Oliver Bond saying Ruben Neves in Liverpool today. Unsure how reliable he is. Eds i trust you guys, any truth or potential truth in it? Thanks in advance.

Coco9

{Ed001's Note - the question is, where is Mendes? Because Neves is not going to be signing anywhere just because he is there without Uncle Jorge to tell him what and where to sign. The last I heard we had no interest in Neves for this summer and Mendes wanted him to play a season in the Prem for Wolves to boost his price. Oh and the player wanted to stay one more season himself.}

1.) 30 Apr 2018 16:02:59
Pity but just as i expected Ed001. that's why asked you guys. Thanks for swift response mate.

{Ed001's Note - as far as I can find out right now, nothing is happening over transfers until after Wednesday night. At the earliest. I really don't expect Neves to go anywhere this summer though.}

2.) 30 Apr 2018 16:03:43
Maybe he's in Liverpool for work permit related issues at the immigration office?

3.) 30 Apr 2018 16:40:21
He’s Portuguese shouldn’t need a work permit.

4.) 30 Apr 2018 16:55:06
Ed seeing as can leaving we will be missing a physical presence in midfield which I think is important, what would be the chances of getting loftus cheek I think he is a quality player what's your thoughts on him as a player an availability.

{Ed001's Note - about the same chance as there is of Coutinho returning in the summer. He is lazy, not a Klopp player at all. Very talented but doesn't do running.}

5.) 30 Apr 2018 17:49:12
He's Portuguese and doesn't require a visa to work in the UK so he won't be in Liverpool for that reason.

6.) 30 Apr 2018 18:03:18
Ed 1 what do you think of neves would he suit us? Do any of you look at the wolves page there more deluded than us some of the names they mention for signing is crazy 😂😂.

{Ed001's Note - he has been absolutely outstanding in the Championship, way above the level of anyone else. I think he would be a very good signing for any team in the Prem.}

7.) 30 Apr 2018 19:05:48
Thanks. I had no idea about the visa requirements.

8.) 30 Apr 2018 19:16:29
Thanks ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

9.) 30 Apr 2018 20:40:11
Heard Neves was getting a flight to his home town of Porto, you can fly direct from Liverpool, can't see him going anywhere after just one season at Wolves .

10.) 01 May 2018 01:43:26
He'll stop at Wolves and should fitness be ok and his form continue next summer some big team will snap him up. At only 21 years old to be playing like he is playing is pretty remarkable, the lad is going places, hopefully to Liverpool next season. I'd love it if we put in a big bid for him, he's ready for top level already, Neves, Keita, Hendo/ Ceballos, I'd be chuft with that, to say the least.

11.) 01 May 2018 09:59:49
My opinion is we will do what we did with VDV, not take a gamble at 10m and then buy him for 75m once he has proven himself at a smaller Prem league team.

12.) 01 May 2018 18:50:00
Kwhizz-Neves will cost a lot more than 10m!

13.) 01 May 2018 19:34:23
Cobra. yes mate, I was just using VDV as an example, we could have bought him from Celtic for 10m but waited, Neves may cost his next club 20-25m but the club after that will pay a lot more.

Ed002 may I ask, do you think Klopp and Liverpool deserve credit for the fact they never bought any first team players in the summer (Adrian free apart) and moved on 6 or 7 in the process. Very bold decision really, when all your rivals are spending and adding to their already big squads? My personal opinion was, I was happy with the squad, but would have liked to have added a versatile attacking player who could cover 3 or 4 positions. And by that, not a £60-70m one.

Coco9

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have spent vast amount in previous windows and added what Klopp wanted to give a stable and successful side - and have broken all records for payments to agents. They moved on surplus players and kids, whilst promoting a couple of players. This is sort of don't mess with it if it is going well - and it works and this will be a fantastic opportunity to win the much desired PL title. Adrian has been a worthy addition. The youngsters are well thought of so no complaints there. Klopp says Lallana is imprortant and the club are looking to extend Milner. They have the option to bring back Grujic next summer if they can get a WP. So they should be in a position to tweak things going forward unless there are significant departures. If they had pushed for Maxwell Cornet or similar it would have made sense - but many of the fans expect Mbappe on the bench and £500M worth of rotation players.}

1.) 01 Oct 2019 19:52:23
I'm happy enough with our business over the summer but agree that I would have liked a versatile attack player to rotate with front 3. Its too soon to tell really but if when we win the league it will be seen as a stroke of genius!

2.) 01 Oct 2019 20:06:07
Hello Ed2, I hope you are well? where in the world are you at this moment of time? wherever it may be I hope you are doing ok.

Question please, Grujic, do you believe we can get a work permit for him or do you think he will soon be history at Liverpool?

{Ed002's Note - I arrived back in England from Israel on Sunday night and will be here for, I think, two weeks. A case will need to be made for Grujic and it would have to start with an apology for lying. But I expect the club will look to cash in.}

3.) 01 Oct 2019 20:36:23
I'm glad we didn't spend big in the summer because I haven't noticed any of the players everyone was clamouring for setting the world on fire yet. Pepe was a player we were supposedly linked with - £72m (allegedly) and looks quite poor sovfarcatvArsenal.

4.) 01 Oct 2019 21:12:41
I think the reason we didn't buy was because of the outstanding buying in previous windows. In the time Klopp has been here our buying of players has without any arguments been by a distance the best in the world. 95% of players bought have more than doubled in value and often quadruple their value.

The vast sums spent are still way way behind, City, Utd, Barcelona etc. Look at the mess Juve are in. We are doing great in many areas and more praise should be given. Still work to do on agent fees, loans, etc.

5.) 01 Oct 2019 21:26:16
£60 odd million net in four years is hardly anything in todays game. We have to be the best club in the world in the transfer market. So glad we won't be accused of buying the league when we win it.

6.) 01 Oct 2019 22:02:30
I seen somebody on here suggest we sell Salah and buy Pepe. Own up haha.

7.) 01 Oct 2019 22:58:42
Thanks for the update, Ed. Klopp already mentioned as much that we "had to pay the bills" hence, there would be no high-priced additions this season due to the high levels of spending we had done in prev. windows. In spite of that, we were still interested in the likes of Pepe and Cornet so we were still on the look out for players regardless. For me, I'm good with the decision the club made on this front and have been from day one.

{Ed002's Note - Pepe?}

8.) 02 Oct 2019 00:53:08
We have to be the best club in the world in the transfer market
======================================

I would repeat the same sentence and stop at the end of the word "World"

9.) 02 Oct 2019 00:44:35
We had a squad that had beaten Barcelona 4 0. I think sometimes people forget just what an unbelievable score that is. Both in attack and defence. From 3 0. Its Roy of the rovers stuff. It wasn't like the season before, when in the final all we had to call on was lallana. We have a big squad, and if we had signed a versatile attacker it would have limited origi's game time. Let's not forget what the lad has done for us. Won us the European cup.

Adrian has turned out to be a massive signing, so we did do business. Without karius and migs we were light. And I'm glad we have ads in the sticks, instead of two mentioned previously.
And everybody has been raving about Elliott, and fair play, the lad looks the bollox. So I don't think we have Anything to moan about. 7 out of 7. Top of the league.

We reds are used to moaning. It's been frustrating watching us this last 30 years. We have always looked 2 or 3 players short of challenging. And when we have challenged, the next season we lose our best players. Now the ship is stable, every game I've watched has been excellent. Not perfect of course, football never is 100%.
I don't think we have any players looking over the garden fence. Maybe Salah. But I'll be honest. I wouldn't mind if we sold him. He's too greedy, the boys have stopped giving him the ball so much. We'd get a shed load of money to buy a replacement, more of a team player. Firmino is my favourite CF now. His play around the box is class. He deserves players around him who are willing to play tik tak football.

I'm telling you, it's going to be hard to beat city. I want us to challenge for our European Cup, of course. But I wouldn't mind if we went out early and let us focus on the league. Let city go for that.

Firmino and van dijke have been out best players so far. But wjinaldum needs some praising. At Newcastle I wouldn't have believed he could play the role he does now. Just a brilliant footballer, with that dutch intelligence. So underestimated. Been immense so far.

10.) 02 Oct 2019 00:32:07
Excellent, detailed response as always Ed02. Can you explain further why Liverpool have paid record breaking agents fees. Why have they paid more than other clubs, and have the club now addressed the problem when dealing with agents in the future?
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - The club has paid more than £90M to agents and third parties over the past four years and in the last set of published figures (for 2018) £44M alone (next highest was £26M). The figures include the significant additional fees that were paid for van Dijk where after the illegal approach by Klopp all the leverage for negotiation had been lost. There were also significant additional costs related to another transfer and the manner in which it was conducted. The club paid well over the odds in the remaining transfers as well. The club are aware that their spending is out of hand in this respect.}

11.) 02 Oct 2019 11:11:23
So it's not so much the agents ripping liverpool off it's more liverpool paying for wrong doings.

12.) 02 Oct 2019 13:37:06
Thanks for the info ed2, enjoy your 2 weeks mate.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

13.) 02 Oct 2019 15:28:25
Ed02, were we not in for Nicholas Pepe this summer then? Cos that was the impression I got?

{Ed002's Note - No and I spent the summer explaining that to you all.

14.) 02 Oct 2019 15:56:39
Why is everyone jumping on Pepe? It's only been a month. We give LFC new players easily 6 months before we start tearing them apart, LOL.

15.) 02 Oct 2019 22:06:44
Robbie VVD and Firmino have not been our best players this season. (not just tonights game) . Firmino has been poor for last 4 games. Matip has been better than VVD and fabs has been far better over all games tham Firmino.

16.) 03 Oct 2019 04:05:42
Firmino has been brilliant! He was excellent against salzburg.

Redrebel1 not clinical? Correct me if I'm wrong. but doesn't he have the best or very close to stats this past season for chance conversion?! He was absolutely clinical in the games against us especially at Anfield with 2 exceptional finishes (1 ended up offside)

Not that we had a chance, I'm glad he didn't come. He's shown what's important to him and greed won! These multi millionaire's tweaking for an extra few million is absolutely disgusting! Totally lost touch with the real world these top stars! And don't even start me on the snake agents.

Anyone who watched Jones coming through knows he's very talented. He's done well when given the chance. Remember Rio saying last season, he was at England u21s training. And asked the players and coaches, who had surprised them and caught their eye. And he said something like. Almost everyone of them said Curtis Jones. He's been asked to play deeper in the 1st team after being a wide forward in the u23s. So obviously adjusting and learning that role also.

No disrespect intended. But I think, by now we know. That pretty much nobody including ed002 for all his knowledge and contacts. Knows much about what's going on behind the scenes with transfers at Liverpool. Fabinho and Minamino for example have been worked on and pretty much done by the time anyone has any clue about it.

Klopp would lose his sheep if he read something like this for sure! As Lamborini said one game at a time has got us to this position. And let's keep that mentality.

Ed025 as much as I think your great on here. My favourite Ed after Ed001 btw. i feel that's just a unnecessary attack on Klopp. The post was in reference to Pep manky spitting thing he does, he also sits it on the end of his tongue aswell. I've noticed it for a while now it's rank! Your rant has 0 context to the original post mate. ✌.

Coco9

{Ed025's Note - just venting mate. No big deal..

ND if klopps team did that every fanbase on social media and the media would hammer him! They've managed to make a bloody headline about us having a friendly after the Fulham game! No context to the fact that it will be the players that didn't feature against Fulham and youngsters like Mabaya etc. But twisted it about klopp moaning about fixtures. As we say in Scotland. Oh ma heed!

Of course he's going to be expensive! He could be a starter in our midfield for 10 years. And still be in his prime at 29 with a potential high resale value, still after 10 years service. Look at the price City paid for Grealish foe example who's around 6 years older than Bellingham.

On the contrary RedHerring. He's 6ft 2" and a strong powerful lad who's good in the air. So I feel teams might have to rethink the sitting deep approach if hopefully he was to score a few headers early in the season from the service from TAA and Robertson. Thus allowing more room for Salah etc. Always felt that was a slight weakness in our squad, fingers crossed He's that missing piece in turning some of those costly draws into wins????.

Love Mo and he's been absolutely amazing for us since day 1. But I'm finding myself getting very irritated by him recently. He's coming across as selfish and rather arrogant. Maybe I'm wrong and I'm doing him a disservice, but can't help how I feel about him recently. Be interesting to know what klopps thinking about recent events.
