Matheus Nunes - loads of press articles today about him- anything there Ed002? or just the usual noise/.
{Ed002's Note - Matheus Nunes (CM/DM) Manchester City, Newcastle and Spurs have all sent scouts but it has gone no further although Manchester City look like they may make an offer. Manchester United see him a financial more viable Matic replacement than other options. Wolves will look to add him if Neves is sold after losing out on Palhinha. His agent has offered the player to Barcelona, Chelsea and Milan but none have followed up yet - but Chelsea may. Everton interest was rebuffed last summer and whilst it still remains, a move to Everton seems unlikely and Wolves could win out after discussions. Player needs convincing about a move to England. Sporting will be reluctant to let him leave after the departure of Palhina. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool.}
1.) 13 Jul 2022 13:36:08
Looks like it's Groundhog Day every day for you Ed002?.
2.) 13 Jul 2022 14:48:27
Thanks Ed, have a good one.
3.) 13 Jul 2022 15:21:29
I think he'd be an amazing solution to our 6/ 8 need. Sounds like everyone and their dog is linked and Sporting will want a serious chunk of change for him. He's exactly what we hope Naby would be.
4.) 13 Jul 2022 17:00:52
Curious that we have a sizable (and possibly increasing) Portuguese speaking contingent - Firmino, Jota, Carvalho, Thiago, Fabinho and Allison.
{Ed0666's Note - I love it…if we can get the cream of Portugal and Brazil coming to play for us because of the easier assimilation then I’m all for it…someone should open a Portuguese restaurant in Liverpool they’ll make a killing. Does nandos count?
5.) 13 Jul 2022 17:42:59
It would ne exciting, for the South African owner.
{Ed0666's Note - Nando’s is South African owned yes but Peri Peri chicken is of Portuguese origin is it not?
6.) 13 Jul 2022 18:12:33
Yes Ed0666 it is South African of Portuguese descent! There was a large Portuguese community in SA, with many coming down from Mozambique as well
Good Portuguese football community too! Very passionate, prone to going over the top sometimes, had many a battle against them in years gone by!
{Ed0666's Note - Those Portuguese are like the Irish they are everywhere ?
7.) 13 Jul 2022 19:26:08
And your point is Ed0666?.
{Ed0666's Note - That the Irish and Portuguese travel far and wide. Didn’t think I needed to elaborate Bazza as it was so self explanatory. But didn’t account for you Bazza my bad ?
8.) 13 Jul 2022 21:32:15
Very true Ed666.
I'm one of those South Africans of Portuguese descent ?
Got to day though, haven't met any Irish folk. ?.
9.) 14 Jul 2022 20:20:43
That's ok Ed0666 I was always the last at everything mate. JLCBM would you like my address mate?.
{Ed0666's Note - you’re Mrs told me you were catergotically not last at EVERYTHING
10.) 14 Jul 2022 21:40:54
Isn't the man that replaced Micheal Edwards, or is one of the senior members of scouting and recruting, didn't he spend time in portugal with national team or the national youth team and he has deep connections with portugese football because of that? I would expect for us to be getting plenty of signings from portugese league in the next couple of years.
11.) 14 Jul 2022 23:17:29
Jeez is she STILL going on about that one time in was in a rush to watch the footie ?.
12.) 15 Jul 2022 06:56:56
Hey Barry.
If the Irish are as straight forward as you, I'm glad I haven't met any ??????
Whatever happened to buying dinner first.
In all seriousness, happy that you are the first Irish person that I have met. even better that you're a fellow Liverpudlian.
13.) 16 Jul 2022 07:05:56
No point hanging about J I always go straight in.
14.) 16 Jul 2022 21:17:54
Is that why your name is Barry IN Louth. ??????.
17 Jun 2021 13:15:49
Ed002,
" Liverpool to hold talks with 22-year old PSV striker Donyell Malen. [Sky Sport]"
Nonsense or is there some truth here?
{Ed002's Note - I have explained for a number of months that Liverpool are keen.}
1.) 17 Jun 2021 14:36:41
If that’s the case I get you can put a strike through Patson Daka 😔.
2.) 17 Jun 2021 15:22:07
Regardless of the fact of who his agent is, no denying he’s one of the brightest talents in European football.
Personally I’d prefer Daka, but can’t argue against Malen being a smart signing.
3.) 17 Jun 2021 15:24:08
Leicester have reportedly bid for Patson Daka.
4.) 17 Jun 2021 17:05:19
To be honest, having not studied either of them in great detail (other than Sofifa or Youtube) they appear to be quite similar - pacy strikers who can also play out wide in a front 3.
One's done really well in the Dutch league, the other in the Austrian.
Prices quoted are not outrageous - Daka appears to be a bit cheaper at £17m vs £25m.
Has anyone seen them play regularly who could add more to the discussion? Which one would be a better fit?
{Ed0666's Note - personally I think Malen would be a better fit as he’s the natural scion to Bobby, has better movement than daka yet both are rapid.
5.) 17 Jun 2021 17:17:30
I don’t see anything on sky sports about this. Is it from a h
Papers / gossip section?
6.) 17 Jun 2021 19:14:52
Ed0666 I do remember Daka giving VVD and Gomez a very hard time in a friendly against RBS, I know it was only a friendly but he stood out a mile.
{Ed0666's Note - honestly mate I’d be happy with either. I like mallen as in my opinion he’d be a more seamless and integrate better to our style of play I think. And if he signed and did well it would annoy Ed 014 as he’s ex arsenal player
7.) 17 Jun 2021 20:06:40
Daka be going to Leicester.
8.) 17 Jun 2021 19:43:51
Ed's any chance that Salah / Mane will be sold this summer or will new contracts be offered instead? How will that game of chess play out, knowing how market traderesque Salah's agent is?
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any plans to sell either.}
9.) 17 Jun 2021 20:33:50
Daka is a more natural replacement for Vardy. He’d suit Leicester more than he would suit us. I would agree with Ed that Malen is more suited to our style of play if JK intended to play him centrally.
Always going to be difficult to find a replacement for Bobby that offers the same link up, although JK may think it’s time for a change up top and to adapt our style.
We need to find a way to beat a low block more next season as that was our downfall for a good few games. Striker will be an important position to get right for that.
10.) 17 Jun 2021 21:17:35
Malen does look a good player and decent value.
27 May 2019 12:54:30
Hi Eds,
Is there any updates on the fitness/ availability of the team for Saturday? Kieta aside, will we be at full strength?
{Ed001's Note - even Keita has a chance.}
1.) 27 May 2019 13:28:52
Hey Ed001, that's great to hear. Thanks for the Prompt reply. Have a good one.
{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}
2.) 27 May 2019 15:21:00
Ed001 - what chance do you give us for the final?
{Ed001's Note - ?}
3.) 27 May 2019 17:46:22
No point risking Keita, I’m sure one of gini or Milner will be on the bench plus ox probably. Even shaqiri if we need a goal. Keita has struggled with little niggles all season, and whilst I’d love for him to be involved, it’s too risky to even bring him on.
4.) 27 May 2019 20:05:17
Are you a doctor/ physio Firmane? I'm assuming you work for the club do you?
5.) 27 May 2019 22:19:58
Risky? If he gets a niggle he can play through it and then rest it on the beach in the Maldives drinking Mai Tais!
All hands to the pump for this game.
6.) 27 May 2019 23:17:50
I’m sorry for having an opinion on this site instanbul! Firstly, my thinking was if he had to come off again, we’d be down a sub. Secondly, the last niggle he got he couldn’t play on, nothing to do with beaches or what not, we need players who are 100% on the pitch. If spurs want to play Kane at 75% fine, but we have Gini Milner hendo Fabinho all pushing to start, with ox and shaqiri capable off the bench if needed.
Nothing against Keita one bit, he played great at the end of the season, but two weeks ago he couldn’t walk on it. why risk it?
7.) 28 May 2019 09:54:03
Sorry Firmane mate I meant no offence. Purely that if he’s on the bench it means that he’s been passed fit by the medical staff so if he’s the best man to come on then we should use him. No point being cautious in the last and biggest game of the season.
Even if he was 100% fit I wouldn’t see him starting this game. I don’t think Klopp trusts him completely defensively as much as say Hendo, Wiji or Milner.
8.) 28 May 2019 12:03:33
I second beckers post firmane, my reply was rather abrupt and I apologise for that. If he's fit and available it would be klopps decision wouldn't it.
12 May 2014 15:07:24
Hi Eds,
Is it true that Southampton are interested Enrique? If so, could we use that as a carrot for making a bid for Shaw as well or would he be used in the Lallana deal. If we went after Shaw, in your opinion, would we hold the advantage over Utd?
{Ed002's Note - Shaw doesn't figure in any of this.}
30 Dec 2013 15:39:22
Hi Eds,
Can you give us some idea of which players or positions we are actively looking at in January.
{Ed001's Note - full backs, wingers and central midfield.}

Haven't been this upset since Kenny resigned. Thanks Jurgen for everything. Truly a legend. I hope this had a galvanising effect on the team and they give eveything for him for the rest of the season.
1.) 26 Jan 2024 12:03:24
Just heard - absolutely gutted but at the same time so thankful for all that he brought us, sparkling entertaining football, and a sackful of trophies. Thank you Jurgen and good luck with whatever you do next.
2.) 26 Jan 2024 12:04:26
Can't believe it. timing is not great though. but he can't go on forever. what a manager and man klopp is . going to miss him being on the sidelines.
3.) 26 Jan 2024 14:10:41
There are no "good" times for such announcements. The club and the layers have known this since Nov; and wre doing an absolute madness since then so clearly, the timing is not an issue. They have been playing for him ever since he announced it to them.
14 Feb 2023 02:52:47
Pickford is as good as Allison, eh Ed025?
{Ed025's Note - not quite John but he’s not the problem for us mate..
1.) 14 Feb 2023 08:37:49
Not quite? ?
He's nowhere near as good as Allison.
2.) 14 Feb 2023 09:25:33
He's not quite as good as Alisson in the same sense than I'm not quite as good as Alisson.
3.) 14 Feb 2023 09:50:19
If Pickford actually focused on his job instead of trying to get the limelight and whinding oppos. fans up with his dumb antics, he could be a good GK.
Oh and he was at fault for both goals, end of cos if Allison had done the exact same things on both goals, we all and Ed25 would be saying the same thing.
4.) 14 Feb 2023 11:04:25
Alissons child will probably be better keeper than prickford ?.
06 Feb 2023 11:17:36
So, what we always suspected is now the subject of an official charge. Should, the charges stick and City are found guilty of breaking the rules, then they have to be stripped of the titles they won during the periods mentioned.
1.) 06 Feb 2023 11:31:46
Not going to happen tho Isit, cheeky fine.
{Ed025's Note - i think so too mate..
2.) 06 Feb 2023 11:41:27
Apparently they will be stripped of titles and trophies won if enough evidence proves that cheating acured.
The titles will not be passed down to teams finishing 2nd.
3.) 06 Feb 2023 11:47:42
Fine and transfer ban Notting else and they will appeal them and still sign players etc!
4.) 06 Feb 2023 12:05:58
They should be striped of everything they won . If they only get a points deduction or less i say time for us to start cooking the books. Win every title until 2030 then a take the points deduction in 2031 ?.
{Ed025's Note - every team cooks the books OK, liverpool included..
5.) 06 Feb 2023 12:42:12
I agree Ed that every team cooks the books to an extent, the difference is that it appears that City’s is a 27 course banquet.
{Ed025's Note - love it ODM..
6.) 06 Feb 2023 14:10:30
Pity we don't be saying every manager meets 6foot4"dutch defenders in Blackpool though do we? Different strokes for different folks as usual. ?.
7.) 06 Feb 2023 16:35:21
What strokes and folks are you talking about? There's obviously proof (100 occurences in 9 years) that indicates there's been cheating on ManCity's part. 100 separate occurences. In black and white that needs to be confirmed by further judicial review. And you're trying to equate that with one instance of a supposed event that's not been proven (but actively pushed by people with agendas)?
8.) 06 Feb 2023 16:50:07
Sorry, ED. If you have NEVER been caught cooking the books then, you cannot prove a darn thing. That said, City got caught and the stuff is out there now regardless of what happens to them. If people like me didn't care what City won before now, you think we would care more now? Sometimes, the court of public opinion is a BRUTAL place and they are guilty as sin on that front, IMO. Nobody cares what happens in the smoke-filled rooms or in a court of law at this point. Couldn't have happened to a nicer club.
9.) 06 Feb 2023 17:34:33
Not what im doing at all ArAy, the opposite in fact! What i was saying was that it does be assumed that Klopp is the only manager doing it on here while with an instance like today i think it was Ed25's words"every team cooks the books".
10.) 06 Feb 2023 18:20:23
Jude Nkunku, not every team does that. Nor does every team or manager tap up players.
21 Jan 2023 03:12:33
Would just like to congratulate and thank Jurgen for reaching 1000 games with us. It's been an amazing ride so far.
1.) 21 Jan 2023 08:34:15
I believe it's 1000 games in his career, not for us. 1000 games would be about 130 games a season if it was just for us! I did see the same news article you've seen though and nearly they had me for a moment too.
A great achievement for him personally to reach such a milestone with just 3 clubs.
01 Mar 2022 05:45:49
Anyone else notice that Mane had a big sour head on him after we won? He looked like he was just told his lottery numbers came in but he lost the ticket.
{Ed014's Note - he does seem a right miserable sod most of the time
1.) 01 Mar 2022 06:28:45
Absolute tosh, literally tons of videos of him dancing and celebrating, hugging Henderson while getting his medal.
That’s the issue with fans today, look for negatives when they should be celebrating.
2.) 01 Mar 2022 08:00:38
I think he was staying away from champagne.
3.) 01 Mar 2022 08:27:19
Triangle that was my point yesterday loads of people say he was not in the videos or photos in the Dressing room but there was other players and staff not there but nobody pointed them out.
Yeah he might have had a sulk when he got taken off so what what forward would have wanted to be taken off am sure if Salah had have gone off he would have acted the same.
4.) 01 Mar 2022 09:55:36
Mane like Salah is Muslim any form of Alcohol is prohibited . even Salah wasn't involved too much in the celebration like Mane. But seems every action of mane is judged now after Diaz purchase lol.
5.) 01 Mar 2022 10:19:36
The Champagne was non alcoholic.
6.) 01 Mar 2022 10:50:17
I believe he was both avoiding the alcohol during the celebrations, but in the dressing room it was my understanding he had to go pray perhaps?
7.) 01 Mar 2022 11:08:51
I really really don't get this. Liverpool won the league cup final after taking part in perhaps the best 0-0 ever and because Sadio isn't doing cartwheels all over the place it's become a thread. This is if I'm not mistaken a"Banter/ Rumours" site not a"Because a player isn't enjoining themselves then we have to question it"site🤦.
8.) 01 Mar 2022 12:11:43
Well said Barry. Enjoy the win in what as you rightly said was one of the best 0-0 draws in memory. Both teams deserve a lot of credit. But we won.
9.) 01 Mar 2022 12:16:04
players regularly get pulled in for random drug tests straight after games, meaning they miss the initial celebrations etc. The words mountain and mole hill come to mind.
10.) 01 Mar 2022 12:19:03
Maybe imred but Mane isn't going to risk and damage he's reputation back home just like Salah wasn't involved much.
11.) 01 Mar 2022 12:24:08
Oh wow, what's the matter? Did Sadio not dance or smile enuff for some of you on here? Don't worry, I have a word with him to be sure to celebrate much better next time so as nobody's feelings get hurt.
12.) 01 Mar 2022 12:45:46
Excatly OliRed ðŸ‘.
13.) 01 Mar 2022 12:50:58
He was definitely having a bit of a sulk. He walked off during the celebrations in front of the main advert board on the pitch and then went for a pray during the celebrations in the dressing room.
14.) 01 Mar 2022 14:45:21
Ahhh the lack of celebration
There was a time Salah wasn’t celebrating well enough as his smile wasn’t wide enough
So now the issue is with mane.
15.) 01 Mar 2022 15:59:09
I'd have a sour head on if I was given non alcoholic champagne to celebrate with.
Mane might just be pacing himself for the three bigger celebrations this season.
That's a joke, btw; I'm not getting carried away.
16.) 02 Mar 2022 01:09:07
@Barry - well said that man.
We’ve got a cup match tomorrow which will put us into the quarter finals of the FA Cup when we win - we should be focussing on that but it seems the topic of the week is going to be a bit of Sadio bashing. It won’t last long though as it’s likely Naby will play against Norwich.
25 Nov 2024 14:34:21
It's pretty clear they didn't think they'd be seeing a PFA player of the year performance from Salah but that's exactly what we're getting from him 22 g/ a in all comps already and we're not even in December.
25 Nov 2024 13:28:58
Anyone who thinks Salah isn't worth his weight in gold is absolute bonkers. The guy is a machine. Doesn't drink, doesn't party. Has the body of an Olympic sprinter, never gets Injured and could go on another 4 years at this level. What the f*** are we waiting for.
30 Nov 2022 14:12:11
Declan Rice could be a Roy Keane type signing for us.
13 Jul 2022 14:48:27
Thanks Ed, have a good one.
09 Jun 2022 12:16:28
Speaking of ITK, what ever happened to the fat lad from Bolton and Macca?
29 Aug 2024 12:20:55
Personally I think ed002 has access to a palantír and that's part of the reason he hath no patience for us fools.
30 Apr 2024 07:42:36
The reality of the situation is that Mo hasn't been the same since the African Cup of Nations, he's about to turn 32, is on 350 k a week and has 1 ywar left on his contract. If the rumours were true, the Saudis were prepared to pay stupid money for him last summer, and it's safe to say they'll still pay crazy money to have one of the most visible truly world class Muslim players in their league.
Mo's legacy is cemented, he'll go down as the best right winger in prem history and one of the best goal scorers. We sell and use the money to improve.
27 Apr 2024 13:27:43
We can no longer defend and can't score for rubbish. So much for mentality monsters and inspiration. Pathetic is a good word.
25 Apr 2024 03:00:38
Congrats Ed25, I hope this gives you soke solitude and for a few days at least you can hold your head up hig around town.
{Ed025's Note - i think thats us safe now John, its miles from the performance against Chelsea mate but you did make it easy for us..
25 Apr 2024 02:59:18
So much for the mentality monsters. Klopps leaving and prior to the Cup game against United we had the title in ours hands, since then we've fallen apart in all comps and this with our full squad basically back.
Things that need sorted by the new manager
Vvd needs a proper defender beside him who's not going to get injured every other game
Trent is not a defender and has never been. Either play him in midfield or sell him for 120 million and buy.
We need a proper DM to protect the defence.
We also need at least 2 strikers who can actually score. Salah is a legend and I will always love him but he's done, get as much as we can from the Suads and buy.
