Hi eds, hope you are well.

There are reports that atletico Madrid are interested in origi. Do you know if there is any truth to this? I hope it's nonsense I really like orogi. Has huge potential.

{Ed002's Note - He is certainly not first or second choice for them.}

1.) 20 Jul 2016 12:04:44
thanks for the reply ed, much appreciated.

lets hope they get their first or second choice.

2.) 20 Jul 2016 12:55:28
What about 3rd choice.

27 Jun 2016 13:51:29
afternoon eds thanks for all your time and effort. its much appreciated.

you have mentioned an interest in Bastien, is this Samuel Bastien? and hoping you could let us know who else is interested? I have tried the search function with no luck sadly

thanks eds.

{Ed002's Note - Anderlecht are keen to hold on to Samuel Bastien who has been on loan to Avellino but are aware of interest from a number of sides including Benfica (who have made an offer), PSV, Lille, Liverpool (Rodgers was keen on a deal right from the start of the season on the basis of youth scouting reports), Fiorentina and Genoa. Interest of Juventus has gone.}

1.) 27 Jun 2016 18:46:35
Thanks ed. Thought I would ask is it looks like we are definitely after a central midfielder.

Hi ed001. Really looking forward to the transfer window review when you get round to it!

That's if you still plan on doing it mate.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, will start it today at some point.}

1.) 10 Aug 2018 07:22:52
Is it still today Ed?

2.) 10 Aug 2018 07:22:52
Is it still today Ed?

{Ed001's Note - I will start writing it today, not sure how long it will take, depends on how busy I am with editing mate.}

06 Aug 2018 21:13:28
I know it's not Liverpool related and it's early days but everyone seems very impressed with bielsa at Leeds. BBC live chat said during the game "pressing is unbelievable if Joe Allen gets pushed further back he will be back in 2016 playing for Liverpool"

Looks like ed001 was right. Exciting season at Leeds!

1.) 07 Aug 2018 05:41:27
I didn't see the Leeds match but some of the reports were eulogising over their performance, claiming it was better than anything Wolves produced last season.
It would certainly be good to see them back in the Premier League and particularly with Bielsa at the helm.

{Ed001's Note - it depends on how you judge it I think. Leeds were fantastic but with a much lower quality of player than Wolves managed it with last season.}

2.) 07 Aug 2018 06:29:01
That's interesting. The system or the player?
I suppose that's an endorsement of the manager too.

If I were a betting man, also, I'd have a score on Everton getting turned over at Wolves on Saturday. That is not an opening fixture that anyone would have chosen.

3.) 07 Aug 2018 07:47:55
Are Leeds going to keep this energy up for 45 more games? It’s a tough old league.

{Ed025's Note - my worry would be bielsa walking away ron, a very volatile character who is temperamental and the leeds board are hardly famed for their tolerance or willingness to compromise now is it..

4.) 07 Aug 2018 08:17:52
Thanks Tris, cracking read as always! Just curious why Gary bowyer would walk after one game, you able to shed any light on the ongoings there?

{Ed001's Note - it is all about the owner Owen Oyston.}

5.) 07 Aug 2018 08:59:16
Would you like to have seen some our players loaned to Leeds ed, to work under him?

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, very much so. They would have learnt so much working with him. Alexis Sanchez, for instance, was transformed by working with him as part of the Chile set up. He was always extremely talented but the work ethic was a result of his time with Bielsa.}

6.) 07 Aug 2018 09:06:24
I watched Leeds on the weekend. They played some lovely football.

7.) 07 Aug 2018 09:13:15
From what I understand from the couple of Leeds fans I know, they are hoping the leeds board will be a bit more tolerant of a manager that has the credentials to throw his weight around a little, rather than the middleweight managers hoping to do a little better than usual.

8.) 07 Aug 2018 09:47:56
I still can't believe he's in the Championship. I'd love to see him take a low to mid Premier League team and get them playing with courage and attacking a bit, showing the others the way some more and pressing the top teams to break the stratus quo. Who knows, maybe he stays the season, Leeds get promoted and he carries on in the same vein next season.

9.) 07 Aug 2018 10:14:42
I’d love to see what he could do at Newcastle.

10.) 07 Aug 2018 10:26:18
Do you mean in the board room Ron? Mike Ashley is quite a large fella, but I think he'd come off worse.

17 Jul 2018 14:11:03
its well documented that Liverpool had some reservations over the Fekir transfer due to the problems with his knee, this got me curious. i have had a look at his injury history and found the below (source - Transfermarkt)

Cruciate Ligament Rupture: Sep 7 2015 - Apr 7 2016
Knee injury: Aug 28 2016 - Sep 20 2016
Knee Contusion: Feb 26 2018 - Apr 2 2018

is everyone still on board with this transfer with the above in mind? it does make me nervous, and seems to have been enough to put a lot of clubs off, he will potentially be moving to a more physical league. he's a tricky player who can turn on a stamp, does that not make him more reliant on his joints? im by no means an expert but would appreciate the eds other posters opinions? ed2 has mentioned Brandt or draxler as possible alternatives, who would you prefer out of the 3?

1.) 17 Jul 2018 14:22:25
If we can get brandt he would be my first choice.

2.) 17 Jul 2018 14:53:39
Hmm, yeah and they're all on the right knee, so of course there is an element of risk, so I guess it'll depend on the advice of the experts.
His second injury was at the start of his comeback season and only kept him out for 3 weeks, he had arthroscopic surgery on it to clean the joint, probably due to something leftover from the original ACL surgery. He only missed two league games then scored 2 goals on his return and ended up making 49 appearances altogether that season.
The season just gone he made 40 appearances and the knee injury that kept him out for March was a bruise, an impact injury sustained in a collision with a defender, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
Basically there is no way of knowing if the injury could cause future problems, but obviously for that amount of money Liverpool would be wise to try and restructure the payment scheme.
I would like Fekir, but if it's decided that the risk is too great, then I'd go for Brandt over Draxler.

3.) 17 Jul 2018 14:53:41
He missed 39 games with the cruciate in 2015. 3 games missed in 16/ 17 and then 7 games out with the latest injury. He just had the best season of his life, getting better and better. My answer is yes.

4.) 17 Jul 2018 15:04:29
Firmino injury record.
Muscular injury, groin strain, hamstring injury, back injury, ruptured ankle aigament, torn lateral collateral ligament. BTW sounds like a lot right? "total games missed 15.

5.) 17 Jul 2018 15:12:59
Boys. His knee clearly has issues. This league is stronger and faster than his current one. It's klopps press. Then there's horror shows like fellaini in this league who are physical beasts.

Oxlade did his after THE BEST season of his life. Why that is relevant I don't know.

Ings did his twice. The second after a full rehabilitation programme under us.

Both in situations that where not looking knee related. Ings made 1 light challenge against Tottenham and ox in a slide tackle. No real turns or bad tackles.

Fekir plays like Wilshire in he is probably his own worst problem. He turns on a six pence and let's players get close before doing then, this means if they go for the ball they usually miss but because he is so close they can clatter him.

Wilshire is his bad first touch, lunching to get the ball and exposing his ankles.

For a big first team player, 60 mil odd. It's just not worth the risk.

Brandt might be half as good right now. But he is probably half the price and half the risk. I say that because anyone can do there acl, just you should never sign someone who has already done one.

6.) 17 Jul 2018 15:22:38
Fekir is another serious injury waiting to happen.
He is a serious player and I think would fit in well but my personal opinion is go for Brandt if he is willing to come, and save about £15m in the process maybe!

7.) 17 Jul 2018 15:34:06
Wilshire lunching to get the ball and exposing his ankles sounds like something that happens in prison.

{Ed001's Note - why on earth is anyone reading this crap and making out it is a problem with the knee? The 3rd one is just a bruise ffs. It is not an acl or other ligament tear, it is a bruise.}

8.) 17 Jul 2018 16:18:55
God alone knows Ed. KB has his obsesso head on and won't let it go. Like a dog with a stick. That leaves it ripe for the mickey take.

{Ed001's Note - true. He is obsessing over this. I don't understand why. The problem with an ACL tear is not really so much the risk of it happening again as it is that the mental effects mean the player never returns to the level they were at previously. Fekir came back and was better than previously, so it is no more worrying than any other injury, as all injuries have the potential to create a weakness.}

9.) 17 Jul 2018 16:47:50
You can take a horse to the water Ed, but.
Unless he tears his ACL.

10.) 17 Jul 2018 16:50:19
I've banged on because people are just not reading what my complaint actually is.

Fact; I have zero worry that fekir would ever suffer in his performance, like the likes of Torres or falcao did. He is an extremely naturally gifted football who if he ever lost his pace would still be a terrific player. So 2 or 3 acls I'm not bothered about wether he could keep his form. He will be fine.

My concern is spending 60 million on a player to improve our team, hunting for titles. To then have the worst happen and lose him for an entire season. How is that difficult.

He is a world class player, unreal and I absolute would love him in our team. He could be the crowning jewel providing we get Alison.

The worry has to be in klopps team 2 players who had seemingly put all there worrys behind them, got smacked by them after joining us. Ings had gone 2 years perfectly fine. Ox 2 or 3 perfectly fine. Little niggles here and there but nothing to traumatic. Then they both suffer them whilst playing for us.

1. Our high press 2. The prem 3. Klopps lack of rotation for the attacking players, giving due rest. 4. Intense training sessions.

Yes any player in the world can suffer acl and there is nothing you can do about it. What you can do though is not take a huge risk on a player who has already had one, especially with the fees and the importance to how klopp wants to play.

I don't want to come on here and say I told you so but I shall just for some redemption but I wish absolutely nothing on fekir. He really shouldn't move to the prem. It's an accident waiting to happen.

11.) 17 Jul 2018 17:02:59
You're like a broken record kloppsboss, my word!

12.) 17 Jul 2018 17:37:09
I get your point KB. I couldn't fail to because you harp on about it so often!
But if Klopp, his backroom staff, the medical team, Fekir's doctors and advisors and Fekir himself feel he can withstand the rigors of playing in the PL for a Klopp team, who are any of us on a football forum to question that?

13.) 17 Jul 2018 17:41:40
Feels nice to have someone take the time to comment on every single one of my posts. Like an adorable little puppy my man!

Keep it up. I'll send you an autograph if you wish.

14.) 17 Jul 2018 18:56:31
Don't sweat it, man. Be excited for how good he could be, not nervous about the worst scenario that could happen.

16 Jul 2018 20:47:25
Just listened to the sharkapod. Thanks for taking the time ed2 interesting as always! Especially the music choices!

{Ed002's Note - I am just listening to some real nifty stuff I will be incuding in the future. I know you all want the The Clique and The Calico Wall. The Caretakers of Deception and The Electric Rubyyat - the the stuff we grooved to when we were kids. Maybe I should try and turn you on to something more recent. Just suck on this electric sugercube.}

1.) 16 Jul 2018 22:39:13
Ed, the tunes you choose are absolutely spot on.

{Ed002's Note - I have some real nifty stuff lined up.}

ed2 said in the sharkapod that spurs hold an interest and an enquiry quickly got knocked back. if it was as simple as paying 30m im sure spurs would have been more persistent with it.

{Ed002's Note - Any release clause is of no relevance.}

I would prefer butland over navas. Think if we can keep him injury free he could be a top keeper.

Why does neynar have so much power, just for money/ marketing reasons?

{Ed001's Note - that and he is such a whiner that people feel they have to pander to him to get the most out of him.}

i didn't realise Brandt had played the No 10 role for leverkusen. that's certainly interesting. i would definently go for him.

Every time I have seen Brandt he had impressed me. Him and butland would top off a fantastic transfer window.
