Question for Ed002, I have searched but cannot find anything from yourself on the matter - do we hold interest in Neuhaus or is it specifically just Bissouma we are looking at? Neuhaus for me looks the more versatile and would not be off to AFCON. Cheers in advance and hope you are well 👍🏼.

{Ed002's Note - Florian Neuhaus (CM) There remains significant interest in the Borussia Muenchengladbach player with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund seeing him as a player who will continue to improve. Real Madrid see him as an option in midfield and his representative has made no secret that there has been interest from elsewhere including Manchester City, Spurs, Juventus and the Milanese clubs, but Milan seems a less likely destination. Borussia Dortmund will push hard for him but they have growing money issues. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool at this time but he may offer an outstanding solution if Wijnaldum were to leave - but they don't have the necessary funds to pay the €40M termination clause. BD interest will go with Rose's commitment to not take players from BM. I expect he will stay another year where he is.}

1.) 26 May 2021 16:42:15
Thank you Ed.

05 Jan 2021 17:12:04
Any interest in Bremer from Torino?

{Ed002's Note - Gleison Bremer (CB) Carlo Ancelotti tried to take him to Napoli and could try again - but a Work Permit could be an issue unless paying over the odds. I am not aware of Liverpool interest. However, I understand that Merih Demiral (CB) has now been offered to Liverpool and Spurs as his agent wants a foothold in the English market - Juventus want €50M (which seems too high).}

1.) 05 Jan 2021 17:34:34
Could Demiral be a loan or loan to buy option?

2.) 05 Jan 2021 18:02:20
Nvr even heard of the lad! Cheers for the info Ed do u think LFC willl be interested?

{Ed002's Note - I think that sort of money if Liverpool can find it could be better spent.}

3.) 05 Jan 2021 19:12:42
Could be a good option imo he looks a decent player from what I’ve seen. As you say though Ed, money could well be the issue.

4.) 05 Jan 2021 21:16:40
If we had that sort of money Ed, I’d give it to you and ask me to find one. I’m pretty sure we’d get change as well and a better player too.

5.) 05 Jan 2021 22:25:05
Obsession with cbs but we can’t hit the target never mind score a goal. In trouble of turning into the Arsenal team of old trying to walk the ball in. Need a cm who can add a thunderbolt in and a top finisher who can turn in the odd goal or 15 on a bad day. Give teams that play without a striker new problems.

6.) 05 Jan 2021 23:15:01
Uglyben I get what your saying but we showed more than enough yesterday to score goals mate and with a better final ball or finishing we would of scored a few. I think we are the top scorers in the league and we have Jota returning soon to add to the attack so let’s try to keep positive mate 👍.

7.) 06 Jan 2021 08:50:32
Problem is that you win nothing with a weak spine to a team, we have a very soft centre of defence at the moment and our midfield was completely compromised by not having either of Henderson or Fabinho there, so we’re open to getting regular beatings if we carry on like we did against Southampton.

8.) 05 Jan 2021 21:42:57
Better spent on who ed002 who looks a promising talent in your opinion

Cant beat a ed002 player to watch.

{Ed002's Note - Benoit Badiashile is seen as a huge emerging CB talent.}

9.) 06 Jan 2021 14:16:16
Thanks Ed! Yeah Badiashille is another I'd like. Is he likely?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

10.) 06 Jan 2021 18:15:47
and just like that the glimmer of hope is extinguished thanks ed now my dog is crying.

11.) 07 Jan 2021 16:08:31
LOL i love it when players are 'offered' to clubs, it's fun to imagine the sales pitch like a used car salesman. complete with flash highlights video set to cheap electro beats and a shiny embossed dossier on the player. step right up step right up! as the player seductively parades around on a platform. Hmm, i may have gotten a little carried away.

{Ed047's Note - they’ve been doing that with Pogba for years!

24 Nov 2020 11:00:14
Hi Eds, now we are nearing that time of the year, any idea what CBs we could be looking at in January? I'd assume we would surely have to be in for one!

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any efforts by Liverpool to add a CB in January to replace Van Dijk or Gomez for however long they are out - and it is a difficult time to buy. You are aware of players Liverpool had previously shown an interest in and it would make sense to boost the Home Grown quota if they do look to an addition - but that has to be offset against cost and clubs not planning on selling in January. The likes of Dael Fry, Ben White and Ben Godfrey have been of interest in the past - only White would potentially make the grade as the starter Klopp wants (e.g. Diego Carlos or Lisandro Martinez). Whilst clubs are already trying to firm up their plans for next summer, few plan to buy in January - taking a player on loan might be an option.]

1.) 24 Nov 2020 12:55:27
Thank you Ed.

2.) 24 Nov 2020 13:19:47
I hear caulker is free.

3.) 24 Nov 2020 14:22:20
Thanks Ed002,

Putting aside who Klippity has the Klopps for, do people think that Lisandro Martinez has what it takes to be a "top" premier league club's starting CB?

I haven't seen much Dutch football to comment with any reasonable knowledge, but my understanding was that he is rather on the small side of things, and not an out and out CB by trade, as he is often foind playing left back or in Midfield.

In any case, I imagine his cost would put him well beyond what Liverpool would be able to afford, even if we did manage to sell a few players in January (e. g. Grujic)

Red Sandman.

{Ed002's Note - He is very well thought of indeed with Real Madrid and Liverpool having him watched last season.}

4.) 24 Nov 2020 14:55:11
hjikle, we don’t need a centre forward mate.

5.) 24 Nov 2020 18:16:35
I would like us to sign Ben White but I would think he will cost a bomb! Summer is more likely for a big signing to come in.

6.) 24 Nov 2020 19:00:19
Ben White would be a great addition but costly, but the home grown issue is never cheaply resolved due to inflation on English players. Would be more than happy with White and Van Dijk though.

7.) 25 Nov 2020 04:07:51
Boateng at BM may be a free agent in summer so probably a small fee in jan may help for cover.

8.) 25 Nov 2020 09:55:21
Would rather Gomez and Van Dijk meself.

9.) 25 Nov 2020 13:39:23
Red Sandman,
if Jurgen thinks Martinez is the man for us as CB or goalkeeper for that matter, I won't argue with him. He seems to know what he's doing.

10.) 26 Nov 2020 09:23:59
Jadon that would be great but if it has slipped your attention Gomez and Matip cannot be relied upon for a season, Gomez is facing the third lengthy spell out of his short career already.

28 Sep 2020 12:23:49
Afternoon Eds. any news on departures? Brewster seemed to be imminent but all's gone quiet. any news on the front of a new CB lately also? cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Karius has all but gone on loan. The club wish to sell Brewster, Wilson and Grujic and move on fringe players.}

1.) 28 Sep 2020 19:06:56
Cheers Ed.

2.) 28 Sep 2020 22:41:53
What about Shaq then Edd. I thought he had a great game in the cup, but nowhere to be seen against Arsenal? Same goes for Elliott. I know we can't fit everyone in to the squad, and that's the downside with bringing in newplayers. Do you expect more than Wilson, Grujic and Brewster to leave?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool’s issue is to firstly resolve the Non HG quota issue. As I said, fringe players will leave - on loan if they continue to be priced out of the market - but sales of RB, MG and HW are top of the pile.}

3.) 30 Sep 2020 17:28:04
Thanks Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - You arew elcome.}

4.) 30 Sep 2020 22:07:56
Doesn't the domestic transfer window stay open until 16th October so even when the deadline passes on Monday night deals between English clubs have over 2 weeks left. Considering it's expected that Brewster and Wilson would join an English club we might say negotiations draw out for another spell. I'd rather see the players likely to attract interest abroad be the ones moved on urgently. Grujic or shaqiri for example.

15 Sep 2020 14:22:32
Hi Eds, hope all is well. Do you know if we hold any interest in Zakkaria? Think he looks a real talent and his versatility would be great. Would be a great addition in a couple of window's time I think.

{Ed002's Note - Denis Zakaria (DM/CM) BM would have sold in January but Spurs and Bayern Munich baulked at the €60M asking price. Many sides including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus have scouted the player without declaring an interest. Other clubs with a declared interested are Borussia Dortmund (as a Weigl replacement), Manchester United (but not for this summer) and Inter Milan( who won't be able to commit to the price and have other preferred options) are not pushing and he will have another season at Borussia Muenchengladbach.

Another Fabinho replacement?}

Hi eds and reds, have we all seen the news that Coutinho is being heavily linked with Everton? Would be good to see him back on Merseyside but not in these circumstances.

1.) 01 May 2021 16:08:39
Am not bothered if they sign him. Who they going to move on to fit him in anyway.

2.) 01 May 2021 16:45:15
If he didn’t enjoy the reception he got last time he came to Anfield he’s going to enjoy it even less now. Dirty rat person.

3.) 01 May 2021 22:07:50
Premier Leauge 11 of players that have gone and played for one of thier former teams biggest rivals. Schmeichel, Cole, Ferdinand, Campbell, Xavier, Barmby, Galas, Beardsley, Owen, Smith, Tevez.

4.) 01 May 2021 22:19:34
Why do people get so upset when former players play for other English clubs? Coutinho gave us some good times and made us a lot of money. Good luck to him wherever he goes next.

5.) 02 May 2021 07:24:25
Yeah, to call him a dirty rat? He was once a red and the lack of respect stinks.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, he showed no respect to the club when he pretended to have a back injury and forced his way out, while miraculously returning to fitness for international duty. Why should anyone respect him after what he did? Respect his earnt and he has not earnt it.}

6.) 02 May 2021 12:00:35
Thats fair Ed001,loved watching him in his time here he was a smashing player and always seemed like a good lad. Pity he had to ruin all that by acting the p#$%k on the eve of a new season.

{Ed001's Note - it is a shame, I don't mind players leaving but not like that.}

7.) 02 May 2021 12:57:36
I get that eds and yes he acted like a dick but I still respect what he did when wearing a red shirt. Plus I never really know what to believe and not believe with what happened. He's kinda got his payback as his career has nose dived after leaving us.

17 Apr 2021 08:23:04
Hi Eds and reds hope all is well. Question that's been floating around my head the last couple of days and may be as simple as a rule change - what happened to booking people for diving? With VAR now its easier than ever to decide dive or foul, but the yellow cards seem to have vanished? Am I missing something?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea and have often wondered that myself.}

1.) 17 Apr 2021 11:24:49
not missing anything mate. these officials operate with half logic, so that is why we are left with so many unanswered questions.

2.) 17 Apr 2021 11:36:33
Same with kicking the ball away.

3.) 17 Apr 2021 14:41:11
Can you use VAR for yellow card offences tho?

4.) 17 Apr 2021 15:01:18
VAR cannot give yellow cards. It is not within their jurisdiction.

Penalties, offsides, red cards, and mistaken identity I think are the only areas VAR can support on.

5.) 18 Apr 2021 12:55:27
VAR is a tool available to the ref to use when required. The ref does not rely on it cos they are actually too busy officiating the game itself and same goes for linesmen. This is how it is implemented everywhere else in Europe.

I the PL, VAR is an active part of officiating where the ref and linesmen don’t actually have to officiate the game fully cos they are relying on the VAR to do these parts for them. And also, cover for their stupid mistakes.

19 Feb 2021 13:13:57
Have we ever shown any interest in Leverkusen's Diaby Eds? Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 20 Feb 2021 09:05:33
Cheers Ed.

20 Nov 2020 13:56:16
Hi Eds just heard David Moyes on the radio saying he believes 5 subs should be brought back. What is the likelihood of this happening? Injuries are crazy this season!

{Ed002's Note - It is possible that there will be a push for a vote at the next PL meeting but it has been rejected twice and a vote won't be requested unless there is sufficient support to get the required 14 votes. As I have said before, I think it should be allowed.}

1.) 20 Nov 2020 14:51:57
Great thanks. Hope it does pass, quality of football would only benefit. Thanks again.

2.) 20 Nov 2020 18:36:58
I was against it but I can see now I was wrong. Players are dropping like flies.

3.) 20 Nov 2020 22:27:53
I understand it from the point of reducing tiredness and injuries this season. I can also imagine Everton being 1-0 up with 5 minutes left on the clock and slowly drip-feeding subs onto the pitch to eat up time.
Tough one to call as far as improving the quality of football but maybe the players health should be the priority for once.

4.) 20 Nov 2020 22:54:49
I support the 5 subs option too. Clearly it is a problem due to the uptick in injuries. N btw, there is no rule that says you have to use them all cos some teams don’t even use all 3 of the subs to begin with. The injuries are piling up all over and something needs to change. Only imbeciles don’t change their minds when the facts change.

5.) 21 Nov 2020 00:01:26
Three subs is more than enough.

6.) 21 Nov 2020 03:30:24
Idream, I'm pretty sure the 5 subs have to be done between 3 stoppage times.

Out if interest Ed002, who would you expect Wolves would demand a bigger fee out of Traore and Neto? I'd much rather Neto myself 😆.

{Ed002's Note - Neto.}

Zedd I'd have Neuhaus over Bissouma, buying from Bundesliga i, e, Keita hasn't gone well for us but his ceiling his definitely higher than Bissouma's imo. Our midfield isn't for goals, but sometimes they can share the burden and Neuhaus is far superior in that aspect.

John Mcginn would be an excellent player. Stand out player for Villa and Scotland, came from my Scottish team Hibernian where he again was the standout player, seriously underrated.

VVVV, am I? Or am I stating football didn't begin in 20/ 21? We have had a horrendous amount of injuries, ans serious ones, in a freak season. We will add and retain our mainstays for next season, go and play fifa and have a day off lad.

Agreed Magic, people have short memories, dumped City out of the CL over 2 games with ease, beat them to the premier league not so long ago. If anything they need to worry that our regulars will be back next season and with a point to prove.
