Edd002 what's amorims personality like. Do you see him with your knowledge being able to manage big egos and make this step up?

MIZER

{Ed002's Note - Ruben Amorim (C) Manchester United may offer an option - another option will be Liverpool, but knows he was not first choice - but I think they will move for him with Alonso not interested and I think he would be a good choice and a good fit. Do not rule out Barcelona but Deco has a preferred option whilst the board want to persuade Xavi to stay or to move quicky for Amorim. If needs force the situation and given the likely link between the club and Sporting, Chelsea may start pushing having spoken with him before. Newcastle will offer a wildcard option and will pay the termination clause and the cost of terminating his staff but they will not be an attractive option.}

1.) 04 Apr 2024 01:49:17
Thanks Ed002, I didn’t expect Chelsea or Newcastle to be changing managers this summer.

2.) 04 Apr 2024 07:31:46
Morning eds2
Can a club pay the termination clause now or do they have to wait until the end of the season. ?

{Ed002's Note - He won't be moving before the end of the season.}

31 Mar 2024 22:04:28
Edd002 who are we looking at to replace salah this summer if he likely leaves?

MIZER

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

1.) 01 Apr 2024 10:47:21
Is the CB list that Liv looking at has change with the appointment of Richard Hughes Ed? Or is it still the same as few months ago?

{Ed002's Note - He doesn't start until June so it will remain the Klopp, Fallows, Hunter list.}

2.) 01 Apr 2024 11:40:53
Never heard of Yes before. Who does he play for?

3.) 01 Apr 2024 13:02:10
Reading back Leroy sane is liked, Pedro neto is possible.

Previous links have been Bowen (but very costly)

I like bryan mubemo ?.

4.) 01 Apr 2024 13:25:55
I'd go with Kudus.

5.) 01 Apr 2024 13:28:12
Does anyone know what a Liv is?

6.) 01 Apr 2024 14:18:41
Yes Terday
Good player!

7.) 01 Apr 2024 14:29:08
I would be very surprised if we continued our pursuit of Leroy Sane. I imagine he was a Klopp pick. Would be pretty strange to bring someone on his salary and at his age into Liverpool with the manager on the outer.

Likewise, Bowen would cost a fortune from West Ham and it's probably a couple of years too late now. There are two other left footers at West Ham that would be preferable in Kudus and Paqueta, though very unlikely.

We were linked with Johan Bakayoko last summer so I assume that interest remains and I assume Nico Williams is also on the list.

Michael Olise is probably going to leave Palace this summer. Sounds like Chelsea and City may have already put in the groundwork though.

Whether Moussa Diaby is gettable from Villa I am not sure, especially if they make Champions League.

Kubo (Real Sociedad), Pino (Villarael) and Soule (Juventus) are other names that may come up but I don't think I have seen us linked with them, nor do I know if they are feasible.

We will also have to decide what we want to do with Ben Doak and Kaide Gordon who both play right wing. Keiran Morrison who is the prospect that everyone in the academy is talking about at the moment is a left footed attacking midfielder that likes to play off the right.

At a guess it'll be between Bakayoko and Williams.

8.) 01 Apr 2024 15:21:17
Kubo has a €60m release clause FPF.

9.) 01 Apr 2024 17:14:03
Maybe if amorim gets the job it won't be a winger but more of a no.10 type player.

10.) 01 Apr 2024 23:49:56
Pedro Neto is quality but is quite injury prone and we have enough of them players . its Bowen for me .

11.) 02 Apr 2024 10:04:29
Bowen is too old (28 in December) and would cost too much (England international playing at West Ham on a very long contract, they’d want at least as much as they got for Rice) . Feel that one is two years too late.

Sane is over rated, too old (29 in January), would cost too much and he has said on multiple occasions he has no interest in joining us (that should be more than enough to bin off any interest in him) . I wouldn’t waste a five minute call to his agent let alone send scouts to watch him)

Neto is a bit injury prone and his output doesn’t suggest that he’s remotely capable of stepping up. He’s a spursy type player.

Kudus I can’t see happening, again dealing with West Ham automatically means it’s going to be ridiculously hard to negotiate as they will ask for stupid money. I wouldn’t bet on us signing Pacquetta either (neither would he in fairness) .

Johan Bakayoko isn’t exactly setting the world alight in a relatively weak league.

Yeremy Pino has been out virtually all season with a serious injury, that’s a hard pass.

Moussa Diaby feels like one we should have got when he was at Leverkusen, Villa will be asking for stupid money.

Nico Williams doesn’t really have the end product to justify the price.

Olise will end up at City, United or Chelsea.

I think we should have a look at Rafa Leao at Milan. He’s at a good age, he’s scoring and creating at a similar level to Salah when he joined us, he’s also that kind of player who is just under the level of being top class, but could get there with the right coaching and management, more than that. He’s also lightning quick and physically imposing too.

{Ed002's Note - Leao won't be joining Liverpool.}

12.) 02 Apr 2024 10:30:04
Would Joao Felix be a option?

Appreciate he currently plays LW for Barcelona but he is versatile and talented. Perhaps he could finally realize his full potential with Liverpool.

Suspect he could be available in the summer.

{Ed002's Note - No, he is not an option for Liverpool.

24 Mar 2024 19:19:57
Edd002 Evan ferguson, have Liverpool any interest atm or any other clubs? Big fan of the lad.

MIZER

{Ed002's Note - There is no interest from Liverpool but there is from elsewhere but largely dependent on clubs losing preferred options.}

1.) 25 Mar 2024 08:46:07
Everyone's waxing lyrical about this chap but I genuinely don't know what they are watching, because every time I watch Brighton he starts on the bench and has 6 goals in 35 appearances.

2.) 25 Mar 2024 08:59:51
Didn’t he score a hat trick at the start of the season that had some of the ‘less grounded’ on social media putting him in the £100m bracket?

3.) 25 Mar 2024 09:21:25
He's 19 and has all thr right attributes. He's going to be top drawer if he can avoid injuries.

4.) 25 Mar 2024 10:27:57
He's 19 and is playing in an average team that's constantly being chopped and changed by someone who, imo, is an average manager. Half his 36 appearances have been off the bench.

That being said, I suspect he won't end up as good as Nunez, so what's the point?

5.) 25 Mar 2024 11:30:20
Harry Kane wasn’t tearing up trees at 19 or 20 either and should’ve become the all time prem top scorer. As an isolated stat, 6 in 35 for a mid table team at 19 years old isn’t eye watering, but then isolated stats never give any context either.

6.) 25 Mar 2024 19:36:45
I think he is another player that I hear how good he is jet every time I see him he looks bang average like Timo Werner and Caicedo I believed the hype and hope we signed both and am so glad we didn’t.
I really hope we go nowhere near him I would rather have Danns in the squad rather than blowing £100+m on another vastly overrated player.

7.) 25 Mar 2024 23:43:41
@QV what’s Kane got to do with Ferguson?

On a separate note - “all time” started in August 1992 did it?

8.) 26 Mar 2024 11:21:15
West Derby Wanderer - He did say all time Prem, so yeah that did start in 1992. He didn't say all time top flight did he?

9.) 26 Mar 2024 11:23:05
Lack of pace could be a problem he is a bit of a lump who would rely on being in the right place at the right time and long distance shooting. Not Liverpool standard just yet but if he can master his movement and build up play ya never know. We currently have the second best striker in the world but a suitable understudy should be looked for. Gakpo is a midfielder end of.

10.) 26 Mar 2024 16:19:56
WDW, I mean sure, I was thinking of using the example of a young Gandhi, but then I thought using another striker may be more relevant.

I was pointing out that you don't have to look world class at 19 to become world class a few short years later. I don't think anyone predicted Kane was destined to become the player he has become and therefore, the relevance of Ferguson’s goal record now on what he may or may not become is virtually nil. It’s called a comparison.

As Gunn10 pointed out, I did say all time PREM top scorer so obviously although not 100 percent fool proof, id say its a long enough length of time with a large enough player pool to judge a player’s ability against.

01 Jan 2024 19:25:06
Ed002 is Thuram signing for us possible at all in January? Thanks.

MIZER

{Ed002's Note - I believe there is a chance but a very significant number of posters clearly don’t want him.}

1.) 02 Jan 2024 09:50:44
Ed002 I think he's fantastic and could be special for us. Thanks for the update. Hopefully the club go for him, I'd be delighted.

2.) 02 Jan 2024 09:58:56
I think he would flourish under Klopp.

3.) 02 Jan 2024 17:32:44
Thuram seems like a great player who has simply gone stale to many because his name has been in the news for the better part of a year. He would be an incredible addition for Liverpool, although I'm not sure I see the dire need.

4.) 03 Jan 2024 09:22:58
It's strange alright Ed002 why Liverpool 'supporters' wouldn't want Liverpool to sign one of their targets. Until he goes to City of course and then it'll be OMG How did we miss out on him? For shame!

{Ed002's Note - They turn easily on past, present and potential future players Jurgen.}

13 Aug 2023 14:57:46
Edd002 you mentioned that Liverpool have moved away from thuram? Why is that. I knew he wants the psg move but its not looking likely this summer and you'd said if the caicedo deal falls through Liverpool could look to him as an optio6as well as united. I'm just wondering why he's no longer looking a possible option? Thanks.

MIZER

{Ed002's Note - They thought him too expensive and it looks like he will bide his time in Nice, although there is now growing interest in him from elsewhere.}

1.) 13 Aug 2023 15:26:25
More expensive than the offer made for Caicedo ed002?

{Ed002's Note - No. You all need to step away from the money.}

2.) 13 Aug 2023 15:42:52
Manchester United are interested apparently.

3.) 13 Aug 2023 16:16:26
Some of these players that are deemed too expensive will go on to be world class, so how do you make that call?
Was Thuram was priced around 40m?

{Ed002's Note - A but higher.}

4.) 13 Aug 2023 18:21:24
I presume the payment structure needs to be considered when some players are deemed too expensive.

2 players may be 50 or 60m each. But one club may want the bulk of the 50m upfront whilst the other is happy to have it over a couple of years. Any clubs budget will vary depending on the cash they have on the initial outlay and it will then impact other signings.

5.) 14 Aug 2023 08:03:07
I’m sick and tired of all these clubs trying to over charge us for their players.

Hopefully we can sell Phillips for 170 mill we’re asking for and then use 3 mill of that to offer in instalment’s to the 18th choice Dm on our most wanted list.

29 Jun 2024 16:47:27
Gordon would have been a great buy at a reasonable price. Would have been a great option in certain games to stretch certain teams and a great option from the bench.

MIZER

1.) 29 Jun 2024 17:09:20
And suppose the price being offered was above the level you consider "reasonable"? Given Newcastle were suggesting it, I doubt they'd have left themselves short.

2.) 29 Jun 2024 17:31:03
Is there any truth in the rumours about Newcastle wanting to take Quansah as part of the deal, or is it just pure Twitter speculation?

For me, Gordon would be a major downgrade on what we already have.

3.) 29 Jun 2024 17:36:16
With us being heavily linked to Gordon today do we think that's the biggest hint yet that the writing is on the wall for Diaz.

4.) 29 Jun 2024 18:03:22
Apparently they wanted Quansah included in a deal worth £100m in total. Quite right we turned that down. If they need a CB, maybe we could offer them van den Berg or Gomez in a deal worth more like £75m.

Gordon is a very good player who can play LW/ CF/ RW. Also a home-grown and a Liverpool fan. With that in mind he’d be a good signing if Diaz were to leave.

5.) 29 Jun 2024 19:04:54
I think Gordon gets 15 plus goals a season playing for us. He's the type that would thrive for us imo and with slot being apparently a great coach the lad can only improve. Regardless we've moved on.

6.) 29 Jun 2024 20:11:58
Gomez and 75m are you joking? I think Gordon could be a decent signing but not at that those sorts of fees and certainly not talented players like Gomez who is very reliable.

7.) 29 Jun 2024 20:36:44
Doubt anyone wants Gonez @MK. That being said Gordon is a decent player, he has blistering pace and is at a very good age for development. Salah also came with the same reputation. Didn’t he?

8.) 29 Jun 2024 20:41:09
I said offer Gomez or Sepp in a deal worth £75m. Not Gomez plus £75m. I’d say Gomez is worth roughly £25m in today’s market so a deal worth £75m would be Gomez + £50m (based on my subjective valuation of Gomez) .

Before you jump down someone’s throat, maybe ask yourself if you have actually bothered to understand what’s been written in future you muppet ?

To simplify it for you I think Gordon is worth £75m based on similar profile transfers and I would rather use Gomez or Sepp as a makeweight than Quansah; a 21 year old club trained player who ended the season as a starting CB for us. It wasn’t an unreasonable comment at all so wind your neck in.

9.) 29 Jun 2024 21:58:23
Could someone please tell me how Gordon would improves us?

10.) 29 Jun 2024 22:59:35
MK, seems a bit of an overreaction response there, especially from yourself.
Anyway, regarding your first comment, why trade a home grown, Liverpool supporting player who can play across the whole back line on an area considered our weakest (defence) for a Liverpool supporting player who, let's be honest, wouldn't strengthen an already congested forward line.

11.) 29 Jun 2024 23:11:11
He's better in front of goal than Diaz. He created 16 big chances this season Diaz has 9 since he joined. Gordon is on an upward trajectory he'll keep getting better. He'll be at one of the bigger clubs soon. Diaz was better 2 years ago before he got injured away to Arsenal he's been very average since. We can do better than Gordon but he'd definitely improve us. He can play on the right too. Ticks a lot of boxes but the price spoken about is crazy.

12.) 29 Jun 2024 21:03:54
We don’t want Gordon according to the BBC - it was Newcastle pushing. Apparently.

13.) 29 Jun 2024 21:27:23
Does Liverpool have a left wing fetish? I hear tradition is a left wing city but maybe this is too far?

14.) 30 Jun 2024 00:24:11
Gordan only if Diaz leaves and Gordan is much younger and English
plus he is good mates with curtis Jones.

15.) 30 Jun 2024 08:19:05
What I don’t get is we have had a pile on certain players the last couple of weeks whether it was jone or Konate but seem happy to sign a player most have slagged off for his dives and behaviour in Gordon . we have a player who hasn’t been played often in his natural position often.

16.) 30 Jun 2024 08:45:28
Im surprised people think another club would take Gomez for more than a grain of salt given how average he is described as on here.

17.) 29 Jun 2024 21:32:57
I would probably straight swap Diaz for Gordon. Whatever we get for Diaz I would have been happy spending it on Gordon.

Isn’t this a mad dash by NUFC to meet PSR deadline tomorrow? It could still be on.

{Ed002's Note - Newcastle has no interest in Diaz.}

18.) 30 Jun 2024 11:43:30
MK nothing needs simplifying, read your original post and what you’ve insinuated and I reiterate you must be joking. I don’t care what faux numbers you're propagating, but your initial point was rubbish. You’re one of a small merry band of posters who think they’re some sort of editorial figure, when generally your points virtuous crap. “Muppet”.

19.) 30 Jun 2024 11:21:05
Sorry Ed002, I didn’t make it clear.
I meant from a financial POV. i. e. if Diaz were to go for £50m then I’d be comfortable using £50m to sign Gordon. In terms of the squad, I’m happy with a straight swap Gordon for Diaz. Money wise I think they’ll probably attract similar fees.

{Ed002's Note - I see Ron. Of course it doesn't work like that - but I have spoken to a couple of people about Gordon now and can give an update:

Anthony Gordon (LW/F) I find it very surprising that Liverpool have indeed enquired after Gordon as an option ahead of others they have been considering as a Luiz replacement including Federico Chiesa. Newcastle may be open to a sale if the player pushes - which he may do considering the circumstances he left Everton under. There is no indication, beyond an initial enquiry, how far any discussions have gone nor the potential structure of any deal.}

20.) 30 Jun 2024 17:33:22
Mk you troll Gomez daily you do realise his friend square tomato is on here leave it out for a day will you nobody else is as critical as him and he was one of our best players last season we would be screwed without his versatility he took over the milner role.

21.) 30 Jun 2024 20:24:24
Colonel, I don’t troll Gomez. I’ve said I think he is a player we can improve on and along with Tsimikas I’ve said they’re the weakest senior players in the squad. But i’ve also said Gomez might suit Slot’s fluid system because he is able to alternate positions, and I also said I like him as 2nd choice RB. That’s not trolling. I have explained I don’t like him at LB because we end up lacking width (because he isn’t left footed) and that it encourages him to come inside and hit shots from distance which he really isn’t good at. I’m also not keen on him as a starter at CB since his knee injury but I don’t mind him as 4th or 5th choice as he is currently. Constructive criticism is very different to trolling. I don call him rubbish, or say he can’t defend, or say he has no position in football etc. I simply state what I think he needs to do better and what I think he does well.

Stuie, I think my reply was as equally lacking in respect as Frodes was. If people can’t hack prickly replies they shouldn’t lead with prickly replies. I wasn’t intending to be respectful, because he wasn’t either. I’m not going to tip toe around sensitive people who can give it but can’t take it.

Frode, I’ve re-read it and upon reflection I can confirm you are either being too stubborn to admit you were wrong or English isn’t your first language. This isn’t the first time we’ve clashed, so I’ll do you a favour and ignore you going forward. Would appreciate if you would do the same because I don’t have the energy for it ??.

I really like arne slot. Nice presence about him, seems very genuine and is very on the button with regards to the club. Really hopes he succeeds with us.

So all players will start with a clean slate.
Wonder will Marko Grujic get another chance.

2.) 21 Jun 2024 20:22:13
He went a while back Gaga. A sub for Porto at best.

3.) 21 Jun 2024 23:03:30
Slot gets the ethos of the club. He didn’t need to be asked twice. We picked well.

4.) 22 Jun 2024 08:09:29
To be honest this sounds like when we sign a player and posters start to wax lyrical about their attributes and skills, quickly escalating them to the higher echelons of world football. I really don’t care what Slot says at this point in time. I want to see how we preform on the pitch, the results and our style of play. Whether he can improve players and get the best out of them. Talk is cheap.

5.) 22 Jun 2024 09:25:38
I agree, Irish.
I'll admit that I like to watch Klopp's interviews but he could also deliver on the pitch.
I'll forward to see how we do under Slot. I know nothing about him but I'll judge him most by results and how we play.

12 Jun 2024 22:22:30
I just love conor bradley. Don't really care about incomings unless we get thuram. Such a player we've unearthed. Destined to become a great player.

MIZER

1.) 12 Jun 2024 22:55:28
I’d forget about Thuram if I were you. Brexit Jim ain’t selling him to us.

2.) 13 Jun 2024 01:34:08
Bradley is still very young, he needs time but is an excellent player who I believe will end up huge for us but we need to be patient, he will make mistakes but that's all part of learning. A very promising player. It'll be interesting next season to see how much we see of the lad.

3.) 13 Jun 2024 03:23:07
Prefer Varela over Thuram personally.

4.) 13 Jun 2024 06:51:33
Bradley bagged himself a brace for NI the other day. Admittedly it was against Andorra but will do wonders for his confidence.

5.) 13 Jun 2024 07:24:58
Stuie
Bradley plays in a midfield role for NI, openly admits he enjoys playing offensively way more than he likes to defend.

6.) 13 Jun 2024 09:59:46
Rover, yeah I did see that, he certainly has the ability to play more advanced. Will be interesting to see him under Slot and he if he is played in a more offensive position.

7.) 13 Jun 2024 15:14:11
Thuram has had a poor season and looks distracted, odd to see folks here pining for him still.

8.) 13 Jun 2024 16:22:40
Agree with PB, there is probably a reason they’ve dropped his asking price by about 60% to be honest!

9.) 13 Jun 2024 21:51:02
For me he's already taken over Trent as the starter at RB. For me he's head and shoulders above Trent in the RB position bar possibly crossing.

10.) 13 Jun 2024 21:59:03
I love the way this discussion is going - perhaps play TAA at RB and Conor in front of him in midfield.

11.) 14 Jun 2024 11:50:44
"For me he's head and shoulders above Trent in the RB position bar possibly crossing. "

Can I have some syrup on that waffle?

Trents not a midfielder and I'll be glad when this talk is eventually buried. Either by the new season or him signing for mardrid.
We have a wealth of extremely talented footballers going into the new season with a fresh coach and this constant talk of trent is annoying now. Mayve it's the scouser connection but he's no Gerrard and if Madrid offer an acceptable bid trents gone to. You'll have to take the talk of trent as a midfielder for the millenia time to the Madrid page.
