Reading that Adrian could be off to Real Betis (boyhood club) in the summer and Kelleher possibly promoted in his stead. Grabara is still out there, not to mention he who must not be named. Anyone else heard of this? Alisson is never getting dislodged but Adrian has certainly proven his importance this year when given an opportunity.

1.) 08 Feb 2020 03:02:17
I think it would be a great move for him as his career is nearly over and probably his last opportunity to play regularly in a top league.

Hes had the most memorable year he could have imagined with us and will surely walk away with a premier league medal after playing his part with a big contribution to our season when he realistically never expected to play much more than a few cup games. he's never going to oust allison so let him move on if he desires and he will forever be loved as an iconic member of this season never to be forgotten.

2.) 08 Feb 2020 06:36:44
Best no.2 we’ve had in god knows.
Kelleher isn’t good enough yet sorry.

3.) 08 Feb 2020 08:48:52
There is a lot of rumours about some Turkish keeper; Ugurcan Cakir. Maybe he'd be Adrian's replacement.

4.) 08 Feb 2020 10:01:25
Kelleher is no where near PL quality let alone Liverpool quality. i love our academy players to make it but he won't! He has conceded 10 goals in 3 matches this season, 7 of them were terrible goalkeeping. Grabara is 3 times the GK kelleher is.

5.) 08 Feb 2020 10:15:48
Im hoping he stays for another year or two. Love the guy and is a really good number 2. If you play inplace of Ali for a good amount of games in the PL and fans say that Ali has not been missed as much as expected well you've done something special. But I agree with the other post that if he feels it that he needs to play, let him go. He will be some kind of an icon here for what he did.

6.) 08 Feb 2020 16:34:25
Adrian’s cult status reminds me of Erik Meijer and the relationship he had with some Liverpool fans. He was the type of player who celebrated winning a throw in in the opposition half almost as much as a goal and you can see that Adrian is enjoying his time at the club as much as Mad Erik did. He’s done an excellent job and if he does leave then will be fondly remembered.

7.) 08 Feb 2020 18:38:28
Adrian seems happy, and has been reliable. I’d keep him for another 2/ 3 years at least.

8.) 08 Feb 2020 18:49:52
Hes 32. How on earth is this "his last chance to play in a big league"?

9.) 08 Feb 2020 21:56:26
Great backup, if he leaves he would need to be replaced by experience as kelleher is still learning. lizardon as clueless as your post implies, I'm sure klopp sees more in him then you.

10.) 09 Feb 2020 07:07:33
I love Adrian more than I could have imagined when we signed him. I'll be gutted if he leaves after just a year.

11.) 09 Feb 2020 09:03:48
You know nothing about what klopp thinks of him, absolutely NOTHING. Go watch the 10 goals again and tell me who's clueless.

12.) 09 Feb 2020 11:26:56
Again clueless, klopp has spoken highly on numerous occasions, referring to him as "an outstanding talent" and has said he is very happy with he's progress. Maybe your right we should get rid of the youngster for making a few mistakes.

13.) 09 Feb 2020 14:42:10
Livergat I’m not commenting on Kelleher s talent however Klopp says great things about everyone partly because he’s a decent chap and partly because he knows it will mean the club gets bigger fees that he can then spend on getting better players etc. See Solanke and Wilson for examples.

14.) 09 Feb 2020 17:25:36
I really don't want to see Adrian leave, in his short time at LFC, he is part of our history, and will not be forgotten, if he does leave to get regular game time, I am sure every Liverpool fan will wish him the best .

15.) 09 Feb 2020 18:50:29
@Lizardon, what are you talking about? Kelleher has actually played 4 senior games this season and kept 2 clean sheets. I've also watched him play for Ireland U21 for whom he kept 6/ 10 clean sheets. He is an excellent young goalkeeper including being very good with his feet, which is something Liverpool and Klopp value. The 10 goals you're talking about were 5 vs Arsenal and 5 vs Villa. I remember the games clearly and nobody blamed Kelleher. But especially for you, I just watched the highlights again.

Vs Arsenal:
Torreira and Martinelli goals = both good saves scored from the rebound.
Martinelli's 2nd was our young defense ripped apart and nobody could've saved.
Milner's mistake for 4th.
Willock's worldy!

Vs Villa:
Hourihane freekick that her reacted a second late to because a Villa player was running in on it.
Boyes OG that looped horribly over him.
Kodija's 2 goals again from poor defending leaving him totally exposed.
Wesley's goal where he covered his angles but beaten by a good finish.
Those last 3 were all when our young team were valiantly chasing goals and got caught out. If anything he kept the score down vs Villa with some good saves.

Either you know nothing about football or just see the goals very differently and maybe care to explain your slander?

16.) 10 Feb 2020 05:15:49
I expect Turkish keeper to come I for 15m. He young and a First teamer.

17.) 10 Feb 2020 07:59:22
If Adrian was to leave, I'd take Ben Foster in a heartbeat if Watford get relegated and he was happy to be #2 and maybe help with GK coaching.

He's 37 soon and still a killer GK with a wealth of knowledge to impart to the younger guys.

18.) 10 Feb 2020 10:04:20
Lizardon, can I suggest that you go to the Liverpool FC website and read an article entitled “Behind the badge: 18 months inside the LFC goalkeeping department”? You will see that in training and through his appearances in the U23s and in the 1st team, Caoimhin Kelleher has earned the trust of John Achterberg, goalkeeping coach; his assistant Jack Robinson; and Jurgen Klopp.

19.) 11 Feb 2020 01:48:23
@Irishman. If you're quoting me you should at least get it right. I said regularly which was the one word you left out. Also he's 33 not 32 and my point is that if he stays with us another season then next summer he'll be 34 and how many options are going to be on the table then from clubs looking to offer him first choice position when he's going to be 35 not long after signing. I can't think many la liga, serie A, prem, bundesliga top sides will be realistically giving him that chance while now his options are better he might want to take it. A season of allison playing every game next year and Adrians stock will fall much more.

20.) 11 Feb 2020 15:08:42
Take alisson out the equation and adrian is the best keeper since pepe Reina. I really hope the Turkish keeper rumour isn't misinterpreted that karius is coming back 🙈.

If Liverpool fail in their pursuit of Ben Chillwell, they will turn to former Barcelona left-back, Juanma, who is currently on trial at the club.

The Mirror, report that the defender made his debut for the club's U21 side against Rhyl this weekend, and even laid on assist in the game, boosting his chances of earning a contract at the Anfield club.

Any chance you guys know anything about him? Also curious about the link to Presnel Kimpembe, if no one else has already mentioned him.

1.) 25 Jul 2016 19:09:57
I've watched some games in some pretty obscure European leagues. I even watched a game in the Finnish league last season! But Spanish Youth Football?

If anyone is that dedicated to the game, and to armchair scouting, fair play! I bow to you.

2.) 25 Jul 2016 19:25:30
I was at the Rhyl Game, in the first-half Rhyl hardly got out of their half. Great assist by Juanma, he put it on a plate. 2nd half saw almost complete different team out and the game was less one sided although Liverpool were still dominant but just less clinical.

We won 1-4.

Kent and Wilson were class. Worth a watch for the price guys, good footy on show.

3.) 25 Jul 2016 19:28:34
Juanma will be playing for the U23s in PL2 if he joins the team, not for the senior squad.

4.) 25 Jul 2016 20:52:57
Fair point, AG. I wasn't expecting him to slot home as our starting left back, I was just looking for a comment about the player in general. Thanks Statto.

5.) 25 Jul 2016 21:11:54
I'm pretty sure he is a CB that can play at LB as well.

22 Jul 2015 11:55:10
TV reporting that the medical is completed, Benteke will be in Liverpool today and a "slight administrative problem" is all that's holding up the transfer.

Excited about the new season and looking forward to Benteke leading the line for us.

I'm sure the Eds have already answered this multiple times, but I'd like to post Guillem Ballague's comments regarding Carlos Bacca:

". at the end of the season told Sevilla he would like a way out. Sevilla would like him to stay, but he does know there is interest from the Premier League and Italy.

"He likes the idea of coming to the Premier League, of course he has been abroad for a few years and would be happy to continue that progression abroad.

"Although Sevilla expect an offer, but it hasn't arrived yet."

Safe to assume that someone in the Premier League is going to attempt to prise him away from Sevilla, although I doubt we'd be able to tempt him without CL football, considering he just won the EL. Perhaps by the time the Copa is finished there will be offers on the table for him.

Amerigo

1.) 22 Jun 2015 20:38:57
Maybe bacca is trying to stir up interest in a prem league team so he can get a nice little pay rise maybe?
Players agents leak this stuff to journos to try and drum up interest in them if they are looking to get out.

2.) 22 Jun 2015 21:05:59
The striker saga / suspense is killing me.

Be a suprise to buy a player over 27 for 20 million +

3.) 22 Jun 2015 22:02:11
Yeah, doesn't really fit with our typical transfers, but Aspas was right around 26-27, and Lambert, yeah. enough said. Linked with Llorente, Tevez, Gameiro and others that are 30ish, so I can't see why the money being talked about for Bacca isn't legit. Ronaldo, Messi, Griezmann, Neymar and then Bacca.

4.) 23 Jun 2015 08:08:38
Bacca ain't going to happen. Aubameyang please!

16 Jun 2015 15:33:13
Does Manchester City's move for Patrick Roberts from Fulham effect their interest in Sterling, or do they see him as one for the future and the "English quota"?

Any Liverpool interest in Donyell Malen, formerly of Arsenal, now a star at PSV? Looks like he can play all forward, wing and attacking mid positions, might even work as a wingback to give Robbo cover. I tried searching but Malen seems to bring up Yarmalenko (lol)

Two updates from Sky - Arsenal have offered 100 million euros for Lemar (to which it was stated by a reporter that Liverpool would not be going back in to match the bid) and Origi is going to Wolfsburg (they will pay his wages while on loan for a year as well as a undisclosed loan fee) . Good football for Origi and sadness where Lemar is concerned, but if Coutinho is staying (as seems to be the case) it might not be so bad. Don't like to see Lemar brought to Arsenal (or City linked with Sanchez) but I do like the Ox business so not too bad a window for me. Moving on Sakho and Markovic by the end of the day would be acceptable business for me but I still have half a hope we take home one more player today.

List should be Pickford, Coleman, Matip, VVD, Baines, Mane, Can, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Firmino, Salah. Maybe Sigurdsson over Hendo or Wiz.

Amerigo

1.) 29 Aug 2017 22:32:37
Sigurdsson is not even as good as Grujic mate. Shocking signing from Everton that one and they'll all be saying it by the end of the season.

{Ed025's Note - if ne signed for liverpool he would be your best player of all time ings..FACT..

2.) 29 Aug 2017 22:52:00
Hahahahaha ed 25 u really should leave the spacecakes alone.

3.) 29 Aug 2017 23:16:30
Lol! 😂 He's ok ed at a small club so might do ok for you lot. He might be the difference between finishing 10th and 9th. That's got to be worth £40mil of anyone's money.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 01:33:11
Only Everton's full-backs and goalkeeper are good enough to get in our starting 11, Ed025 plugging for 6 Everton players is yet fanciful.

{Ed025's Note - we all have our opinions lowel..

28 Aug 2017 21:22:48
Monaco rejected the bids according to Sky. personally can't imagine them letting another player go in the wake of mbappe but he looks like the type of player that could be a star for us.

Amerigo

1.) 28 Aug 2017 21:48:35
Eds do you think if we don't get Lemar couts stays?

2.) 28 Aug 2017 21:48:35
Eds do you think if we don't get Lemar couts stays?

{Ed001's Note - possibly. The decision on that will be Klopp's. However I don't see why we wouldn't get Lemar when he wants out of Monaco. Sadly for them, once a few bids came in their team all wanted to go.}

01 Aug 2017 20:28:34
How much do you think Moreno would be cost if we bought him? I personally would rather keep him than sell for less than a profit. Good performance from him against Bayern.

Best preseason game for our front three so far. Mane in particular was pure class, firmino created his goal for him with his typical hardwork and Moreno should have had an assist with that beautiful counterattack and cross and a goal from a free kick.

And now for the second half.

Great to have Winny and lallana to come in as replacements. a great squad Klopp is building!

Still hating on Gini. SMH

I don't see why we would sign a midfielder. Even if you are looking for someone to replace Henderson in the future, Curtis is that player for me. If there HAS to be a premier league player out of the ones you have listed, I would like Tielemans. And not because he flukes balls into the top corner against United :)

If Klopp doesn't feel Elliott, Minamino or Jones are really ready and financially we can bring him in, then its a no brainer. He is a player that can change the outcome of a game in an instant and if he is willing to fight for a place in an already stacked offense and, more importantly, willing to fight through the absolute mountain of abuse he's bound to receive if he even puts one foot wrong. well damn sign the lad up. I loved Coutinho when he was here. He did something rotten when trying to get his dream move and it backfired on him dramatically, but it doesn't change the fact that he was well-liked here at one time and was a wonderful player for us. He's in his prime and if he adds 10 goals to this team we win the league.

We don't need anyone too desperately as long as everyone stays fit and they get a fair run of games (Minamoto, Ox, Curtis, Milly, even players like Tsimikas and Elliott) . let's see where we are in December. got to think: we won our first two games comfortably with no Henderson, Thiago, Fabinho. Our big summer signing hasn't even made his debut. Firmino has been a sub twice. Mane and Salah are still the best strike tandem in the league. We have an incredibly gifted squad with some really exciting youth running through it. And the best goalkeeper and center back in the world. We just need to smile and get ready for Chelsea.

Did you ever think Alisson would play here? Or Thiago? We are one of only a few teams in the world that can draw that kind of talent outside of their home countries. It takes an awful lot of money, sure, but anything is possible. Mbappe playing for Liverpool does not sound that crazy compared to the stuff we have all lived through the last two years!

There are a few players in the squad that may need to move on to find game time. Keita and Ox are not those players -- when fully fit, Klopp looks to both of them to perform. The issue with both has always been fitness and not application or professionalism. It is a shame that both have been injured so frequently in their careers with us, but I would not wish either of them gone as they do compete at the highest level.

Salah cannot be allowed to leave -- give him the money! There is literally no one on Earth I would rather see playing for us. There will always be money-grubbing agents but Salah by all accounts is a genuinely good character and only seems to want to be the best player he can be. The only players that can even come close to replacing him are going to cost us even more -- given that you'll have to pay a high transfer fee and obscene wages. We have never had a player this good in the premier league era (and I say that as a giant Steven Gerrard fan) . Selling him does not make our team better and in fact makes us many times worse.

If he misses the whole premier league season so be it as long as he's able to come back fit long term. I was absolutely sick to my stomach when I saw that tackle -- I knew it was a bad injury in an instant -- and I spent most of my day Sunday upset about it. Harvey is a very rare talent and I pray he recovers quicker than all of this seems to suggest but MORE IMPORTANTLY I pray that he recovers.

The thing about having the best player in the world on your team is there will always be times that, no matter how poorly designed the tactics are, he's going to be unplayable. Just get him the ball in a good position and he's going to score regularly. But the stark reality is that City, Liverpool, United and Chelsea all have a squad full of those kind of players. That's where having a better coach really comes into play -- hence why we're the most likely team to win the league!
