The cynic in me says it seems strange Barca, Real, Bayern and city were all kept apart . anyway should be a cracking couple of games could end up 6-5 over the two legs either way.

1.) 16 Mar 2018 13:14:49
Or a 6-6 win on the away goals rule, would be nice, Squizza.

25 Feb 2018 15:04:08
Appreciate De Gea is one of the best in the world and has credit in the bank but if Karius let that in the pundits including Carra would smash him.

1.) 25 Feb 2018 15:15:29
also if he had tipped that shot on to the bar we would not have heard the last of it, it just goes to show how irrelevant football pundits are, they have a agenda to work to given to them by there paymasters. De Gea as you say is still a brilliant goalkeeper and one mistake won't change that, let's hope we can benefit from a rare error from him on march 10th.

2.) 25 Feb 2018 15:27:41
Yeah but to be fair DDG has been doing incredible for years, Karius has played well for weeks. Karius needs a few more good months before the critics will get off his back.

3.) 25 Feb 2018 15:57:41
You earn the right to escape criticism on a poor day. And that guy has earned the right.

4.) 25 Feb 2018 16:14:34
Agree with you there lfc8 however the job of a pundit is to call it as he sees it, saying De Gea made a mistake is not saying he is a poor goalkeeper, pundits should not pick and choose which players get a easy ride and which ones don't, that's what drives me mad they are so inconsistent, long may karius's form continue btw, shame he lost his clean sheet yesterday.

5.) 25 Feb 2018 16:31:31
This has to be the most boring game of the season!

6.) 25 Feb 2018 18:58:59
I think we're confusing the pundits role. They're there to drive debate, discussion and CLICKS! They are the visual form of clickbait!

7.) 25 Feb 2018 21:44:34
Pundits are like weathermen/ women. They are never wrong even tho, they have been clearly wrong and run their mouths all the time, trying to have it all 30 diff. ways. I do agree that DDG had a poor game (the goal was not his only mistake) and that should be mentioned and but it does not mean he suddenly became a crap GK. And if DDG is lauded for making the exact same save on to the bar that Karius made to keep us at 0-0, he should get credit for it as well. But since this is not a perfect world, expecting pundits to be fair to those they actually like to use as whipping boys, is like asking for the U. S govt. to ban gambling in Las Vegas.

8.) 26 Feb 2018 08:54:19
De gea has obviously had his head turned by Madrid. It explains his error 😂.

24 Feb 2018 17:23:54
What’s everyone’s favoured result tomorrow then, think I would take a draw and gain points over both of them.

1.) 24 Feb 2018 17:52:50
I think it's always got to be a draw when the rest of the 'big six' are playing each other but if United win we are 4 points clear of Chelsea, if Chelsea win/ draw then we remain second. It's win-win to me.

2.) 24 Feb 2018 21:16:19
A draw, end of.

01 Feb 2018 18:51:00
Just want to say good luck to 23Carragold got a few more loanees to keep tabs on now mate.

1.) 01 Feb 2018 19:43:11
Haha thanks squizza, I think I am going to need it!

2.) 01 Feb 2018 20:17:54
Fair play to ya mate your playing a stormer as we say in Louth.

3.) 02 Feb 2018 01:40:42
Just googled Louth and it turns out it's in Lincolnshire. i always assumed you were Welsh for some reason Barry.

Funnily enough there's two Louths in Ireland. My company once installed a pipeline from Louth to Louth.

4.) 02 Feb 2018 08:34:14
What's that stoneage, mate? There is one Louth in Ireland, the village of Louth which is in County Louth, named after an ancient Gaelic god. Would I be correct that you promounce the one in Lincolnshire as 'Louth' as in 'mouth'?

5.) 02 Feb 2018 08:37:52
PS: Are you a Dundalk fan, Barry? Or The Drogs?

ED001 what do you make of Klopps demeanour the last two games. He seemed pretty subdued to me and wonder whether that rubs off on the players. It was almost like he was resigned to defeat by half time in both games.

{Ed001's Note - it does worry me that he is not himself, not sure why. Maybe he is fed up of the criticism he takes, being called a clown etc for the way he acts? Either way he should just carry on being himself and showing passion, the team plays better when he does. It must have an effect of some kind, even if just a small one.}

1.) 29 Jan 2018 08:25:41
Was thinking about this recently and hoping klopp would just go back to being himself. But I wonder if he has recoiled somewhat cos the team are so up and down his theatrics in celebration can so often be letdown by the team. Case in point WBAs first goal a few seconds after we scored.

2.) 29 Jan 2018 08:42:38
When he first come he was screaming at the players and it was great. Now when we concede he just stands there smiling with folded arms, it pisses me right off.

3.) 29 Jan 2018 11:15:27
Aside from the defeats klopp negative attitude have been a positive for me. I hope and feel he has or will try and calm the clowning around a notch.

4.) 29 Jan 2018 12:14:22
I think he should just go back to being himself and whipping up the crowd to get behind the team the way he normally does. He should not totally change his ways (maybe tweak them a bit) BUT he should never lose who he is to satisfy others, not even the fans. Klopp is an open book and like it or not, that is who he is and brought him success. It does show that he is just as frustrated as we are and we don't need him shouting at the players after we concede to know that. A lot is said when nothing is said. I hope he gets out of it cos the players and fans feed off his enthusiasm.

5.) 29 Jan 2018 15:19:11
Yeah but as a manager there will come a time you don't want to have to shout from the sides and force play or passion. By now the players should understand what is expected from them and not need klopp going mad to get them to act.

Same as being a dad, at some point you want to be able to trust your kids and not have to baby them there entire life.

So 32m for an impact sub . Money well spent again. I don't doubt that in the right team and system he would be a good player I just unfortunately don't think that it is with us . Hope he proves me wrong but he takes away the best qualities of firmino coutinho etc with his lack of movement.

What do you reckon about Lallana Ed clearly not up to speed but I can’t see him getting back in and being any more than a squad player now, good player no doubt but for me he doesn’t have the pace or move the ball quick enough to be first choice.

{Ed001's Note - I think his time is coming to an end.}

Agree Drogie mate we seem to be showing a bit more patience against deep lying teams
I also think there is an element of truth in what Klopp said regarding Coutinho, games like yesterday he would have dropped deep picked up the ball and most of our play would go through him, we all know that can work as he is quality but did make us easier to defend against possibly. Now though different players are stepping up making it more difficult to plan for which is a good thing for the now and the future
We will still have the odd slip up but there seems to be a greater assurance in our play at the moment and comfortable wins aren’t quite such a rarity.

Ed001 I know you have one hell of list of articles to get through and it’s definitely good that some of the posters have offered to contribute and take away some of the workload, was wondering though what articles are you currently working on or are next on the hit list these are always a good read, cheers.

{Ed001's Note - I am working on Johan Cruyff for the Legends of the Game series right now. Taking a while though as he has done so much. I am really struggling to figure out how to condense it down to an article or even two!}

Jose turned up as a bus conductor this season .
