As an ex red with no club was wondering if you know what's going on with Daniel sturridges career at the moment? Any interest in him at all from england?

{Ed002's Note - Daniel Sturridge (S) Benevento will be playing in Serie A next season and want to add DS after losing out on Andre Schurrle.}

1.) 06 Aug 2020 13:23:37
Thanks ed.

2.) 06 Aug 2020 18:12:09
All the best to him. Always liked Studge.

Barcelona should sign him. Surely he'll do better than Martin Braithwaite. I swear that Studge and Suarez are telepathic together.

3.) 07 Aug 2020 09:35:43
"Let's just hand over 20 million to Norwich"

In case anyone has been living under a rock for the last 5 months, a quick recap:

Clubs are bleeding money, are firing staff left and right, and struggling to pay salaries to their players. Many clubs are facing bankruptcy. Some well known clubs have put their entire squad up for sale.

This is not a drill. I repeat. This is not a drill.

4.) 07 Aug 2020 13:38:08
Seems you got the wrong thread, 67 mate.

Benevento would be a fun move for Studge and a nicer place to live.
He should score goals for them in Serie A, but mostly I just love their crest with the witch riding a broomstick. :)

12 Dec 2018 17:09:46
Matip out for 6 weeks with broken collar bone apparently.

Lovren and van djik need to stay fit then! i was actually really impressed with him last night too. hopefully trent and milner are okay.

1.) 12 Dec 2018 17:41:00
When did that happen? He played the full 90. we’re getting injuries at the wrong time.

2.) 12 Dec 2018 17:56:30
Testing times but I have confidence in Klopp to find the right fix. I’d love to see Fab have a game at RB, I know it’s not his preferred position but he plays it well enough for Brazil for me to want to have a look. Trent has the potent to be as flexible on the pitch as Millie so now could be his chance to fill some boots.

3.) 12 Dec 2018 18:47:04
I think it is to his credit he played for 90 minutes. Also he has played well in the last few games so will be a loss to the squad. Just hope Trent or Milner are fit.

4.) 12 Dec 2018 19:08:34
Wheres Klaven when you need him! :, (.

5.) 12 Dec 2018 18:47:04

6.) 12 Dec 2018 20:58:51
Do we have any of the u23s ready to step up if needs be? I don’t know enough about the players out side of the first team squad?

7.) 12 Dec 2018 21:51:54
I think Wijnaldum played cb last season?

8.) 12 Dec 2018 22:55:40
wouldn't be surprised of natty Phillips gets drafted in, klopp seemed to like him in pre season ed01 you think he could step up in a premier league game? Obvs not against United but the next game?

9.) 12 Dec 2018 22:59:41
What about Nat Phillips? he looked good in preseason.

10.) 12 Dec 2018 23:24:26
Kman, I think this happened right on the final whistle.

11.) 13 Dec 2018 00:11:38
Yeah Shents. It was his last aerial challenge with Koulibaly which was literally as the last whistle was going.

12.) 13 Dec 2018 00:16:23
So annoying when players that we wrote off start performing then they get injured, is it really then their fault when they go through those dead spells? Lallana, moreno, studge, matip.

13.) 13 Dec 2018 13:08:20
You have to feel for him, time on bench seemed to have elevated his game.

20 Jul 2016 10:42:09
Hi eds, hope you are well.

There are reports that atletico Madrid are interested in origi. Do you know if there is any truth to this? I hope it's nonsense I really like orogi. Has huge potential.

{Ed002's Note - He is certainly not first or second choice for them.}

1.) 20 Jul 2016 12:04:44
thanks for the reply ed, much appreciated.

lets hope they get their first or second choice.

2.) 20 Jul 2016 12:55:28
What about 3rd choice.

27 Jun 2016 13:51:29
afternoon eds thanks for all your time and effort. its much appreciated.

you have mentioned an interest in Bastien, is this Samuel Bastien? and hoping you could let us know who else is interested? I have tried the search function with no luck sadly

thanks eds.

{Ed002's Note - Anderlecht are keen to hold on to Samuel Bastien who has been on loan to Avellino but are aware of interest from a number of sides including Benfica (who have made an offer), PSV, Lille, Liverpool (Rodgers was keen on a deal right from the start of the season on the basis of youth scouting reports), Fiorentina and Genoa. Interest of Juventus has gone.}

1.) 27 Jun 2016 18:46:35
Thanks ed. Thought I would ask is it looks like we are definitely after a central midfielder.

Harvey elliot needs to start every game and take penalties until he scores next season.

Hes said he will get rid of the hair when he scores his first professional goal. He might only be 17 but it's for the greater good.

1.) 03 Aug 2020 09:57:38
Lol, I didn't know that. Lister in red dwarf 8 springs to mind. God that's a bold claim for a lad who generally starts 3 or 4 games a year.

On the other hand it shows his confidence in his ability. He's going to be a serious player I think. The little flashes we've seen, from a SEVENTEEN year old, is pretty remarkable.

2.) 03 Aug 2020 10:44:17
Agreed robbie, I'm looking forward to seeing more of the lad but at the same time we must not push him too hard yet, he's still a child and needs to learn a lot. So many kids have failed because they've been pushed far too early. I'm sure klopp will have it all under control though, I hope to see the lad a lot in pre season and cup games to begin with, gradually put him in. One day I have no doubt, he's going to be a special player, let's hope it's for us.

3.) 03 Aug 2020 10:50:44
I like his hair!

4.) 03 Aug 2020 12:01:36
I think finishing and shooting is the main thing he needs to develop. Everything else he seems vastly ahead of his age group although he of course needs to continue strengthening his strengths also. Strong finishing and he will become a star. sterling couldn't finish at his age also. Not dissing the kid but from the games I saw he is quite erratic in front of goal. He s so young. Plenty of time.

5.) 03 Aug 2020 12:40:13
I believe Voronin said the same but the barber's broom was untouched.

6.) 03 Aug 2020 16:46:29
Why can't he be like most good 17 year olds and listen to Mom and Dad and just get rid of that abomination of a mop?

02 Aug 2020 11:56:32
Am I the only one who thinks it's worth keeping hold of shaqiri? He can be a fantastic squad player when fit. and with his injuries he's had this year we aren't going to get a massive fee for him with money tight I'd rather spend the money elsewhere. Great technical ability and to me knowledge hasn't kicked up a fuss about not playing.

1.) 02 Aug 2020 12:11:19
He’s useful when he puts the effort in as we saw when he first joined but he soon reverted to his usual half arsed self, if Klopp can’t get the best out of him then I don’t know who will.

2.) 02 Aug 2020 12:14:31
His injuries are so extensive that we basically pay out a wage for him to not be fit, and when he is fit he clearly isn’t good enough for klopp to consider resting salah to play him every now and then. I’d much rather see Elliott and Minamino get the game time there.

3.) 02 Aug 2020 12:31:22
Waste of some serious ability with a football if he is not on the pitch, I would love him too play more he has shown in spurts he can provide a positive contribution like against united, everton, Barcelona at home . I would like too think he could be useful but relying on him too stay injury free is another story.

4.) 02 Aug 2020 12:31:30
Wasn't part of his injury hit season due to complications with his hair transplant .
Google up some images and his widows peaks have disappeared this yr🤔.

5.) 02 Aug 2020 12:39:47
Good on his day, too inconsistent and more importantly, too injury prone.

6.) 02 Aug 2020 14:09:27
Similar to how harry kewell was for us. Shame really but he needs selling. Replacing is a different conversation altogether. I'd have loved to see Wilson step up but I think its clear that's not going to happen.

7.) 02 Aug 2020 17:09:53
Yes, had a hair transplant and then had balance issues, which kept him out the team and really annoyed klopp, hence took him even longer to get back into contention. I'd get rid personally.

8.) 02 Aug 2020 17:52:16
Nope, Shaq is off and hopefully he can overcome his injuries and enjoy the rest of his career.

9.) 02 Aug 2020 23:32:17
Is that true? About the hair transplant.? That has to be one of the most ridiculous injury causes. Imagine missing out on this season because of your Barnet!

10.) 03 Aug 2020 15:15:22
I don't think he had many injuries before he arrived.
Given chance he may turn into a second season wonder.
I would love it if we keep him.

11.) 04 Aug 2020 14:57:55
Apparently so Ben. Caused balance issues which meant he couldn't play/ train properly. Never came out officially though. Guess that and lack of application/ other injuries have hampered his chances.

10 Jun 2020 14:13:09
I know I'm getting ahead if myself slightly here but any idea when next season will start. Our last game on the website is and of July.

{Ed002's Note - By September 12.}

1.) 11 Jun 2020 11:16:15
Thanks ed. Stay safe everyone!

09 Apr 2020 03:11:49
FSG have backed down from furlouging staff. They have come to the right decision in the end. However this isn't the first time they have reversed a decision, does everyone remember the tickets situation, they made a u turn then also. Clearly they don't know the values of the club and the fans. I for the first time in my life this week have been embarrassed to support liverpool. I never thought I would say that, I hope they have now learned from their mistakes and are going to be the owners we want invest in the best interests of the club. Klopp and the scouts know how to buy and I trust them. Let's hope they get the funds in the summer and we still win it.

Thanks to all the Ed's for the hard work and stay safe all. Love you all.

1.) 09 Apr 2020 09:10:15
Atleast they listened and made the required u turns. What's the problem? It's not embarrassing at all. It would've been if they didn't listen. We all make mistakes but because its a football club it's different and we hang them out to dry? come off it.

2.) 09 Apr 2020 11:10:45
It was embarrassing, Salah. No getting away from that. And it's not the first time our owners have made a PR gaffe. Like you say, they did the right thing by making a u turn, but it was embarassing for 24 hours.

3.) 09 Apr 2020 12:34:24
Tony Evans’ article on the matter in yesterday’s Independent was scathing.
The most surprising thing for me is that Peter Moore is from the city and I’d have thought if anyone would have been aware of how this was perceived it would have been him?

4.) 09 Apr 2020 12:52:50
Agree with you, Juicer. Not read the article, but I know Tony Evans is a top journalist.

5.) 10 Apr 2020 03:00:57
Juicer, what if Peter Moore is a "yes" man who was employed by pragmatists? I'd say don't expect too much from him so you're not too disappointed. I don't conflate past missteps with this most humanitarian one, but at least we can live with the shame of a mistake that only lasted a few days rather than what the other big premier league teams have done insisting on their decision and ignoring pleas from their fans.

6.) 10 Apr 2020 08:35:56
Agreed Noski. It was put right, that’s the main thing. I don’t know about Peter Moore at all but I’d have thought he’d have seen the flak coming?

09 Apr 2020 03:03:08
Ed001 in your opinion will liverpool win the league this year? As basic as I can make the question.

{Ed001's Note - no idea.}

1.) 09 Apr 2020 08:14:02
If people take heed and listen to the health officials and government and stay in this will all end sooner! Nobody wants to stay in when the weather is good it beggars can’t be choosers! If and when people get the msg and this stops football will resume if not the league will be void!

2.) 09 Apr 2020 08:35:36
Hi LFCSTE29, What is your opinion on what they will do mate? My opinion is that it will be voided over the coming weeks with Leeds and WBA prompted and no one relegated. CL places awarded but no champions announced. Everyone won’t agree but you only have to look at the numbers everyday on the news mate it will probably be over a 1000 deaths today. How can football start again in 6 weeks 8 weeks or 10 weeks? It can’t and won’t.

3.) 09 Apr 2020 09:58:14
Daretodream, I'll be surprised if they null/ expunged the season.
I think your right that they will likely draw a line with no relegation but this should have been the case all the way down the pyramid. But with voiding those under the conference I hope they revisit that decision, teams like Vauxhall had already 'won' the league and deserve promotion at least.

If you are going to promote leeds/ WBA then you should restructure all the leagues with more relegation places next season so they can revert back to how they are currently for 21/ 22.

My ideal for our plight is let us have our game with man city at the Etihad, because if we win there the title is mathematically ours. Obviously won't happen but can you imagine the size of the game if it did? man city know that any result stops us getting number 19 and gives our boys a chance to get what they deserve but we dare to dream!

4.) 09 Apr 2020 10:49:42
Jay dub this stay in doors is NOT going to end the pandemic sooner the reason we are implementing social distancing and staying in is to SLOW the spread of corona to allow the NHS to cope with the volume of people being admitted to hospital with the illness. think of it like it's not IF it's WHEN you get corona everyone will get it at some point but the nhs can't cope with the whole country getting it around the same time that's why these measures are in place not to stop to slow.

5.) 09 Apr 2020 12:19:02
Just keep it simple. Complete this season when it is safe to do so. then start the next season, probably with no cup games.
That season can then be completed in 19 weeks if needed.

6.) 09 Apr 2020 14:07:04
They won’t ditch the cups, the money for the smaller teams is crucial if they manage a decent cup run.

And good luck getting uefa to ditch the CL!

7.) 09 Apr 2020 14:15:16
Dont see why champions League places would be given but no champions. Especially when a miracle would be needed to catch the team in 1st place.

8.) 09 Apr 2020 15:46:02
The history books will show Liverpool bring premier league champions 19-20.

9.) 09 Apr 2020 16:49:56
Berg the uk wouldn’t of been this bad in if they hadn’t of took the policy of herd immunity doesn't matter now but staying in does slow it and stop it! U can’t get it if your out!

10.) 09 Apr 2020 18:48:31
Admire your optimism 1jj but I can’t see that being the case mate.

11.) 09 Apr 2020 21:21:51
Spot on, Langland. I know the virus is still in full swing in the UK and all that and a line has to be drawn on this issue at some point BUT what stops the PL from playing out the season in the fall when it is safe? You make it sound like there is not other alternative but to void the season esp. with all the legal and financial problems that would cause? I don't get it.

People seem to also forget that were the season to be voided, lives and livelihoods of thousands of people will also be ruined esp. those in the lower leagues so not only LFC's fortunes are involved here. IMO, the season should be completed when it is safe to do so and then worry about the rest later cos if next season is what people are worried about then that is a waste of time cos you can't have next season ready to go if you don't fully commit to finishing this one, IMO.

{Ed025's Note - im with you again RM, we will have to stop this mate.. :)

12.) 09 Apr 2020 21:33:04
I'm of that opinion to RM but ed002 has said they won't ruin two seasons if it gets that far down the line

They'd prefer to finish the season but itll get to a point where a decision will probably need to be made.

13.) 09 Apr 2020 22:46:24
Jay look into it properly mate sooner or later everyone will have contracted corona this lock down is meant to be on and off for 12 months Its an informed piece of information I'm passing on but don't think this will all disappear in 3 weeks if everyone locked themselves away for the duration soon as socialising restarts a couple of weeks later corona will be rife again.

Didnt know we could potentially look atbrandyt again, so t he cost an arm and a leg? Would be a great signing.

{Ed002's Note - He is young and a Klopp favourite - and since efforts were made previously he has become a more all round player and offers more than Rashica who would cost a similar price.}

ed2 said in the sharkapod that spurs hold an interest and an enquiry quickly got knocked back. if it was as simple as paying 30m im sure spurs would have been more persistent with it.

I know a lad who collects football shirts and sells them for a profit. makes a killing from what i remember. he said he owed the extension on his house to football shirts. he does put a lot of graft in to get the rare ones. i remember a particularly expensive old Barcelona top made with wool or something like that. Ebay, charity shops and social media might be a good place to start.

The reasonn for thanking the fams was that a week or so prior we were losing and fans left the game early. Klopp said he felt alone and wanyed the fans to stay tondo thag. The fans stayed and supported for the west brom game ans we got a late equaliser so he went over to thank the fans for listening. Ibe seem a lot of joking about it on Social media but it can be toxic and rival fams will twist anything to take the piss.
