Well at least that's the end of the Ceballos links, he's off to Arsenal on loan.
Who's next on the list? :)

1.) 25 Jul 2019 18:56:04
Sounds like a good deal. Didn’t need him but it has strengthened close opponents.

{Ed001's Note - no he has joined Arsenal, not a close opponent.}

2.) 25 Jul 2019 19:19:18
Ooooh tension in the Ed house, Ed047 won't like that Ed001 :)

{Ed001's Note - he would agree I am sure. He has to or his missus will have words as she is a Liverpool fan.}

3.) 25 Jul 2019 19:49:49
To be honest I’m not that fussed about this, I would rather not do any dealings with Real Madrid.

4.) 26 Jul 2019 13:27:55
Very good ED. We will see, we springboarded quite well after a Europa final loss under a good manager just getting his ideas imbedded. I think Arsenal can improve a lot from last season.

{Ed047's Note - I wish I could argue with Ed01 but sadly I can’t, mainly because she would kick off! 😂

RIP Michael Robinson, what a great season.

Indeed Polecat. A treble in his one season at Liverpool. More than most players get in a career. RIP Michael Robinson.

A question to ED002 if you are around, what is your thoughts on having an "assistant" manager, considering what's going on across Stanley Park, and who would think appointing one to a world class manager, is a good idea?

{Ed002's Note - It depends on the individuals, division of responsibilities and the roles. I am not sure what you are referring to at Everton - Carlo A has his son Davide helping out - traditionally he is more of a fitness coach. Duncan F is certainly helping out with the coaching. Some managers have a strategist in that role - Klipperty had Buvac but that ended in tears and now he has the more straight down the line Lijnders.}

1.) 09 Jan 2020 21:47:26
Anymore on that Ed. Why is lijnders more straight down the line in comparison to Buvac?

Also Ed. Is Buvac with another club now?

{Ed002's Note - They are completely different people. Buvac turned down a coaching role last year.}

Did anyone else watch the Copa Libertadores final?
What a turn around. Flamengo 2 - 1 River Plate.
With River Plate scoring early and cruising they let it slip at the end and got beat, with a few sendings off thrown in at the end.
Liverpool should beat these when/ if we meet in the final of the Club World Cup. River Plate played a LFC type sept-up and got up the wings regularly and controlled the game. until they lost it. This is the same way Liverpool will beat them, the difference is we get stronger at the end.
Time for some revenge!

1.) 24 Nov 2019 09:41:24
My favorite team against my third favorite team (Flamengo) . going to be a night of mixed feelings. 😏.

2.) 24 Nov 2019 13:39:18
Loved Flamengo as well growing up. The legendary Zico and Romario playec there and I watched them play there as a kid. Flamengo should not be taken lightly, IMO cos Felipe Luiz (ex Chelsea and Atletico Madrid LB) and Gabigol currently play there.

3.) 24 Nov 2019 18:38:30
Not to mention Rodrigo Caio, Everton Ribeiro, Diego and Reiner (all either past or current senior national players - Reiner being a youth player) . Not a team to be taken lightly at all. And they're way ahead in their league already this year. But I think we are due our revenge for their beating us in the World Club Cup all those years ago.

Honestly I think Everton are really showing signs of improvement, getting the missing pieces into the team and really building a spine to challenge.
Now that's the u10's sorted.

BTW the Everton first team are crap :)

{Ed025's Note - i like that polecat, i can live with giving a bit of stick mate and its all fair in my book, lots of people tell lies and thats just the way good luck for the coming season.. :)

1.) 17 Jul 2019 09:54:14
I think Everton will do a lot better this season they are building a decent side and got better as the season went on last year.

2.) 17 Jul 2019 16:08:26
Everton are only 2 Centre Backs and Top quality forward away from being a darkhorse next season for me. They also finished the season fairly strongly so if they can pick it up at the start of this season they could ones to watch.

{Ed001's Note - goalkeeper? Their keeper is crap. Right winger? Walcott is awful. Central midfield? They don't have any real quality in there. They are a long way away from being a dark horse, because that would suggest they are capable of challenging for the title and they simply are nowhere near it. They lack any back up of real quality. I wish they were ready to challenge with us, but they have a long way to go yet.}

3.) 17 Jul 2019 11:31:29
Hiya ed025, I really think Everton have strong chance to break into top 6 or even 4, Arsenal, United and Chelsea are in a bit of a mess at the moment and you guys building in the right direction so hopefully you can do it . Glad you kept Gomez and I think Delph is a good edition, he improved quite a bit under Pep.

{Ed025's Note - top 4 might be stretching it a bit roy, but i think we are as good as the 3 you mentioned mate..

4.) 17 Jul 2019 12:47:49
Not by selling Lookman. He is a genuine talent from what I have seen and given a chance could have solved a long standing problem for Everton.

{Ed025's Note - i dont pretend to know whats going on with ademola klucas, but a succession of managers have failed to give him a run in the side so there is something wrong somewhere mate...but what i dont know as i think hes a talent..

5.) 17 Jul 2019 19:38:00
Silva should be given time. I think that's the problem. Everton have looked like a half built team for the last 3/ 4 years. They get a new manager in, he makes a few signings, fan expectation goes way up (probably too much too soon) and when they're not in the top 6 (or drop out of the top half) the manager is sacked. A new guy with new ideas comes in and its start all over again. Silva is a good manager imho, he has over achieved for the most part with his time in the premier league.

Forget the rivalry with liverpool. Its not being rude by saying we are in a different class, its just a fact. Not many teams on the planet are in our class atm. Everton are screaming out for a bit of stability. And i think you're right ed025 - chelsea, utd and arsenal are there for the taking.

6.) 17 Jul 2019 20:12:11
Ed01 is correct to a point. Everton are nowhere near buting into the top 6 anytime soon. IMO, Leicester and Wolves are a much better chance of doing that than Everton do cos well, they have the better teams, better players and to a point, better managers.

Everton by my calculation, have spent almost 250m in the past two summers for the dross we saw in the first season under Koeman and the average season we saw last season. Of all the signings they made, only Zouma (who is not even and Everton player) held his own and that is cos he is a very good defender that I rate. The others have been poor.

Walcott, Klassen, Tosun etc all dross. And the "genius" that let Lookman go to RB should be sacked ASAP? And you wonder why Everton can't get anywhere. Before they can bust into the top 6, they are going to have to sort their transfer strategy out first, something they are terrible at for now.

16 Jul 2018 21:27:47
A question for any of the edds that might want to answer, at what point does the number of new players coming to a club destabilise the team?
We have seen this happen before.

{Ed001's Note - there is no set number.}

1.) 16 Jul 2018 23:41:01
The 23st player.

Once again Ed002 gets it all wrong. Mbappe is IN THE BAG, joining in June but will go straight into the u23's until he learns the ropes. Should see him start in the Caraboa Cup to ease him into the team and maybe Premier League games after the winter break.

Thanks Ed002 for your unending knowledge. ;)

Before the start of the Leicester City news conference it was being said to the media something about an "embargo on the information" and they would be informed later.
Any idea Eds what the info was and when it will be released?

{Ed002's Note - I suspect someone is teasing you on Twitter or something like that. Such things simply don't happen.}

When Spurs did this to their non playing staff I said here I hoped our club would not let anyone walk alone, but what I feared happened. The management and playing staff are getting their £100s of thousands a week but staff that cut the grass and make the meals or clean up after them for a hell of a lot less are being left to walk alone.
I don't care what the PFA say this was a chance for the players to make a stand with the rest of the staff and show what this clubs ethos was all about, they failed.
At times like this who do they think they are? Nurses? Doctors? Decent co-workers? No, just greedy entertainers who think it is tough because for the first time in their adult lives they have to cook their own food.
This has made me sick of football, let the season be cancelled.
