Is Wirtz's father working to get his son out of Liverpool to Barca or just noise?

1

25 Aug 2026 22:31:07
Barca?

Who's paying off their debt, Elon Musk?
They can't afford Wirtz even if we were open to selling.

8

25 Aug 2026 22:41:17
No, you are just reading Space on Twitter. Move along.

3

25 Aug 2026 22:41:19
You have put the cat amongst the pigeons there, that's what you call a rumour, but is it?

Barcola to replace Wirtz as number 7?

0

25 Aug 2026 22:29:43
Who said this? Not ITK space I hope

0

25 Aug 2026 22:46:15
Did you read the ITKSpace article fully?

It said Barca, Chelsea and Bayern have said if his son was looking to move on in the future they'd be interested, but Florian is happy at Liverpool, wants to win things and prove people wrong

5

25 Aug 2026 23:07:55
Suppose we do a swap with Pedri?

1

25 Aug 2026 23:17:53
Wirtz is an awesome player, not being played to his strengths. Letting him go would be outrageous; he's our most talented player, given the chance.
The one everyone seems to be raving about is Ngumoha, but I haven't seen anything from him yet to suggest he has top level ability.

9

25 Aug 2026 23:33:01
Can't see it myself, but may link in with Macca's post on our interest in Gavi.

1

26 Aug 2026 00:31:30
Wirtz fits in as the second attacker in the Iraola system like Krupp player for the Cherries.
Solidly the MF 3 and get it done.

25 Aug 2026 20:11:33
Hi all,

I expect Barcola puts pen to paper at the AXA somewhere in the next 72 hours.

Mbaye likely isn’t happening. Initial talks were progressive and very positive, but Premier League tax is making it difficult to find an agreed fee.

Liverpool have enquired about Rodrygo, who is surplus to Madrid, but will not bid unless the price is similar to that of Yankuba Minteh. Again, another injured player.

38

25 Aug 2026 20:50:24
Cheers, VG.

What a strange window.

3

25 Aug 2026 20:52:21
Cheers, VG. Soon it's done, the better.

3

25 Aug 2026 20:53:46
Thank you.

They should play Munoz on the right and save their money.

8

25 Aug 2026 20:55:12
You're right Pelican, it is a strange window. Leaks have almost certainly been plugged on the club side.

24

25 Aug 2026 20:55:15
Do we not hold interest in Osorio or William Gomes from Porto?

2

25 Aug 2026 20:59:32
Nice one VG.

16

25 Aug 2026 21:03:00
Not sure about either of those two. If there is interest, I've not heard of it. I'm hearing less and less and less these days...

16

25 Aug 2026 21:09:56
What are you doing to us, Vic? 3 more days of this?

6

25 Aug 2026 21:14:08
I apologise, Shipley. Hopefully it's on the quicker end of the 72 hours. 😅

19

25 Aug 2026 21:18:09
Rodrigo is another of Edwards' laptop finds and will not be joining under any circumstances - his name is being banded about to play poker face with PSG, as Mbaye was seen as the best player to encourage and compete with Rio without blocking him, which Minteh and Barcola absolutely will do.

As long as Rio signs his contract this week, he's secured although I don't believe he has a future under Andoni Ball.

4

25 Aug 2026 21:21:06
Sorry, but the Rodrygo link would be madder than the Minteh link, as am sure he is not expected back from the cruciate ligaments injury until Jan 2027 at the earliest.
Would make absolutely no sense, unless Hughes is just trying to f*** us over now that he is leaving.

8

25 Aug 2026 21:33:16
It makes "sense" when factoring in the club's long-term plan. They're not too fussed about injuries if it means the RW has a decent option in the long-term.

10

25 Aug 2026 21:35:28
Rodrygo is a woeful player, lightweight, one dimensional and just another Antony type winger. Also a complete knobhead too.

10

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - he is a left winger anyway isn't he? I think he just gets punted to the right to make space for Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.}

8

25 Aug 2026 21:37:31
Thanks, VG.

2

25 Aug 2026 21:37:57
Cheers, Vic, looks like maybe PSG were angling for a larger upfront payment, and we were simply willing to wait it out, knowing full well PSG were keen to offload, now that they have 17 wingers.

4

25 Aug 2026 21:42:27
Victor,
Any word on a midfielder.

0

25 Aug 2026 21:44:43
You can have some confidence about a player returning from a 2 to 3 month injury, but with a year long injury like Rodrygo has, there are no guarantees what he will be like afterwards. Would be madness to sign him now.

3

25 Aug 2026 21:53:24
Am I alone in thinking that Rio is not as good as Ben Doak? Just lots of stepovers, and no ability to pass or track back?

8

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - no, at least Doak drove forward.}

4

25 Aug 2026 21:53:45
I'm not sure if he's even a third choice option. I just know we enquired at one point recently.

And on a midfielder, last I heard we were still targeting one.

7

25 Aug 2026 21:09:19
Nice one VG

Have you heard of LFC having any interest in Lamine Camara

3

25 Aug 2026 22:02:30
Not heard anything about Camara but we could well be interested. There usually isn't smoke without fire.

I know for a fact we were interested in the past.

10

25 Aug 2026 22:06:29
Yes. I have had primary and newspaper sources suggesting Camara. He would make a lot of sense.

3

25 Aug 2026 22:14:08
It would be funny if Barcola stays with PSG and signs an extension.

2

25 Aug 2026 22:28:31
Aye, and that also Minteh is done subject to a medical. Funny how usage of the word "done" gets scrutinised when it's me, Ned or Fields?

8

25 Aug 2026 22:32:54
Another possible scenario: if Gakpo lw stays and Minteh comes in rw, that's possibly Barcola to replace Wirtz, to form a front two with Isak.

0

25 Aug 2026 22:35:44
Regarding a midfielder... could Varela from Porto be of interest? (sorry if prev covered this).

imo, Iraola's system appears to need a reliable, robust number 6 "destroyer"... with ability to disrupt fast attacks... and also thread attacking passes in transition from defense to rapid attack.

From my pov... We saw the problem in the Newcastle game and pre-season games too.

Grav was caught out of position, lost possession. Things improved a little wt Mac... but still not effective enough to disrupt fast attacker, to give more time for CBs to get back into more defensible positions.

Nyoni is great, but needs more muscle mass and time to develop for a PL season.

To me, we need a destroyer at no. 6. A Rodri type character. Was key to City's dominance and Spain's World Cup success. (Wharton, Scott, etc, are all too expensive, likely going elsewhere).

To me, Varela seems most doable (has release clause at EUR70mill). Only 25, has great potential to grow still.

Porto are a selling club. So, perhaps easier to get over line in short time?

I would prefer spending 70mill on no.6 like Varela than on another young winger.

1

25 Aug 2026 22:37:00
Rodrygo was available 15 months ago for EUR100m. Currently out injured in rehab after cruciate rebuild. Will not even be in training until late 2026.

I don't know if he is still available now, but I would imagine so.

Would make zero sense though, as he prefers to play on the left and has complained repeatedly about being forced onto the right, one of the primary reasons Madrid are open to a sale.

3

25 Aug 2026 22:40:27
Thanks, Victor. I'd be delighted with Wharton.

0

25 Aug 2026 22:19:19
Genuinely curious how Rodrygo is a knob head? Does he put the milk in before the tea bag?

3

25 Aug 2026 23:33:30
@Fifth Element, I'm not sure everyone keeps saying anyone from Madrid is a knobhead lol. In the case of Vinicius it's true but far as I know Rodrygo and Endrick are just average Joes. For Brazilians, they're pretty quiet, really.

1

25 Aug 2026 19:40:06
James Wathland:
Barcola to Liverpool is essentially done.

The structure of the deal is what they’re going through now before everything officially gets over the line.

Barcola has shut the door on everyone else. Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool, that’s the message.

PS. The same Twitter account reported of the interest in appointing Iraola in May.

13

25 Aug 2026 21:16:19
James Wathland is Indy without the chicken

3

25 Aug 2026 22:16:47
"Barcola has shut the door on everyone else. Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool, that's the message."

I'm calling it. 🙋‍♂️

Players just don't act like that. Their agents advise them against it. He might say it to his agent, but a good agent won't let the clubs know that. Sorry, Jamie, it's BS.

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - Isak did, as did Wirtz.}

8

25 Aug 2026 22:19:55
Thanks for sharing Stan.

1

25 Aug 2026 23:34:46
Ron, here's what The Athletic says: "The discussions are seen as an important step to establish a direction of travel on a potential move for the 23-year-old, who is committed to joining the Merseyside club." Which sounds to me as if the player has made it clear he wants to join Liverpool...

3

25 Aug 2026 17:02:29
Francois Plateau on X: Liverpool strike verbal agreement with PSG to sign Bradley Barcola. Deal for 23yo #PSG winger worth in excess of £110m. Minor details remain to be finalised before France int'l joins #LFC, with Barcola pushing for move for weeks as clubs have been in constant talks.

32

25 Aug 2026 18:15:03
Ornstein saying similar. I guess we are locked in to see the back of this saga and focus on other positions. We are running out of time.

12

25 Aug 2026 18:18:07
So nothing new then.

18

25 Aug 2026 18:31:48
Reached a plateau?

15

25 Aug 2026 19:23:04
Thank goodness all the done posts will be finished with. Nerves can't take any more.
Hopefully we keep Gakpo too.

5

25 Aug 2026 19:27:58
What about Dicky Minteh?
Is he coming too...

4

25 Aug 2026 19:49:46
Minteh was going to shock
People - he is a proper grafter.

3

25 Aug 2026 19:55:13
Lol, verbal agreement, how about a financial agreement, this is going to be an embarrassing Simao-type chase. No real interest, and upsetting the player.

1

25 Aug 2026 20:22:01
It does sound like this one will happen. What I fail to understand is why, if terms were reached weeks ago, how anyone benefits from the transfer being delayed for so long?

Less than ideal for the player, difficult for PSG to have a player training who will be leaving (and party to PSG's tactics, which he can now share with his new club), and for us with the player not being part of key pre-season training.

A front three of Barcola, Ekitike, and Isak does look very strong - particularly with Munoz and, if we don't sell him, Gakpo in reserve.

6

25 Aug 2026 20:33:03
How does Isak look strong?

2

25 Aug 2026 20:27:38
Rax. Please give over. It's widely reported that the deal is pretty much done bar a medical. If you don't like the posts, scroll on.

Comments like "no real interest" based on what? Your opinion?

3

25 Aug 2026 20:50:59
Rax, Isak was not fit last season. Now he is.

He is a class striker.

I saw Plateau's report, but it left me feeling a bit flat. Summit about it just peaked too soon...

25 Aug 2026 14:07:51
My sources say, Barcola has chosen Arsenal, and bid has been accepted, now Martinelli has been sold to Saudi.

11

25 Aug 2026 14:19:08.
The same Arsenal who wouldn't pay over 100m for Rodgers who chose Chelsea who are not in Europe? Or is it the same Arsenal who have not pursued any player with a high price tag this window?

I can see us not getting him and him staying at PSG as more likely than him ending up at Arsenal. Martinelli leaving is because they signed Tzolis, as he would have expected to come in when Trossard left, and he isn't starting over Saka.

Martinelli wants to be a starter.

Barcola, I can assume, based on reports before, has no interest in playing in a front line that does not attack as much, and the team prefers to defend more, which is Arteta's main game plan.

17

25 Aug 2026 14:19:41
Hmm, Ok. Happy now?

6

25 Aug 2026 14:20:16
Ahahahhaha.

7

25 Aug 2026 14:21:57
Mine are telling me that they will present him on the Moon to make it extra special.

12

25 Aug 2026 14:25:03
I have also been fearful of this - easy to see why he would prefer Arsenal at this point (project, city etc.). I could imagine Arteta has spent the last weeks convincing him the style of play will improve.

People are not going to like this, but LFC may only bring in one winger (like Minteh) and keep Gakpo. Think we might just give AI a run with the current players available for one season.

6

25 Aug 2026 14:16:11
Is it the same source as the Arnau Martinez rumour you posted saying he was signed?

25

25 Aug 2026 14:46:27
I actually don't think it would be the end of the world if we didn't get Barcola (as the price is crazy) and kept Cody and got a right winger in (but I don't think Minteh is the answer). What I can't get my head around though is how AI doesn't see the glaring need for a DM (unless we're working away on that in the background and keeping it under wraps).

If we don't get a top DM in, I think we're gonna really struggle cos that midfield is way too open and has no bite at all.

13

25 Aug 2026 14:47:28
Arnau Martinez will have to play in that position then. Lols at Loz.

4

25 Aug 2026 14:55:18
Not saying I don't believe you, Loz79, but I don't believe you.

19

25 Aug 2026 15:06:41
How many people are going to keep mentioning a DM? AI doesn't play with one, he has two centre mids that work hard and get about the pitch and learn to one go one stay model and uses a 10, that what he does, so that is the reason why he will not get a DM.

He will maybe buy another mid that has a great engine on him, but surely you lot knew this watching his years at Bournemouth.

17

25 Aug 2026 15:24:01
The problem is neither Dom nor Grav are ball winners or will put a tackle in, which is why a DM is necessary. Both of these are more midfielders who will drive the ball forward. If someone told you, watching the second goal we conceded, that Arne Slot was still the manager, nobody would blink an eye, that is how bad our double pivot is currently.

I wish Hughes will stop buying expensive players, which are not the real priority, and focus on what is really needed in this.

Spend that 120 million of Barcola on Cammara, Kone, and get the winger in Pardo, including Minteh.

So, you end up with Rio for LW, and Pardo/Munoz can both cover either wing. Minteh to cover the right wing. And, please don't sell Gakpo, as he can be brought on as cover for Isak as CF.

10

25 Aug 2026 15:29:20
Is that an open sauce, Loz? In which case, don't squeeze too hard, or it could get messy.

3

25 Aug 2026 15:46:58
I very much doubt Arsenal are gonna spend £140 in a position they seemed to have picked up an absolute bargain in Tzolis. Be shocked if they did.

4

25 Aug 2026 15:53:08
We need pace in the side. I don't know why anybody could think that Barcola is a luxury? Being able to pin the other team back because of the presence of one player has a huge effect on the game; their defenders will always have something to worry about when we have players on the field who thrive in open space. Sure, we could do with somebody who is more defensively astute than Dom and Grav, but the midfield can be improved just through training; the players learning their jobs better and developing a better intuitive understanding of what they are supposed to be doing.

I'm not saying having a super mobile midfielder who loves reading danger and covering space wouldn't be nice, but we need to address the lack of elite pace on the flanks first.

9

25 Aug 2026 16:15:54
Barcola is not built for the low block, physical and defensive orientated league and is another lightweight with poor finishing. 140m is better spent elsewhere and I'd go as far as saying that I put my money on Minteh being more of a success than Barcola, should both sign. Minteh is mint off the ball.

6

25 Aug 2026 16:26:58
Alvarez (27 Jan 2027) has big, big problems at Atletico Madrid, can play both wings and CF, Enrique will not like that, could force his hand that Andoni now targets Alvarez instead, and Arteta also, could be both LFC and Arsenal chasing Alvarez now, whose Barcola?

3

25 Aug 2026 16:31:47
When we sign Barcola, do we think he will stick with 29 as his shirt number or do you think he will take the vacant 11 shirt?

2

25 Aug 2026 17:02:47
@Loz, Is that the Arsenal that Barcola said he didn't want to join?

3

25 Aug 2026 17:37:08
Sorry OP, but I have heard that Arsenal are not going to bid for BB.

Don't know which story is right here, but at least we won't have much longer to wait.

I believe he will be at LFC when the window shuts.

4

25 Aug 2026 17:41:41
'My sources'. My God. Garbage.

9

25 Aug 2026 17:45:51
Well, op, that's not what the Athletic are saying.

4

25 Aug 2026 17:54:01
Sauces* stay off the strong stuff, lad.

5

25 Aug 2026 17:58:41
Loz lad, your sources are chatting rubbish.

3

25 Aug 2026 18:52:33
I see rage baiting has crossed from X to here, I'll assume you are an Arsenal fan. Deluded.

4

25 Aug 2026 19:25:39
Who do you support, Loz?
Not a red, me thinks!!!
Some inferior red, maybe.

4

25 Aug 2026 20:21:02
A deal for Barcola with PSG has now been struck.
Barcola can now stay at mine during the week, but I cannot, under any circumstances, take him to my local.
All good now, lads.

2

25 Aug 2026 09:39:50
Hi Diddly Ho,

City interest in Gakpo is genuine.

Gakpo wanted to see options at the end of last season, clubs were approached to sound out any moves. A move abroad was the priority, my guess is because that didn’t come to fruition, that is why we are now seeing PL sides moving late for him.

My personal thought he will stay with Barcola and Minteh/Mbaye incoming. Perhaps moving in January depending on squad depth and availability.

Barcola - I don’t even know what the hold up is, my source is bang on with his Ligue 1 information - so I do apologise, really thought we’d see the lean by now.

I haven’t had any information since what I passed on, the group chat has been quieter than usual.

Anyway, hope you all have a wonderful week - I won’t be posting unless something out of the blue happens for the rest of this window, feel a bit bad about my Barcola information over the weekend - I was super excited and checking for those flights from the Paris region to the North West (do you all check Blackpool too?)

Diddly Out.

59

25 Aug 2026 10:46:21
Cheers, Ned. Don't feel bad.

Thanks for your information.

If it makes you feel better, I just sent an email to a colleague about a business partner and accidentally copied in the business partner. It was not a nice email lol. They are not happy either haha.

34

25 Aug 2026 10:48:03
You got it wrong, no need to apologise. It's opinions, not facts. Keep it coming, Flaaaaandeeerrrss (Homer Simpson Voice).

8

25 Aug 2026 10:53:50
It's all good, Ned. 👍 Don't be diddly worrying. 😁

9

25 Aug 2026 10:56:59
Don't feel bad, Ned, we all appreciate your information.

As a wise man used to say, "Things change fast in football."

I'm sure come the close of the window Barcola will be in a red shirt.

7

25 Aug 2026 11:05:15
Cheers, Ned.

1

25 Aug 2026 11:06:29
Don't feel bad, Ned - you are hugely appreciated.

Spend some of that sweet leftorium money to make you feel better!

8

25 Aug 2026 11:10:50
Cheers Ned, don't think anyone knows what the hold up is.

2

25 Aug 2026 11:12:07
Squads getting weaker and weaker, he was probably the best player on Sunday. What sense is it to get Barcola and sell Gakpo.

I honestly wonder what the higher ups are doing.

Trent and Robbo gone - replaced with sub quality players.

Fab gone, still not replaced years later.

Diaz gone, not replaced.

Salah gone, not replaced (it's ok we'll stick our kid left winger out there).

15

25 Aug 2026 11:15:14
Your input is really appreciated by the vast majority here, Ned. We just have to accept that sometimes 3rd party info can be a little 'Chinese whispers' at times.
Don't stop posting because school children get their kicks from being derogatory and posting anonymously.

7

25 Aug 2026 11:29:00
We appreciate your input over and above the dross replies and really poor takes that some of our fans have!

Let's hope this week is an interesting one!

From what I've read online, it seems like Mbaye was who we were moving for RW. Then they upped the price compared to what was already bid and accepted for him from a German side, and now we have pivoted to Minteh on the right instead, even if injured in the short term.

Gakpo, I just feel he isn't a top tier LW for a team looking to win the title/trophies. I like him centrally. Look how he did at Newcastle.

If the options are Barcola, Ngumoha, Munoz and Minteh with a "first choice" being Barcola LW (Rio) and Minteh RW (Munoz), I'd be happy for the rest of the season.

Ideally keep Gakpo until January, then sell him then. We need him now whilst Minteh and Ekitike are injured.

6

25 Aug 2026 11:42:34
Cheers Ned
I think we get Barcola, Minteh and keep Gakpo
Don't understand why we'd strengthen City and leave ourselves short. That's pure suicide

5

25 Aug 2026 12:12:39
Cheers, Ned, don't be feeling bad. You told us what you heard at the time in good faith.

2

25 Aug 2026 12:21:57
Thanks, Ned

No need for feeling bad and apologizing...

2

25 Aug 2026 12:26:17
Cheers Ned, no apologies needed, keep em coming, I enjoy reading them regardless. 👊

2

25 Aug 2026 12:34:05
If we Barcola him anywhere near &105m then it was worth the wait.

1

25 Aug 2026 12:52:53
Gakpo to City £200 million or jog on you cheating …..

5

25 Aug 2026 15:15:22
Think that it would be crazy to sell Gakpo, we really need him now.
Isak will not score too many goals and will be rested or rotated.
And yes Gakpo has to be the one to cover Isak till Hugo is fit, then match fit, goals will be hard to come by.
Forget about PSG messing us around, bring in a Top right winger to replace Mo Salah, cant believe that its taking so long.

Bring in a proper right back, yes I know that Ronnie can cover there but he is not a right back.
Bring in a midfielder who can replace Fabino, yes we didnt replace him.
So thats 3 players to bring in who will give us more balance, more
protection, and more goals, bet they wont.

Hi All,
First time poster, long follower of the site.
From the days of the brilliant Ed 2, the legend, much missed.

So I'm a IKFA.

But a thought to share which might explain the Barcola delay. Ed's can no doubt check this.

From very limited research, My understanding is he signed for PSG on 31/8/2023.

If so, like Mbappe experienced with his reported challenge issues around earned bonuses leaving PSG (presumably loyalty / tenure related? ) it might explain the need for him to see himself passed a bonus trigger date of 31/8.to complete his 3 year term.

Assumption only . But if this is the case, it would free him for a Sept 1st signature.
As I say, guesswork only.

3

25 Aug 2026 16:08:19
Keep her lit, Ned, and keep 'em comin'!

My friends mates aunty who knows the printing staff said we have ordered extra B and C so it must b Barcola. I like the lad but is he worth that money? Just like is Wirtz or Isak worth that money? Everything's a risk, but this is one risk we do not need to take, esp if it means Gakpo leaving, which weakens our squad n spending big amounts when we could need other positions which are more important to cover like rw, rb and cdm. I'm sorry but baby Adama less muscles Frimpong is not good enough, I rather we play Ramsey than him. Rio is not a rw, Grav is not a 6, and without a ball winning player in midfield we will be exposed when we play teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, as we would get pulled all over the place.

Not sure why we are getting an injured rw? Is he 30m plus more if fit so clubs thinking it's worth the discount? Why not test waters with Arsenal for Nwaneri who is very talented and can play in few positions. It's bad management still not having the players you want already with us, esp with new manager now whoever signs will have few weeks to get to know how we play n then international break and it's a joke. The players we are trying to sign are available, it's not like we are having another Isak or VVD saga.

Dear mr fields - I have the right to share what I get told by folks I consider reliable just the same as you.
You might not like it and it maybe contrary information to yours and that can happen.

As it stands PSG are not moving an inch from their valuation of barcola and LFC haven't not submitted a bid anywhere near there valuation. Our only submitted proposal offer for barcola remains the 105m Usd bid we submitted late July.

We didn't make the minteh bid out of blue he was always the plan B
And we absolutely never touched on subject of a double signing from PSG that's just a media spin.

A lot of positives are happening in the club hierarchy and
The thought that has been floated is to sign players that improve the current squad and the manager is now a huge part of it and fortunately pretty soon we will have the answers.

Thanks ed for the platform.

Thanks Baba, everyone's entitled to post and you shouldn't get abuse for passing on info you've been told.

To be honest I am so fed up of this transfer window, it's worse than a romcom, the constant will they, won't they.

Roll on the 2nd September and we can all just concentrate on the football.

From my side I hope your info is wrong as I think Barcola would be a good buy, though we probably could have got better value for another player.

Time for the sheep to be shaved, me thinks.

25 Aug 2026 08:37:06
Why Hughes is Sporting Director is beyond me, that guy can't negotiate his way out of a paperboy, let alone 100+ million-dollar contracts....

The Saudis can have him.

11

25 Aug 2026 08:42:25
Everything changed from it being Edwards' plan to now Andonis. Those higher up coups see that Edwards' and Hughes lack what a great manager has, which is why they are
laptop-based deal
makers.
This whole affair is part of why FSG are selling as they realised that their huge splurge was misguided.
Huge changes afoot.

25 Aug 2026 08:42:26
Baba, Minteh isn't a plan B for Barcola.

Liverpool did walk away but PSG have clawed them back to the table. It's close.

You are absolutely entitled to post your views, as is everyone else.

TheFields and others said Barcola was done several weeks ago, and on a quick search this morning, he still plays for PSG, so that's not worked out too well.

You post your info, pal.

Cheers.

DjimiT.

25 Aug 2026 08:56:46
Hahahaha.

As per my previous post, how many of these so called itk's will be seen here when the window shuts and Barcola wears the red shirt?

I hope you mean bag not boy, Kiwi. Moving on swiftly.

25 Aug 2026 09:14:30
So Liverpool bid £77 million pounds. You're talking nonsense.

3

25 Aug 2026 09:29:08
"The thought that has been floated is to sign players that improve the current squad."

... By God, boys, I think we've cracked it. Dare I say it, almost blindly obvious?

12

25 Aug 2026 09:30:28
The ITKs seem way off this window. Anyone who reads these pages multiple times a day can determine that. Personally I like that it's a tight ship. But we need 3-4 players or it will be a challenging season.

14

25 Aug 2026 09:40:52
Hilarious, Navy, isn't it? So, before that thought, I guess we were actively looking at players to make the squad worse?

5

25 Aug 2026 09:46:34
What has made some of these proclaimed "ITKs" so cheeky? God. 😂

Great fence sitting, btw, DjimiT. Stating Liverpool have walked away from the deal (they didn't), so, if the deal were to collapse or go ahead, you're covered from both ends. Total spoofer.

39

25 Aug 2026 09:49:07
I really don't get the abuse that gets dished out against every poster. Why? If you don't like the rumour - so what? No need to comment! This is a rumour site. Yet some seem to treat it as a pissing contest.

If some post clickbait for likes or comments, let them. If it affects you badly, look for a therapist, as the issue is not the poster.

If some post genuine rumours, whether ITK or not, and are subsequently proven right (or misguide, or wrong), let them. It's why I read this site way too many times a day.

Ignore the haters, engage as you will, and keep the rumours coming!!!

19

25 Aug 2026 09:50:52
It's a rumours page, lads. Just because you don't like it or agree with it doesn't mean you can be a 'Richard' about it.

10

25 Aug 2026 09:59:39
I know we all want our club to be successful. A bit of banter or light p. taking is par of the course, but everyone needs to chill.

9

25 Aug 2026 10:17:12
Just my own thought today. I know it was talked about earlier in the summer, but any chance we could buy Alex Scott from Bournemouth? I guess it may cost 75 -80 million pounds. If LFC don't buy, I could see Chelsea bidding again, even bigger money, especially if they sell Enzo to City.

2

25 Aug 2026 10:21:12
Just my take:
Since the passing of Ed002, I just take all the rumours, regardless of who posts them, as a bit of craic.
The idea that a genuine club insider would be giving accurate daily or even weekly updates is weird in my opinion. I know someone who works at a very high level at the club and it would never even cross my mind to talk to him about transfer rumours. I'd be embarrassed to bring it up. It's his job, he doesn't want to talk about it outside of work. We talked briefly about Slot last season and all he would tell me was that nothing would happen before the end of season reviews.

So I read the rumours, I appreciate the content, I think about how the rumour might impact the club, sometimes I opine on it. That's what the site we all appreciate is about. It's not a contest.

19

25 Aug 2026 10:18:56
I have no idea why you singled me out, but it's time you were put out to pasture.

Firstly, let's get something straight you attention seeking sheep 😂. I've never have said it's done, I said deal has been agreed financially.

Secondly, I've said I don't believe we will sign Minteh as it makes no sense and seems to be being pushed by Gambian media and recycled news.

Thirdly, I've maintained all along we were not in for Mbaye.

Fourthly, I'm not some attention seeker that repeats what he has seen on clickbait or social media.

Lastly, your username. The fact you are using Baa Baa Black Sheep tells me all I need to know about you mate.

I'm only replying this once, in a polite way. Leave me alone mate, don't rattle my cage. 😂

32

25 Aug 2026 10:41:55
BBS - Why would we submit a bid in USD? And $105m at that.

Surely it would a) be in £s or €s, and b) higher than £78m?

As for Djimi's flip-flops, they're up there with Havaianas.

14

25 Aug 2026 11:04:18
Djim, you have said several times Barcola is done, now today it's close. Make your mind up, mate, one minute it's done, then it's close, surely you know what done means.
When it's done, let us all know and not before. That would be appreciated.

7

25 Aug 2026 11:05:59

Dollars not Euro? Right, ok. It's sheep shearing season.

3

25 Aug 2026 11:46:42
Just my personal opinion, but given club leaks have dried up significantly, I'd take anything these "ITKs" say with a pinch of salt. Not much they've said has come to fruition this summer, and they all seem to be quite touchy for people who are posting on a rumours site. Everyone needs to relax a bit, methinks.

8

25 Aug 2026 11:49:37
Baba.... Are you a wool....

3

25 Aug 2026 11:56:12
Agreed, Ron and DontKnow. It's clear no one here is truly ITK, and that's a good sign for the club. Best to take any rumours with a pinch of salt.

Can't wait for this window to end, so these childish ITK battles stop.

9

25 Aug 2026 11:59:02
This window has been frustrating but I have enjoyed the rumours on these pages throughout the window. Some have got things correct, others have missed by a mile (I still recall John Barnes is gods insistence that we will sign Diomande lol). At the end of the day, however, I urge both calm and skepticism. Seeing this civil war breaking out reminds me that everyone here is going out of their way to 1.

Provide rumours that they hear and 2. To a degree provide some entertainment. Every rumour should be considered with skepticism yet should nonetheless be respected. At the end of the day, only the club knows what they will do. Bickering and believing anything you read on this rumours (and I stress rumours) site is ridiculous. Accept that some ppl may be wrong, have a laugh if you will, and move on.

3

25 Aug 2026 11:51:08
Kopend1, I know what you are doing and it won't work. Go back to social media and be a troll there mate. Its not wanted here

12

25 Aug 2026 12:20:08
At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is when the club makes a formal announcement of a player arriving or leaving.

All the information, conjecture, opinions and fairy tales put on a banter / tumours page on a football forum shouldn’t be seen as the be all and end all on transfers.

Take everything with a pinch of salt and try and enjoy the gossip.

1

25 Aug 2026 12:25:02
I have been on this site for around 10 years now and i think this is the first time i am seeing people come on here and target all ITKS with boring posts that align with spoofers on X. Its no co-incidence when i see spoofers on X post i see Djimi come on and say we have walked away. But then flip flow a day later saying PSG have begged Liverpool to come back.

Is this PSG European champions, best team in the world? Begging Liverpool to come back, i am a businessman and the world does not work that way. As for the legendary ITKS of this site Fields, VGD, Ned, Carra, Robbo and Macca. Much respect to you all and the Eds and thanks for your patience i appreciate you!

5

25 Aug 2026 12:35:57
@PirateKing 😂
I've known him over 20 years, so we've certainly been drunk a fair few times.
I honestly don't think he'd have any granular details anyway. He doesn't work on recruitment. He'll hear a fair bit but he'd never fully divulge.

The way I see it, if I kept asking him to divulge details of tens of million pound contracts he'd probably quickly "unfriend me". He loves his job too much.

4

25 Aug 2026 13:06:42
The state of this chat...Desperate scousewives is well and truly back.

6

25 Aug 2026 13:48:29
@Ron Keague,
Of course, mate, just kidding. You nor anyone owes anyone else anything, and it is certainly not worth losing a friend.

My philosophy is be grateful for what we have and hope for the best.

The transfer window isn't over yet. I wish people would save the moaning for when it's over.

I will back the team and Iraola to the hilt. Our squad isn't as bad as people think, and Iraola certainly acknowledges the squad is thin.

Everything he is saying, and his philosophy, I agree with. The foundations are right. I hope the club back him, and let's allow the man to build us up again!

1

25 Aug 2026 14:31:02
Let's just state the obvious facts.

1. We are/were in for Barcola and Minteh.
2. We've had bids rejected for both.
3. Nobody on this site knows for sure what the outcomes will be.

If we don't sign Barcola, it doesn't mean a deal was never close, we all remember Fekir.

Obviously, we all recognize that our squad is thin and it's been an underwhelming window to this point, but turning on each other when we all want the same for the club is utter madness.

4

25 Aug 2026 15:24:16
Well put, Jcan, just don't need all the fake stuff leading fans on. If signings get done, we'll find out from the reputable posters, and until then just scroll past the timewasters and don't bite.

1

25 Aug 2026 16:03:46
If City can sell Savinho for £75m+, then Gakpo is going to be worth double that. Their stats for the past 2 seasons are very different, with Savinho's being quite poor...

2

25 Aug 2026 19:32:25
Well in The Fields, mate, great response!!

Also, people are not getting grief for posting, they're getting called out for re-circulating crap they read on X or some dodgy site and pass it on as "my sources".

Appreciate the actual ITK's who give up their time to post what they hear though.

Been a frustrating window up to now but hoping that some good news this week can change the mood on here. 😂

0

25 Aug 2026 21:31:27
Oh sweet baby Fowler! Not another wannabe trying to start a p***ing contest?! 🤣 Fields, what did you do to the poor lad?!

Side note: Djimi, with yet another complete u-turn inside of 24 hrs, as predicted; that's at least 9 in the last 10 days.

0

25 Aug 2026 06:20:35
Good morning fellow Reds.

PSG are standing their ground and will not allow Barcola leave for less than their valuation. So Liverpool have now succumbed to the fact they need to turn to other targets but they have left it very late. Do not rule out a significant bid for Dani Olmo in the coming days. He is a player Iraola is very fond of.

Minteh is a done deal. Strange one with his injury, but he will be a Red. Munoz is impressing and is seen as a replacement for Gakpo, who will most definitely leave this window. That's all I've got for now. I really wish we would sign a decent left back as Kerkez is terribly frustrating.

Toodles.

14

25 Aug 2026 07:17:34
So, do you have sources, or are you yourself the source?

12

25 Aug 2026 07:34:10
Kerkez is really really bad.
He had a 3 meter head start, and Elanga outran him.

Last year, I was crying to Robbo to start ahead of him.
Now, probably Tsimi should.

7

25 Aug 2026 07:44:35
This club is run so terribly, it's insane. First Guehi, and now Barcola. I hope Bezos fires everyone involved in player recruitment.

14

25 Aug 2026 07:46:13
So, you expect Kerkez to be able to outrun Elanga, one of the very fastest players in the league, and if he can't, he's a terrible fullback? He got a yellow in the first half, and did an admirable job managing the situation the rest of the game.

If Robbo started every game ahead of Kerkez last year, I dare say that his reputation would have been tarnished beyond repair.

I can't imagine that I'm the only person who thinks Kerkez is the least of our worries right now? Can he do better going forward? Yes. Is he perfect defensively? No. But I'd give him a 6.5/10 for the last showing without any hesitation.

38

25 Aug 2026 07:47:20
Let Arsenal pay silly money, or see if he's willing to wait 6 months to get his dream move. The last thing we need are more lightweight players. Minteh is the superior choice - robust and prem proven. Rainy Tuesday in Stoke.

6

25 Aug 2026 07:48:41
Elanga is lightning quick. The 5th quickest player in the league. Any fullback would have struggled. Give your head a wobble. That wasn't on Kerkez. Robbo was getting rinsed at the weekend by Brentford btw.

19

25 Aug 2026 07:45:52
And again OPs need to show what kind of heat they're packing. mfahmee2, play with your own junk and tone down the hurt sus boyfriend routine.

3

25 Aug 2026 07:46:42
@waynechai; You've obviously never seen Tsimikis play if you consider that to be a solution.

5

25 Aug 2026 07:49:21
If true, then the whole situation is odd. If PSG told Liverpool an unpalatable price when we first enquired about Barcola, then why have we seemingly spent 6 weeks or so on the deal? We must have realised pretty quickly that the asking price was pretty much unchangeable.

I like Olmo as a player, but is he much better than Gakpo, really? The stats suggest not.

3

25 Aug 2026 08:07:47
And Barilla, don't be a nugget. You're fishing for comment, and I won't bite.

But I will explain to you that Bezos will not be hiring or firing or spending or mending.
Bezos is one of a number of passive investors in a private equity fund (K5) who, along with 2 family offices, have taken a minority stake in the club.

There are at least 3 decision makers between the Jeffster and Linda's husband.

Unless, of course, he decides to buy the club outright with money he left in his other pants, but why then would he lock his funds away now for 7-10 years with Bryan Baum and K5.

Anfield won't be renamed Amazon for at least a decade, if ever, God willing.

4

25 Aug 2026 08:12:41
Robbo was getting rinsed two seasons ago, which is why, regrettably, we ultimately decided to let him go.

Kerkez looked quicker on the highlights of Bournemouth games I used to see on Mod, perhaps that's just selective memory. He does look like he's put on muscle as he's got older, but posters are right, he's not catching Elanga.

Elanga doesn't tear up the Prem week in, week out, though, so it's another example of how we don't work well as a unit defensively. That's why we, as a team, get rinsed, and individual players look exposed in our system. This isn't on Iraola, btw, we had it last season in a much more static system.

3

25 Aug 2026 08:15:01
I've come to Paris myself. One way or another, Barcola is coming Anfield!!!

7

25 Aug 2026 08:18:22
Sorry, but I'm not listening to any takes about Tsimikas over Kerkez. Or anyone else for that matter.
Young lad in a disjointed team last year and then transition team now.
Feel like some people need to stop listening to the chimps in their head and Calm the f*** doon.

11

25 Aug 2026 08:20:20
Have we really come to this - anybody putting up a post on a rumours / banter football forum is being asked for the source?

Personally, I get my info from little voices in my head.

Shame that the fun is being bled dry by those who only exist for instant gratification.

11

25 Aug 2026 08:23:33
Brilliant Red!
Make sure to say bon jour, this was STC's mistake, being Italian by proxy.

1

25 Aug 2026 08:26:14
DG, when the window closes with Barcola a Liverpool player, will we see you again on this site?

1

25 Aug 2026 08:36:35
We've spent way more than 6 weeks on the Barcola deal, I reckon, Johnny. Talks with reps started before last season finished. Olmo doesn't play wide, and has no pace, so he maybe a good player, but certainly, again, he is not what we need.

I'm starting to think our recruitment staff must have been decimated. I joked about this a while ago, but if you see the names we get linked with, it's the same ones often, and we really struggle to get business done.

Recruitment is probably the most important aspect of a club, we've never, in recent times, built success on youth or the academy, so you have to buy it. As our buying has got worse, so has our performance on the pitch.

0

25 Aug 2026 09:27:03
I can't believe the Kerkez defenders actually watch the games? I understand people wanting him to do well, but he is so so far off it. Got to the point last year you could see that VVD was literally avoiding passing the ball to him.

Some players, like Wirtz, you can see there's something there even if they're not performing. I see absolutely nothing in Kerkez to suggest he's anything better than a lower level PL or Championship player.

2

25 Aug 2026 10:48:41
Funny that Kerkez under Iraola was the LB in the PL team of the year but under Slot ...

Funny that under Klopp we were one of the fittest sides in the PL but under Slot ...

See what the common denominator is there? Maybe, our performances and recruitment have something to do with a part-time manager and part-time Director of Football who both flew in when they felt like it.

Anyone else behaving like that in their job would be sacked. FSG have a lot to answer for in that regard. Poor management of a £5bn asset.

6

25 Aug 2026 11:18:00
Both goals against Newcastle were conceded from counters, where the midfield didn't position themselves correctly or bring down their man in transition.

To lay the blame on Kerkez, who was trying to cover for those mistakes, is wrong.

He's not amazing, I agree, but he is still a very decent player. If the midfield sorts itself out, perhaps our defenders will stop being put in difficult situations.

4

25 Aug 2026 13:37:22
Elanga is quick. Adama Traore is not? Gordon is not. Martinelli is not.
For God's sake, he has a very significant head start. Besides, it is not a sprinting contest, you defined the space too.

But I agree with pburger, he is probably the least of our concern. More pressing issues elsewhere.
An eyesore nonetheless.

1

25 Aug 2026 02:32:06.

Questions for The Fields please:

1- Has Curtis gone, is the deal with Inter still looking to get done?

2- Barcola, what is the hold up now, is the STC messing about leaving it to the last minute to gain the best deal?

3- The other winger, if not Minteh (I really hope he doesn’t sign, headless chicken) then who do I you believe we are looking at is it Mbaye or Rayan?

4- Who is the midfielder? The more I think about it the more I want Manu Kone to join although my preference was for Sadiki?

5- Are we looking to move Chiesa, Elliott, or better still MacAllister on?

0

25 Aug 2026 03:40:22.
Inter have announced Jones.
It's reported the Barcola deal has always been the payment structure.
It's been Mbaye as we thought we could get him for the price Leverkusen were going to pay, now PSG want even more, which we said no to.
Sadiki has never been linked, and Gavi, Wharton have been mentioned.

No one really knows.
Chiesa is wanted back in Italy, but we would have to let him go for a small fee or a loan.
Elliot is wanted by a range of clubs, but only as backup to their main options. I suspect he will stay and leave for free.
That's all information found on here or a little online search.

10

25 Aug 2026 05:14:16
I know you want someone else responding, but many of these questions seem like they've been addressed one way or another.

1. Inter signed Jones. It's done.
2. My opinion is that it's going to the final day. PSG is being rather difficult to negotiate with.
3. I think we prefer Mbaye, but PSG, as they are with Barcola, are trying to make us pay more than the player is worth. The rumor is PSG was going to sell Mbaye to a Bundesliga team for 35M, but when Liverpool came in and made the same offer, the price went up.

In my opinion, Minteh is us telling PSG that we'll sign him if you don't lower the price. Supposedly, we'll pay 50M for him, but no higher.
4. I've seen journalists say two or three times now that we're not going to sign a midfielder. I think that would have happened by now if we were going to.
5. This one I have the least amount of info on, but I think they both leave, but who knows.

5

25 Aug 2026 06:50:48
Have you tried searching?
There are images of Jones in an Inter shirt for a start, and covered in many major outlets: SKY, BBC, etc.

Everything else covered to death on here too.

7

25 Aug 2026 07:35:25
The club has formally announced Jones' transfer to Inter so that's your first question answered.

25 Aug 2026 08:23:13
@Shughes, @TheFields doesn't work for the club and shouldn't be expected to respond to questions about which he may not have any information.

5

25 Aug 2026 08:52:09
Come on lads, it's a rumours site, no sources should have to be exposed. Let's get back to it being a bit of fun, don't get too wound up about stuff, let's see what has happened at the beginning of September and cheering them on no matter what. YNWA

2

25 Aug 2026 08:55:33
Am I the only one who thinks we should keep Gapko anyway? Even if we get other targets? The lads clearly come into some form. He was awful last season. The quicker tempo clearly helps his game. Keep him. If he has a decent season, it won't devalue him.

We must address midfield. We cannot be so open.

We can get away with a formation shift to keep a player Grav as a holder. But getting run through on turnover has to stop. Apart from fringe squad players, nobody else should leave. We clearly need more ins. This has been a poor window. So glad Hughes is off soon.
Personally, I would go all in for Sadiki & Rayan.

1

25 Aug 2026 09:20:57
Let's not ask the 'ITKs' for information. Let them come to us with their information.

0

25 Aug 2026 09:41:57
Shughes,

1. Yes.

2. I don't have a club what the hold up is, but I would guess it's something on our end, not theirs. Probably not submitted the bid formally. It's all a bit weird tbh.

3. Mbaye as far as I'm concerned was never a target, Rayan is unlikely to move this late in the window. I would still chuck a bit if Rayan and see what happens.

4. Kone would be my pick also. I don't think that's who we will get tho. I think we need someone who can sit in, has good positional sense and reads the game well. I would be after Wharton, I know he's not the ball winner, but his positional sense and reading of the game means he doesn't need to most of the time. I don't see us paying what CP would want for him tho.

5. Chiesa, Elliot can leave. Macca, I think should be moved on but it's looking unlikely.
