30 mins in and what a game to watch. Two teams pressing high, fast paced and the ref letting the soft stuff play, which helps the game. Could be 3-0 either way at the end, 3-3 or 0-0.!

Half time, 0 shots on target both teams. I think it’s been a bit garbage to be honest, I can see UCL switching back to away goals after this season.

16 Feb 2022 21:01:36
We are playing poorly, if we were at our best we’d be 2-3 up by now. Inter can’t seem to deal with the high press but we are being wasteful. Mane looks poor as usual, like he’s lost a yard. would really like to Klopp to be ruthless and start easing Diaz in now. Elliot tbf looks nervous but it’s a big game for him. Vidal is pretty much man marking Thiago out the game so will be an interesting 2nd half.

3.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 21:32:44
Bobby firmino is not what we needed and he come on for lord knows why. We’ve evolved past needing the Bobby role so he doesn’t offer much to the team anymore. Klopp is amazing but he’s got a lot wrong today.

{Ed0666's Note - you were saying mate?

4.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 21:37:31
Oh Sailor Jerry that's just embarrassing!

5.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 21:43:43
Sailor Jerry, next time just criticise Keita. You know he’s always guaranteed to be rubbish. They way Dzeko ran off him by the right corner was embarrassing. Cannot be trusted at elite European level, thought we’d learnt this from the group stages. His lack of tracking back will be punished against better opposition.

6.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 21:54:54
Sailor Jerry 😂
2 shots on target, 2 goals. Brilliant.

7.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 21:56:18
What? I thought Keita was really good tonight.

8.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 22:01:29
Thought Keita actually did alright when he came on Josh. And I think it's well established that I'm not a fan of him.

{Ed0666's Note - I agree Keita actually put himself about and got stuck in. Credit where credit is due.

9.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 22:09:04
I'm sorry but singling out Keita when there were a couple of other players that had absolute stinkers tonight just shows you have an agenda against him.

10.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 22:16:02
Agree i thought Naby played well tonight. A little bit more confidence and he would have had a good chance of scoring rather than trying to play Diaz in.

We weren’t great tonight and that’s 2 games in a row now that we’ve not played well but we won both. Perhaps we are having a little performance blip but the best teams in history have won playing poorly so that is an amazing trait.

It’s very strange that the next leg is like over a month away and we have a domestic cup final sandwiched in between the 2 legs. One of the great things about the CL for me was seeing two teams go at it over 2 legs a week or so apart.

11.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 22:18:24
Keita had a good game when he came on. He had a good game at the weekend.

Great result against a very good side. Make no mistake, they’re a good side.

12.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 22:22:38
Weird. I actually think the lads that came on were the right changes and played well. The midfield boys helped regain the control, Bobby scored and Diaz liked lively.

Hard place to come, inter played very well and crowd was up for it… 2-0 is a great outcome

Hopefully Jota injury not too serious.

13.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 22:33:10
Several people looking like muppets tonight for needlessly slagging players off when they actually did well tonight.
I never can get my head round the desire to do that, it's almost as if it means more than a brilliant scoreline for us.
It takes all sorts I suppose.

14.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 22:36:34
The captain and Keita the difference makers tonight when they came on.

{Ed0666's Note - to be fair it was a low bar. No seriously that was a pig of a tie against a very efficient Milan side who are no mugs they could have easily won or drawn that game. Made up for the win and like you say props to Naby and Hendo when they came on. The game was still to pinball machine for my liking as no one player took control. It was a tricky tie we won ugly and makes the return a heck of a lot easier at 2-0 up then 0-0

15.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 22:40:41
It takes all sorts to support the time blindly. Do you you think Klopp made 4 changes because all was going splendidly?

16.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 22:55:00
Che26, you’ve completely missed the point. Players are getting slagged off repeatedly on here. Those players came on tonight and changed the game. Klopp got it right, and knows his squad more than any of us on here do, I’m man enough to admit that, are you?

17.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 22:58:24
Well said mate inter no mugs and hostile crowd so great win by the boys
Trent and moe probably worse two player's on the pitch
But good team effort and abit of help from the over the hill mob got us by.

18.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 23:00:19
It's quite funny everyone trying to be nice about keita. For me it was about a 4/ 10 performance from him.
Is it just he's normally 3 or less out of ten?
Maybe before the end of the season we might get some 5-6/ 10 performances. let's hope so could help Liverpool be more of a success in the cups. And and a million £+ when we sell him.

19.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 23:08:26
inspired subs.

20.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 23:17:48
Negative you're living upto your name atleast! People aren't just trying to be nice they're just backing up what was a decent enough performance from him, he's been awful almost everytime he's wore the shirt but if you want to criticise the performances when he's been bad it's only fair to give credit when he plays a bit better, I'm not by any means saying he was perfect tonight but he did well enough to be spared the slating for atleast 1 night.

{Ed0666's Note - I would start him against Norwich

21.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 23:27:47
I’ve said it before, but as a fan that was a great game to watch. I thought it was entertaining and a really good win against a strong team on their own patch with a very partisan crowd.

In the past 4 days we have had two really difficult opponents who play different styles and in different conditions and we have won both games. I get that we aren’t perfect, which I think is a good thing in itself - if we ever play the perfect game what’s the point of watching the next game?

I’ve also said that the mark of a great side is that the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. I think that describes us - by and large we find ways to win even if one or two (or perhaps seven or eight) aren’t “on song’.

Anyway, like I say, I like watching entertaining football and I got full value for money tonight and will be watching the next one.

Sorry for enjoying a game of footy.

22.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 23:37:40
Isn't it a curious thing that we can come away with a fantastic away result plus the bonus of a clean sheet, and yet some are more interested in slagging a player off who actually did well.
What a way to celebrate an uneaten CL run this season.

23.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 23:42:26
Well said WDW, completely sums it all up for me as well. Win, lose, or draw, we’re a great watch at the moment. Anything could happen, but we usually come out on top. It would be boring if we won every game 3-0. Personally, that’s the point I’d stop watching, what’d be the point? Perfect balance at the moment for me.

24.) 16 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 23:47:29
Completely agree WDW, I enjoyed the game, good performance by the lads and the subs swing the momentum just as Inter were tiring.
Perfect timing to inject extra energy into midfield with Henderson and Keita, Bobby was excellent, both centre backs awesome.
What do people want, lol?
Two nil away against the Italian champions will do me every day of the week.

25.) 17 Feb 2022
16 Feb 2022 23:54:29
Keita and Henderson were outstanding when they came on. Fabinho and Thiago take some outperforming but they well and truly were by the aforementioned Keita and Hendo, there is no dispute. Went from end to end to sheer control, spare the slander and enjoy the win. Are we fans or critics. YNWA? Becoming more of a joke than a motto.

26.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 04:24:47
Great, great result! Decisive subs that made the difference.

Funnily enough, I thought Trent had a shocker. Constantly beaten down the right. Virgil even had a pop at him. Adds fuel to the fire of those who say he can't defend. Don't misinterpret, he'S one of our best, his name is on my kids shirt but tonight .

27.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 06:31:09
@ Lfcsammy I genuinely didn't feel I was being to negative. I just feel that it wasn't a good performance by him. Maybe I've just got high expectations.
@potclay totally agree even the Mrs was saying Trent wasn't up to much this game. In fact I'd give him a 4/ 10 as well.

28.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 07:11:32
We didn't play particularly well, subs changed the game imo. We won away at inter. Great result. Well done lads. We move on to Norwich. Boom.

29.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 07:11:44
I don’t think trent had a bad game I think it was more they over loaded that side of he pitch and used that to get passed him! Also am not a big fan but keita did well last night. All the subs made a massive difference.

30.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 07:52:39
Really makes me wonder how many people on this site have actually played football at a decent level. Keita was poor, everything he did was practically one touch like he was too scared to actually get on the ball and try and make a difference.

The reason the game swung in our favour once the subs came on was because Diaz was sprinting around, getting on the ball and actually running at their defenders.

31.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 08:00:08
Sailor i totaly agree with you. Up to the goal firmino lost the ball everytime he got it. Then again he's a forward and finds the net. I think he's been struggling this whole season. Maybe time to start mane in middle and Diaz on the left.

32.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 08:23:35
Keita did well when he came on. What game were you all watching to give him stick?

33.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 08:40:19
Tough opponents last night in a hostile stadium. I was hoping Henderson would come on for the 2nd half, we just couldn't keep the ball. Looked more comfortable in the second half and Bobby's header was a belter.

34.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 08:44:09
can we just agree we have built a great squad that gives us options each game? This hierarchical attitude to players performances just gets of base with the idea that we need a squad.

35.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 08:55:12
I wonder what decent level where more touches equals better play Joshke has played at. That sounds like Sunday league to me. Keita played good last night and let's hope that continues.

36.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 10:38:09
I think it’s harsh to criticise a player for taking one touch, my view on that is that Keita was moving the ball quickly and efficiently, which is what Klopp wants from him. I thought he helped us gain some control because he was able to help us retain possession better with his one touch passing.

37.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 11:33:46
I have NO no idea where all the Keita slander is coming from cos I thought he was a big part of changing the tide of the game in our favor along with Hendo. I’m not his biggest fan and would love to see the back of him but give Naby his flowers, the guy was very good.

As for the game, I’m with WDW. It was a belter where me you could see our team had a plan of action and Inter had clearly prepared for us cos they pressed us high and kept the energies up in their balk recovery sequences. They were right up for it and it showed.

We made the adjustments in the second half and took back control of the game and pretty much ave one foot in the quarters. This is is big boy footie vs a proven opponent with pedigree and a track record and heritage in the comp. We ain’t talking about Man City here. Inter are a no mugs and am happy we got the result.

38.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 12:39:43
On another note it has to be said regarding Fabio Capello and Paolo Di Canio in the words of a well informed Italian by the name of Joe Dolce ah shaddappa ya face.

39.) 17 Feb 2022
17 Feb 2022 16:40:33
Oli, my view on Keita is if he can stay fit and he plays like he’s done this season when selected, I’d be happy if he stays, as he’s clearly a good footballer with something to offer. He’s clearly popular with the rest of the squad and let’s face it, wouldn’t we all rather have him be long term success than a Pogba style flop. Even if it did take longer to get there?
