Well at least that's the end of the Ceballos links, he's off to Arsenal on loan.
Who's next on the list? :)

1.) 25 Jul 2019 18:56:04
Sounds like a good deal. Didn’t need him but it has strengthened close opponents.

{Ed001's Note - no he has joined Arsenal, not a close opponent.}

2.) 25 Jul 2019 19:19:18
Ooooh tension in the Ed house, Ed047 won't like that Ed001 :)

{Ed001's Note - he would agree I am sure. He has to or his missus will have words as she is a Liverpool fan.}

3.) 25 Jul 2019 19:49:49
To be honest I’m not that fussed about this, I would rather not do any dealings with Real Madrid.

4.) 26 Jul 2019 13:27:55
Very good ED. We will see, we springboarded quite well after a Europa final loss under a good manager just getting his ideas imbedded. I think Arsenal can improve a lot from last season.

{Ed047's Note - I wish I could argue with Ed01 but sadly I can’t, mainly because she would kick off! 😂

Honestly I think Everton are really showing signs of improvement, getting the missing pieces into the team and really building a spine to challenge.
Now that's the u10's sorted.

BTW the Everton first team are crap :)

{Ed025's Note - i like that polecat, i can live with giving a bit of stick mate and its all fair in my book, lots of people tell lies and thats just the way good luck for the coming season.. :)

1.) 17 Jul 2019 09:54:14
I think Everton will do a lot better this season they are building a decent side and got better as the season went on last year.

2.) 17 Jul 2019 16:08:26
Everton are only 2 Centre Backs and Top quality forward away from being a darkhorse next season for me. They also finished the season fairly strongly so if they can pick it up at the start of this season they could ones to watch.

{Ed001's Note - goalkeeper? Their keeper is crap. Right winger? Walcott is awful. Central midfield? They don't have any real quality in there. They are a long way away from being a dark horse, because that would suggest they are capable of challenging for the title and they simply are nowhere near it. They lack any back up of real quality. I wish they were ready to challenge with us, but they have a long way to go yet.}

3.) 17 Jul 2019 11:31:29
Hiya ed025, I really think Everton have strong chance to break into top 6 or even 4, Arsenal, United and Chelsea are in a bit of a mess at the moment and you guys building in the right direction so hopefully you can do it . Glad you kept Gomez and I think Delph is a good edition, he improved quite a bit under Pep.

{Ed025's Note - top 4 might be stretching it a bit roy, but i think we are as good as the 3 you mentioned mate..

4.) 17 Jul 2019 12:47:49
Not by selling Lookman. He is a genuine talent from what I have seen and given a chance could have solved a long standing problem for Everton.

{Ed025's Note - i dont pretend to know whats going on with ademola klucas, but a succession of managers have failed to give him a run in the side so there is something wrong somewhere mate...but what i dont know as i think hes a talent..

5.) 17 Jul 2019 19:38:00
Silva should be given time. I think that's the problem. Everton have looked like a half built team for the last 3/ 4 years. They get a new manager in, he makes a few signings, fan expectation goes way up (probably too much too soon) and when they're not in the top 6 (or drop out of the top half) the manager is sacked. A new guy with new ideas comes in and its start all over again. Silva is a good manager imho, he has over achieved for the most part with his time in the premier league.

Forget the rivalry with liverpool. Its not being rude by saying we are in a different class, its just a fact. Not many teams on the planet are in our class atm. Everton are screaming out for a bit of stability. And i think you're right ed025 - chelsea, utd and arsenal are there for the taking.

6.) 17 Jul 2019 20:12:11
Ed01 is correct to a point. Everton are nowhere near buting into the top 6 anytime soon. IMO, Leicester and Wolves are a much better chance of doing that than Everton do cos well, they have the better teams, better players and to a point, better managers.

Everton by my calculation, have spent almost 250m in the past two summers for the dross we saw in the first season under Koeman and the average season we saw last season. Of all the signings they made, only Zouma (who is not even and Everton player) held his own and that is cos he is a very good defender that I rate. The others have been poor.

Walcott, Klassen, Tosun etc all dross. And the "genius" that let Lookman go to RB should be sacked ASAP? And you wonder why Everton can't get anywhere. Before they can bust into the top 6, they are going to have to sort their transfer strategy out first, something they are terrible at for now.

A question for any of the edds that might want to answer, at what point does the number of new players coming to a club destabilise the team?
We have seen this happen before.

{Ed001's Note - there is no set number.}

1.) 16 Jul 2018 23:41:01
The 23st player.

30 Oct 2016 19:36:42
I said at the start of the season that we would buy the two missing defenders in the January window and going by Jurgens comments yesterday I'm guessing he has a CB and LB lined up. With James Milner playing so well, when fit, I'd guess the LB could be that young Celtic LB mentioned below which will give him time to settle and be ready for next season. Any idea Eds on who our new CB might be?

{Ed001's Note - Tierney suffered an ankle ligament injury which will rule him out for about 2 months.}

1.) 31 Oct 2016 07:47:06
I would rather we wait till the summer for targets. Who in their right mind would sell quality defenders in Jan especially when there is already a shortage of them in the game today? Would love someone like Tah or the lad from Hoffenheim and to get quality like that, i think the club should wait till the summer to get that. Lovren and Milner are more than good enough to see us through this season for a top4 place.

2.) 31 Oct 2016 08:08:18
Thiago Silva wouldn't be a bad option. Plenty of top flight experience and he is in his final year of contract waiting for an offer from PSG. The couple of names mentioned would cost us heavy.

3.) 31 Oct 2016 08:26:07
Yep, i'm sure Thiago would be more than happy to play for a couple of grand a week and an Aldi discount voucher.

{Ed001's Note - I heard he prefers Netto.}

4.) 31 Oct 2016 08:30:13
over rated.

5.) 01 Nov 2016 01:26:36
Thiago Silva? No thanks. The World Cup has destroyed his career and he's become average for both club and country. In fact, he's no longer with the Brazil team anymore.

Lets hope they scout the next manager as well as they scout for players.
I don't think it would be a good idea to appoint Stevie as he would have too much of a connection to the club which can cloud judgment, unless he proves to be an outstanding manager in the mean time.

If Everton had a few players as good as him maybe they wouldn't have finished 43 points behind LFC?

{Ed025's Note - your right would have been 53, its yet another case of liverpool supporters over hyping one of their players, hes bench fodder and no more mate as next season will prove ( that is of course if they cant get shut of him)..

We beat West Ham away 3-2 Divock scored
We beat Everton at home 1-0 Divock scored
We beat Barcelona at home 4-0 Divock scored
We beat Spurs in CL final 2-0 Divock scored
He played 673mins and scored 7 goals and has a goal average of 1 every 96mins in 2018/ 19
He will sit on the bench and wait his chance and doesn't sulk.
When we needed him this season he was there.
Jose Mourinho speaking on RT said after the CL final that players like Divock are like gold dust. Jurgen it seems wants to offer him a new contract and people on here want rid of him?
He cost Liverpool £8mil, would people prefer we sold him and spent £50mil for someone else to sit on the bench and disrupt the squad because he's not getting a game?

{Ed025's Note - sounds like a brilliant player polecat, so if he had of played more maybe you would have won the league?, does that mean that klopp picked the wrong team at times?...maybe jurgen is not as good as i thought mate..

Ed001 on the money again, all the news about Koulibaly being "immense" but no mention of Salah leaving him sitting on his ass like he did last year. Get them back to Anfield and watch the sparks fly and totally different headlines.

I think the first half was brilliant from both teams, a real good game. It fell away a bit in the second half and only for the ref/ VAR mistake with penalty the game would most likely have ended in a deserved draw that both teams would have been happy with. It was a very tough match and it's a bit early in the season to be whining about a "poor performance" when the players from both sides put so much into that first half of the game. Up to the penalty I didn't think Napoli really troubled us too much.
Anyway, we have a long season ahead so let's not start complaining about players, I'll leave that to Jurgen if needed.

(Ed025's Note - yeah but if his team lost he would probably spit at his opposition manager instead of a handshake berg. dirty filthy animal. )

It would just go to show Ed, no matter how hard LFC tried and how long he played for LFC, Carra always kept that little bit of Bitters deep inside him.

Tally Ho.

{Ed025's Note - it would not matter to me if he was an evertonian, liverpudlian or a mongolian petro chemist polecat, spitting is deplorable and the most insulting act any human being can do to another, in fact i would rather be punched in the kipper than spat at mate, i happened to like carra actually because he was a local lad done well and i like that, but you can take the lad out the gutter but you cant take the gutter out of the lad unfortunately..

Correct me if I'm wrong Ed but I believe Liverpool are not there by their own choice.

{Ed002's Note - No, that is not the reason.}

Tris I think you went too easy on Parry, he did nothing but cause long term damage to the club and supporters. But it is true the more incompetent some people are the higher they climb.
A great read that should be pasted up beside the Shankley Gates as a history lesson to the young 'uns.
Well done Ed.

{Ed001's Note - I feel I was a bit soft on him as well. It is probably the only time I have referred to him without an expletive between the Prick and the Parry....}
