{Ed002's Note - He is certainly not first or second choice for them.}

1.) 20 Jul 2016 12:04:44
thanks for the reply ed, much appreciated.

lets hope they get their first or second choice.

2.) 20 Jul 2016 12:55:28
What about 3rd choice.

27 Jun 2016 13:51:29
afternoon eds thanks for all your time and effort. its much appreciated.

you have mentioned an interest in Bastien, is this Samuel Bastien? and hoping you could let us know who else is interested? I have tried the search function with no luck sadly

thanks eds.

{Ed002's Note - Anderlecht are keen to hold on to Samuel Bastien who has been on loan to Avellino but are aware of interest from a number of sides including Benfica (who have made an offer), PSV, Lille, Liverpool (Rodgers was keen on a deal right from the start of the season on the basis of youth scouting reports), Fiorentina and Genoa. Interest of Juventus has gone.}

1.) 27 Jun 2016 18:46:35
Thanks ed. Thought I would ask is it looks like we are definitely after a central midfielder.

Hi Eds. question for Ed001 if you have the time mate.

i would love to get your opinion on King Kenny's second stint as manager of the club. IMO he should have never been sacked and should have been able to stay in the position for as long as he liked. if anyone should be unsackable its him.

im not sure if its a subject that you want to get into. i rememver eveeryone wearing the suarez T-Shirts, how did that impact his position? i understand it shouldn't have happended but he remained in charge for the remainder of the season, why did the owners feel it necessary to sack him?

im so happy the club are honouring Kenny tomorrow, not that i imagine he enjoys all the attention on himself! he deserves all the club can give him. personally i was gutted when he got sacked, we won our last trophy under him, despite having to work alongside Damien Comoli! we not have had the highest league finish but didn't we hit the post 145678 times that year. i really hope the lads get the result for him tomorrow! plus the site is a lot rosier ofter a good result so would helop with your sanity.

aprreciate the time and effort put in by the eds. loving the articles by the way.

{Ed001's Note - they sacked him for his backing of Suarez, so it had a major negative impact. They felt it necessary because backing the player had been felt to have a major negative effect on the way the club was seen around the globe. To be fair, they were right. Dalglish did make a mistake with that one, but the club as a whole should not have let him make that mistake. What happened to the Chief Exec etc at that time? They should have been the ones making the call.

I fully agree that Dalglish should be unsackable, or at least as close to unsackable as it gets. If he had led us to relegation, I could still not have brought myself to call for him to go. He is one man that deserves the support of every fan over anyone else.}

1.) 13 Oct 2017 09:55:59
I have not much more to add because you fellas have covered it.

The only thing what gets me is, I know he stood by Suarez too much, which was indeed a huge mistake, having said that, how the hell can you sack a man like Dalglish it just makes no sense to me. I have no idea what goes on behind closed doors at the club but I don't know it just baffles me it really does, I just think there could've been a way around it.

When he got called into Klopps office to have a conference with JH, he said he thought he was getting the sack again but it was all about this stand lol I admire the man he's a true gent, fantastic ex player, a great man and more, he deserves this attention.

I wonder if the owners regret sacking him, I'd like to know that. But anyway, now he has his name on the stand so I'm delighted for him, nobody is more deserving of it.

{Ed001's Note - I am sure they must do.}

2.) 13 Oct 2017 10:30:55
IMO, I would have liked it if KK was sacked due to poor results cos at least, that is a professional decision based on on-pitch issues BUT since it was due to the Suarez thing, then it was just unfortunate. Someone should have been there to stop him from supporting Suarez to the hilt but sadly, that did not happen.

Now having said that, these off-field errors should never taint the man, his love for LFC, his love for people in general and of course, his achievements as a player and manager. Not in the least bit. A true legend and gentleman and even a greater man. The fact that he was there to present Suarez the Golden Boot after all that Suarez put him through, is a testament to his wonderful heart and his ability to forgive Suarez for his mistakes.

Hopefully, our boys can reward him with a win tmrw cos the naming of the new stand in his name will guarantee a huge beast to the fans and players to do well.

3.) 13 Oct 2017 10:52:53
Thanks for the response ed. Kenny made a mistake and should not have said anything publically about the suarez situation, however surely when this happended the club, should have give a breifing or advised all figures in the public eye on how to manage the media regarding such a sensitive subject. despite the mistake Kennt made, i would argue that the club let him down not the other way around.

no one could doubt he has went into it with the best intentions. because that is all he has had since he came to the club.

it amazes me that some fans would still have suarez back. the man is one of, if not the best player i have seen in a reds shirt (im in my 20's) but the way he behaved at the club was shocking. and IMO hegot snacky during the internationals to force a move away from the club. absolute snake.

{Ed001's Note - you are spot on. He defo did it to get away as legal action had not worked. Little snake.}

4.) 13 Oct 2017 12:11:41
I don't want Suarez back. His ship has sailed (with all the baggage that went with it) and it should remain that way.

5.) 13 Oct 2017 13:00:07
Luckily he will never be back, I'm of the same opinion, he was fantastic as a player but I'd never want somebody like him in our shirt ever again.

6.) 13 Oct 2017 16:06:21
He'll snap again at some point for Barca. It's just in him.

{Ed025's Note - great talent...but as nutty as a squirrels fart..

7.) 13 Oct 2017 18:56:29
KK was made a bit of a scapegoat then really if they were so appalled at Suarez's actions why didn't they also sell him at the first opportunity . some will say we had a great season and Suarez was amazing but we still won f all.

8.) 13 Oct 2017 20:38:18
Kenny Dalglish should never have been sacked. Our last manager to win a trophy. Case closed.

27 Sep 2017 12:40:06
does anyone know where i can watch the Liverpool games, not the live games, eg missed the game last night and was hoping someone could point me towards a site that would let me catch up.

1.) 27 Sep 2017 13:39:30
footytube (dot) com usually shows decent quality highlights. Sometimes you may have to settle for Spanish or Russian commentary occasionally.

2.) 27 Sep 2017 13:50:24
Hi LFCSTE29. I'm a technophobe who recently decided it was worth paying for bt sport so I could watch liverpool in Europe. A few days after I committed to BT and ordered the box someone told me how to live stream the liverpool games for free, and it's easy, even for me, someone that is useless with computers.

You go to reddit soccer stream, type that in Google, then sign up with reddit, which is free. Then there Ard loads of different games to pick. You want to go to the one with liverpool, I can't remember the name but it had "nav" in it. You will see it on the screen. And you're away. I think you need to enable your flash in advanced settings before you can watch it. Best to do that first I guess.

I hope that makes sense mate, the games are always brilliant to watch even if the results have been frustrating.

3.) 27 Sep 2017 14:11:55
thanks for the responses guys will have a look now.

{Ed001's Note - try here:

4.) 27 Sep 2017 18:15:25
Superred, I thing the website you're referring to is Navixsport. Really good website, always high quality. Only draw back is that it's usually an american stream so half time analysis is dire. I use Reddit to find streams too can't beat it.

5.) 28 Sep 2017 06:44:19
Just commenting so I can find this information easily again later, thank you.

01 Jun 2017 14:21:58
Ed 001, is it yourself that is writing the end of season reviews for each team (really enjoying reading by the way) if so, having read your assessments Robertson and Tymon i assume that you wouldn't be over the moon with these signings? tbh wffrom what i have seen of them they have stood out in a poor hull side. (admittedly i have seen very little of Tymon)

you mentioned we would like 2 LB's one exprienced and one with good potential. with it looking like we have had to pull out of the sessegnon deal. is this still the plan?

no matter who is signed i will watch the games and form an opinion based on their performances for Liverpool. both Mane and Wijnaldum proved me wrong last season if he eventually signs i hope Robinson will do the same.

apprciate all you do and good luck through what must be a really long few months!

{Ed001's Note - yes I am the one writing them and no I would not be keen on either signing. I particularly do not rate Robertson, who can't defend and his delivery was awful all season long. He is a lot like Clyne, with less athleticism but more height.

That plan is now looking dead and buried, as the club are just looking for the first choice left back only.}

1.) 01 Jun 2017 14:38:57
With all due respect to Robertson, if we sign him I'll be seriously disappointed. Robertson is the kind of player you target when you finish 5th and below. We made the UCL, we need to go hard after some proven calibre.

{Ed025's Note - i agree robin..

2.) 01 Jun 2017 14:52:30
I thought finishing in the top4 would boost the quality of players we target but Robertson? Why does the club keep shooting itself in the foot every time a window of opportunity comes up? Do Klopp and co not realise how tight the competition is going to be next season? Getting Salah would be a great start but finding the best possible fullbacks is equally important. Periera and Bertrand would be great imo and much better than what we have in the ranks right now. I shudder just thinking about Clyne and Robertson starting next season as our first choice fullbacks. Its like taking one step forward and 5 steps backwards after that, something LFC seem to love doing.

3.) 01 Jun 2017 15:40:11
Robertson is a worry, even if we do manage to sign a top centre back they will always look average if the fullbacks are Clyne and Roberston!

4.) 01 Jun 2017 15:54:20
Not to say that Liverpool are nailed on for Robertson or anything, but what would be the point? They may as well just keep Milner at left back for another season!

But if Liverpool come to a situation where they settle for Robertson, then serious questions need to be asked.

{Ed025's Note - you never know robin he could turn out to be a steal, trust in klopp mate..

5.) 01 Jun 2017 16:06:25
Ed025, expect that the club does not have the breathing space to experiment with an average player that has a small chance of being 'a steal' with all the competition next season. Anyone with a footballing brain can tell that Robertson is an average player. Just stick with Milner if Robertson's the best we can do. Klopp is not a magician, and certainly not a miracle worker from what I have sen so far. Just like all managers, he needs quality in the side to succeed. Players like Robertson are not going to get FSG the prize that they claim to crave so much (BPL title) .

{Ed025's Note - you say that buzzer but everton bought coleman for £60k from sligo and hes one of the best in the league so it can happen mate..

6.) 02 Jun 2017 14:03:23
Thanks Ed, really appreciate the response. i would agree that i would be disappointed with either signing. hopefully the club are just considering options. i only see the point in signing someone to improve the team/ squad significantly Tymon or Robinson would not do that.

{Ed001's Note - as I look on it, Klopp is the one who has to work with them, so if he sees something in them, then I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He has built his reputation out of getting in players others didn't think were good enough and making them better. Klopp develops players to play the way he wants them to, rather than buys finished products and tries to fit them into a team.}

31 May 2017 11:52:48
hi Eds. i was wondering if any clubs have expressed an interest in Peplin Ljinders over the past few years? he is a highly rated coach and will inevitably go into management. i am just curious if any clubs have approached us or him about becoming their head coach or manager?

{Ed001's Note - yes we have been approached a few times regarding him. No head coach roles that I am aware of though yet.}

1.) 31 May 2017 15:28:34
cheers ed, from what i have read about him and the way he speaks about the game, he seems like he could have a bright future in coaching.

2.) 31 May 2017 15:58:48
Somebody I know was at a meal with him and a few other academy coaches on Friday and he said Ljinders was a really nice guy and absolutely hilarious. Apparently Ljinders said that after training Klopp is always sitting down at Melwood and smoking for two hours which I was really surprised at.
Ljinders though has a bright future for sure, he's rising through the ranks and I'm a sure he will take over as manager or whatever at a top division side one day.

20 Apr 2017 14:29:29
afternoon eds. i know you said that any defenders would have to be moved on before we looked to sign any but surely the club are concerned with lovren and matips inability to stay fit? this is our first centre back pairing and they can't get a run of games. with the possibility of Lucas and Sakho leaving, gomez and klavan is not sufficient cover.

{Ed002's Note - Other clubs manage perfectly well with four centre backs which is what Klopp wanted as well. Sakho is not available because of Klopp. The training regime is responsible for the muscle injuries.}

1.) 20 Apr 2017 15:41:17
Sakho himself could not stay fit for a long period under both BR and Klopp. We definitely need a new CB to replace Lucas (deserves to play regularly elsewhere) and Klavan (not good enough) . If we don't sort out our CB conundrum, then next season is going to be one big disappointment with all the additional games and our attack will tire out at some pint meaning our defenders will need to do their jobs better than what they have done this season.

2.) 20 Apr 2017 14:48:05
Hey ed, would you be willing to share some technical know-how on the specifics of the training process that Klopp is implementing? I am really curious on the matter.

My personal take on the whole "Klopp's methods lead to more injuries" question: It is a curious conundrum, but as a dimwit with no actual knowledge on how the process works I would support the coach in his decisions. If more frequent injuries are the price the pay for the dynamic style of football we play, then so be it. I like Klopp's style, but if it was without drawbacks then everyone and their dog (and Sparky) would be using it, I guess. Still, if there is room of adjustments, then let us hope he finds them.

{Ed002's Note - I don't want to open this up again but the players are pushed too hard and that results in muscle injuries.}

3.) 20 Apr 2017 15:33:50
Ed002 Sakho is not available cuz of his stupid behaviour. not cuz of Klopp.

{Ed002's Note - No, he has not been available to play for Liverpool because Klopp does not want him - it is entirely the fault of Klopp - nobody else.}

4.) 20 Apr 2017 18:06:17
I don't see the banishing of a disruptive player who takes responsibility for anything wrong he has done, as being the fault of the manager. Sahko only cares about Sahko and to keep him while he continues to disrespect and flout the manager's orders would be dereliction of duty and a slap in the face of his authority. Many may not wanna hear that BUT I'm happy that there are still managers who believe in team chemistry and harmony and will not tolerate insubordination. BTW It's not as if Sahko was Paulo Maldini while he was here, was it?

Clearly, Klopp was right as we are third in the PL and if many think he would have improved us, I sure haven't seen this improvement as he's been here for 3 years where we conceded 150 goals in the PL in that span.

5.) 20 Apr 2017 23:17:26
I fully back Klopp on this one. 1 chance, 2nd chance, 3rd chance. otherwise where does it stop for the entire squad.

6.) 21 Apr 2017 15:08:24
I have to agree with Ed002 here. You can only blame Klopp for the Sakho fiasco. Not initially as I do believe punishment was needed. Sakho's behaviour was getting out of hand BUT after that Sakho played for the reserves with no issues and has knuckled down and just got on with doing his best for Palace which shows more maturity than Klopp's pig headedness. All Klopp has to do is say ok you've took your punishment like a man and shown the willingnessto work and dig in I wanted and I respect that but you are on your final warning, welcome back and it's problem solved.

I wasn't particularly impressed with Robertson yesterday he had the opportunity to stretch Everton more than he did. He had the beating and Rooney and Kenny and didn't take advantage and often just passed it back to Milner and I don't think any of his crosses led to anything. Wasn't a bad performance but certainly wasn't great.

go and watch salahs goal against spurs. one of the passes of the season from hendserson. he has the ability. he is being instructed to play this way. if he loses possession the position he is currently playing it will leave us exposed.

Thanks ed, great review. I understand coutinhos defensive work has plenty if room for improvement but he was a jot to watch yesterday. His touch and balance is just brilliant the Brighton players couldn't get near him. They will be having nightmares.

I'm glad to see that we are making the most of set pieces lately. Also happy that we are looking into details like the wall jumping. Seems minor but we should always look out for things like this.

i must admit i didn't think doucoure was a particularly defensive mided player. i have seen very little of watford though. will keep an eye on him as well as Obian. really hope the club are looking for players we could get in January.
