Coutinho is playing so well because of the system we're playing.
Everyone is playing well!
I'd argue that Firmino is playing better than Coutinho.
Most of his work is done off the ball and goes unseen.
He just doesn't stop.
Whether Coutinho stays or goes I don't mind.
We no longer rely on one person.
We're a team!

Coutinho is playing outstanding at the moment though. If we want to build something special then we have to find a way to keep our best players.

2.) 11 Nov 2016 17:53:09
Absolutely, boys. in fact, Tite the Brazilian coach said that he is building the team around couts which is why Willian can`t get a game as he is not Cout` equal. Klopp I think, is/ will do the same here provided we have CL every season and win some Cups. As for Firmino, the guy is just brilliant on and off the ball. I`m not sure he even knows how good he is or can be everything he does looks so effortless and it looks like he`s not even breaking a sweat.

3.) 11 Nov 2016 23:35:21
He's playing well because the team is performing well.
The team is set up for him, llana and Firnho to provide the finish but don't underestimate the team ethic at Liverpool FC.
Its what's missing at Utd. Thank God, and long may the special one continue to single out and publicly criticise his players.

I just watched the Watford highlights again.
What a performance!
And what's more Coutinho looks so happy.
If we're up there come the end of the season, why would we want to leave?
Something special is happening at Anfield.

That first half alone was breathless and we could have scored five in that half alone. Just brilliant football.

Question for the eds:
Did players from around the world in the 60s, 70s, 80s want to play for Liverpool in the same way players now want to go and play for Real and Barcelona? And if so why didn't that happen?
The only foreign players I can think of from those decades are Craig Johnston and Jan Molby.

{Ed001's Note - some did, but it wasn't as simple as that, never has been. It wasn't so worldwide on TV for them to hear of Liverpool back then, even those that had, how on earth would we hear of them? We didn't have a worldwide scouting system.}

1.) 03 Nov 2016 17:30:22
I suppose so. It's hard to think of a time where the internet didn't exist
Was there anyone else who joined you can think of?

2.) 03 Nov 2016 20:21:03
If I remember rightly I think the clubs virtually owned all rights to the player.

even out of contract players couldn't just walk out and find a new club.

I think the clubs also owned their registration.

It was the opposite of todays player power.

3.) 03 Nov 2016 23:51:49
Avi Cohen?

4.) 04 Nov 2016 08:11:40
Think Michael Laudrup was very close to joining back in the day. Can't remember the reason why he turned us down in the end. Not sure if anyone else has heard this story?

Also pretty sure Maradona very nearly signed for Sheffield United in the early 80's (or they were in discussions anyway) .

5.) 04 Nov 2016 09:55:40
The club offered him a 2 year deal. he wanted a 3 year year one. We weren't going to let a young Danish lad dictate to the club. so both parties went sepeerate ways.

I'm more worried about the Palace game than the Utd one.
Palace are totally our bogey team.
I just know Benteke is going to bite us in the arse.
Hopefully we can shut down his service from the wings.
Anyway, Klopp continues to prove me wrong so hopefully he will do so again.

1.) 27 Oct 2016 18:25:46
Yeah it's one of them games it's pretty worrying but going on this season we should do them. should.

2.) 27 Oct 2016 19:27:26
I'm actually confident, we've shown we can handle a bit of Pulisball.

3.) 27 Oct 2016 21:21:04
Palace have some quality players especially on the flanks and have 2 decent striker upfront and a decent midfielder unlike Westbrom. I don't know y people think this would be a walk in the park.

4.) 27 Oct 2016 22:40:27
We are a lot better this year.

Also Palace sold Dwight Gayle to Raffa at Newcastle.

For me he caused us big problems.
Raffa has a gooden there.

Cant understand why a prem club didn't sign him?

5.) 27 Oct 2016 23:20:57
I feel like that's been the case for the last couple of games to be honest, united are our bogey team out of the so called top teams, west brom are another bogey team and so are crystal palace of late, so its back to back bogey teams. I feel like, we are almost due a bad result if the united result isn't deemed a bad one, I won't say we will lose because I don't think palace have enough to score 2 goals against us and I think we will get a goal but I see a draw written all over this. The weird thing is i'm confident, and usually when I start getting confident about results, predicting wins and the way we are playing we start deteriorating.

6.) 27 Oct 2016 23:40:49
I have complete faith in Klopp's ability to prepare the team, why set yourself up for failure? Why are you even considering it?

7.) 28 Oct 2016 04:56:26
we have Matip, let's believe :-) BOOM!

8.) 28 Oct 2016 08:28:55
Why worry? We can outscore anyone.
They will be more worried about us.

9.) 28 Oct 2016 09:48:29
Fornax

No team sets up for a failure. Most of the managers presist with the winning side. Palace are physical and has pace on the flanks. We play throguh the middle and has never been good aagainst team who uses the width in the past.

Either we will smash them off the park with Padrew deciding to sit back and allow us the ball or we are getting bullied by their pace and long ball.

10.) 28 Oct 2016 15:06:39
A team is a bogey team if you let them. It is the inability of previous managers to adequately prepare and come up with a plan to neutralize the game plans of the lesser teams that have allowed for poor results against the WB`s and CP`s and the like. Klopp is trying to rectify this by preparing adequately for them. CP may have won at Anfield last season but Klopp got his revenge and won at CP with a goal and a man down n outplaying them to the hilt. That is a mental block that is being erased and we now know we can beat them. Same for WB, we should have put 5 past them with Klopp because he had prepared for them and they were soundly beaten (tho the scoreline doesn`t show that) . Klopp is gradually exorcising our demons and after a while, there will be no bogey teams. There will only be teams that we need to beat at a specific time.

They're goal should never have stood.
There was a player in between Macauley and Karius who was offside clearly interfering!
Anyway, as Klopp said it would have been a joke if they'd got a point.
We we're awesome apart from the little panic we had after their goal. Even then we could have scored another hatful.
Can't believe we're joint top after the fixtures we've faced!
Awesome.
Long may it continue.

Their goal.

2.) 22 Oct 2016 20:19:51
I couldn't believe their goal stood but not seen a replay yet. Was the player between Macauley and Karina offside? Played well today but we do need to finish teams off. Plenty to be positive about - just need to ensure we make the most of the run of games we have coming up against the mid/ lower half teams. By mid December we COULD be in a very strong position.

3.) 22 Oct 2016 22:58:32
Whos Karina.

4.) 23 Oct 2016 09:55:17
Ha ha flipping auto correct on my phone. I meant Karius.

There's no way we're in for him.
It's just idiots in the press making rubbish up because he had
a decent game against us.

How would Alli take Wijnaldum's place? They are completely different players.
Alli would only fit in in the front three and he wouldn't displace Mane, Coutinho or Firmino

Clyne has been superb these last 4 games.
Has been solid and looked a threat going forward.
Some people always need to be negative.
