, can't see him going anywhere after just one season at Wolves .

10.) 01 May 2018 01:43:26
He'll stop at Wolves and should fitness be ok and his form continue next summer some big team will snap him up. At only 21 years old to be playing like he is playing is pretty remarkable, the lad is going places, hopefully to Liverpool next season. I'd love it if we put in a big bid for him, he's ready for top level already, Neves, Keita, Hendo/ Ceballos, I'd be chuft with that, to say the least.

11.) 01 May 2018 09:59:49
My opinion is we will do what we did with VDV, not take a gamble at 10m and then buy him for 75m once he has proven himself at a smaller Prem league team.

12.) 01 May 2018 18:50:00
Kwhizz-Neves will cost a lot more than 10m!

13.) 01 May 2018 19:34:23
Cobra. yes mate, I was just using VDV as an example, we could have bought him from Celtic for 10m but waited, Neves may cost his next club 20-25m but the club after that will pay a lot more.

Well said Ed001. Someone finally said it. Am not one to hammer our players. But this lad was lazy you could see it when he played. I watched him several times for u23s and lads like Curtis Jones Adam Lewis etc were actually running past him to close opposition down. Yes the club bought him obviously to early and didn't help. But he had what 3,4 loans and failed in most of them. He was also offered several chances to go restart his career and choose to sit on his contract not playing football. I hope as he matures in age he will step up and use his ability and actually put his full effort in.

{Ed001's Note - I think he is going to be one of those who never achieves what he should have to be honest.}

Bobby will start, he needs run of games to get sharpness back. I can see him scoring tomorrow, the man is a class act and 1st and foremost a team player. I like the idea of Sturridge being an impact sub.

Isn't he the lad we currently have on trial with 1 of the youth teams?

Watch the 1st half again properly. You will see he won almost every 2nd ball or loose ball and recycled it well. Also made several good tackles and won a lot of headers taking the pressure of the back 4. Some fans expect every player on the pitch to be like Mbappe messi salah etc. Without the matic fabinho kante type players those star players wouldn't get same freedom to show off attacking talent open you're eye's watch the whole game not just flashy bits and goalscorers. a lot more to it than that!

With France getting to the final. I think it gives us a few weeks to assess it, as with Klopp given players 3 weeks off. Fekir wouldn't join us in training till into August regardless. As the window nears the end Lyon if want to sell may get very nervous and consider the restructuring of the deal (if there is truth in that) I think once Alisson deal is concluded. I think the priority will be to shift 5 or 6 players out the way. Exciting times.

Actually thought he along with mane was only player to be positive especially 2nd half. He had guts to pick up the ball and actually run at them and try something different to open them up. And by doing so and being brave you at times will lose the ball but give him credit for not just playing safe slow passes which is becoming a concern.

If were saying McGuire isn't a ref. Then am confused! Mane is away they couldn't catch him on a level start all game yet he was away to sprint into a 3 4 yards head start. Also worth noting for anyone who says he was going wide. Is as klopp said if you look at wider angle salah is away down the right so chances are mane would square it anyway. I feel for officials as same with offside rule. We have made them so difficult and open to error. Like wolves winner v Leicester few weeks ago. Jota is miles off. Then without defence ever getting close to goal side of him, cause of his massively offside position he scores a tap in from pass from teammate who was onside! You wonder why teams don't try leaving a player miles offside on purpose. Very confusing.

Wjnaldum are you serious?! He is so underrated and just because he doesn't score lots or do fancy flicks he gets overlooked. In my eyes he and now fabinho are our 1st 2 picks in central midfield. And his work rate and attitude is top class.

Before I start I am not defending him. But think back to last year old Trafford. Young gets turned by salah who is away to latch on to a clipped pass in box. Young grabs his shirt pulls him back, salah stayed on his feet and was unable to get to the pass. He turns to ref who turns it down. Then commentators, pundits, fans. All say if he goes down it's a penalty but ref hasn't given it as he didn't go down! Now agreed v Newcastle he gets shirt tugged not enough to go down but still pulled. He goes down ref gives the penalty. So what are we teaching players? If you try to be honest and are fouled the defender gains an advantage and you don't. Yet if you go down with minimal contact like salah, Young, kane, ali, sterling and numerous others. You are often rewarded! As a former semi professional striker I had this argument so many times with refs after I'd been clipped or pulled and tried to stay up and by time got to ball to shot I was off balance or fell over yet no penalty and told I hadn't went down straight away. So by trying to stay up I was punished. Very difficult problem and both players and refs don't help it. Sorry for long winded post.

Always like Zaha. Yes he has bits to game that could be improved on no doubt. But can you imagine if klopp and staff worked their magic with him. And playing with Salah firmino fabinho etc around him! Unfortunately Palace know he can be unplayable on his day and English. So the fee would be upwards of £50m as Ed0333 mentioned.
